hour of play and buck kicks off now and we're joined by Senator Mark Wayne Mullen of Oklahoma. Senator, good to have you back on the program.
Senator Markwayne Mullin
Hey brother, how are you doing?
Buck Sexton
Pretty good, pretty good. Obviously a lot of people caught between feelings of ebullience, maybe relief that a lot of very bad people in Iran have been taken off the chessboard. But there's also concern about where this goes and the next steps. You are a veteran, you understand war. What do you make of what we're seeing so far? The Trump administration decision to go in alongside Israeli forces and take out these targets. What are you seeing and how do you think this should play out well,
Senator Markwayne Mullin
first of all, let me clear. I did special assignments outside of dod. Now, Dow. I never wore the uniform or the flag on my, on my, on my.
Buck Sexton
Pardon me, pardon me. Go ahead.
Senator Markwayne Mullin
But too totally the guys that. Guys that signed the contract was. I got to work alongside of those guys, and they're phenomenal individuals. So, you know, I think with the, with where we moved today, people that think this is another Iraq is just not understanding that's not even close to where we're at. They think that's another Afghanistan. It's not even close where we're at. We're not hunting for Saddam Hussein. We're not hunting for, you know, for Osama bin Laden. That hunt ended within an hour. What we're doing is getting rid of a regime that's been hunting us for 47 years. This regime has attacked us since November of 1979, all the way up to the last attack of June of 2005. They have killed or injured thousands of Americans, and they had chanted death to America and declared war on us a long time ago. This is the president. Trump, though, is the first president out of the last seven to actually stand up and say, we're going to eliminate this threat. We're not going to allow them to continue to build their arsenal, to continue to attack our assets and one day possibly have the ability to attack us here on the homeland. Because it wouldn't be a matter of if, it'd be a matter of when. This regime that's been, you know, the number one sponsor of terror around the world, and their biggest target has been us. And why? Diplomacy. President tried diplomacy. I mean, during the 12 Day War, he was very clear. He came out and said, listen, we've destroyed your nuclear capability. We know where you're at. If we wanted to take you out, we would. But now we just ask that you. I mean, I'm paraphrasing this now. We ask that you don't rebuild it. They decided to start rebuilding it. And then just recently, the information that's now open source during the negotiations, which some of us was already aware of this, but Wyckoff put it out publicly that they said they had enough enriched uranium to make 11 nuclear bombs. That made the threat even more deadly. And the president had his assets in the area. He had worked with General Kaine and Secretary Hexseth to have assets available. And when the target finally presented itself, we went and eliminated the threat and continue to eliminate the threat today. So this isn't Iraq, this isn't Afghanistan. This is going after the terrorist organization that has been there for a long time and make it very clear we're not at war with Iraq, we're not at war with the Iranian people. We want a relationship with them. This is to eliminate the threat that continued to come after us for 47 years.
Clay Travis
We're talking to Senator Markway Mullen of Oklahoma. One of the things, as I'm sure you well know, that politicians get criticized for is only being concerned with the next election. President Trump doesn't have a next election. It would be easy, it would be super easy for him to have just said, hey, you know what? I'm going to do enough so that Iran is not an issue for the rest of my term, but I'm just going to kick the can down the road and. And leave it to whomever my successor is to potentially deal with it. President Trump seems to me, and I'm curious because you spend quite a bit of time with him, talk to him quite a lot, to have decided that he's going to do everything in his power, whether it's build a new ballroom or get a new leader in Iran to solve issues for the next 20, 40, 60 years, isn't that incredibly commendable and actually rare for an American president to be doing?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
That's right. The president says, why are we waiting? Why do we keep putting tomorrow when we can do something today? And that's where he's at. He's like, I'm not going to continue to deal with these problems. That's been there forever. I mean, you think about it. People question me when I said seven presidents, but think about this. You had Carter, you had Reagan, you had Bush, you had Clinton, you had Bush, you had Obama, and you had Biden. Every single one of these has an opportunity to deal with this threat, and they chose not to. Even Maduro, you had Obama and you had Biden that could have dealt with that threat. They chose not to. The president is like, why do this? At some point, someone's gotta do something with this threat and with the Ayatollah. He did it. And yet the Democrats are upset because they can't deny that they have killed thousands and injured thousands of Americans for 47 years. They can't deny that they've declared war on us. They can't deny the fact that they sponsored the war on terror, which were their number one target. They can't deny that. The only thing they're upset about is that the president supposedly did something illegal or supposedly did something unconstitutional. But that's their go to because they can't name specifics. Because these same Democrats didn't complain about Obama when he dropped 26,000 bombs in 2016 alone and bombed six different countries. They're just upset that the president is having any type of success. And at this point, you can't reason with crazy. And that's where the Democrat Party is today.
Buck Sexton
We're speaking to Senator Mark Wayne Mullen of Oklahoma. Senator, how do you address when a constituent comes up to you? And I'm sure you're getting this, maybe not necessarily in person, but you're certainly getting emails, calls to your office because there are some people who are three time Trump voters. We got some calls and emails from them today who are all on board on the agenda, but they're saying Cuba, Venezuela, Iran. This stuff doesn't look like America first to me. What's your response to them?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
Yeah, so let me, I'll break that down for you. Let's look at Venezuela. Venezuela is American first because Venezuela was allowing drug cartels to poison our streets, kill our family members, kill our friends and destroy our towns and our cities. Because Venezuela became the number one hub for drug exports into the United States. We tried to get them to stop. It wasn't that we were trying to run or run the country. We just wanted them to quit allowing the cartels to be able to use their ports to ship drugs into the United States. And that does affect us directly. It affects everybody. Every one of your listeners, including you and I talking, we know somebody that's been affected by fentanyl and the drug overdoses because we lost more people last year alone to drug overdoses than we did in the entire Vietnam War for American personnel. And so that's the first one on Venezuela. Cuba has been a constant staging ground for Russia and now China. It's 90 miles off the coast of Florida. It is a huge threat to us and it can create complete destabilization. We saw it during the Cuban crisis, missile crisis and what happened to the United States. The president is laser focused on our hemisphere. He's not really interested in the rest of the hemispheres unless it happens to us. He's pulled the resources or he pulled the resources to protect our hemisphere, which is why he secured the border. Securing our border is the same thing as securing our hemisphere because the overflow coming to Cuba could be dangerous. So securing our border in Cuba in that hemisphere is important. When you start looking at Iran, let's just see what's happening right now with the shipping lanes. We've seen oil surge at the highest. Quicker than it has in recent years. It jumped up an average of $0.11. You've seen the shipping lanes that have been closed because insurance companies won't allow shipping to go through the Suez Canal, which in the straits and through the canal. 20% of the world's oil flows. And the destabilization that can take place because we are in a world economy, regardless if people think we all are not. Our economy is tied to the world, which is why the dollar is the number one currency around the world. And what happens in that region is very important. With Iran becoming a nuclear power, they would destabilize that entire area. And at any given time, they could threaten to shoot a nuke and they could shut down those shipping lanes and cause extreme volatility in our economy. And there's no way to get around it because their ability to reach out so far, they had missiles that could reach all of our assets. And if you just want to know how important that area is, look at how many bases that we have just in that immediate region because of how important it is to the United States economy and our interest. And then our allies all the way into Europe, and they were trying to get a nuclear weapon that fit the United States. If we didn't deal with them now, dealing with a nuclear Iran would have been a much worse issue, and it would have destabilized our economy not for weeks, but destabilized it for years or maybe decades, because we may not have had another president with a backbone that President Trump did. Remember, seven presidents passed on a problem they knew they were going to deal with at some point.
Clay Travis
All this is very serious. But I'm sure you saw the video of Secretary of War Pete hegseth bench pressing 315 pounds.
Senator Markwayne Mullin
Yeah. Yeah.
Clay Travis
Okay. So did Buck. So we're gonna. We're gonna put you. You. I want to hear what you bench, because I remember I. I saw the video of you doing the. The pull ups and the. And the. And the push ups. And then we. I remember the crazy video where you did like a mile worth of lunges, which is one of the most insane things I've ever seen anybody do. Did you see that video?
Buck Sexton
I think Clay might have said that guy's a freak of nature or something along those lines.
Clay Travis
I mean, a mile of lunches is. Is my personal hel. That's like the baton death march for me, if you maybe do it. So do you think that 315 was legit?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
If 315 is very respectful. Listen, anyone that could do 225 is very respectful. I have a ridiculous bench. I, you know, I do reps to 315. I. So my max is probably. I haven't maxed in a while. That's. My max is 405.
Clay Travis
But what do you weigh like 225?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
No, I weigh one. This morning I weighed 187.
Clay Travis
Holy. So how many reps are you doing on 315?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
I do reps of five. Okay, 15. Yeah.
Clay Travis
All right.
Buck Sexton
So do you think our Secretary of War is maybe rocking a little trt? I'm just throwing it out there. I'm just throwing out there.
Senator Markwayne Mullin
Listen, whatever he's rocking, it's working and all right. I told him, I called him and I said, I said, I called. We're friends. So I called him Pete. But all due respect, Secretary Hexeth, but I said, big brother, I'm Tony. Good job. I mean the way those way those men and women around you started getting so excited. The Secretary of War. I mean, when was the last time the Secretary War even walked into a gym like that, much less throw up.315 is pretty excited. But I told him, I said, but listen, I do refs with that. And he says, I knew you were going to call me.
Clay Travis
I do think that, that getting guys in the gym to bench weight is a good idea to use free weights in general. Let me ask you this. Who is the strongest Democrat? Like if we had a bench off right now in Congress, how many Democrats can even do 225 now?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
I don't. Maybe Jimmy Panetta.
Buck Sexton
There's not the guy who pulled the. Jamal Bowman, the fire alarm guy.
Clay Travis
He's out. He was a strong dude.
Buck Sexton
Oh, he's out. Okay.
Senator Markwayne Mullin
That guy, that guy couldn't do 10 push ups. I'd say maybe Jimmy. There's not a senator. I know that. But Jimmy I think could do 225. I've seen him in the gym. He works out with me every now and then. Josh Guntheimer. I give him a hard time because, I mean, he may be able to shoot 25, but he's only, I mean it's only like a 18 inch travel. And by the way, he's a really good friend of mine, so I can make fun of fun of him, but I don't know. I mean, it's not. We've been kind of blessed and I mean that our party has, you know, I've elected some young people. I mean, I tell you, who knows, another person is freaking nature is Tim sheehy I mean that guy's stout as styles and ox too. He can, he can throw up some serious weight.
Clay Travis
It is, I mean it's, it's fun to talk about but isn't being physically fit or at least attempting to put in the time to do it for men in particular a good message to be sending?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
I think it's good for everybody. I think it's mental more for me it's mental health, right? It's my morning cup of coffee, I get up and go after it. But it's also self confidence like I don't have to go out there and prove myself to anybody. I don't, I don't have to go in there and try to mix words with you even though I will. The truth is when I'm walking around I feel confident I can handle my situation that comes in. And so it's like some things that happen around here. Occasionally you have protests that happens and people start, they literally say I fear for my life, I fear for my life. And I think if you have a little bit of self confidence about you and realize that you can handle things, you don't have to walk into a situation but if a situation happens, you feel confident enough to be able to handle yourself.
Clay Travis
I know this is come back to this because I bet we're going to. I should have asked you about this earlier. SAVE act. We got a quick turn here but how optimistic are you of anything happening with it?
Senator Markwayne Mullin
I think we vote on it in the next week or two. I've been expecting it to come up and I think it would already came up. We didn't have this DHS issue. We're dealing with the SAVE Act. I mean we'll get over 50 votes on it. I just don't know where it's at. I don't know how many votes we'll get on it, but we'll get over 50. We won't hit 60. Then the question is, is what do you do with it? You know people talk about the talking filibuster. The talking filibuster. Mike Lee and I just, we, we, we have had a lot of conversations and Mike Lee's man, he is brilliant, brilliant. But the way that I understand it talking to parliamentary and the reason why this hasn't happened is because in the last hundred, the reason why we haven't done it last hundred years is because you basically succeed the floor to the Democrats when you do this. And at any given time, 2 o' clock in the morning, as they're doing their speeches, they can call a quorum call if a quorum's not present. So the Republicans have to be on the floor to answer the quorum call or they start their debate time all over again. And every time they call up an amendment, it's like a filibuster that has no end time. Like a filibuster or not a filibuster, but a vote of Roma. Meaning that every senator can talk two times on any issue and they continue to bring up the issues which you could at that time, I mean, completely poison the SAVE act, for instance, it doesn't have to be germane since every. Since it doesn't have to be germane because of the way the talking filibuster is. Every Amendment is a 51 vote threshold. So this thing, if we get into Roe v. Wade, the whole abortion issue again, there could be some real consequential votes that take place on that because now you're only hitting 51.
Buck Sexton

Clay, I mentioned this. I thought we a couple minutes chatting about it. Supreme Court decision came down and what the Decision of the court was by six, three. Just think about this for a second. Three Supreme Court justices would have kept this law. We know which three. The three insane ones. That the state of California had a school policy, that the gender transition of a student, who. We're talking about minors here, teenagers, 13, 14. It was California school policy not to tell parents if a kid was in the process of gender transitioning. That is demonic. It is inexcusable. It is unfathomable. It is only something you could do if you were in the grips of some kind of leftist delusion that somehow you know better as the school system or the state of California knows better than the parents of the child, or even just has more of a right to know than the parents of a child. But what this goes to, Clay, is this has always been the transing of the kids, has been about separating family bonds, replacing the ultimate authority in your life from being your immediate family to being the state and giving the state a level of absolute control. That it went down six, three is obviously a good thing, but that the state of California even had this law and that any judge in the process tried to affirm this, never mind three Supreme Court justices would have kept it. Your kid can be taking hormones and having people. Your kid, instead of being called Bob, is going to be called Sally. And you don't get to know. As a parent of the minor child. I had to get my. You know, I had to get all these things initialed by my parents at school all the time. If they gave me a bologna sandwich at school, I had to get my parents to initials it.
Clay Travis
It's. It's crazy. And I. I think actually this is important. New York and California are suing to demand that hospitals continue to provide minors trans care. Think about that for a minute. The state attorney general, Letitia James in New York and Rob Bonta, I think, is the attorney general of California. They're suing to try to demand that hospitals in the states continue to provide trans surgeries and care. When the hospitals, many of them are deciding they don't want to, and they're. They're making that decision Buck because of the $2 million verdict we just saw happen in Westchester, just outside of New York City. Let me give you a positive here. Wait, wait.
Buck Sexton
Can I just.
Clay Travis
Yeah, yeah.
Buck Sexton
Before the. Before the positive. Just because I think it's important, Clay, you know, the next step for California, New York is going to be to pass legislation at the state level to indemnify any hospital or medical provider from those lawsuits. And try to use state funds. They're going to try to, they're going to try to socialize the costs of these trans lawsuits onto, onto all taxpayers in those states if they can. I mean, I'm sure this gets into some very specific, specific legal realities.
Clay Travis
It's a challenge. But they, if they try to do that, then you're hanging it up in the court for years. Let me give you a positive. Vanderbilt University ended all trans care for minors. They basically have done away with surgeries in any way for people of any age. And so in my home state of Tennessee, what you're seeing is under federalism, many different states are saying, yeah, we've been, we are aware of what was happening. We're not going to allow it anymore. And again, this is where I think the plaintiff lawyers can be heroes. The plaintiff lawyers can be heroes. Buck's talking about something they could do to try to indemnify the hospitals and say, oh, it's public policy. We have to provide the surgery. And we will make sure that if you get sued that you're not required to pay the, to pay what the jury verdicts are or whatever else. I, I think that that is going to be very hard to do. And I would encourage everybody out there. We talked with the, the, the transitioner, Soren producer Ali will remember her name. She was great. In fact, Buck, I think you were out that day. She wrote a Wall Street Journal editorial. She actually suggested. And I think maybe when the war in Iran is resolved and we're not worried about that day to day basis, she said, I'll come on the show and take calls because there are a lot of parents and grandparents out there that have been told that they are being, that they're doing a disservice to their kids if they don't embrace this. Soren Aldaco is, is her name. And if you didn't listen to that, it's up on YouTube, it's up on the podcast. I think the conversation she had where she talked about the fact that she had her breasts removed and was convinced that she was a boy. And then as she aged, she realized that she wasn't actually, it wasn't actually. That wasn't actually the case. But they get these kids and they give them surgeries and then you come out of your, your phase. I mean, for many people, that's what it is. They're tomboys. And a lot of you are tomboys out there listening to us right now. And you ended up being very proud of the fact that you're a woman. But maybe when you were 12, 13 or 14 you didn't feel like you fit your body very much which is common in puberty. And that's why I think this is so particularly pernicious and awful. By the way Gene, in Alabama you are 72 years old and you love your Tesla. Do you think older people, people are coming after us? We'll have some fun with this. We've got some talkbacks of people making fun of me for having a Tesla. But Gene, what do you think? Are you like me just kind of blown away by it?
Gene (Caller)
Oh my gosh, I'm so blown away. I love my Tesla. Didn't think I would see this technology in my lifetime. And I do a lot of traveling to Jacksonville, Florida because of my younger son lives down there. I super, I charge here at the house. I get all the way to Tifton. I do the supercharged for 20 minutes and I'm into Jacksonville Florida with costing you less than $20.
Clay Travis
Crazy.
Gene (Caller)
So it's said it's fantastic. And when I came home from Jacksonville this last time my son asked me if I was tired. I said I'm not tired but you may want to ask the car because it drove the whole way and it was an eight hour trip.
Clay Travis
So you had it drive you for the eight hour trip. For people out there that are retirees, maybe they're not as comfortable behind the wheel as they used to be. It feels to me like a lot of them may not have tried this because it's new technology and they don't feel as comfortable. What made you decide to try it?
Gene (Caller)
Okay, so both of my sons have Teslas. We got them in August when we had got the $7,500 rebate.
Buck Sexton
Yep.
Gene (Caller)
And I was, I was very nervous. But my son took me out, he drove it first and showed me everything that I got in. And we kind of went around a school and places where there was no traffic and then each of them set up the, set it all up for me on the screen where you know, everything was just automatic. And now when I want to know something I just go on YouTube sends me videos all the time and I just watch all these videos.
Clay Travis
It really is remarkable.
Gene (Caller)
It is absolutely wonderful. And the thing that is is I don't think people realize what you're telling them when you say the car is driving itself. Yeah, I don't think they get it. I think it goes over their head.
Clay Travis
Well, thank you for the call. I think it goes over a lot of people's head because Unless you do this yourself, it's hard to explain how incredible it is. Now, you ready for VIP emails coming after us? Buck love the show, says Paul, but I have to say, you sound like a couple of girls talking about how little you like to drive. Real men love to drive.
Buck Sexton
I mean, I just, I, I don't even get into how much I want to be able to have like a little machine that files my nails and,
Clay Travis
you know, but I don't even. I think this is generational. I think like, older guys might feel like real men. Drive. I would rather work in the back of a car or work while I'm driving. Like, I want to be efficient. Driving is super inefficient. I can't do anything but drive. I hate traffic because I'm just sitting there. So I disagree. Stu says Buck's already a little light in the loafers. And Clay, Clay just joined him. I like Elon, but I find that tech beyond stupid. How well will that car work when your power's out for a week or two? Have a great day, you two swishy dudes. I. Well, first of all, you can still have a gas powered vehicle. If you want to have a gas powered vehicle, how often is your power out for two weeks? I. That seems like a long time. There are lots of charging stations all over the place. I have a generator if that makes me super masculine. So I don't think my power is going to be out that long here ever. VIP email from Anthony. Great show. You're wrong about autonomous driving vehicles. Remember the movie Fail Safe when the Air Force sergeant played by Dom DeLuise inserts a circuit board into the war room computer. It shorts it out. This starts a chain of events where the computer issues attack commands to the orbiting nuclear bombers and launches them to Moscow and they can't be recalled. Okay, you can drive the car yourself. Like you just take the wheel. I mean, if the car starts doing something that you don't want it to do, for instance, it doesn't recognize my address because we're in a new neighborhood. And so it started to pull the car into my neighbors this morning. I just put my foot on the, the brake and put my hand on the wheel and it goes wherever I want. I mean, you have still control to drive it.
Buck Sexton
If you want, you can have a brand new Airbus or Boeing with all the bells and whistles that has like a safety profile of failure, like 1 every 3 billion flying hours or something. Or, or you could be right there with the like the weak hydraulics of The Indiana Jones plane from Temple of Doom where there's like, you know, the chickens flying around and you gotta grab the handle and you gotta pull really hard and you can feel the cold air wish, you know, I mean, that's, it's manly to be flying that plane from the 1950s that's about to go into the side of the mountain. But it's statistically not as good as an idea. Not as good of an idea as being in the brand new, all the bells and whistles, state of the art plane. For your safety. I'm just saying this is the truth.
Clay Travis
I mean, to a large extent airplanes are autonomous now, right? I mean, much of the airplane is handled to my understanding. I don't fly, but big aircraft passenger there still is obviously pilots there, but they program them to a large extent once they are up in the air to take them where they need to go. And I'm just telling you, if you haven't tried it out, I'm not saying you have to go buy one. But I wanted something that was very safe for my kids and I wanted to be able to, to find something that was very affordable. And that combination is not always easy. And I, I'm blown away. I, I feel like I am seeing the future. And again, if you haven't tried it, I would just encourage you to try it out. And I'm not getting paid for any of this. I don't think Tesla spends a dollar on advertising. That might be a poor decision. Plus, as producer ali just said, 40,000 people a year die in car accidents. If we could take that to 20,000, that would be incredible. Just like we don't want murders. I would like to severely diminish the number of people who die in traffic accidents. And I think autonomous vehicles to a large extent have that ability to do it.
Buck Sexton
You know, also, I'm just going to tell you guys this. A lot of you probably grew up and you're like, you know, it's manly drinking a beer. You know what beer actually does? Makes you fat, gives you man boobs and raises your estrogen level. Facts, facts. I still like beer, but fair enough. But beer is like, manly is a total marketing scam. Total marketing scam. Nothing manly about beer per se. No more manly than having a sherry or having a glass of wine. And if anything, it raises your estrogen level. So it's kind of the opposite of manly, which people don't like to hear, but this is just biochemistry. Go check it out for yourself. Estrogen elevating beer gives you moobs you don't want moobs.
Clay Travis
True.
Buck Sexton
Yeah.
Clay Travis
You also. Well, this is a, probably not the transition that we, that we anticipated here, but IFCJ trying to take care of people all over Israel, no matter whether they drive cars or whether they let autonomous vehicles drive them everywhere. In all seriousness, it is a very dangerous time in Israel. And I went over there and I saw the work that this group does, the International Federation Fellowship of Christians and Jews. They do an amazing amount of work just for people who are in need. They bring food to people who don't have access to food. They build bomb shelters. As you're seeing, so many people in Israel are spending a lot of time in bomb shelters right now. They help to provide security at schools. They help to provide security for first responders. So they have bulletproof vehicles. I went and saw in the kibbutz's guys came and talked to me about the fact that when they arrived on that day and they were being shot at, they believe the reason they're alive is because there was added armor inside of their vehicles provided by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews tomorrow. So we're scheduled to have Yael Eckstein from the IFCJ on to tell us what life is like right now in Israel. But they could use your help to a great deal right now. We can say it now. Almost never do we have live mics. Last year, before you had your son, you and Carrie, you put people caught you saying that she was pregnant before you told anyone of all the things that could be caught.

Episode Theme: Trans Care Debate, Iran Crisis, and Current Events
In this hour, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton are joined by Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) to discuss the aftermath of recent U.S. and Israeli military action against Iran, the Trump administration’s foreign policy approach, and what “America First” means in the context of global crises. The hosts also debate the topic of government and parental rights in trans care for minors, highlight recent Supreme Court decisions, and engage with listener feedback on technology, masculinity, and autonomous vehicles. The episode blends serious political analysis with lighter moments on fitness, lifestyle, and generational divides.
[02:06–12:09]
Buck Sexton introduces the topic, asking for the senator’s view on joint U.S. and Israeli action against Iran.
“People that think this is another Iraq is just not understanding. We're not at war with Iraq, we're not at war with the Iranian people. This is to eliminate the threat that continued to come after us for 47 years.”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [04:09]
Mullin credits Trump’s leadership:
“At some point, someone's gotta do something with this threat and with the Ayatollah. He did it.”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [06:59]
“America First” Foreign Policy:
“Venezuela became the number one hub for drug exports into the United States... Every one of your listeners, including you and I talking, we know somebody that's been affected by fentanyl.”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [08:59]
[12:09–16:18]
“I have a ridiculous bench... my max is 405.”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [12:59] “I think it's good for everybody. I think it's mental health, right? It's my morning cup of coffee. I get up and go after it.”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [15:37]
[16:18–18:07]
“We'll get over 50 votes on it. We won't hit 60. Then the question is, what do you do with it?”
— Senator Markwayne Mullin [16:32]
[21:29–25:36]
Supreme Court decision highlights:
“It is unfathomable... that somehow you know better as the school system or the state of California knows better than the parents of the child.”
— Buck Sexton [23:18]
States' approaches to trans care for minors:
[28:19–35:24]
Call from Gene, a 72-year-old Tesla enthusiast:
“I love my Tesla... my son asked me if I was tired, I said I’m not tired but you may want to ask the car, because it drove the whole way.”
— Gene [28:41]
Host reactions and VIP emails:
[34:38–35:24]
“Beer is like, manly is a total marketing scam. Nothing manly about beer per se. If anything, it raises your estrogen level.”
— Buck Sexton [34:38]

The episode strikes a balance between serious political and cultural analysis and friendly, humorous banter. The hosts do not shy away from strong language on topics like gender transitions for minors (“demonic,” “unfathomable”), display admiration for physical fitness and self-improvement, and reflect generational divides through playful exchanges with listeners about technology, masculinity, and lifestyle.
This hour provides a rich mix of in-depth political debate—especially regarding America's evolving foreign policy posture and domestic social issues—and engaging personal stories and cultural commentary, capturing the distinct dynamic and appeal of Clay Travis and Buck Sexton’s show.
