Amy Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are back for another episode on Bless Your ‘Hardt. Amy and Dale are recording from the beach today, and this week has been full of surprise adulting moments. First, they managed to tame the courageous battle against poop in the pool…twice. Dale learned how to navigate the treacherous waters of a potential gas leak, and we played a fun game called “Name That Guy Thing.” Plus, we have Ask Amy and more!

The following is a production of Dirty Mo Media.
Amy
Oh, yeah. This is the way it's going to be, girl. We're going to hang out, open a bunch of jars. You got big strong hands. Are you suffering from high crack?
Production Announcer
I'm working.
Amy
Working. That mout.
Production Announcer
Man just came straight out of the gate pooping the pool.
Amy
Pooping the pool is never a good idea, but we've had to deal with some pooping the pool the last week. We've had a repeat offender with in our pool. And the first time it happened, Dale wasn't here, but the pool guy had just left, and so I had to call him back and have him shock the pool. I don't know if you've ever had to deal with that. No. So you can't get in the pool. If someone poops in the pool, it's like code red. Get out. And when you have little kids, sometimes they just don't want to stop playing and they just do it when they do it. You know, they do that sometimes in the bathtub, too, when they're really little. So we had plenty of experience learning how to deal with it then. But yeah. So pool guy comes back, shocks the pool. The kids get out, we find something else to do. 72 hours later, we wait a little extra just in Case what? Yeah. You were going for the whole race weekend.
Production Announcer
You waited 72 hours.
Amy
Yeah, it happened, what, Thursday afternoon? Yeah, we didn't get back in until you guys got back on Monday.
Production Announcer
Man, that's a long time.
Amy
Sunday, because it was Saturday night race. So it was Monday or Sunday that we get back in the pool and we're not in there an hour happens again. So Dale, Dale gets on his phone. We get out of the pool. Dale gets on his phone, immediately starts to spiral. He's googling all the things you need to do to shock the pool so that we don't have to call shamelessly, call our pool guy back out to do this again. But also, it's Sunday and they're probably not open anyway, so Dale gets some shock.
Production Announcer
Wait, you're going in fast forward?
Amy
Oh, I mean, for me, that's what it looked like.
Production Announcer
Yeah, well, it was an experience going to the store to get this shock. But the. So we have this small pool. It's, it's relatively small, very basic, square, six foot deep at the most. It's perfect. Back in North Carolina, the pool that I built years ago is much more ridiculous. But this pool is really simple and great just for kind of cooling off. And kids love it. And I got an umbrella that I put in the ground that, you know, you can, you can over extend almost over half of the pool. It's that small. Right. So it's a small pool, but so I stuck an umbrella in the ground and now you can kind of wind an umbrella out over the pool. Little mechanical. So this thing's awesome. And yes to Amy's point, like when, when you have a toddler, like a one or two year old, and you want them to swim or play in a pool, you have to watch their bottom because they'll poop in that diaper, you know?
Amy
Yeah, usually too, you have like a pull up on them. But she's been well out of that for a long time.
Production Announcer
Sure. Yeah. So, I mean, the, the poop in the pool is not a new thing. And we are, we are hyper aware. But you know, as, as they get a little older, you kind of think that that's probably out of their system. But sometimes, like Amy said, they want to play so bad, they don't want to miss anything. They don't want to stop doing what they're doing. And, and yeah, it kind of happened, but the problem was it happened back to back in like a matter of a couple days. And we're like, all right, you're not getting the lesson. So to Amy's point, we didn't want to call the guy and say, hey, yeah, you came out here and shocked the pool two days ago. Now we got to do it again. He's going to be like, look, man, just don't let the kid in the pool. And so we didn't call him. And I go into Google mode and I'm going to figure this out. So I learned how to, obviously, I learned how to first read the chemicals. So do the little chemical test that you have where you, you put the drops in and all that. I mean, it's not hard. I didn't know how hard it was. It's not that big of deal. You get a little pool water, you put five drops in for the chlorine and for the ph, and you read it. And so that was kind of nice to learn that. I didn't know how much our pool, I didn't know how many gallons our pool had in it, water wise. So you're going to need to know that to be able to go get the shock and know how much shock to put in it. I wanted to put enough shock in it to fix the problem, but not so much shock that we couldn't swim in it for 72 hours. Um, we had conflicting reports. So we called this lady that cleaned our pool in the past and she's like, it's not a big deal. You guys are reacting, Gosh, this is hilarious to me. I'm a pool expert and you guys are just going crazy. And then I went, like, to Amy's point. I drove over to this pool supply store and I go in and I'm like, hey, here's a picture of my pool. I don't know how many gallons of water it is, but here's a picture of it. You might look at that pool as a pool expert and go, oh, that's 15,000 gallons of water. I don't know. And he's like, well, I need. I think you need to put six pounds of shock in it. I'm talking to this guy and he reminds me of one of those army vets where everything is, like, by the book, super serious. He's like, yep, you're going to need to put at least six in there just to be safe. You're going to have to stay out of this thing for 72 hours. And I was like, oh, really? I was like. Our. Our friend told us that they shocked the pool and they were back in there in 24 hours. Well, they're lucky they didn't have to Go to the hospital. I mean, you're lucky. Yeah. Somebody hasn't had to be carry, you know. I was like, all right, all right. I got the £6 he owned. He wants me to buy, buy the £6. We come back home, we're gonna put this stuff in there. We called our friend back. We got, hey, we got six pounds of this stuff. She's like, oh, you only need to put two in there.
Amy
You only need two. Also, our friends that are here with us have a pool at their house. It's about the same size, just a little bit bigger. It's deeper. And she's like, you know, we do this, we do this regularly just to make sure that the pool is maintained. We do not need six bags of. We won't be able to get back in there for a whole week.
Production Announcer
It'll take that long for it to burn off. You're supposed to shock the pool regularly every a couple weeks or so. Yeah, what they say, Google says, but Google said it's a pound for every 10,000 gallons. And we're not 20,000 gallons. So putting a two pounds in there was plenty. Turns the water gray. We. You gotta. The. The guy again, going back to our military vet, he's like, hey, man, put this stuff, put, put this stuff in a five gallon bucket of water and mix it up first and, and then add it to the pool. And he's like, don't put it in the bucket before the water because it'll explode. He's like, it's uncon. It's an uncontrolled substance or something. He's like, if you put it in there and then put the water in the bucket, you're gonna have a problem. So I'm like, holy.
Amy
Like, it'll funk up.
Production Announcer
No, it'll have an. It'll. It'll. I don't know, it'll do something.
Amy
Combusting your face.
Production Announcer
Combust.
Amy
I don't know.
Production Announcer
Yeah, dangerous. Anyways, it's these little granules, granules. And they go down in the water and you let it kind of hang out. And then we scrub the surf, we scrub the walls with this little scrubber. And then we got to vacuum in a day later and got to. I mean, the pool never been cleaner right now. I mean, the pool is immaculate. Like it's. This is cleanest water you ever seen. I test, got the. I did some tests. We're about. We're a little bit over three. We're not, we're not too dangerous.
Amy
Still very high.
Production Announcer
Yeah, we're not dangerous. You can swim in it, but it's a little higher. Normal. Yeah. I've swam in pools. I've smelled the chlorine more, stronger, strongly. So I'm not too worried about it. We swam in it yesterday, and everybody's been fine. Nobody's had to get rushed to the hospital yet. But that was the poop in the pool. So, you know, in the end, it's another. It's another situation, Amy, where you're parenting or being adult or whatever you want to call it, forces you into these situations where you are going to learn to do things. Like instead of, you know, worrying, letting the pool guy come over and worry about the chemicals, you know, and you just not ever knowing nothing about it, you're going to have these moments in life where you're like, you have to kick into action and figure it out for yourself. And I kind of love those. I love those moments where I'm. I kind of needed to know how to do this anyways, you know, for my own, you know, sanity. And. And it wasn't as hard. It's never as hard as you think it's gonna be to, like, just check chlorine level in a pool.
Amy
Checking the chlorine and teaching yourself how to shock. It's the easy part. Trying to figure out how to teach the kid to never do that again. That is the hard part. That is absolutely right. Still a challenge. It's still sitting in the back of my mind.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
Every time she gets in the pool, I'm going to be like, do we need to get out? Do we need to get out? You need to take a break.
Production Announcer
I wanted her to understand that the pool was broke. Right. She. She. She looks back and goes, what? It's big deal. Get it out. And we're good to go. No, you know, I don't know. You know, she doesn't realize that the. The pool is broken.
Amy
Well, they don't know what germs are either, when they're little. Like, trying to explain germs to kids is just about impossible because they can't see it.
Production Announcer
So.
Amy
Yeah, just one of those things. You feel like you're just talking in circles all the time.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
One of the things, though, that I didn't. That I don't understand that you keep. You mentioned from time to time, and I've not. I'm not picking up on this is like, it's embarrassing her. So, like, if I. If we're standing there by the pool and I'm like, nicole, you know, you pooped in the Pool, you can't do that. You got to knock. You got to get out, you know, and the other kids around, you're like, dale, you're embarrassing her.
Amy
Well, I just can see her shut down. Like, she's not even hearing what you say anymore. You've. You've lost.
Production Announcer
Yeah, I wish I could pick up on that, because I definitely don't want to embarrass her, and I. I should know that. That's. I should probably understand the simple act of calling her out in front of everybody's. Absolutely.
Amy
Well, she's like you. You got it.
Production Announcer
I know. But also feel like she's four and doesn't have that, you know, that. That. That personality trait yet to get ashamed.
Amy
Yeah, I think they all have that.
Production Announcer
If she. If she felt that way, she wouldn't do that in front of her friends. Right. She wouldn't have that accident happen in front of her friends who she wants.
Amy
To impress, or that's what logic would say. But she's got no frontal lobe yet, so she's just living by the seat of her pants.
Production Announcer
No lobe. Oh, man.
Amy
Yeah, the frontal lobe doesn't develop fully until you're, like, in your early 20s. That rational thinking thing.
Production Announcer
Yeah, that explains a lot.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
Well, we also came here. This is a dad to fail. We also came here. So we have a big gas tank in the ground, and it needs to have gas in it to have hot water. We have three hot water heaters. They're down here in the elements of the beach. It can corrode everything, anything, almost any metal. And there was a tiny, tiny little pinhole leak in one of the lines that they discovered and fixed it immediately. But we came back. I didn't know that you're supposed to call them when it gets low. Like, I thought they just routinely came by here and filled it up, you know, and checked it or kind of. You know, you pay them a service, and just like an exterminator or anything else, they would come by and do the job every couple of weeks or whatever. Right. And they. And that's not the case. You got to call them when it gets to a certain percentage or, you know, people will fill their tanks if it gets below 40, 30, 20, whatever. Right. And they gonna. It's gonna be a few days before they can come out here. You can pay a little extra money to expedite it or. Or it runs out. And I didn't know that. So we got here, we had zero gas, and to Amy's point, we did have that leak. And I'm like, we got another leak or something? What the. You know, I got a. Got a what? What is going on? You know, why did they not fill it up? They had. I didn't know that they weren't coming. I thought that they were coming, and it's leaked out somewhere somehow. And so I was in a bit of.
Amy
Yet again, he's spiraling panic.
Production Announcer
I was in a house fire when I was little, and. And any kind of. Any kind of, like, danger around those type of things really gets me up.
Amy
Yeah. But meanwhile, there's no smell of gas anywhere. Like, there's no alarming smell, like, there's gas leaking.
Production Announcer
And so I figured out that you got to call them when it gets low. So I call them. We get them to come out here to service it, and we even paid a little extra money to have it expedited because we're here for. For a little bit, a very brief time. And we need the hot water, and so we have to take cold showers. And I'm one of those people where, like, cold showers, tough to take. Amy hops right in there.
Amy
Yeah, I'm mentally tough. I'm mentally tougher than you.
Production Announcer
Mentally tough.
Amy
I think I got in the shower, I took a deep breath, and I let it out when I got in the cold water, and I embraced it. This one jumps around like he's a piece of popcorn on fire. Like, literally wiggling, jumping, like, arching his back. I mean, I laugh my ass off at him just because the visual was so good. I'm like, what in the world, dude, Take him. Calm your mind. Like, calm down. He's like, I can't do it.
Production Announcer
I am sensitive physically to temperature, and I would rather be uncomfortably warm than, like, I would rather be in a room. Like, I love. I'm not crazy, people. I like 68 to 72 degrees. That's, like, the perfect temperature range, right? I mean, everybody can live in that little. Everybody would have their thermostats there. But if I was to go into a room that was 64 or 63, I'd rather be in a room that was 76, 78.
Amy
He's like Goldilocks. He likes it just right. So at home, we have the things that were our shower. Like, he's got a setting. I have a setting. But if I'm in the shower and he wants to have setting hotter, mine's hotter. And he'll get in there, same thing, arches back and like, ugh, it's burning me.
Production Announcer
I get it.
Amy
It's just like, two degrees different dude.
Production Announcer
Amy's temperature that she thinks is comfortable is not comfortable to me.
Amy
So I can do mega hot and mega cold, and this little sweet baby can't. Like, he's got to be right in the middle. Perfect temp. Or he's uncomfortable. Not to the point of like grin and Barrett. It's. He's making a scene.
Production Announcer
Her hot. Her. Her. The way she can take a shower now. Hot ass water. It stings. I mean, it's hot. So everybody has a different, like, tolerance. Right. And apparently my tolerance isn't as high as Amy's or what I prefer. What she prefers is higher than me, which is, I think quite interesting. Her hot, you know, is her. Her comfort level in a hot shower is too hot for me. I get in there and I'm like, that's uncomfortable. It's hot. I don't. Like, I could stand here and take this, you know, five minute shower and still that would be too hot after a few minutes, you know, it's not something I could get used to.
Amy
Well, you can't do it in the cold either.
Production Announcer
No, no. But anyhow, we had to take cold showers. We got it done.
Amy
That's at the end of that story, though.
Production Announcer
No, I know. I'm good.
Amy
We. We had issues with the tank. Still.
Production Announcer
I know the guy comes out here.
Amy
The tank was completely empty. They had to require. Since it was completely empty, they have to have a sign off from someone that's 18 years or older to release the tank and do a leak check. Usually they don't want it to get below like 30 or 40, and then they won't fill it over 80. Like there's this sweet little window of.
Production Announcer
I was in. I was in here working in the office. Amy was in the house doing something busy. And. And we. We get done with doing what we're doing, Go down there. And they have came and left. The tank is now 80%. And there's a little note on the front door, but nobody heard the person knock on the door. And so I go down to the tank, and it's got a padlock on it, and we can't. And it's closed. They have cranked the valve closed and padlocked it, so you can't open it. Now we have gas in a tank, but no gas still in the house. And I'm like. And I start to think, why do they padlock this? There must be a problem. There must be an issue. There must be a leak. There must be. You know, I'm still thinking like, why? What's going on. And so I call the. I've paid for them to come out and put the gas in extra.
Amy
I paid extra tax, whole thing.
Production Announcer
And they came, filled it up and locked it. And now I'm calling and I'm like, hey, man, you padlocked my tank. And they're like, well, it looks like on the report that nobody could find anyone to release the tank. We need to see an 18 year old or older person to be able to say, okay, tank is full, thank you, shake your hand, goodbye. And that didn't happen. So they locked it and left.
Amy
But the tank guy, the gas guy, as he's leaving, our contractor came to help us try to figure out what was going on. Also, he waved at him like he saw they had a thing in passing.
Production Announcer
Yeah, I don't know. He left the note on the front door. So he came to the front door.
Amy
The dog. If anyone comes near the front door for the landscapers to water the plants, they are charging the door. I don't know how this happened where nobody saw him here.
Production Announcer
Well, I still think, all right, they've locked it for a reason to. It's a dangerous safety issue. And I, I would, I started to think, man, maybe they didn't see anybody or maybe they. But I call them and they're like, yep, didn't see anybody out there. So he locked it and left. We'll have to have somebody come out there and do a leak check. And I'm like, all right, I, I want a leak check. Come on out. You know, this is a rough environment. Come out here and leak check the shit out of this. But I, I want to get my. Can I, you know, I was like kind of mad because I had paid extra to expedite the delivery and now I've got to wait for them to come back out and I've got to wait 24 hours so they're not coming to leak check and unpad lock the tank till tomorrow. Oh my gosh. And so more cold showers. We, we. And my buddy's like, dude, I'll cut that damn lock off. We'll open that somebody.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
I'm like, no, no, I'm like, let's not do that. I don't want. They're coming tomorrow and I don't want them to show up and see the padlock cut and go, oh, yeah, now you're really in trouble. Calling the law. So they came out and the leak check was basically just unpad locking the tank. He had a couple little things. He checked around the tank we went to a hot water heater, saw it fire up, take off and we're good to go. Guy was super nice, super cool, gave me his phone number. He's like, hey, if you ever have any issues, by all means just call me. I'll come through. So it ended up being great, but another adulting moment where you're just like learning things about, you know, random stuff, random maintenance, typical maintenance and stuff that every day regular folk already know. Quince.com dalejr well, there was another random thing that happened just yesterday, and I want to shout out to Dale for this. By the way, let's do the drink of the week. Dale just took a sip of his high rock. So hi Rock's sponsoring our drink of the week again. We have a hyrak mimosa. I put mine in a pretty little glass. Dale refused, so he's got his sugarlands fast.
Production Announcer
But I want to drink out of a more masculine container.
Amy
Yes. One shot of vodka, champagne, and then you top it with your orange juice. So it's delicious and very easy. Please visit highrock vodka.com to find vodka near you. They have a store locator there for you. You can also ship if your state allows it, but you also must be 21 years or older, so you must drink responsibly. Back to the thing, though. Yesterday, we're at a restaurant for dinner, and it's busy. We walk in with. We have a party of eight. So we're kind of a scene. Just walking in the door, and this gentleman happens to notice Dale, and he's deaf. He can't hear. But he is very, very lively. Is that the right word?
Production Announcer
Animated.
Amy
Animated way, you know, showing that he knows who Dale is. He's doing, like, the race car hands. He's, like, pointing to the bartender like, hey, look at this guy. So we kind of have a moment with him.
Production Announcer
And he was going around. He. He was coming toward me. And by. And as he's going by other people at the bar.
Amy
Yes.
Production Announcer
To get to where we are, he's like tapping them on the shoulder, pointing. And everybody's like, what? What? What's going on?
Amy
I thought that he knew those people.
Production Announcer
He's, like, doing the driving.
Amy
Yeah, yeah.
Production Announcer
It's like he's like, hey, look. Look. Look who it is. Look who it is. And everybody's like, well, I don't know. The guy.
Amy
Is the guy. One of the ladies, like, closest to us. She's got to be in her 20s. She turns around, she goes. I'm so confused.
Production Announcer
Most people were like, yeah, we don't recognize. We don'. We don't know what's going on. But he did.
Amy
He did and he was very excited. It was very cute. So he sits down, we all go sit to eat. And he kind of keeps glancing over at Dale. And at one point, Dale's like, let's buy his dinner. So I go to the bartender, because that's where he's sitting, to eat his dinner. And I'm like, hey, we want to discreetly, you know, pay for his tab when he's ready or when we're ready, whatever. And so that. That happens towards the end of the night. We pay for our tab. We pay for his separately because he's sitting at the bar and her waitress brings over his tab, and he has only drank. He hasn't eaten anything. $150 worth of margaritas. I was like, wow.
Production Announcer
Man was having a day.
Amy
Good for him. Maybe we should slip him a couple tacos just in case. But, like, he was really having a good time, you know, we paid for it anyway. But he comes over to say thank you, because on the tab they had, they wrote, dale Earnhardt paid for your dinner. And so, of course, he comes over and he wants to say thank you. And the girls, like, he wants to take a picture or something with us. And the girls are a little nervous.
Production Announcer
He's teaching the girls how to do a little sign language.
Amy
He like, teaching them how to say I love you and trying to teach them sign language. Well, I say thank you. That's like, the only thing I remember from school. And Dale. I turned to Dale, and I think he's just going to do, like, the wave off. And he does Starts doing this whole, like, thing. I'm like, whoa, where did you pull that out of? Like, I know, you know, a bunch of random, but I didn't know you knew how to sign language, too. And he had told him, like, to have a nice day in sign language.
Production Announcer
You do this. Have a good. And then this day. That's a day that's just like the clock or the day, the sun going down.
Amy
I don't know.
Production Announcer
Have a good day.
Amy
Have a good day.
Production Announcer
That blew Amy's mind.
Amy
My mouth's hanging open. And then he. The. The gentleman, his name is Ricky. The gentleman to my left is, like, watching my reaction and starts to die, laughing at the whole thing. It was like, joke was on me almost at that point. But it was amazing. I was impressed with Dale yet again. And, I mean, I couldn't stop thinking about it after that. Like, where did you pull that out of your ass? Like, really? How did you figure that out?
Production Announcer
Well, I'll tell you how it all happened. So there was back in the 90s when I. Around 1994, 95, I was racing Myrtle Beach Speedway, and one of the fans that came every single weekend was deaf and brought me a sign book. So he said, hey. He was telling me. He's like, man, I would. I would like it if you might learn a couple signs so we could communicate. And I might still have that in my library, actually. But he gave me that book, and I learned a couple things. But I mean, stuff like, if you're not doing it all the time, it's hard to keep. Remember what's going on. It's like playing the drums. Like, if you don't do it all the time, you can't just hop down and pick it right back up. And so. But I remember that was like, he was telling me, he's like, this would be neat for me, right, if you could just say hello or. Or whatever. Right? And I thought, man, of course. I get it. And so when Amy walked over to get his tab, I pulled up a video on YouTube and thought I would try to learn quickly how to say, have a nice day. And so I watched the video on YouTube real quick and was, like, thinking in my mind, like, how to mimic the motions. And so I was like, all right, so when he comes over here, I'll just make sure I can sign to him so he'll feel. He'll feel seen or heard, you know?
Amy
Well, it was very smooth.
Production Announcer
Yeah. Awesome. Hell, yeah, brother. Yeah. That was fun. He was awesome. Dude. We have July 4th coming up. I hope everybody's gonna celebrate responsibly and have a good time. Amy had this really cool idea. Amy is the. She is the queen of. Of creativity.
Amy
I'm like a hospitality director.
Production Announcer
You are. You are so good at all of those things. And so when we have company over, she just got all the extras. Right. Goes. Goes beyond what's necessary to make them feel welcome and happy. And they have all kinds of, like, gifts and things or whatever.
Amy
Yeah, we are big gift givers.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
But I want everyone's experience to be good and, like, large.
Production Announcer
Well, she'll put out the banners or the, you know, the. The typical sort of stuff that you'll see around homes during the. During this time of year. But she got this stencil, and it's to spray paint stars on the ground or the grass in your yard. They're about a foot wide. Stars. And it's just a stencil. And she even got the. The marking paint instead of regular paint. She got the marking paint that you would spray on the ground, it's like chalk. Yeah. So it washes away.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
And she's out in the whole. She's. So our yard is surrounded by a public road and so it's got like a.
Amy
We're on the corner too. So we've got a lot of side yard.
Production Announcer
It's got a 10 foot wide strip of grass all the way around up against the road. And she's out there laying that stencil down, doing red and blue stars on the ground of the perimeter of our lot. And she said she came back in. She goes, I had to quit.
Amy
I was out there with the red paint first.
Production Announcer
She's like, the neighbors. Neighbors were walking around looking at me.
Amy
I was getting some slow rides and a lot of iron.
Production Announcer
I like, because this is a very.
Amy
I'm like, I want to show them. I want to slow. I want slow down so I can tell you what I'm doing. Please don't call the cops on me. This is safe for the environment. Like we're at the beach. So like the sea turtles, all the sea life is very like the focus. You can't have too much lighting around your house at night. It's really, really important. All the environmental stuff's important. And so I'm nervous at this point that this older gentleman especially who circled the block again to see what I was doing was going to turn me in. And so I ran in the garage and shut it. I was like, I'm not sticking time out and do that blue stuff later because I'm a little nervous.
Production Announcer
She's going to do it in the dead of night.
Amy
Yes. I'm going to go out there when it's dark and do the blue stars.
Production Announcer
We're country out in the woods, kind of, you know, do anything we want, you know, to our property kind of people. I've grew up around dad and he carved up his property however he wanted to do it. And we're having, having this beach house for the last six years or so are having to like, remember. Yeah, yeah. That. That we don't really get to kind of just be able to do anything we want.
Amy
People are watching.
Production Announcer
Yeah. The neighbors. There's like room, you know, the neighborhood rules and guidelines around like kind of how far, you know, go with some of the things you want to do. But.
Amy
Well, to that point though, I like to follow the rules. I'm not trying to step outside of the boundaries of the rules.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
I don't want to get us in trouble, but I was A little nervous about that.
Production Announcer
I always. I like to do a little goodwill around the neighborhood. We have a right on the. We're on the intersection and. And on our intersection are a bunch of community trash cans. And, man, they. The trash truck will come by, and he picks them up and sets them down. You know, they. The big trash truck dump arm picks them up and throws them into the. And throws them back on the ground, and he drives away. And they're all kind of situated. All different. Yeah. Or the public, you know, the public uses them a lot on. At the beach access, and they get moved around and upside down and rolled over, lids open. I'm the kind of guy that'll go over there and straighten all that out, get them looking nice and neat, you know, So I like. I like. I'm. I'm enjoying the. I'm enjoying being a community member to the community. Yeah.
Amy
Well, we were looking out the window yesterday. We have a little bench that overlooks the street, like, right at the edge of the house. And there was this dad with his young boy, and they were literally hopping from star to star down the. Down the side of the house. And I was like, that's the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Production Announcer
I told Amy. I said, amy, you did that?
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
Created this little moment. She created this little moment for the dad.
Amy
I'm like, I didn't even think about that happening, but I'm so glad it is. It was adorable.
Production Announcer
So wholesome.
Amy
It was. There's. There's a lot of fun activities around here for the fourth, too. Like, they have a golf cart parade, and everybody dresses up their golf cart. We almost themed ours one year, but we just got too lazy because it starts pretty early in the morning. We were going to, like, be a pirate ship.
Production Announcer
Every year we've said we're going to do that.
Amy
I know we always go, but we don't participate.
Production Announcer
We can't do it this year because I got to leave. Yeah, well, I wouldn't be able to enjoy that.
Amy
Yeah, I don't think that I have the guts to, like, enter it and drive it and do all that without you here. So we'll have to do that another year. But, I mean, it is fun. It's wild. They're throwing candy. Everybody's got, like, a bar set up on the back of their golf cart to, like, sit and watch. It's a tailgate situation, so it's fun. You watch the one here on Sullivan's and you go to Isle of Palm and watch theirs. And then there's just like a street party happening. It's just fun everywhere. So it's a big day.

Production Announcer
We're going to play a game today. So this game's called guess that guy thing.
Amy
So I'm gonna guess the guy things this week.
Production Announcer
Guess, guess, guess that guy thing. All right. We did this with Amy the other week and it was so much fun where she, she had a lot of terms for what females deal with and things females know and I don't know. And so we're gonna go through a long list. It's a long list.
Amy
So is it.
Production Announcer
You tell us. Yeah. You tell us what you think it is and we'll say if you're close. All right. Ready?
Amy
Yeah. Let's do it.
Production Announcer
Carburetor. All right, here we go. First word. Carburetor.
Amy
I know it's in a car. Carburetor. It's part of the engine. What does it do? It's.
Production Announcer
It's controlling the fuel mixture.
Amy
What?
Production Announcer
Controls the fuel mixture and puts the gas into the car. Basic fire. Yep. Rage. Quit.
Amy
Rage. Quit. That's when your friends rage quit playing video games and throw their controller.
Production Announcer
Correct.
Amy
Yeah, I've seen, I've seen that happen a couple times.
Production Announcer
Okay. What is a rounded bolt?
Amy
Rounded bolt.
Production Announcer
What is a rounded bolt?
Amy
Rounded bolt is a bolt that's like smooth on the top and, and has the threads on the bottom.
Production Announcer
No.
Amy
Like, you know how some of them you can countersink and it's like smooth. No. With your round of vault.
Production Announcer
That's a button head.
Amy
Oh.
Production Announcer
A rounded bolt is when you, you've, you've, you've stripped the corners off of it trying to tighten or loosen it. Oh, and now you can't.
Amy
I've Never really done that with a bolt. Done that with a Phillips screw before. Really stripped the out of some of those.
Production Announcer
Yeah. What is a parlay?
Amy
A parlay is like a second game, follow up game. No, it sounds like a pirate.
Production Announcer
Like, if I'm gonna. If I'm gonna parlay this bit.
Amy
Oh, you're an add on an add.
Production Announcer
On multiple legs, right? All right. What is a bro split?
Amy
A bro split. When y' all split a tab, you go into the bar and split in the tab. Bro. Let's split the tab. Bro split. No, no, no. What is it?
Production Announcer
What is it? Tim's.
Commercial Speaker
It's like a workout plan where you separate your. Your weekly routine into, like, push days, pull days, and.
Amy
Really?
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
Dale didn't even know that one.
Production Announcer
What's a zero turn?
Amy
When you turn right in your same spot. Like you turn on a dime.
Production Announcer
No, you use this to do yard work.
Amy
A zero turn? Yeah, it's a machine. Oh, is that a lawnmower? Yeah, like the one Mitch uses that he stands on. I kind of had the idea. Right.
Production Announcer
What's four on the floor?
Amy
Four on the floor. Sounds like we're trading stocks. I don't know. Four on the floor.
Production Announcer
Four on the floor.
Amy
My mind's going to weird places. I was here.
Production Announcer
Where your mind's going. Let's hear where your mind's going.
Amy
Four on the floor, two in the pink and one in the stick.
Production Announcer
Oh, my God. No, it has nothing to do with sex.
Amy
I know. See, I told you. My mind's to go into weird places. I don't know what four on the floor is. Is it a basketball? Is it a term of like.
Production Announcer
It's a manual transmission? 4. 4 speed manual transmission.
Amy
Not at all.
Production Announcer
Not on. Yeah, on the. Yep. All right. What's a five star gym?
Amy
A five star gym. Does that have a term? Is that like a rating term for a chick?
Production Announcer
Might be now. Yeah.
Amy
Tim, so I've heard about your rating system.
Production Announcer
Oh. Oh, no, I have. Which. Oh, I know. I know where this is going.
Amy
I heard about where Tampa Tim's comes from.
Production Announcer
Oh, no.
Amy
Oh, yeah. His rating systems. It's pretty good. I won't. I won't lie.
Production Announcer
He's got one. He's got one specific criteria.
Amy
Titties. Best boobs ever.
Production Announcer
He's a tick guy.
Amy
Okay.
Production Announcer
Boobs.
Amy
Sunday boobs.
Production Announcer
Oh, my gosh. Sunday boobs.
Amy
I don't know. I just made that one up.
Production Announcer
Oh, she's the Saturday boobs.
Amy
He's blushing. He's like, oh, no, I am.
Commercial Speaker
I didn't think that was coming up. Yeah, I'm five star gem on five star.
Production Announcer
Five star. Jim is a good recruit. The best type of recruit in NCAA college football. What is blue screen of death?
Amy
That is when your computer goes to the dark side.
Production Announcer
Yes. What is 30 alt 6?
Amy
It's a gun.
Production Announcer
Hey, what is bag limit? It's in the same vein. Yeah, it's kind of in the same vein of. Of guns and. And hunting.
Amy
I don't know. Is that how many bullets it holds?
Production Announcer
No, that's when you've. That's when you've killed the allotment that the. The legal limit of what you're allowed to.
Amy
To you've met your quota.
Production Announcer
Yeah. What is rut?
Amy
That's when the bucks are frisky.
Production Announcer
Yes, that's right. All right, we got a couple more mating season, right? Yes, that's right. What's busing?
Amy
Busting with the boys.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
No gossiping. What's it. That, what's it mean?
Production Announcer
It means when. When something's excellent, it's busing.
Amy
Really?
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
That goes back to one of those Gen Z terms.
Production Announcer
What is goat the greatest of all time. All right, what is whole. What does the term mean? What does it mean when someone says hold a pretty wheel.
Amy
That means they know how to drive.
Production Announcer
That's right. All right, last one. What is a bush hammer?
Amy
Oh, man. A bush hammer. Is that a dent getter outer? No, no, no. Well, I know it's not what you want me to say. It is.
Production Announcer
It is. Ready?
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
It's a hammer with a tooth face used for chipping and adding texture to stone work.
Amy
Oh, well, the other side of your dent getter outer has that on it.
Production Announcer
Yep. Oh, one more. One last one.
Amy
Okay.
Production Announcer
And this is. This is Tim's favorite fun bags.
Amy
Fun bags or big titties.
Production Announcer
All right. All right.
Amy
Is that also in your rating system? Is that like what Wednesday would look like?
Production Announcer
Is fun bags way up? Is that way up the list? Fun bag.
Commercial Speaker
That's. That's the best type of girl.
Production Announcer
Oh, my gosh.
Amy
I like it.
Production Announcer
All right, good job, Amy.
Amy
Thank you. All right, guys, we're ready for Ask Amy. If you haven't already, please remember to hit the subscribe button on our YouTube channel. We have a fun show for you guys today, and I can't wait for your questions.
Commercial Speaker
All right, our first question's from Mindy, and she wants to know what's your guys favorite thing to do with the girls at the beach?
Amy
Well, my favorite thing to do with them is probably just to Take a beach walk. We like to start our day with the beach walk. We take Gus out for a walk. But I just like being out there anyway to start my day. Just a good way to kind of get centered. The kids probably would say the ice cream shop is their favorite thing to do here. We can golf cart down and get ice cream.
Production Announcer
My favorite thing to do is to. I got this special cart with these little balloon beach tires and I put the chairs and umbrella on there and get a couple of beach toys and. And a little cooler and slide on out to the beach and set up. Get under. Get under the shade and let the kids go down, play by the water. They have just gotten to this. We are sort of at this stage where when we first were out here for several years, they needed a lot more hands on, help them play because. Helped them understand how to play at the beach. Right. And certainly they're so small, you didn't want to be.
Amy
They're just eating the sand situations.
Production Announcer
Yeah. And if they're going to the water, you had to be there with them.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
At all times. And now they're kind of to the point to where they can play together. They can stay in the shallow. They're not going to be in any danger by themselves. We're right there, 20, 30ft away at the moment most. And we can sit there and kind of, you know, just enjoy the breeze and people watch. It's so much fun. It's my best. That's my favorite thing. It's the only reason why we even have a beach house. If we couldn't enjoy the. Couldn't do that. Yeah. If we couldn't enjoy that aspect of the beach, to me, this. This. We could just be anywhere. I wouldn't care. But. Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
Do they like to build sandcastles or anything like that?
Amy
Yeah. We've got a lot of sandcastle toys. They do drip castles, too. Where they were. They were doing that yesterday. Where they just. Did you do that as a kid? Like, you just take your hand with the muddy sand and just like drip big, big globby sand. You know, like peaks. They're doing that too.
Production Announcer
Yeah. Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
That's fun.
Production Announcer
They like to get buried. We. They want to be buried.
Amy
Yes. Daddy has to make them buried.
Production Announcer
Yeah. From the waist down. Get buried. And then you draw a mermaid tail. They like that. And then I just like to dig a big hole.
Commercial Speaker
That was my thing.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
See how far I can dig before I get tired.
Amy
It's a good way to tire you out.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
Guaranteed our next One's from Danielle. She wants to know what's the funniest things one of your girls has ever done in public? And she says, for example, one time my son dropped something in church and said, damn it. And the whole congregation, congregation laughed and horrified. So what's one of the funniest things your girls have done in public?
Amy
Oh, I don't know, to be honest. Going to Louie's and watching her, you know, throw spaghetti all over the place and slide into the. I mean, anything they do that's, like, slightly embarrassing, you feel like it's bigger than it's actually. Than it actually looks like to everyone else around you, but I don't know. So for me having to take them to the bathroom, I'm always worried about what they're going to say when they're in the restroom. Like, you have to be very conscious of what you tell them to call number one and number two, because they're going to say that out loud very, very inappropriately. The timing is going to be what it is.
Production Announcer
I took them. Amy. This was a couple years ago. Amy was gone, and I had. I had a day planned to take the girls and do some stuff. And I was really trying to make this a awesome day. And I wanted Amy to, you know, I want to impress Amy as much as I wanted the girls to really enjoy it. So I took them. They love the American Girls dolls. So I took them down to South Charlotte to that store, and I was like, guys, we're gonna go in here. We're gonna take our time. We're gonna look at everything. They have all kinds of toys and things, and we'll take our time, we'll walk around the store as long as you want. Eventually, you pick it all, and we'll.
Amy
We'll.
Production Announcer
We'll. We'll call it a day. That was part of the day. And we drive down there and we're walking through, like, JCPenney's to get to this American Girls doll store, but. And they're like, hey, I need to use the bathroom. And I did, too. I had to pee real bad. So I had to take both girls into the men's bathroom. And so. Which was a problem. So.
Amy
Which is a problem.
Production Announcer
Yeah, I'm like, all right, I'm gonna go in here. Hope there's no men, you know, hope I'm not intruding on somebody using the restroom. It was empty. So I get them both in the stall, and all three of us in this tiny little, you know, three by six stall are trying to pee. And not get, you know, not touch anything. And, you know, and, and while we're in there, men are coming in and out, you know, to pee and do whatever they do. Right. And I'm like, the girls are giggling because they can hear the men fart and stuff like that.
Amy
What the world.
Production Announcer
Yeah. And so it was a big deal and. But luckily, you know, we, you know, nothing else. Nothing, you know, you get done and you leave and that's. That is what it is. It's embarrassing as hell. And. And you don't want it to be. You don't want it to be a thing. It's traumatic. Right. For them in any way. And so that was pretty tough because, well, that's the only thing is, like, when you're a girl, dad, and you have them out and they need to use the bathroom, it's like, you know, it's a tough situation. So it's not like mom can just take them into the girl's room and go to the bathroom. So you get a little nervous about that.
Amy
But yeah, so far we haven't had anything like, totally random and embarrassing. But I don't know, pooping in the pool is probably pretty damn embarrassing. That's up there when you have to call someone to help you when your husband's not around. And it's something like that. It's embarrassing.
Commercial Speaker
Christy wants to know what's your favorite girls trip and why?
Amy
Ooh. We've had a lot of really good girls trips. One that stands out is Anguilla. We went for my bachelorette and we all stayed in this gigantic house that had like all these open air little bungalows that kind of connected with the roof line. It was incredible. And we literally just danced and played. We had a chef cooking us breakfast every morning, so we at least had breakfast. And we went out in the boats and we just enjoy. Everybody was just free. Like there was. It was a perfect group of people. Everybody had a great time. We've. We've been to Key west together and had a blast. For someone's 40th birthday, we had challenged her to have 40 shots. So, like, and it feels like, I don't know, it was only a three day trip, so it was a lot of shots for three days. She did it.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Amy
I don't know. Everybody says they kind of lost a kiddie life on that one. I don't know. We've had a lot. I dare share too many details, but.
Production Announcer
What about the one you took recently in Miami we sent you on?
Amy
That was amazing too. That was More of like a sophisticated girls trip. We all got dressed up and had a good old time. Yeah, I mean, before we were. It was just debaucherous, you know? Like, we're all wild and crazy and dancing and drinking as much as we can. They're all fun.
Commercial Speaker
Is there a place that you'd like to go on a girls trip that you haven't yet, that you would recommend somebody go?
Amy
Hmm. I have been to Nashville on one that's a lot of fun. You can. You can like, have all kinds of fun in Nashville without having to try too hard. So I would say you should absolutely go there. I don't know. Miami is good. Key west is good. Anywhere in the Isle. Like, it just depends on. Oh, I want to go to Nantucket. Key west is good.
Production Announcer
It's on your list.
Amy
I want to go to Nantucket with girls. That would be fun. I don't feel like Dale would appreciate it as much as a bunch of girls would, so that one's on my list.
Commercial Speaker
It's like a Charleston vibe type, kind of.
Amy
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Commercial Speaker
Next question is from Dom, and he wants to know what album has no skips that you guys enjoy?
Amy
Ooh, an album that we share, Ralph, that has no skips.
Commercial Speaker
Or some deep tracks, maybe.
Production Announcer
Like, you gotta listen to these. I got it. I got it.
Amy
We've been listening a lot of Stevie Nicks lately.
Production Announcer
Now, me and you will agree on this one. Hold on.
Amy
Okay. What is it?
Production Announcer
I mean, I gotta. Quickly, quickly look it up.
Amy
You can't remember.
Production Announcer
All right. Lord Huron, Strange Trails.
Amy
Strange Trails. Yeah. It's a good one. We tried to get Lord come play for the wedding, and they were on tour in Europe.
Production Announcer
Lord Huron, Strange Trails is one that I think we both agree on.
Amy
That's true.
Production Announcer
We both. But I would say for me, Amy, do you have one on your own?
Amy
I mean, if I put on anything country, like 90s country, I'm going to listen to the whole thing. Anything. George Strait, Alan Jackson. I would just listen to the whole thing.
Production Announcer
For me, the Dreamwalker record from Angels and Airwaves, that thing came out and I was. It was like, what's your favorite dessert? Tim's.
Commercial Speaker
Brownies.
Production Announcer
Brownies. Like, what? Can you just.
Amy
What?
Production Announcer
Could you just sit down and just eat and eat a ton of.
Commercial Speaker
Oh, tacos.
Production Announcer
Okay.
Amy
Oh, yeah.
Production Announcer
It was. It was like you had just met tacos for the first time. Oh. And you're like. And you had this big plate of tacos. You're like, God dang, these are awesome. I'm Just gonna sit here and enjoy all these. That was what it was like when the Dreamwalker record came out and I could not get enough. And me and Amy took an Airstream to this hoa just to hang out for a day or two. And I think we had Isla.
Amy
No, we had nothing but Killer and June Bug.
Production Announcer
Me, you, and Killer and June Bug?
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
Well, we go park it to say Hoa, and I'm like, almost. I'm gonna get some firewood. I'm gonna build a fire. I'm gonna get my Bud Light. I'm gonna sit down, drink beer. This is awesome. And I put that damn record on. And about two hours goes by. Three, maybe it's 10 hours. Whatever. Amy's like, hey, can you play another record?
Amy
Can we switch this it to something else?
Production Announcer
Like, this is the same.
Amy
I'm in this weird loop. I need out.
Production Announcer
I know. I was so, man, I was like, this is the best.
Amy
It was a lot was a long time ago. That was back when we had Killer.
Production Announcer
Yeah. Yeah. It was a great record.
Amy
Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
I have a buddy who has a playlist. He plays the same eight songs from the same generation in the 80s, and it will go all day. If he's having a party, like, can we play something else?
Amy
That's like. That's enough to drive people crazy.
Commercial Speaker
They are great songs, but after the third time hearing them, I'd like to hear something else or make the playlist longer. That's.
Amy
That's agree. That's like when someone asks you that question, like, if you had one song that you had to listen to or you only got one song or one album or one artist, there's no answer for that. There's no right answer because you're gonna go freaking nuts no matter who it is.
Production Announcer
Yeah. 100 recipe for. That's a recipe for insanity. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Commercial Speaker
Next question is from Sandy. She wants to know if you guys have ever attended a high school reunion and if you have any advice for how she's attending her first one or ten year, I guess.
Amy
But I have never. I've never attended one. I've never been invited to one. No, they have had them and they did them in. It was like a Facebook invitation kind of thing, which I didn't have, but nobody tried to find me, so I never went back.
Production Announcer
I never have either. And I wanted to. And so I actively would be like, you know, trying to find out where this information might be or who might be in charge of it or if anybody was orchestrating something like that. And there were a couple times where our class got together. And I know from a person that attended, it was like six people and they met at a park, you know, it wasn't like, yeah. In my mind, the class reunion happens at the gym, at the school. Everyone's there.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
Seeing all your people. Yeah, right. That's what I thought it would be. And I'm like, I couldn't wait for that to happen in my life. I was like, oh, man. You know, because I was this little punk short dude nobody thought was ever going to do anything.
Amy
And you didn't even go to your own prom.
Production Announcer
Yeah, I didn't go to any. I didn't go to prom. I skipped all that. I was like, man, I can't wait to go back and see how everybody's doing. But also, you know, hey, I kind of turned out all right. And I was excited to. To see people's. How people felt about that.
Amy
You know, they wanted to walk in going, how do you like me now?
Production Announcer
A little bit.
Amy
Yeah.
Production Announcer
But we never did. We never did have those, like a genuine reunion. But there were a couple times where some people orchestrated some things. I did this weird thing. Not to hijack this, but. And Amy was able to remember this probably about five years ago. I don't know why I got caught up or hung up on this, but I. I had like, a group of four close friends from high school that I don't talk to anymore. I hadn't talked to in 20 years. And I don't. They've went on to do whatever they do. Right. Some awesome, some, maybe not so great, have had some difficult times. But I. I reached out to them and went and had lunch with them.
Amy
He was on, like a reunion tour of his own. He would reach out to these people that he used to be kind of close with and be like, I want to know what these people are up to now, and I want to rekindle whatever it is.
Production Announcer
Yeah, I loved it. And, you know, and I think they did. They enjoyed it, too. Met a couple of them at some local restaurant, local restaurants for lunch around town. And I mean, I hadn't talked to these people forever. It was completely awkward. But after a few minutes, you're like, man, you remember, you know, you start telling stories about. And, hey, have you heard from this person? And all that stuff? And it starts to become a really rewarding, fulfilling sort of hour long or hour and a half long lunch. And then at the end you're like, hey, you know, I don't probably. I don't know. If we're not gonna. We're probably not gonna.
Amy
Probably not ever gonna see you again. But this was each other.
Production Announcer
Yeah, but this was. I just really been thinking about you. I just basically, I wanted them to know, like, even though we hadn't talked in 20 years and we're not technically, like, what you would categorize as friends, but I think about you. I think about what you might be doing. I remember having so much fun, and you were such a great friend then, you know? And so I wonder where you are and what you're doing. So it was kind of cool to. To do that. If you can't have the reunion, you know, as you dreamed of, a class reunion might happen in your mind or like you saw in the movies. That's kind of a neat way to at least connect to those. Those core people that were really part of your every day. That was fun. Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
I feel like guys, if you haven't seen each other in a while, they're able to just, like, 20 years kind of go back to, like, nothing happened.
Production Announcer
Exactly.
Commercial Speaker
Trait we have.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
It doesn't. You know, I have talked to you for 20 more years, but I. It's picks right back up.
Production Announcer
We were at Barcelona one day, Amy and a buddy of mine. We ran into one of my old friends that I know.
Amy
Isla was with you when she.
Production Announcer
Yeah, old friend of mine. He's doing great, but that was pretty cool.
Amy
Well, I don't live anywhere near, like, where anyone that I grew up with lives, you know, so I keep up with my, like, my EXT cheerleading friends and things on Instagram. We can. I'm dming with people like that now. And so, you know, I wasn't on Facebook way back when we were doing the actual reunions, so that's why I didn't get invited. But I'm able to talk to the people that I actually was friends with, so it's good. Everybody's busy, you know? Like, even if we did live close, we probably wouldn't see each other anymore.
Production Announcer
Yeah.
Commercial Speaker
Would you go back if they invited you to your next one?
Amy
I don't know.
Production Announcer
You have to.
Amy
I would be scared.
Production Announcer
I would encourage her to do.
Amy
It would feel like the first day.
Production Announcer
Of school, I'd go with you.
Amy
That definitely wouldn't be going. Like, I'm going myself. What?
Production Announcer
You're not supposed to take a plus one.
Amy
I think you can. I don't know if we should take you. I'd be like bringing Santa Claus to the party. Kind of feel like that.
Production Announcer
Okay.
Amy
Don't get offended.
Production Announcer
I'm not offended at all. I just say that we'll miss out on it.
Amy
What's not happening. We don't have to get upset.
Production Announcer
It's happening. Oh, yeah. It's. We've. Yeah. The. We have. We have a. We have a. We have willed this into existence. It's going to happen. You're going to get the invitation now.
Amy
Let's see how to be continued.
Commercial Speaker
That's a good way to stop Ask Amy for today.
