It's only natural you see these golfers mistaken the true green lawns for an actual golf course. Have you noticed that?
E
Come on.
A
No, no, I'm serious. They're the official lawn care treatment provider, the PGA Tour. So they know what it takes to get golf course quality lawns.
B
So you're saying we could host a tournament out back?
A
Yeah, I guess. We can get your own golf course quality lawn@trugreen.com true green.com let the pros handle the lawn. Just don't be surprised when golfers show up. You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Well, it was eight days after the anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points in a game that nobody saw on TV. There were eyewitnesses and radio witnesses. And last night with bam Adebayo scoring 83, I couldn't find the game. And I think late in the game Peacock did bring that game in so you could see the final seconds. But BAM Adebayo scores 83. And you know, it's, I'm not surprised somebody has scored that many points because, because we brought it up numerous times. Somebody's going to get there with the volume of threes. Somebody's going to get there and we've had a couple of players getting over 70. If you said, hey, who's the guy who's going to break the record? I would have said no. I would say Kobe's record. Wilts is not going to be broken probably in our lifetime and another lifetime. I would have thought Devin Booker, maybe you would have Luca. I mean, you got to have high volume guys. You got to have guys who can shoot threes. But Bam, an underrated superstar, his previous high was 43 and I think he had 41 at halftime. But towards the end they let him shoot. He had a lot of threes. He took 22 threes and he's not a good shooter, but went to the free throw line and ended up with 83. Here's the call when he surpassed Kobe Bryant's 81 points last night. And quickly into Bam. He's got space, head down, spins, puts it up and Bam's going to the line again. Bam Adebayo is a complete monster and
B
really get the ball into Bam's hand the right way.
A
Only Wilt Chamberlain has more points in

in association history than Bam Adebayo, who has 82. That's Jason Jackson with the call. He'll join us next hour about the honor of calling the second highest individual scoring performance in league history. So 83. He went 20 of 43. From the floor. He shot 22 threes. He made seven. But going to the free throw line, that's an all time record 36 of 43. Wilt had 28 made free throws. I think he was 28 of 32. But you know, you're looking at that many free throws and you throw in 20 some field goals. You're going to put up a big number there. Dwight Howard had the previous free throw VPNs record at 39, and that was back in 2012 and also 2013. But congrats. Pretty incredible night. You're playing against the Wizards, which that helps. But towards the end, it felt like maybe the strategy was, let's just let him go for the record. And that's exactly what his coach did. The Wizards were trying to foul other people to keep him away from getting the record against them. But Bam Adebayo, now, I don't know if. Because we didn't get to see it. Now we saw highlights, but, you know, Wilts was. Did he really score a hundred? That was in Hershey, Pennsylvania, back in, what, 1962. And no video. There's pictures. But we're like, and I've said this before numerous times, we really don't welcome Wilt's numbers like Babe Ruth. We do. Wilt averaged 50 points in a season. We're like, yeah, but who was he playing against? Well, we can say that about Babe Ruth, too, in some regards, but we don't. We're like, yeah, the Babe. But with Wilt, it's like, these numbers don't really matter. They're like, well, they didn't. You know, those aren't real. He didn't play against real guys. Check his numbers when he played against Bill Russell. I think he had 55 rebounds in one game against him. Yes, Marv.
E
But you can say that about Bam. He's playing against the Wizards, right? Really count.
A
Oh, yeah. And then you go back to Kobe's 81, and Kobe did that on a game in January and. But he said, you know, we were down big at halftime, and so we had to stay in the game. You know, that's the thing. Wilt, I think, won by what, 169 to 137 or something? Like there. There was a blowout there. And even last night, with Bam out of bio, you know, you're winning by 25 points, but Kobe said, hey, I had to stay in there. In fact, let's go back to. Do we have that? Marvin? Do we have Kobe yet? What? Marvin, we got him. Okay, now you did both of these, but if I said you could only have one on your resume, you could get the 8081 or you could get the 60 in your last game. You have to pick between those two. You only get one.
F
Oh, man. I probably go with the 81 because we were like one game out of making the playoffs that year. So we Needed, literally needed every single game to get into the postseason.
A
So if we had dropped that one,
F
I think we would have been in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs that year.
A
So I'll go with the 81. Reggie Miller and I got into a heated discussion. Like he kept saying, you're, you're going to end your career with 60. And then he put exclamation points on his text message. And I said, but 81, exclamation point. That's. Come on, 81. And Reg goes, no, 60 on your last game.
F
I'm just, I'm enjoying the fact that you guys are actually having that debate. That's pretty cool.
A
So that's Kobe after his 81 point performance. Reg and I still argue about that because I'm like, man, I gotta, you know, now that Bam is surpassed Kobe, then I might go, well, all right, I'll take 60 in my final regular season game, final game that I ever played. All right, we'll come up with a poll question. Play of the day, stat of the day. All of that forthcoming, the Max Crosby trade reversed. And I don't think I can overstate how devastating I think this is for the Raiders. They were going to get two first round draft picks, one this year, one next year. Plus their philosophy and free agency probably was, you know, banking on the fact they were getting rid of Max Crosby and his contract and going to the Ravens. So they were had a different philosophy here, who they were going after, how much money they were going to spend. But the Ravens said, hey, didn't pass our physical and we're sending him back. This has happened before now. It's happened in other sports. Remember Carlos Correa with the the Mets, Mark Williams, the Hornets, he was going to go to the Lakers. But in the Ravens have done this before. Now these weren't big names. Ryan Grant in 2018 failed a physical. 2020, Michael Brockers had an agreement with the Ravens, but they were concerned about his left ankle and that deal fell through as well. I'm just surprised that the Ravens said, oh, you know, upon further examination, you know, maybe there's long term damage in that knee because it was a torn meniscus. And then they said, because it's going to take time for that to heal. That was what was surprising. Now I'm sure the Raiders doctors said, you know, he's good to go and then you trade him. And then the Ravens doctors said, no, we don't like, looks like there's more damage in there. So now the Ravens could be in the market. For Trey Hendrickson. Now what do they do? And then the Raiders. Are you going to get dollar for dollar for Max Crosby now if he's damaged goods, I mean, this is devastating, I think, for the Raiders because Max Crosby is making over $30 million for this year and next year. Can you trade him? But what are you going to get in return? And I think that's the interesting part of this, that if he's viewed as damaged goods, then you're not going to get two first round draft picks. But Max Crosby headed back to the Raiders. Yes, Paulie,
C
Right on cue. Dan, from Adam Schefter. Moments ago, the Ravens and Trey Hendrickson reached an agreement on a four year, $112 million contract. Just came through minutes ago from Adam Schefter. All right, that's a pivot.
A
Yeah, I thought this was going to happen. Diana Rossini, who's covering the NFL for the Athletics, she'll join us a little later on. Yeah, that one's, that one's devastating for the Raiders because it felt like, okay, we can move on. Max can go play for a team that can compete for a Super Bowl. We're not ready. We got a couple more years here. We can get our center, we got Mendoza, get a couple more offensive linemen, get a couple of wide receivers. We can be respectable this year. But now you have the Max, Max Crosby. Now I have to, you know, probably walk back my words of the Raiders tanking if it's true that, you know, this knee injury was far more serious than what we're leading on. But Max Crosby did have surgery. I think he knew he had to have surgery, but it's a torn meniscus. You can play through that. He can. But that's where you had this falling out between him and the Raiders front office because he wanted to play those last two games and that it felt like we're going to sit you down because the last thing we want to do is win another game. Now, looking at that knee and I don't know how many knee surgeries he's had, but if they're saying that, you know, could be long term damage in there, then it doesn't sound right. But, you know, the Ravens have every right to be able to do it. It's like, yeah, we're bringing him in. And that change, look at free agency. It felt like a lot of dominoes fell after Max Crosby went to the Ravens.
C
Yeah, Paul, I'd really love to know the timeline of this. Did the Raider, the Ravens, when did they know they were Going to move on from Crosby. And when did they kick the tires on Hendrickson? Did they think maybe a buyer's remorse situation where, oh, we can get Hendrickson for the same price and not give up draft picks. I'm curious how the timeline played out in the past 24 hours with all that.
A
Oh, I understand what the Ravens did. Makes more sense, knowing the Ravens with their draft picks. They don't give up draft picks. Certainly one in the top 15. And you're going to get Trey Hendrickson. Okay. He's not Max Crosby and you're going to bring him in. You're going to have to pay him and it's a longer, you know, contract there, but you get to keep your draft picks. Yes.
B
Man, that is a tough situation for Max Crosby, though, now. I mean, his value has plummeted.
A
Yeah. Because I would lowball the Raiders now. Now I give you a first and maybe I give you a third or something if that. Now, I don't know if the Cowboys see, I don't know how this works with Rashawn Gary, who came over from Green Bay to Dallas. Now, it's not official yet. Could they then say, hey, you know what, we're going to rescind that trade? Like, it's not official yet. You're just agreeing to it to a trade. I don't think there's anything in writing, but can you until after like 4 o' clock today? Could they then go, hey, let's go after Max Crosby? I mean, if I'm Dallas, I would do that if I thought Max Crosby was going to be healthy enough. But the fact that now the Ravens have put that out there that, you know, he could have long term durability concerns. That's the language that I was given. Long term durability concerns. All right, Seaton poll question today. What are we going to go with? First hour.
B
I appreciate their concern on long term. You know, their, their concerns about how he's going to hold up over the long term. Because that's one thing that NFL teams do, is they really hold on to their players for a long time.
A
Yeah. Are they worried about him in his 50s?
B
Yeah, we're just not sure because we were planning on cutting them after the third year, but now it looks more like a year two cut to save money.
A
So that's a little too long term for us. Yeah, we're concerned about how he's going to be walking in his 50s.
B
Long term. You know, durability here.
A
What is long term? Is it three years, two years, two and a half. Yeah. All right. So what's first hour poll question?
B
I think you're gonna find that out after the break.
A
Oh, okay. All righty. Paulie, Famous for the after the break poll question.
B
I got the the dolphin symbol from him which is the looks like a dolphin jumping out of the water.
A
Over.
B
After the break.
A
After the break. We'll jump the shark after the break. We'll get to your phone calls. Coming up, Jason Jackson, he is the voice of the Miami Heat and he'll join us top of next hour. Diana Rossini, more on the Max Crosby situation. Our good buddy Ross Tucker has some thoughts on the Max Crosby situation as well. And Team usa, Team USA is going to be an anxious spectator watching Italy and Mexico coming up tonight and their hopes of moving on in the WBC will hinge on that. We'll talk about that coming up. Nobody really prepares you for this part of life. When I had some guests stay with me recently, I realized I was missing a few key essentials. I hate when that happens. Really? No more paper towels. Down to the last pigs in a blanket. So soon? I didn't want to interrupt our time together by running to the store or give off the impression that I was unprepared for my guests. Moments like that are a perfect example of how everyday life can surprise you. Some days go as planned, and other days, well, life throws curve balls. It's not always convenient. That's why I went straight to Amazon. Amazon helps make it easier to manage both the routine and the unexpected. Pacific Italy helps out USA Basket Baseball as they advance. By the way, the breakdown of players on Team Italy who were born in Italy. Todd, do you want to guess how many of Team Italy were born in Italy?
G
I'm gonna say 6.
A
All right, Seaton.
B
I'll be more optimistic. I'll say 10.
A
All right, Marvin. 4. All right, Paul.
C
7.
A
3. 3. Stat of the Day Stat of the Day. Of the day. Stat of the Day. Here comes. Brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the DP show 24 from the United States, three from Italy, two from Venezuela and one from Canada. And Team USA benefits because now you have the elimination round. You have Team USA facing Canada tomorrow night. Italy plays Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
C
Yes, Paul, Dan, just to be balanced, I've got USA's baseball roster here, zero players from Italy born on our roster. Zero.
A
Yeah. Suit.
B
Does it take away from the World Baseball Classic that it's basically just Americans going by their nationalities? Like, where's Ireland out there? Can we get it? Can we field a team of Irishmen?
A
Soccer does this, doesn't it, with the World Cup?
B
I guess I think you have to be a citizen. So I'm guessing that everybody is a citizen of the teams that they're playing for.
A
Like, you could have dual citizens, dual citizenship, Right? Right.
B
I'm assuming that that's the case, but I don't know.
A
If I was from the United States and I played for Italy, I would demand that I get dual citizenship. I think you gotta give me something other than the opportunity to play in the World Baseball Classic. But it's been fun. I've watched a whole lot more than I thought I was going to and watched Italy. Now I'd have to go to my 23andMe and look at that and see who I would play for.
C
How many options would you have?
A
Well, I think I've got a Great Britain. I could probably play for Great Britain. Ireland, Wales, Scotland. They're not playing baseball. I got the 1 1/2% eskenazi. So team Israel, there you go. We'll take you. All right. There's like 1% West Africa. So I don't. Do they. Did they have a team? I'm not quite sure. You start to look at your 23 and me and you go, I got some questions about, you know, whatever happened down through the years here. How do we get, you know, some of these countries in there? The 1%, 2%.
B
Yes, that's my 23. Me was arguably. It was simultaneously great and the most boring of all time because it was like 99.9%, you know, English or, you know, Irish, UK, British, like, whatever. It was all concentrated right there.
A
But you'll get those stragglers, like that one and a half percent, and you're like, what happened here? But mine was a little more interesting than I thought it was going to be, because I thought it was going to be all, you know, the emerald aisle. But turns out that there were some. Some rogue percentages in there. All right, so Team USA gets Canada on Friday night, and Italy moves on to take on Puerto Rico. A couple of college basketball notes. You had McNeese, not McNeese State anymore. Lehigh in Idaho. They get their tournament bids. Bobby Hurley's out at Arizona State. Syracuse has a job opening. And I'm thinking Jerry McNamara now, he's got a tournament bid with Sienna. And then after that, then he takes the 2 hour and 15 minute drive from Siena College to Syracuse to take over at his alma mater. What about Bobby Hurley joining Danny Hurley at UConn? Could you imagine him as an assistant coach there? They were. They were on the same team, right, Marvin? Does that sound right?
E
It was correct.
A
Bobby and Danny. Yeah.
D
Yep.
E
Years ago. I think they were both coaches on the same. Same team.
A
But was Danny with Bobby at Buffalo or was it Wagner?
C
Bobby Hurley was with Danny Hurley for two seasons at Wagner College and one season at University of Rhode Island.
A
Oh, okay. Yeah. So Bobby Hurley is out at Arizona State. Here's another thing. The same year Indiana football wins the national title, the basketball team goes 18 and 14. Lost to Northwestern yesterday by 13 to get knocked out of the Big Ten tournament. Indiana is a football school, much to the chagrin of the state. That's a basketball state. But for Indiana basketball, like 15, 20 years ago, this would be a huge deal if this happened to Indiana basketball. Now, when's the last time you talked about Indiana basketball? When's the last time they had a player that you talked about with Indiana basketball? That's what's pretty surprising here. NFL free agency slowing down. Although you still have Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray is going to be probably visiting Minnesota or might be a zoom call based on what Ross Tucker was talking about, that Kyler Murray wants to know after this season, if I have, you know, if I'm correctly reading what Ross Tucker was saying, that, hey, I'm going to go and play for one year. I want to know who's going to be interested in me after this. If that's what Ross Tucker was actually describing, that maybe I go to Minnesota, I want to know, is somebody, you know, looking at me long term, that he has three to five zoom calls that coming up this week, which is kind of surprising. I don't know why I would tip my hand and say, hey, we'll be interested in you in a year from now. I mean, in the NFL at that position, things change. Daniel Jones got paid $44 million a year. The new Kirk Cousins in the NFL, and good for him. I was surprised at that amount. But Daniel Jones was a thing there for about 10 games and then not a thing after that. Yes.
B
He's going to end up making just an unbelievable amount of money.
A
Yeah. Can we do career salary game with Daniel Jones?
C
Can with this contract or without?
A
With this contract?
C
Salary,
A
salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary. Celery. Celery. Celery. Celery.
C
Here we go. Two part game. Daniel Jones, how much has he made and will he make after this contract based off the minimum he can make. What has he made already? A little hint. In 2023, he made $46 million with the Giants. What has he made so far?
A
Let's just combine it, okay. Yeah, let's make it easier. I don't know if it's easier, but make it just one total. Todd, you want to throw out Daniel Jones will make after this contract. How many millions of dollars?
G
227 million?
B
I'm gonna say 253.
A
Marvin?
E
281.
A
I'm gonna go 239. 5.
C
Throwing in the 5. $158 million.
A
Oh, dang.
B
I was close.
C
Yes.
A
All right. Congratulations. Congratulations. Seaton.
B
Thank you.
A
Let me see the NFL 5 million
B
difference that I was off by the fire. I get then that you win that Daniel Jones owns that owes that to me.
A
NFL's looking at the night before Thanksgiving, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, when there's three games on Thanksgiving and why not cram another one in there now? Social media was like, oh, you know, I don't like this at all. And. But you're still going to watch it. Like it. The NFL, you can't deny, like, there's other sports or other events where you go, I'm not going to watch it. It's the NFL you'll watch. What else is going to be on. You're going to be maybe going to the bar. Usually people on that Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, coming back home, and you get together with, you know, former classmates, but you're going to have a game on, and that's what they're looking at Wednesday night, the night before Thanksgiving. I keep wondering, what is the downside? I. I don't know if there is, because you're going to. They have you. It'll be fantasy, it'll be gambling, and it'll be. Nothing else is on. And you'll watch. Yes. Todd, wasn't.
G
Isn't there something to be said? Remember the days of, like, you're waiting once a week your favorite TV show is on, and that's. That's the big day and you can't wait. And they have a tease at the end and you. And there's something that builds up as opposed to, you know, just having it every day. When that take away some of.
A
Would you want to go back to 1985 when there's two games, maybe three games available?
G
I'd like a few more than that. But I think we're getting to an oversaturated point. I think. I think that hurts the NBA. It's definitely hurting mlb. And I just.
A
It's.
G
There is such thing as too much of something. I believe that.
A
Okay, but how much is too much?
G
That's what has to be figured out. But I don't think we need the NFL every single day. As much as we all love the NFL. You know, I wouldn't mind, like a day or two break between trying to keep track of all the games.
A
There's no Tuesday games, but once they
G
do, once they get Thursday and they just. They keep pushing the envelope and, you know, I don't see a need for like, trying to see if every day of the week there could be at least one NFL game.
A
So if the. If the Broncos play Wednesday night, it's
G
the Broncos, I'll watch that. I don't know if I'm necessarily watching Saints, Falcons game on Wednesday night, but if that's the only game that's on, that's how they get you. They have the standalone game, so you end up watching anyway.
A
Yeah, I don't think people tune out or turn away. It's the NFL. You know, as long as the product is good, entertaining, interesting, then people are going to watch. Even if it. You don't. You don't bet on the game or you don't have fantasy attached to this. Yes.
B
Yeah. I mean, I'm kind of along the same lines as Todd where I do. I do think that we don't need the NFL almost every night. I think that there's probably room for everything else. And I think it's. I'll always watch my team, and I'll always watch what the important games are. But it becomes less likely on that. Yes. Say that we add a Tuesday game, a Wednesday game, whatever. Even Thursdays. I'm kind of like, unless it's a team or a game that I'm really interested in, I'm not watching.
A
Yeah. But I think we're different because, you know, I think younger fans probably are betting on the game and they probably are doing fantasy. We're not doing either. Therefore, you're watching these games. And the number of people that I'm around, younger people who say, hey, I gotta have a reason to watch this game, and they want to put money on it. That's not us. I just think that, you know, they have you. You'll watch the game. For the most part, I'm with you on Thursday night. It's like, I don't like Thursday Night Football. I don't think the quality has been good. I don't think it's fair to the players. I hope they don't do Friday, hope they don't do Saturday. But they, they, the NFL wants to push that. They want to push it out to the world and it's like they take us for granted. Now the expansion is, you know, global. Everybody's going to be playing a game outside the United States. Yeah.
C
Paul, I went back and looked at the Thanksgiving eve schedule for last year, 2025. There is no football on college or pro, obviously, but there was a triple header of NBA games. Three games between 5 and 10pm and the NBA started this. The first ever, ever NBA tripleheader was last year on Thanksgiving eve. I looked at the networks and it was all like packaged shows, not traditional network shows like pre Thanksgiving type shows, holiday type fair and the NBA.
A
Every time they must turn around, they go, wait, what's the NFL doing to us? Yeah, Christmas Day, the night before Thanksgiving. Yeah. Seaton.
B
Yeah. I think it's interesting that you're just talking about how young people need a reason to watch the game and, and that reason more often than not currently is gambling. That would be the sign of not having a good product though, if you need a reason to watch the game other than it's just a good game. But oh, well, I have money riding on the game, so now I have to watch the game. That would, that would indicate to me that the NFL product is not good because unless you're gambling, then you're less likely to watch it.
A
Well. And they don't grow up as fans of teams nowadays you grow up as fans of players because you're in fantasy. I don't know, loyalty wise, if you're watching games, how many games you watch? I just know in my family with my kids, it's, oh, I'll watch the packers game. Oh, they don't gamble, but they have fantasy. So you might be watching it that way. But for us it's different. I mean, I probably watch more football because I'm not gambling or not doing fantasy because I had a hard time when I was gambling watching those games. And I watch, I watch Red Zone now. I'll watch the big game, a full game and then I'll watch red, red Zone. But I think, you know, kids nowadays, you know, attention span, hey, I got something on it. My fantasy team, it's just different than us. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Joining us now, the man of the hour or hours. He is the man who is the second most points in NBA history in a game. Bam Adebayo joining us on the program. Bam, thanks for joining us. What part of your body hurt the Most after the 83 point game?
F
Oh, the arms for sure. Just the shoulder from shooting. Yes,
A
you got to ice down the shoulder like a pitcher does after, you know, throwing seven innings.
F
Yeah, I had to get in the ice bath. And really
A
what did you think pre game? Did you think anything pre game differently than any other game you've had in your career?
F
I knew we needed to win that
A
game
F
because we've, we've been in this playing situation for the last three, four years and going into the game, you know, we got most of our starters out. Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell, Tyler Hero, Khalil Ware. So it's only two starters in our benchmark, basically, and we know how those games can get because we're the Miami Heat. We've beaten the number one teams in both conferences, but we've also lost to both of the worst teams in both conferences. So you can see how that game can be tricky for us, and we just needed to win.
A
Why does it feel like people want you to apologize for scoring 83 points?
F
Probably because I wasn't. I wasn't part of the agenda. You know, it wasn't. It shocked the world because it wasn't somebody who they glorify as a score as somebody who can get that record. And I feel like that's what shook the world. And also, they're gonna say that I shot X amount of free throws.
A
But once you realized that they were going to foul you, that that became the offense, you're just like, they're gonna foul me. So I'm. I'm gonna take advantage of this.
F
It wasn't even. They were gonna foul me. It was more so like, I'm being aggressive. I'm trying to get. I'm trying to. I'm trying to score buckets. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get buckets. It's not. And they just kept following me. Like I said, there were no other of my starters out there, so it was just me.
A
When you got to 81, what were you thinking?
F
I gotta make these next two free throws because if I miss him myself.
A
But no thought of Kobe, who was one of your idols, did you ever think of stopping at 81?
F
No. Because I know if it was the other way around, Kobe would have been like, I'm shooting for whatever I can, like. And to be in the conversation as your idol is what, to me makes. Gives me one of those things where I'm appreciative of it because it's my idol. It's somebody who I grew up watching the game, like, I grew up watching him, like, understanding what he stood for. And that man was. He will tell you, I'm chasing Jordan. Whatever record he's trying to get, I'm trying to break it. And obviously, you know, I. I got the opportunity to do that.
A
And I think because people love Kobe so much, that bothered them more that who were you to do that to our Kobe? And here he is, your idol. And I just. And you're right. There's no way Kobe would say, hey, you got to 80 one stop. He'd be like, no, keep going go for 90 if you can. I mean, that was his mentality.
F
Exactly. And like I said, if the dead could talk, I will. I'll firmly believe he'd be like, congratulations, young fella. Like, you did some. I thought nobody could. Could even reach for the next 40, 50 years.
A
You remember the first time you met Kobe?
F
Never met him. That is the other thing.
A
Never met him.
F
Never met him. So that is. That is another reason why it's so special to me, because I never got to meet him. Like, the one time I thought I was gonna meet him was. It was my first All Star. I was like, if I make All Star this year, I might get to meet Kobe. And then obviously, the. The tragedy happened. And I remember where I was. I remember just sitting there and just started crying because I was like. I was like, bro, like, you know, from. From a. From player standpoint, you know how we all appreciate that, man, for what he's done for the game, for. For what he's done for people's mentality. To him, creating a mama mentality was like, keep pushing forward. So I was heartbroken because I was like, I really wanted to meet my idol at some point.
A
Talking to Bam Adebayo, fresh off 83 point performance. Well, I mean, last night, you only got 21. I mean, what happened?
F
Trying to figure out how you can redo something like that. That's hard to. It's hard to keep up. And nobody talks about next game. Because it's funny, because when I go back and look at what he did afterwards, he also had the same type of game. Like, it was. Like, it wasn't 81.
A
Yeah, he had 30. How important was it to have your mom there, man?
F
To have my mom there, to have my people there, to do it at home, in front of our home crowd. It's a moment none of us will ever forget. And to be there, to be in the building, to have my mom there, like I said, like, she's my pride. Endure a lot of this. I do for her and for her to, you know, see that her son put himself in history. I know she's full of joy, and that's something she'll always talk about.
A
What does your girlfriend do better than you on the basketball floor? Asia Wilson?
F
Everything.
A
Everything.
F
You know, she can do literally anything. And also, having her in the building was special because she was mad because I got my 10,000 points while she was on her tour. And obviously, to do that while she's sitting courtside was a special moment for us.
A
I think her career high is 53.
F
That's a lot of buckets still.
A
But, like, let's be honest. I think I could get. I think I get 10 points off the Wizards.
F
Listen, like I said, everybody wants to be mad at me.
A
No, no.
F
Be mad at their coach for. For not doubling me when I had 30 and a quarter.
A
You know, my. My problem with this, and I keep telling people in my audience, you had 60 after three quarters, nobody was complaining about how you were playing or they were playing. Then all of a sudden, it's like, oh, you know, he's embarrassing, or they're embarrassing the game. I said, what happened the first three quarters when you put up, what, 64 points? I mean, that's what people have to. You know, let's look at the entire game, not just the last five minutes, where it got a little silly or got out of hand. How do you respond?
F
And also, their coach started following my teammates, so I couldn't. I couldn't shoot free throws. So it wasn't like. It was just like, oh, the Miami Heat are just the game away. That's not what it was. It was also them being, like, in order for Bam not to get this record, just gonna file his other teammates when they touch the ball. That's unethical. Basketball to me is like, whatever y' all want to call it. But, yeah, people are gonna try to. What I did out there was special to me. And everybody who knows, like, how hard I work behind the scenes, like, to see me put on that type of performance to have 64¾ is insane. And the thing that people forget, like, they cut the lead to, like, 11 in the fourth quarter. So it wasn't like we were up 30 the whole quarter, where everybody's just saying, oh, they were up 30. No, they cut the lead to, like, 13 to 11 at one point in the fourth quarter. So I had to play. And because nobody watches us until that moment, we've had 20 point leads in the fourth quarter and lost the game. What do y' all want us to do?
A
The uniform go to the hall of Fame?
F
Not yet. It's on the way, though. It hasn't got there yet.
A
Wait, what are you. What are you waiting for?
F
I mean, I got. I gotta ship it, Dan. I mean, what you want me to do? We still got the game. Play
A
you can. That's not a big deal. You got people. You got people who have people who can do this for you. Don't give it back.
F
You're right.
A
Right.
F
It was just a special moment.
A
By the way, I Have Kobe autograph jersey. And I have your autograph jersey.
F
Really?
A
Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Didn't even know yours. What? You didn't know if I knew who you were?
F
Yeah, man. You know, it's just.
A
Bam. I'm a baller.
F
So what's your career high then?
A
36.
F
Listen, it's a lot of people. I credit that. It's a lot of people that's never scored 36 before.
A
But that was before the three point shot, so let's tack on 14 more. So probably a 50 burger.
F
I respect it.
A
I'm kind of. I was kind of like Tyler hero before. Tyler hero.
F
Oh, you were a bucket getter, huh?
A
Yep, that's what I was. Yep. That's what the ladies called me. Bucket getter.
F
Bucket getter.
D
All right. Okay, then
A
don't leave me open. Bam. That's all I'm going to say. Do not leave me open. Problem is I couldn't get open. But if you did leave me open, I was going to make it. I'm not going to pass. I'm not playing defense. I'm just letting you know.
F
Okay. Okay.
A
Yes. That's it. It's all I'm gonna do. How mad is Tyler Hero that you got the record and you know, that seemed like he would be a guy who would be able to get 83. He's got to be upset.
F
Honestly, man, I think all my teammates was happy for me because, like I said, performances that we as the Miami, he haven't seen, like, as much as we want to talk about all the greats that's been there, like, it was something that, like, people weren't prepared for.
A
Yeah. And.
F
And that's why I think a lot of, like I said, I think a lot of people are shocked by it because I wasn't the quote unquote, anointed one where they was like, he can be the one to do it.
A
By the way, you play the Wizards April 4,
F
I probably will get triple team when I touch the ball. That probably will happen.
A
You know what? You could get 50 against the Wizards the next time, and it might be a subpar performance.
F
Yeah. People are going to call me trash If I get 50,
A
man. Be proud. You have every right to be proud. And it was an incredible performance. And I don't care who you surpassed, you still put up 83. And you're right. Kobe probably say, you go, man, you go. Don't stop at 83. But congrats.
F
I appreciate that. Damn, man. Congrats on your 36 too. With no 3 point line thank you. 36, 3 point line is a lot of buckets.
A
Yeah, that's.
F
That's tough.
A
32 minute game. So I'm basically at more than a point a minute.
F
Listen, you're in the history book, Stan. Listen, I'm rooting for. You're in the history.
A
This. This is about you. It's not about me. Any other day, any other week, it's about me. This. This is about you. But congratulations. Us is.
F
But
A
thank you. Bam.
F
Thank you.
