Chalk Natural supplements for guys, gals and nothing in between. Fuel your day@chalk.com Bold, reverent and occasionally random. The Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck podcast starts now. Bill Belichick did an interview with CBS News as well. And he was asked a question about where he met his 24 year old girlfriend. I'm not sure how good this audio is going to sound, but Bill Belichick is 72 years old. He has got a 24 year old girlfriend. He is the head coach. Belichick is right now of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. So imagine. I know we got a big audience in North Carolina. He's in a Navy sweatshirt. I believe his dad was the coach at Navy. I bet the sweatshirt is older than his girlfriend. And this is what it sounded like when the reporter asked where they met. From off camera, Bill Belichick's girlfriend decides to interrupt. This is cut 15.
Reporter
The other change for Belichick is 24 year old Jordan Hudson, his creative muse. As he writes in his book, Jordan was a constant presence during our interview. You have Jordan right over there. Everybody in the world seems to be following this relationship. They've got an opinion about your private life. It's got nothing to do with them, but they're invested in it. How do you deal with that?
Bill Belichick
Never been too worried about what everybody else thinks.
Buck Sexton
Just try to do what I feel.
Bill Belichick
Like is best for me and what's right.
Reporter
How did you guys meet?
Becky
Not talking about this?
Reporter
No, no. It's a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on.
Producer
Okay, so 24 year old girlfriend just jumps right into the interview. Okay, so you got Joy Reid on the Roman Empire buck, you've got CBS 60 Minutes, and then you have the, the Belichick girlfriend. On the scale of crazy cringe, how would you assess the trio of interviews or commentary there? Because I got my ranking on crazy cringe. How would you. What is the craziest cringe, cringiest of those three?
Buck Sexton
I mean, we get Joy Reid, the Bill Belichick.
Producer
What was the other one, 60 Minutes saying? Like, hey, our guy resigned because we no longer have the freedom to do.
Buck Sexton
A show that's a gimme. That's pretty, pretty standard for 60 minutes stuff. I would say for me, the Bill Belichick thing is even cringier than Joy.
Producer
Reid on the Roman Empire.
Buck Sexton
You know, I will say this. I think that people, I've noticed this more that there are people that have started to try to police Age gap among consenting adults in a way that I think is weird and kind of. And pretty annoying. You know, people say, oh, well, you know, he's 15 years older than her. It's like, yeah, you know, she's 30, he's 45, or he's 50 and she's, you know. Or he. She's, you know, 50 and he's 15 years younger. 15 years old or whatever it may be.
Bill Belichick
But.
Buck Sexton
But, I mean, it's. It's not, you know, maybe that's not your thing, but people try to make it seem like there's something wrong with that. Yeah, I think that's really. That's obtuse. Like, there's nothing wrong with it. Like, you may not agree with it. You may not want that in your own life. You may not want that for your daughter, your son, whatever, that's fine. But there's nothing. You know, people try to act like there's a power imbalance that, like, the law should get involved almost, right? You start to see this. This creeping. Oh, well, he's 50 and she's 25, so they shouldn't be able to. No. Like, I will say with the Belichick thing, I don't think that, you know, it's fine. It's legal. Consenting adults, it's pretty weird. Like, there is a limit, is what I'm trying to get to here. Like, I have a very wide. I think you get, you know, you get.
Producer
You're willing to give 25, 30 years.
Buck Sexton
I'll give someone 25 or 30 years in an age gap. Again, consenting adults, obviously, I'll give somebody 25 or 30 years in an age gap. And I don't think that that's anybody's business. But the.
Producer
But 50 years.
Buck Sexton
50 years, Clay. That's pretty.
Clay Travis
That's.
Buck Sexton
That's pretty.
Producer
Wow.
Buck Sexton
I gotta tell you, I do not have a daughter. That would be me or you marry or not marrying, whatever, dating somebody who will be born in the next five to ten years.
Producer
Born funny. It's very funny. It's very funny. It's like that Saturday. One great skit they did for Saturday Night Live. Do you remember this buck? Was, meet your second wife. And, like, all the guys are standing there and the girls are walking out, and, like, the girl is, like, 6 years old. It's like the guy's like, 40, and there. And then, like, this woman walks out and. And I think it's the. The character standing there waiting, and he's like, oh. The girl's like, I don't know, 25 or 30. He's like, hey, that's not so bad. And, and then the woman says she's pregnant. It's like, so that is a really funny skit that Saturday Night Live did a few years ago. I am glad that I've got three boys. You now have a son. If I had a daughter and she brought home a man that she was dating that was older than me, I would lose it. I just, as much as you might focus on the girl being like 50 years younger and that's weird that she's interrupting the interview and all these things. Imagine what it's like at Thanksgiving when you open the door and legendary super bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick, who probably is a decade or 15 years older than you, is dating your baby girl. I think it would be really hard to have Thanksgiving dinner. I, I just, and I don't understand where this relationship goes. Cause to your point, if they were, let's say it's true love. Okay? Let's say that she is head over heels in love with 74 year old bill Belichick.
Buck Sexton
We're giving, we're giving a lot of, a lot of leeway here, but go ahead.
Producer
I am, I am saying Cupid's arrow has struck her in the heart and she cannot, cannot find another man that she loves more. 74 year old bill Belichick. In a decade, Belichick is going to be 84 and she's going to be 34. Basically, where does this math make sense going forward, right? Like 8. Most men don't live to be 84. Where does this go, right? Like, I don't really understand that. It's a simple math equation that I find it hard to even on your point, like 50 year old, 25 year old, okay, they're probably not going to have a 50 year marriage, right? Unlikely. He's going to live to be 100 and she's going to be 75, at which point, know whatever, good for them. But you could still be married 25 or 30 years, which is a long time. And in 25 or 30 years you could have a pretty good life for each with each other.
Buck Sexton
Well, I mean, also 50 year old, this is a whole thing. And I think a lot of you listening are living this and, and, and know this already without us saying it. But people in their 50s and 60s today are active, healthy and able to enjoy their lives much more frequently, you know, at that level than you, you know, they look like people who were 30 or 40 not too long ago. I Mean, the point on this and everything has changed a lot is just.
Producer
That we're being very generous and saying 25 or 30 years. Like, you may not like it, but we're at least saying, okay, at some point your eyebrows raise. I'm not sure where the number is. 50 is 1.
Buck Sexton
This is what I was getting at, is that I'll give it 25 or 30. It's like, you know, hey, you know, true love.
Producer
A lot of people would rip us for saying we're giving you 25 or 30. I think we're being super kind.
Buck Sexton
It wouldn't be my choice. Okay. Like, I would not have gone that route. I think that having somebody who is in a similar stage of life to you, you know, I think my. My personal belief, not really. I think anything within 10 years is sort of standard operating. At least in New York City it is standard operating procedure. So most guys who get married that I know are, let's say, 35, and their wives are 28, 29, 30. You know, I mean, like that, that's the. That's the standard there. The guy's usually a little bit older. You're actually, you're younger than your wife, right? Which is unusual among friends of mine. I don't know if I know anybody else. I actually. My friend Eric, who you met, Eric Win the watch guy. I think his wife is a year or two older than him. But, you know, generally speaking, you know, within five.
Producer
My wife is two years older than me and looks 20 years younger. Did I tell you this fucking. We were at a football game with my kids at the Tennessee, Alabama game. My wife went to the bathroom and the woman behind me said, your daughter is lovely, nice. Which I told Laura and I would like maybe be a little bit nervous. She's actually two years older than me, living so much better than me that she looks 20 years younger that that woman. Because I had my kids, our sons, that the woman behind me, who was probably, I don't know, 15 years older than me, said, your daughter looks lovely. So my wife, who is older than me and has birthed three sons, including one who is 17, the lady behind me thought that she was like a college age girl going to the bathroom. By the way, producer Ally, eight years older than Gerard. So on the show, there you go.
Buck Sexton
I'm just saying, I think, and I know this is maybe different in different cultural enclaves of the country. I think anything within 10 years is totally standard operating procedure. Like that doesn't even, I think, you know, you get up to 20 years plus age difference. OK, you know, it's again, not my thing, but like, you know, true love is blind, right? Like people do their thing.
Producer
50 years is weird.
Buck Sexton
This is where we're drawing, this is where we're drawing the line. 50 year age difference. It's again, it's legal, it's lawful, that's fine. But it's, it's weird. There's something weird going on. Very weird.
Producer
We agree on that.
Buck Sexton
Oh, the lines are lit. Yes. The beehive has been. I don't even think the beehive has been kicked. We've just sort of let the beehive buzz because we talked about something that people feel passionately about. Age differences between married couples. And Becky in North Carolina, Becky, I am told by our team that you have celebrated 27 years of marriage with a husband with whom you have a 31 year age gap. Congratulations. How's it all going? What do you think?
Clay Travis
Hi.
Becky
It's great. And actually we're, we're not at 27 yet. We're, we're coming up on the 27th anniversary.
Buck Sexton
Okay.
Becky
We were married in 1998. I was 26. My husband and I actually, I took him last month for his birthday on a cruise. He just turned in March. He just turned 84. And I'm 52. And we have. God gave them to us. We have birthed. I birthed our two sons. One's 23, one's 20. And my husband was 60 when our firstborn was son and 63 when the second one was born. And so, yeah, we've been married almost 27 years and we are 31 and a half years apart in age. And it's great.
Producer
All right, 31 and a half years apart in age. What would be a number to you that you would look at and say, that's too big of an age gap?
Walter
Pretty good.
Buck Sexton
Okay, I like the answer. I like the answer.
Producer
This is actually a really funny. How did you meet?
Becky
Well, we met actually. I was 19. We didn't get married till I was 26. We met. I was an X ray student and I was rotating through the hospital where he's a physician. He was a radiologist. That's what he did.
Buck Sexton
Doctor, nurse, doctor, nurse.
Walter
Situation.
Buck Sexton
Very nice.
Becky
No, no, no, no. I wasn't a nurse. I was an X ray technologist. I took, I took away. And he read.
Bill Belichick
I mean, yeah.
Becky
And so after, after a number of years we became friends right off. And after a number of years I realized, well, he's making like 15 times my salary. I better Marry him and get in on this money.
Producer
No, Becky is a shrewd.
Buck Sexton
A shrewd lady. Congrats on all your happy marriage, Becky. Appreciate you calling in Sunday.
Producer
Hang with Clay. Walter, you have been married for 13 years. You say you are 69 years old. Your wife is 32. So you are 37 years older than your wife.
Bill Belichick
Yes, sir.
Producer
All right, so you have been married for 30.
Buck Sexton
Can I just say, Walter, currently reigning champion.
Producer
Let me make sure I got this math right, Walter. You were 56 and you married a 19 year old.
Bill Belichick
She was actually. She was actually. Just turned 24. Just turned 21 when I met her.
Producer
I mean, just turned 21 when you met. How did you meet your wife, who is this much different in age than you? 37 years younger.
Bill Belichick
Okay. Whichever one of you worked for the CIA, I love this. My son works for the CIA, and his wife and him often had Filipino maids. They said, if you're going to get remarried, you need to go to the Philippines. They love Americans. They love everything about Americans. And that's what I did. I got online, met a Filipino and went and saw her. Took about a year for her to come to the United states on a K1 visa, passport, whatever, and we got married 30 days later. And, you guys, I can tell you what the limit should be. What's the limit should be? The limit should be when you can't perform. Normal marital issues. And one of those is having children. I have three children with her. She blessed me at 60 years old with my last child. I got cut after that. I have five children that are all older than her.
Buck Sexton
Can I say I like how we're. We're like, all in the trust tree here. It's just the three of us and about 3 million people listening, and we're just, you know, we're just laying it out there.
Producer
So you have eight total kids?
Bill Belichick
Yes, sir.
Producer
And you had your oldest. Sorry, you were how old when your youngest was born?
Bill Belichick
My 60.
Producer
Okay. Well, thank you for the call. I'm glad it's going well. There you go.
Buck Sexton
The marriage has been great. I assume. It sounds like it's worked out really well for you. We love hearing about happy marriage.
Bill Belichick
It has been. But, you know, everybody has their. Their things that are important to them. You know, I don't know what's important to Belichick's wife, but what's girlfriend?
Buck Sexton
Well, this is a good. To be clear, sir, this is a. This is a, you know, like an Instagram girlfriend kind of a thing. Yeah, they're not. There's no kids, no marriage here. So just putting that out there.
Producer
We've got. Thank you. We've got two more. This one is kind of an upset.
Buck Sexton
I just want to be. Is he the reigning champion at. What was that?
Producer
37, 37 years? Yes. And then we've got multiple people with 30 year age gaps. Let's see. Allen, she is 30. She's 23. Oh, that's nothing. You're a three. 23.
Buck Sexton
20. Some of those are rookie numbers. We got to get those numbers.
Producer
You got to do better than that. Alan Craig in Florida. Florida. A lot of Florida men. Craig. 34 years older than his wife. Craig, how old were you when you got married?
Walter
Let's see. Well, I'm 70 now, so it was what, about 57, 58.
Producer
Okay. And your wife was how old when you married her?
Walter
How old were you, honey, she's listening on the radio and she's hiding. She's ducked her head. She. She's ducked her head.
Bill Belichick
Well, I'm.
Walter
I'm 34 and a half years older. She just turned 36.
Producer
So how did you meet? So you're 70, basically, and she's mid-30s. How did you meet?
Walter
I was a professor at a college and she was one of my students.
Buck Sexton
Oh, there we go.
Producer
Goodness. All right.
Buck Sexton
There we go.
Producer
She better stay hidden. I won't ask you, you know what it is, Clay?
Buck Sexton
You know, some ladies just can't resist a guy in a tweed jacket with elbow patches, you know, that's just the way.
Producer
Do you guys have kids?
Buck Sexton
Craig.
Producer
Okay, Melanie in Houston has called in. This is the first woman. She is 32 years younger than her husband. Melanie, how are you?
Becky
Hi.
Clay Travis
I'm doing great. It's good to talk to you.
Producer
So you are the woman who has had the. We had Becky Call in 31 and a half. You were 32 years age difference. How old were you when you got married?
Clay Travis
I was 41.
Producer
Oh, okay. Well, see, like this. Now I'm gonna like.
Buck Sexton
So your husband age. I think once you. Once you hit 40, it's like you're a fully. Like the potato was fully baked. You know what I mean? You are who you are, and so that doesn't you. So I think that that's interesting that, you know, it's more when we get the people that are like 19 marrying a 50 year old that I think there's a generational gap that exists there. You know, that that's pretty prominent. That's what you want to say, though.
Clay Travis
He served 24 years in the Air Force and He was an incredible man, just a great American. We met while volunteering for local rodeo, Pasadena, Texas Rodeo. And he just, just, his personality was overwhelming. He was so kind. He was so sweet. He treated my two children like they were his own. He had four grown boys, all older than me. They never accepted me. They, they never liked me. I took care of him actually, in our home until the day that he passed from cancer. And I just, I was very blessed. And everyone, everyone whose life he touched, his name was Billy Graham, just like the preacher. Everyone who he touched was blessed.
Producer
Well, thank you for the call.
Buck Sexton
Thank you so much. And it's a, we love hearing these lovely stories about marriages that work out and, and it go, go a very long ways in terms of the duration. We'll come back, we'll do some more of, some more of these calls for sure. I'm, this has been, this has been very, very illuminating. Very interesting. Talking about the Bill Belichick, it's 50, right? He's like a 50 year age gap.
Producer
Yeah, he's 74, I believe, or 72. And she's 24, 48 years.
Buck Sexton
I guess that's the biggest age gap I have heard of certainly, you know, since the Anna Nicole Smith era. So that's the biggest age gap I've, I've ever heard of. We're wondering what the biggest age gap was in this age gap was in this audience. I just tell you right now, those of you who are writing in or calling in, we appreciate it. We hope you have a great marriage, lots of kids, beautiful lives. 20, 20 year age gap. That's, that's rookie numbers. That's rookie numbers. These days. We've all, we got a whole slew of 30 plus that are calling in, writing in. So it is not as unusual as some may think to have people married and seemingly happily. And we certainly hope that that is the case for all of our listeners. You have a great happy marriage, but 30 year age gaps aplenty in this audience. Which is, which is pretty fun, pretty funny. But before I get into that, speaking of happy marriages, Clay, my understanding is that there was quite a fiesta at Casa Clay Travis over the weekend. Are we allowed to talk about this or we banned.
Producer
Laura may want to come on tomorrow because it's the very end of the show. My wife, every year in the neighborhood they have a yard sale. 60s she says houses had yard sales. They do it one time a year in the neighborhood. Every year I ask why we are doing a yard sale. And every year I am shouted down as a as a imbecile for asking this question. So I don't understand it. I don't know very many men out there that are huge yard sale people. Maybe there are tons of you out there right now. They're like, you know what? I would love to spend the weekend doing yard sales. Women are obsessed with yard sales, Buck. It is the craziest thing I've ever seen. They start showing up at the crack of dawn. There are very few things I would wake up for at the crack of dawn on a weekend. And the entire house was swarmed with people buying stuff at our house. And I just. I mean, I don't get it. I don't understand why women love yard sales.
Buck Sexton
Were there some Thundercats pillowcases as I asked? I mean, what are we talking about? Maybe some. Some Ghostbusters costumes.
Producer
Lots of the boys are getting older, so lots of costumes. Lots of Batman sheets. You wanted Thundercats? It is.
Buck Sexton
Can I ask? I mean, let's be honest. Clay is.
Producer
Is a.
Buck Sexton
Is a T shirt that is old and worn in, but worn by Outkick founder Clay Travis. Is that a selling point? Is it like, you know, like the water that a saint has bathed in or something?
Producer
Or how does that. You know what? You know what the one calamity is? I need to apologize. Dana Perino's autographed book that she had just sent to me accidentally got sold.
Buck Sexton
Oh, man.

In this episode of Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck, hosts Clay Travis and Buck Sexton delve into the controversial topic of significant age gaps in relationships, sparked by recent news about NFL legend Bill Belichick. The discussion is both candid and humorous, engaging listeners with personal anecdotes and societal observations.
The episode opens with Buck Sexton recounting an interview featuring Bill Belichick, the renowned head coach now affiliated with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. Belichick, aged 72, has a 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. Buck humorously critiques the situation, noting Belichick's attire and the age disparity:
Buck Sexton [01:11]: "Bill Belichick is 72 years old. He has got a 24-year-old girlfriend... I bet the sweatshirt is older than his girlfriend."
Buck highlights the intrusive nature of media scrutiny on Belichick's private life, emphasizing the discomfort both parties feel when discussing their relationship.
The hosts then transition to a broader discussion about societal perceptions of age differences in relationships. Buck Sexton expresses frustration with the undue policing of consensual adult relationships:
Buck Sexton [02:25]: "There are people that have started to try to police age gap among consenting adults in a way that I think is weird and kind of... pretty annoying."
Buck differentiates between what he considers acceptable age gaps (up to 25-30 years) and extreme disparities (like Belichick's 50-year gap), questioning the legitimacy of societal judgments:
Buck Sexton [04:15]: "50 years, Clay. That's pretty... That's pretty weird."
The show features several callers who share personal experiences with significant age differences in their marriages, adding depth and real-life perspective to the discussion.

Melanie [17:03]: "He was so kind. He was so sweet. He treated my two children like they were his own."
Each of these stories underscores the complexity and personal nature of age-gap relationships, challenging the hosts to consider varying perspectives.
Clay and Buck commend the callers for their enduring and loving marriages, reflecting on the challenges and societal judgments they might face. Buck emphasizes the normalcy of significant age gaps in certain cultural settings:
Buck Sexton [09:59]: "Anything within 10 years is totally standard operating procedure... up to 20 years plus age difference."
Clay shares his own experiences, contrasting his lack of interest in such relationships with the positive stories presented by the callers.
The conversation shifts towards media representations of age-gap relationships, referencing a Saturday Night Live skit that humorously depicted a significant age difference. The hosts use this to further illustrate societal discomfort and the often superficial judgments passed on such relationships.
Additionally, the producer shares personal anecdotes about their family life, including humorous takes on yard sales and interactions at public events, adding a light-hearted tone to the serious discussion.
As the episode nears its end, Buck Sexton summarizes the key takeaways, acknowledging that while large age gaps are becoming more common and accepted, they still evoke strong reactions. The hosts express appreciation for the callers' openness and reaffirm their commitment to discussing diverse and sometimes controversial topics with empathy and humor.
Buck Sexton [18:48]: "I guess that's the biggest age gap I have heard of certainly, you know, since the Anna Nicole Smith era."
The episode concludes with light banter about recent events and a tease for future discussions, maintaining the engaging and conversational tone characteristic of Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck.
Buck Sexton [02:25]: "There are people that have started to try to police age gap among consenting adults in a way that I think is weird and kind of... pretty annoying."
Buck Sexton [04:15]: "50 years, Clay. That's pretty... That's pretty weird."
Becky [10:54]: "We've been married almost 27 years and we are 31 and a half years apart in age. And it's great."
Walter [12:55]: "I was 57 when I married her. She just turned 36."
Melanie [17:03]: "He was so kind. He was so sweet. He treated my two children like they were his own."
This episode of Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck offers a nuanced exploration of age-gap relationships, balancing humor with thoughtful critique.
