Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s out sick, so Amy Earnhardt's best friend Jamie Goddard takes his seat. They go way back, and in this episode, they’re spilling all the stories—some heartwarming, some hilarious, and a few that might leave you wondering how they’ve made it this far. From meeting through Kelley Earnhardt Miller to quickly becoming inseparable, their friendship turned into something more like sisterhood. They lived together, hid from Dale Jr. (not very successfully), and even had a secret name for their house’s wifi.

For $65 less per month than cable@ziplyfiber.com hi, guys. Welcome back to Dirty Moe Studios. We're here for another episode of Bless yous Heart and I have my best friend Jamie Goddard here. Dale is out sick, so we have some fun stories about living together, shenanigans we've gotten into and just general silliness. The following is a production of Dirty Mo Media. Bless your heart. Oh, yeah. This is the way it's going to be, girl. We're going to hang out. Oh, you look amazing. I can stare at you all day. Are you kidding me? I couldn't believe it. What's going on? The world is not your trash.
Brad
I slept till 2, smoking cigarettes and drinking amp energy.
Jamie
Lord have mercy.
Amy
How does Dale feel that I've taken the spot today?
Jamie
Well, I think.
Amy
Is he scared?
Jamie
I think he's a little too sick to even be aware of what's happening today.
Amy
Perfect. Sorry in advance, Dale, he was still.
Jamie
Pretty out of it when I left this morning. He's been in and out of having a fever, so been relinquished to the guest bedroom. And I've stayed away from him as much as possible, besides feeding him a little Advil and some vitamins and voodoo and all the other things and, you know, making sure he gets all of his. All of his meds. But other than that, I've been trying to stay away from him.
Amy
How about the girls?
Jamie
The girls had it first and brought it home. That's just how it happens, right? Isla's in the first grade, so she and her whole class ended up having the flu or whatever.
Amy
Are they giving him his distance or.
Jamie
Are they like, he basically doesn't exist right now? Even last night we're going to bed and I'm giving him his last dose and giving him like a cold towel for his forehead. I rolled up towels and put them in the refrigerator. I'm like, here you go. Put it on your forehead. Gave him the little tiny, like, you know, the dinosaur Ice pack we have for the kids. Oh, yeah, yeah. He had that on his forehead at one point yesterday. So, like, I need to do something a little bit better that's bigger for his face.
Amy
He.
Jamie
So anyway, I'm giving him all of these things before bed and trying to get the girls to tell him good night. And he. Nicole's just like.
Amy
She's like, what are you doing with my dinosaur?
Jamie
He's so weird. I'm like, wait a second, he's sick. Just say I love you. It's going to make him feel better. I don't want to. They don't act like that usually. So I don't know. It's weird. They don't really know what's going on. It's weird that he's sleeping in the guest bedroom and so they probably just don't know how to act.
Amy
But they're just keeping their distance. They don't want the sickness back.
Jamie
Even though they brought it, they don't want it back. Can you get it back?
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
If you've had a virus, I'm sure, yeah. Really? I don't know the rules on that.
Amy
But it runs course and then it comes back to you for sure.
Jamie
Oh, I thought once you had it, kind of like having a flu shot, like, you can't really. You're supposed to not get it. I don't know the rules. I don't even know what he's got or what they had. So that's. I don't know.
Amy
I don't know.
Jamie
But he's. He's not doing well. Hopefully he's feeling better in the next couple of days. So. Yeah, we have some champagne this morning because that's what we do. Cheers.
Amy
Cheers.
Jamie
It is our favorite thing to do in beer mugs. What have you been up to?
Amy
I'm getting over a sickness.
Jamie
Oh, you are?
Amy
Myself.
Jamie
Thanks for telling me now.
Amy
Yeah, I'm getting over it. We're past it.
Jamie
What did you have?
Amy
Just so it's weird. I just have. I'm nasally, runny nose and that's it. And I just feel. I was feeling run down.
Jamie
That's kind of what I've got going on.
Amy
Yeah. So I've talked to a few people and everyone's like, everyone has something. It didn't have a cough, didn't have a fever. Maybe a little bit of chills back on Sunday, but that's it. I went and got an IV, though. I swear. IVs or the.
Jamie
That's pretty genius. I was too scared to get that.
Amy
Involved for being Sick. The doctor I go to, she was like, I'm just gonna give you what I would give myself if I was sick. And I'm like, perfect.
Jamie
Nice.
Amy
She came in with this IV bag, and I felt better.
Jamie
Didn't ask questions. You just, like, yesterday.
Amy
Yeah, I didn't ask questions. You know this. I'm just like, oh, you want me to do that?
Jamie
Okay, sure. Sure.
Amy
Yeah. I'm down.
Jamie
All right. Just so everybody gets to know who you are, I want you to kind of. I can. I can try, but I feel like you can probably do a better job telling me how you met Kelly, because that's how you and I met was through Kelly.
Amy
Yeah. Yeah. So I knew. Gosh, I don't. The years run together, so there's that. I don't remember.
Jamie
I know you and I met in 2010. I did the math this morning.
Amy
You did the math?
Jamie
Yeah. Had to count backwards.
Amy
Yeah. So, yeah, I was friends with Kelly first, and honestly, I was just through another mutual friend. I met Kelly. I had no idea who she was.
Jamie
Yeah. Oh, really?
Amy
No. She was Kelly Elledge.
Jamie
Yeah. Okay.
Amy
I don't know. It was my friend's. It was her mom and dad's neighbor, and they all just always hung out, and so we just started hanging out. Yeah. And we just hit it off. And then as I got to know her, obviously, I got to know who she was, but I still didn't know. I wasn't in the NASCAR world.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Like, that was unfamiliar to me.
Jamie
Did she have Carson already?
Amy
Yes, she had Carson. And Kennedy was just a baby.
Jamie
Okay.
Amy
I mean, she might have been, like, a year old, and Carson was, like a spitfire. That's all I remember.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Like, she was just.
Jamie
She just came out like that. Oh, yeah.
Amy
She's been like that from the get go. So Kelly and I just. I mean, I think that's why we became good friends, is because I didn't know anything about.
Jamie
Yeah. There were no expectations.
Amy
Yeah. Like, I was just like, she's a fun girl to hang out with, and we just hung out.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
And then. Yeah, then I guess 2010 is when I met you. I remember the first time I met you. I don't know if you remember this.
Jamie
I don't.
Amy
It was Charlotte race weekend.
Jamie
There's so much about that whole time frame of life I don't really remember.
Amy
I don't remember. It was Charlotte race weekend, and I was watching the girls for Kelly, and so I don't remember if she was driving out or getting on the helicopter with Dale, but I Remember coming into the house and you and Dale were sitting by the piano or. Yeah, you were sitting by the piano or Carson was playing the piano. She was. Carson was entertaining.
Jamie
Yes.
Amy
And I was like, oh, Dale has a girlfriend.
Jamie
So it's funny because I don't remember you being there. I do remember Carson and she was this tiny little meatball.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
And she was telling me she was standing on the piano bench at one point and jumped at me to say hello. She's like, I'm gonna just be Taylor Swift. I just want you to know I'm gonna be Taylor Swift one day. I was like, I love that for you. Yeah, of course you are.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
But when I came into the house, I think that Dale had just had another girlfriend that was blonde and about the same size.
Amy
So I wasn't gonna say that, but like, the weekend before, I had saw.
Jamie
His new girl and other girlfriend, and.
Amy
I was like, oh, wait, that's not her.
Jamie
Such and such.
Amy
But I do remember Carson saying to you guys, and I don't know if you or Dale remember this. She was like, uncle Dale, you're gonna marry her?
Jamie
She did.
Amy
And we were like, it was so bizarre. Carson. And she was like, no, he's gonna marry her.
Jamie
Yep.
Amy
And she like, be bopped out of the room.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
And she was. She wasn't wrong.
Jamie
She wasn't wrong. She just foreshadowed the whole thing.
Amy
She did.
Jamie
That's kind of funny. The first time. So we used to hang out partying. I remember Kelly bringing all of her girlfriends over. Everybody was always kind of around each other. And so it's 2010, I had lived by myself up here. 2009, I moved up from Florida and I lived by myself, which was no fun.
Amy
I think I remember this story.
Jamie
I don't know anybody. And so, like, I'm moving. I want to move. I want to move closer to Dale so that it's a little easier to see each other. You at the time, were also looking for a new place.
Amy
Yeah, I was living in Kelly's pool house.
Jamie
That's right, the pool house. How did you get into the pool house to begin with?
Amy
So that's another fun story. I lived in an apartment, and it was just a one bedroom apartment in Cornelius. And then I was like, talking with another girlfriend, and we're like, let's save money. She's like, well, you should move in with me. We'll save money. I was like, yeah, let's do that. So I go to my apartment complex and give my notice because you have to Give like a six months or something.
Jamie
Something like that.
Amy
It was maybe at the time. I don't remember, I gave my notice and then, like, that same week, she was like, so I'm actually gonna move in with my parents. And I was like, what a beat. I was like, oh, okay. And I was like, no big deal. Like, I'll just go back.
Jamie
I was about to hit the streets.
Amy
So I was like, well, I'll just go back. I just told them like, a couple days ago, like, thinking it's not a big deal. And they were like, that's fine. Well, you can redo your lease. But now we're increasing because I don't know if they still do that.
Jamie
Price jumped you.
Amy
Yes. Like a couple hundred dollars. And at the time, I was like.
Jamie
No, not doing that.
Amy
I was like, I can't afford that.
Jamie
No.
Amy
And I was like, no.
Jamie
Out of principle, too. That's just so wrong.
Amy
I was like, I just told you, like, a couple of days ago. And Kelly was like, moving to my pool house. And I was like, that's bigger than my apartment.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
And I was always up there anyway. So I was like, okay. So I had moved into her apart or her pool house. And then in that time. So when you were. You're. I think your lease was up.
Jamie
My lease was up, but I was trying to figure out what to do.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And.
Amy
And Kelly had just gotten engaged to lw.
Jamie
That's right.
Amy
And I was like, do they really want me living in their pool house? Like, they're getting ready to start their life together. Like, do they want me in their pool house?
Jamie
So Kelly wasn't even saying anything to you really, about it?
Amy
She was just.
Jamie
No, she was fine with it. But it was kind of up to you to make that choice.
Amy
Yeah. But I was like, yeah, they're engaged. Like, do they really want. Like, I was like a third child.
Jamie
You're like, I kind of feel weird about it now. Yeah.
Amy
And you were looking. I remember we were in the basement.
Jamie
We were.
Amy
And we were like, dale, can we.
Jamie
Or.
Amy
No, I think he said it. He was like, I'll be your landlord.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
We were like.
Jamie
He saw we should live together, but we didn't. We wanted to rent from him. And he didn't like that idea. He felt that, like, that was weird. We're like. They had picked up. Do you remember where, like, yes. We were building Mimi's house down in. Close to Whiskey River. They picked up the house that they had down there, which was like, all the boys rented at one point. Moved it out to the outside of the property, which was great. We were, like, a little bit farther removed at our own space, so we thought. And we had cows in our front yard. Yeah, we did. Cows and corn and. Anyway, so they picked that house up and moved it, and that's where you and I proposed that we would stay.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
And he's like, I don't really like that idea. That's kind of weird that my girlfriend's going to rent a house for me. I was like, you don't have to charge me. He's like, well, I'm like, yeah, it's fine. I'm working. I'm gonna pay rent anywhere. So, like, I'll pay rent. It's no big deal. At least we'll all be closer and, like, it won't be so hard to see each other in and out of town and doing all the things. Yeah, he's not gonna drive 20 miles to see me.
Amy
No, but he would drive.
Jamie
Yes.
Amy
Five.
Jamie
He would drive five. So anyway, that's how we met was, like, very quick kind of friendship. And then we just decided to live together and then became like sisters pretty quickly.
Amy
I always say, you're. You're younger than me, but you're my older sister.
Jamie
That's funny. I'm not younger than you by much. Two years, but still younger. Well, it always felt like a good, easy friendship. It was moving in with anybody's always hard. And ours. We didn't have fights. We didn't argue over who got what in space or anything like that. We had a really.
Amy
I remember you're like, take the master. And I was like, what? I was like, you take the master.
Jamie
Like, no, you're going to be home more than I am anyway.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And it's downstairs. Like, you'll have your space.
Amy
It's a fun house.
Jamie
It was a fun house, except all.
Amy
The guys would come over that had lived there previously and tell us where things needed to be or what they.
Jamie
Or what they did in what corner.
Amy
We had a pool table here.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Well, this is where we had the trash can.
Jamie
Yeah. Nobody asks you.
Amy
It's not there anymore.
Jamie
Go home.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah. Speaking of the boys coming over, we had a routine. We both had day jobs. We would come home, cook together, and it didn't matter if we had a bunch of groceries.
Amy
We'd figure something cooked together was more Amy cooking.
Jamie
Yeah, I'd cook, and you'd taste. Even if I made. You tried something that was really gross, like beets. But Dale would try to come over or he'd text and all the time. I mean, he did not want you and I getting close enough where he got less attention because you and I were such close friends.
Amy
He would. I would come. There were times we'd come home and he'd be there.
Jamie
Yeah. We wouldn't be there sitting on the couch.
Amy
He's just sitting on our couch or.
Jamie
Sleeping on the couch. Just napping.
Amy
A lot of times he was sleeping. That's when he was nocturnal. Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
His little sleep. His sleep cycle was a little off. And he would be sleeping and we'd be tiptoeing around.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
We're like, what is he doing here?
Jamie
I always thought it was kind of funny because just the game of it was funny. But you could hear him coming out of the back gate, too. And at that point, I don't know what he was driving, but it was loud.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And we could hear the gate. Or we could hear the gate open. I can't remember.
Amy
It was. I called it the Fast and Furious car.
Jamie
Oh, the Holden. It was loud. It was. Yeah, it was pretty loud. So he still has that car, but he hasn't driven it in forever. But if we were in there cooking or. And mind you, the back part of the house, it's like a sun porch almost. There's, like, windows all along one wall, and there's a big sliding door on the other side.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And then, like, a window over the kitchen sink. So there's a lot of glass. So.
Amy
And the curtains we had were, like.
Jamie
They were just pretty sheer.
Amy
Yeah. Yeah.
Jamie
So if you're in there in the evening and the lights are on, you could see straight into the house. And if we're in there cooking, hanging out as we did, there was not really a good place to hide. So I remember sometimes as soon as.
Amy
You pulled in, like, you could see even pulling into the. Cause it was like a gravel road off the main road. But our house was right there. So as soon as you pulled in.
Jamie
You could see everything.
Amy
Everything.
Jamie
Yeah. So we would try to hide from Dale. And I remember a couple times him pulling in, and we would hit the.
Amy
Deck, like, we would literally just fall down.
Jamie
Fall down in the kitchen because they had a big wraparound island, like, we could hide from. And he'd just stand there knocking and be like, I can see you. I see you in there. I can see us.
Amy
We're like, no, you don't.
Jamie
He used to get so mad, but then he'd come in and then, like, take over and fall open my eyes, think about it. And you and I couldn't chit chat or anything if we did.
Amy
If our boyfriend did that to us, we'd be mad too.
Jamie
I know it's funny looking back, but.
Amy
At the time, we were like, ha, ha. He doesn't see us. Like, yeah, he'll go home. You won't come in.
Jamie
He didn't. He never gave up. He always found. And he can pick a lock too. He would get in that back door by the laundry room if we didn't let him in the back door.
Amy
I forgot about that.
Jamie
Y'all are dumb. You know, I can get in here.
Amy
I own this place.
Jamie
Yeah, well, no, we're renting it, Dale.
Amy
And that was one of the worst things was. Ever. Every month, writing him a check.
Jamie
I thought it was. I don't know. I got satisfaction over that.
Amy
I was like, Dale Earnhardt Jr. You do not need my money.
Jamie
Yeah, there was a little of that. But for the most part, it was gratifying. That house was cool, though, because it was out in the middle of the country. And then we had a neighbor, too, that was one of Dale's friends, was David Neal. And he and his family lived there. So they had chickens. And you used to babysit your sister's dog, which is a giant doodle.
Amy
Doodle? Yeah.
Jamie
Gracie Louis. Is she a golden doodle kind of doodle?
Amy
She was a rescue. So we weren't really sure what kind of doodle she was.
Jamie
Well, she was a great dog.
Amy
She played Tina Turner.
Jamie
What's that?
Amy
Tina Turner.
Jamie
You call her Tina Turner?
Amy
Yeah, because of her.
Jamie
Curly.
Amy
Yeah. The color of her hair.
Jamie
I used to call her Gracie Lou Freebush. But anyway, Gracie would come over and hang out and that one day you let her out the back, you did not have her on a leash. And she took off after the neighbor's chickens.
Amy
Oh, my gosh. That was the worst day.
Jamie
Straight murder. The kids, chickens.
Amy
And the kid was the. The little boy was outside.
Jamie
Yeah. He watched it happen.
Amy
And we're, like, screaming. We're like Gracie Lou very much.
Jamie
She didn't scare her out of her.
Amy
No. And that poor chicken tried to hide. And I think, if I remember correctly, like, it tried to hide and she couldn't find it. And then it, like, perked up and she was like, oh, attack. Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
That was horrible. That was the worst day.
Jamie
Yeah, we kind of felt bad about that. It was really hard to say you're sorry when the chicken's still laying in there dead and the kids crying. It's.
Amy
And the dog's so proud.
Jamie
She Was very proud.
Amy
She was so proud. She was like, look what I did, guys. I hate you right now.
Jamie
Damn it.
Amy
Yeah, like you put us in an awkward situation. They're neighbors.
Jamie
I know. I wanted a chicken coop for a while and every time I think about it, I think about Gracie Lou Freebush because Gus isn't gonna allow that either. Gus would kill them all.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And really the only space I have to put a chicken coop is kind of in the backyard with Gus with his space. So it's a lose, lose there.
Amy
What kind of neighbors can we talk about? Do you remember? I don't remember her name. The blonde haired lady.
Jamie
I don't know what her real name is.
Amy
I don't either.
Jamie
What do we used to call her? The Cat lady.
Amy
Cat lady or Kelly would know.
Jamie
Kelly would know her name. She hung out at Whiskey River Charlotte religiously and she would wear cat suits, which is why we called her Cat Lady. She didn't otherwise look like a cat. No, but like black and white checkers.
Amy
But she lived like a good two miles from us.
Jamie
She did. She lived about two miles.
Amy
And then once she realized it was us that lived in that house, she would walk. Remember? She would walk.
Jamie
She had a Pomeranian. She would walk.
Amy
That's right. She carried it.
Jamie
That dog does not need to be walking that far down the road. Yeah, she would walk and then walk down the gravel road all the way to the owl farm.
Amy
I remember that. She kind of creeped me out.
Jamie
She's not there anymore. I haven't seen her in years.
Amy
I wonder what happened to her.
Jamie
I don't know. She said that she was working for or dating John Travolta.
Amy
Working for.
Jamie
Is that right? John Travolta.
Amy
I thought about that.
Jamie
So she would fly back and forth to Florida to meet with John, which. I don't know if that's true or not.
Amy
I mean, if I had to guess, I'm going with that.
Jamie
She stuck with her story, so I.
Amy
Felt like she stuck with her story.
Jamie
No reason to doubt her.
Amy
But she was always in VIP at Whiskey river too.
Jamie
She was very nice. We chatted with her a few times down at the bar. But it's been a long time since I've seen her. It did used to creep me out a little bit that she used to walk that far. Yeah. Just to like, try to get into the.
Amy
That was crazy. Hey, everybody.

Jamie
Sims, I have a question for you. Do you have any fun IT names for like components around your house or like, like wifi? Your wifi?
Brad
I don't, but my neighbors definitely do.
Jamie
What's your neighbor's name?
Brad
It's like giggly wiggly 94.
Jamie
Giggly wiggly.
Brad
I don't know what it means and I don't really want to ask.
Amy
Don't.
Jamie
So that's the thing. You should totally ask. It's a conversation starter.
Brad
Every time I try to connect to it, it's like, what is that?
Jamie
Well, we had Martin Friedrich put our WI fi in when we lived in that house and he likes to give everything like a fun name. So it's very obvious what it belongs to. But we had him name our wifi router Jugs and it was an acronym for just us girls. But, you know, considering curves.
Brad
That's not what I thought it would be.
Jamie
Yeah, well, it kind of played into both.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And so we thought that was funny. And Martin got blushed every time he had to come and update it or mess with was funny. But it was funny. Anyone came. Anytime anyone came over to to ask for the WI fi and the password, we had to.
Amy
Do you remember that when I moved?
Jamie
Yeah. So you took the router with you.
Amy
So I took the router with me. Because obviously you moved in with Dale and you were like, just take the router. I was like, okay, I move. Move into my new place.
Jamie
Which is a condo building.
Amy
Yeah, condo. Set it up. I don't Think anything of it. I know that drugs is mine. Just us girls. But it's just a girl now. Yeah, not a big deal. Probably a year or so after living there. I was talking to my neighbor, like, down in the parking lot, and he was. I don't remember how it came up, but he was like, yeah, someone's WI fi in here is Jugs. He's like, I wonder who that is. And I'm like, oh, it's not me. I was like, that's me. I was like, but it's just us girls. And he was like, okay, sure. And I was more like, I'm standing there by myself with no one to back up my stuff.
Jamie
And I'm like, actually, it is. But, you know, I remember I texted.
Amy
You, and I was like, how do I change it?
Jamie
I'm like, you just need to lean into it, Jamie. Don't even worry about it.
Amy
I was like, yeah. So I'm sure he told everybody in our condo building.
Jamie
Do you still have it?
Amy
No, it unfortunately died. And when it did, so did Jugs.
Jamie
So did Chugs.
Amy
Died with it.
Jamie
Chugs died with it. Oh, my gosh.
Amy
It's been replaced by the dog.
Jamie
Franklin.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
Your WI fi is Franklin now. Of course, your dad.
Amy
Yeah, my dad.
Jamie
I have a strong belief that. I mean, I don't totally believe in reincarnation, but I don't not believe in it. Like, it's kind of up in the air for me. And the reason I feel validated in this comment is because I think her dog is her dad, and her dad passed away. What year?
Amy
Oh, gosh, 2006.
Jamie
And you got Franklin.
Amy
Franklin. I didn't get Franklin until.
Jamie
14. How old is he?
Amy
He. I got him, like a year after Gus. He is so.
Jamie
He's 9, 8. So. 15.
Amy
15.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
But his. He's got some tendencies that are like, your dad.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
And he's not like a normal dog. Like, you can talk to him. And he's got emotions.
Amy
And he's obsessed with my mom.
Jamie
He's obsessed with her mom.
Amy
Like, anytime he sees I say grandma, and that dog loses his mind, like, running, looking for her. I actually feel bad saying it now. I used to tease him and be like, where's grandma? Just to watch him, really. And now I'm like, I feel bad. Cause he gets so excited.
Jamie
I feel like there's two other things I told her. So we do a cheers for Tom on the anniversary of his passing with Miller Lite because that was his favorite drink. And I've teased her that she needs to put some Miller Lite down in the dog bowl just to see if he'll slurp it, which I know is not a good thing to do. And we haven't done it.
Amy
We understand that.
Jamie
I feel heavily like Franklin is your dad.
Amy
So going on that. Can I tell you, I don't know how I'm trying to think of the best way to say this. First year we lived together, so, I mean, I think it's known my dad's passed away. I don't talk about it frequently. I mean, it's not something I'm like, oh. And the first year we lived together, it was the anniversary of my dad passing. And I know that I had mentioned to you Miller Lite and, like, when he passed, but not, like, great detail. And I'll never forget that day. We were having a bonfire.
Jamie
Oh, with the cabin.
Amy
Yeah. Up at the cabin. And you literally walked in. It caught me off guard. You walked to my bedroom, and you had two Miller Lights, and you handed me one, and you were like, we're gonna cheers to Tom. And I was like, oh, my gosh. I was like that. I just want people to know, like, that's the kind of friend you are. Like.
Jamie
And we're gonna do it every year.
Amy
And we have since. But, like, that first year just took me by surprise because I was like, I can't believe she remembered that.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
And she remembered the date and the beer, and, like, that was huge.
Jamie
Well, I feel like it was the least I could do. So Dale lost his dad. You've lost your dad. I remember trying to get Dale to talk about that and how hard that was, and you were very open to talking about it. It was emotional. Yeah. I don't know. I just felt like that was what I was supposed to do.
Amy
I mean, it was amazing. I'll never forget that.
Jamie
Every single year.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And every time I see a Miller Light, I. I grew up, my grandparents drew up. Like, Miller Light's kind of a choice for my family, too. But every time I see a Miller Light now, I think of you, which is good.
Amy
Yeah. Now, you've always done amazing things like that. Yeah. Our house was either. My mom was Bud Light.
Jamie
Oh, she was.
Amy
Oh, yeah. Like, every time I went to the grocery store, there was a pack of Bud Light and a pack of Miller Light. Because if one was. Mom, that's hilarious.
Jamie
The house divided.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
Well, they weren't that far off, so at least there's that. So another thing that happened quite a bit when we were hanging out was Just being goofy. Do you still have the video from the Walgreens parking lot?
Amy
Oh, yeah.
Jamie
So we had a funny outing. We were sent to Walgreens to get pool noodles and whatever else.
Amy
I think it was just pool toys.
Jamie
Yeah. Because we didn't have any at the house.
Amy
Because I think it was like early in the year. Like it was spring and just it was like a nice day maybe.
Jamie
Listen, it's hard to tell from the video. We were.
Amy
I think we were still.
Jamie
We were hungover.
Amy
We were definitely hungover. And I think we might have still had some in our system. Well, what even started that?
Jamie
I don't know. To be honest, I feel like you.
Amy
Probably hit me with a noodle first.
Jamie
Maybe that's really likely. We had asked a man that we found in the Walgreens parking lot to take a video of us having a noodle fight with our noodles. And bless his heart. Or maybe he did it on purpose. The whole first half of the video is him just filming himself watching us doing that, just chuckling. And he's like. Eventually he's like, oh, man, I'm feeling myself. And then he turns it around and we're having a full on and we're still going in war in the middle of the Walgreens parking lot. The 1 on 150 right there in front of us.
Brad
Oh, really?
Jamie
Main intersection in town.
Amy
I'm just like doing this. Amy's jumping like a ninja and like kicking her leg out, coming at me.
Jamie
That was four kids. I was pretty sprightly. We had a lot of fun like that. I feel like that's what I mean. We're like sisters. You can be as goofy and as silly as you want.
Amy
And I feel like when we went back to the house to tell everybody we had a.
Jamie
Nobody cared.
Amy
No. They were like, well, did you get the noodles?
Jamie
Did you get it?
Amy
We're like, yeah, but we had a noodle fight in the middle of Walgreens.
Jamie
And they're like, great.
Amy
Grow up.
Jamie
Yeah. Ironic. Ironic. Yeah. So we had a lot of fun. There's one story that you've written down that you want to talk about with Brenda. So we used to hang out with Brenda, like every single Sunday. Well, for the most part it was like Saturday.
Amy
Yeah. That was the one thing about going to Brenda's. We never left hungry or sober.
Jamie
No, you never left Sad.
Amy
No. You felt so good leaving there, cuz you just. I mean, you literally just laughed the entire time.
Jamie
Yeah, we had a lot of fun at the lake house, but once you move out to the farm. It was a different story because we were all in the same place.
Amy
Oh, yeah. We were within just. I mean, like, we could walk to each other's houses.
Jamie
Yeah. So what happened with the golf cart? So I don't remember this as much as you do.
Amy
I just remember we were going for a golf cart ride, and Brenda's like, I'm driving.
Jamie
Was it daylight?
Amy
No.
Jamie
Okay.
Amy
It was pitch dark. Like, I don't know if the race had ended. Like, it was late night, and we all got on this golf cart.
Jamie
But Dale wasn't with us.
Amy
No, he was. No, I think he was at track. And so I'm up front with Brenda. You and Lauren are on the. I think it's Lauren, but you guys are on the back, and we're cruising around, right? And all of a sudden you're like, ah. And you, like, jump off. And I look back, and the two of you are rolling. And Brenda and I are like, oh, my God. And we, like, get off. You're laughing so hard, and we're like, what are you laughing? Are you okay? Lauren's like, I'm hurt. And you're like, I am, too.
Jamie
And you're like, damn, I pulled her off.
Amy
No, you talked her into jumping with you.
Jamie
Oh, well, that's her fault.
Amy
Like, you were like, it'll be funny. Let's do it.
Jamie
And mind you, Lauren's very tall.
Amy
Very tall. Like, And I was like, why would you listen to her? Yeah, she was like, it sounded like a good idea.
Jamie
It did. I mean, I was fine. Tuck and roll, Lauren. Tuck and roll. I am surprised neither one of us got hurt. For real?
Amy
Yeah. Brenda and I were like, so.
Jamie
That was so stupid.
Amy
And you were just laughing, and you were like, I planned it all. You were laughing so hard.
Jamie
Was Brenda mad?
Amy
No. I think she started cackling after that. Like, once we knew you guys were okay, but, like, we like, oh, my God, they fell off, and this is horrible. And they're gonna be hurt.
Jamie
Well, that's always the thing that's gonna get us all in trouble is if we get hurt out there doing something.
Amy
Stupid I'll just never forget, like, you were rolling on the ground, laughing. We're like, why are you laughing? Are you hurt? Are you okay? You were laughing so hard you were trying to get out that you planned it.
Jamie
Well, thank God I've grown up.
Amy
But I just remember being like, why? I was like, why did you jump? And Lauren's like, she told me to. And I was like, why would you listen to her?
Jamie
So Speaking of consequences and choices, we went to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Amy
Oh, yeah.
Jamie
Right after we moved in together. So I had never been to a Buffett concert. Bubba Brandon wants to take everybody. It's his favorite thing. Blaine goes, you and I go. And we pick up J.R. rhodes.
Amy
Yep.
Jamie
We had partied the night before hard, and I was in really rough shape. And I almost didn't go to the concert. Where you're like, no, you have to go. This is going to be so much fun. So we get in Cowboy's van. Cowboy is, like the local lake driver. And I don't know where he got the nickname Cowboy. It wasn't for me to ask questions. I just would get in the van and go.
Amy
And mind you, the van had a recliner in the back and a potty, and a potty and a potty.
Jamie
Oh, my gosh. But so, yeah, the van itself is like a monument. But we get into the van, and we're going to pick up JR who lives on the other side of the lake. And driving over there was rough. I literally.
Amy
I didn't know that you were going to.
Jamie
Worst ride. And so we get into the driveway, and Cowboy's like, what's wrong, darling? He's got a real heavy accent in, like, in a good way, Southern accent. And I'm like, oh, Cowboy, I feel terrible. And he flips down his visor, and one little packet of white powder and wax paper falls out. And I looked at him. I was like, cowboy, I do not party like that. And everyone in the entire car roars in laughter because it was nothing more than a goody powder. And I had never seen that before in my life. And so J.R. gives me a Gatorade and pours a goodie powder in it. Because I was like, I don't think I can just stick that powder in my mouth. And it brought me back to life. And so that was the first day I had a run in with both Jimmy Buffett goody powder, and.
Amy
Well, then we went to the Rudder and the Rudder. By the time we got to the Rudder, she's. She's back up.
Jamie
Yeah. The whole concert had happened. We have a great picture from that night, too.
Amy
Do you remember the. You were like. Because you were back to life, and you were like, I need to eat. You're like, I'm gonna get the burger. And I think that's when you fell in love with the Rudder burger. Yeah.
Jamie
I love a cheeseburger.
Amy
Yeah. You were like, this is so good. She's back. She's back.
Jamie
We went to the rudder before we went to the concert.
Amy
Yes. I think that was like the meeting spot because we lived so we lived pretty far away from everybody. Like it was a hall to meet up with Everybody.
Jamie
It took 30 to 40 minutes to get anywhere.
Dale

Jamie
Okay. Should we play our game? Priorities?
Amy
I think we could, yes. I'm kind of. Kind of nervous.
Brad
Have you ever played Jamie?
Amy
No. I've never even heard of it.
Brad
Okay, I'll explain it to you. So one person will draw five cards. So we'll have Amy go first. She'll draw five cards and she's going to listen from her highest priority to her lowest priority, what those five cards are. And you have to guess what.
Jamie
You just have to guess what my list is. The order of my list.
Brad
Yeah.
Amy
Oh, okay. Shuffle that deck. How do I know you didn't look?
Jamie
I didn't look. They showed me how to play earlier, but I didn't look. About to play 52 card pickup.
Amy
Here's the game.
Brad
Once you have five you like, you can read them out loud too.
Jamie
Oh, these are. These are fun.
Amy
Can I cheat?
Jamie
So it's in order of things that you like the most, the least favorite. Like, things you. Yes.
Brad
Yes.
Jamie
Okay.
Brad
So like, love to hate.
Amy
I will feel so little if I get them all wrong.
Brad
You keep going till you get them right.
Amy
But I know she'll get mine right. That's what's first try.
Brad
You think?
Amy
Yeah, like, that's how she is. She'll be like this.
Jamie
Like, some people call that paying attention.
Brad
She. Maybe she throws you off. Maybe she throws one of you call.
Amy
Me out for, like, not paying attention. Maybe.
Jamie
I feel like I am very in tune with people.
Amy
You are like, do you have a friend that, like, they know you better than you know yourself?
Brad
Oh, yeah, that's her 100.
Amy
She'll be like, you're not going to do that. Like, she even knows how to get me.
Jamie
I can order for her at a restaurant.
Amy
Order food for me. And I. Let's just say there's. I'm not big at trying new food. And I'll be like, oh, she's got four food.
Jamie
She's got four foods. I eat like meat, cheese, towards like a grain and green peppers and onions are. They're basically the only vegetables that she'll eat.
Brad
If you go to a restaurant you go to often, do they know exactly what you're getting? You don't veer off that.
Amy
Oh, yeah. Like, is it sabor? Is that how you say it?
Brad
Sabor?
Amy
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're like, hey, Jamie, they know how I make my bowl.
Brad
Yeah, I'm the same way.
Amy
Like, I eat like her children. Like, she can feed Isla, Nicole and myself.
Jamie
You have the same food groups as TJ Majors. He eats the same vegetables that you do. Okay, cards.
Amy
Okay.
Brad
What five we got. Read them out.
Amy
You can.
Jamie
You can lay them out here.
Brad
Yeah.
Amy
Clean laundry, swearing, sharing feelings. Karen's and Conspiracy theories, Karen's.
Jamie
Ooh.
Amy
So I feel like the. Are we going top to bottom?
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Top is like swearing.
Jamie
You can just put them in order and I'll tell you if you're right. When you get them all laid out, you get one chance to redo.
Brad
You can lay them on that table too, if you need to spread them out.
Amy
Okay. There.
Jamie
Okay. She's got them in order of swearing, sharing feelings, Karen's conspiracy theories. And then clean laundry.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
None of them are in the right.
Brad
Oh, no.
Amy
Oh, wow.
Jamie
You get one more shot to shuffle around things I like to. Things I specifically don't like.
Amy
Oh, well then. Oh, I was. I was thinking of it a different way. I thought I was talking about Karen's got to gossip.
Jamie
That's just straight gossip.
Amy
Oh, now I'm so nervous. Ah, just take it.
Jamie
Okay. You got the first one right. And the third one right.
Amy
Sharing feelings, clean laundry, swearing, conspiracy theories, Karen's.
Jamie
Actually, you got Karen's right too. So two of them are wrong. Oh, yes. There you go. So that's my order. Sharing feelings, conspiracy theories, swearing, which I don't love, but I don't hate. Apparently nobody likes me swearing, but it happens. I don't get to swear at home, so. By the way, that's why I swear in here.
Amy
Swearing can just be fun.
Jamie
Nobody likes a Karen I could like. I literally just.
Amy
I had Karen's different because I was thinking of it a different way, but knowing that it's Karen. Yes.
Jamie
I just remove people like that from my existence.
Amy
This is what we do with people that are Karen.
Jamie
There you go. Bye, Karen. So I like sharing feelings. I like. I don't love. I don't think I'm as good at sharing feelings as I like to have other people share their feelings.
Amy
But you're good at listening people sharing.
Jamie
I try to be. I'm not always that great at it, but I try to be. I think that that's just important conspiracy theories I'm all about.
Amy
Oh, I love them.
Jamie
I like knowing all the conspiracies, whether I can buy into them or not. I feel like there's always a little bit of truth and something to buy into with.
Amy
There's a little bit.
Jamie
Your turn.
Amy
Oh, okay.
Brad
Let's see if you could beat three out of five. Right.
Amy
Well, this is. This is the embarrassing part.
Jamie
Tims, do you have conspiracy theories? Are you into that?
Brad
The JFK one is so interesting to me.
Jamie
Yes. I've recently heard, too, that people think that he's still alive. JFK junior JFK Junior. Oh, but that's. I love that.
Brad
The whole family and, like, their. What happened, Their tragedy or whatever. It's. But it's a rabbit hole. You can get lost it.
Jamie
Yeah, that's true. There's all the. So I've seen a lot on the Internet, too, about people thinking that other celebrities that have died are still alive. Like Elvis, especially.
Brad
Yeah.
Amy
I don't know what it is.
Jamie
Yeah, you can put it back. I really want to believe that that one's true because we're major Elvis fans. Our guest bedroom is Elvis themed.
Brad
Oh, really?
Jamie
Yes. We. We. We. I would love for that to be true.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
But are you. You got two that you don't know.
Amy
Well, no, I know what it is.
Jamie
I think you just don't like your cards.
Amy
Well, no, one of them. I just don't know what context it means. So I'm scared where I'm gonna put it and what you're gonna say. But we're gonna try this.
Jamie
Don't be scared. Go for it.
Brad
Where do you fall in the whole aliens thing?
Jamie
I think they're totally real.
Brad
Really?
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
I think they'd be better than some of the humans we have.
Jamie
I don't know if I buy into that. Aliens are here amongst us because people say that or they've been here before, and some of, like, the celebrities are aliens. I don't think that that's true.
Brad
Like, they're in a human.
Jamie
Yeah, I don't think that's true, but I definitely feel like they're real. I have a Nostradamus book.
Brad
Oh, really?
Jamie
And I have looked at it just a little bit. It scared the sh. T. Out of me, so I put it under the. Under the side of the bed.
Amy
Like, I think with these. These are all, like, kind of low for me, so I don't know where to put them.
Jamie
They're all a number five.
Amy
Yeah. Not all of them, but.
Jamie
Well, that's gonna make it harder for me. This is a good challenge.
Amy
Yeah, it's four or five.
Jamie
Jamie happily brought up the. This morning that with my revelation of the clippers.
Brad
Oh, yeah.
Jamie
She was like, wait a second. I thought you waxed. I'm like, well, oh, we have a whole.
Amy
Can we tell that story?
Jamie
Yeah. I'm like, well, I did. He gotta put the microphone up.
Amy
Yeah, yeah. Sorry.
Jamie
Wait, I only have four cards. Is that over there?
Amy
Oh, got lost in the.
Jamie
You want to tell them about our wax story before we get into this?
Amy
Yeah. So now, remember, this was a while ago, but do you guys remember were you Guys around when they had Groupon. Do they still have Groupons?
Brad
Yeah, I think they still have Groupon.
Amy
But they used to be, like, released, like, on a Wednesday or, like, it came out once a week. And, like, you would go on and be like, what are we gonna do?
Jamie
What do I need today?
Amy
Yeah, what do I need? So we're going to Phoenix for the race, and we have been talking about getting waxed. And so Amy's like, I found a Groupon. We're gonna do it. And I'm like, buy. Let's buy it.
Jamie
Let's go do it in Phoenix where nobody knows us.
Amy
Yes.
Brad
Smart.
Amy
First of all, the lady was. She was older.
Jamie
She was older. She was European. She didn't speak very good English, and she was very kind, but she was not very gentle.
Amy
No, she was just very, to me, very aggressive.
Jamie
We went in one at a time. Who went first? Because I went first. I went first.
Amy
I wasn't going first. Yeah, looking back, Groupon's not the way to go.
Jamie
No, it's not. I did that with a couple of things I regret, and that was.
Amy
Was it yours? Lasik?
Jamie
No, Lasik. I actually did. Brenda took me to do Lasik.
Amy
I remember Brenda took you.
Jamie
Oh, that's another good Brenda story. So Brenda had Lasik years ago. And I've been wearing glasses my entire life since I was 7. And Dale had gotten tired of me not being able to see, especially at night when we're watching tv. He's like, this is ridiculous. Just go get Lasik. I was like, I'm terrified. That doesn't sound like anything I want to sign up for. And he's like, you're going to do it? My mom had it done, and she had a great experience. And so we set it up, and Brenda takes me down in her red Corvette all the way into Charlotte to have my eyes done.
Amy
She drove that Corvette she drove? Yes, and she drove whatever had good tires on it. If you remember, she didn't want to get paid to get new tires on her BMW, so she drove the Vet.
Jamie
We rode the Vet all the way into Charlotte, and she drove me back. Mind you, I'm in these, like, big, giant goggles, like blue blockers. And instead of walking me in, she just drops me off the back door. That same slider that Dale used to knock on. She dressed. She pulls up, drops me off. I army crawl into the house. All the way upstairs. I couldn't see anything, so I had to feel my way all the way upstairs to my bed.
Amy
And your bedroom was across the house. You had to crawl across the room.
Jamie
Yeah. So I'm in bed, I fall asleep, and I wake up in the middle of the afternoon and Jamie had come home from work to bring me lunch. It was very sweet. And she brings me a sandwich and the only thing that I ask her not to put on it is a condiment that I don't love very much. And it was covered in said condiment. Said condiment. And so I.
Amy
And I literally gave it to her and left.
Jamie
I didn't give a. I ate the whole thing. And I'm like, this is the worst sandwich my entire life.
Brad
That's the worst.
Jamie
Oh, my gosh. But between Jamie and Brenda's care, she was awesome.
Amy
You guys nailed it.
Jamie
Absolutely nailed it, everybody. But I always say that Lasik was one of the best decisions that Dale's ever made for me because I would never have done that without him getting so annoyed about my eyesight. But okay, I have. Did you mix these up?
Amy
Yeah. Because one fell.
Jamie
So you only mixed one up?
Amy
I don't know. Yes, they're mixed.
Jamie
I have breakfast in bed, reclining your seat back on a plane, Personal hygiene, rednecks.
Amy
That's the one I was like.
Jamie
And Star Trek, things you like to things you don't like. All right, I'm going to put breakfast in bed is one, rednecks is two, rednecks is two, personal hygiene third. Maybe I should mix those two up. Star Trek, she thinks I'm dirty. And then reclining your seat back. No, this isn't necessarily you. I mean, right?
Amy
Is this your final answer?
Jamie
I'm going to switch these two. I'm going to put rednecks in the middle because I feel like you. You really like a redneck, especially if he's tall. All right. Is that right? I've got breakfast in bed, personal hygiene, rednecks, Star Trek, and reclining your seat back on a plane.
Amy
You did not get any correct.
Brad
Wow. Wow.
Amy
And you thought you knew it. I'm shocked right now. You had one of them, right? And you moved it.
Jamie
That was the only one I moved.
Amy
Right, so put it back where you found it. There you go.
Jamie
Smart ass. All right, here we go. Personal hygiene has to be first. You're not a Trekkie. All right. Did I do that right?
Amy
So now you have them all but two.
Jamie
All right, well, I've put it. Personal hygiene, rednecks, breakfast in bed, reclining your seat, flack on a plane in Star Trek. You don't like breakfast in bed. Is it because of the crummies don't.
Amy
Want crummies in my bed here. Yes.
Jamie
Okay. Right answer is personal hygiene. Rednecks. Reclining your seat back on a plane. Which that would piss me off more than any of this. Breakfast in bed. In Star Trek, I like to do.
Amy
It, but I don't want to piss. The only time I ever do it is if I'm in first class because I feel like they don't get as mad.
Jamie
Well, there's way more room.
Amy
Yeah, Rednecks was a toss up. I almost put it first.
Jamie
I don't think that's a negative. I think that term is somewhat negative, but I don't think there's anything wrong with a good old country.
Amy
There is nothing wrong with a redneck. I'll be the first one. I'm from West Virginia.
Jamie
Yeah, that's true. Yeah. If there's a lumberjack listening, Jamie wants your number.
Amy
If you're tall and have a beard, that's her style. But you have to come with 20 red flags, too. These are funny. Sorry. Let me get my lady leg over here.
Jamie
Whatever. Yeah, grab your leg.
Amy
All right, are you ready? An awkward silence. Facebook, noisy kids, farting, Millennials.
Brad
Oh, this is really good.
Jamie
It's gonna be really hard. Okay.
Amy
What sense of millennials do you know?
Jamie
I'm a millennial. I'm on the Last Cusp. Yeah. 82. I don't really feel like if. I feel.
Amy
You don't identify that.
Jamie
I don't identify as a millennial. Kind of. I kind of like it for myself. When I feel old, I'm like, yeah, I'm still a millennial.
Amy
What am I?
Jamie
Gen Z? Ax. What? What went before?
Brad
Anyone know? I think it's Gen X. Gen X before, and then gen Z's after 96 or something.
Jamie
Oh, really?
Brad
I'm just on the cusp of millennial. Right, Dalton? That's not. That's it. Yeah.
Jamie
So you're on one cusp and I'm on the other end. Well, that cute?
Amy
I really don't know.
Jamie
I don't know.
Brad
I don't know.
Jamie
I don't know.
Amy
Don't look at my whiteboard.
Jamie
I can't. I ain't cheating. I like a challenge. Just to reiterate, we have farting, Facebook, millennials, noisy kid, and awkward silence. So I know Jamie does not like awkward silence or farting. Who does?
Brad
Dale.
Jamie
Dale Jr. All right, I'm gonna say things you like. This is hard. All right.
Amy
It is. Because I. I didn't even really know.
Jamie
I'm going Facebook, millennials, noisy kids, Farting in awkward silence.
Amy
Oh, you almost had it.
Jamie
Did I miss.
Amy
Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope. It's the last two.
Jamie
Really?
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
Farting is more than awkward silence.
Amy
Yeah, it was a. I actually, when I said I had to rearrange, I.
Jamie
Thought awkward silence kind of gave you anxiety.
Amy
It does. I had it last at first, and then I switched it because I was like, farting's just so gross.
Jamie
It is gross. It's like, literally, like.
Amy
It's just gross.
Jamie
Facebook, millennials, noisy kids, awkward silence and farting.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
All right, so if you're a lumberjack out there and you want to date Jamie and you don't. Don't fart and talk, hopefully you don't have a bunch of noisy kids either.
Amy
Well, that's in the middle. We can.
Jamie
Yeah, it's negotiable.
Amy
Don't forget about red flags. We gotta have red flags.
Jamie
Where do you find these people?
Amy
They're the ones that don't have awkward silence.
Jamie
I've never seen you hit on anybody. I've never seen the. I've never seen the thing. Jamie in the Wild.
Amy
No, it's not.
Jamie
You kind of do it on your own. Do you have a secret situation that you do? How do you find boys? Are you on dating apps?
Amy
No. I refuse.
Jamie
Okay.
Amy
But I am. Have you guys seen on Facebook, Are we. Are we dating the same guy? Charlotte?
Jamie
I've heard about that. Oh, yeah, you heard it. Are you on it?
Brad
I'm on it, but I know people.
Amy
That have been on it, y'all. It is pure.
Jamie
You know people that are on it.
Brad
Yeah, A lot called out. A lot of it's like, just a star drama, though. It's like.
Amy
I will say a lot of it. Like, the girls have gotten very, like, I'm meeting this guy. Anyone? Like, they're looking. They're looking. They post a picture of this guy and his first name and initial, and they're like, anyone know any tea on him? Like, go out.
Jamie
To be honest, that feels like a red flag, too. Like, quit doing that.
Brad
A lot of it's. They've been on one date, or they just match with them on a dating app, and then they post it immediately. And it's like, yeah, he's talking to four other girls on that same dating app.
Amy
It's a dating app.
Jamie
That's what life looks like. That's how it works when you're dating.
Amy
But I will say on that note, one of my friends, her ex husband has been there, like, 12 times.
Brad
Oh, my God.
Amy
And he's in racing so it makes it even better. And I'm like, oh man. And it's kind of funny when the same repeaters come up because the girls are like, girl, he's been on here 10 times, don't go out with him. Like, pay attention.
Jamie
You don't listen. It's all on you now.
Amy
Yeah, yeah. You've been told. Yeah, he's a serial offender on there. But I agree. A lot of, a lot of girls, like I'm like, go out with a person.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Get to know them before you start blasting them. Like. And everyone has a past. Right?
Brad
Yeah.
Amy
Like if you put my picture, I'm sure someone will be like, whoa, she's cray cray.
Jamie
Yeah, fine. I, I, I can't imagine. Yeah, no thanks.
Amy
But apparently they have one for girls.
Brad
Do they really? I didn't know that.
Amy
I've heard that. I've heard from a few guys. They're like, well they have one on girls too, so that one's got to be hilarious.
Jamie
Be funny. We need to look at that.
Brad
You got to go to different cities too. That I, I've seen. I have like girlfriends that have really funny.
Amy
The Charlotte one, it cracks me up cuz there's people from like Raleigh. Like I didn't realize people dated that far.
Jamie
Like people drive two hours for a date.
Brad
Some people will.
Amy
I'm not even, I'm not driving 30 minutes.
Jamie
I can't imagine like, so I always equate everything back to Texas timing. Like that's like me driving from Victoria to Houston.
Amy
No.
Jamie
For a date. No, that's a vacation.
Brad
A lot of it's like you can like see them when you want. They're not like constantly in your space. You don't gotta see them out. Like if you wanna go out with your friends. I've heard that's the reasoning. But I wouldn't.
Amy
Two hours is, oh, that's actually good.
Jamie
So like if I'm on, I can see you twice if I'm on a business trip in Raleigh.
Brad
Yeah. But like, like a weekend trip, you go, you can go to Raleigh and see them, but then you have your whole week by yourself. You hang out with your girls or your guys. Like you could do whatever and it's.
Amy
Like a little, it's actually not a bad secretive.
Brad
I don't think it's a long term solution.
Jamie
I think, no, definitely not a long term solution. But it's still a lot of work.
Brad
It's a lot of work.
Jamie
Is it time for Ask Amy?
Brad
It is time for Ask Amy.
Jamie
Sweet. Let's do it.
Brad
And we are live.
Jamie
Hey, guys. We're here at the Bless yous Heart episode number three. We're doing Ask Amy in the Dirty Moe Studios. If you haven't subscribed already to our new YouTube, please do that. And so we're ready for Ask Amy. Guys, what are your questions?
Brad
Yes, we are. Our first question is from Harper. She wants to know, since Dale was feeling under the weather on Tuesday's episode of the Dale Jr. Download, how's he feeling? And is he like most men, that he's very dramatic when he's sick?
Jamie
Yeah. So, yes, he's still very under the weather. He's been fighting a pretty bad fever off and on for the last two days. So he has been relinquished to our guest bedroom. So that I don't get. I feel like a head cold, but I don't feel as near as bad as he did. So, yeah, he's typically pretty mopey. I need you to help me. I can't think for myself when I'm sick. He hasn't actually been as fussy this week, though, as he usually is. I have fed him a mountain of vitamins and I call it voodoo, but it's all the holistic things and Advil and try to make sure he's taken care of. So he's been okay, but he's. I honestly think that he feels so bad that he can't be fussy, so he's not feeling good at all.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
Hopefully he gets turned around here in the next couple of days because he's got some work to do.
Brad
More of those mild, like, sicknesses where.
Jamie
You'Re like, yeah, mild sickness. Like, care for me. You know how most men do that?
Brad
I'm like that, too.
Jamie
I know that he's worse than the children. He even said that yesterday. He's like, if this is how the girls felt, surely they didn't feel this bad because they were not acting like they felt this bad. Like, I don't know if that's a kid thing or if that's just a you thing, but I just. I was like, yeah, sure, honey. Surely I hope that's the truth, that they didn't feel as bad as you do. It's for adults to feel so bad, not for kids, you know? Yeah, well, no.
Brad
Sandra in the YouTube chat, she wants to know how has Dale taken the girls grocery shopping yet? I think I saw something on your Instagram story. He.
Jamie
So Dale and I took the girls grocery shopping that weekend together, but he has not done it by himself.
Brad
By himself.
Jamie
No, he hasn't really had the time to be honest.
Brad
But yeah, he was looking for grapes. I saw that.
Jamie
Yeah. So lately there's no grapes in the grocery store. If I do an instacart pickup order, the grapes are not. I can't even put them in my cart. So. Yeah, sometimes you'll have that during the winter months.
Brad
Yeah. Bad season for them. Joanne would like to know. Last year, Amy, you and Dale did cryotherapy or ice baths. Might be two years ago actually. What should they try this year which has Pilates, Yoga. We talked a little bit like Hot Works was one that we.
Jamie
Yeah, so I like, I like sweating. I feel like when I sweat and work out it makes me feel the best. I did get to where I was cold plunging a little bit and I figured that out. So I couldn't do that. When I tried to get Dale to do it, I couldn't get myself in the cold water. But I figured out how to mind over matter that. But I feel like now I'm more into like that's just detox and sweat it out. And I do hot yoga every week and I do have a Hot Works account and I go in there every once in a while into the sauna and just do my own little workout. But I haven't gotten Dale to do hot yoga yet. I think he would do well. Yeah, it's not as intense as like the core workout I made him do, but he's used to being in the heat anyway with race cars and so I think that it's not going to bother him like it would.
Brad
He could thrive underneath that.
Jamie
What's that?
Brad
He could thrive like that?
Jamie
Yeah, he could drive like that and think so he'd probably do yoga pretty easily.
Brad
Yeah. Do you think he'd do like Pilates or anything?
Jamie
Yeah, yeah, I think so.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
He's done yoga with me on the beach in Mexico.
Brad
Oh really?
Jamie
It was amazing. Katie and I took him to do yoga right on the beach and it was awesome. I have pictures of that too.
Brad
That's funny. Coming up, our next question is from John and he needs some advice. He's watching his best friend's kids for the first time. It's a five year old girl and a three year old boy. He doesn't have kids, not sure if he wants them. So he has no idea what to do with these kids. What should he do?
Jamie
Has John been around his these kids before?
Brad
I think he's been around them, it seems like, but never watched them by himself.
Jamie
How many days, John?
Brad
I Don't know. Hopefully he's in this chat.
Jamie
John, are you there? John, please help us. Okay, first off, have their mom make a hard list of things not to do.
Brad
Not to do.
Jamie
Yeah, that's the best way to start. Knowing where the boundaries are is always the best way. I always told Jamie, like, these are the things you can't do. Everything else is free reign. Just make sure that they don't get out of hand. There's plenty of places surely around where he could take them to play. The weather's good, take them outside, wear them out, make sure that they eat, make sure they brush their teeth. And that's all your responsibilities are. I think it's gonna be easier than he thinks.
Brad
Yeah, you think so? I don't know. Jamie, got any advice for him?
Jamie
No. YouTube.
Amy
Take him to a playground.
Jamie
Take him to a playground. Wear them out.
Amy
If it's nice outside, just take them. Like every time I keep the girls, anytime we go to a playground, they're golden.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
Like, if you're like, hey, you want to go to the park? They're like, yes, let's go. For kids.
Jamie
Yeah.
Amy
What did you like to do? You just wanted to run around?
Jamie
Well, we were outside. We played outside.
Amy
And they like, you know, Chick Fil.
Jamie
A. Chick Fil A. All the kids love Chick Fil A. Ice cream, Chick Fil A. Whatever.
Amy
As long as they're allowed to have it.
Jamie
Whatever is not in their mom's hard no list. You should be fine.
Brad
That's funny. That's good. Then there's another one from Kenny. He wants to know, is there any advice on how to become the fun uncle or aunt, maybe?
Jamie
Listen, you're either fun or you're not. Kenny. Sorry. I think that if you are funny to your friends, you'll be funny to the kids. Fun means paying attention.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
Play with them. Play outside with them. Jamie and I have had a few conversations with being. She's the fun aunt and she's got nephews. No nieces. So when she was around all these little girls, like, all of our friends have little girls.
Amy
Yeah.
Jamie
And she'd poke at him sarcastically. I'm like, don't teach my kid to be a smart Alec. Please quit that. And I'm like, you don't understand. She's gonna get her feelings hurt and cry. She's not a boy. She was like, what? I don't. We talk to each other like that. I'm like, yeah, we're adults. So as. As long as you learn quick. Yeah, you learn quick.
Amy
How to just Play. That's one thing I've learned about all kids, boys or girls, is the. If you play with them, if they want you to do, like, they want you to color with them, if they.
Jamie
Want you to be pretend. Pretend dragon.
Amy
That's all they want. They just want you to be on their level.
Jamie
Undivided attention. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Brad
He was. He put some, like, you know, should I take them, like, mini golfing or bowling? And I think, like you said, just play with them.
Jamie
I think playing with them. Don't overdo it.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
Because then you set the expectation bar pretty dang high. You know, outings are a lot. Do that occasionally, but that's a good point. Yeah.
Brad
There's a couple people in the chat wanting to know what the surprise was from last week.
Jamie
So the surprise, which I am overwhelmed by was a trip with my girlfriends. And so we're gonna go to Miami and have a weekend away. He has scheduled all the dinners. He set up spa appointments for all of us. And it's a really amazing gift. But immediately when he showed it, he had this, like, printout of the whole weekend. And I'm overwhelmed immediately, trying to figure out what the pictures are and looking at this list of things. It took me a minute to, like, absorb it. But, yeah, he set me up with a girls trip, so he knows I'm not gonna do it. And he's like, I want you to do this because I know you need it, and I take my trip, so you should go. So he went ahead and just did it for me, which I'm really excited about. Hopefully we all feel good enough where we can do it, because he's got the kids and the dogs. Yeah. And it starts, like, the first week of spring break that weekend. And so he's supposed to drive down to the beach with all of them. Fingers crossed that he feels better, hopefully.
Brad
Yeah, that's good. That's good.
Amy
Godseed, Dale.
Jamie
Yeah. Godspeed.
Brad
Our next question is from Bill. And this kind of dates back to, I think, a couple weeks ago. Somebody asked, what title would you and Dale's rom com be? He wants to know what actors or actresses would play you guys in that rom com. You don't know? You don't have, like, a. You never thought of that?
Jamie
Like an actress? I don't think like that. I mean. So a question a couple weeks ago was, if we had a romantic comedy.
Amy
Oh, I saw that.
Jamie
Yeah. What would the title be? And we landed on Amy and her Three kids.
Amy
Yes.
Jamie
Which was someone's. But who would play us as Actors for me, maybe Reese Witherspoon. She's, like, southern, and that's a good one.
Amy
That is a good one for Dale.
Jamie
Who would play Dale? Bradley Cooper.
Brad
Bradley Cooper is pretty good.
Amy
That could be a good one.
Brad
I don't know.
Jamie
He's got to be funny.
Brad
I'm trying to think.
Jamie
He's got to have some, like, real humor because Dale's witty.
Brad
Like, you know, I was thinking someone a little red hair, too.
Jamie
Yeah. See, Dale refuses to believe he's ginger.
Brad
He's got. The beard is more.
Jamie
I think he's now, like, salt and peppery. His hair has changed colors quite a bit, but he refuses to believe that at any point in his life he had a ginger vibe. He refuses it.
Brad
Yeah. Back when, like, the latter part of his career, like, you could tell he had a little bit of ginger beard.
Jamie
His beard and everything.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
It's still a little bit.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah.
Brad
That's funny.
Jamie
Yeah. I don't know.
Brad
I don't know.
Jamie
Somebody tell us who they think Dale should play.
Brad
Dale Hoping the chat would spring some ideas, but nothing right now. Our last question is from Lisa, and I think she is talking about you and Jamie.
Jamie
Oh, it's Lisa Backer.
Amy
Is it our Lisa?
Brad
I don't know. There's just. It's just Lisa.
Jamie
What's its name? Oh, it doesn't have, like, a. Yeah, just Lisa.
Brad
What is the best trip y'all took together?
Amy
Ooh, that's hard because, like, there's a ton of Key west trips that are ethically fun. Yeah.
Jamie
I think that going to New York was probably one of my favorites, because I remember it was a special trip. It was for your 40th, and you got us tickets. She took us on a trip for her 40th, and it was Laura and Lisa and you and me, and we went to see Phil Collins.
Amy
Yes. That was a good.
Jamie
That was a good trip.
Amy
It was too short, I think.
Jamie
Yeah. We had one more day, one more night, but everyone had.
Amy
But you guys had little babies, and I didn't want to be like, I know. Take. Take away time from that.
Jamie
It was so fun. We rented a hotel room that was the size of a Cracker Jack box. We had to change. We'd get in there, and Jamie and I were, like, shoulder to shoulder, touching the walls, like, shimming wall. Jamie, Amy, bed. Wall bed. Nowhere to sit. Your luggage.
Amy
Wasn't the bed a bunk bed, maybe?
Brad
Oh, wow.
Jamie
We had to switch rooms, and the other one was, like, just barely bigger.
Amy
But, yeah, they're like, okay, well, switch To a bigger room.
Jamie
It's the janitor closet. There's no freaking way you expect people to sleep in here.
Amy
This is much bigger for us.
Jamie
That's just like New York, but we weren't there. No, it wasn't. We didn't sleep in it long, but it was impossible.
Amy
I have a video of Amy playing the piano from Big.
Jamie
Yes. So we went to FAO Schwartz, and I got to jump around. I was basically dress. The dude from the Big Lebowski had, like, this big sweater coat on. It felt very much like my glasses.
Brad
Yeah.
Jamie
Yeah. Jumping around on the piano keys. That was fun.
Amy
New York was fun. That was a good trip.
Brad
That's really cool. There's a couple people that said Matt Rife, the comedian.
Jamie
Oh, yeah.
Brad
Dan for Dale. I don't know if I see it.
Jamie
But, yeah, he's funny, but I don't know if I see it. He's a little too.
Brad
He's young, too.
Jamie
He's, like, sharp. Yeah, he's a little too young.
Brad
He's young. Maybe the young Dale. I don't know.
Jamie
Baby Dale. Baby Dale is definitely more ginger.
Brad
Yeah.
Amy
Except when he had the blonde lips.
Brad
Yeah. Josh Lucas is another one, too, from Sweet Home Alabama. I don't know who that is. Joshua Josh Lucas.
Amy
I don't.
Jamie
I'm too old to know these people.
Amy
Sweet Home Alabama. We saw that.
Jamie
Sweet Home Alabama. Oh, yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. I love that movie.
Brad
That's. Yeah.
Jamie
So that's basically the same team, Reese and Josh.
Brad
Is it really? I didn't know.
Amy
Oh, yes. Sweet Home Alabama.
Jamie
They did pretty good arguing and bantering with each other. That's basically how Dale and I talk to each other.
Brad
That's it. That reasonable? We Spetherspoon and Josh Lucas.
Jamie
Yeah.
Brad
That's who play you. But that's all we got for this. This week's episode.
