Dale Earnhardt Jr. is back with his wife Amy Earnhardt in the Bless Your ‘Hardt studios after a rough week feeling under the weather. Despite feeling sick, Dale and Amy haven’t missed a beat. They talk about Dale’s music cleanse, celebrities at the racetrack, farting in the oval office, and is it time to get rid of the Elvis room? Plus they play a new game called “Love it, Hate it, Cringey AF”, and as usual #AskAmy closes out the show!

Amy Earnhardt
Bless your heart. Oh, yeah. This is the way it's going to be, girl. We're going to hang out.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, you look amazing.
Amy Earnhardt
I could stare at you all day.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Are you kidding me?
Amy Earnhardt
I couldn't believe it. What's going on? The world is not your trash can.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I slept till 2, smoking cigarettes and drinking Amp Energy.
Amy Earnhardt
Lord have mercy. What'd you listen to in your truck?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, what did I listen to in my truck?
Amy Earnhardt
We drove separately. He drove in his truck. I've been listening to splashing through mud puddles and in front of me. Were you paying attention?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes, I'm trying to clear that water out of the street.
Amy Earnhardt
Where are you gonna put it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Splashing it into the grass.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, as it's raining.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's not raining.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay, what were you listening to? Cause you were in a great mood before we left the house and you're on the chat.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We're not blaming the music.
Amy Earnhardt
What else happened in your car? Nothing. Exactly. Just the music.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Good.
Amy Earnhardt
What was it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Trying to get comfortable in this mess. This is just a. Can I just be honest? I hate this chair. I don't like it.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And I don't want you to.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, bring your little folding chair like you wanted to.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't want to say anything because I don't want anyone else to feel the way I feel. Cuz like. So if I have anxiety or frustration or any. Any emotion. Right. Any emotion. And you share. You walk into a room and you go, man, I'm pissed. This guy just said such and such pissed me off. Now this person you're talking to is now pissed, too.
Amy Earnhardt
Here's the thing. I don't absorb all of your energy. I.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We talked about that. That was something that was, you know, like.
Amy Earnhardt
I know, but I can see you coming home.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
One of us comes home, somebody's having a great day, the other person's frustrated about something that happened while they were out. And that whole. That kind of can get in everybody.
Amy Earnhardt
I know, but you can vent about the chair. I'm not emotionally attached to the chair. It's just a chair.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It is a really good looking chair. Yeah, but I don't. I don't. The way I. I don't. It's not comfortable.
Amy Earnhardt
What are you wanting to change about it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I want to be comfortable.
Amy Earnhardt
I know, but what does that mean exactly? What do you need?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's too deep.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And there's this there. It's too deep. I just. I'm like. I just can't sit up in it.
Amy Earnhardt
All right, we'll find you a new chair.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I can't sit up in it. And so I'm constantly sliding out of it and it's making my pants go up my ass.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And it's uncomfortable.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, my God. I'm so sorry for you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
See, that's why I didn't want to share, because that right there.
Amy Earnhardt
Listen, we can fix it. You got to vent. Let's. You want me to be a smart.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't.
Amy Earnhardt
If I. Okay, you keep going. So I have to be a smart ass to shut you up. Oh, am I not right?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I don't know about that, but.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, I've told you three times, we can get you a new chair and that it's okay.
Producer
Chairs are drinking word, by the way, on today's show.
Amy Earnhardt
Is it Chairs are drinking word. How many times did we say it already?
Producer
25 times already.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Wow.
Amy Earnhardt
Speaking of chairs.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
This is. This is. Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Nicole drew on the chair in the kitchen last night.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
So she's four. She should know better than to draw on anything. I don't think she cares. I think she doesn't give a. She literally took her pen and drew a tic tac toe board and wrote her name on the cushion of the barstool. What am I saying? The cushion in the kitchen. Too many similar sounding words. But Dale brought up. He was like, so easy on her. I'm like, wait a second. She just drew on the furniture. This is not okay. Isla did it, but she was 2. She could barely speak, you know what I mean? And she was scared to death she never did it again. And then Dale politely brings up that his truck got colored in. And I don't remember which kid it was.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Same one.
Amy Earnhardt
It was Nicole. So she's playing in his old truck, and all of a sudden he's working on the door or working on something, and he turns around and she's Sharpieing all over the seats that are upholstered, not like leather where you can wipe it off, but yet he had a pile of Sharpies readily available in the little cigarette. It used to be the cigarette lighter, right. And now it's just a Sharpie holder. So she's done this repeat. She's a repeat offender. And I'm just mad that she's going to keep doing it. So I don't know how to fix that. But she drew all over. I put her in the bathtub. I was so mad, I took her upstairs, threw her in the bathtub. Not that that's punishment, but playtime with the markers was over, and she had colored all over her feet with a totally different color marker. I don't know when she's doing this or where she's getting the pens, but I'm worried she's going to color on something that we can't replace.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
How do we fix this?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I don't want her drawing on other things, but I don't know, man. At the same time, it's hard for.
Amy Earnhardt
You to get mad at her.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's hard for me to get mad at her because I. When I was a kid, people, like, when I was a kid, and people were too hard, you know, for things that just don't really matter. I just see the look on her face when you. When she realizes that she's in trouble. And then I can then see her. I could see the look on her face, and it reminds me of my childhood. And then I think she's not gonna. She's not absorbing the information now. She's.
Amy Earnhardt
She's.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
She's nerd. She's. She's. She's a little nervous. She's a little worried about how much trouble she's in, and she's not taking in the information that you want her to take in. Maybe I'm not right about that.
Amy Earnhardt
But do you think that's just because you guys are similar creatures? Like, your birthdays are two days apart, so I imagine you're always gonna.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, like that. Like, I totally understand what's going on in her mind. Or how she's take thinking in a moment, Nicole's like, you know, wouldn't you agree that, like, Isla's mannered. Hey, Isla, stop doing that. No problem. Hey, Isla, don't ever do that again. No problem. Nicole, stop doing that. Doing it more, doing it harder, doing it worse.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, yeah. Watch me. I know. I don't understand that, so I need you to fix it, because you are similar.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Now that we're kind of removed from a little bit. I did want to tell you what I was listening to in the car.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay. What?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Because I was afraid that you would.
Amy Earnhardt
You would quit being afraid of me. Just talk.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm not afraid of you. I was afraid that you were gonna say, talk negatively about Fleetwood Mac. I've been listening to Fleetwood Mac a lot for the, like, past three days.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, you've had it on the floor.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I feel like I'm. I'm going through a cleanse.
Amy Earnhardt
A cleanse?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
An emotional, spiritual cleanse.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Music cleanse.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, and you're starting there.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's kind of like the. What is. What's something that's good to cleanse your body? What. What do you drink?
Amy Earnhardt
Lemon juice.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No. No. Yeah. Lemon juice, lemon water, or the apple cider vinegar stuff.
Amy Earnhardt
Drink the dark stuff.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. The fruit.
Amy Earnhardt
Prune juice.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Prune juice? Yeah. It's the prune juice of music.
Amy Earnhardt
That's not a good analogy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Maybe not, but I. I've been. I don't know.
Amy Earnhardt
Stevie Nicks is the equivalent of prune juice.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Probably not a good analogy. I got hung up on this lyric in this song. Of course, I knew the story about her and Lindsay Buckingham and how they were at odds and how they were like that throughout the whole time. The band was in the heights of their success and fascinating they were able to keep creating and make such great stuff while they were just busting around and not, you know, working out and not working out and making up, fighting and all that stuff, right? And the dynamic of the relationships in the band are crazy. And my mom loved Fleetwood Mac, Right. And so anytime I need to, like, get back to ground zero or so.
Amy Earnhardt
It'S grounding for you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Balancing. Yeah, it's like a take, bring me back to neutral kind of thing. So I've been listening to it a lot. And so I love, like. I like getting out on these tangents, right? With. With different. You know, with the. With. With punk music and stuff like that. But, man, it. And you kind of get. You kind of forget how good late 70s, early 80s styles like Fleetwood Max, similar music like that. You forget how good that stuff was.
Amy Earnhardt
I leave my radio station tuned to 80s on 8 and it never disappoints.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, but you listen to some modern stuff.
Amy Earnhardt
I do, but if I'm not playing it in the car myself, I kind of get tired of the modern stations because it just plays the same 10 songs, you know what I mean? And I get bored. But that I'm never really totally sure. Usually got the kids in the car, what they're going to say. And so I just prefer.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm trying to get Nicole. I mean, Isla.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm sorry, Nicole likes all the old music.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm trying to get Isla to, like, perk up and be like, flat play with Mac. That's good, you know, I mean, because I want them to.
Amy Earnhardt
She likes ballads. She likes things that she can sing to.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You ever met people that you're like, man, you turned out great. You know, you're thinking that in your mind, you're like, your parents did a good job raising you. And they'll be like. And they'll be one of those people, they'll be like, yeah, mom and dad, they played all the oldies all day. Music in my house all the time. And you're like, man, you know, you got a real great appreciation for music from your parents.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, not just that. When your parents are doing things like that in the house, there's joy in your house. Like, everyone's happy, everyone's relaxed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, but. But a pair. But a set of parents that, like, constantly played their vinyl collection. Yeah, right. Sets us. Sets a tone in that kid's, you know, mind in their ear. They have appreciation for, like, that music that they heard when they grew up. Same reason I'm an Elvis fan. Right. I grew up in. My mama loved Elvis. I would have probably not cared one bit about Elvis.
Amy Earnhardt
But you wouldn't care as much.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I wouldn't have. Not at all. And because of her, you know, it's like 10. It's like 10, 10. It's like all Elvis all day in that one specific room in our house. Right. Which is real. Which is even silly at this point. But is it as silly as a.
Amy Earnhardt
Guest bedroom that's Elvis themed?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's what I'm saying. Oh, Elvis all day, every day in that one room.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, yeah, we didn't play anymore.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No, I'm just saying, like the stuff on the walls, the pictures, it's Elvis every. So you walk in a room, there's nothing.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, it used to actually play Elvis music. When you turn the lights on, we turn that Off.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. So you would. Yeah. You go in that Elvis room in the guest bedroom, turn on the light theme and it would start playing Elvis. The speakers. Yeah, it's really cool, but I'm wondering if it's part of it. I'm wondering if it's almost time to.
Amy Earnhardt
Like, I'm in the middle of redoing the bathroom. If it's time to revamp. Like, don't, don't let me keep going.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
At this point, do we really need the. Are you ready to. Are you good to move on from the Elvis guest bedroom?
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, it's the only guest bedroom in the house, but it's a lot to undo.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It is. Yeah. They got that headboard. Yeah, the headboard too.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. The headboard is where the whole room was started around.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. I mean, you can't leave the headboard if you do. If you change it, right?
Amy Earnhardt
No, and like the built ins and the way that the cabinetry and everything in there is styled. It doesn't make any sense to.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm ripping the whole room apart. If you, if you give me the green light to redo.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Maybe we just get a little subtle.
Amy Earnhardt
What do you mean?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Just not so much stuff on the shelves.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, I mean, I don't like the red wall either. I'm not a red person.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I know, but I'm just saying, like we could take some of the trinkets out or some of the, some.
Amy Earnhardt
Of the Elvis like the series of thing. You're either all in and make it as gaudy as you can or we get rid of it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
I feel like that. Yeah. All right, I'm not ready. But I like this. I like this idea. At some point we're going to redo the room. But. No, not right now, please. No.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The only thing really that bothered. I would let. I would. I would be fine and let you do whatever you wanted. But it's the headboard. Golly Headboard school.
Amy Earnhardt
Who made the headboard?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Y'all had it made. I thought.
Amy Earnhardt
No, honey, that you had that in your old house.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really? So the headboard, I thought it was.
Amy Earnhardt
Made by somebody who actually had something to do with his team.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No, if. I don't know, but if you, if you remember Elvis's capes with the rhinestones talking to the listener. If you, if you remember, imagine Elvis in his best suit. And this is skinny elves. Right. In his best. He's peak Elvis.
Amy Earnhardt
I thought it was Vegas Elvis, like.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, he was pretty decent shape in Vegas. Yeah, but I mean imagine him in his suit. With his cape anywhere, Hawaii, Vegas, wherever he was, you know, when he was doing those kind of shows back in the day where he's changing, wearing those gaudy outfits and this white. The white cape with the rhinestones. That's the headboard. The headboard is white and it's got the bird.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
In rhinestone. And it is insane. And so yeah, if you took, if you went away from Elvis themed bedroom, you'd have to take the headboard out. Boy, that'd be a tragedy. So, yeah, I was. I've been listening to Fleetwood Mac going on a music cleanse.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, I'm a giant fan as well. So I am happy that you're beginning your. Your journey to cleansed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And when I go back to others, the other stuff that I listen to, it'll be better.
Amy Earnhardt
For who?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
For me. I'll like it more because I've got regrounded reset master reset button back to zero.
Amy Earnhardt
Do you feel like it's because you're missing your mom? Is that why you feel like.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I do listen to it. I do love to connect mom and Stevie Nicks. And there's something about her, her voice and her whole demeanor and sound that puts me in the backseat of my mom's car.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Riding around Kannapolis.
Amy Earnhardt
I like that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. I mean when I was even. But, but, but when I was six years old, you know, I would tell daddy that that was my girlfriend.
Amy Earnhardt
I know you told me that you had a crush. Major crush on you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
When I was. It was gone by time. I was 12, 13, 14 years old. It was. I wasn't. I didn't have a crush on her anymore.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, the video you play with her on the stage and the white, like very, very looking. It's gorgeous. Like I want the dress. Oh, and that style is very in now. It's a shame, you know, that she.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's. So mom had long hair back when we were with her in the early 80s and I begged her to never. She cut it, she went, moved to Norfolk. Next time I see her, she's got short hair and I was freaking heartbroken. And she grew it back long one time for me.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, she's had it long. She had it on later life. She always grow.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. I was so heartbroken. I was like, mom, can't believe you did that. Hey, this is Dale Jr. And for the latest bless your heart gear, go to shop.dirtymomedia.com We've got plenty of options for everybody and adding new stuff every day. Go to shop.dirtymomedia.com Kubota Orange Days delivers.

See the details@kubotaorangedays.com we do have a mouse or two. Two mouse. Two mice in the garage.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, I noticed that I was hoarding some things that I pulled out of the closet to donate a mouse made a little bed and one of the bags of clothes.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So I have these little. We're out in our garage that's attached to the house. So you come in the door and you're in the hall around the laundry room. So this is the garage attached to the house. And so it's a four stall garage. It's got a couple of closets in it. And in those closets I keep those little mouse poison traps. So they, there's these little packets of pink stuff and they crawl into this little, little maze of a car, of a plastic box to get to that and eat it. And then that will kill them. It's poison. So I realized that there has been a mouse in not one, but both of those, the closets of both of the closets and has eaten the poison in both those little plastic containers. And so I go over, I'm cleaning that up and I go some like, oh, you know, he's got to, he got to poison he or both of them got to however many. And they're, they're, they're gone to wherever they're going to go and to die. And so I walk over to the wall and we've got a baseboard just like in the house that runs the entire length of the floor. And a mouse had eaten. He got on top of that baseboard and ate through the drywall into the, into the interior wall of the garage. So he ate. So the baseboard is sealed to the drywall and he ate the seal, the caulk, the caulking, and then between the baseboard and the drywall until he could get into the wall.
Amy Earnhardt
Which wall is it in?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
A closet on that far wall underneath the circuit breaker box.
Amy Earnhardt
Technically an exterior wall. Okay, perfect. At least it's not in the house.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No, no, no.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, not that it matters. If he's in the wall, he's in the house.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. So these Are two mice that have eate poison, and they are absolutely, no question, dead somewhere. Right. Then I noticed that there's more work been done on the wall. A third mouse has came in, and he has come in and went into the plastic box, ate some poison, and he, too, has worked on the wall. And so I was like, all right, I got it. I got some of that spray. Expanding foam.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And I stuck down into that hole they created in the wall, and I sprayed that in that wall full of expanding foam. Full. It's all in there. If he's going to come out of this wall, he's going to have to tunnel his ass off through that foam.
Amy Earnhardt
Or just chew a hole somewhere else in the drywall.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, if he does, he's going to pop out random. In some random spot, whatever.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Bring it. And so I had to. Once the spray foam expands out of this hole.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I got to trim it away and make the wall look like it looked again. Like originally. Right. So I kind of cut all this spray foam that's expanding out of that hole.
Amy Earnhardt
I feel like there's a reason you haven't shown me this physically.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's right there for you to look at. I'm not hiding it from you.
Amy Earnhardt
I like the bucket downstairs that you have where they just fall in.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I love that, too. I say about getting one for the garage.
Amy Earnhardt
That would be better.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Because then we wouldn't have to tear holes in the house and spray foam. Like, we could just.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There's this little bucket, and it has a lid and a flapper. And the ladder. They walk up this ladder, and they walk. And in this little space on. It's kind of like walking the plank. They walk this plank toward this peanut butter, and they get close, and into the bucket they go.
Amy Earnhardt
Yep.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And I feel the bucket. About six inches of water.
Amy Earnhardt
D. What? I thought you let them go.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I was. Well, I wouldn't.
Amy Earnhardt
You used to do that. I used to let them go downstairs.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I used to let him go, but then one or two didn't survive the bucket. I didn't get to the bucket soon enough.
Amy Earnhardt
I know, but what's the water for?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Kills them.
Amy Earnhardt
Kill them faster.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. And they don't stink.
Amy Earnhardt
How does it not stink? It's. Now it's got water to rot in.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, if they die in the bucket, they. They. They stink up the whole house, and they. They ruin the bottom of the bucket, and then they stink up the whole room with their death. And if they drown in the water, the water keeps them from decaying. And rotting. And. And like, if two weeks go by and we're out of town or something, this guy is just going to be floating in there. And it doesn't create a noise. It doesn't create a smell. It is disgusting. You asked the question.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, I didn't know that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. Just let me handle it. What I should have said, don't show.
Amy Earnhardt
Isla any of that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Why?
Amy Earnhardt
Because I don't want her being desensitized like you desensitized to life.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, my God. Well, they're eating this poison. Running off and. Yeah, suffering.
Amy Earnhardt
That probably happens way fast.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's probably slow and painful. Eats them from the inside out.
Amy Earnhardt
No, those tapey things that y'all used to use. That's torturous. Used to bite their own legs off to get off that thing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Awful. That's how we got to the bucket to begin with. Because that's what you guys were using.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I thought the bucket was. Because they fall into it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, it was an Instagram ad.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And walk a plank and go right in there. You can watch YouTube videos. And I'm like, yep, that's what I want. I got this. I got this other.
Amy Earnhardt
Like a game.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I've got this other thing down at the beach house.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, but those. Those are mice.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They're rats.
Amy Earnhardt
They are.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But it. I bought this thing I could not believe. Has a CO2 cartridge.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And they walk up in there and trigger this thing and it sends. It sends a piston right through their skull. It's like, boom. Knocks them, kills them, like flattens their head.
Amy Earnhardt
That's disgusting, too.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's pretty bad. But it's like those things are just as June Bug.
Amy Earnhardt
They're not small.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. You're not coming back from that.
Amy Earnhardt
You really enjoy this. Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That thing.
Amy Earnhardt
You enjoy that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Eighty bucks. Hundred dollars. But it's got. It's a little. You know, the little cot cylinders that CO2 cylinders that you would use for like a BB gun. Or you screw that in there and it. It'll. It probably has about 30 strikes worth of compressed air. And they go up in there and they trigger this little thing and they're up in there trying to eat, and they trigger this thing and it sends that piston right through them. And then I got the big stick. Sticky pads. I don't like sticky pads either. I'm not going to use a sticky pad. But I have one. But I like sticky pad with one.
Amy Earnhardt
Of those giant things.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I've got this little.
Amy Earnhardt
He's just going to run off with it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I know he did I put a. I stuck. I put a sticky pad downstairs one time. So at the beach house, we have rats. They come out of the marsh.
Amy Earnhardt
The house is elevated. A whole floor.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
These are all.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, they're giant. They're.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So I put a sticky trap down there, and he. The damn thing disappeared. Wherever he went, it went with him. I'm like, well, that was a waste of time. Yeah. And so. But I got this box, and it's like a. It's a little smaller than a shoebox. The floor plant. The floor pan is metal. It takes two or three C batteries. You flip a switch, and it goes. And then little green light flashes. And they walk in there because you put a little. There's this little thing in the.
Amy Earnhardt
He puts Reese's peanut Butter.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There's this little thing in the end that you can put whatever you want. And I put Reese's cup. And so he's like, oh, hell, yeah, Reese's Cup. And as soon as he gets all.
Amy Earnhardt
His legs, that's exactly what's happening.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Hell, yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Dale Jr. Left me a Reese cup.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
As soon as he gets up in there, it just zaps him. And, I mean, I don't know how, like, three C batteries produce enough electricity to kill a rat, but it puts their ass fast asleep. And then I got these big tweezers. You know how, like, if you're gonna pick up some dog poop out of the park, and I grab that damn rat and I take him over to the corner and throw him in the trash. And I'm like, you know, I hope the other rats see this. I'm walking their buddy out to the corner of the street. I'm like, I hope you other ass are watching. Don't be coming around my house unless you want to sleep forever.
Amy Earnhardt
You're something else.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Hell, yeah. I love a good challenge.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, I think you nailed it. Or you dailed it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, gosh.
Amy Earnhardt
Nailed it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We're going to get calls from Peter.
Amy Earnhardt
Peter.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Peter. The animal people.
Amy Earnhardt
Peter ain't calling the feeder mite.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Did you know? Did you.
Amy Earnhardt
Peter's calling to give you a totally.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Totally unrelated, not really, totally related. When I was. When I was driving KFC car, you told me I got a letter from Pamela Anderson and PETA.
Amy Earnhardt
You're like, I got a letter from Pamela Anderson, but I think she was.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dating Kid Rock at the time. Yeah, but, yeah, she wrote me a letter telling me how I shouldn't have Kentucky Fried Chicken as a sponsor.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Was that before or after you met her in the bus?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Right, before. Yeah. I Didn't. She probably didn't write the damn letter. Who knows? I don't know. It was funny, man. The things that would happen back in the day.
Amy Earnhardt
Yes. So speaking of girls and racing, can we talk about the Willie B. Sabrina Carpenter thing?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes.
Amy Earnhardt
What actually happened there?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Nothing.
Amy Earnhardt
What do you mean nothing? There was a thing on social media.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So apparently there was a screenshot of Willie William Byron respond saying hello to one of her Instagram posts. I asked him and he said it wasn't him. And maybe so I'm thinking it was photoshopped or something. Why someone would. That's random, right? It blew up. So if you went into her. Her insta post you could see all these fans going, oh, look, it's William Byron.
Amy Earnhardt
And they were like, yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
People were just posting nothing but gifs of his car doing donuts and stuff.
Amy Earnhardt
And all that stuff or like all the Rand non factual things that they did that he did for them.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Thanks, Willie.
Amy Earnhardt
He got my cat out of my tree.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He's such a great guy.
Amy Earnhardt
He picked me up off the side of the road.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. Thanks for having me.
Amy Earnhardt
I've been there for a while.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Thanks for giving me your kidney kit.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Very, very crazy comments.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It was awesome.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
It kind of reminded me of when you and I first started dating because like at the 500 especially there's lots of celebrities and you and I had just started to date. So I think it's the 500 and Jessica Simpson's coming to perform and she did a media interview where she talked about how she had had a dream.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Where you and her got married in a treehouse.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So weird.
Amy Earnhardt
And I was like, I had to ask you because I was a fan before I heard that. And my girlfriend and I were in the bus and I was like, can you bring her by the bus? I want to meet her. And you were like, no, I don't think I'm going to mess with that. And then I read the. Or I saw or something. The interview she did and I was like, screw her. I was so mad at that. Yes. I was like that. She coming around my man, trying to plant a seed that she's going to marry Dale Jr. Oh, so stupid.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You think that's what that was?
Amy Earnhardt
I think that's what that was. She was just teeing something up.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
She was fishing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Wow. When she married.
Amy Earnhardt
Not then.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh.
Amy Earnhardt
I think Nick Lachey had just had moved on. Yep.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't think I ever met her. I did meet Britney Spears.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
And her dad.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. That was. I mean Considering everything. Try to think about people listening. I guess try to think about this before like everything got weird with that whole family. But. Or, or before they got odds, at odds with each other. So this was probably 2004ish, little around.
Amy Earnhardt
That sometime she was in her heyday.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. She is peak fame and somehow or another her dad had a, had someone that was friends, he had a car.
Amy Earnhardt
A relationship with Josh Schneider in the new Wolf situation.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And he was a big race NASCAR fan. And so Josh says, hey, Brittany's dad wants to meet you. She's going to bring him by. And so she came to Texas and, and they just come by the bus for 20 minutes. I just was like, hello, how you doing? Totally normal. Normal, normal?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. You said you super down to earth, regular normal.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Dressed in regular, normal clothes like me and you would just put on and go outside to go to the, go to the store.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And he was regular. I mean it was, it was kind of nice because.
Amy Earnhardt
Refreshing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. You just see the, you see the show biz and this in the performance. Right. All the time and you're thinking that this, you know, those people are just so far out of touch. Touch or out of reach. Right. But you know, of course many things have changed since then, but there's.
Amy Earnhardt
Who else have you met?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Man, it's hard to remember everybody.
Amy Earnhardt
Guys, I know you met a lot of people.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I mean when you, when you go to these races, especially back in the peak NASCAR days, 2004 to 2012. Ish, they were pulling quite a few celebrities to all the races, not just Daytona, of course. Daytona had a lot of people. But I mean anytime a celebrity came, you would get a, your PR person would come up and go, do you want to meet them? They will come by the bus. They will, you know, NASCAR will bring them over if you wanted to say hey.
Amy Earnhardt
And do you think that happened for every driver?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't know. But I mean I, I didn't, I didn't entertain every one of them.
Amy Earnhardt
Sure. Well, there's a lot going on too, on race day.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. I'm in a bad mood.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And so basically what I was getting. Yeah. And I was, I'd be like, yeah, I'll see him at the intro stage.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, good enough. Yeah, we're in the driver's meeting.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Right. If I was a really big fan, I'd be like, hell yes, let's meet. Because I want to, you know, I want a personal 10 minute conversation. But if it was like, I like that they're a celebrity, absolutely famous. It's cool. They're here, but I'll just. My. I'll just check that box at the intro stage. How you doing? Thanks for coming. Yeah, like everybody else will when they walk across the stage. But, man, I. I don't know. Look at me. I got my. I was walking around the house with my pants rolled up.
Amy Earnhardt
At least you put your real shoes on and not your house shoes.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They're still rolled up. I'm trying to think.
Amy Earnhardt
There's gotta be one. That was like, can't believe this person. Have you met a president at the racetrack? I know you've been to the White House and met presidents.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes. So George W. Came to Daytona in 04. Several of us met him. Hello. Briefly had a conversation with him on pit road before the race. I went on and won the race, the Daytona 500. He left. But I'm in the media center, and they. And I'm just sitting there in a media center. And this. This was when the media. I think the media center was on the other side of the racetrack. I was up in a suite in the grandstands. Before they rebuilt Daytona's grandstands, it was different. But I'm standing there and. And they handed me a phone. They said, hey, got a phone call. I'm in the middle of my media answering a question or something. Everybody's. We're all talking. Me in the media. And it was George W. Bush. He's like, hey, it's George W. President, United States, man. Good job today. Appreciate you. You're representing, you know, being a great citizen. You're being an awesome American.
Amy Earnhardt
What did you say?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I was like, thanks a lot, man. I appreciate it.
Amy Earnhardt
You called it, man.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. It's like, dream come true. He's like, I, man, well, keep. Keep doing a great job. I said, I. Take it easy, man. And everybody in the room was like, you told him to take it easy? And he. And George chuckled.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He was like, take it easy.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, sure.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But, I mean, that's how I talk.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So if you ever met George W.
Amy Earnhardt
Bush, and he's pretty down to earth.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We've seen him in the. During the inauguration, I think, or whatever it was this year.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Just. He's clowning.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He's clowning. He's having a good. That's him. And so when you're around him, and I've met him at the airport. He. He. We were at the bottom of the stairs when he come down Air Force One one time, and he. Just as soon as you start talking to him, you can't help but feel like he's just a. He just one of the guys.
Amy Earnhardt
An uncle you've known forever. Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And so I got to meet him.
Amy Earnhardt
With you at Johnny Morris's opening.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's right.
Amy Earnhardt
St. Louis.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. You. So. You know.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. And he's just hanging. You wouldn't even know he's in the room.
Amy Earnhardt
I actually got to meet him when I was in high school.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
When he was the governor.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. But that was.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You know, I'll tell you this years ago. I've told this story, and I don't know if it'll make sense, but we were at. We were. I went to. I went with a friend to sit courtside at a UNC Charlotte 49ers basketball game. Totally random, no big deal. Just sitting there watching them play. I think they were playing Cincinnati. And this was a long time ago, probably 2000, 2001. So dad had just passed away. So I'm sitting there at this game, and I'm talking to one of the. One of the key individuals with the school. He sit next to me, and I. I don't know why I'm. I don't have an agenda. I don't know why I'm there or I'm not. There's. I'm not doing. I'm not doing anything for the school or I'm not working or anything. They just invited me, and I'm sitting there, and. And we. Me and this guy got to talking about scholarships, and I said, man, I would love to sponsor or be a part of creating a scholarship for this. For an engineer position that might, you know, send somebody into motorsports. And we had a. It was a brief mention, and he's like, man, that's a great idea. We should do that. And it went no further. And then a month later, they asked Teresa, me, and Kelly to be at the bottom of the stairs when he. When George W. Bush got off Air Force One. And. And Charlotte, I guess I'm trying to think of the timeline. Would he be in president then? But he comes down the stairs. Whenever this happened, whatever year was. He comes down the stairs, and he's, like, shaking Teresa's hand, talk to her for a minute. Kelly gets to me, and he goes, hey, man, I heard what you might be doing for the. For the school and UNC Charlotte about that scholarship. That's a pretty cool idea. I was like, how does he know? That's, like, one little conversation. How did it get to him? How did that. Where did that come. Like, where did that conversation go? That night.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Like all around all these. Until the present.
Amy Earnhardt
It went quickly.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Right.
Amy Earnhardt
Kind of like those mice in the world.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They know. I was like, from that moment on, I was like, they know everything.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, they know everything.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They know everything. I got to meet Barack. We went to. We went to the.
Amy Earnhardt
I was with you when you went to the White House.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We went to the White House. The playoff drivers or something. Something nascar.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And that was when seeing the White House.
Amy Earnhardt
It's just incredible.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Should. That was. That was the. That's when I too did. In the.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, gosh. So why did we even get to this topic the other day? Were we watching something about Trump being in the Oval Office? Because he's done a lot of addresses.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Sure.
Amy Earnhardt
Is that what we were watching?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I can't remember.
Amy Earnhardt
So we're watching whatever we're watching on tv. And Dale goes, you know, I actually farted in the Oval Office once. I'm like, of course you did. When did you do that? When he was there meeting Barack Obama. And he's like, I just couldn't hold it. I was like, you probably could have. You just took the golden knot.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There was no one.
Amy Earnhardt
They weren't just to do that. Didn't you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Barack wasn't in there. There was.
Amy Earnhardt
He wasn't by himself.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They let us. They were letting us walk around in the room. And I walked around behind the desk and was just standing there and I was like. And then I. I was like, oh, I gotta. I gotta. I got a little fart here.
Amy Earnhardt
I just feel so relaxed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I was like, you know what? I'm just gonna leave it right here. What a hell.
Producer
Did it change the vibe of the room or was it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, what. One of those. I don't think it. Anybody noticed.
Amy Earnhardt
I feel like Mike Davis was in the room. He had to have been. I don't know that I was there with you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. It did not, like stink up the room. I mean, I didn't create. Create a scene or anything.
Amy Earnhardt
Maybe it did, maybe it didn't. Who's going to know?
Producer
Mike was doing it too. So, I mean, probably.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I mean, if somebody smelled it, fine, whatever.
Amy Earnhardt
But you're special.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I mean, you know, sometimes you're in these spaces that are just, you know, famous spaces.
Amy Earnhardt
And listen, if I had the opportunity to be in a famous space, farting is not my.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, if you had to fart, cane to you.
Producer
It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It ain't like I was sitting there going, damn, I want to fart in here. It just like fart came like, what a gift.
Amy Earnhardt
My body wants to fart. Need you fart right now when I'm in the Oval Office. Hell, yes.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Where was I supposed to go?
Amy Earnhardt
Clench your butt. Hold it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Clench my butt and hold it. No, sir.
Amy Earnhardt
Yes. Yes, sir.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No. The immediate reaction is, how do we get this out? No, not how do we hold it? Not how do we keep it in there, please.
Amy Earnhardt
Hello. Where's the restroom? I need to get out of here. Not looks like a good place for me to fart. I'm just gonna let it rip.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The chance of me getting to the restroom before it comes out, it's pretty low.
Amy Earnhardt
Are you worried you're just gonna have the walking farts as you're walking out?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Right.
Amy Earnhardt
Does that happen for you?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And it's obvious you're clinching and you're walking. Yeah, the walk clinch is a very. Is a dead giveaway.
Amy Earnhardt
I've never seen you do that, but that would be pretty funny to see.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, we. Oh, I was. So we had this. Y'all had this joke that we. We've. We had. We. We laughed a little bit over the. This used to be farmland.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So during. During homeschool Sunday, we got home Sunday, and Isla had homeschool.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. We've postponed her Friday work. Right.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So we had to. Yep. You had to do that. And you. And so I need to take Nicole.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. It helps me when Nicole's not there.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So I had to grab Nicole and we get my pickup truck, and we drove around. I said, let's take a look at the property, see if everything's okay. No trees laying on any fences and power lines every. You know, of course, there was no. No problem, but we're just. We're just busying ourselves. We drove over to Sunny's house, and I said, sonny, I want to do something one day. I was like. So I look at some old historical aerial maps of the highway we live on, and it's straight past our house, but back in the 50s, it snaked really big out into these people's yards and through the woods and the road. The road. And I'm like, I really bet. I really. And you'll look around, and you don't see, like, any evidence of the original road bed. But I'm like, I bet there's some of it in those woods over there. And so I called Sonny, and I went over there, and I just see him, what he's doing. And I was sitting there thinking. I was like, sonny, you know where the old highway used to go off in the woods and come back. I was like, now it's straight, but the old original road used to go into the woods. I was like, I really want to walk through them woods and see if we can find it. And he's like, I don't know. That old man lives over there. Used to have a. Used to have a garden, might be tilled over. I was like, get in the truck. So we drove out to the highway and parked on the side of the road and stared into the woods. And I'm like, man, I bet it's off in there. You see that little ridge right there? Could be right there where that ridge is. And we're sitting there and I'm like, you've gone nuts. I'm old.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. You're getting senile.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It sounds like, oh, this is like entertainment.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. What's Nicole doing? Is she entertaining?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm sitting there. I'm like, all right. When the weather gets a little warmer, man, we're gonna walk out in woods. If we can find that old road bed.
Amy Earnhardt
You'd be better not doing it in the winter time when there's nothing growing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's cold, it's uncomfortable. I bet we can take a metal detector out there once we learn how to use one and find some old stuff that's been cast off the side of the road. Right.
Amy Earnhardt
Cans you're just gonna find.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I don't know, like, it's in the 40s and 50s or earlier. The historical aerials only go Back to like 1953, but who knows what was getting hauled up and down that road on wagons, horse drawn carriages and stuff back then. I mean, our road was just dirt.
Amy Earnhardt
We're now going to horse drawn carriage.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm just saying.
Amy Earnhardt
The wild west out where we live, the Roman Empire thing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Out where we lived was really, really country.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Back then.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, I don't think they had carriages in the 40s, 50s.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No. Okay. Horse drawn wagon, whatever you think I'm. Well, they probably didn't all have cars in the 50s. Well, I'm saying before that, like only the, the, the, the, the map only goes to the 50s. What was going on in the 20s, 30s.
Amy Earnhardt
And you really think that it's possible you're gonna find something out there that's.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, there's all kinds of stuff on the ground.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I found stuff in our own yard, like the rings for old wooden pail buckets. And you remember. So me and Sean, I got a metal detector and was walking around in the yard and I found like old rusted bands that would Go around wood, wooden buckets and stuff like that and all kinds of things.
Amy Earnhardt
Barrel bands.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And then we were on this. We found this one thing, the girl. You know, I'm walking. Remember where the. Remember where the. The little kid playhouse used to be?
Amy Earnhardt
I don't know.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, it used to be up in the yard.
Amy Earnhardt
Is it close to where those plants are? Like that flower bed is now where.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The light pole is?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Over there. So it used to be there and we moved it. Now it's the church down in the western town. But there's this. Used to be this little kid playhouse. Me and Shaw, it was moved. And me and Sean were over there. And that damn metal detector is going haywire. Sean's reaching down in the ground. And it was the power that ran to that kid's playhouse. And he grabbed that damn line and it was hot and he knocked him on his ass. I laughed so hard.
Amy Earnhardt
That was before I came around. That was way before me.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There was a live power line laying in a hot line laying in the ground, just laying on top of the ground for anybody to touch. And it lit him up. We stopped metal detecting that day.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. I feel like you really shouldn't go back.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yep. Let's talk about your upcoming trip.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay. I'm super excited. We leave tomorrow, me and three girlfriends. And packing for a girls trip is fun, but also challenging. I've got this sensational mess in the closet. Not that I ever don't.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You've been going through all kinds of stuff, getting all your stuff ready.
Amy Earnhardt
Yep. But I've got quite the mess in piles everywhere. But I'm excited. We're so. I mean, I don't really know what to expect.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I know.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm excited for the surprise. I feel like the surprise is going to happen once I get there.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You talked about not knowing what to wear.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. So trips in Miami and I haven't been to Miami quite a bit, but I also have like, sundresses and things that I don't feel like really fit the vibe. So I'm a little nervous about what I've packed or what I have to pack. But if I can find something there if I really need it. But. Yeah, I'm just not sure I have something in my mouth. Yeah, I mean, just say something.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I did.
Amy Earnhardt
No, you're sitting there just scratching your own mouth.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Other side. You can get your phone.
Amy Earnhardt
Why don't you just get it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Okay.
Amy Earnhardt
I don't see anything. You don't want me freckle.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It's gone now. No, it Was hanging a little piece of skin or something. She's picking boogers out of my nose. Out of my nose yesterday.
Amy Earnhardt
Let it dangle. Help me out.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I was doing it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. I don't know if I've got the stuff packed I need. But we're gonna figure it out when we get there. I'm not gonna worry about it. What are you gonna do with the kids while I'm gone? Because their spring break starts. What's your plan?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I don't know. I mean I would probably take them to the park. I'll probably take them for ice cream. We'll probably go have some meals, Go out a little bit to some places and have some. Have some food.
Amy Earnhardt
Have you scheduled any play dates with TJ or something with kids?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No, no. I was thinking about like what crafts might be fun. They like to make things. I remember when we got those. I got those. I got those white cars from Lionel and Let and we painted them.
Amy Earnhardt
Do you have any more of the blanks?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I thought about seeing if I could get some more blanks to do more cars. That was kind of fun.
Amy Earnhardt
You know what you should do with those? This is off topic but you should let them decorate or design one and then try to turn it into a real paint scheme.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
That you run somewhere.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I'm not. I mean, I guess on my late model I could do. Get some blanks for the late models and do it because I'm not running anything but late models from here on out.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, it's transferable. Right. Like it doesn't have to be so exact. I'm very the blank of a car.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm very literal. What do you suppose I should do? What do you think they would enjoy?
Amy Earnhardt
They like activities. They like going out. They also like playing with the kids. So if you castell and them are around you can. That's easy. I like activities that are easy. I don't want it to be complicated. So that's usually what I do. I try to like meet up with friends where it's fun for everybody.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm excited to spend time with them and get their, you know, be there, be their. Be their provider and get their soul attention and prove to them because you're earning like this, you know, you're earning.
Amy Earnhardt
Earning stripes.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Stripes, yeah. So you, you earn the stripes most of the days. And so it'll be fun for me to earn it a little bit and prove to them that I'm capable.
Amy Earnhardt
Are you going to be able to give them boundaries and rules? Are you just gonna let them do whatever they want?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm very, very much hold them accountable.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You know, I mean, do I not. You say sometimes I'm too hard.
Amy Earnhardt
Sometimes you're too hard on Isla because.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, she's an older one that should be doing more.
Amy Earnhardt
I know she's not as old as she acts. She's always had that tricks.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Me.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I give. She gets going so good. I'm. I get to building up my expectations.
Amy Earnhardt
Can't make any mistakes.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
No, she gets to do it. She does so good. And you're like. Yeah, kicking butt.
Advertiser
Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
What was that? Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. No, I think that you're. We'll just see how it plays out. I'm excited that you get to have the time.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I don't want you to worry at all.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm going to. It's just impossible. I was. I felt worried and guilty as soon as you told me that I had a trip. It's just impossible. Not to worry.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I hope you can still enjoy your trip.
Amy Earnhardt
I absolutely will. It's gonna be super fun.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Get. Get you a glass of wine and just have.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm gonna have a few of those.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I think, knock the edge off.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. All right, let's play a game.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
All right.
Amy Earnhardt
There's a game we have called Love It, Hate it or Cringy af.
Producer
Yeah, that's my working title.
Amy Earnhardt
Are you gonna. Are you gonna ask this. The questions?
Producer
Yeah, I can ask the questions. Basically, I just describe scenarios. Most of these are relationship type scenarios, but some household or everyday life ones. And you guys say if you love them, hate them, or think they're just cringy. Okay, so pretty simple. The first one is couples who sit on the same side of the booth at a restaurant.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I like it.
Amy Earnhardt
I love it. Yeah.
Producer
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
We usually do that.
Producer
Really? Is it more like the table? Like, if you said table, it's more caddy cornered. Is it like that? Or you guys sit in the same.
Amy Earnhardt
No, if it's a booth, we sitting on the same side.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Really?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We're lovers.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay. Yeah. If it's a table, we just sit.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We love to be together.
Amy Earnhardt
We sit corner to corner.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
We went to a charity dinner the other night, and it's a small table, and six of us were sitting there, and instead of sitting in the chair, he sits in the booth next to me and held my hand like we're. If we're having a date night, I.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Know it might look like sometimes on here that we always bicker a little bit or we're done. But we enjoy kind of challenging each other.
Amy Earnhardt
If we had a couch, he would be sitting halfway on top of me. That's how he sits when we. Yeah, that's why he's complaining about the chair.
Producer
He's too far away.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't know. It's just. I need to stand up, pull my pants out of my ass.
Amy Earnhardt
We'll do that. Just do that. Will that make you feel better?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes.
Amy Earnhardt
Shimmy, shimmy. Shake, shake.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
All right.
Amy Earnhardt
Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Good for about 10 minutes. Good for about 10 minutes.
Producer
The next one. Couples who hold hands in public. You guys just said you basically do this on a date night, so you guys must love this.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, I like it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, we hold hands.
Producer
Yeah. Okay.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We hold hands. Probably. I would. I would say above average.
Amy Earnhardt
I like. I like it when he holds my hand. Not just because it's nice, because we're connected, but honestly, I can keep up with him a little bit better. It keeps our pace together because he walks mega fast.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh.
Amy Earnhardt
And it kind of slows you down, I guess, a little bit.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Pull him back. Okay, I get that. How about gender reveal parties?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Do they. Are they cringy?
Producer
Some people either. Cringy? Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really?
Producer
Yeah, they're very popular for the last, like, couple years, five, six years, and they are. Now they're starting cringy.
Amy Earnhardt
We didn't do that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I think gender reveals are awesome.
Amy Earnhardt
I think gender reveals are awesome. Having kids is awesome. And those moments that were like. Honestly, when you're going through it, you don't even care who doesn't like it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
You're not really super special for you. So.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I think it's good. To each their own.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Let people, like. Let people experience that moment however they want.
Amy Earnhardt
I think it's cringey when it's done for attention versus just done for, like, your family. You know what I mean?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
A little more intimate setting. You guys are way more loving than me. I think a lot of these are cringy.
Amy Earnhardt
But are you cringing at everything?
Producer
Most of these are cringy. At the same side of the booth. I cringe every time I see it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't get it.
Producer
It looks weird. There's a whole really open side. All the food's on one side. That's weird.
Amy Earnhardt
We share food and we're sharing the booth.
Producer
Well, I mean, I don't know. Maybe it's different.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You're married.
Producer
But, like, I mean, no, we've been.
Amy Earnhardt
Doing that since we really. Since we started dating. So if you're sitting with someone that you actually really like, and you're sitting across from each other, and you don't have a whole lot to say, Especially when you first meet.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Business meeting.
Amy Earnhardt
It's like a business meeting. True. There's no intimacy there.
Producer
I don't know, because I'm like. I'm usually on the edge of my seat talking to them, but, like, I don't know.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Dale's not like that. First date, we sat across from each other.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm not talking.
Amy Earnhardt
Had hardly anything to say. But he ate half of my food and got up and was like, all right, it's time to go, because I'm done. So, you know, I'd rather him sit next to me so I can hold his hand, at least have some intimacy.
Producer
Was your first date in, like, a restaurant?
Amy Earnhardt
It was really a Mexican food restaurant. Close to the house is an old church.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I've ate.
Amy Earnhardt
I don't know if they converted.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I think you had a soup, and I don't think your main course had even come yet. No, I stood up. I was like, time to go.
Amy Earnhardt
And he was absolutely.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I laid down like, you know, this ought to pay for it.
Amy Earnhardt
And I'm like.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I put down some cash on the table. I'm like, that should cover it. Let's go.
Amy Earnhardt
300 bucks down and was like, let's go.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. Wow.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Producer
All right.
Amy Earnhardt
I didn't need a whole lot in that first few days of hanging out with you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
There was nothing but grapes in the fridge.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I was terrible. Terrible. That was a terrible date. Yeah, for a bit.
Producer
So this one is picking food off your partner's plate. So Dale does that.
Amy Earnhardt
So I. I don't like it when it's just a blank stab. Like, that's rude, but I need to share food. Let's discuss it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I need an invitation. Yeah.
Producer
Yeah. It's not like every time you sit down, he's picking their fries.
Amy Earnhardt
No, he never does that. No, no, no.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That is. That is not okay.
Amy Earnhardt
No, he wouldn't do that.
Producer
So you hate that. We'll go with that.
Amy Earnhardt
That's cringey.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's the same.
Amy Earnhardt
That's straight rude.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Reaching over and grabbing a piece of my chicken or my steak without, like, saying, hey, that looks good. Mind if I try a bite? It's just like touching the volume on the radio in the car.
Producer
Okay. Comparable, I guess.
Amy Earnhardt
Rage.
Producer
Yeah. What about pet names for each other?
Amy Earnhardt
I don't hate pet names, but if it's like, pookie or something really stupid.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't love it.
Amy Earnhardt
You don't love It. Do we have pet names for each other? No, just honey.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Honey.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Producer
Yeah, but those are fine. It's like you said pookie. Or like.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, it's a made up name. No, we don't do that. Yeah, no, I don't like that. Or personalized license plates, by the way. I think those are stupid.
Producer
Really? Okay.
Amy Earnhardt
That falls into the same type of person to me.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Couples who post each other's text message conversations on social media, posting a text.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Of any kind, of any situation, there's never. Okay.
Amy Earnhardt
Really?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I mean I. Not without. Not without saying, hey, you mind if I post this?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So like say somebody says. Some say somebody. A friend or somebody shares you some good news and you're. You're like, hell yeah, that's awesome. They need to ask you before they screen. They're like, hey, I'm gonna screenshot this and post this. They need to say, hey, do you mind? That always needs to be the case.
Amy Earnhardt
Well, yeah, it goes back to like just doing things for attention seeking.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But I, I don't love posting text messages just in general because it's just a one on one conversation now. There's some times like I've text, I posted my mom. It was a long time ago, but it was like some silly mom said in a text and I shared it on social media because she doesn't have Twitter. It was a long time ago, but so I mean everybody.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, I'm not with a post race thing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't remember what it was. It was just something funny. I thought people would think it was hilarious.
Producer
They always say the people that. Couples that post like every, like often, oh, I love you so much. They fight the most. Like they're more open about it on social media is not really how they are behind the scenes.
Amy Earnhardt
So we're hiding something.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, that's a good, good conversation to have. So like, so this is something I.
Amy Earnhardt
Don'T know about you directed at me.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Something I don't know about you.
Amy Earnhardt
I'm about to get a lesson here, Tim.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So like I used to post like happy birthdays or happy anniversaries or.
Amy Earnhardt
No, you definitely don't post anything about that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You know, and I kind of. I did it for a while because I don't know, just was real, real excited and happy and, and new and.
Amy Earnhardt
But it doesn't, it doesn't feel genuine anymore to wish your wife happy birthday so publicly.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't know. What, what, what is it? What box is it? Checking.
Amy Earnhardt
It's like a affirmation. I don't know.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I mean, I don't. I see it. Other people do it and they're like, I couldn't do it. I couldn't do life without you. And I get it.
Amy Earnhardt
Like, no, I mean, I feel that. And I want you to tell me that at home. I don't need you to tell me that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That's what I'm saying.
Amy Earnhardt
Like, on social media, say Happy Birthday.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh, okay. Really?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
So what is acceptable social media posting in terms of milestones or relationship milestones and stuff like that? So, like, happy Birthday to you. Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Say Happy Birthday. Happy Anniversary.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
We don't have to, like, elaborate.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But you don't even have Twitter, so do it on Instagram, only you don't do it.
Amy Earnhardt
You do it for your wife to see, not for everybody else to see.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Exactly. You don't have Twitter.
Amy Earnhardt
Don't do it on Twitter. I don't.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I think so. Do it where you'll see it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yes, that's the point. Otherwise, you're doing it for tension, for yourself. That's what it looks like.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Yeah. Don't do that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Okay, I get it. I mean, I. I wonder why people do do it. Because you can just.
Amy Earnhardt
People that do that when their spouse or significant other is not even going to see it, is just doing it for their own attention.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Which is gross.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
I agree. It's way too often, too, when they do it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Producer
Yeah. Like, important milestones are like, you know, individual milestones. You're trying to congratulate her or him. Like, I think that's kind of.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. She had, like, if she goes, it's.
Amy Earnhardt
Got to just be genuine.
Producer
Yeah, genuine.
Amy Earnhardt
But for the other person, she'd finished a.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Gotten a degree or something or some crazy thing. Right? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you could be like, hey, I'm proud of my wife. Check this out. But something. I don't know where the line is of, like, okay, so birthdays, Instagram. Birthday is good. You'll see it. Happy Birthday. But like.
Amy Earnhardt
Like, if we're together on my birthday, out celebrating, you want to post a picture. That makes sense for sure.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But if I get up in the morning on your birthday and say. And craft a post, it's Amy's birthday, y'all.
Amy Earnhardt
You used to do that.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I did, but it just doesn't feel. Feel necessary anymore. I don't know.
Producer
They wear off over time. I feel in the beginning, it feels like you're the.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Like the. You know, our anniversaries and stuff, it's like we celebrate it we know it. We enjoy it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, I get it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Don't need. I don't guess I'm just getting boring on social media.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, you are kind of boring.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
You don't post anything about your family at all.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You don't.
Amy Earnhardt
You all work.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I know. So the family. So, like, you do a lot of the posting for. For the kids and so. And the family stuff, you know, you do that and you do it so good. I feel like what I post is just.
Amy Earnhardt
We used to even post pictures of, like, your travels. You don't do that anymore.
Producer
I know.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, I traveled much outside of work ever.
Amy Earnhardt
You've been all over the place.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We did. We had a year. Yeah, we did.
Producer
Well, that was love it, hate or cringy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That was. We were definitely cringe right there at the end.
Producer
You want to ask Amy?
Amy Earnhardt
Yep. Hi, guys. Thank you for being here on Bless yous Heart. We are on our new YouTube station, so thank you for subscribing, if you haven't already hit the button. And we are here for Ask Amy. So what do you have today?
Producer
Well, our first question is from Katie. She really enjoyed watching you and Jamie play Priorities last week and you mentioned that Dale is really good at games. Dale, do you know which one you're good at and which one Amy thinks you're good at? Any game, card game or board games you guys prefer. What type of game you guys prefer? It's a lot in there. I know.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
What have we played?
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, you're good at all games.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah, I mean, I just. We used to play President Nassholes.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. I've watched you play poker.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Poker? Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, Blackjack.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, the thing about him, Monopoly, he's gonna. He's. It's like he can foresee what's gonna happen on the board and he just sweeps it. But I think you're just good at games. You're good at, like, puzzles and games and things like that. And it doesn't even matter if you've had 10 beers. Like, you're still pretty sharp when it comes to that kind of thing. Yeah, it's impressive.
Producer
Yeah. There's a. Their next question is also is from McCoy. They want to know yesterday on Ask Junior, Dale said he got in trouble at school because he had a playboy. And he's wondering if, Amy, what kind of student you were in school and did you ever get in trouble?
Amy Earnhardt
I did not get in trouble. I was always worried about getting in trouble at home, which I didn't get in trouble at home very much either. I just was a rule follower and so I was always pretty good as a good student. And I did get put in. Actually, take it back. I did get put in ISS once for hitting some. Somebody.
Producer
Oh, watch out.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, I clocked this boy because he deserved it.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Oh.
Amy Earnhardt
And I got put in ISS too, because I. I got him pretty good.
Producer
But that's like the top tier level of trouble to get.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, well, I was. I was kind of tired of being bullied. Oh. I got bullied a little bit in school. I got punched a couple times myself.
Producer
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
Yes, really? Yep. Turned me into a scrappy little girl, but, yeah, that happened once.
Producer
Wow.
Amy Earnhardt
Did you know that?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I think so. Yeah.
Producer
Damn. All right, well, from that, there's a question in the YouTube chat about your upcoming girls trip. Hopefully no punches are thrown there. What's your go to hangover meal in the morning?
Amy Earnhardt
Ooh. Honestly, usually when I'm hungover, I don't want to eat anything. But my. My favorite guilty pleasure when I'm hungover is like Taco Bell.
Producer
Ooh, Taco Bell. What do you get, the Mexican pizza or you just go straight?
Amy Earnhardt
I get a Mexican pizza. I used to get the double decker tacos, and they've taken those off the menu and I'm so upset about it. Every once in a while they bring them back and I just hit the drive through at lunchtime just for. Just for, you know, good measure. But what is yours?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I like five guys or like a good cheeseburger? Cheeseburger.
Producer
Some greasy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, Yep.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Some Bojangles?
Amy Earnhardt
Yep.
Producer
Are you guys a hair green type of people too? Where, like, you know, it's a bad one. You need another drink to kind of.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, yeah. Care of the dog. Yeah, absolutely.
Producer
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah. I mean, only problem there is, like, if I drink another. So if I get up and have a beer, I'm ready to have another. I'm ready to do the whole day over again.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. Like, so if we're on a trip, that's just usually the plan. You kind of don't have a choice.
Producer
Don't stop.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'll just keep. Because one. One beer puts me back to drunk. Like, oh, one beer will get me back to, like, where I was around five or six the day before. And I'm like, hey, I'm ready to party. Yeah, I'm back. Let's go. What are we doing? So I can only have hair of the dog if there's like a room, you know, Runway, to raise some hail.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Producer
Okay. I get on that board with that. Is there a Water ratio when you're on that, too, like reading your should be.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
But they're probably using enough water.
Amy Earnhardt
That was the problem to begin with.
Producer
Next question is from Randy. What are two things you'd love to ask your pet? So if your pet could talk, what would you ask it would you want to know?
Amy Earnhardt
I'm gonna ask Junebug why he pees everywhere in the house.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Okay.
Amy Earnhardt
What are you gonna ask?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I would just. Man, I don't know.
Amy Earnhardt
I mean, he has spitefully done that since we got him. He's a tiny little dog, and we traveled with him quite a bit, so he, like, he knows where to go, and he will do it. If he's stressed or if he thinks we're gonna travel and leave him somewhere, he'll just start peeing.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Gus. Yeah, sorry.
Amy Earnhardt
Go ahead.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Gus growls at us, mostly me.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, you. He growls at you.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I go over there this morning, and he's sitting on the couch, and I go over there, and I. I give him this big old hug, and he's like. And I'm like, what are you growling at? Like, what is the problem? Yeah, like, you are so loved.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. He seems to have just enough punk in him that if he's annoyed with Dale's extra energy and all things, he's gonna growl.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I hug him and give him this hug and rub his back, and he's like. And then as soon as I sit up, he's like, where you going, man? Where are you going?
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He used to talk, and I'm like, I knew it.
Amy Earnhardt
He used to, like, howl and kind of moan and talk like he. You almost felt like y'all were having a conversation, and that has gone. He's not doing that at all anymore. He just.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
A lot.
Producer
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Growls. He does have a lot of arthritis, so he's probably in pain a little bit.
Producer
But do they. Do they both, like, rush to the door when you guys come home and jump? I feel like I would wonder. I would want to know what they're. What they're saying. Is it just noises?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They're like, intruder comes in the driveway. She comes by the front door, and then to the garage. So they see her, and they run to the front door. Loud barking. Barking, both of them. And then they run all the way through the house to the garage door every time and stand at that garage door, just bark, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark, bark. Till she comes through it.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And I'm like, y'all know the routine. Y'all know what is happening here.
Amy Earnhardt
You know my.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Really?
Amy Earnhardt
Not until I Speak to them and they can hear my voice. They will not stop talking. They won't stop screaming. And Gus is loud.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
He's so loud.
Amy Earnhardt
Hey, he's a next level. He's not a bark. It's like a howl. Because he's a bird dog. He's really loud.
Producer
He's Irish. Setter, right? Yeah. Do they have a favorite.
Amy Earnhardt
Do we have a favorite person?
Producer
You were.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, they're. I'm.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
They both love the most.
Producer
Yeah, usually most do. These next couple questions are more about you guys as a couple. Jody wants to know who said I love you first.
Amy Earnhardt
Oh, I don't know. Do you?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I wouldn't. I'd be guessing.
Amy Earnhardt
I would be, too.
Producer
Really? Wow.
Amy Earnhardt
I know. It happened pretty early.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I can't even remember those. I mean, I can't even imagine what that was like, but it was.
Amy Earnhardt
I bet that was cringy.
Producer
So it may be advice for people that are a little, like, nervous to say it to their party for the first time. How early is too early?
Amy Earnhardt
I don't know. You have a right to be nervous, but never worry about putting your feelings out there, I guess.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Because you might not get the chance if you wait.
Producer
But good advice.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Man. I don't know. It's always tough.
Amy Earnhardt
It's scary. It's never not scary.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Read the room, I guess. I don't know. The next one, then, also is. Amy, can you tell us how Dale proposed to you?
Amy Earnhardt
Yes. So we were in Ileim, Germany. We were there for what I thought was a genealogy kind of excursion to explore where his family was from. He had done a lot of research, and we had checked into this tiny little bed and breakfast and had a night downstairs with the locals. And so we were hungover, and we're going to see the church the next day. And our good friend Martin had lined up a meeting with the pastor. So we get to open the church. I think it was like a middle of the week. It wasn't a Sunday, so the church was not open. And we're just looking around the church, and all of a sudden I turn around, it's kind of quiet, and he's on his knee. I'm right, like, right next to the altar, and he's on his knee. And I have. I was flabbergasted. I don't know. He flew it out of the park.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Did you think it was coming?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
You had.
Producer
No.
Amy Earnhardt
No, I had no idea. We really. We hadn't discussed rings or really getting engaged. We. I don't know. We had. We Were in a good place in our relationship, but that was good enough for me. And the trip was not about us. It was about seeing where his family was from, which was exciting. And so, no, it was, we were very distracted and I didn't see it coming at all.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
That's awesome.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Producer
Were you nervous, though, when you did it?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Huh? Was I nervous? Yeah. I was so ready to do it. I was so excited to do it. I wasn't really nervous as much as I was just like, had been carrying that ring around and I was like, man, I wanted this for myself for so long. Of course, you gotta remember, I, I, this is happening like, kind of later in my life. Right. Than I'd imagined. And so, and the way we had planned it to be there and it just was. Came together perfectly.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I don't know. I mean, I didn't know what that church looked like. I didn't know what the town looked like. We were going to. I was totally like, shut, you know.
Producer
Just focused on that moment.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Well, no, I mean, I was like.
Amy Earnhardt
He was going into those portions of it, not knowing what he was going to get.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I was visiting this, this town, Ilisheim, has 300 people in it. In 1700, when the Earnhards were there, there were 300 people. It has not changed. I didn't know what we were walking into. This church was a thousand years old or 700 years old. I didn't know what it looked like. And I'm like, yeah, I guess, I mean, I'm Ask her in the church. I hope, you know, if everything goes the way it's supposed to go. I didn't know if it's going to be busy, a bunch of people in there, we, by ourselves. Would it be quiet? Had no clue.
Amy Earnhardt
But it was like this ethereal space and we were all by ourselves.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And it was just, it was everything, it was, everything was the way that I would have asked, I would have wanted it to be.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
To be able to set up the moment. So it was good.
Producer
That's awesome.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
It worked out. I remember the funny, the, the part that's kind of funny to me is when we got, when we did that, you know, we had, we got, you know, we had this moment of being excited and happy and everybody's happy. And, you know, that was, I mean, you know, Kelly. And everybody's so happy.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
And we go outside, take a couple pictures, and then we walked back to wherever. You know, we get back, we walk back to wherever we came from, to the car down the street or Whatever. And it's just. You're walking down the street, and you're just like, all right, well, I guess we're going to. I guess now I'm engaged. You know, it's just this really weird, Weird transition. Yeah. Everything. I mean, new life does just go right back to normal.
Producer
Yeah. I've always wanted that. When you see the pictures of people get engaged, like, what'd you guys do after? Did you, like, high five?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Nothing.
Amy Earnhardt
Remember?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
To be honest, you didn't do any. You did go back to your. What you were going to do if you did get engaged.
Producer
Yeah, it's. It's kind of a crazy thing. Thing to think about.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. So a lot of people, they get engaged, you know, a little closer to home, not, like in the backyard, but not in Europe with nobody around them. So they might have friends and family around or have, like, a cocktail reception plan, or they might have been planning to go to dinner or do something. So, like, there's an event to support the excitedness. I don't know what we were doing that day besides the church. We were just kind of exploring the town.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
We were.
Amy Earnhardt
I don't know. The whole thing was. The whole trip was a big celebration. I felt like.
Producer
Yeah, it's fascinating.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Producer
Our last question is from James. And what. What do you got?
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
There was this one thing we did where we. We stopped by this lady's house and we bought some.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah. So there's like three or four business and businesses in town only, and one of them is a bridal shop. And so we did go into the bridal shop, and I got a few little things to, like, put in my bouquet and a handkerchief and some different things from the bridal shop there. So that was special.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
That was neat.
Producer
That was just a coincidence that there was.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yes. There's really.
Amy Earnhardt
There's like, an appliance store. A bridal shop. And I forget what the other thing is.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Wood shop or something.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Wow. All right.
Producer
That's cool.
Amy Earnhardt
Yeah, that's good.
Producer
Last question from James. He wants to know, did Dale buy you your own beard trimmer yet?
Amy Earnhardt
No, we're still shaving.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
What the hell?
Amy Earnhardt
I clipped his hair the other day.
Producer
Yeah. I think we have. I think we have a new shirt.
Amy Earnhardt
It's ours now. Okay.
Producer
It's always gonna be a shared one.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
I'm fine with it. Everybody's like, oh, man, chill out.
Producer
I think it's more confident.
Amy Earnhardt
He's just shy and he blushes. I mean, we talked about this. So back to that. He loves to come up behind me in the kitchen. Most men do this to their wives. He's squeezing on me, juggling boobies, poking my butt, whatever he wants to do. If I go to do anything similar back to him, he jumps out of his skin like, he's like, ah, yeah.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
That's just who he is.
Producer
Yeah. I think we have a shirt on the Journey Moe store that has something similar to that.
Amy Earnhardt
Yes. We have a new shirt. I have a printout so I can show everybody.
Producer
Yeah.
Amy Earnhardt
So we have merch now for Bless yous Heart. And our first item is fully charged and ready to rip. So there's a T shirt and a sweatshirt, and we have more things to come, so. But this is our. Our initial item.
