Hey, we want to welcome everybody out there to another edition of the Collage podcast. I hope you are having a great day today. We are very excited. We have a special guest today with us, we have Ms. Rachel. And Rachel is in temple here. She is going to be our guest today, and she has an unbelievable amount of talent, and she's going to share some of her gifts with us today. We're going to talk a little bit to Rachel and get to meet her a little bit, kind of talk about her story a bit, and we'll have an interesting conversation. Isn't that right, Ms. Rachel? Every time we have a great conversation.
B
So how about saying hello, hello, everybody, and welcome. Temple is going to literally change the world because it has earth angels right here in it. And these are good people who will welcome you and help you go, hey.
A
Excellent job, Ms. Rachel. So real quick, tell everybody out there, because they don't know you as well as I do. Tell everybody out there. I don't. It's kind of rude to ask a lady her age. Is that. Would you say that's rude? But tell us a little bit what you would want anybody out there to know about Rachel.
B
One of God's biggest secrets is the closer you get to him, the younger and stronger and wilder and happier do you get. And I am 85 and more alive than ever.
A
Agreed. So Ms. Rachel is 85. She is. We're in here. Where we're at is a little place called Temple, Texas. It's a town here in Texas.
B
Unknown now, but the whole world will recognize the beauty and the magic of meeting, greeting, and helping each other, like fingers on a hand.
A
Amen. So Rachel is going to share. So to keep the suspense building for just a bit, she has written a song for temple that we're going to share a little bit. And so Rachel is somebody we have been working with, myself and a person here in temple named. Can we say Nancy's name?
B
Yeah, Nancy.
A
Oh. So she's been working with Nancy at the city, and we've been trying to find a good place for Rachel to stay inside. Correct. And we've been having her. We got in a hotel room right now. And so every day we bring her up here to feed my sheep. And then she comes, and she loves on the women at the well, and. And she's so good. And we have lunch here together, and then we go back to her hotel. And we stay there for a little bit, and then we do that again. And we've learning that Rachel has some unbelievable talent. So maybe just to kind of start this so we kind of ease into it. It is Christmas season when we're recording this, right? Yeah, it is getting that time of year. We just had Thanksgiving. So, Rachel, would you mind starting us off? Just kind of warm up a little bit with maybe Silent Night?
B
I'll get back to that in just a little bit. But first of all, people, I want to tell you there are men and women and children who have never been hugged. You cannot and must not overlook the power of saving people's lives first, because you can forget saving the soul if you're not saving the life. Because Jesus himself came and said, I came, that you should have life and have it more abundantly. And believe me, I know that there are many, many people who are just begging for somebody to just care enough to touch them. Just touch them. Not just with words, but people. Hug somebody as soon as you can, like immediately, as Robin Williams would say, if not sooner, for their sake and for yours. And that's what he meant by loving on them. Oh, my fiance would be horrified.
A
Oh, you're right.
B
That people got the wrong impression.
A
You are right, Ms. Rachel. I did.
B
So now I'm going to sing for you. Okay? Okay. And you're welcome to sing with me if you want to. Okay. Okay. I'm going to sing Silent Night. Oh, no, wait a minute. Am I going to sing Silent Night or am I going to sing the song about Temple?
A
We're going to. That's how we're going to close out is the song from Temple.
B
Oh, we're going to just close with the big song about great Temple. That sounds fantastic.
A
Sit back. Yeah, there we go. And now sing like that. So here we go.
B
Silent night Holy night All is calm.
A
All.
B
Is bright Round yon virgin Mother and child Holy infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace.
A
Am I allowed to clap for you? That was beautiful.
B
Thank you.
A
It's beautiful. You are so, so talented. And your singing is absolutely beautiful. And then I like. Go ahead.
B
I started singing when I was 4 years old for people and a church my aunt went to way back a long, long time ago. And believe it or not, I still remember that little song.
A
Now, any other Christmas favorites you have out there, or do we want to move on to a different topic? It's your choice. It's your conversation.
B
Let me think for a little while while I decide what maybe People really want and need to hear. Let me think.
A
Well, then while you're thinking, I'll kind of explain a little bit out there. And you'd be thinking of our next musical piece.
B
Oh, I know I can do one. That's real simple. It's of a little Diddy, a kindly little work song that might just lighten your hearts today as you're doing a job maybe you really don't like that much. So here it is.
A
What is this?
B
Jesus, my savior Will lighten my load Lighten my load he'll lighten my load Jesus, my savior Will lighten my load As I go along the way Jesus, my savior will show me the way show me the way More and more each day Jesus, my savior Will show me the way As I go along his way thank you. I hope you enjoyed that little work song. And remember, sometimes God will tell you, don't think about it, just do it.
A
Beautiful. Like I'm telling you, my smile on my face is huge. Like, Kieran, you sing is beautiful. And then like you say, the amount of life that you have is incredible. Like, so Rachel is just full of energy and always so positive and really love, like, it's very nice to people in the right way. So inappropriate way. So let me ask you. Okay, so we're new to temple. You haven't been here a long time, like, kind of new to this area.
B
Yes. But I wanted to say something that didn't quite get in there a while ago.
A
Okay.
B
And I wanted to kind of bring out a little of the comedian in me. And also my sweetheart. Uh.
A
Oh, Nellie.
B
Uh. Oh. I meant for this to come right after the Christmas song.
A
Okay.
B
But there was this little child in Sunday school who kept acting, who is Long John Silver.
A
What in the world?
B
You have to think about it for a while, folks. But sometimes children get things a little bit mixed up. And as we know, is that really is not the song, but the little child thought it was. So listen to little children, because sometimes they can make you laugh, sometimes they can make you cry, but always they can surprise you.
A
Yeah.
B
With just how truly, truly amazing they are. So listen to your little children, because you might learn something.
A
Yeah.
B
The smartest thing I ever heard from anybody on this planet came from my own son. And he told me when he was still pretty small, he said, mother, everybody needs to play. But some people play violently, and some people play non violently. And folks, you heard it from my son a long, long, long time ago. His name was and may still be David Andrew Wicker. If you are out there anywhere. Call your mama. No, I'm just kidding. I don't have a phone anymore. But, hey, remember we used to have magic? Remember the magic that we had? Why you and my daughter, we were three. Three who could hear each other when we needed each other. Let's get back to having that. Like working with three fingers again. Because God is listening. And God is sending messages of love to everybody on this planet and from other people that they love. For people, you have to learn how to listen. Learn to listen to God and learn to listen for your loved ones. Because sometimes they need you so much, and sometimes you need them so much. People, we must all work like fingers. The ten fingers on our hands. We must all learn to help each other. That's the secret. That is really the only secret to a happy life. And remember, Jesus said, I came that you should have life and have it more abundantly. People, start now. I saw a plaque not too long ago. Yes, it was at Dollar Tree. And yes, people have probably seen it a million times, but this time it was like a command from God and it said, be happy. And I went, oh, you know what? That is a good idea. And the reason that it is such an excellent idea is because you will be blinking, blinking, blinking, blinking, blink if you don't agree. So be happy, be happy and make the best of today. Be happy, be happy any way you can. Any way you can. Make it the best that you can. Because, folks, I'm 85 and still, how am I ever outside? More than ever. More than ever. Oh, my Lord, I could talk to you for days and weeks and never stop. Are you telling me not to? That's okay. That's quite all right. I don't have to tell you everything, do I? But I want to tell you as much as I can so that you will have the absolute best, best, absolute gift that you possibly can. And in all my 85 years, here is what I can give you that I think are the best words to immediately start becoming a co creator with God of your own reality. And simply start telling yourself in your mind and verbally and tell other people the same thing is we are all richly blessed with all that is at all times. Thank you, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. People, there is your crew. There is your fantastic clue that you've been hoping and praying for. It's right there in the King James version of the Bible. It is called the Holy Bible because God let me win the lottery. The lottery that God had that most people probably never would have dreamed they could Come even close to. I've always been kind of the yes, I can. Yes I can. Yes, I will. I know I'm small and cross eyed. Oh, God, don't remind me of my big nose. Yes, I have that big nose that goes with my family. But so did Jimmy Durante. And he was my first hero because he made the best of everything with the worst of everything. And one of the things God told me recently is let the problems be the solutions. Now, folks, God does things in really strange ways sometimes. And as a matter of fact, when he got me to Seattle is he told me, see what you don't see. And I went, come on, God. We've gone through a lot of crazy things together, but see what I don't see? So I had to really pray and really think. And the first thing he showed me was like, no barbed wires. Now, I came from Texas, folks, and you know that there are barbed wires everywhere you go. Everywhere you go you see barbed wires. And not only that, but I didn't see anybody fussing and fighting in the streets. Po. Whoa. Not anybody. Not anybody. Not like in Texas, where you see people about ready to pull out their pistol. Wow. So there was number two. And then I saw, unlike Texas, where even the cars have black, you know what in the window where you can't see what's going on and where, when you pass all the buildings is, you wonder, like, wonder if the mafia is behind that black curtain. Well, maybe you don't, but I did. And anyway, as a matter of fact, I had to survive the mafia at one time, yes, they did give me 10 days to get out of town. Fortunately, God had other plans made for me and everything all set in Los Angeles, California. Okay, but that's another story.
A
Another story. Rachel, you got a lot of words. So we're going to come back to where we kind of started early in this deal. Tell me what we were talking about a long time ago of how wonderful you think the people of temple are because you've met a lot of new people. And what do you call the people here in temple?
B
Earth angels.
A
Agreed. So the people here in Temple, Ms. Rachel has met and she's. She's seen all the people and she goes, the people of Temple, they're God's earth angels.
B
They really, really are.
A
What does that mean to you, Ms. Rachel?
B
People from heaven have come down for this marvelous, and I do mean earth, changing plans that God has to create temple for earth angels to come and work together, the meet, greet, and become complete. There are several ways that you can do it. But God has shown me we must be of one mind, the way that he and his heavenly helpers are in order to be the way that we need to be to truly be heavenly helpers to people who are crying out desperately in pain for somebody to help them. And you know, people that, you know, some people who are on the verge of nervous collapse, breakdown, suicide, whatever you want to call it is there's people more and more and more all the time. And it will continue because people, y'all have to accept we're in the end of the end and then some. But it's going to be a glorious, glorious end for certain people because they won't be so worried about their own selves and their own problems. You know why? Because they're helping other people.
A
Agreed.
B
And their minds are on other people too much to think about their own problems. And in so doing. Surprised. Amazing. Wow. Can you believe it? Their miracles are happening because God is seeing that they are valuable and that in helping other people, God is helping them.
A
Agree.
B
I hope think of other people first and God will be right there.
A
I agree.
B
Right there. Amazingly, magically, miraculously, with all that you want in need. And so many times people, as you may think you want and or need a certain thing or a certain person, and they are already there waiting for you, waiting for you. Like this man right here. My Uncle Fred.
A
That's right.
B
Oh, my Lord Jesus, I am so thankful these people have adopted me as if I were family. Well, you are family, Rachel, and I am family. I am family them. And this goes back to be sure you learn how to hug.
A
Yeah.
B
Learn how to hug the way you want to be hugged and really show people how important they are and what's.
A
Yep. And I'm not cutting you off. So Rachel, we're learning and we're getting to know that. That she's meeting her temple family. And then we're caring for Ms. Rachel and we're watching after because we're family. We're different family.
B
But hint, hint, they started feeding me first because I had passed out where I came from, from lack of food.
A
Yep. So we did. We started feeding Ms. Rachel and we realized we needed. We need to eat. And then we realized, you know what? Your family. And she needs a place to stay inside.
B
Anytime you see a homeless person, ask them, do they need water? Are they hungry people? This has to be told. Okay. What people need to be doing before they do much of anything else for homeless people is setting up these little porta potty things. People this is their number one problem. Whoops. Well, anyway, I wasn't making a joke, but you can take it like that. And the number two is even worse.
A
Ah, comedian right here. Give me five on that one. Rachel. Boom. So out of the. As you can see, Rachel is full of life. She's very funny. We laugh often. We've had some amazing times together. And Ms. Nancy is helping with her. So in honor of all the people in temple, Rachel has written a song. And we're going to close out with the song for everybody in temple to hear. It's just part of it. I'm going to say this, and Rachel's song is going to speak for itself. But all of us in this whole area, if you're listening to this in temple or wherever you are, okay, you can help. And we're all part of the same family and we all care about each other and we all should watch after each other and. And we're part of this. And then out of this, like Rachel says, incredible things are going to occur here in temple. They're already starting to occur. But God is going to do amazing things with the people of temple here and. And then out of this, that life and life abundantly. People will have that like that when people come to temple and the people that are in temple, they don't just sort of, sort of survive or not even really survive, but they have life and they're full of life. They're like Rachel, that we would look for the joy and how do we help and serve others?
B
And so God is going to call the people who live here temp lights. L I G H T Because we will be the light of the world for Jesus Christ.
A
Amen.
B
Who really is the light of the world and puts the light in those of us who are earth angels.
A
Okay, so in it for conclusion. This is our big. Can I do a drum roll? This is so Rachel is going to end it final. Drop the mic. Deal a song she has written for the people of Temple. This is a Rachel original for the people of Temple.
B
All you Rachel, be a star Be a star Be the very best that you are we'll show you how to do your best we'll show you how to pass every test show the world how wonderful you are. Be a Tim like star.
A
Rachel. Marvelous. Marvelous. So what a magnificent day for everybody out here to get to meet Ms. Rachel and to be part of her story. We have now got this forever. It's going to stay in a beautiful recording. We have your voice, we have a little bit of Your story and your gift you've shared with Temple and for everybody out there in temple to hear it plainly and clearly. In no, no small ways. Lives are changed in this community by people caring for each other and working together. We are stars in a story where the true star is God himself, but he allows us to be a light pointing to him. And what an amazing thing Rachel is. Showed us hope. It brought joy as you're driving in your car and you got to listen and you get to play it again and again of Miss Rachel singing Christmas hymns for us or the brand new original song about Temple. So what we would say every time here as we do a podcast, we would say that we do everything we do here. What we're about is this simple truth that people matter. Rachel matters. She matters. And we would say, Bobby, in this room, he matters as well. And even Jeff matters. And I would say, everybody who's listening to this, you matter. You matter. Not because I said it, but because God himself said it. He said he created you and he made a masterpiece when he created you. And then he also is telling us, and we'll be done with this, is that the answer lies with God, but he also lies with us realizing that we need to work together and we can change this. So hopefully, everybody out there, you will say a prayer with us that Ms. Rachel can find a place to stay inside that we really like, and that we could find a place like that. And Rachel can find a place with her new Temple family that she's happy with and that we can celebrate and she can come work up here and we can do stuff or we can do whatever we need to do. But Rachel, thank you for taking time. Thank you for listening to this episode of the Collage podcast, a production of Redcord Media.
