Joe Getty
Tedious and depressing and makes you angry.
Clay Travis
You don't want to live your life like that. Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty. We're Armstrong and Getty. We try to bring you the truth and help you figure out this crazy modern world about something about a comedic tone. We have a winner.
Joe Getty
Yes. Listen to Armstrong.

This early? We've got graduation season up on us for, for college, also high school, sooner rather than later. And now they have like kindergarten graduations and elementary school graduations. I got an 8th grade graduation next week. I, I don't get it either, but all of these things stacking up together. So maybe you're going to be traveling around, maybe you're going to be busy. That's a good place to find the podcast. You can also listen to our entire podcast network. Whether it's Elisa Booth, whether it's Carol Markowitz, whether it's David Rutherford, we have put together an incredible collection. Tutor Dixon, Mary Kathryn Ham, we have put together a an incredible collection of podcast voices from a variety of perspectives. Ryan Girdusky, whatever you want, whether it's data analysis or it is a SEALS perspective or a mom's perspective. That's a Navy SEALS perspective, not the animal. Although maybe we could get an animal perspective at some point. We will have all of that for you. All right, what do we got going on here? We talked about James Comey, the shells, the big beautiful Bill battle that is underway on the House that. Spoiler alert, both Buck and myself feel confident will end up eventually being signed off on and ratified by the Republicans in Congress. But I wanted to hit a couple of stories that are out there circulating that I think are pretty funny and also illustrative of the regular lies that we are being told. First, I had this pulled over for a couple of days because I thought it was really interesting. And I know we do have a decent audience in the state of Connecticut. And a lot of you may be listening on war who have gone in to the New York area but might live in Connecticut as well. The senator, one of the senators from there. Buck, I'm curious if you buy that this was ever actually true. Senator Chris Murphy says he's talked to many parents of female athletes who are perfectly okay with their daughters having to compete against boys, believe it or not. Talking about the culture shift. This is from a New York Times podcast. Listen to cut 17.
Joe Getty
If you had a daughter competing against a biological male, would you find it unfair? I, I don't have girls. Right. So I necessarily can't write. I can't have some empathy. Right. For those of us who do. Right. So would you find it unfair? I mean, I've talked to lots of parents of girls in Connecticut who do not think it's unfair and who think that the benefits that those athletes get from being part of a team is important and they don't mind or feel threatened by the competition. I think everybody can come to their own conclusion.
Buck Sexton
But I.
Joe Getty
All I'm saying. Right, but your conclusion is the current is the official, the official line of liberalism right now.
Clay Travis
It's just.
Joe Getty
You're saying you don't. Yes, my conclusion is that I would support those athletes being able to participate in my community.
Buck Sexton
Right.
Joe Getty
In my community. But I, but I would not substitute My judgment and my community's judgment for another community's judgment.
Clay Travis
Okay, so first of all, that is all gobbledygook. Do you believe, Buck, this is the real Democrat Party perspective. Remember, all 47 Democrats in the Senate refused to vote against men being able to compete against women. Do you believe that the moms and dads of Connecticut with daughters are actually coming up to Connecticut, Senator, even though Connecticut is a blue state? Oh, I think Trump lost Connecticut by like 10 points. So it's not that crazy. Check that for me team in New York to see what the actual margin was. I know he lost New Jersey by 5. He lost, I believe, New York by 12, if I'm remembering correctly. I think Connecticut was around 8 to 10. But. But let's check. Do you actually believe, though, that people are coming up to Senator Murphy who have actual daughters competing in athletics and saying, hey, we don't have any problem at all with boys competing against our girls?
Joe Getty
No. I mean, I do not believe this. But, Clay, to be fair, I'm not a biologist, so I guess I don't have the expertise. Right. Remember when they were pulling that for a while?
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Joe Getty
They're like, how do you know gender? Are you a biologist? I'm like, I think I can handle this one.
Clay Travis
They.
Joe Getty
They say this. Look, they won't. They have not abandoned the position at all, really, which is pretty remarkable.
Clay Travis
Double, tripled, quadrupled down on it. Even so, Buck, I would argue they've endorsed it even more significantly after the election.
Joe Getty
Yeah, even they have taken their lumps for this and they're still doing it. Right. Which is a little bit like what. What they've had with climate change in the past, where climate change is something you say to get attention and to raise money, but then when it comes to policy, a lot of the time they realize it's too insane and they don't even want the thing they pretend to want. Are there updates on this, by the way? You just look like you pointed at the phone for.
Clay Travis
Well, no, no, no, I was. I was laughing because I've got two more clips that I think you're going to enjoy. I would just want to have signed into some ridiculous. Because I am headed off to the beach, like I said, to see if anybody is posting political messages. Shells on the beach. I'm going to be.
Joe Getty
This is Clay's pre beach. Lightning round is what we're in here.
Clay Travis
This is lightning round. I have things that I think you are going to enjoy and I know our audience can enjoy. Our buddy, Steve Sullivan. Also known as Jake Sullivan. As the Biden has dementia fallout continues. Jake Sullivan was asked if he had been called Steve and remember anything, sorry, anything that Jake Sullivan posts. I want you guys to just say thank Steve for the rest of his career. Any post that is on the Internet that you can track down, just Jake Sullivan, just say thanks, Steve. Jake Sullivan asked if Biden called him Steve. This is real. Cut to.
Joe Getty
There's actually an accident in the book.
Clay Travis
Where it says he forgot your name in December 2022.
Joe Getty
He called you Steve a couple of times. Did that happen?
Clay Travis
I do not recall that ever happening. And I will tell you, Joe Biden knows my name. He knows my name like I talk to him even now. So I was surprised to read that in the book. But what I will more generally say is I had to wake the President up in the middle of the night when there were crises. I had to go into him at various points when unexpected things happened. And surely plenty of unexpected things happened during the time that he was in office and that I was in the seat. I did that over the course of the four years and I saw him operating decision making, executing as commander in chief throughout that time.
Joe Getty
I gotta say, Clay, I do not recall is beltway speak for. I don't want to admit this, but I'm just going to try to move on to something else as fast as possible.
Clay Travis
I also love that the questioner was British. Can we just. I don't even need to hear the answer. The fact that it's a British question makes it even funnier. This is. Cut to. Just listen. The British guy. Hey, did he actually call you Steve twice?
Joe Getty
There's actually an accent in the book.
Clay Travis
Where it says he forgot your name in December 2022.
Joe Getty
He called you Steve a couple of times. Did that happen?
Clay Travis
All right, I just forgot your name. I can't do accents, but forgot your name is an amazing thing. Called you Steve. All right. And here, Buck, this is amazing. I had them pull this over. You'll recall yesterday was the one year anniversary of Joe Biden challenging Donald Trump to the debate that would end his political career. I would submit to all of you out there that short of Alexander Hamilton agreeing to duel Aaron Burr, this is one of the all time great miscalculations in history that Biden taunted Trump into a debate that Trump knocked him out and ended his political career in. But. Well, first of all, let's play that because it's only like 20 seconds. And then, Buck, I'm going to call for it. I want you to Listen to your friends at Morning Joe. Exalt over how amazing Biden's challenge was from that same day. So this was one year ago. We played this yesterday. Here is Biden challenging Trump to debate him. It's only 12 seconds, like eight different cuts. He could barely say it. Listen, Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. And since then he hadn't shown up for debate. Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal. I'll even do it twice. So let's pick the dates. Donald, I hear you're free on Wednesdays.
Joe Getty
Okay.
Clay Travis
Ha ha ha. All right, Buck, here are your boys. I don't hear you talk very much about your favorite show, Morning Joe as much anymore. It feels like you kind of got a rift in the love affair.
Joe Getty
They lost me, Clay. They lost me. If they're not going to talk about how there is literally fascism in America and how they're going to be pulled out of their homes any minute, it's just not entertaining. It's just. It's just third tier political analysis from people who would be better served spending their time drinking south sides at the country club.
Clay Travis
Here is the reaction from the entire panel on Morning Joe about how amazing Joe Biden's challenge of Trump was. Cut six.
Joe Getty
Oh, wow. Nothing subtle.
Clay Travis
Stuck on. I hear you're free on Wednesday.
Joe Getty
Wow.
Clay Travis
Your thoughts?
Joe Getty
Well, the best part of this announcement.
Clay Travis
That was just made is that announcement of the president, United States, brief, punchy, clearly understandable. Basically saying, let's go, tough guy.
Joe Getty
I think that's what a lot of.
Clay Travis
People are looking for from Joseph Biden.
Joe Getty
I wonder whether his people who understand. The less people hear of Trump, the better the campaign does. I wonder if he's going to find.
Clay Travis
An excuse to back out of these debates, too. I think he will definitely try to. I mean, the reality is, you know, to use. I come from Brownsville, Brooklyn. Donald Trump is a political punk. He does not want to go on stage without a cheering squad, without all of the things that he needs to make him feel all charged up. This is one of the worst bits of analysis in American political history. But it reminds me of the woman who I can still, I think I can play that like a thousand times in a row. The woman who taunted the guy at the liquor store about how all the women were showing up and Donald Trump was going to lose. Remember that clip?
Joe Getty
I'm a. I'm a political analyst. And the voices of the women of America are going to be heard, sir. That's why? Yeah, I remember she was buying her.
Clay Travis
Champagne or whatever it was to celebrate Kabul's big win. I wonder if the champagne. Stolen ice.
Joe Getty
I just, I love that. I love the notion of a dunk on somebody. We're like, oh, I'm a political analyst. I think we all are political analysts, honey.
Clay Travis
Guy who I bet voted for Trump, who was there working in the liquor store and was saying, oh, I hear it's pretty close. And, and we need to play that clip again. Maybe next week, bring it out of retirement. But this I just thought was perfect is a one year anniversary. That's what you would have heard on MSNBC right after Joe Biden challenged Trump. Trump's a coward. He may not even show up. Wow, look how brassy. Look how ballsy Biden is. This is the kind of fight we wanted to see. Hey, it's clear, it's articulate. Anytime you have to say it's clear, it's articulate. I mean, about somebody whose job is to communicate, not necessarily a really great idea. If somebody said, you know, Clay, he and Buck, they can talk. Well, it would be really troubling if people were like, man, I. I can't even understand those guys who talk for three hours on the radio all day. A huge part of being president is just basic communication skills, which Biden did not have by the time he was doing that video for sure.
Joe Getty
And, you know, I think that one thing that is easier to make the case about now, even though we recognize it at the time, it actually does matter to have a CEO. It does matter to have a decider. You remember Bush coined the term or at least popularized. He's like, I'm the decider.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Joe Getty
And people joked around about that, but it's actually a very good way of putting it. I mean, that's what a CEO is, the guy who decides or gal who decides stuff, who makes the call. And what you see for the four years of the Biden presidency is there really wasn't a decider.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Joe Getty
And you could say, oh, well, and we did that. It's the apparatus, it's the machinery around him and all that stuff, but that's actually not as efficient and not good enough. And there was a leadership vacuum even for a Democrat president. It's not, oh, I just don't like the decisions that were made. It's quite clear that there was no one steering the ship and there were other people who had their hands on the steering wheel, but there was no one person who. One thing that you know for sure, Trump is The decider.
Clay Travis
Yep.
Joe Getty
He decides. No one's like, you know what? I'm just going to override Trump today. Like, that doesn't happen. And if he says something's going to happen, everybody hops to it.
Clay Travis
My bad on the 2024 presidential election in Connecticut, by the way. I thought that it was closer than it was in that state. 56 to 42. So 56.4 to 51.9.
Joe Getty
I wish we could find a way to cleave off the. The Republican areas of Connecticut, which are in the more rural parts of it, which are beautiful. And I've spent a lot of time in. And I love. I honestly love that area of the country and just get them away from the maniacs in Hartford and along the coast who put all these bad policies into place.
Clay Travis
I was just going to say, to contextualize that for you, we talk about this all the time. 737,000 people in Connecticut voted for Trump versus 992,000 for Kamala. There's a lot of people, in other words, that are behind enemy lines.
Joe Getty
We could flip Connecticut. It's. You know, we might be able to spare some Floridians, but they don't want to be in the cold weather. As I say, we send some Republicans up there to move. Clay, before you go, can I just. Somebody wanted to send you off for the weekend properly, before you go and search for seashells on the seashore.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Joe Getty
Jeff wrote to me, buck, you got to watch that Clay guy. Tell him we're all glad that the University of Tennessee decided to bring back D1 football after 28 years. I don't even know what that means, but it sounds salty.
Clay Travis
Here's what I'll say. I understand why Alabama fans are in mourning because two of the last three years, the University of Tennessee has whipped your ass. All right, I'm headed to the beach on that. Buck, you're going to finish up. I'll look for messages. I'll see if my boy Comey's there with a. With a telescope, trying to figure out what's the thing called. The. I always get that thing called. Not the spy glass electromagneometer thing. No, no, no. The thing that all the detectives have. Like the magnifying glass. Right. Everybody walks around with. That's a weird.
Joe Getty
I thought you meant searching for metal in the beach. I was. I was way off. All right. Have a great time. Tell our boys we all send.
Clay Travis
Thank you.
Joe Getty

People have said they've never seen anything like taking place over the last four days in terms of investment, in terms of the kind of money coming back.
Clay Travis
Into the United States and all that money. The money is a nice word, but it's really jobs.
Joe Getty
We have jobs that are at a level that we very soon will not be able to. Nobody can duplicate it. And people want to be our partner.
Clay Travis
They want to be investing in the United States and they weren't doing that. They weren't happy with the United States.
Joe Getty
Role, pretty long period of time.
Clay Travis
So we've done something that I'm very proud of.
Joe Getty
He's managed to have an incredibly successful trip through the Middle East. And I think that's really, by all accounts, thus far, at least anybody who's trying to be even vaguely honest about it, he has gotten a tremendous amount of investment commitments. He has managed to move the ball downfield on negotiations with Iran. He has opened up a pathway for Syria to become a somewhat normal country that has a future instead of the war torn nightmare that it has been for over a decade now. So, yeah, there's some very good stuff going on. I just want to tell you all as I'm sitting here, Jesse Kelly, who you all know is an excellent host on Premier radio networks in the evenings, he has let me know that he and Comey are in fact the same height. I thought that Jesse might be a little smaller than Comey. Turns out, no, they're both 6 foot 8. So he didn't want me to get that one wrong. Thank you, Jesse. Just making sure. That is enormous, by the way. Like these guys. How could you be that tall and not be in the NBA? I bet Comey, I bet Comey throws a baseball like a girl and shoots a basketball like he grew up, you know, in Siberia or something. Well, actually they may be pretty good at basketball these days, but anyway, yeah, that's where we are on the Mideast trip for Trump. It's going very well. Things are really starting to click with this administration. Hopefully. The big beautiful bill. Do we. That's not the official name, is it? It might be. I don't know. It's Trump. It could be. I mean, if they can call. The Biden team can call the Inflation Reduction act something that doesn't reduce inflation at all. If anything makes it worse. I think we called the big beautiful bill. Senator Rand Paul, who was with us a few days ago. This is cut 12. He is not so thrilled about the big beautiful bill when it comes to the cuts, though. Let's take a Look at this. Play 12.
Clay Travis
The problem is, is it's asking conservatives like myself to raise the debt ceiling. $5 trillion. That's. That's historic. No one's ever raised the debt ceiling that much. It will be a record for Congress to raise the debt, $5 trillion. But also it indicates that this year the deficit will be over 2 trillion. But it means they're anticipating close to 3 trillion for the next year. It's really a slap in the face that those of us who are excited about Elon Musk and Doge and all the cuts. Where are the cuts? If the cuts are real, why are we going to borrow 5 trillion?
Joe Getty
I have been asking the same thing. I had so much hope for Doge and I think Elon has shown a lot of what is absurd within the government. But there has to be action taken by those in a position of power in government to do something about it to get to those cuts. This is. By the way, it's not just Senator Rand Paul who is concerned about this bill. Senator Ron Johnson, this is 13. He's a little bit unhappy with it. Play it.
Clay Travis
My calculations, we're gonna actually increase the deficit. That's. We're gonna go from $37 trillion in debt to over $60 trillion in debt over the next 10 years. It's completely unsustainable.
Joe Getty
So we've gotta get this under control.
Clay Travis
But give the President the border funding, extend current tax law, take an automatic tax increase off the table, make sure we don't default on debt.
Joe Getty
We could have already had that done. But now we're into this very complex, very difficult negotiation on one big beautiful.
Clay Travis
Bill that's just not getting the job done again. I ran in 2010 because we were.
Joe Getty
Mortgage Our Children's Future.
Clay Travis
We were $14 trillion in debt. Now we're $37 trillion in debt. And Republicans aren't fixing the problem, we're exacerbating it. That's Unacceptable.
Joe Getty
Yeah, that's not what I like to hear. And, you know, we have Senators Paul and Johnson on the show regularly. I think they are. There are two of the best we have on our team. It's been a while. You know, we haven't had Ted Cruz on in a while. Can we get. Can we reach out to Ted? Reach out to Ted's team. Senator Cruz. I just feel like it's been a while. We got to check in on him, see how he's doing. He's been busy. But, you know, we've got these great senators who I think are saying what needs to be said on this one. And here's what I would offer up, though. Where should the cuts be? It's one thing to talk about cuts and be the principled person, and I'm not casting any aspersions one way or the other here, but to be the principal person who says we need to make more cuts, tell me what those cuts are. We have to know what they're. What they are if we're going to hold anybody in the Congress to account for doing it. And with Doge, you know, the cuts are, even if they do what we've seen so far, I think it might be in the hundreds of billions, which would be very nice. But if we're raising the debt ceiling $5 trillion, we gotta figure out where's all this money going and where can we pull back some of the money. We don't wanna do tax increases, of course. Fine. Well, what are we going to do? That means there has to be less spending somewhere. You know, this is where I get a little bit frustrated, because even among conservatives, even among people on the right, we. We talk in circles on this. And this is why every time there's a debt ceiling fight, I'm like, this is the most boring thing. This is brinksmanship with no brink. And they're gonna raise the debt ceiling. It's not gonna change, you know, oh, there's gonna be a default. No, there's not. This is where we have to really get our hands dirty. Doge is about efficiency and finding fraud and inefficiencies in governments. Very important. But that's a, I think, best case, hundreds of billions of dollars of cuts. Now we should clearly make those cuts. And so when Senator Paul says, where are the cuts? I agree, but what are the other cuts that can be made so that we don't go a trillion or two every year for the next five or ten years into debt, deeper into debt. What are we going to do? You know, this is where we get into the. All right. I mean, if it really is just that we can't, you know, we need to spend basically what we're spending on the military because that's very important. And we're not going to do any substantial cuts to the military, which I'm not advocating for, and then we can't touch any entitlements, you know what we're saying? And I mean, even reform, not touching the entire, like, if someone's getting their Medicare now, that doesn't get, that doesn't change. But if you don't change it to, you know, to something else for the generation that's, you know, years below that or decades below that, what we're really saying is we know we can't afford this, but we're going to keep spending it anyway. And if that's where we are as a country, I think it's just better for us to say that out loud and understand it so we can stop wasting time pretending like we're going to reign in spending. Because if we can't rein in spending right now with Trump and the team around him that he has and with the mandate that he got in this election, because Congress just won't do it, when is Congress ever going to do it? Well, the answer is they won't until it's too late, when there's a true financial catastrophe and a true reset, which would be very painful and not something we would really want to contemplate. We don't know when it will happen. But I just want there to be greater honesty on this. I mean, Speaker Johnson, on the other side, this is 14. Speaker Johnson is very pleased with, with this legislation. So play that clip. This will be one of the most consequential pieces of legislation ever passed by.
Clay Travis
The United States Congress.
Joe Getty
It is large, it is comprehensive, and it deals with reconciling the budget in a way that will be fiscally responsible.
Clay Travis
We're going to slash taxes, including on tips, overtime, Social Security for seniors and job creators, restore American energy dominance, as.
Joe Getty
You'Ve heard, secure our border and deport illegal aliens. We're going to eliminate waste, fraud and abuse, return to peace through strength, and reduce spending, all at the same time. And I put reconciliation on an aggressive.
Clay Travis
Timetable back in January. I said that we would try to.
Joe Getty
Do this as quickly as possible. We're still on target to hit that.
Clay Travis
Memorial Day deadline, which people balked out when we first said it. The American people are counting on us.
Joe Getty
To get this done and get it done quickly. All Right. Let's, let's, you know, Team Ali, let's get, let's get Senator Ron John or Rand Paul, whoever. I think we had Rand on most recently. I don't like either of them. And then let's invite Speaker Johnson. He'll probably say he's busy being speaker of the House and getting this through. But let's, let's see if we get them on next week before the next two weeks before Memorial Day, because I want to ask these questions because right now there's just, it's like everyone's talking past each other. Rand Paul saying where are the cuts? Ok, where are they? Speaker Johnson says on the House side. And I understand they have to reconcile these. Right. I know it's different bills and they have there's a process. But everybody should know what are the cuts that they want or what the cuts that exist are in, whether it's in their ver, whether it's in the House or the Senate version. So I want to know where this is and what's going on here. I want to ask Speaker Johnson, ok, are there doe tell us and by the way, maybe the whole plan is they're going to tell us next week and they're still working it out. That's very possible. But I do think we should know because now is the time to do good things that really matter, especially for the long term. It's now. It's not in a year. It's not when people are thinking about the midterms. It's certainly not in, you know, three years when we're not going to have a President Trump to lead the Republican Party anymore because he's going to be in the, in the, you know, end of his second term. So, you know, and I mean lead the Republican Party in terms of pushing for this kind of legislation and stuff. And maybe he'll still be pushing, but it's different. As we all know, when a president is in the end of his term, the political capital that he has is not quite the same. So my point being the urgency of now, now is when this has to happen and we have to see the kinds of structural changes to spending that will begin to if we all agree there is a problem and we all agree it has to be fixed. And I think everybody who is center all the way to the right here and even maybe no, not Democrats, Democrats just want to spend us into oblivion. I really believe that. I think that they've just decided, you know what, smoke em if you got them, spend it if you don't have it, who cares? Let's just go for it. I think that's the ethos of their party now, which is the let's just burn it all down and have fun while it's burning approach to things. You know, this is the Santa Claus is real, everyone gets stuff it's not going to be paid for and let's just see what happens. So it is, it is on Republicans to live in reality, just like we have to on so many other issues, to live in the fiscal and monetary and mathematical reality of let's do something about this. And I just want to see what that is. And there needs to be greater clarity we're hearing of the big beautiful bill. We need to have greater clarity about what is going to be in this, you know, and, and what is going to be cut, what is going to be improved, what's going to get better here. Because this, I think that this is the best spending bill you are likely to see, or rather this is our best chance for a really good spending bill in Trump's second term. Right now, political capital at its peak. Look what Trump is doing. Look where the markets are, all the investment that's coming in. It only gets harder after this. It only gets harder because members of Congress are going to be thinking about their jobs, their position and all this, and they're going to be hedging, you know, the ones that are a little weak in the knees over what to do. So now is the time. So we'll try to get more clarity on that in the next week or two. I just want to let you know we are following that here and looking into these versions of the bills. And it's amazing. It's also Democrat. You're never going to have a Democrat Party that is more flat on its ass than it is right now, at least. I mean, I don't think realistically you can assume that's going to happen again for a very long time. The Democrats are a non factor except in the ability to obstruct because of the filibuster rule, but they're a non factor in the narrative. They're a non factor in messaging opposition to what's going on here. So the time is now and I think this is really important. And you know, you got Trump abroad racking up all these wins and doing what he's doing. All right, Congress, let's, let's get some clarity here. Let's get on board and let's have the big beautiful bill be truly worthy of the name and Trump's signature on it. Make sure you tune in for that. Diving into the big beautiful bill, where are the cuts and, and all that stuff? And on over the weekend, I didn't realize this. I've been fascinated by really southern Africa, meaning a few countries in the region, but South Africa, Zimbabwe, slash formerly Rhodesia for a long time. That in a marriage you are not on an equal playing field.

Clay Travis
Things from your wife that you could.
Joe Getty
Not in return hold her accountable for. Love this show, guys. Thanks. Okay. Thank you for the marital. I think he's referring to my wife getting a little miffed with me over a dream that she had recently. And I was looking at her like, what am I supposed to do then? Don't ask any questions Buck, just, just, just take the heat. Just take the heat. Dd Bobby Joe from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, let's play it. Hi, Buck. I just have some parenting advice.
Clay Travis

Joe Getty
Thank you so much, Bobby Joe. And just, you know, I'm trying to give my wife some breathing room here after, you know, it's been, I think six weeks since she was in the hospital. But we, we both, we want to, you know, we would love to, we would love to be able to have another kid as soon as we can. We'd love to have another one after that. And, you know, we'll see. Joe Getty
Kind of work, work it out that way. That's the best way I've found to do it.
Clay Travis
Well, you guys have a good one.
Joe Getty
All right, Trucker Jeff, that is very excellent advice. You, sir, have been smart enough to understand that it's good to admit when you don't know something. I am very stubborn and just refuse to admit in real time that I cannot find the thing my wife wants. So I may text her, but calling her feels like admitting defeat to me. But I think your way is much better. So good on you. Have a great weekend, everybody. Made in America means something to us.

Detailed Summary of "Hour 3 - President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill"
Podcast Information
The episode begins with Clay Travis and Buck Sexton welcoming listeners to the final hour of the week. They briefly mention the ongoing season of graduations and the diverse content available across their podcast network, highlighting various perspectives from different contributors.
Topic Overview: Clay and Buck address a controversial statement attributed to Senator Chris Murphy regarding parents of female athletes being supportive of their daughters competing against boys. The discussion critiques the authenticity and feasibility of Murphy's claims.
Key Points:
Senator Murphy's Claim: Murphy asserts that many parents of female athletes are comfortable with their daughters competing against biological males, emphasizing the perceived benefits of team participation.
Clay's Critique: Clay questions the validity of Murphy’s claim, especially in a predominantly blue state like Connecticut, where Trump lost by a significant margin. He challenges the notion that parents are genuinely supporting this policy, suggesting it may be more of a Democratic party stance rather than grassroots support.
Buck's Skepticism: Buck expresses doubt about the authenticity of Murphy’s claims, stating, "I do not believe this" ([06:01]).
Conclusion: Both hosts agree that the official stance may not reflect the true opinions of constituents, labeling the statements as "gobbledygook."
Notable Quotes:
Clay Travis ([05:01]): "First of all, that is all gobbledygook. Do you believe, Buck, this is the real Democrat Party perspective."
Buck Sexton ([06:01]): "I do not believe this. But, Clay, to be fair, I'm not a biologist, so I guess I don't have the expertise."
Topic Overview: Clay and Buck reflect on the one-year anniversary of President Joe Biden's challenge to Donald Trump for a debate, analyzing its impact and effectiveness.
Key Points:
Biden's Challenge: A year prior, Biden publicly challenged Trump to a debate, which Trump did not respond to, avoiding its potential negative impact on his political standing.
Clay's Analysis: Clay compares Biden's challenge to a historical miscalculation, akin to "Alexander Hamilton agreeing to duel Aaron Burr." He contends that the challenge was a strategic error that Trump capitalized on by avoiding the debate.
Buck's Reaction: Buck criticizes the mainstream media, specifically Morning Joe, for overhyping Biden's challenge. He remarks, "They lost me, Clay," emphasizing that serious issues like "fascism in America" are being overlooked in favor of less substantial debates ([10:20]).
Communication Skills: The hosts discuss Biden's communication effectiveness, suggesting that his lack of clear messaging played a role in his administration's perceived leadership vacuum.
Notable Quotes:
Clay Travis ([10:39]): "This is one of the worst bits of analysis in American political history."
Buck Sexton ([10:20]): "If they're not going to talk about how there is literally fascism in America and how they're going to be pulled out of their homes any minute, it's just not entertaining."
Topic Overview: The discussion shifts to the "Big Beautiful Bill," a significant piece of legislation aimed at addressing the U.S. debt ceiling and federal deficit. Clay and Buck delve into the bill's implications, bipartisan reactions, and the challenges ahead.
Key Points:
Debt Ceiling Increase: Republicans propose raising the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, a historic move intended to prevent defaulting on national debt. This increase is criticized for exacerbating the federal deficit, which is projected to exceed $2 trillion this year and approach $3 trillion the next ([24:01]).
Senator Rand Paul's Critique: Senator Paul expresses concerns over the lack of genuine spending cuts despite the bill's rhetoric, questioning where the promised fiscal cuts will occur.
Senator Ron Johnson's Support: In contrast, Senator Johnson praises the bill for its comprehensive approach, highlighting tax slashes, energy dominance, border security, and reductions in wasteful spending ([29:22]).
Republican Strategy: The hosts argue that Republicans need to clearly outline where spending cuts will be made to hold Congress accountable. They stress the importance of structural changes to federal spending rather than vague promises.
Deficit Concerns: Clay emphasizes the unsustainable nature of increasing the national debt from $37 trillion to over $60 trillion in the next decade, labeling it "completely unsustainable" ([25:02]).
Call for Transparency: There's a strong call for greater transparency and specificity regarding the bill's provisions, especially concerning which areas will see spending reductions.
Notable Quotes:
Senator Rand Paul ([24:01]): "The problem is, is it's asking conservatives like myself to raise the debt ceiling. $5 trillion. That's historic."
Clay Travis ([25:11]): "We're gonna go from $37 trillion in debt to over $60 trillion in debt over the next 10 years. It's completely unsustainable."
Senator Ron Johnson ([29:22]): "It is large, it is comprehensive, and it deals with reconciling the budget in a way that will be fiscally responsible."
Topic Overview: Clay and Buck outline upcoming segments and potential guest appearances to further dissect the Big Beautiful Bill and other political matters.
Key Points:
Upcoming Guest: Senator Ron Johnson is expected to join the show on Monday to provide deeper insights into the bill, addressing questions about spending cuts and fiscal responsibility.
Deep Dive Podcast: Introduction of a new "Deep Dive" podcast focusing on detailed analyses of topics like the U.S. budget and international affairs, specifically Southern Africa.
Engagement with Audience: The hosts encourage listeners to participate by sending in calls and engaging with their content across the podcast network.
Notable Quotes:
Buck Sexton ([35:34]): "We have to see what that is. And there needs to be greater clarity we're hearing of the big beautiful bill."
Joe Getty ([35:34]): "So we'll dive into that."
Topic Overview: The final segment includes interactions with listeners, offering personal anecdotes and advice, followed by promotional content.
Key Points:
Parenting Advice: Listeners share tips on maintaining strong family relationships and effective communication within marriages.
Personal Stories: Buck opens up about his family life, mentioning his wife’s recent hospitalization and their desire to expand their family.
Promotions and Advertisements: The episode concludes with a series of advertisements for products like Good Ranchers and Rapid Radios, as well as promotions for other podcasts within their network.
Notable Quotes:
Clay Travis ([38:20]): "That in a marriage you are not on an equal playing field."
Joe Getty ([39:18]): "Love this show, guys. Thanks."
Throughout the transcript, multiple segments are dedicated to advertisements for products such as Better Man, Good Ranchers, PureTalk, and Rapid Radios, as well as promotions for other podcasts like Armstrong and Getty. These sections were intentionally skipped in this summary to focus on the substantive political discussions as per the user's request.
