Dale Jr. and Amy are back for another round of Bless Your ‘Hardt, and this one goes sideways quickly. The Stripper Squirrel makes its return and earns a new name, Dale and Amy debate whether they could survive a war, and Amy discovers that she may have been using Dale Sr.’s old tanning bed without realizing exactly whose butt had been in it. They also get into Brooks Nader’s topless family vacation, the school orientation that had Dale and Amy both feeling awkward, and Dale learns that all those good deeds might not be his ticket into heaven after all. It’s another classic Bless Your ‘Hardt episode you don’t want to miss.

Ralph
The following is a production of Dirty Mo Media.
Amy
Oh, yeah. This is the way it's going to be, girl. We're going to hang out, open a bunch of jars. You got big strong hands. Are you suffering from high crack?
Ralph
I'm working.
Amy
Working that mouth. Hey, y'. All, Dale and I are back in the Dirty Mo Media studio for another round of Bless yous Heart. We've got lots of fun stuff to talk about. Talk to you about today. First up, our stripper scroll's back. She made it back into the studio and this is where she's going to live. And she's doing her job pretty well, don't you think?
Ralph
It's not sitting on top of the speaker evenly and that's driving me crazy.
Amy
We'll fix it, but don't you mess up my high rock now.
Ralph
There.
Amy
Now she's even.
Narrator/Advertiser
That's better.
Amy
She's doing good. She's been at our house now next to the fish tank and it didn't seem to make sense. So she's back.
Ralph
Fans are asking, where is a squirrel? Yeah, I mean, I had people ask me that while I was out broadcasting.
Amy
Really?
Ralph
Yeah. Where's a squirrel?
Amy
Why aren't you carrying her around, showing her off?
Ralph
I'm like, man, this a lot more people listening to this show than you realize. Well, me and Amy,
Amy
that's a good thing, right?
Ralph
So me and Amy are in the process of. Before I start this bit, we want to do the drink of the week. It's time for the drink of the week. And that's presented to all of us by High Rock Vodka. It is. Is the High Rock Cream Sickle basically
Amy
one of our favorites.
Ralph
Yeah, I mean Creamsicle anything is pretty good. It's 1.5 ounces of orange dream Sipping Cream. That's your sugar lands moonshine and 1.5 ounces of high rock vodka. And then one ounce of half and half. And that's important. Oh, that's good. That half and half is an important part. Splash of vanilla extract. I don't think I want anything to do with an extract of anything.
Amy
Does that remind you of a tincture? Is that why?
Ralph
I just don't like the word extract and it doesn't sound like it belongs in food or drink. Extract sounds like something that has been expelled, something that is not necessary, something that should be removed.
Amy
It does have a connotation for negative.
Ralph
Sort of like I have extracted this out of my life.
Narrator/Advertiser
Extracted some fluid from your body.
Amy
It might be.
Ralph
Yeah, like I extracted that, that virus, that stomach virus or.
Amy
Good.
Narrator/Advertiser
Have you extracted it?
Amy
I think he's finally working on it. Oh really?
Ralph
We'll get to that. Oh, I think we should just put vanilla flavor in there. Like why can't we just have a splash of vanilla?
Amy
I don't even think it needs the vanilla.
Ralph
Why it doesn't. The word extract. We need to extract the word extract from the, from the recipe.
Amy
Can we call it a tincture?
Ralph
No.
Amy
Well, I'm glad you're over your stomach bug. I feel like you've. I mean we haven't talked about it in a few days. Usually I am up to. Up to the knowledge. You know what I mean?
Ralph
To the.
Amy
To the what? Usually if you've got something going on, an ailment of any sort you've been well aware of. I am well aware, exactly. But I feel like it's past. So it's not, but. Oh, so just stop talking about it, I guess.
Narrator/Advertiser
Well,
Ralph
I didn't want to share this but I had a stomach bug for nine days. Like usually you get like a 24 hour bug. And I don't know if this is the lettuce thing or whatever. I know a friend of mine had the lettuce bug and he was Good in like 36 hours, 20, you know, couple days.
Amy
He also went to the doctor and got medicine.
Ralph
He did get a nap. He did get medicine. I refuse medicine.
Narrator/Advertiser
He did get medicine. Did you just say.
Ralph
Yeah, he got an antibiotic. Yeah, which I was like, ah, my old, my tough ass body will just kick its ass. But no, nine days. It was Touch and go.
Amy
The food touched his mouth and then he would go, yeah, it's bad.
Ralph
And I think it's gotten better. So last couple of trips to the restroom have been more what you would expect.
Narrator/Advertiser
Less pace when you're going to get
Amy
there frantically running anymore, clenching your butt cheeks.
Ralph
No. No. So all that was good. But what I was going to say is,
Amy
well, back to the creamsicle. So tomorrow is National Creamsicle Day, which is why we're enjoying this today. I got you to remind everyone, tomorrow is National Creamsicle Day. So this is a perfect cocktail for you to make.
Ralph
I like creamsicles flavors. What were we talking about right before that? Because I was going to tell a story.
Narrator/Advertiser
Well, don't forget to drink responsibly.
Amy
I don't know. Don't Forget to hit highrockbotica.com to find a bottle near you. You can find all of the locations for any of the sugar lens products in your area. And then also, please drink responsibly. You must be 21 years or over.
Ralph
Yeah. So.
Amy
So what's your story, Ralph?
Ralph
What were you. What did you say right before the drink of the week?
Amy
I don't know. We're talking about the stripper squirrel.
Ralph
Yes.
Amy
So we're talking about. And we have flirted with games. I feel like we landed on Brenda, but we haven't called her anything really.
Ralph
Or Lorraine.
Amy
Oh, it has to be.
Narrator/Advertiser
What about Luann?
Amy
Luann.
Ralph
No, Brenda and Lorraine are my mother's names.
Narrator/Advertiser
Well, wait, we're gonna name.
Amy
See, this is where it gets weird for me. I mean.
Ralph
Well, then name it something. It has to have some. I don't know, I just think it feels like it needs to have a name that would be connected to our.
Amy
I feel like your mom all would think that's funny for like a minute. And then she'd be like, all right, if I'm the stripper squirrel. Okay, I'm going to get you back. You know what I mean?
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
I'm kind of nervous that she's all right. I don't know. I feel like she knew the stripper name.
Ralph
Okay. Mercedes.
Amy
Mercedes.
Ralph
That's like the top stripper name.
Amy
Mercedes.
Narrator/Advertiser
Is it Charity.
Amy
Charity.
Ralph
Charity is probably number two.
Narrator/Advertiser
Destiny.
Amy
Destiny.
Ralph
That might be number one. Destiny. Charity. Mercedes, kind of. That's a good top three. Destiny.
Amy
Destiny. Destiny it is. So Destiny has made it back to the studio. She's holding some high rock. She's got a mini bottle, and she's got some Red Bull also.
Ralph
So. So yesterday, kids going back to School.
Amy
We.
Ralph
What do you call that thing? What do you call that when you.
Narrator/Advertiser
Orientation.
Amy
Orientation.
Ralph
Orientation.
Amy
So it wasn't a full day. They're just going to meet their teachers and.
Ralph
All right, so we go back to school and I'm, we're, you know, we're sitting there and we're seeing all these parents and you know, you're seeing there's a lot of women, right? Because there's teachers. It's just ratio man, women to man is probably 70% women, 30% men in this room, in this gymnasium. And you're, you're saying you're seeing people. You're like, oh, yeah, hey, how you doing? You know, and, and just, it's nice, you know, kind of seeing people. You hadn't seen everybody during the summer and everybody's like, hey, how's the beach? You know, whatever. Oh, you got, you know, you got two. You got your girls coming to school here now. You know, everybody's just talking. It's fun. And midway through this, this experience, I just had a, I just had a realization.
Amy
Which is what?
Ralph
That a lot. I bet a lot of these people inadvertently, unwillingly, or maybe willingly see a lot of clips from this show.
Amy
And what made you think that?
Ralph
I don't know, we were standing because
Amy
of the comments about the beach. Like, we don't talk to all these people all summer.
Ralph
Something triggered, man, they've seen all, they've seen the clips of the stuff we talk about on this show. And I got real self conscious because teachers are like, oh no, there's a lot of teachers.
Narrator/Advertiser
Parents, we got their good.
Amy
We don't know that. We do know that some of the teachers think bigger.
Ralph
Parents, friends of. And you know, our kids, parents, our kids are friends with this folks. And these parents over here and they're like, they let their kids come over to our house or something and have a sleepover.
Amy
Now they know how crazy we are.
Ralph
And I'm like, here I am in this room going, oh, hey, nice to meet you. Hey, yeah, good, see you.
Amy
Meanwhile, last week he talked about how much diarrhea he had.
Ralph
Yeah. And we're gonna run, we're gonna cut a six minute clip, me talking about how I had a damn stomach bug for nine days and. Or something other crazy mess going on. And we just give our, you know, matter of fact opinions on just life and, and we're crude and rude at times and obnoxious and we call ourselves. And so I'm standing there and I'm like, man, these people know I ain't like this. They know I ain't all bubbly and hey, yeah, how y' all doing? And I'm thinking, wait a second. And so I'm standing there going, man, I'm a fraud. Like, why can't I just be myself all the time?
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
I mean, you do turn up the charm, right? And you're in. Right. When you're in certain, you know, certain situations.
Amy
It's called manners, Rob.
Ralph
Yes, yes.
Amy
You have manners, right? In certain. But I'm standing there and I'm like, environments. It's like, better to not be your full self.
Ralph
I know, but I'm sitting there trying to be super, super charming, like a meet and greet. And I'm like, yeah. And I'm like, they know this is. They, you know, they see these clips and how we act. And then we sit down and there's this lady giving a speech in front of all of us.
Amy
She's giving us a lesson. Like a chapel lesson.
Ralph
She's giving us a lesson. Yeah, and it's great, great lesson. But in the middle of the lesson, she says, we need. We need to put down the podcasts.
Amy
She says, I listened to a lot of podcasts. She was, she was being self defecating. She was talking about being focused and more present in her own life and how she loves a podcast. Y loves to listen to podcasts. And she's like, and I won't say which ones. Yes, unless you want to come talk to me one on one, and then I'll give you my list. And Dale and I were sitting straight in the center of the gymnasium.
Narrator/Advertiser
I would have sunk into my chair
Amy
right in the middle. And if we had a seat back, I would have.
Ralph
I was, I had just had this realization like five minutes before about the podcast. And then we sit down and she
Amy
says that and like, almost line of sight.
Ralph
When we're done, I had three or four parents come up to me and go, oh, man, when she talked about podcast, I was thinking about you. And I was like, boy, Dale, I bet he's loving this. And I'm like, no, not really.
Amy
Quite the opposite, actually.
Ralph
And so, man, now I. Now I sit down here today with you guys with a very heavy complex.
Amy
And well, we've already covered poop, alcohol, and the stripper squirrel, so we're set for success. You know, I thought you were drinking
Narrator/Advertiser
at 9:30 in the morning too.
Ralph
I did have the time of my life.
Amy
Listen, Dale usually goes to environments like that and stays close to me, doesn't talk to a whole bunch of people, keeps to himself, speaks when spoken to. Just because he feels like, you know, most of the time when he goes into a crowd of people, it's for nascar, it's for performance, basically. Like, he's doing the meet and greet. He's there to work, and so he doesn't know how to act otherwise. You know what I mean? And so we go and he's gotten so comfortable with all these parents because we've been with the same kids since Isla was in kindergarten. She's now in the third grade. And we've all become friends and half of them are racing people, any way that we know. So, like, we get into the gym and he looks around, he's like, I know half these people now. When we first got here, I didn't know anybody.
Ralph
We went there three years ago. I didn't know but about two or three people in the entire gym. All the parents are sitting in the bleachers.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
And we sit down there yesterday, and I'm like.
Amy
Felt like a reunion, man.
Ralph
I know half people in here now.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
And I'll be honest, Amy's right. There are a lot of race and industry folks, but there's a lot of average, everyday folks in there that ain't got nothing, no connection. And those are actually the real fun ones because, like, when I'm talking to this dad and he's just going to go back and do his regular and work his ass off, I feel really better and normal than, oh, man, this is. Got this guy works on this race team. This guy.
Narrator/Advertiser
This guy's.
Ralph
As crew chief for this. We, you know, it has given you
Amy
the opportunity to have friends in that type of space. Yes.
Ralph
Yeah. I'll see this season. I'll see the dads that are just like, you know, dad and like, hell. And they got their job and they got their vacation house they go to and. And they got, you know, their family, and they're just rocking and rolling.
Amy
And I'm like, Dale's talking about baseball cards with all these guys to the point where, like, they're blocking the entrance to the doorway here and there. There's people trying to get around them with the stroller. I'm like, sorry. They're. They're tell, you know, talking about baseball cards.
Narrator/Advertiser
Boys being boys.
Amy
Yeah, boys. That's exactly what the gentleman who was pushing the baby stroller around them said. Boys will be boys. Next we're gonna talk about football. You just wait till we get into the gym. I'm like, oh, okay. So they're all on the same team. You know, it doesn't take much for
Narrator/Advertiser
a guy to talk to another random dude.
Amy
No. Well, they've actually gone shopping together, this other, this man that he's talking about. So it's. They have real friendships made. And so it was like a reunion. I like walking around, getting the car passes, going to the IT department to like get login information for the homeschool teacher. Like, I'm doing work, Dad's playing. He's having like his own little meet and greet reunion with his buddies.
Ralph
We're just hanging out.
Amy
Just hanging out. I forgot to the point where I lost him.
Ralph
I forgot I was there for a reason.
Amy
Yeah. So at one point when it's all over, I look up and I'm like, I don't see him anywhere. So I just go to get the girls from the classroom and eventually he comes back behind me, pokes me in the butt. I'm like, there he is.
Ralph
I walk up there and poke her in the butt because I, I know she's like, it better be Dale.
Amy
I really hope that's Dale. How am I gonna, how am I gonna respond if it isn't that fun
Ralph
to do to your. To your better half? Like put em in some goose them in public.
Amy
Yeah. Awkward, precarious situations. Yeah. You do that quite often.
Ralph
I know. I love it.

Speaking of starting school, this morning, the girls get up. It's their first full day of school. I have these really cute dresses that I had their school logos put on. They wear uniforms, you know, but they have, like, a little leeway with the actual garment. So I got these cute little navy blue dresses. They have collars, they have little puffy sleeves. They're adorable. So I lay it out for Ailey yesterday. She sees it. She doesn't say anything. She gets up this morning, and she is just full of attitude. She puts the dress on. She comes in Nicole's room because I'm already in there trying to get her dressed, and she's got the dress on backwards. She's like, mom, this dress is in my neck and it's got puffy sleeves. And I was like, first of all, you've got it on backwards. Let's spin it around, see how you like it then. Well, it's still gonna have puffy sleeves. I am not wearing this. I'm like, first of all, exit the room. Because I want the other kid who's also not into puffy sleeves, to put the puffy sleeve dress on. So, like, take your attitude elsewhere. I was like, okay, go. Go pick out your stuff then. You've got plenty to choose from. Go get yourself dressed. So she goes, and she comes back. Nicole puts her dress on, fits like a glove. She looks at herself in the mirror. I love it. And she's so excited to go to the same school as Nicole or as Isla that she doesn't care what she's wearing.
Ralph
Nicole has been waiting for this day forever. For over a year, she has talked about, when am I going to Isla school, When am I going to Isla school?
Amy
As soon as she had preschool graduation.
Ralph
And I ain't never seen a kid so excited about the first day of school in my. She was pumped.
Amy
She was pumped about her backpack, her lunchbox, her water bottle, which she's seen before.
Narrator/Advertiser
It was very important stuff, all the
Amy
things, and she didn't care what she had on. She was going to school with Isla. And how did Carla next it go, by the way? Because. So Isla used to get out of the car and, like, cling to the seat to the point where it was, like, embarrassing for the whole crying.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
And Nicole's never really been, like, a crier. When you leave her, she just kind of gives you a thumbs up. Peace out. Even at preschool. And so Dale does drop off, because I don't want Isla to throw a fit.
Ralph
So we get to drop off.
Narrator/Advertiser
And
Ralph
first off, it was a high energy in the house this morning.
Amy
Well, there was a lot going on. It started off with attitude, and then it ended with me giving Isla a bottle of water. She took some vitamins before she was leaving. I was gonna give her a bottle of water just to swallow it down. It had no top on it. And then she doused herself in water right as she's supposed to walk out the door. And I'm like, we got four change.
Ralph
We got 45 minutes before she's supposed to get out of the car. And Amy's like, she's got to change. I'm like, it'll dry.
Amy
It wasn't like 45 minutes. It's a cotton shirt, and it wasn't a small drop. She completely doused her white shirt.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ralph
Well, she changes clothes, comes down, everything's fine. We get in the car.
Amy
It's really just me. I am nervous. Yeah.
Ralph
Amy was super nervous.
Amy
It's first day of school. I'm nervous that Nicole's not going to have a good day. It's a long day, having a great day.
Narrator/Advertiser
They just want it to go great.
Amy
I just want it to go well, and I want them to be in good mood. So I'm trying to stay as little as possible, but, like, there's all these little things that keep happening to, like, test my patience. So it's really just me.
Ralph
They're doing great. They're having a great time. So, yeah, drop off was fine. This is the first time we're dropping off. We're both are in the car, and we get. We get ready to get out. The clock strikes a certain time, and Nyla goes, it's time. Open the door. Nicole is the F next to the door. Nicole goes, I don't want to do it. And I'm like, yeah, just open the door and hop out. It's everybody else is doing it in front of us in the cars.
Amy
She didn't want to be the one to open the door.
Ralph
I don't want to open it. Isla, you open it. And so Nicole and Isa shift past each other so Isla can open the door. And Isla got to give her a lot of credit yesterday at the. What do they call it?
Amy
Orientation.
Ralph
Orientation. Yesterday at orientation.
Narrator/Advertiser
That's the word of the day.
Amy
Yeah. Our drinking word of the day is orientation.
Ralph
As soon as we get there, Isla holds Nicole's hand, walks her into her classroom, shows her her desk, tells her all she can about this experience. And I'm like, we didn't ask her to do that. And I said to her later in the day, I said, isla, I want to tell you something that really impressed me, how you were trying to make your sister really comfortable with that new classroom and all this new experience. I'm so thankful. You are a great big sister there. No one told you to do that. You did that on your own, and that was a great move. And they're on the same. You know, they're. They're. They're very close together in proximity in classrooms. It's very nice.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
But anyways, we get ready to get out, and Isla's got to open the door now. So Isla opens the door. Coley's like, isla, will you help me with my bag? And I'm like, isla, you just help your sister get the bag out. And I want you, at least today, this first day, to walk with her all the way to her classroom. Don't take off running. Run over, run. See a buddy of yours and go. Go running up and leave her. I was like, walk with your sister all the way to her class, first day. And then, you know, to help her get through that process, because she's going to do that by herself for the rest of the year. But it was great.
Amy
Nicole's class is on the way to Isla's, so there's no excuse. It should be really easy for her to do that. The other thing that happened this week, like, I think that it had to do with starting school for Nicole, was she decided that she's not gonna go by Coley anymore. Two days ago, we're sitting on the couch, and she goes, mom, I won't be answering to Nicole. I won't be answering to Coley anymore. Or Nicole. You can call me Nicole, or you can call me Ms. Nicole, if you prefer. And I looked at her, I was like, what? And she said, I don't want to be called Coley anymore. I'm like, okay, is that because you're going to school? Like, I don't know what the deal is. I was laughing so hard, I couldn't really wrap my head around what to ask her, but she was dead serious. And so yesterday, we're at orientation, and we're there with Christy outside. They had a bouncy house. After the whole thing was over, they had, like, a festival happening. And so she's getting ready to take her shoes off and go do the bouncy house. And I was telling Christy about this, and she said, hey, Coley, da, da, da, da. And I was, like, just waiting to see if Nicole was going to turn around. She absolutely held to it until. Until Christy said Nicole. She didn't turn her head to look at her.
Ralph
Bang.
Amy
Yeah, she's serious. She doesn't want that little nickname to follow her all the way through the rest of her school life, I guess.
Ralph
Okay,
Amy
so she's lost her junior, I guess. You know what I mean?
Ralph
Well, she won't.
Narrator/Advertiser
Is it gonna be easy for you guys to adjust?
Amy
No, that is caller Coley. So much more than we realized.
Ralph
Such a habit.
Amy
Well, I hate that she doesn't like it.
Ralph
She's never even told us it's a phase.
Amy
You think it's a phase?
Narrator/Advertiser
I wonder if she thinks it's, like, little and she's, like, a big girl now.
Amy
She's a big girl now, and she's not taking Coley anymore.
Ralph
It's fine.
Narrator/Advertiser
It'll come back around.
Amy
I'm sure it will. Somebody around her who has known her for a while will say it, and then the other kids are gonna pick.
Narrator/Advertiser
So when she gets older and she drinks, that's gonna be alter egos.
Amy
Coley.
Narrator/Advertiser
Coley comes out.
Amy
Oh, my gosh. Then she'll, like.
Narrator/Advertiser
That'll be her jimmy jam.
Amy
Her jimmy jam. Did you see this? This week, Brooke Nader had Ralph.
Ralph
Who's Brooke Nader?
Amy
Not important. She's hot girl. I forget what her dad's famous for, what their family's famous for. Her sisters are hot. She's dated some athletes. She went on a vacation in Europe with her family, and I think that they're on a boat. Yeah, these people are from Louisiana. They are not Europeans. She is topless on the boat right there next to her daddy, completely nude, and he's looking at her boobs right there.
Ralph
So weird.
Amy
It's so weird. I mean, I know people do this in Europe, and they have Topless beaches. But, like, you don't take your titties out in front of your dad when you're 25 years old. Can you imagine me doing that in front of my dad?
Ralph
I'm feeling weird now.
Amy
It's so bizarre.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
And she's got sisters. I guess the sister that's crouched down right there is half naked also. But the whole thing is so weird. So this picture has, like, gone viral, and people are, oh, I have the
Narrator/Advertiser
same swim trunks that he has. And I feel weird now for even having the swim trucks.
Amy
You have those same pranks.
Narrator/Advertiser
I'm sure I have those swim trunks.
Amy
It could be you, Travis. It could be you.
Narrator/Advertiser
Like, what? I just don't get it.
Amy
I don't either. Like, how? So here's the thing. Like, she did it knowing that she was close enough to photographers so that they would take her picture because she likes attention. Or she had no idea. And then, why are we doing it? The whole thing doesn't make any sense to me. It's just bizarre.
Narrator/Advertiser
It's one thing if, like, she was photographed on the top of a boat and, like, her dad's down below.
Amy
Yes. And she's just laying on her stomach.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah. Or on her back. But it's, like, just the girls up there.
Amy
But, like, I'm telling you right now, my dad's on the same boat. I don't care how big it is. I'm not taking my titties out. Not happening.
Narrator/Advertiser
Would you ever eat at a restaurant naked? Because that's a new thing.
Ralph
What?
Amy
No. We don't even like chopsticks that are metal. We don't eat naked.
Narrator/Advertiser
There's this restaurant, I think, down in Florida, the first Monday of every month, it's clothing auctions. You can go in there and dine naked.
Amy
What kind of food is it?
Narrator/Advertiser
Like a steakhouse.
Amy
It's a steakhouse.
Narrator/Advertiser
You're like a strip steak.
Amy
You're eating some meat with your meat out. Your meat's on the seat. Eating meat.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Amy
That's freaking weird.
Narrator/Advertiser
Girls, it's like 150 guys. 200, I think. Couples, it's 300.
Amy
You have to pay to be naked. They don't pay you well.
Narrator/Advertiser
That's part of the dining. Like, the whole, like, eating and everything.
Amy
Dale's locked up. He ain't even gonna respond. Now he's done. He's left the building. Please tell me what the name of this restaurant is.
Ralph
No, don't.
Amy
Have you ever done anything weird like that, Ralph?
Ralph
Eat at a restaurant naked?
Amy
I mean, anything weird that falls in that category. I couldn't explain it, but I had to try it just once.
Ralph
No.
Amy
Like, we were in the south of France and I still didn't, like, go topless on the topless beach. There were only a couple of ladies that were topless and they were like the nonas of the group. You know what I mean?
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
He's too scared to say too much.
Ralph
I don't want to insult anybody.
Narrator/Advertiser
Speaking of vacation, should we talk about the other topic?
Amy
What topic?
Narrator/Advertiser
I've gone to a tanning bed before, like, before vacation, and I can fall asleep in, like, 30 seconds in a tanning bed, and I'm out cold.
Amy
Please. You go to a tanning bed.
Narrator/Advertiser
I went to, like, before, like, going, like, Mexico. So, like, you. Then you're not going to get burnt when you go down there.
Amy
You go lay in a baked bed.
Narrator/Advertiser
You go in like, two or three times and just get, like, a base. Yeah. Like, it's coming off of wintertime base.
Amy
Do they still have those beds now? Like, you can go lay in a bed still?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Amy
I didn't know that was still a thing. I mean, I always get spray tans because girls do that, but fun fact, you definitely still get burnt.
Ralph
Fun fact about tanning beds. Dad and Teresa did an ad for a tanning bed back in 1984 or 85. I have that tanning bed.
Amy
Mm. I have laid in that tanning bed. It's been a while ago, but I
Ralph
never once laid a nap.
Narrator/Advertiser
Oh, it's so relaxing, man.
Ralph
I have it, though, because it's like a relic. And I'm like, hey, me and Amy started dating. I mean, this damn tanning bed. Let's count the days.
Amy
I mean, it was 20 years old then.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
I mean, over that, 25.
Ralph
I mean, Tanner beds are dangerous enough as they are.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ralph
Did you climb in, like, an original tanning bed before they knew what they knew?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ralph
They probably, like, you know, got smarter and we're like, hey, man, let's not use them kind of bulbs. That's killing people. Let's. Let's put these types of bulbs in there.
Amy
It had the bulbs in it that got really hot, like, on your skin, you know, the tanning beds, like, as they developed, they would. They were more like lasery then they weren't. So I don't heat hot.
Ralph
I always looked at tanning beds as. There's no way. That's not bad for you. Like, oh, it's awful for you. Yeah. Like, and this is, like, one of the first iterations of Tanning beds ever.
Amy
Like, it was the OG Tanning.
Ralph
It's the OG Tanning bed that's probably got all the bad going on. You know what I mean?
Amy
It was so old, the bulbs had to have been weak, right?
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Amy
I feel like they were weakened in a weekend to stay.
Ralph
Whatever you need to tell yourself.
Amy
Well, I never, like, really got tan in that thing. I just. I laid it in a couple times and gave up.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
It was also, like, where all the gym equipment was, so I would work out and I would just, like, lay in it.
Ralph
Used to lay in that damn thing all the time.
Amy
Really?
Ralph
Yes.
Amy
Gross.
Ralph
I know.
Amy
I mean, no one's gonna clean it. That's what I'm saying. I probably laid in there in Sean's crusty sweat.
Ralph
Ew.
Amy
I'm sure I did.
Ralph
Gross.
Amy
Gross. And whoever else you let lay in that thing, Teresa. Oh, my God.
Ralph
Dad. I don't know.
Amy
Surely you got your own. Was that your dad's tanning bed?
Ralph
Yes.
Narrator/Advertiser
No, that was that tanning bed that
Ralph
came out of their house.
Amy
Oh.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
I thought maybe it was, like, an extra one.
Ralph
No, it's the one that's even more weird.
Amy
Did your dad lay in it?
Ralph
Maybe.
Amy
Did he naked. Get naked in that thing?
Ralph
More than likely.
Narrator/Advertiser
Just a lot of sweaty butt juice.
Amy
Man, my head is really having a hard time right now. Oh, man, this has gone too far.
Narrator/Advertiser
I can't imagine.
Ralph
It's not even in the notes.
Amy
I used to get so hot in the tanning bed that, like, I'd sweat and then I'd slide around in that thing.
Ralph
Gross.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
That's freaking disgusting.
Narrator/Advertiser
But they spray it down afterwards.
Ralph
They.
Amy
If you go to. Yeah, this one thought, oh, yeah, we
Ralph
need to clean it. Nope, you just let it air out, cleaning.
Amy
Nothing. Maybe that's why the bulbs were weakened from all the sweat crusted up on the top of the lens.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
Gross.
Ralph
Pretty gross.
Amy
We should go check it out, see if it still even fires up.
Narrator/Advertiser
Did you add the cleaning of the bathroom vanity?
Amy
Yeah. So Dale and I are in at the beach house last weekend. We decided to hop down for a couple days, and we go hang out at one of our favorite little restaurants. And we're sitting outside having a drink, and I go inside, go to the bathroom, and there's this, like, really long vanity, and there's water everywhere. Like, where's this? In Sullivan's. And so I just inadvertently wash my hands. But I start cleaning up the vanity, and because there's, like, so much water, it's going to get on my Clothes. But also, like, I'm just kind of disgusted with whatever pile of women or one person that did this. And so I clean it up, and it's like second nature to do that. And I kind of do that. Anytime I go into a public restroom and I wash my hands, if there's paper towels, I like, I just wipe the sink down before I throw them away, just to make sure there's no extra water anywhere. And so I come out and I tell and Dale about that, and he's like, I do that, too. If I'm in the bathroom and there's a bunch of water, if it's really gross, I wipe it down.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
Does anybody. You do that?
Ralph
We. Amy, come out. Amy, come out and sit down. And we were waiting on our food, and she goes, man, the bathroom vanity is full of water. I cleaned it up. Sorry. You know, she was kind of explaining her why it took so long her delay. And I was like, no, because I literally just did the same thing. Like, I was in their men's bathroom, and there was water all over the place, and I washed my hands, and now I got this complex.
Amy
Like, so I think I did.
Ralph
Somebody's going to go in there and think that I left it this way.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
And so I'm like, oh, I'll clean it up, wipe it up. No big deal.
Amy
Second nature to do that. I don't leave it.
Narrator/Advertiser
If there's multiple sinks, I will try to go to one. That's not. But if. Then I will. And then.
Ralph
Yeah. I mean, it just. If I'm in an airport, I'm not cleaning vanity, of course, in the airport. But I'm just. This was a. This was a restaurant. Single bat. You know, single. Single stall, one urinal, one sink.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ralph
And you're the only one in there, and you're gonna leave, and the next person goes in is gonna go, damn, that guy destroyed this place.
Amy
You know, the thing is, there were so many people that came in and used it and washed their hands and didn't clean it up. So that's what I was wanting to talk about it for, is like, who else is cleaning up the vanity? And who else is just gonna leave it as is?
Ralph
I would say every. You know, every fourth person just uses it and leaves. One out of every five might wipe it.
Amy
I feel like it's more like one out of every ten.
Ralph
Or one out of ten. Then, fine, one out of ten.
Amy
But there's some sloppy people out there. Clean up the sink.
Narrator/Advertiser
It's like, give your hands a shake before you go to get the paper towels over.
Amy
Yeah.
Narrator/Advertiser
In the middle.
Amy
And if there's paper towels, there's really no excuse. If it's a hand dryer, I get it. If there's paper towels, wipe your mess up. Just clean it up.
Ralph
Yeah. I don't know. It. It's no big deal. I feel good when I do it.
Amy
Tidying up.
Ralph
I feel like a good Samaritan.
Amy
Yeah. You're always doing the things for brownie points.
Ralph
And I talk, you know, and you're not. Acts of.
Amy
Acts of service.
Ralph
Acts of service. And doing good isn't. I've learned that doing good and good deeds aren't the key to going to. To heaven.
Amy
That's right. So Dale used to think that if you did a couple of naughty things, if you did a bunch of good things, it would cross it out.
Narrator/Advertiser
It does.
Ralph
You're gonna get.
Amy
It does not.
Ralph
If you get to the gates and you're like, I don't want to get into this any further than this. But if you get to the gates and you're like, all right, y', all open up. Y' all remember that thing I did? Y'.
Narrator/Advertiser
All.
Ralph
Y' all saw what I did. You know, Y' all saw all the good stuff I did. Right? Let. Hit the button. Right.
Amy
Let the real roll.
Ralph
Open it all up. Y' all know I did all that good stuff. Come on. But that's not what gets you in. And so when I learned faith gets you in.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Ralph
I just recently learned that the good
Amy
deeds are just extra.
Ralph
Yeah. The good days don't really. It's kind of like you're supposed to do the good deeds. It's not really like you get a. You get a reward for it at the end. But I learned that, and I'm like, oh, man, I'm. I'm still going to do the good deeds, you know, because I just. It makes me feel good.
Amy
Yeah. So you do it for yourself. That's. And that makes you a good person or makes you feel like a good person. It kind of like, is a cyclical effect of life for being good. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Ralph
Now, I don't always do every. I don't. I don't. I'm not, like, walking around doing good deeds all the time. Like, there's probably some I'm not aware of or self aware of, and I probably walk past a lot of that. I ought to clean up or pick up or do. Or help. Help somebody with or whatever.
Amy
You're not as naughty as you used to be.
Ralph
No. I'm way better. I used to be a real piece of.
Amy
Total punk. I don't know if I'd call you a piece of.
Ralph
You can all think punk.
Amy
I'd give you.
Ralph
Golly, man. Especially when I was not, you know, about to have to do something I didn't want to do.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
And I still get that way a
Amy
little bit, but not. I still get that near the level.
Ralph
If I've got. If I got a job to do, this that day or the next day, I'll get in a bad mood thinking about it, and I'll be like, man, I don't want to do that. Why'd I say I'd do that? Why did I say, you know, months ago I'd go do this thing. I don't want to do it now. I won't be home or whatever. And I'll start treating everybody around me
Amy
like start stomping his feet in the house.
Ralph
I start, and then I go home and I think about it, and I'm like, man, I was a. I was a. And I'll call him or text on, man, if I was. I'm sorry. I feel bad. I'm just annoyed by this.
Amy
Sorry.
Ralph
And they're like. And then. Then I'm like, man, I'm just exposing myself. Now they know I'm an. Maybe they didn't even think about it or didn't even.
Amy
Now I'm just like, you overthink everything, remember?
Ralph
Oh, you don't. I will never forget.
Amy
Never mind. Just kidding. I didn't. I don't even know. I just brought it up. Just kidding.
Ralph
Yeah.
Narrator/Advertiser
Should we get into.
Amy
There's a TikTok trend we want to try.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah.
Amy
Oh, ready?
Ralph
I gotta get my phone. I got your phone. I got my phone somewhere. Why do you have it?
Amy
You handed it to me.
Ralph
Damn. I did.
Amy
Dang, dude.
Ralph
I was looking for the second gun. I'm like.
Amy
I watched the video getting out of this. Out of the truck and walking into school.
Ralph
So I don't have 10.
Amy
You also need to wash the truck.
Narrator/Advertiser
So for the people, it's this trend going that the spouse asks them why they're unfit for war. So Amy would ask Dale why she's unfit for war.
Ralph
I only got six, six reasons why Amy would be unfit for war. Instagram scrolling would bog down her unit's communication ability.
Narrator/Advertiser
That's so true.
Amy
I think it's funny. He thinks I'm on. He's on my. I'm on my phone more than he is.
Narrator/Advertiser
But you are on Instagram a Lot.
Ralph
All right. She would be often.
Amy
That little green dot is not real. You know, Hello. I get. I also get notifications. So, like, when people that I know.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
Message me, I can get to it faster.
Ralph
Number two, she would often be distracted by any canine units and let any street animals into the camp.
Amy
Yes, I would. We'd have a whole zoo.
Ralph
Number three, she would misplace the keys to the Hummer or tactical vehicles.
Amy
You should sleep in the car.
Ralph
Number four, there's no going to bed before 9am every night, so that wouldn't work. 9am, 9pm Sorry. Number five, she would quit after a few days of no plumbing or for showers and poops.
Amy
I mean, for sure.
Ralph
And number six, she would fall asleep on night watches.
Amy
Absolutely. Night watches are for you. All right. Why Dale is a no go for war. Someone didn't wake him up to get to battle, so he missed it.
Narrator/Advertiser
Where's Mike Davis at?
Amy
Then he had to poop, so he missed the next one. TJ Said he had a game to play, so he missed the next one. Then he needed to take a nap, so he missed the next one.
Narrator/Advertiser
These are good.
Amy
Finally got there. But he had to stop and shake hands and take pics with all the soldiers. So not everybody's dead.
Ralph
Everybody's dead.
Amy
And then he decided, after all, he would just be friends with the enemies because he actually hates front confrontation.
Ralph
That's pretty good.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
Got me.
Amy
It got you.
Ralph
You got me good.
Amy
I feel like that absolutely would happen. Those are, like, real life options.
Ralph
You did a chronological Dale's. Dale's experience in battle.
Amy
Yeah.
Narrator/Advertiser
I think both of yours are very accurate.
Amy
Yeah. I kind of wonder what kind of animals I'd find in the forest. Now that you're talking about it, would it be a squirrel?
Ralph
If anything came walking up near the gate, you'd be like, come on, little feller. Come on in.
Amy
Don't get. Don't get shot. Come on in.
Ralph
Yes. Bullets flying everywhere out there. Come on in.
Amy
Yeah. I don't want to go to war. I have not made for outside for more than, like, you know, fun times. Yeah.
Narrator/Advertiser
I was gonna say outside's not. That means by the pool, by the beach.
Amy
Yeah. I mean, I can hang out in the woods and I can camp and I can do outdoorsy things, but I'd prefer to have, you know, picture up there and plumbing.
Narrator/Advertiser
I have something to tell you to
Ralph
my fart in my chair.
Narrator/Advertiser
This was this morning.
Amy
Travis took heed on our advice, and he decided to move your stuff one inch.
Ralph
That's Hilarious. You're unaware.
Amy
I hear there's some moving around going on in Key West. That Hanks is moving.
Narrator/Advertiser
What?
Amy
That Garbo's is taking over the Hanks spot.
Ralph
Oh, and that Bob Pocris texts me and he goes, hey, man, thanks for announcing when the NASCAR banquets are. Because I was on. We're on this show or that show. This show.
Narrator/Advertiser
Dirty air.
Ralph
Dirty air. So I was on Dirty Air, and I was like, it's just rambling. I'd heard that the Xfinity banquet was on Tuesday night after. In Homestead after the race. And so I'm like, you know, we. We got the podcast on Mondays, so now, you know, if we win the championship, we're going to. We're going to go to Homestead, hopefully win the championship. We're going to go down to Key west, we're going to do our show, and then we'd come back up to Homestead to do the thing. And he texts me and he's like, hey, man, good job announcing when NASCAR's banquets are. Because they go. They do them all together now. Cup.
Amy
Oh, they do.
Ralph
And O'Reilly.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
And he's like, they hadn't announced any of it yet.
Amy
You're always doing that.
Ralph
And I was like, whoops, don't tell
Amy
Dale anything unless it's public knowledge already.
Narrator/Advertiser
I assumed it was, like, known because, like, last year was at Phoenix. Like, I just assumed.
Amy
Yeah, I mean, it's really not.
Ralph
I don't think it was a big.
Amy
It's not. Spoiler.
Ralph

Amy
Yeah. So I think they're taking over that whole little house and that whole thing is going to be Garbo's restaurant now. I don't know when that shift is starting, but Tim just went down to Key west and told us that there was some whispering about how that's going
Ralph
to develop is no more. It's going somewhere else.
Amy
It's going to be a larger space closer to the Garden of Eden, closer to the bowl and all that. So I don't know where they. There was a Brazilian restaurant right there on the backside of that. So maybe it's.
Ralph
I wonder if they name it Grunts, rename it.
Amy
That would be cool.
Ralph
Garbo's Grunts.
Amy
If you're listening, go back to Grunts Garbo's.
Ralph
Consider renaming it Grunts.
Narrator/Advertiser
Why Grunts?
Ralph
Grunts was the original name. Grunts is like.
Amy
It was just a bar. There was no food. There's Grunts.
Ralph
Well, the. With the military down there. That's a nod to the military.
Amy
That's what, you know, the newbies.
Ralph
And so it was just a cool name. Grunts, you know, good place to go get a cold beer. Maybe they bring it back.
Narrator/Advertiser
I think it might be hard, though, because now they've been, like, featured on shows and stuff.
Ralph
They were featured on shows as grunts.
Narrator/Advertiser
Oh, I've only seen as Garbo when he was on.
Ralph
When it was on Triple D, it was Grunt.
Amy
Was it that the actual Garbo was
Ralph
just the food truck?
Narrator/Advertiser
Gotcha. Gotcha.
Amy
And it used to park there. It was. It moved around. So eventually it parked. And now it's kind of developed into more, I guess. But yeah, the beers used to be so cold in Grunts. You'd get a frosty mug and the beers were so cold that they'd stick to the bar top. So you had to get an oven mitt. And then it Got so popular, they couldn't keep the things cold, and so they had to.
Ralph
Ice would slide down the outside of the mug. That's the best.
Amy
It was really good.
Narrator/Advertiser
I'm thirsty now.
Amy
Yeah, we're always so thirsty.
Narrator/Advertiser
One week.
Ralph
Hey, I am. Damn. Me and Amy went to the beach this past weekend, and we tore it up. Me and Amy had a good time now. I had my stomach bug, so I was kind of on seven cylinders. But we had some fun.
Amy
I came back going, I can't hang out with you anymore.
Ralph
Now that I'm back to natural, you know, normal. Feeling pretty better. Pretty much better. Pretty better.
Amy
Pretty better. Feeling pretty better. Brain doesn't work fully, but.
Ralph
And we got a weekend sort of at home.
Amy
Dale doesn't know what to do with that anymore.
Ralph
I know what to do with that. I'm gonna make some buffalo chicken wings.
Amy
He's gonna make some plans is what he's gonna do. Yes. He wants.
Ralph
I want to grill some wings.
Amy
To grill out? Yeah.
Ralph
I want to toss them in a bowl, and then I'm gonna throw them back on the grill, and then I'm gonna toss them again.
Narrator/Advertiser
There you go. That's the way to do it.
Ralph
Yes, sir. I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna cook Amy and the girls whatever the hell they want. Probably a little. Couple fillets and maybe a chicken.
Amy
Yes, the girls. He's like, because we don't eat chicken wings. The girls have never tried them.
Ralph
No.
Amy
Isla did when she was little, but she might. She's pretty old.
Ralph
But I'm gonna cook everything. They won't cooked.
Amy
They gave him a list of, like, 10 different meats they wanted him to grill. I'm like, this has gotten out of hand.
Ralph
No, it has. We're just having fun. I'm writing it down on this.
Narrator/Advertiser
But now he's got options.
Ralph
It just. It's just for fun. We're not going to the store to get all this. We're just having fun, guys. Hey, get excited.
Amy
And what he doesn't understand is they take everything pretty literally.
Ralph
Well, they're going to learn not to. All right?
Amy
They're gonna learn not to trust me to learn. They're going to learn that I'm full of it. And I'm just teasing them, you know, we're gonna.
Ralph
We're gonna let. We're gonna make a list, then we're gonna pull out the best and go, all right, this is what we're doing.
Amy
Gotcha.
Ralph
Yeah. But, hey, you. You. You're gonna let me know what you think. I should pick up. We're gonna get this food. We're gonna grill this on Saturday at the house. We're gonna turn on some TVs and some music. The kids are gonna swim, gonna have a good.
Amy
It's gonna be awesome. Yeah, it's nice to enjoy our house. We're usually running off to do it.
Ralph
We'll turn up some cold brews.
Amy
Probably won't get it after last weekend. I feel like I need to like, pump breaks.
Ralph
You may feel differently after a couple of drinks.
Narrator/Advertiser
Dale, you should make it like Amy's house in Texas and do some dancing around the island with the girls.
Amy
He should. We should have another like, wedding ceremony or something or, you know.
Ralph
I don't know about that.
Narrator/Advertiser
Why? The girls would love it to be
Ralph
a memory in the wedding ceremony when
Narrator/Advertiser
they have their own podcast in 20 years. They can talk about.
Ralph
They did one.
Narrator/Advertiser
Just. They're fun dancing around the island with
Amy
their poolside weddings that they threw.
Ralph
Well, maybe we'll do some karaoke or something.
Narrator/Advertiser
Yeah. I'm just saying. Put on some Dorchester, dance with the girls.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
He does know how to two step, by the way. And I have a video of that.
Ralph
I just got lucky. I got lucky for like 30 seconds and did it correctly. I don't know how to do it.
Amy
Yes, you do. You have rhythm and you know how to do it. He refuses to accept. This is like, if I don't accept it, then it never has to happen when I don't want it to happen. I know who you are. I see you. He knows how to dance, man.
Ralph
We're gonna have fun this weekend. Saturday. Woo.
Amy
Woo hoo.
Ralph
It's gonna be old school.
Amy
Rip a dare.
Ralph
Woo. We're gonna have a fun family hangout.
Amy
Yeah. He goes, we're gonna have a. We've an Earnhardt pool party. And I'm like, who did you invite over?
Ralph
No one.
Amy
Now I'm thinking we need to get some catering.
Ralph
No, it's me.
Amy
He's like the four of us and the kids, like, okay, you know, you dodged one.
Ralph
That should be plenty. That's enough.
Amy
It is. I just wanted to make sure I had enough food is all.
Ralph
Yeah. Amy's been dreaming about me a lot.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
More than normal. She dreams a lot about me, but it's really ramped up here lately.
Amy
I've had dreams about him dying.
Ralph
She dreamed a lot about me dying. Well, I figured I'm in there. She would. She would come downstairs when he was
Amy
sick last week or whatever week that was. Yeah.
Ralph
I was staying down on the couch so she didn't get the bug. And she comes down there. She's like, hey. Hey. I had another dream, man.
Amy
You.
Ralph
You.
Amy
Are you okay? I came at him with a thermometer to his forehead.
Ralph
She's checking my temperature. You're not gonna die, are you?
Amy
I was upset, and he's like, get away from me. I'm fine. Now. I'm awake. Thank you.
Ralph
Her. Her.
Amy
Yeah, my therapist.
Ralph
Therapist said that she's dreaming about me dying because she's afraid of losing me. Our love has gotten so strong. She' gotten so comfortable and so dependent on that being the rest, the way it is for the rest of her life. She's finally sort of eclipsed this, crested this sort of milestone.
Amy
She didn't say all that.
Ralph
Yeah. And, you know, she's just in love with me so much that she's afraid of losing me.
Amy
So it's brain spotting. So you're, like, unlocking all these weird memories and traumas. And so we were talking about that dream. I was like.
Ralph
I was thankful. That was a relief.
Amy
And she's like, well, let's try to figure out what the. What the reason and feel like we've
Narrator/Advertiser
done the brain spotting.
Amy
Yes.
Ralph
No, but I mean, I. When her. She says she comes home and she goes, hey, man, gotta tell you what my therapist said about those dreams about you dying. And I'm like, he blew me off.
Narrator/Advertiser
Oh, he blew me off.
Amy
Call him as soon as I get out. He's like, I can't.
Ralph
I'm like. But I'm, like, thinking to myself, I better buckle up, because she might come
Amy
in here because I'm a witch and I have premonitions.
Ralph
Yeah. Like, she's. It's a prediction, man. She thinks it's going to happen.
Amy
You're mental.
Ralph
Oh, man. No, man, you just love me a lot.
Amy
After the discussion, it comes down to,
Ralph
oh, man, what a relief.
Amy
I've gotten to such a good place after all these years of living together and, you know, trying to give each other grace and all that. That, like, I'm actually maybe scared. Scared of losing him.
Ralph
She just loves me.
Amy
Yeah.
Ralph
I'm not gonna die.
Narrator/Advertiser
She's not gonna murder me.
Ralph
Yeah.
Amy
No. I'm not gonna smother you in.
Ralph
Your therapist lady says he's good. He's not gonna die anytime soon.
Amy
