Whispering. Jelly beans, jelly beans, Jelly beans. Daily beans. Hello and welcome to the Daily beans for Friday, August 30, 2024. Today, more sickening details of Trump's campaign stunt at Arlington National Cemetery have been revealed. Second quarter GDP growth has been adjusted to 3%, exceeding all expectations. Donald is putting all his attention winning the debate and courting QAnon because he doesn't know how else to run against Kamala Harris. Another SpaceX rocket has burst into flames. Trump's campaign advisers are telling ABC to ignore Trump and mute the mics for the debate. The Department of Justice Inspector General says the FBI is still falling short in child sex abuse cases. And RFK Jr. Is forced to carry his candidacy to term in North Carolina with possible devastating consequences for Donald Trump. I'm your host, Alison Gill. Hey, everybody, Happy Friday. Happy Friday. It's Friday. I'm very happy that it's Friday. Thank you so much for listening for hanging in with me all week. I know Dana's been out. She will be back next week and I look forward to having her back. I think she comes back Wednesday. She is out doing her thing, being funny, telling jokes, bringing merriment and joy to the world. So we always support her in her endeavors. Also, there will be a bonus for cleanup on aisle 45 that's in the can and you should get it soon if you're a patron of that podcast. And it's Friday here on the Beans, which means it's Fugal sang Friday. So I get to speak to my good friend John Fugalang later in the show and we get to talk about how I'll be with them in the Sexy Liberal tour in Phoenix on September 28th at the Arizona Financial arena. And I'm very much looking forward to that. There are tickets available and we'll talk about that with John Fugal saying in a bit, along with a bunch of other stuff, don't, don't get me wrong, we're not just going to talk about the live show, but today I am angered and sickened by what we're learning about Trump's disrespect to our fallen heroes at Arlington. And that's where we'll start with the hot notes. Hot notes. All right, this new reporting comes from John Marshall at Talking Points Memo. And if you don't follow or subscribe to tpm, I recommend that you do. This story of the incident at Arlington National Cemetery has blown up pretty dramatically, he says. In case you haven't heard about it yet or you aren't up to date on the details, let me try to explain what we know. Three days ago, the Trump campaign held a campaign event at Arlington National Cemetery. The idea was to lay a wreath honoring the 13 members of the US military who were killed during the evacuation of Kabul in 2021 and film a political ad. They would distribute the video and attack Vice President Harris and President Biden for not, quote, unquote, showing up for their campaign event, which they sought to portray was an established memorial. As soon as the video circulated, military police experts I know said right off the bat they were shocked that the campaign had been allowed to hold a campaign event on the grounds of the cemetery and circulated a video of isn't just unseemly, it's against the law. And how are they allowed to do that? That turned out to be a good and prescient question. The first hint that anything else had happened on the visit came in a brief NPR article published a day later, which reported that cemetery staff had sought to prevent the campaign from violating the law by holding a political event on the cemetery grounds. The details were limited, but it seemed a verbal altercation became violent and two Trump campaign staffers physically assaulted a cemetery employee. The impression I got from the article was was that they likely shoved the woman to the ground, but the details were cryptic. What wasn't cryptic was the Trump campaign's wildly over the top response. Campaign spokesman Stephen Chung denied a physical altercation had taken place and claimed the campaign was prepared to prove its claim with the release of a videotape. Quote, we are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made, unquote. He then proceeded to make a series of bizarre claims suggesting the attacked employee was actually some random person undergoing some sort of psychotic break. Quote, the fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason, an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of President Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony. Later, the campaign's hyper aggressive co chair, Chris Lacivita, gave an even wilder comment to the Times, calling the assaulted cemetery employee, a despicable individual and a disgrace who, quote, does not deserve to represent the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. And he misspelled hallowed. At a speech Wednesday, vice presidential candidate JD Vance doubled down on the campaign's defense, seeming to imply that campaign staffers were right to assault the cemetery employee. He said VP Harris could, quote, go to hell because of the backlash that Trump is facing. While not immediately tied to the assault or the violation of federal law, this story has also yielded those grotesque images of Trump standing at the graves of soldiers who lost their lives with a big grin and his trademark thumbs up sign. What's so perverse about this is that it isn't one of Trump's predatory moments. There's just something broken about the man since it doesn't occur to him that a grinning thumbs up isn't appropriate at the grave of a fallen soldier. By Wednesday night, a host of other details emerged. The cemetery employee, a woman, filed a report about the incident, but she later declined to press charges, fearing, according to military officials who spoke to the New York Times, that Trump supporters would try to retaliate against her. So the woman was assaulted for trying to enforce federal law. She filed an official report about the incident, but later declined to press charges because she feared reprisals from violent Trump supporters. Late this evening, the Daily Caller reported that Speaker Mike Johnson actually got involved to force cemetery officials to allow Trump to hold his campaign event on the grounds. And since then, by the way, that's been confirmed by cnn. The caller unsurprisingly portrays this as the Gold Star families requesting help from Congress after Arlington officials tried to prevent Trump from accompanying them to the cemetery. Spin aside, what I take as a relevant point is that Arlington Cemetery officials could see this was a train wreck in the making from the start, and the speaker of the House was brought in to overrule cemetery officials simply trying to enforce the prohibition against holding partisan political events on cemetery grounds, especially in the area of recent burials. This whole thing went on involving an assault on a cemetery employee, and it was all under the media radar until this NPR report. That report filed by the Arlington employee is a public record. It can be FOIAed. The Trump campaign at least claims to have video of the incident. If they don't or refuse to release it, it seems at least possible that there's video from surveillance cameras at Arlington. The Pentagon clearly wants to de escalate this story. They don't want to get pulled into the presidential campaign. But I doubt we've heard the last of this now after that, or maybe around that same time, the army did release a statement. And the army never releases a statement. So this was pretty, I don't know, unprecedented, to use a word we must have said a million times in the last eight or nine years. And they said. Arlington National Cemetery routinely hosts public wreath laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for individuals and groups who submit requests in advance. ANC, that's the cemetery conducts nearly 3,000 such public ceremonies a year without incident. Participants in the August 26 ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, army regulations and DoD policies which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside, consistent with the decorum expected at anc. His employee acted with professionalism and avoided further disruption. The incident was reported to the JBMHH Police Department, but the employee subsequently declined to press charges. Therefore, the army considers this matter closed. The incident was unfortunate and it is also unfortunate that the ANC employee and her professionalism has been unfairly attacked. ANC is a national shrine to the honored dead of the armed forces. And its dedicated staff will continue to ensure public ceremonies are conducted with dignity and respect that the nation's fallen deserve. And that's the statement from the army. And they say they reported that to jbm HH Police Department. So I'm going to write that down because I'm going to research that in real time who would be in charge of bringing charges because there's a lot of questions about whether they can without the victim's permission and or cooperation and or testimony in a trial that might take place for the assault. So I'm going to look that up here. So we're going over here, jbmhh, jbm HH Police Department. And what it says is that this is the Director of Emergency Services, Army Garrisons. So it would be the Army JBMHH Emergency Services Division is committed to providing the level of broad based fire, rescue and emergency medical services to our care. We it's the Army. This is the US Army's website. So it would be the army that would bring charges. Now others have tweeted that the U.S. attorney's office could bring charges. But again, I have the same questions about whether or not a U.S. attorney, the feds, the DOJ could bring a charge for assault without the cooperation of the victim. Now I know I've seen plenty of states bring charges for like let's say DV survivors and, and the like who remain anonymous. Right. Jane Does. And they don't testify, but sometimes they don't bring the cases if there's not going to be testimony. And so I'm wondering how the feds work in this manner or if this could be done by the state of Virginia, where Arlington is, or da Again, I don't. I'm not familiar with the rules there. So I don't know who's responsible for bringing charges, if they can bring them unilaterally. But it seems like the army would be responsible here, or at least to conduct an investigation and refer it to a U.S. attorney's office for further investigation. I know Tim Kaine in Congress is demanding, as part of the Armed Services Committee, a copy of this incident report filed by the employee that was assaulted. I'm not sure that the Senate could or would make a criminal referral to a U.S. attorney's office at that point, or if the state takes it over. There's just a lot of unanswered questions about whether or not charges can be filed or would be filed, especially, again, if the victim of this crime won't cooperate with the investigation because they fear retaliation from these stochastic terrorists. So I'm just not sure. I'm looking into it. I'm trying to get all those questions answered because there are a lot of questions. But here we have the Trump campaign plotting a fake memorial ceremony for our fallen soldiers so that they could publicly accuse Harris and Biden of not showing up to an event that they didn't even know about. He was told no because making campaign ads at Arlington using your own private photographers is against the law. So he called his lapdog Mike Johnson to step in. And once inside, a cemetery official tried to stop the violation of the hallowed ground and was physically pushed by as yet unnamed members of Trump's team, probably La Civita and Corey Lewandowski. But we don't. We haven't confirmed that. And I'm just going to go ahead and assume it was at least Corey Lewandowski until. Until the Trump team releases their video proving me wrong. But then they denied the altercation ever happened until JD Vance admitted it happened at his rally. And then they decided to label the cemetery employee mentally ill. It's disgusting. I. And I also want to talk a little bit about the fact that they violated the law simply by releasing a campaign ad. I just want to be clear. That's not a chargeable crime. That's a violation of federal regulation. That would be civil in nature. So I don't know if people could bring lawsuits. That's something else. I need to look into, but it's not a chargeable crime. A lot of people have asked if this will get Trump's bail revoked. No, no, because he's not the person who assaulted the employee. And assault is a crime, a federal crime, and it's a statute you can violate criminally. But the act of recording a campaign ad or participating in campaign activities on cemetery grounds is not a chargeable offense, and so it doesn't violate bail conditions. But it's no wonder that Trump has to resort to these deceitful tactics that desecrate our fallen heroes, by the way, because he has no idea how to run against Kamala Harris. He's got the right wing reporters writing stories about how she failed to put McDonald's on her resume to work in a prosecutor's office. So she can't be trusted, which I don't understand at all. First, I don't think the work at McDonald's is relevant to being a prosecutor or working as a lawyer. So why would you need to include it? And how many of us continue to include our high school and college jobs in our cvs? And let's say, for argument's sake, that she was lying about working at McDonald's and made it all up just to put one over on us. How does that serve her? How does having worked at McDonald's make her more qualified to be president? I mean, I think that anybody who's been a service worker is probably, you know, I would love it if, if all of our politicians has, have, have done a, a stint as a service worker. But if you're going to lie on your resume to be president, you don't use McDonald's, is. That's all I'm saying. You lie like George Santos did and like Andy Ogles did. It's just the dumbest fucking thing. But that's not all. Hugo Lowell has written a piece for the Guardian. Donald Trump's campaign insists that they're pushing multiple strategies against Kamala Harris. But the true picture that's emerging is that the Trump senior adviser's grand plan for now is to pray that former US President Trump has a good night at the presidential debate next month. That's it. The game plan, in other words, has become one of hoping that Trump wins the debate so they can regain momentum. A stunning approach, Hugo says, that shows the serious predicament for Trump and his campaign as he struggles to find ways to land effective attacks against the vice president just months before the election. What has happened internally in the Trump campaign in recent weeks, he says is the realization that nothing they do in the period up to the debate is likely to cut through in a significant way that blunts Harris's gains that have her level in key swing state polls, according to people close to the matter. And because they don't think the messaging will cut through, senior advisors are left hopeful, hoping, praying thoughts and prayers that Trump can energize voters with his performance on stage at the debate. Trump is certain to continue his day to day campaign work until the debate September 10th. He has a very busy travel schedule that will see him do a town hall event in Wisconsin and a rally in Pennsylvania this week after his visit to the Arlington National Cemetery became mired in controversy. He has also had some success in cutting through the news cycle in recent days, including when he took over headlines at the end of last week when RFK Jr. Gave his endorsement. But reality is that good news has been in short supply since President Joe Biden exited the race in July and Harris rapidly replaced him. Her campaign has flipped the narrative, turning a consistent Biden loss in the polls into a narrow but solid Harris lead. With Trump struggling to frame the narrative against Harris, the general posture inside the campaign leadership is to write off the regular programming that won't change the race and look to debate now. The pivot to praying Trump does well at the debate is practical. Even if writing off two weeks is unusual. Trump can perform on stage. He's knocked opponents back in 2016 and 2020 and against Biden obviously in 2024 with sarcastic quips and an avalanche of disorienting false claims that Gish gallop we talk about. The campaign also feels Trump can use the debate as an opportunity to get across to a national primetime audience his messaging points criticizing Harris on policy, accusing Harris of allowing wa illegal immigrants, not cracking down on crime that have so far not broken through, probably because they're not true. As the reasoning goes, even if the television networks decline to air Trump's rallies or remarks criticizing Harris day to day, they will be forced to air Trump and his attack lines when he has the floor. Trump's advisors have also been buoyed by the likelihood that the microphones will be muted when it is not the candidate's turn to speak, believing it defangs Harris in being able to fact check him in real time and her ability to make quips of her own. That's the that's the plot for why they want them muted. The muted microphones have been a particularly big deal for Trump's. Trump's advisors, who internally have been repeatedly pushing for the CNN rules in a reference to the disastrous CNN debate last month when microphones were muted. Here comes of Several Trump advisers have warned about Harris's jabs in debates in 2020, telling Mike Pence, Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking and responding to former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, now involved in Trump's debate prep in the Democratic primary debate with Scheiden. Comments follow Hugo Lowell he always has great insider scoops on what's going on inside the campaign. But add to that Trump's advisors are now telling ABC to ignore Trump on the microphone issue and please, please, please mute them. And that's after Trump publicly stated he'd be fine with unmuted mics. His advisors know that it would be disastrous for him, so they are going behind his back to defy him. We'll see how that turns out. But wait, y', all, there's more to the Trump has no idea how to run against Harris story. He's back to courting fringe QAnon idiots this is from the Associated Press. Donald Trump shared more than a dozen posts on social media that's Truth Social Wednesday that call for the trial or jailing of House lawmakers who investigated the attacks on the Capitol special counsel Jack Smith and others, along with images that reference the QAnon conspiracy theories. The former president began posting a string of messages Tuesday evening after Smith filed his new superseding indictment against him over his efforts to undo his loss his coup in 2020. The new indictment keeps the same criminal charges but narrows the allegations against Trump following the Supreme Court opinion last month that extended broad immunity to presidents. And I'll add here also the Fisher ruling in the Supreme Court. There was a lot of adjusting based on that. In this superseding indictment that the Associated Press didn't put in here, Trump reposted a doctored image that was made to look like President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton all in orange jumpsuits among other political figures, and a lewd post about Harris and Clinton that referred to a sex act. One post seemed to suggest former President Barack Obama should be tried in a military court. Trump has long talked about seeking retribution against perceived enemies if he wins a second term. He has publicly bristled in recent weeks at the advice of his campaign advisors to focus his message on policy around the economy and the border, rather than indulge in personal attacks that were seen as distracting from the case he's trying to make to the voters. He won't listen to them. Trump began sharing more than a dozen posts from other users on the network that included calls for Smith to be prosecuted, the lawmakers of the house committee investigating Jan. 6 to be jailed, and more. One image showed Jack Smith with devil horns and red eyes, which I frankly think is badass. A spokesman for Smith declined to comment Wednesday. There is no gag order preventing Donald Trump from going after Jack Smith. James Singer, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, said the posts show what Trump is offering the country, quote, prosecuting political opponents, using dangerous conspiracy theories to justify harmful policies and dividing Americans against each other. One post featured an image of Trump and former President Barack Obama with the words all roads lead to Obama re truth if you want a public military tribunal. Some of the other posts Trump shared include phrases circulating among followers of QAnon. That's the pro Trump conspiracy theory, including, quote, nothing can stop what is coming. Hold the line. WWG1 WGA, which is where we go one, we go all. That's all he's got, y' all his flailing. It's pathetic and I can't wait to see the debate and in another blow to the decimated Trump campaign from WBTV3, former independent presidential candidate RFK Jr. Will remain on the ballot for North Carolina's general election. That's what the state decided Thursday. The North Carolina State Board of elections on August 29 voted in favor of keeping Kennedy on the ballot despite his withdrawal from the race. Third party candidate Kennedy suspended his campaign on Friday, August 23rd. Kennedy's name will appear on the ballot in November for North Carolina voters who can technically still vote for him. Those votes won't count, however, since Kennedy has withdrawn from the race now. Typically, if a candidate drops out of a race with enough time before an election, their name won't get included on the ballot, and Kennedy, however, suspended his campaign just before voting begins in North Carolina, creating a too tight deadline for county boards of elections, of which many had already begun printing ballots for the election. According to Karen Brinson, executive director of the state's elections board, North Carolina has already printed about 1.73 million ballots as of Thursday in more than 60 counties. Special ballots, for example, such as those for overseas in the military or those with vision problems, were already being prepared to reprint and redistribute ballots without Kennedy's name would take at least 13 days. The process would reportedly require reproofing the entire ballot, which involves the state and county boards. Reprinting would also cost more money, the board said. County boards were expected to begin mailing absentee ballots on Friday, September 6th to voters who requested to vote by mail. And I was about to say I'm not prone to hyperbole, but I admit that I am sometimes. But I think this one thing Kennedy on the ballot in North Carolina could decide the election. Flipping North Carolina would get 16 electoral votes, and the handful of votes siphoned from Trump to RFK Jr. In this state could make all the difference when RFK Jr. Is on the ballot. It's bad for Trump. So gosh, who could have seen this coming a mile away now? This is from Rob Weil at NBC. The US Economy grew faster in the second quarter than first reported, suggesting there was a little sign of a slowdown through the first six months of the year. The latest reading of the GDP published by the Commerce department came in at 3%, up from the initial estimate of 2.8%. The change was driven by personal spending, which advanced 2.9% compared with the prior estimate of 2.3. GDP is the largest single measure of economic activity, capturing consumption, investment, government spending and trade. The US Economy continues to demonstrate resiliency despite various headwinds. Inflation remains higher than the Federal Reserve 2% target, but is well below its pandemic era peak of more than 9%, and earnings for the typical worker have been keeping pace, outpacing inflation. Meanwhile, layoffs remain subdued even as unemployment is ticking up from historic lows. As the GDP was being released Thursday, the Department of labor published initial unemployment claims data showing a stable rate of filings for jobless benefits. Quote Another blow to the doom and gloom crew while the current economic expansion keeps keeping on. That's Joe Bruceuelas, principal and chief economist at RSM US LLP Financial Group. Quote this economy is neither in a recession nor is it at risk of imminent end to the current business cycle. To be sure, not all Americans are staying afloat, let alone thriving. About an equal share of respondents to the Conference Board's monthly consumer confidence survey rate their family's current financial situation is good, as many say that's good as as who say it's bad, and the overall confidence level remains below pre pandemic levels. The mixed picture was further illustrated in earnings reports released Thursday. While Dollar General flagged financially constrained consumers as partly to blame for a disappointing report that sent its stock plummeting, Best Buy raised its fiscal year guidance. We see a consumer who's seeking value in sales and events, and one who's also willing to spend on high price point products when they need to or when there is new, compelling technology that's Best Buy CEO Stock market indexes I say indices responded positively to the latest data opening higher. Meanwhile, the odds of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 50 basis points next month fell, signaling a growing expectation by the market that the Fed will cut rates, but not drastically. I've been saying they're going to cut it by a quarter overall quote the GDP release looks very strong and looks like a very strong real economy with especially strong household sector but also forward looking businesses appearing very optimist optimistic. That's Harvard economist and former Obama economic adviser Jason Furman. He also added that additional data showed inflation decelerating, which is great. Q3 GDP estimates are currently around 2%, he said, and the Fed is still likely to cut interest rates given rising unemployment. But in general, he said the economy is looking in fine shape overall and the Dow closed today at a new record high. Though I'll say the stock market is not the economy, but it hit a record high and this is from Ryan Reilly at NBC and Content Warning for child sexual abuse three years after the DOJ's internal watchdog slammed the FBI for its failures in the case of convicted sexual abuser and former U.S. gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, an audit released Thursday finds the bureau is still failing to protect children who have been sexually abused. A new report by the Justice Department Inspector General Mike Horowitz reviewed a sample of 327 cases and found 42 that were so deficient that auditors felt compelled to contact the FBI and urge immediate attention. In one case, the audit found that a child continued to be sexually abused for 15 months and another child victim was abused by the same person. While the FBI failed to investigate the case, the inspector general reported on a separate FBI review that found another such example in which a two year old was being abused for 21 months while the FBI sat on the case and failed to take investigative steps. These cases mirror what happened in the Nassar case, even though FBI Director Chris Wray assured Congress and the public it would never happen again. In 47% of the cases examined, DOJ Watchdog found no evidence that the FBI complied with the mandatory reporting requirements to alert state or local authorities about an allegation of child sexual abuse in 43% of the cases, the audit found it wasn't just a lack of documentation in the file. The FBI needed to take additional investigative steps that should have initially taken place in the Nassar case. The report found that an additional 70 gymnasts said they were abused by him during a year of inaction, while the FBI failed to investigate allegations brought to agents. In response, the FBI suggested this was mainly a case of failing to properly document files, something that the report rebuts by saying 43% of the problem cases required more FBI action, not just paperwork. A senior FBI official mentioned budget cuts as one of the reasons the mission is particularly difficult and said they take any compliance issues very seriously. The office said there are a small minority of cases in which a lack of action from the FBI resulted in harm to children. In no case was that acceptable to the FBI. The Republicans want to defund this work. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin blasted the FBI in a statement, saying their failures enabling Larry Nassar's abuse of young victims continue to remain a stain on the bureau. Quote, today's reports show new policies implemented by the FBI to address these egregious failures are effectively being ignored, leading to similar abuses as seen in the Nassar investigation. It's shameful that the FBI is continuing to fail victims. That's Durbin. In a statement, the bureau said that ensuring the safety and security of children is not just a priority for the FBI. It's a solemn duty that we're committed to fulfilling with the highest standards. The bureau's statement said the FBI is committed to maintaining the public's trust by implementing the necessary improvements to ensure the important change. Changes we made to our Violent Crimes Against Children program in 2018 and 2019 have the intended effect of promoting the highest level of compliance and effectiveness. I think probably the way to maintain or at least get back some of the public trust is to replace Chris Ray. John Manley, an attorney who represented hundreds of Nassar accusers, including Simone Biles, said the new report shows that Congress needs to take action to make changes within the FBI. This report makes clear the FBI is simply not doing its job when it comes to protecting our children from the monsters among us who stalk them. Despite years of promises and numerous congressional hearings, it's now clear that Larry Nassar could happen again today. It's time for Congress to take action to reform the FBI. Our children deserve nothing less, I'm telling you. Replace Chris Ray. Tired of that guy. And our last story from Marcia Dunn at The Associated Press. SpaceX launches are on hold After a booster rocket toppled over in flames while landing Wednesday, the FAA Federal Aviation Administration grounded the company's Falcon 9 rockets plural and ordered an investigation following the pre dawn accident off the Florida coast. No injuries or public damage were reported. Just so you know, it's too early to know how much impact this will have on SpaceX's. Upcoming crew flights, one private and another for NASA. A billionaire's chartered flight was delayed just a few hours earlier because of a poor weather forecast. A billionaire. The rocket blasted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and got all 21 Starlink Internet satellites to orbit. But the first stage booster fell over in a fireball moments after landing on an ocean platform, the first such accident in years. It was the 23rd time this particular booster had launched a recycling record for SpaceX. The FAA said it must approve SpaceX's accident findings and correct the company can resume Falcon 9 launches. A launch from California with more starlinks was immediately called off following the accident. SpaceX's John Edwards, a vice president, said the company's working ASAP to understand what went wrong. Losing a booster is always sad. Each one of them has a huge unique history and character. Thankfully, this doesn't happen often, edwards posted on Twitter. Besides the private space flight awaiting liftoff from Florida's Kennedy Space Center, SpaceX is due to launch a pair of astronauts for NASA late next month. Two seats will be set aside for the two astronauts who launched in June aboard Boeing's new Starliner capsule deemed unsafe by NASA for their return. Y', all, we need to stop all government contracts with this man immediately, if we aren't working on that already. Anyhow, I need some good news. I need to, I need, I need some fugal sang Friday. How about y'?
B
All?
A
We're going to do that right after the break, then we'll come back with the good news. Stick around and we'll be right back after these messages.
B
We'll be right back.
A
Hey everybody, welcome back. It's Friday, which means it's fugal saying Friday. So joining me right now is the host of Tell Me everything on Sirius XM progress channel 127 weeknights at 9pm Eastern, 6 Pacific. He works more than anybody I know, 18 hours a day at the DNC. Wherever you get your podcasts, that's free for you. Please welcome John Fugelsang. Hi my friend.
B
Wow me, I'm the hardest working man in show business. Next to Trump's parole agent, I guess. Or who knows? But I'm pretty busy. It's great to see you.
A
It's good to see you too. Yeah, the Buell Theater Employees could be pretty hard working as well, you know.
B
Yeah, exactly right. They listen. I she listened to. And no one else is as willing to reach out across the aisle and give out jobs as Lauren Boebert. And that joke is still funny. I don't care. I'll be telling you when I'm old.
A
It's still.
B
I got to see you in person last week at the dnc, which was amazing.
A
We had never met in person, and we got to sit down, have an interview, and then we were able to play that interview for our folks on the last fugal saying Friday. So thank you for that. That was incredible.
B
It's so nice, people when you meet someone you admire and love and they're prettier in real life than all their professional photos. So you're listening to the right podcast, fans of oral beauty. But no. And then I heard a rumor that you're going to be in the same zip code as me for a second time this year.
A
Yeah, and I'm not just going to be in the same zip code. I'm going to be in the same theater, on the same stage with the Sexy Liberal Tour for their Phoenix show on September 28th. Is that right?
B
That's right. I can't believe we finally roped you into one of these things.
A
You got. I got. You know, the fact that I got to see your hair in person is probably outweighs all of that, but there are coming.
B
Yes. My Covid. My Covid hair is still lingering and I look like Beethoven and Loki had a child. That never should have happened. I know.
A
Stop. I know you keep punching down at yourself, but come on. Look, I think tickets are still available, right? For September 2020.
B
Yeah. We've been doing this tour for years. We've had everybody from, you know, Nancy Pelosi to Lily Tomlin to Rob Reiner who joined it. Adam Schiff looks.
A
Luke Skywalker.
B
Luke Skywalker has joined us on stage just last week with Governor J.B. pritzker and Chair Jamie Harrison and Congresswoman Schakowski and Jill Winebanks. That was a hell of a panel we had. That was a great show in Chicago. To kick off the convention, Hamill is going to do our election Eve show in LA as well. But honestly, all of these dignitaries and luminaries were mere appetizers, setting us up for the power of Alison Gill. Finally joining the Stephanie Miller Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour in the beautiful town of Phoenix. I'm so excited. In just under a month, a month from yesterday will be a month from this week. We'll be there.
A
Yeah, it's going to be really great. And I get to say hi to my mom.
B
Right on. Great.
A
That'll be wonderful as well. So let's chat a little bit about what's been going on since the dnc. I know we talked a lot about the DNC the last time we spoke and everybody's heard that.
B
Well, last time we were talking during the DNC, it was just like behind the scenes of the SiriusXM fort in the media row and it was crazy. Did you, you. I'm glad you got out of town okay. It was a mess.
A
I did. I was able to get out of town okay. I went to San Francisco, had our live show with Olivia Troy who spoke at the DNC and Pete Strzok was there. It was fantastic. So thanks to Swedish American hall. Out, out in, out in San Francisco. So we had a big party there. But I wanted to talk a little bit about Trump's flailing campaign. It's, it's sad. He's, he's on stage right now. I think doubling down on his Congressional Medal of Honor is not as cool as the Presidential Medal.
B
Oh, that's freedom. That's great. I'm so sorry to be missing that on my vacation. Wow. I need to spend more time by cable news watching Trump speeches. I feel so bad to be missing this one cuz I know there's so much content in there only to study later.
A
I think they're all showing Kamala's speech right now in Savannah, Georgia, which is actually really, really good. She's pivoted a little bit with her normal opening lines about how she was before senator. She was a attorney general before she was vice president. She was senator, then Attorney general, then elected DA and then she was a prosecutor. Raised my hand combo for the people. But instead of going into the. So I know Trump and I know how to handle sexual predators and people who are frauds and all this other stuff. She kind of left all that out and just talked about how it was hard work. What she did when she went after these predators and fraudsters and big banks and she brought up veterans and students who were scammed by for profit universities and how it was very, very hard work. And this election's gonna be hard work. But, but we aren't afraid of hard work and it's always good work when you're working toward a better future. And she started talking about the future future with free health care. We're going to get Medicaid for all here in, in Georgia.
B
She said it she said it. Medicare for all.
A
Medicaid.
B
Medicaid, yeah.
A
You know how to. Georgia? Yeah. To get the Medicaid thing.
B
Yeah, Gotcha.
A
Expansion. But yeah, I, I was, I was taken aback a second. Did she just say Medicaid? No, she said Medicaid expansion in Georgia. That's, you know, what I had seen. I thought that that was a great pivot because, you know, everybody was giving her shit for. Oh, she's repeating the same lines even though battery Shark boy keeps saying the same windmill shit every time and the same Congressional Medal of Honor and Medal of Freedom.
B
He has this such a funny Hannibal Lecter line, though. It's so funny. He makes up himself. You gotta hear it. Maybe he'll do it at tonight's speech. Maybe literally.
A
It's just brand new. It's so fresh.
B
He quotes the last line of the damn movie and tries to pass it off as a punchline. Oh, gr. Put it back in your pants. We're at the bus stop. Please. You know, we said this from the beginning. He wasn't going to understand how to go after her without stepping in a yard full of rakes. He wasn't going to be able to go after her without going after her gender or her race. And he still can't do it.
A
No. And he's reposting, according to QAnon folks, but also reposting memes about Kamala Harris and comparison to Monica Lewinsky and insinuating that they have slept their way to the top, incapable of not making those accusations, which are. I'm sure that's going to rope in all kinds of women to vote for him. It's going to get him a huge vote from women.
B
Well, I mean, what's amazing at this point is, Alison, normally at this point in every election, we're all grumbling about how these two parties are spending billions of dollars to get 17 undecided people, 17 undecided white people in seven swing states to finally make up their mind. And this election, for the first time, I don't think that's what the Democrats are going for. They are not trying to get undecided voters. They're not trying to get people off the fence. They're trying to get them off the couch. And this is all about enthusiasm and getting people who are already registered and inclined to vote this way to actually take the day and do it or make sure you have your ballot mailed. Do it. And it's actually just great when you think about all the young people who turned 18 since 20, 20 or 2016. When you think about all the folks who have become citizens and are now eligible to vote since 2020 or 2016, they're going for the Stacey Abrams model of not trying to convince the Trumpers, but trying to get everybody else, that is the majority, which does oppose Trump, to get in the game. And I think we might finally see it. Donald Trump might be the only man alive who could lose the popular vote three times. It's been over 100 years since it's been done, Alison. Only one man could achieve it. I think we might be on the verge, but it's a remarkable campaign. And I kind of feel like Kamala Harris is doing the smart thing, making the media focus on why won't she give us more interviews. So then by the time that they have the first debate, she'll have lowered expectations so much. I'm already a bit excited for it.
A
No, me too. And as much as Trump is accusing Kamala Harris and Tim Walls of stealing his get out the vote ideas, the right wing is now literally stealing her get off the couch idea. I think Charlie Kirk and the rest of the right wing pundits today are putting out the, their, their daily messaging that they've received from the Trump campaign saying, hey, basically, you know, gamers and guys in your basement on your computer and, hey, fellas, if you don't want a woman to be president, and I'm paraphrasing here, you know, get off, get off your cap, put down your, your controller, your game controller, put down the code red and the Cheetos get out there and vote like they're trying to do what she's been so successful at campaigning on for the last couple of months. And they're just flailing. They have no answer to any of her campaign tactics. And so now he's just retweeting QAnon shit and double doubling down on his misogyny and racism.
B
And again, all they can do is try and attack her as unqualified. Like, there's the sexism and the racism all at once. They're all going to keep on saying, oh, you slept with your boss to bypass women who are more qualified than you. Well, that's a lie. These are people who don't really get to point fingers of shame at other people for sexual practices and personal relationships. These are people who support a rapist, a rapist who calls women pieces of ass and whose campaign was launched with a racist smear campaign and peaked with a taped confession of sexual assault in 2016. This woman graduated Howard University, finished law School, became a district attorney Attorney General of the state of California, U.S. senator, U.S. vice President, and presidential nominee. I have it on good authority she did not sleep her way to any of those elected positions. Can you imagine the amount of physical exhaustion to sleep with that many voters to keep getting elected? Time and time again, these people traded their morality and their manhood for a millionaire at birth, reality TV con man, thief, and rapist. And again, this is very important. After Donald Trump was sworn in as president, he still could not correctly name the three branches of government. These misogynists don't have any business talking about qualified. And I really hope qualified remains a theme throughout this campaign.
A
Yeah, it reminds me of that Erin Brockovich moment where she gets all 634 arbitration things signed. And. And it was like, how did you get that done? How'd you do that? She's like, well, since I have no expertise or ability of my own, I just went out and performed 634 sexual favors.
B
Right, Exactly.
A
I'm really. I'm really quite exhausted. And. And so that, like, kind of embodies that sort of sexist misogynist that we see. And it's all they got from this campaign.
B
If they had policies that help non millionaires, they'd never shut up about it. They finally discovered, oh, let's, let's not tax tips. But they don't want to do anything to pay for the 150 billion that would leave out, like, they don't want to pay for any of these tax cuts. Kamala Harris is actually looking to do that. And Kamala Harris is actually a wealthy person fighting to raise her own taxes. So, I mean, let them go for it all they want. It's a millionaire at birth aristocrat ticket that's going after Harris Walls.
A
That and Ted Cruz, who's. Who's writing up this no tax on tips plan is including corporate bonuses. So as tips, of course.
B
There we go.
A
Yeah. And Kamala Harris is not doing that.
B
So, I mean, we have to keep calling them aristocrats all the time, just like the aristocrats on the Supreme Court. They live in an America where you never have to know how much a gallon of milk milk costs. Okay? That's the America these guys live in. They're not like us. They're not like us. They're not like us. And every Republican running should be asked how much a gallon of gas is in their hometown and how much a gallon of milk is right now. We have to show, I mean, RFK Jr. I mean, it's like they're just all millionaires at birth. And I have nothing against rich people. You know who I'm prejudiced against? Rich people with no appreciation of their own privilege. Like the last several republic. I think the last Republican presidential nominee who wasn't born rich was Bob Dole. And that was only 26 years ago, folks. It's a party of aristocrats and this is what they do. The plantation owners will always find a way to get the poor hard working white confederates to fight their battles for them because they'll tell them those Yankees are coming, whatever existential threat, the illegals, trans kids who want to play sports, they'll tell them who the existential threat is. And these low wattage white people will fight for men who live in mansions. There is no easier demographic to manipulate than the patriotic white American male.
A
Yeah, the disenfranchised millionaire. And I think that Michelle Obama in her speech at the DNC really drove that home when she, when she called it the affirmative action of generational wealth. That line blew me away. Absolutely blew me away.
B
Yep.
A
One quick comment from you on the Arlington situation because I went off earlier in the episode about this. I'm so pissed. You know, not only is he doesn't have any way to campaign, so he's retweeting QAnon doubling down on his sexist attacks, but now he has. He went out of his way to create a fake memorial ceremony for fallen war dead in order to film it and put it out so that he could accuse Kamala Harris.
B
It wasn't a ceremony for war dead. It was a campaign event for Trump. Go ahead.
A
But, but, yeah, but, I mean, he, he, he wanted to create a fake one that nobody knew about so he could come out and say, look, Kamala Harris didn't show up. She doesn't care about veterans. And then there's, I mean, a million other things. Somebody from the staff shoved a woman who worked.
B
And Trump supporters will never know about this. They'll never know that the US army angrily called out Donald Trump's campaign today for shoving a military member on premises amidst the bodies of our honored war dead. They won't care. Your racist uncle and your aunt dead inside are never going to know. Donald Trump broke the rules, broke the law. They're never going to know any of this because Fox News and Newsmax and OAN are never going to report it. So it's not going to hurt Trump at all with his base that he desecrated the remains of our servicemen. It's not going to bother anyone, but.
A
It'Ll bother the rest of the folks who just need to get up off the couch.
B
Well, it'll bother the families, but I mean, look, there's, there's an ancient Arabic word for exploiting those killed in war that you don't care about for crass personal gain. Do you know the word? It's Benghazi. Benghazi means to exploit people murdered in conflict that you don't give a damn about for crass personal gain. And they tried to blame Benghazi on Susan Rice, and then they tried to blame Benghazi on Barack Obama, and then they tried to blame Benghazi on Hillary Clinton for a solid year four years later. And then Donald Trump was sworn in on January 20, 2017, and no Republican ever said the word Benghazi again because they didn't need to ride the corpses of those four Americans. And ask your right wing relative sometime the name the four men killed in Benghazi. They don't know their names. They never knew their names. They don't care about those dead men. They care about Americans exploiting tragedy for selfish gain. That's all this was. It was disgusting. And every Republican your listeners know should have to explain why this is acceptable. Why was it acceptable for Donald Trump to lie? Why was it acceptable for his campaign to abuse military members on hollowed ground? And why was it acceptable for Donald Trump to use the tombstones of our fallen war dead just to advance his crappy campaign? Why is he allowed to break the law? Why is he allowed to exploit the sacrifice of men and women better than him? And ask your Republican co worker and make them give you an answer. Do it nicely.
A
Do it nicely. Well, thank you so much, my friend. I appreciate talking to you. It was wonderful to run into you. I can't wait to see you. And on September 28th in Phoenix, for the sexy liberal show that you're doing there, I think it's at the Arizona Financial Arena.
B
It is. And by the way, if people want to see the big one we just did to kick off the DNC with Mark Hamill and Governor Pritzker, just go to Sexy Liberal.com and you can get it for $20.24, I believe. So that's still up for a pay per view for a while. And it was really a great, great funny show. Not as great as the one Alison Gill is going to be at. So get your carcass to Arizona for the 28th, please. We'll see you in Phoenix.
A
I look forward to seeing you. And I look forward to seeing everybody. And again, you can catch John Fugelsang on Tell Me Everything weeknights at 9pm Eastern, 6 Pacific on SiriusXM channel progress 127. Right, you're good. And then of course, the John Fugal Saying podcast, wherever you get your pods. So thank you so much, my friend. We'll see you next time.
B
You're the best.
A
Everybody. Stick around. We'll be right back with the good news after these messages.
B
We'll be right back.
A
Foreign welcome back. It's time for the good news.
B
Good news, everyone. Then good news, everyone.
A
Good news. And boy, do we need it today. If you have any good news confessions corrections, especially pronunciation corrections. You want to play what the is in your ark? This is the game where you send us a photo of an animal. Usually we start, you know, it's your pod, it's your pet, it's your pod pet tax, right? You just send in a photo of your pet. But that expanded to all kinds of animals and guessing games, including opine on the bovine. What the heck Wine? What the hell's in that shell? What's the model of your axolotl? Cat me if you can. What the heck. We have all kind any just any animal photos. Just send them in, especially baby animals, but also senior babies. I love animal photos. And if you don't have pod pet tax to pay, you can always send an adoptable pet in your area if you'd like. And we can try to help them find a forever home. But you know the tax isn't required. You can still send in your regular good news like shout outs. For example, if you have a shout out for a loved one or some community organizers doing some incredible work in your in your community. Or if you have a shout out to a loved one, a spouse, kid, parent, a self shout out, a shout out to a woobi or a blankie or a stuffed animal that you've had in your family forever, that you've been carrying or around forever. Those are always fun. And then of course shout outs to government programs that have helped you or a loved one or someone you know, whether it's Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care act, snap, WIC Pack Act, VA Healthcare, and of course student debt forgiveness. Send in your student debt forgiveness stories if you haven't already. I send those to the White House and they read them and they love them. You can send it all to us@dailybeanpod.com and click on Contact. First submission from Tim Pronouns he and him. You know much that is Hidden. No, Tim, quick pronunciation correction. Chinook Salmon is pronounced Chinook. Oh, okay, looky there. Chinook. I'm doing this mostly as an excuse to send pics of my two pups. Tim, you never need an excuse to send animal photos. This is Sid and Ellie. Sid we picked up along with his litter mate brother Kia from a relative as puppies Ellie I took in two years ago from an acquaintance who could no longer take care of her. I think you'll have no problem guessing Sid's breed, but may have trouble with Ellie. Okay, well, let's see. This is tough. I'm gonna say Sid is a husky something or other. Maybe a Samoyed, maybe a Pyrenees, maybe a German Shepherd. Got a German shepherd face. Looks like a white German shepherd, but it's got husky. I don't know. There's a lot of dog in there and it's beautiful. How about that? The other one looks like a Ridgeback. I don't know what else would be in there. Maybe another maybe German Shepherd. Beautiful dogs though. Oh, there's answers. Sid is a very fluffy 110 pound husky German shepherd mix love sponge. Thank you. Ellie is a 70 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback. A real sweetheart, but a bit of an asshole. I got the Ridgeback right and I think I said Husky and German shepherd, but I think I also might have added a Samoyed and a Pyrenees. So we'll call it. We'll call it. I got an A. How about that? Thank you for sending that in and thank you, Chinook Salmon. Next up from Carl. He and Holly. She we said goodbye to our sweet black kitty Shantoos. Shanty on Tuesday. She was 17 and a good cat. She gave us joy and unconditional love. We look for her curled up in her usual spots and deeply miss our conversations. But she's finally at peace. I know what that's like and it takes a while. Took me a long time before I could be able to think about Booba and Bruce Willis with a smile on my face as opposed to with tears in my eyes. So I know how hard it is. But what a beautiful baby. Thank you Carl and Hollywood. Next up from Larry. Oh, look at these two. Larry. He him. No amazing good news. But my bipolar depression has been under control for a couple of years. That's amazing good news, Larry. I've been noticing a lot of twin black cats, which I have as well. My oldest girl, Tiger is living her best life. She's 18 years old. My 14 year old Chihuahua mix, my 19 month old mutt.
B
Wow.
A
And the Aforementioned twins who are 15 months the babies, they have a funny story. My son has a cat who came with the name Hercules. When I told him I wanted a black cat, he found twins named Hades and Poseidon. Too much coincidence not to take them both. Love what you do. Keep fighting the good fight. And I'm glad they're together because they look like a bonded pair. And look at the old babies. And then look at the Chihuahua and the mutt. 19 months old. Very chill for a 19 month old puppers. But that Chihuahua mix is hilarious and I love them. Thank you so much for sending these in. Next up from Barb. She and her hi beans Queens. I'm involved with our local animal rescue care C A R E. Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza. Okay, Excellent, Excellent acronym bar. It truly does take an army of volunteers to help all the homeless, abandoned and abused animals in our community. We take these animals into our homes, give them a soft place to land and lots of tlc. When they're healthy and have recovered from their trauma, we find a forever home for them. One of our rescues has been with us for a long time and he's desperate for a forever home. His name is Phoenix and he asked me to reach out to you for help finding a kind person or family that might be interested in adopting him. Him. Here is the post that he forwarded to me. Okay. This is from the dog. Where are you, my forever two legged companion? I have been patiently waiting for you. I know when you find me, you will see what a good boy I am. So far my life has not been easy. As you can see from my facial scars. I had a traumatic experience once with a four legged that lived in my home. So I really need to be your one and only Peter. After I recovered from the attack, I was adopted by a wonderful lady who cared for me and loved me. Scars and all. My heart was broken when she passed away. Okay, you're killing me, Barb. And nobody stepped up to take me and love me the way she did. So for all the dog lovers reading this, can you make some room in your heart and consider giving me a forever home? I'm the sweetest boy. I will definitely be a loving, loyal companion if you give me a chance. I guarantee you will love me as much as I will love you. Phoenix, also known as Finney. Located in Shelby, North Carolina, it's Clifford's Army Rescue. C L I F F O R D S Army Rescue. Look at this sweet baby. Yeah, that's a tough life. Oh my goodness. This one got me. What a sweetheart. All right, anybody, anybody near Shelby, North Carolina that wants this beautiful, beautiful baby, let us know. We'll see if we can match you up. Next up from Anonymous Pronoun she and her after nearly a decade out of the workforce, I tried to get back to work as an Engineer. Turns out 40 something stay at home moms aren't at the top of the hiring list. Knowing I needed to do something more for my community, I went in a completely different direction and began all over, majoring in human services. Awesome. After going to school nearly full time with three small kids in tow during COVID I graduated summa cum laude. But that's not the best part. My senior capstone research thesis was a holistic approach to resettlement for survivors of torture. My research was selected for an undergraduate showcase and needless to say, my presentation caused quite a stir in the conservative close to the border institution. I had professors DM me afterwards saying I gave them pause and they're re evaluating their stance on immigration. It only takes one. In addition, I'm applying for law school. My professor said turning 50 is inevitable. I might as well be 50 with a JD. Wish me luck on the LSATs. Good luck Anonymous For Podpet tax I present. Oreo and Dango are guinea pig fur balls with huge personalities and they are adorable. Oh my God their markings are incredible. Congratulations Anonymous. That's such such wonderful news. Next up, still tired but hopeful in Texas she her thanks for all you do in this stressful time. I don't know what I would do without the beans each morning. Ag you asked for otters, so here you go. Several years ago I took a day off work to go on a hike at a local state park. I was a volunteer there at the time and knew the ranger leading the bird hike. I was coming from about an hour away and never went out during the week due to work. But on my way there it started raining so I was so disappointed but I went anyway. The ranger said he didn't cancel the hike because he knew I had taken the day off and was driving a ways to get there despite the rain and a handful of us decided to go ahead with the hike. Awesome. We had the whole place to ourselves and as luck would have it, this otter decided to make an appearance. It was thrilling to see this otter playing and crossing in front of us and then swimming. I had known they lived in the park park, but it was rare for anyone to see them. Mostly you see lots of alligators and a wide variety of birds, but the otter stole the show that day. Thanks for asking for otter pictures as it reminded me of this amazing day at one of my happy places. Also, shout out to the park rangers there. You enrich any visit to a park in ways I never knew I needed. And look at the otter. They're so cute. Love otters with their little hands and they hold. They hug each other when they float. I can't. I can't with otters. Too adorable. All right, next up from Jan H. Pronoun she and her I've been listening to you since the Muller she wrote days. And now I also follow cleanup on aisle 45 and Jack I'm retired California State University administrator living near Asheville, North Carolina. I love Asheville. I'm still active and loving life at 73. Built my own ceramic studio. Yeah, I've been making art from classic to crazy for the last eight years. This year as a volunteer, I coordinated the Come to oh, I'm gonna mispronounce this. Lister Artist Studio Tour. Come to Lister. It's L E I C E S T E R. Come to the Lister Artist studio tour held August 17th and 18th, displaying 35 artists from my area. I used my skills as both a business person and an artist. My main reason for writing is that I adopted a wonderful male pit bull puppy in January, mainly because he was too adorable to leave at the Asheville Humane Society. I hoped he would have a good relationship with my golden doodled Nova. His name is big and at 10 months and 50 pounds, he's already lived up to his name. He's playful, energetic, affectionate and curious, and he's never far away and could be called the Velcro Dog. He's been well cared for medically, materially and above all, loved. The two dogs played hard, and a month ago my older female dog suffered a completely complete tear of her left rear CCL tendon, which required major surgery and now she's rehabilitating and Big can't go outside with her because she'll chase him. Since Big is still a puppy at 10 months, I believe he can form a bond with a new person or family and I'm trying to re home him without returning him to the shelter. He's current on all his shots, he's been neutered, a requirement at the shelter, and he has had basic training. He's completely crate trained and mostly housebroken. Big and I need a dependable family or person who can and will provide him with proper care and above all, love. I would suggest a single dog, single pet home. Here's a photo of Big and if anyone is interested in giving Big a caring home, please ask them to contact me through the contact form@one of a kind clay.com and we're going to have that link in the show notes. Thanks so much for being the value and sanity you have added to my life. And a shout out to all the listeners for keeping the faith and fighting to win. By the way, keep Asheville Weird. Yes. Thesis title. Oh I get an extra bonus, a thesis title. The Integration of Dance and Movement in Art and psychotherapy. Beautiful. UCLA Research Library, 1980 this puppy is adorable. This is thank you so much for sending this in Jan and everybody. There'll be a link in the show notes if you're interested. Finally, our final submission from Karina. We wanted to do more to support the Harris Walls campaign and after the DNC we knew we needed to do something as the GOP is doing many shenanigans in many states. We were introduced to seedthevote.org by a friend and we took five hours out of our Sunday to phone bank with an organization that they introduced us to. They made it super easy and we had great conversations with great people. So everybody, if you want to do something, as Michelle Obama said and you're not, you're able to make phone calls calls, then go to seedthevote.org thank you so much Karina for that. I love that. And it feels so good right when you're able to do something. You know, I sat and I electronically cured ballots for the Boebert Frisch race in Colorado's third district. And just doing that for a few hours each night, like really just made me feel really good. So thank you. Thank you for sending that in. Thank you to everybody for sending in all of your good news. If you have good news, send it to us@dailybeanspod.com and click on contact. Thanks to John Fugal Sang for joining me today for Fel saying Fridays. Thanks for letting me rant about Arlington. I'm so upset and disgusted by this and it's just going to get worse. You know, it's just going to get worse. He just wants to keep capturing the news cycle. As I was telling Fukle saying Roy Roy cone taught it him that all news is good news because you're capturing the news cycle. But anyway, I hope everybody has a great weekend. You don't want to miss this Sunday's episode of Jack. We're going to talk about the appeal of Eileen Cannon's bullshit and we're going to talk about the amazing superseding indictment, what's new, what's been taken out and why. And I get to talk to Andy McCabe about that, who's one of the just utmost experts on these kinds of investigations. So I'm really looking forward to that. There will be a cleanup up bonus. We've already recorded. There will be a beans bonus which might include maybe my thoughts on because in a few minutes here, Kamala Harris and Tim Walls are going to sit down for an interview on CNN with Dana Bash. So you might hear my thoughts on that as well. And I look forward to all of that and I look forward to Dana coming back mid next week and I'll be in your ears Monday. Until then, please take care of yourselves. Take care of each other, take care of the planet, take care of your mental health health, take care of your family. Vote blue over Q. Bring someone with you. Bring everyone with you. Go to vote.org check your registration. A million people were removed from the voter rolls in Texas. A million. So check your voter registration@vote.org and vote down ballot all the way. I've been AG and that was the beans.
B
Refried beans.
