Well, happy Saturday, everybody. We are sort of combining shows here. You've got the Tudor Dixon podcast and the David Rutherford show here together this morning. We are gathering together because we want to talk about everything, but I think first and foremost we have to say happy Flag Day and happy birthday, Mr. President. Don't you think?
David Rutherford
Oh, absolutely, man. Anybody that's made it to his age, 79 years old and, and after two assassination attempts, trying to ruin him for. For eight years, I. That man deserves a hell of a party today for sure.
Tudor Dixon
And he is going to have one, which I wanted to talk to you about because there's been some controversy. People have come out and said he shouldn't be doing this. And I wanted your opinion because I think about this and think our military has been so destroyed over the past four years. The Biden administration was so terrible to our military. There was no celebration. But it wasn't even that. It was that they were humiliated. They were fired for not taking a vaccine. It was diminished. They were told that they were better off if they were trans than if they were out there fighting. I mean, it was the woke. Involvement in the military was insane. I think that to me, this is a really significant move for President Trump to say, we love you, we honor you, we respect you, we think that you're incredible.
David Rutherford
Oh, absolutely. I mean, you know, I served under three different presidents, right? I served under Clinton the late 90s when I was in the SEAL teams. I served under, you know, George Bush Jr. During 9 11, post 911 and for black when I was at Blackwater. And then I served under Obama when I was at the Central Intelligence Agency and Clinton days. We had zero money for training, right? And then after 9 11, the golden Conex box opened up and we established ourself and our supreme dominance and control over different areas in the world. And one of the things that always kind of got me was how come we don't do the giant military parades? Why don't we flex on the world stage like that? Now some people say you flex enough by all the different conflicts you're engaged in. But I just think when you flex it for America in terms of that capacity, it really continues to build morale, which is at an all time high because of. Of Pete and his crew at the.
Tudor Dixon
Pentagon, but it was at an all time low. And I think that's the important thing for people to understand, because you come from this world, you are a Navy seal. You understand what this means. I watch. I've watched so many people say, man, we feel like we were crapped on. We feel like we've been less than. We feel like we haven't been taken care of. And people are mad about the. And they're mad about. They. They say that this is something that is dictatorial. It's not about President Trump at all. It is about honoring the men and women who serve.
Walton Goggins
I agree.
David Rutherford
And it's also honoring the American public. Right. One of the things that has traditionally been the most unifying component is the underlying ideology behind meritocracy in the military. You can go in the military and you can thrive if you meet a standard, if you orient yourself at the highest level in teamwork, if you participate in a selfless way towards the benefits of the American people. Right. So it's also to paying tribute to that heritage. And in a time where a majority of our institutions are really in question right now, I think it's a good thing to bring back the status of the US Military and its mighty.
Tudor Dixon
So I want to get into Israel, because we are. Yesterday there was a. An attack, I guess it was really, for us, it was Thursday night. It was throughout the night and into Friday morning. We are watching as Israel bombed, what was it, seven targets in Iran.
David Rutherford
It was quite a few. The biggest thing was the people they took out. Right. We had the supreme commander, the second highest commander. You had the head of the aerospace unit. And then you had three major nuclear scientists that were taken out. And so. And then the Natanz facility was significantly impacted. Now, what that battle damage report is. We don't have conclusive evidence yet, but we do know that the strategic nature was a mission success.
Tudor Dixon
So I was. I was telling you, I was on Newsmax this morning, and I was kind of taken by surprise because there's like, oh, there's these MAGA influencers who are not happy with the president over this. And I'm like, what in the. What is happening? First of all, this was Israel's choice. They decided to do this. They suffered a horrific attack on October 7th. And I think that people cannot forget that the number of people who died in Israel on October 7th would be the equivalent of like 30,000Americans dying. Do you think that if that happened on U.S. soil, which it could, based on the fact that we've had open borders and we don't know who's in this country, that America would stand by and do nothing?
David Rutherford
Well, no, America didn't stand by. It happened on 9, 11. I mean, when you look at the combined impact of not only the people who died that day, but the effects of, of the cancer and the impact on the cleanup reports, suicides, that, I mean, that's a significant number. And as a result, what did we do? We went to war for essentially 20 years. Right. I think what you're having is you're having a backlash because the President ran on a whole position of peace, and he said that I am going to be the president of all time. Peace, no more conflicts, no more wars. And I think what a lot of these people who believe that, in particular a large group of my generation of GWOT fighters, you know, they don't. They, they, they went over. Now, what we know about what Iraq and why we went, you know, that's questionable. And so I think what people are backlashing at is to say, hey, you said one thing, and now there's something else. Now, it was, it did come out that Rubio said that America did not participate in this in any capacity. This was an independent operation conducted. What was it? It was called Operation Raising lion and Rising Lion. And, you know, I think what you have is a very destabilized region. And what people are afraid of is that it continues to destabilize. And somehow, some way, we're going to find ourselves in another hot war in the Middle East. And I think that's where the pushback is coming from.
Tudor Dixon
Well, this is not a region that, I mean, it's not like the United States. And Donald Trump has been negotiating. He said he'd, he'd give them 60 days and he wanted them to denuclearize. We know that there's weapons there. I mean, I know you talk about going in for, for Iraq, going into Iraq. The weapons of mass destruction may not have actually been there, but we know that they are working on nuclear weapons. We know they have nuclear site. We know that Israel believes that they would be the target. And they've, it's not as though they've hidden this. I mean, the ayatollah and the supreme leader, whatever he is, he's out there tweeting every day that he wants to take them out, the Zionist regime, that's what he calls them.
David Rutherford
Well, it's not just, he's, he's not just professed taking out Israel, but he's professed taking out America, American interests as well. And they do have a significant arsenal. You know, the last reports from the Atomic Energy Agency reports that they're at about 60% uranium capacity, very easily taking that up to 90 with a stockpile about 274 kilograms and up to which could drive up to 92 and that's enough further to enrich about 10 nuclear bombs. Now, you know, when I was at Blackwater back in the day, I worked in on a project where we were helping to design a kind of a reconnaissance, maritime reconnaissance thing out of Azerbaijan in conjunction with their military to observe Russian and Iranian ships going back and forth in the Caspian Sea. And so this is, and if you really want to dig deep, go back and you read the former reports on A. Q. Khan, which was the person who really started global nuclear proliferation by selling Pakistan's nuclear secrets all over the place, many of which went to Iran, which really began their robust nuclear capacity and development. Now the other aspect is you have to understand what Iran's delivery systems are, right? And so you've got a ballistic arsenal like the Shabab 3 which can carry nuclear warheads with ranges up to 2,000 kilometers covering Israel and US bases in Iraq, Qatar and beyond. You know, when you start to think about the magnitude and some people say they have, you know, like three, three to 4,000 of these missiles. I tried to do a deep dive and research on how many drones they have, right. With long range capacity and it just couldn't, couldn't. It didn't even, it was like they have thousands of different types of drones that have up to 700 kilometer range right now. The last little point that I want to put out tutor is that if, if you don't think that American personnel are in jeopardy, then think again. Rough estimates there are somewh 50 and around 45 to 50,000 troops in the Middle east with main bases right in Qatar, main bases in Bahrain and Kuwait and Iraq. Right.
Tudor Dixon
We also, I want to stop you for a second because think about how significant that statement is that you just made when the person who was running against Donald Trump said, well we don't have anybody out there right now.
David Rutherford
That video killed me, man. Remember, it was the Marines. And they turn around, they're like, what are we? You know, and that's the thing. I think also that the American public in the backlash is trying to say, hey, listen.

David Rutherford
And that's the thing, I think also that the American public and the backlash is, is trying to say, hey, listen, you know, we have to be careful as this thing escalates, right? And yes, Israel is every day at an existential reality for sure, hands down. What I find interesting is some of the immediate responses from the Egyptians, from the Turks, from, you know, all the surrounding areas which have come out and said, this is bull, Israel didn't have the right, it's unprovoked, all of that. And so, you know, for me, what I'm praying for is peace across the board always. I don't want to see any more US Personnel, I don't want to see any more Israelis killed, you know, but you know, there's also a significant number of civilians that have been annihilated in the, in the Middle east in the last 24, 25 years as well. So hopefully the strikes were so profound that they had a deeply impactful thing and really set the Iranian nuclear program back by, let's call it 20 years or more, hopefully.
Tudor Dixon
Do you think it sets them back militarily? But I mean, if, if I'm looking at this as I am from the United States and I go, okay, they, they poked the bear. Like, there's no question the bear was poked. And they're very angry. We are being told by experts that it usually takes a few weeks for Iran to react to this, to something like this. What kind of weapons do, I mean, did they hit enough to really damage them or is this something that is going to become very ugly?
David Rutherford
Yeah, it absolutely is. I mean, they responded with immediate drones in response and don't forget, there was an attack on October 1st of 2024, where they launched about 200 ballistic missiles in two waves, targeting sites in Israel. Right. And that was Operation True Promise, the second. So they're going to respond. There's no doubt. They've already said it. They're gonna respond significantly. They've said they're gonna respond to US Military bases, to the. Which, you know, Trump. Trump obviously set up. If you attack our bases, we're going to drop the hammer on you, as he should, for sure. The question that you really have to think about, and this is the strategic initiative that is really, I think, a component that is the scariest for me. What was it last year, the year before Iran did a $400 billion oil deal with China? If now, all of a sudden, in futures, commodities, oil prices went up about 1% globally just today. Now, if that continues to rise, it's going to have an impact on China's ability to potentially get their oil, which then they could facilitate, what, supersonic missiles into Iran, because they have a direct route that comes through Afghanistan into Herat and into Iran. So they can supply missiles. Certainly Russia has the capacity to supply arms and missile systems as well, too. So, you know, what you're looking at is a global escalation potentially.
Tudor Dixon
Now, I will say there, I want to just say, when I was campaigning, I met with a few different generals, and we were talking about the impact of China back then. And they said, you've got to understand, Americans see this as dealing with a world leader similar to the president of the United States. But that's not the culture. That's not how they think death and, and war and all those things. They see it very differently. They are radicals, I think. I want to go back to what you said about people being upset because Donald Trump said he would be the no war president. He came in and he said, I'm going to negotiate with Putin. He has come out and he's been totally honest with the American people. He's doing things I don't like. He's not negotiating. This is a problem. Same same situation with Iran right now. But this is, to me, on the outside looking in. Obviously, I'm not in these conversations. I see this connection between Iran and China. I see the connection between China and Russia. This isn't looking great.
David Rutherford
No. And you know, the one thing that, that we always had going for him, and there's a couple great military people who've written some incredible books. There was an author, Graham, who wrote a book about you know, China's rising in terms of their militaristic and economic prowess against American a might and what that conflict in the future would look like. But what you have is you don't want to drive all of these people together. And that's what we saw with the new BRICS alliance. Right. And them trying to start their own currency and their own market community. And that creates a major shift in our, what, global prowess economically, certainly militaristically. We're the most dominant military on the planet. Nobody's even close right now. China is, you know, producing what. Sean, my, you know, my best friend Sean had a guy on recently, a former Navy Seal Team 6 guy who's getting contracts to build autonomous, like, drone boats for the US Military. And the numbers that he was rattling off were staggering. How rapidly China's military is improving.
Tudor Dixon
Their navy is the largest in the world when it comes to battleships. I mean, they're not trained like ours, and their equipment is not the same as ours. So you need to understand the difference. But they are larger and their ports are getting ever closer to the United States. And that is the caution that we have been talking about for years. And it's something that people don't really want to talk about. I think it's also important to note that this situation with Putin and China, remember, what was it? Was it 23 or 22 when they came together and they said they're looking for a new world order, the future will be different with them together. Joe Biden was allowing, I don't know if he was not there or what it was or whatever. The administration was allowing this.
David Rutherford
Blinken, for sure. Yeah, for sure. I'm with you. I agree. And I think when you start to look at strategic global alliances, obviously America and Israel have been tied at the hip from 1967, probably even you could go back from 1948 with Israel's inception. Right. And even before that, you could argue as well. You know, I think what you have is you have two things taking place right now. You have a shift in militaristic and global powers taking place between the unification of Russia, China, Iran and South Africa. Right. And you have also a glowing rise in socialism that's kind of sweeping the. The world as well, too. Look at South America right now. Pretty much the only democracy down there is Paraguay. So I think what's happening is there's a shift. There's a paradigm shift. So what do you do? You have to reestablish your military might in those moments, and I think that's what's taking place right now.
Tudor Dixon
Well, we will see how this weekend goes. We'll see what goes on today. We again wish the President a very happy birthday today. We wanted to get to what's happening with the whole. What are these riots called again? Oh, the no Kings protests, which we know are going to be riots. We're going to follow those throughout the weekend.
