Did the scratcher come to your house
A
and hand you a check?
C
No.
A
How many scratchers did you hit to get that? I hit a button on Carvana.com once. Okay, that's fair. It's like the lottery, except you always win.
B
Not like the lottery at all, actually.

You're listening to Comedy Central. From the most trusted journalists at Comedy Central. It's America's only source for news. This is the Daily show with your host, Joel Jordan Clover.
A
Welcome to the Daily Show. I'm Jordan Club where we got so much to talk about. Tonight, Trump visits Michigan to grope some cars. The one import that's not affected by tariffs is cocaine. And Canadians are very excited about a new bridge. Sorry aboot a new bridge. So let's get into headlines. Let's start in my home state of Michigan, which is Ojibwe for we're saving up to move to Chicago. Yesterday, President Trump visited a GM auto facility where he Kim Jong uned his way down the display floor, checked to see if a car was cake, and apparently got tricked into signing a lease. Donnie, Donny, don't get that rust proofing, okay? It's a scam. Trust me. By the way, I know we always rag on Trump for being weird, but knocking on the car hood is probably the most normal thing he's ever done. There is not a dad in the world who can walk past a new car without rapping on the hood to check that build quality. You know? Yeah, that's a car that checks out. Yeah. Yeah, you know what? But at least this tour went a lot better than the last time Trump visited a car facility in Michigan back in January, which, if you remember, went
E
like this as the president toured a Ford manufacturing factory. This moment caught on camera in video obtained by TMZ. One man shouting the president, pedophile protector.
A
Wow. Show some respect for the office. That's president, pedophile protector. Respect. Come on, Michigander. It was an embarrassing event for all involved. Luckily, this time, Trump made it through his whole tour without a hitch. And he was Able to move on to his speech.
F
The trade deficit in automobiles was more than $300 billion annually. That means outside countries and companies were coming in and just robbing us blind. And it was causing tremendous problems for your jobs. But now all of that is changing because I placed this.
A
Why does this keep happening? Is it the same guy? Is it something in the water? Is it because Trump withhead millions of Epstein files and people are furious that no one has been held accountable for it. We'll never know. But come on, Donald, this will not stand. Hit him with a comeback.
F
He's a communist. He's a communist.
A
Oh, okay. If you're wondering, communist is the opposite of pedophile. We all remember watching Karl Marx hosting To Catch a Predator. So, I mean, maybe this is the political spectrum now. Like, I'm just a straight down the middle type of guy. Fiscally communist, socially pedophile. Look, my fellow Michiganders, please stop shouting crazy shit at Donald Trump. He was elected to shout crazy shit at us. Continue.
F
For years, you watched companies move production from America down to Mexiho.
A
I'm sorry, down to where?
F
Mejo.
A
He's saying it that way on purpose. Next question. Why?
F
There's a very nice president of Mexico. You know that she's very nice and she speaks beautifully, and she calls it Meiji Ho.
A
Oh, please meet with China next week. Please meet with China next week. Please meet with China next week. While Trump is ranting about Meji Ho, just down the road, they're opening a new international trade route between the US And Canada. Or as Donald Trump calls it, Kana Ha. It's called the Gordie Howe International Bridge. It connects Michigan and Ontario in a symbolic unifying moment between the two countries.
E
Today was supposed to be this unifying moment between the two countries, but instead, it's sort of dripping with a stain. And that's because at the 11th hour, Trump imposed this 50% tariff. They were actually supposed to have a joint ribbon cutting between the two countries. Instead, Canada hosted their own without a single U.S. elected official in sight.
A
It's so heartbreaking to see mom and dad fighting like this. And to the bridge. It's not your fault. Think of it this way, little Gordy, you get to have two Christmases, okay? And even if Trump isn't excited for this bridge, Michigan. And that's why Michigan's local news offered rudimentary bridge driving tips. And I mean very rudimentary.
B
MSP pushed out an important warning for anyone who plans to use the new bridge.
D
First, check this out.
B
Don't stop on the bridge or exit your vehicle.
A
Great tip. You know, let me write this one down. Stop, stay in car while driving. Great. Awesome. Thank you, Andre. 1,000. Appreciate it. Do you have any more advanced tips for bridge driving?
B
Follow all posted traffic signs and message boards. Obey posted speed limits. Drive for the current traffic conditions. Stay focused on the road and. And put away any distractions. Buckle up every time, every trip.
A
Buckle my seatbelt. That's not even bridge specific. This is just a driver's ed class. I mean, why am I even taking driving tips from a guy who looks like he only travels by hot air balloon? Why are you talking like this is the first bridge Michigan has ever seen? Stop treating us like we're stupid. We're not Ohio. We're not. But let's move on. Because Trump isn't just beefing with Canada, he's also beefing with the entire rest of the world. He's losing his war with Iran. He's losing his war with Yemen. He's somehow losing Ukraine's war with Russia. And now it looks like he's even losing his war on drugs.
E
After bombing dozens of boats and hundreds of deaths, a DEA assessment reportedly shows Operation Southern Spear, which started in September, has now or even the purity of cocaine flowing into this country by sea.
D
Hell yeah.
A
Let's go. I mean, another policy failure from the Trump administration. Yes, Somehow the cocaine in America is not only still plentiful, but according to DEA officials and my stockbroker Cody, it's that good. Shit. I'm confused. How has the tactic of blowing up random fishing boats not stopped all drug traffic?
E
The Trump administration's strikes on alleged narco terrorists have only encouraged drug lords to find new ways to bring narcotics into the United States.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course drug lords found new ways. These are the same people who found a way to sneak in a powder using your butt. They're pretty good at problem solving. They probably all got in a room and were like, all right, if we're going to crack this drug smuggling nut, we got to pull an all nighter. But how are we going to stay up all night? Any ideas? Anybody? Anybody? Cody, you.
D
Huh?
A
But even as Donald Trump fails to contain the ever increasing and widening wars around him, his MAGA followers still stubbornly think of him as a peace president. It's a devotion I discovered recently. Last fall, I made a special about Trump's obsession with the Nobel Peace Prize. In hindsight, I really shouldn't have been surprised when every MAGA supporter assumed he already had it in the bag. Is Donald Trump, the peace president. I would say so. I would say he's done a lot better than some of the others.
D
Yeah.
A
How has Donald Trump done in terms of ending wars? I think definitely making it where there
E
won't be more in the future, for sure.
A
Not starting new wars. Yes, yes. That Greenland war is done.
D
Yeah.
A
That's not happening anymore.
D
Yeah.
A
Right. And I think we have Donald Trump to thank for that war, for sure. And for ending that war. Exactly.
E
Yeah, sure.
A
What is it about Trump that screams to you?
F
Peace.
A
He's bombing all the narco terrorists.
B
That's kind of.
A
I mean, I know it's not peaceful, but it's bringing more peace in America. People are saying, though, the way the actions we're taking are outside the judicial. Isn't it open, like, open waters? So maybe it's extra judicial. I think they're giving them enough due process. Trump hadn't yet invaded Venezuela or started a war with Iran, but he had deployed swarms of ICE agents and federal troops to American cities. What do you think of those images of federal troops in American cities? I think that needed to be done a long time ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why is that? Because those places are horrible.
F
Yeah.
A
Who is causing the crimes in Portland? Unfortunately, the African American demographic. So, wait, where are you getting this intel that it's black Americans? That's the problem. Before I came to Ole Miss, I was looking at going to the University of Oregon. You were in what? Eugene, Oregon. It didn't feel safe. Eugene, Oregon, did not seem safe. I say this with all due respect. Yes. Are you just a pussy? Looking back, it was obvious the MAGA crowd was afraid of liberal cities for one simple reason.
F
Antifa thugs. The domestic terror group. Antifa. Antifa.
A
But when I went to Portland, Oregon to meet with these antifa terrorists, I found. Not Glocks. Where should I look? Oh, here. Thank you. Thank you. I have to ask, are you an antifa thug? I am not an antifa thug, no. Have you seen any antifa thugs?
E
Because I've not seen any thugs.
A
That is what an antifa thug would say. Turns out this was a naked protest against Trump's immigration crackdown. And joining the lefty nudists were frightening farm animals. So, as somebody who was an early adopter to chicken costumes, what other cosplay are you sort of impressed by? The toad and the frog. Can you give me an antifa? Huh. That has been an incredible symbol. I think that one is caught on in a way that is really sustainable. What do you mean by that? Well, I don't know how intentional everything was with that or with this, but frogs work so well as an analogy right now. The frogs in boiling water. That's what we are as America in this moment. Like fascism is happening. It's not coming.
G
It's here.
A
And a lot of us have just been ignoring it as the temperature gets turned up. Do you think the frog understood that symbolism or just got super stoned and said, I'm wearing this? Can it be both? It probably can be both, yeah. Pay attention, America, because last fall it was Portland, Oregon. This spring it was Portland, Maine. And now I'm guessing Portland, Connecticut is about to get. When we come back, Lewis Black finds out who's watching you. Don't go away.
C
Most people don't realize how much their personal information is being bought and sold every day. Data brokers are making billions, pulling details about you from public records and the Internet and then packaging and selling it, usually without your consent. That's how your information lands in the hands of scammers, spammers, even stalkers. It's why you get endless robocalls and why ads seem to follow you everywhere. That's where Aura comes in. Aura actively removes your data from broker sites and keeps it off. They also instantly alert you if your information shows up in a breach or on the dark web. But Aura goes beyond data protection. With one app, you get a vpn, antivirus, password manager, spam call protection, dark web monitoring, and even up to $5 million in identity theft insurance, all backed by 24. 7 US based fraud support. Other companies might sell just credit monitoring or just a vpn. Aura gives you all of it together at the same price competitors charge for just one service. Welcome back to the Daily Show. When a news story falls through the cracks, Lewis Black catches it for a segment we call back in Black.
D
If you're anything like me, you love being watched. Whether it's getting changed in front of an open window, cutting my toenails on Twitch, or slurping lo mein on the gram. But while a little tasteful voyeurism revs my engines these days, being watched has gotten out of control.
A
There are 85 million surveillance cameras now across the country.
E
Tens of thousands of cameras tracking cars, including yours.
A
Nearly 80% of Americans own some sort of home security camera, including tens of millions of ring cameras everywhere, from hotels
E
and rental homes to cruise ship and airplane bathrooms.
D
What the hell are we doing? I've never sat next to an airplane bathroom and thought, ooh, I really need to see what's going on in there. So, like it or not, we're now being recorded everywhere all the time. It's gotten so bad, I can't even bury a dog in my neighbor's yard without them sending the video to the police. Mind your own business, creeps. But this goes beyond ring cameras and license plate readers. Now we've managed to make surveillance fun and trendy.
E
Kylie Jenner has partnered with Meta to launch a new line of smart glasses aimed at Fashion Forward consumers. The new sleek design combines AI features with a built in camera that captures photos and videos.
D
Oh, you go, Kylie Jenner. Collecting data and serving. Finally, a pair of glasses for Fashion Forward perverts. It's time to rise out of the bushes and jerk off on the Runway. You've earned it, queens. But of course, in real life, models aren't the one wearing these glasses. It's creeps like this.
E
A growing number of women are finding images of themselves posted on social media that they say were taken without their knowledge. People approaching other people on the street.
A
I thought you were kind of cute. Do you have a boyfriend?
E
It was just jarring to know that I was speaking with somebody, looking them in the eyes and had no idea that they were recording me. The man who posted the video is a content creator from Long island who calls himself Johnny Jestermack.
D
What is the world coming to when you can't even trust a guy named Johnny Jestermax? Next you're gonna tell me I can't trust my pal Marcus Molestermax. Come on, we've got tickets to see the Odyssey next week. And he's a whiz with that popcorn trick. What's wrong with this generation? They can't even be perverts without trying to go viral. Check it out, fam. I'm the jimothy of creeping out women. But it's not just the strangers up on the street. We're even stalking our own families.
C
Many of these young adults are also tracking their parents.
E
Teens check their family's location more than adults.
B
Some will text the parents when they see they are stopping for Starbucks. Say, hey, grab me a Frappuccino too.
A
Are some are pulling up to date
B
night to join their parents out for dinner.
A
This is called fan bushing.
D
What the is fan bushing? There is nothing heartwarming about kids showing up to block their parents. For the love of God, leave them alone. They're just trying to bone one more time before the divorce papers are signed. This shit would have Never been. Okay, when I was a kid, if I did this to my parents, they would have locked up my Ovaltine. And no one, I mean no one with my Ovaltine. So at this point, our privacy is essentially dead. But that won't stop some people from fighting back.
E
These are all examples of what's called adversarial fashion. Clothing and accessories designed to trick facial recognition software into mislabeling a person as something else, like a giraffe or a zebra.
D
Oh, Jesus Christ, no, I'm not wearing that. I'd rather you just stick a camera up my ass than walk around looking like Bob Marley. The Rorschach test. Imagine wearing a shirt so ugly, even AI is like, nah, I don't know that person. But look, it's clear that this is a losing battle. So if I'm going to give my last shreds of privacy away, I might as well look good doing it. Unbelievable. I am now blind. Jordan, Lois, bloke, everyone, we come back.
A
John, Hillary will be joining me on the show. Don't go away.

Welcome back to the Daily show. My guest tonight is an emmy winning actor who's currently nominated for album outstanding guest actor in the Apple TV series pluribus. Please welcome Jeff Hiller. I gotta tell you, it is. It is so nice to have a fellow tall person out here.
B
I know.
A
Hollywood is so short.
B
I know, I know. I always feel like I'm standing next to someone and I'm about to like, take them up the Empire state building.
D
Exactly.
B
I look so shockingly tall.
D
Yeah.
A
It feels like Jon Stewart always looks at me with those eyes like, will you put me on your shoulders? And I'm like, no. You just have to grow up a little bit, right?
B
Oh, I always say, yes, you do.
A
And that what makes you so good, you're so kind. You put all those actors about it and you just carry. You are here. Congratulations on your Emmy nomination.
B
Thank you. And you.
E
Thank you.
A
Congratulations. You do it for the noms, right?
B
Oh, that's the only reason I do it.
A
You have to get those nominations and
B
it's been a really dry 25 years,
A
but the last two, yeah, it's all about it. You're on two hit shows though. You're not only on Pluribus hit show Emmy nominated. You're also on Widow's bay Which everybody can't get enough of. Congratulations. Yeah, it's a good show. It's a good. Yes. And you won an Emmy last year for somebody somewhere.
B
I'm amazing.
A
You're incredible. Here's what I wonder. I'm curious now. On the street, when people say. They're like, hey, are you that guy from. What do they say?
B
Well, if they're holding their heart, it's somebody somewhere. And if they're like, are you that guy from It's American Horror Story? But a lot lately, even, like, the lady at Nordstrom Rack, they're like, I like Widow's Bay.
A
Oh, yeah.
B
I like when you screamed in Widow's Bay.
A
You think the Nordstrom Rack folks are really Widow's Bay people? Well, Burgdorf. Is that more. Is that more Pluribus Folk?
B
I've never been to Bergdorf.
A
I will be honest. I said Bergdorf. I don't know what I'm talking about. It's just. It's a comedic name of a department store.
B
Yes, it is a department, right?
F
Yeah.
B
There's probably Pluribus folk in there. When I shop at Bergdorf, everyone notices me from Pluribus. We're gonna edit that back.
A
No, that's in there.
F
Okay, good.
A
So Pluribus, you are so funny in Pluribus, and I feel like you play.
B
It's a drama.
A
It's a drama. Yeah. I think it's. You show up, and I laughed, and that has a little bit to do with the costume.
B
Oh, I know.
A
Can we see a picture of what Jeff was wearing in Pluribus? So they put you in.
B
Look at my face. I'm like, what happened?
A
When did they spring an outfit like that on you?
B
So this is a very secret show. You know, I didn't know the concept or anything when I auditioned. And then I just show up to the fitting. I still don't know the concept. And they're like, put on this bicycle outfit, you know? And I was like, what is this show? Had just, like, the slightest moment where I was like, am I in porn? And then Vince Gilligan was like, well, the hive mind. They don't have pride of personal appearance. And I was like, but I do.
A
As an actor, I care. There's vanity here, but they did let
B
me wear my shade underneath the.
A
Is that right? So you have an extra layer there.
B
You can kind of see the whale bones.
A
You know, it keeps it tight.
B
Yeah, yeah, keep it tight.
A
Well, like, this Pluribus is such a fascinating show, and you play a character who's also Part of a larger hive mind. But it almost seems like as you watch it, you're almost. It's almost as if you're playing ChatGPT.
B
Yeah.
A
Right. You're interacting with people. Have you heard this?
B
Yes. A lot of people have said you're just like ChatGPT.
A
Now, is that. Is that a reference point you. You didn't know going into it or even in your performance, or is that talked about with Vince Gilligan beforehand?
B
No, it was never mentioned until it came out. I think, like, we shot this kind of a long time ago. It was kind of before ChatGPT was ubiquitous, and so I hadn't really. I didn't really think about it. I was trying to convey extreme love for her, and instead I did chatgpt.
A
So that's your.
B
Anyway, it got an Emmy nomination for it.
A
Wow.
F
Yeah.
A
I mean, there you go. If that's the best you can do, congratulations.
B
Sometimes you aim for one target, you
A
hit another, and you're on screen for basically seven minutes. Yeah. And you pull an Emmy nomination. Yeah. Are you like the Jane? Jane. Jane. Dame Judi Dench.
B
I'm the Jane Dench.
A
You're the Jane Dench of the Emmys this season, right?
B
Jane Dench. Exactly. Jane Dench, the woman that you say. Who?
A
Who, Who? Yeah, she was that woman from that thing. Cause she won an Oscar for, like, eight minutes on screen.
B
Yeah. For Shakespeare in Love. Yeah. But she was dressed up like Queen Elizabeth. But I wore that bicycle thing, so.
A
Yeah, it's costume.
B
Judi Dench.
A
You are Judi Dench, Goddammit. Now, Widows Bay. I love Widow's Bay. Part of it is it has such an interesting tone to it. It's scary, it's funny, it's all sorts of things. And I know the creator, Katie Dippold, is a UCB person from the improv community that you did comedy with back in the day. Yeah. I'm curious if improv is on the set or if at this level, everybody just cops to the fact that. No, it's just a parlor trick people did in their youth.
B
We wasted our lives.
A
So much time.
B
No, there's a little bit. It's usually like a little improvising during the rehearsal, and then they say, yeah, you can do that one. But for the most part, it's just an incredibly scripted thing because, like you said, the tone is so strange that they really have to be like, we're working really hard on it.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
How do you enjoy. You like. Like Pluribus and Widow's Bay is such A those are dark shows.
B
I would one little clown Killer and it's a dark show.
A
There's a little. The Little Clown Killer. Somebody somewhere is such a life affirming, heartwarming show. Two different worlds to live in.
B
Yes.
A
What do you prefer?
B
Whichever one has the biggest check, baby.
F
Smart.
D
Smart capitalism.
B
I mean obviously somebody somewhere was like my heart. But I love being at Widow's Bay because it is so tonally odd and strange. Basically I just like to. I like to work. So whatever is good with me.
A
Is there any talk about the season two?
B
It's gonna be. There's gonna be one but no, they don't tell me anything.
A
You don't know shit.
B
No. Cause I got loose lips.
A
I just see you over at Bergdorf telling everybody.
B
Well, if you like Pluribus, let me tell you about this thing. This means shoplifting.
A
I want to know. Your Emmy speech last year had people in tears. They loved it. What are you going to say this year when you win? Do you know I'm not going to win? You're going to win, Jeff.
B
Ok, well I'll say this one makes more sense.
D
Suck it.
A
I think that's give the people what they want to hear about. Jeff, you are a delight. The Jane booty dench of our generation.
B
Emphasis on the booty.
A
Emphasis on the booty. Plumes and Winners Bay are sweeping now on opportunities. Hello, we'll take a quick break. We're right back at the end.

This episode is quintessential Daily Show: biting political critique, cultural satire, and a smart, off-kilter guest segment with Jeff Hiller. Klepper and the team bring the laughs by mocking political ineptitude (Trump’s repeated heckling, world affairs bungling, and bridge debacles), skewering America’s surveillance culture, and reminding us that fame—and privacy—comes in wildly unpredictable forms. The guest spot with Hiller adds warm, industry-insider levity and extends the episode’s celebration of comic resilience and reinvention, Emmy or no Emmy.
