Right now we are in the Wood Radio Studios right here live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have Kyle Olson with me. He he is from the Midwesterner News. You should check it out. He runs writes great stories every day. Right now I want to get into what's happening with the big beautiful bill, which seems to be kind of a pause at the moment because we're hearing out of Washington that we've got Thomas Massie who seems to like to be a flying the ointment. But you don't necessarily always disagree with him because he's complaining about the debt ceiling and I can understand he doesn't want to keep spending. But right now he supposedly is out there saying that he has a vote block of 10 people. So he's, he's convinced 10 Republicans to vote no. But we're hearing that there is negotiations in the White House as we speak. Obviously, we know the art of the deal. We know this president is great at closing deals. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few hours if they're going to wear people down and people will come out and vote for this. Kyle.
Kyle Olson
Right. And you've got. So basically what's happening is you have a very narrow majority in the House of Representatives. And the block that Massie says he has, 10. I mean, that unless you've got Democrats voting for this, that sinks the bill.
Tudor Dixon
Yeah.
Kyle Olson
And so that's why I think, you know, sort of bigger picture here. That's why it's so important that the Republicans maintain and expand their majority in the House. Because President Trump's agenda, if they don't keep the House, his agenda is for his last two years, gets very complicated.
Tudor Dixon
And all the work that we've done in the last four years to get President Trump back into the White House, you know, the baloney that we went through in 2020, and we just talked about what we, what we had John Solomon on the podcast talking about that there was interference, attempted interference in the 2020 election from John, from, from China. John Solomon was telling us that. And we, so we know that now. We know we fought so hard to get him another four years, but the idea of having people step out of the House to run for other offices and then ultimately Donald Trump doesn't actually get those last two years. If we have to go through this impeachment, baloney and all that crap again, that will be a nightmare. But you do have, you do have a lot of controversy over this bill. I want to talk about Elon Musk for a minute, because he's come out and he has criticized the bill. He doesn't like it. He doesn't. Again, he doesn't like that you have a debt. He said, what's the point of having a debt ceiling if you raise the debt ceiling? I think what he's finding out is something that many of us who have had these altruistic feelings about government get into the machine and we see how the sausage is made, and you go home. This is not as great as you thought it was. You've got all of these people from across the country, 435 representatives from across the country who. And you've got 100 senators from across the country. So you've got all of these people that have to come together and make a decision on this bill. But you have different. You've got people from Urban places. You've got people from rural places. Like I said, 50 different states. Everybody wants to get their piece of the pie into this bill. Now, we've had people say we should. We should limit it to one issue per bill. We'd be. It'll be a bill every day.
Kyle Olson
Right, Right. And so you've got the situation where the president apparently, as we're speaking, is, is negotiating and is, is, you know, talking through these issues with these holdouts. But the, the majority matters. You know, we just saw the other day, Don Bacon, a representative from Nebraska, announced he's going to be. He's going to be retiring. Why does that matter? Because he, his district. In 2024, his district was won by Kamala Harris 54 to 45. In 2020, Joe Biden won that district. That's going to be a very competitive district. It's going to be very difficult for Republicans to win and keep that seat here in Michigan where we're sitting. John James, who represents Macomb county, which is the home of Reagan Democrats. President Trump, 1, Macomb County. But John James has decided to leave the House and he's running for governor. So that now is another seat that Republicans are going to have to spend probably millions and millions of dollars to defend. So you go across the map and it's not going to be. And then historically, you know, you just look at statistics and history. The party in power, which, of course is the Republicans, lose seats in the midterm. So they've got history against them. They've got Republicans who are deciding to retire or they're seeking promotions. It's, it's a very difficult situation for Republicans. And, and every single one of these matters because I think the Democrats have been very clear, if they get the majority, they're going to do impeachment all over again.
Tudor Dixon
Of course it will be. If they get the majority, we will be in a world of hurt. And so I think that is why people are frustrated with what Elon Musk is putting out, because he's. He's saying that he's going to primary every. Anybody who votes for this bill. He's going to primary them. I mean, obviously he has endless money, but is that really worth it? Is. Would you really go to that extreme? Senator Marshall, I think, was kind of funny. This is, this is cut 11. They were asking him, well, what do you think about what Elon Musk is saying? And this, I think, is the answer to your concerns. Kyle, here is what he had to say. Oh, look, I'll take President Trump's endorsement over Elon's any day of the week back home. Look, we need to pass this bill, bill because it helps fulfill President Trump's agenda. His priorities were to secure the border, bring back prosperity and security. I think if we do those things, if we bring back prosperity and security, we're going to get reelected. Elon's continuing his little spat.
Yaku Boyans
We're ignoring him.
Tudor Dixon
Let's get this bill across the finish line. They're ignoring him. They want to move on. President Trump has the most impressive team in history. I mean, people have said this is a historic comeback. Nobody has done what he did. We what Susie Wiles did, what James Blair did, what Chris Lack did. These are people who are not going to just allow this to get mucked up in the midterms to have Elon Musk go in and, and primary people. They're going to make sure that Donald Trump is heavily involved. And like you just heard the senator say, his endorsement means so much. Because we've seen this in Michigan, there is a faction of people who would like to kill America first. And I'm talking about Republicans who would like to kill America first. But James Blair, Suzie Wiles, Chris Lavita, they are not going to let that happen to Donald Trump. They're going to have J.D. vance involved. They're going to have Donald Trump involved. They are going to be helping to make sure that he has that majority, that his policies are enacted, that he gets those last two years to do what he so desperately needs to do to make sure we save this country.
Kyle Olson
Right. And so this, it's not just about this bill. There's a much bigger thing going on where it's the entire Trump agenda. And if they're willing to, you know, kill the whole Trump agenda because of one bill, well, then the last two, the last two years of the, of the Trump administration is going to be investigations, subpoenas, court hearings, and then ultimately impeachment.
Tudor Dixon
Well, it's interesting, if you are thinking about not voting for this bill and you can hear me right now, you should know that, that Donald Trump is like the most popular president in history right now because we've got this cut, cut 10 where they talk about, CNN is talking about how people feel about Donald Trump. So all of you out there that are just sitting in your offices waiting to go in there and vote, the American people are with Trump. So listen to this. Here it is.
Clay Travis
Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.
Kamala Harris
We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.
Clay Travis
But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. The Wall Street Journal.
Tudor Dixon
Okay, we're going to, we're going to step out of that. That wasn't what we were thinking. It was. We, we were going to play a clip from CNN where they said, Donald Trump right now is. He has a 60. Oh, we have that one. So we're going to play that right now.
Clay Travis
And get this. Donald Trump beats Ronald Reagan when it comes to the strongly approved five months. And of course, Reagan was coming off that high after that assassination attempt. So the bottom line is Donald Trump is making history with the Republican base. He is more beloved by this Republican base than any Republican base loved any GOP president. Five months. And it is history making.
Tudor Dixon
It is history making. Okay? So if you're sitting there on the fence, if you were one of those Republicans saying, I don't think I want to enact Donald Trump's agenda, that the American people are making history with their love for President Trump right now, so get off your duff and make the right decision.
Kyle Olson
And he was, during the campaign, he was very clear. There's a lot of politicians that sort of hide what they want to do. He was very clear about deportations, securing the border, everything else. He is enacting his agenda and there's people standing in his way and he's identifying those people that are standing in his way. And again, this is much bigger than just this bill. He's got a whole agenda that he wants to do over the next three and a half years.
Tudor Dixon
Yes. So buckle up. When we were there, we were actually there at the White House on the first 100 days when we were celebrating the 100 days. And I remember one of the women that worked there, she looked at me, I said, how's it going? And she was like, I'm kind of hoping we slow down a little bit. He goes so fast. He's got so much going on. I'm hoping now that it's been 100 days, we can take take a breath. And I just laughed and looked at her and I was like, no, you're never, this man never slows down. You are never taking a breath. President Trump keeps winning this week. He is winning. The border crossings, as we said, almost non existent. The Senate passed the big beautiful bill. Now we're waiting for all of these Republicans. Like I said, don't make this mistake. Make sure you, you get this passed. You, you guys want to go celebrate America? Go celebrate America. After you pass this bill egg. Prices are down. Gas prices are down. CBS is settling over what they did to the President. It's all good for President Trump. And don't forget, at the end of this hour, we want to hear from you at the very end of the show. Please call 800-282-2882. Stay tuned. We'll be back with more after this.

Welcome back to the Clay and Buck Show. I'm tutor Dixon. I'm filling in because the guys are off celebrating the fourth of July. I host the Tudor Dixon Podcast right on the Clay and Buck Podcast network. And we are live from the Wood Radio studios here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have Kyle Olson with me. We're going to talk about what is happening with this Diddy trial right now. I'm laughing because in the break, I'm like, so, what's the update on the Diddy trial? And then Sarah's next to me, and she's like, so. So apparently there's people outside of the courthouse right now, and they're celebrating. I don't know why they're celebrating. Apparently, Diddy still has a lot of fans. They're celebrating by pouring baby oil on their bodies. And Kyle's like, oh, it's way too hot for that. Like, what. What does that even mean?
Kyle Olson
I don't know. Just move on.
Tudor Dixon
Okay, so, well, I guess we're moving on. I don't want to know what he knows. That's. That's for him to know. But I want to. I do want to know what Clay knows. Kyle so mad at me right now. I do want to know what Clay knows, because I told you earlier, Clay texted us. He's like, oh, we were so right about this. We were so right about this. So we are going to play his own words. Cut 13. We've got it ready for you guys. Here's what Clay and Buck had to say about what was going to happen with Diddy.
Ryan Seacrest
I think, Buck, that. That there's not going to be a conviction here. And you agree with me. I've been following this case pretty closely, and I think the government failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt their case. Not that Diddy's a great guy or that I would want him dating my sister or my daughter or something like that, but I don't think they proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he is guilty of the very serious charges that they brought against him. This thing has gone to the jury. Maybe we're going to be wrong, but I do think that there would be a lot of shock if he's not convicted. I'm just telling you guys and gals out there who may not have paid as much attention to it. It would not surprise me at all if they failed to get a conviction.
Clay Travis
They.
Kyle Olson
They went for things that I think reasonable doubt is going to be too easy for some of the jurors to. To lean on. I don't think that the sex trafficking charge is going to be something they're able to get him on.
Tudor Dixon
I think this is so funny because they obviously. Obviously they were right, but I'm a woman, so I think of this as such a dude thing to be, like, on vacation and text us and say, you gotta play the video or you gotta play the audio of us being right. Yes, they are right. They. They deserve it. Clay and Buck are. That's. You were saying. They're so smart. They knew this, right?
Kyle Olson
That's why they took over for Rush.
Tudor Dixon
Yeah.
Kyle Olson
Makes sense.
Tudor Dixon
Yes, it makes sense. They. They knew this was gonna happen. I still find it kind of charming that they're like, you have to. You have to say that we were right. Say that we were right. So congratulations, Glenn. Buck, you were right. He didn't get the convictions on the major things, so obviously we'll find out what he's sentenced with later. I mean, they say it could still be up to, like, 10 years, but I have a feeling that he's out of there. He's going to have his own P. Diddy, whatever party with his baby oil soon. But also, other big news. Other big news in kind of a similar genre of like, I guess, revenge. Well, maybe. Maybe totally different. The president is actually going to be vindicated himself because I don't know if you remember, we were playing it earlier. I want to play it again really quick. We have this clip of Kamala Harris. This is the. The before CBS altered and after. Here it is.
Clay Travis
Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening.
Kamala Harris
We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.
Clay Travis
But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening. The Wall Street Journal said that he. That your administration has repeatedly been blindsided by Netanyahu, and in fact, he has rebuffed just about all of your administration's entreaties.
Kamala Harris
Well, Bill, the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region. And we're not going to stop doing that. We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.
Tudor Dixon
Aren't you so glad you don't have to hear that world word salad anymore? It's like crazy. I mean, that that's how they altered it. So we find out now that CBS and Paramount are going to settle with Donald Trump and it could be north of $30 million. They deserve it. All right, don't forget, you got to call in at the end. We want to hear your traditions. Call in 800-282-2882. We'll be back with Yakuboyans after this.
Ryan Seacrest
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton on the.
Tudor Dixon
Front lines of truth. Welcome back to the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. The guys are off today. I'm Tudor Dixon and I am filling in for today. I'm the host of the Tudor Dixon Podcast, which is in the Clay and Buck Podcast network. And I'm excited to be coming to you live from the Wood Radio studios here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. And I have a guest with me today. He is one of my favorite people to talk to. And he actually is somebody who's out there fighting sex trafficking every day, which I appreciate, having four daughters. He has taught me so much about keeping my kids safe. But I felt like, wow, with all this stuff going on with Diddy right now, it would be great to have Yakuboyans here. So I, I want to welcome you to the program. Thank you so much for joining me, Yaku.
Clay Travis
Thank you. Tutor. So kind of you. And you're the, you're the best of the best. It's good to be with you.
Tudor Dixon
Well, thanks for being here. You have some things going on in Texas, too. I want to get to that. But first, what is your opinion on what happened with Diddy Tudor?
Clay Travis
This is an utter failure of the judicial system. Today is a very dark day. And if you could look at my text feed today from survivors of trafficking, texting me organizations in the fight, they are demotivated, they are depleted because we work so hard to rescue a single life and then to have it play out in the media to parade a survivor like Cassie Ventura, like they did with Virginia Giuffrey, and then to have the justice system fail again. This case was not built right from the first day. And I reached out to prosecutors when they took this case, we offered support from. From industry experts saying, look, can you build this case differently? It's all good that they.
Tudor Dixon
Because your sister was trafficked in the music industry, you know.
Clay Travis
Yeah. And so. Yeah, you're right. So. So within human trafficking, music specifically is very, very personal to us because Ilonka was trafficked through the music business, through an American record label. This is her story. We know this story inside out. And so the case was not built. Right. The prosecutors did a very poor job in building this case. The way they present survivors to a jury, judges do not understand the crime. Jury does not understand force, fraud, coercion. When they dropped 50% of the sex trafficking charges on Friday, I messaged most of the organizations and said, this is not going to go well. This is going to be horrific. You know, acquitting him from racketeering and both human trafficking charges he's not guilty of, according to them. Right. And so, yes, Transportation, prostitution of Ms. Ventura. Transportation, prostitution for Jane Doe. Maximum sentence of 10 year each. He's not going to get that. He's probably going to get bail, is probably going to be home for 4th of July and he may. He may serve a fraction of it and then. And then get off of good behavior. This is going to be a bit of a Martha Stewart scenario, a little bit of.
Tudor Dixon
So you think he comes right home?
Clay Travis
I think he's got to be home for a bit. And then he's going to get sentenced. I do think he serves time, but he will not serve the sentence he's going to get. He's going to be out, sadly. You're going to see this guy make records and people are going to buy his concert tickets. And you know who's losing? Your tutor. Not just Ms. Ventura, every victim. If you can see what survivors are writing, to me, it is. And people don't know this. Only 1.7% of victims of human trafficking ever speak out. 1.7%. Now you're taking a 1.7% person who puts her name out there, she's paraded out there. And now the world, the law is telling her, you're a liar, you're wrong. None of this happened. Her life is destroyed.
Tudor Dixon
Doesn't that frustrate you that they built this case wrong then?
Clay Travis
It's unbelievably frustrating. And we warned them. We warned them. It is a particular way you built these cases. If your key witness is a survivor, there's certain things you have to do and don't do. And you cannot hang a case this sophisticated. We talk about two decades of freak offs and you're going to build the case around a single person. The pressure on that survivor, it's insurmountable. It's not. Plus, this is what they did with Virginia Gifre and Epstein. What did they say? They looked at for a time when she lied about something and they came and said she's not a credible witness. And they start cutting at her credibility in front of the public, in an audience, and they dismantle a survivor of trafficking by questioning their testimony, by questioning their trauma. Right. There was no trauma, informed therapy, witness and testimony here. No. No human behavioral science with trauma. Nobody explained to this, this jury how a survivor remembers in phases that it's subliminal. It's buried. Trauma is buried. That this triggering happening. When they asked her, well, was there ever a time. This is so. This is so cynical. Was there ever a time when you were consensual with Mr. Cox? And her answer is, so then that.
Tudor Dixon
Takes away all of her credibility.
Clay Travis
She legitimately loved him.
Tudor Dixon
Yeah, well, but that's what you've told me. So oftentimes there is. There is someone that is keeping them there, that is keeping them from saying anything because they think it's love, because the manipulation is there. And that is the danger of this. But that's, I think, to the American people right now, they're going, okay, well, if Epstein came, can't be caught, and did he, can't be caught, then why even try?
Clay Travis
Exactly. Now, if the public thinks that Tudor, what do you think? A victim. This is a high profile case. We have 13 cases we're working right now. 13 in our organization. Some of them are 12 years old. The 12 year old, you don't know her name. Her family is not getting financial support. They're not getting media attention. She's got some low level Prosecutor in the DA's office in her hometown that just tells her there's no way you get sex trafficking. We're not even going to try a sex trafficking case. We're going to plead this down to a marijuana charge, an illegal arms charge, a kidnapping charge. They're not even going to court on sex trafficking. It's only these. Here's the statistics at a federal level on sex trafficking. When the charge is sex trafficking, all right? Those cases go to court. Only 13% of those cases in the states go to court. 13%. Any other felony? Every other felony. We're releasing a white paper on this next week that I would love for you to help distribute this white paper fillets, this wide open. Any other felony at a federal level is prosecuted at 92% sex crimes, particularly against children and women, men and boys. 13%.
Tudor Dixon
So let me ask you this. We started this show, this program today talking about Mamdani in New York. And one of the things that he came out and said is he wants to legalize sex work, which is prostitution. And you would have these men who would own women and they would be a part of this group, that they would sell their bodies. And to me, this all sounds like a nightmare when you hear that this man saying this in the most powerful city in the world. What do you think? Based on what you know.
Clay Travis
It is an absolute dismantling of the American culture. One nation under God. What our founding fathers came here for. It is the most sadistic undermining of who we are as Americans. It eat the nuclear family to its core. You will not recognize America. Now remember, he is an offspring of some champions. The biggest, and by the way, the movement is called the full Decrim movement to fully decriminalize the sale and purchase of sex, including children. Okay? So you can own a slave. That movement in this country has so much momentum. J.D. pritzker, the governor of Illinois, is the champion of this movement in this country. Him and his brother Gavin Newsom is on this movement now. This madman, absolute madman, madman in New York is advocating for this in New York and he's getting support. Let me give an example. If his law was in place, Diddy would have been walking free of all charges today because the transportation to prostitute gone every city in the world. And there's been five cities in the world that have instituted over time and most of them had dropped it. The decriminalization of sexual enterprise. The trafficking of children on average went up over 1,000%. It's like saying, look at Boulder, Colorado. In Boulder, they said, you know what? THC is illegal. Do you know that every illicit drug went up over 86% when they legalized THC marijuana. You can't say, well, you can own a person and sell them, but nobody's going to sell children. This is.
Tudor Dixon
Well, and then. And also if you can own a person, I mean, you called it slavery. If you can own a person and sell them, for one thing, when does it end? Where does it stop?
Clay Travis
It doesn't. It's slavery. Straight up. Slavery in a land that in our Constitution, our founding fathers said we're leaving the grips of a tyrant king. Right? This is. Look, every person in New York, if they hear my voice, if you stand with that man, you will be single handedly responsible for human beings being enslaved.
Tudor Dixon
You know, you are saying this to me and it makes me realize he was one of three people in the New York legislature that voted against banning revenge porn. He did not want to ban revenge porn. And that to me, I'm like, oh my goodness. Everything I know from you tells me that that's how these guys control these women. So if he wants to torture women, if he wants to make sex work legal, he wants to then also make it legal to hold this over their heads and torture, torture the people that they own.
Clay Travis
Tutor, look at his faith. This is gonna be controversial. I'm gonna say this right now. I'm not speaking for Buck and the boys. I'm not speaking for you. We're not speaking for the network. I'm Speaking out of 31 years experience fighting this demon, okay? Fighting human trafficking, fighting, fighting immorality, sexual immorality. Look at his faith go. Look at his core. There are certain faiths on this planet that believe you can sell people, own them, demean them. You can sell an 8 year old child as a child bride. You can have sex with a child. We are playing with demons in this country. We're playing with fire. New York will fall in fashion that you cannot fathom. And the sad part is when that happens, you don't just pick it up in the next midterm and fix it. People get broken in levels where you can't fix them. The abuse level will go through the roof. You want to see persecution of Jews? You know what's happening in London at the moment? London has no go zones. I work with Scotland Yard, I work with the House of Lords in London. There's British citizens, Americans, sorry, British citizens that marry into a particular faith sect that does not frown upon the sexual abuse of women. And the police force will not defend British citizens because they're saying you're under that law. Now you've placed yourself. The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration in the United States. Recipients have done the improbable, showing immense bravery and sacrifice in the name of something much bigger than themselves.
Clay Travis
This medal is for the men who went down that day. It's for the families of those who didn't make it.

Welcome back to the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. I'm tutor Dixon. I'm filling in today. Thank you so much for joining me on the show. I've got Kyle Olsen with me here and we wanted to take some calls. I want to get right into them because we wanted to end on something kind of happy and exciting. We've got Randy in New York. He's got a question for us. Randy, tell us what you're concerned about.
Clay Travis
Yes, it's. Why is it Independence Day is the only one that some people refer to by date? It's Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Halloween, Happy Easter, Happy New Year's. But some people say Happy Fourth of July. No, no, it's Happy Independence Day.
Kyle Olson
Exactly. And that's a date we can never forget because I would make the argument July 4, 1776, is one of the most important dates in the history of the world because look at what has happened since then. So you're right.
Tudor Dixon
Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you, Randy from New York, for calling in. And we've got Michael. Oh, we. We lost Michael in Ohio. I want to talk to you about what you just said a little bit because I had Selena Zito on the podcast and she talked about Butler, actually, it's going to be airing on Monday of next week. She talked about Butler, the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania. And she talked about how there had been two attempted assassinations of presidents there, once of George Washington, which I had never heard about. And then obviously, we all watched the attempted assassination of President Trump. And she made that same comment. Think about if either of those things had happened, how different the world would be. And what you said just now is so powerful because if there were no Independence Day, this world would have crumbled. Look at what the United States has done to provide peace, to provide shelter, to provide love to people across the world.
Kyle Olson
That's right. And so when you see these polls, there was just a poll that came out about American pride that showed itself a 25 year low. And interestingly, Democrats have significantly lower pride in America than Republicans do. But it's what they forget to. What they, what they forget or what they don't choose to remember is the sacrifice that so many generations have gone through. And so somebody like Mamdani can come to America and can benefit from freedom, from individual rights and all of that. And he hasn't had to sacrifice.
Tudor Dixon
Right.
Kyle Olson
But there are many millions of people in America who have had to.
Tudor Dixon
I took my daughter to Washington D.C. this year. She stood in front of the Korean War Memorial where it says freedom is not free and I asked her if she knew what that meant. She didn't. We had a good conversation about what it means to be in America, what people do for us to make sure that we are free in this country. I just want to thank you all for being a part of the Clay and Buck show with me. I want to thank the studios here, Wood Studios in Grand Rapids for hosting me while I host Clay and Buck. And I'm just asking you guys to follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, uterdixon and make sure you download the podcast whenever you can or you can check it out on rumble and YouTube. Thank you so much for letting me host this show today and with Kyle. Kyle, thank you for being here.

Podcast Summary: The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show
Episode: Hour 3 - The Big, Beautiful Bill
Release Date: July 2, 2025
Host: Tudor Dixon (Guest Host)
Network: iHeartPodcasts
In this special third-hour episode of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Tudor Dixon steps in as the guest host from the Wood Radio Studios in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Joining him is Kyle Olson from Midwesterner News. The duo delves into pressing political issues, including the status of the debt ceiling bill and the high-profile trial of Robert "Diddy" Cox. The episode is marked by lively discussions, insightful analysis, and passionate viewpoints on current events shaping the nation.
Current Status and Political Maneuvering
The primary focus of the episode centers around the contentious debt ceiling bill, referred to as "The Big, Beautiful Bill." Tudor Dixon highlights a temporary pause in its progression, citing reports from Washington about Representative Thomas Massie potentially blocking the bill. Massie claims to have secured a vote block of 10 Republicans voting against the bill, complicating its passage.
Negotiations and the Republican Majority
Kyle Olson underscores the precarious nature of the bill's fate, emphasizing the narrow Republican majority in the House of Representatives. He warns that without maintaining or expanding this majority, President Trump's legislative agenda could face significant obstacles in his remaining two years.
Elon Musk's Opposition and Republican Response
A notable point of contention discussed is Elon Musk's public criticism of the bill. Musk threatens to primary Republicans who support the debt ceiling increase, expressing skepticism about the necessity of raising the debt ceiling. This stance has ignited frustration among Republicans, including Dixon and Olson.
Notable Quotes:
Confidence in Passing the Bill
Despite the hurdles, Dixon and Olson express strong confidence in passing the bill. They argue that the bill is crucial for fulfilling President Trump's priorities, including securing the border and enhancing national prosperity. The hosts dismiss concerns about potential impeachment battles, framing the passage of the bill as essential to preventing political turmoil.
Notable Quotes:
Case Overview and Predictive Analysis
Transitioning from legislative matters, the discussion shifts to the high-profile trial of Robert "Diddy" Cox, who faces charges related to sex trafficking. Clay Travis expresses strong skepticism about the prosecution's case, predicting an acquittal based on perceived weaknesses in evidence and judicial handling.
Challenges in Sex Trafficking Prosecutions
Clay dives deep into the systemic issues plaguing sex trafficking cases, citing a staggering statistic that only 13% of such cases reach the courtroom compared to a 92% prosecution rate for other felonies. He criticizes the legal system for mishandling these sensitive cases, often relying on single testimonies that lack robust evidence.
Impact on Survivors and Public Perception
The hosts lament the adverse effects on survivors when high-profile cases falter, noting that such outcomes can demoralize those fighting against human trafficking. Clay emphasizes the rarity of survivors coming forward, with only 1.7% choosing to speak out, and the detrimental impact of publicized trials on their willingness to continue.
Notable Quotes:
Legal Reforms and Advocacy
Highlighting ongoing efforts to reform how sex trafficking cases are prosecuted, Clay mentions an upcoming white paper aimed at addressing these judicial shortcomings. He calls for broader distribution and support to amplify these critical insights and drive legislative change.
Notable Quotes:
Critique of Legislative Proposals
Tudor Dixon and Clay Travis vehemently oppose the movement to decriminalize sex work, particularly emphasizing the potential for increased human trafficking and exploitation. They argue that such legislative changes undermine American cultural and familial values, equating decriminalization with a step towards legalized slavery.
International Comparisons and Consequences
Drawing parallels with international scenarios, Clay references the rise in human trafficking in cities that have relaxed sex work laws. He warns of dire consequences if similar policies are adopted in the United States, including the increase in exploitation and abuse of vulnerable populations.
Notable Quotes:
Call to Action
The hosts urge listeners to remain vigilant and oppose legislative changes that threaten the safety and integrity of American society. They emphasize the importance of upholding laws that protect individuals from exploitation and maintaining strong cultural and moral standards.
As the episode progresses, Tudor Dixon and Kyle Olson engage with audience call-ins, addressing topics like national pride and the significance of Independence Day. They reflect on the enduring importance of American values and the sacrifices made to preserve freedom.
