Yep. So today's drink is the High Rock Arena.

And you can Imagine it's. It's a little one of my favorites. Little twist on a margarita. This weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, the High Rock House is back. So at the racetrack, the High Rock House will be open to anyone with access to the infield of turn four at the track. So if you're at the racetrack and you want to go get a drink, go over to the High Rock House in the infield over by turn four. They'll be serving drinks. There'll be giveaways. Carson Copple is going to be out there on Friday evening to sign autographs. Amy and I are probably going to stop by. Amy, you've decided maybe to go this week?

And this is the drink of the week at the High Rock House as well. So you'll get to have a High Rock Rita as well.

All ages are welcome, but you must be 21 and over to drink one of the cocktails available is this High Rock arena that we're going to be enjoying today. So let's explain how you make it. This is one of the shortest recipes. 3 ounces of high rock vodka, 3 ounces of margarita mix, and 1 ounce of orange juice. You can put a lime wedge in there. I don't give a shit. You can put a grape in there. Whatever. Cherry. You can put an orange slice. You can garnish with whatever the hell you want. I don't garnish, but put whatever the frick you want in there.

You match your socks to your shirt, but you don't garnish your drinks. I got it.

Yep. Where you. You know, all of us, we just. We buy ankle socks in a batch, right? Everybody, you're like, damn it, I need some new ankle socks. It's been a while. I'm missing this one and missing that one. They get lost in. In the washer or what have you. And then, you know, every year or so, you do a sock audit where you open up your sock drawer, you throw out all the old, you get on Amazon, and you buy the new Buy a new batch. And you buy, like, the cheapest you can find. And it comes in, like, the deal of the day. Yeah, it's like $12 for a 30. And you get them and you're like, hell, yeah. New socks.

The new ones you got are, like, spongy and soft.

Yeah, they're super soft.

But, yeah, women don't do really well. I don't do a sock audit because I hardly ever wear socks. I mean, my friend, A boot only.

Situation for my friend Steve Latart told me. He was like, I don't wear my. I don't wear one pair of socks twice.

What? What?

He's like, I throw away. I wear our sock and I throw it away. I was like, really?

And so I heard Britney Spears does that with her underwear. Wears them once, throws them away.

That's interesting.

Yeah, that's. That's probably good for her.

But hey, hey. So I won't. I'm not gonna. I'm not throwing my socks away. I. I'll get a couple. Couple wears out of them, but, man, when the bottoms start to get a little dirty because I take my sock, I wear my socks outside, like at the house, Amy. So I used to walk around with shoes on all day.

[Amy Earnhardt]

I don't like the shoes in the house because especially when we had the little kids, like, they're crawling around the floor, everything goes in their mouth, Their hands are touching the floor, the hand's going in their mouth, and it's like, take your shoes off. We went through the whole thing with that. But now he's wearing his socks, his house shoes, and everything else outside, and he thinks that's a loophole. I'm gonna come in. But since it's not a sold shoe, then I, you know, I found. I found my loophole. I can just wear my socks inside.

So now I am throwing out socks quite often because the, you know, concrete outside and so forth is tearing up these cheapos. I'm getting from.

Why can't you just use your feet to walk outside? Yeah. What?

Gross. My cows.

It's dirty cowls. That's what they for, man cows.

Yeah, it runs parallel to. That's where we. I keep a truck and a car in there, too, and. And a golf simulator, but I backed into it. So it. Backing out of the garage. Backing out of my garage. To leave, I have to turn, and I didn't turn enough. I've never hit this wall.

He didn't just hit the wall. He hit the stone on the corner and chipped it. Like, it's going to stay that way. We're not going to fix this.

So I back into. Back into this thing and I'm like, how in the hell did I do that? I've never done this. I get out, I look on, I look around at the wall. I'm like, I look at my bumper, got a little scuff. I rub it. Oh, that's not a big deal. Okay. And then I looked on the ground and I saw red plastic. And I was like, holy, I've busted the tail light out of this son of a gun. And I'm like, I'm getting old. I don't know what happened.

That's. You correlate that to getting old?

I correlate that to getting old. Losing your sort of sense of space.

It looks like he backed straight out, like, didn't turn at all. Just enough to get the corner. It's a big space.

You can three point turn in this thing with a Suburban. It's not a small area. And he just rammed it.

You know, I think because it happened to Amy, it was kind of subconsciously in your mind that, you know, I better not hit this, hit the garage or.

Never crossed my mind.

I think he was messing with his phone, trying to play music or start something on his phone and literally just wasn't paying attention.

I have piles of stuff. I have professed that I can be a pack rat, and I don't put things away. I have all the intention to organize and put things away, and then things happen and I don't get to it, and then it just sits there. And now it's overwhelming me immensely. And so I have, like, Easter decorations. The sitting room in our house is still full of Christmas decorations in totes that need to be put away. But I have to pull out my El Camino to get the stuff put upstairs, and all of that needs to be reorganized. I have been dreaming about turning that golf simulator room, which is on the ground level, into just like my little own home goods space.

I do want to use it. I do like it and I do want to use it. I just. I've been. I think I'm at that age where golf. I might end up trying to see if golf might be something I would enjoy because I know it's weird. I've played it before that age. Well, I'm 50. You know that, right?

So you and your socks need to start playing golf is what you're saying.

I just feel like that, you know, all of my friends play golf and play more and more golf, and I've watched friends become golfers, like, literally pick it up and start doing it. Now. They just. That's what they do, and it's a hobby.

Well, usually people, when they retire, they start playing golf because they have the time to do it. Well, they all live on golf courses, too.

Makes it a little easier, man. But I just feel. I feel. I have a sense that golf is going to be something that I. I end up picking up as a hobby. I just have a feeling that that's definitely going to happen.

The one thing about golfing for me is the social aspect of it. I don't want to do it.

That's why everybody else wants to do it. The social aspect.

Like paper, first year cotton, second year, and so on. For those who don't know. Amy, what are your thoughts on if he should do that or just kind of do his own thing?

I think for the first few years, you can do that. And it's romantic. It's very romantic. For paper. Like, you might want to write her, like, the most amazing love note that she can keep forever. And girls keep those things. Like, a card, I feel like, is not quite good enough. Like, you need to fill in more effort into it. So that would be nice. If he's poetic, he could write her a poem or. I don't know. You probably get AI to help you. Sure. Not that eloquent. But I love that for the first few years after that, you know, it's. You kind of just want something in the moment. Like, it doesn't have to be so systematic and laid out.

Yeah, I love it. Cotton for the second year. Is that just clothes? Like, what's cotton?

We went to the premiere, we took the girls. The second two episodes are coming out today, correct?

Yeah. The premiere was a lot of fun. We got to take the girls and get dressed up and they got to do like an adult event for the first time and see a red carpet. And they had a blast. It did really well. Dale was really worried they were going to misbehave just because it was a later in the day kind of thing. But Nicole fell asleep during the actual video. So yeah, she was out. But they had a great time. Everybody seemed to really love the first episode that we saw.

I thought that they would. I was excited because I thought they would go to this premiere and maybe learned. Learn they know who their papa Dale is in pictures and stuff. And I thought maybe they would watch it and go and be enamored with it, but they weren't that into it. And Cole fell asleep five minutes in, and Ida was ready to go. She didn't want to sit through anything. It wasn't a Disney movie.

So she did sit and watch, though she didn't fall asleep. She learned something. She's never really heard him talk either.

Like, uninterested about it, moving around, you know, shuffling around in her seat and just kind of just getting huffing and puffing about it.

Ready to leave. Yeah. It was late, but it was great. A lot of people came. I've watched all of those episodes multiple times. We were involved in the editing of the episodes, so we watched them back a couple times. And so it was watching it the third or fourth time, but I had kind of remind myself that people were watching it for the first time in the room. And there. The people that were there had great reactions to it. I've seen great reactions to it at home, I mean, on social media. So, I mean, it's been good. These next two are pretty tough, pretty heavy.

I don't know exactly where Daddy hit the wall. I don't know exactly where his car came to rest, but I kind of came to that general area and I just got out. My buddies, they all kind of got out for a second, but I just walked off by myself and stood around a little bit and just looked around and just didn't even really think. I just was just there, and I wanted, I think, really to see how I would feel. Would I get emotional? Would it be too much? Would it feel too heavy? Would I have a problem with it? I didn't know if I was gonna have some kind of a reaction. I didn't want to have it in front of everybody. And I thought about it in that moment. I was like, you know, my dad loved racing here. He loved Daytona, and he loved winning there. He's proud of it. And I just had this feeling that I shouldn't be mad at it. You know, I shouldn't dread going to Daytona. But at the same time, there was this weird feeling. Oh, man. I almost hesitate to say this because it isn't gonna make any sense to anybody, but there was this really strange feeling of freedom. And I felt guilty even about feeling that way at all. I felt so guilty. I mean, I'm still in the very beginning of my hopefully long career. And so I kind of decided then and there that I wasn't going to hold anything against the track. And if anything, Daytona was maybe Even more special because it's where dad had passed away in totality, I think all four of them together. I hope that people appreciate them and I'm anxiously awaiting feedback. I'm sure there's some already on social media from the final two episodes that are available.

Yeah, the first two episodes came out first thing in the morning and people were watching them immediately. There's probably a few people watching them already, but they are good. And the premiere was really fun. I'm glad that we all got to do that together.

All right, so the kids are out of school and they are used to getting up very early. And you know, I remember as a kid getting up and not going into my parents room and I remember asking my dad about this the last time we saw him, which is not that long ago. I was like, how did you get us to sleep in? He's like, well, we just locked our door so that you couldn't wake us up, which we would never. I don't think we could do that. There's just, I'm too anxious about all the things to do that. But our kids are up at like 6, 6:15 in the morning before the sun's really even fully up. And so there's no sleeping in at our house. The rain has. The first week of like summer, it's been raining. Nobody can go outside. It's kind of cold. So the first week of summer has gotten off to like a really weird start. And Dale's like, how are we gonna get these kids to sleep in? So I'm not sure what we're gonna do. Somebody suggested to me yesterday you should just like put out the breakfast, like dry breakfast snacks so they can just go downstairs and feed themselves breakfast.

Yeah.

But I feel like with Nicole eating like a raccoon, like she does, it's gonna just result in there being food absolutely everywhere.

I don't know. This is a dumb question, but, like, when do you start sleeping in? Like, what age does do you start?

Like, yeah, like when? Because school usually that's like, okay, no school. I could sleep in a little bit. It's summer.

Yeah. I guess you have to get old enough to even be able to remember having that thought process for that to be a thing. So Isla will sleep till like 7. But Nicole is up early. And her method is. Lately she started off with just tapping me in the middle of the forehead to wake me up. And now she's rolling up and we have these really light fuzzy rugs on the floor. And so she's just making herself a burrito in the rugs, scuffling around on the floor instead of waking me up. Because I asked her to quit poking me in the forehead. It's a really rude way to wake up in the morning.

But yeah. Not sure what to do there.

Yeah, I think that feels like to me that it's to get them to wake up later, they have to stay up later. But that's not probably an answer. An alternative.

I've tried that a little bit. They stayed up till 9:30 and 10:00 clock over the weekend and it didn't result in a later sleep in. Yeah, not for Nicole.

Is there a such thing as summer bedtime versus school season? Bedtime?

[Amy Earnhardt]

Yeah. Because the sun doesn't go down as early either, so it's hard to put him to bed like 8 o' clock when the sun's still up. So yeah, that just kind of happens like a natural shift, which is totally fine. But they still wake up early even at the beach. They're up early.

Yep. They get up early. It's tough. 6:30.

Yeah. It doesn't matter how late you stay up.

Nicole's been coming into the bedroom at some point in the night and she wraps herself up in the rug and the floor. So when we wake up, Nicole is in a burrito on the floor.

It's in the morning, she wakes up. Instead of just coming into the bed, she'll like just rustle around on the floor and wrap herself up like a burrito in the floor.

So it starts early. There's no, you know, all right, you know, slow morning. It starts early.

They get in the bed and when they get in the bed where you're like, hey, get up here, get out of the floor. And then they want the TV turned on, it's like.

Yeah, they're up, they're ready.

It's crazy.

Yeah. I don't remember doing that as a kid.

I didn't. You didn't go wake dad up or getting, you know, you didn't go in their bedroom early in the morning?

[Amy Earnhardt]

My sister's kids don't go wake them up either.

Yeah, yeah. There's a. There's like they have.

[Amy Earnhardt]

They're in tune with their circadian rhythm.

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

Yeah.

And they're up with the sun. That's it.

I suppose I feel like it's like a. They feel like they can do whatever they want. So like I had this fear like I wouldn't go where. I wouldn't go to dad's room because he would go, you know, he was going to get. He would get annoyed by that.

Yeah.

Right. If he, if you walked in there at 6:30 in the morning, he would get annoyed. You just stayed in your room, you started playing or did something.

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

Yeah.

Till other people started moving around.

Yeah. You knew if that door was closed, don't even think about.

[Dirty Mo Media]

Yeah.

You might knock.

But our kids don't have that.

So how did you, how did your parents instill that in you?

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

I think if I just barged in, I would. Got yelled at.

Yeah.

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

Or they disciplined me in some way where it was like, you knew not to. Okay, I'm not doing that again because I don't want to get yelled at.

[Amy Earnhardt]

Yeah. I can't like start my day off yelling at anybody. I don't want to do that. I want to start my day off yelling at a four year old for coming in to like, ask for something to drink. You know what I mean?

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

Yeah. Yeah.

[Amy Earnhardt]

But I have a hard time with that.

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

But then it. It might not even be yelling. It might just be like, okay, I'm busy. You can go downstairs and get the drink, though. Like, you know how to do it or one of those things like that. But I don't. It's weird. It just your brain works in ways like that where you just kind of learn. I'm not doing that. That sucked that time.

Yeah. So it just needs one sucky moment.

[Dale Earnhardt Jr.]

Yeah.

Hmm. Maybe I do need to, like, make. Reconsider the accessibility of the juice or whatever. Just do that on their own.
