A
Week 16.
C
No thanks. But week 16 started with a bang, dude. And Rich, unfortunately for you, both teams didn't lose.
B
But, but, but the best thing happened for the 49ers because they now control their fate.
C
How insane is that, right?
B
Yeah.
C
Good for you, Rich. You got good news. Meanwhile, I got a leak in my bathroom and it's going to cost me another $30,000. And we hit the over. Oh, yeah. And we be rocking out Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. The weekend is here. Happy, happy holidays. And I hope you're having a Sam Darnold Seattle Seahawks sort of Friday. Man. Props to Dan Beyer and all the Seahawks fans. Props to Sam Darnold. Zero to hero. We gotta add him to that. Maybe even number one on that list of guys who just turned it all around and deserve all the props and respect in the world. Plus Rich's big TV game of the week. We play Brain Wave, the most interactive, most inclusive, most awesome game that's sweeping the nation. If you want to watch what you hear, Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. Plus, we get you ready for the weekend for the fight tonight. Weekend hobnobbin. What to watch in the world of sports and entertainment. Emphasis on the taintment. What's up, Dicky Doodle Davis?
B
I was, I was texting Dan Byer last night. The great Dan Byer about those kissing ass. No, I'm, I'm. You know, I always wanted to be a Rich Davis guy. Why you kissing ass? But I can't be the only one that thought those Seahawks uniforms were on fire.
C
Those are sweet. You like the little glimmer? The little shimmer?
B
I like that. I mean, who doesn't like a little holiday glimmer and shimmer, dude?
C
Yeah, it was nice. You know what? Even I had a text Dan Byer and you know, I'm a grumpy guy that doesn't want to bother anybody and I don't want to be bothered. Even I. I didn't facetime him like you did, Rich, but I did shoot him a text to be like, yo, nice win. That was an exciting game, bro. That was really great.
D
I will say this about the helmets. Don't you think that they found a new shade of green that we'd never seen before?
C
What is that?
D
Yeah, like, it was just like. Is it evergreen? Is it Regular green.
B
What?
D
That green. But it worked.
C
Magical green. I. Holiday magic.
B
I thought everything about that game was amazing from the comeback because there was a time where when they turned the ball over in the red zone again, DB you were like, all right, this ain't our night. And then you're like, wait up, hold up. When they hit that first two point conversion, not the controversial one, the first one, I was like, okay, now they're down by 8. That's doable because you missed that, you're down by 10, and it's a different ball game. And you know, everything about that game was insane. I loved it. Dan Byer had to love it even more. But Kavino, you're right. What a. What a.
C
What a.
B
What an opportunity for Sam Darnold. Step up. And he finally did right after a couple of misses.
C
Dude, insane game. Lots of fun to watch the poise of this guy. Honestly, I was nervous. I was. That was one of those games where you stand up and you stand in front of the TV and you're like, all right, is he going to pull this two point conversion off? And he did, but not without controversy. And we're going to get to that. But, Dan, you made me think of something else too. And this is silly, but I want to point this out. I've always loved the stories about Michael Jackson. In fact, Jimmy Jam shared some about how particular Michael Jackson was about his music and the sounds and being creative and how he dwelled on certain words and sounds and things with the songs you could hear it on. Over promised our bonus podcast. We talk sports and music with Jimmy Jamie Superstar producer Michael Jackson. The artist was obsessed with creating sounds that people never heard before. He wanted to incorporate sounds that were brand new to our ears, and I really do believe that color was a brand new color to our eyes. I don't know what that was. That Seahawks color last night was something I don't think we've ever seen before. What was it?
B
But you think they invented a color?
C
Yes, I think they invented a color last night because I've never seen it before. So props to them, man. I'm not one to really harp on the look and the color colors like you, but Dan Beyer has to get a new helmet for his collection and I've never seen that color before. Not on the road, not on a car, not on a helmet. It was pretty dope.
D
It was. And by the way, even some of the other uniforms we've seen, we've kind of been hit and miss and rich, I know we haven't seen your Niners and we'll see their rivalry uniforms in week 18. But this is one that I thought landed like the Bills when they wore those, it was okay. I wasn't as big of a fan of the Patriots. I think you guys liked the Patriots one. I did like the Patriots.
B
I thought that was a cooler, cooler vibe. Like Frost. Right, the Patriots Frost.
D
But I felt that this one was more of something that was more universally accepted or appreciated by the football community as opposed to the other ones that we've seen this year.
C
And db, side note, if people don't know Dan Beyer collects all the helmets, like mini helmets of all the teams and all the new renditions and versions of these helmets, does the wife eventually say, all right, enough with the helmets?
D
No, and that's why I married her. In fact, I have them displayed. I've sent you guys pictures and she actually thinks it looks really good on the wall. It's not.
C
What if you run out of wall space eventually?
D
There are a bunch that are in totes. You just have to do it with discretion. It also, we've talked about this with. We had Benny in studio and Emma earlier this week. I think it was this week when they were talking about all the teams. It's how I've taught my son the teams. He knows the helmets, so I think she's all for that as well. So it's just the. When I. Different Seahawks ones, he knows the logos or a different Bills one. When we were in Buffalo, I picked up the rivalry helmet and so he knew that it was Bills, but he knew it wasn't the normal Bills. So that helps that way.
C
And, you know, it's cool. That look, that helmet, it's all synonymous with a really great win. So I did text Dan Byer last night, Rich. I think all of our buddies were texting each other like, yo, dude, you watching this? My brother texted me. This game is fire. Friends I haven't heard from in a long time. Dude, you watching this game? Hit up Dan Byer. Congrats with the win. He goes, man, that two point conversion they didn't get was overturned. I feel. I feel kind of guilty about it. Is that a normal feeling? You just happy that you won? Should you feel any sort of guilt if you're a Seahawks fan? Or is that the right call and you won and that's it?
D
I think most people would take it that way, but, like, when does that happen? When does the whistle blow and the ball is there and your guy just happens to pick it up and it ends up tying the game.
B
Dude, call it. Call it. You know, sometimes a little luck is part of the equation. And it, it was a backwards pass, but happened to just float near the end zone, picked it up, two point conversion. I stand by. I don't think anyone would really debate it. I, I heard Mike Harmon and Jason Smith last night. I happened to be.
C
Where was.
B
I was driving around somewhere.
C
Oh.
B
And I, and I heard, I heard them saying that.
C
What do you mean somewhere? Would you go out for a late night massage? Where were you?
B
No, actually, you know what? Believe it or not, I played softball like 10 o' clock last night.
C
You forgot?
B
No, I was like, why was I driving around late at night? And they were saying that it's not hit by a pitch in the head. It's not in the spirit of the game. And I'm like, yeah, but what's the spirit of the game? Like, I, I get it. It wasn't intended, but by the rules, Backwards pass, deflection, end zone picked up, two point conversion. You can't twist the rules because it's not in the spirit of the game.
C
They got it right. And we want to know your thoughts on the game. And I do want to ask this, it's an obvious question, but is Sam Darnold elite? And we just don't want to give him that credit because of his path. Everybody has a different path. Everyone has a different journey, Right? I'll give you an example, Rich. Everybody starts out somewhere. I started off in radio as a van driver. That's sort of your come up, right? You drive the van, you work in promotions, you hang up banners, you give out stickers.
B
And the irony of that is that you're the worst driver we know.
C
Oh, yeah. But you got to get your foot in the door, right? And my way was to work in promotions, radio promotions on the street. Team K Rock, New York. No matter what I did ever, people still pointed at me like, yeah, that guy used to be on the street team. So I don't think I really ever got the credit I deserved as I came up and hey, look at me now. Fox Sports Radio nationwide, the world famous Kavino and Rich show. Right? But to some people, still the van driver. You think because Sam Darnold had this journey, had this path, he's not getting the credit he deserves because we still remember him as a jet and how he bounced around and everything else. Because this dude is playing like on another level, I think on a big stage. That was a big game last night. Are we?
B
It's I think it's a moderate level of respt.
C
I think he gets just starting to get it.
B
Well, you know why Kavino? Because there's, you know, if you're a die hard football fan, you remembered him in college as well and you're like, oh, well, Sam Darnold did come with a lot of hype. And then I think there is something to be said. We're seeing more and more people understand that, hey, the jets could really just ruin a guy. Yeah, you know, that's part of it.
C
But I think that like he still has that or had that stank on him a little bit that, you know, I think he was on that team and he was part of that misery.
B
You know, DB Will back me up on this, I'm sure, and if not, then screw him. But no, I'm sure Dan will back me up in that. When he played for Minnesota, you could been like, well, you know, he's playing under like a quarterback whisper and like it was the right circumstance. Now that they're in first place and have a path to the one seat and he's on yet another team, you have to start saying, Sam Darnold might not be elite. He's not Josh Allen Mahomes top tier.
C
So you're still hesitant to say it. The guy's done it for two teams that tier. I don't want to throw out fake stats, but I was talking to Mike, who runs his place.
B
What does that guy know?
C
Well, he. They didn't know completely. So yeah, I give you that. He said that Colin Cowherd said In his last 39 games, he's like 30 and 9 or something like that.
B
He's got a great record.
C
Yeah, yeah. His last. Something like that. Yeah. So I think we do need to put some respect on his name a little more.
B
I mean, I don't know if he's enough wins. I don't know if wins and losses are how you can really determine success. Because then you could say a guy like Jimmy Garoppolo's like top tier as well, because Jimmy G is a niner and, you know, true.
C
It's how you do it. And he did it with two different teams, but Darnold is 26 and 6. Well, Mike was wrong. Rich was right.
B
Number 26 and 6 is damn good dude.
D
Well, it's better than 30 and 9.
C
Yeah, yeah. But you got to keep him in that conversation of dudes that really turned it around and how a different setting could really change everything for you. So props to him.
D
The funny Thing with Darnold is this, and this is why I side with Rich, is the interceptions have always been there. It's now you just gotta deal with it. Like, I listen, I got married later in life. I lived a life as a single person for a long time. So did my wife.
B
Not everyone likes helmets, Dan.
D
Right, Right. So there are just things that. And it's not a matter of, like, my wife throws a lot of interceptions, but that's who they are. That's who Sam Darnold is. And you're not going to get the overtime Sam Darnold that you. If he's not throwing those interceptions. And I've said to you guys before, I think it's, it's. It. It is something that could derail the Seahawks season. Like a Sam Darnold interception. He leads the NFL. And turnovers. He does. With interceptions and fumbles combined. Sam Darnold leads the NFL. But for what they're paying him and what he did last night, the Seahawks think that it was worth it. And you just hope, if you're a Seahawks fan like me, that you get more of the overtime, second half, or fourth quarter Sam Darnold than maybe you did in the earlier game.
B
And Dan, that's a great point in relationships with players on a team. You like coworkers, someone could be great. But there's always something where you're like, well, if they didn't do this, like, if my wife wasn't so damn messy or, you know, like I was saying, that's who she is. You know, like Kavino, I was saying last night, too many times, Sam Darnold put them in a bad position because he took a sack when it's like, dude, just get rid of the ball, throw it away, do something. And then all of a sudden you got a second and six, 16 or something and it's like, get rid of the ball. And there were a couple funny plays I want to just point out last night. And I'm sure you, Danny G, Dan Byer, everyone remembers it was like a third and 16. The crowd immediately started booing when they ran the ball, but then it was a run for 17 yards and a first down. Did you Kenneth Walker.
D
Yeah.
B
Kenneth Walker bust open for 17 on a third and 16 draw play. And the crowd went from booing to. To cheering. I think without even taking a breath.
D
You're exactly right.
C
You know what's wild about talking to your buddies while the game is on is your friends may have some action on the game. Like, I'm pretty sure my Brother had some money on the game last night. And I'm talking like, yo, dude, you watching this game? But I'm watching ahead of him. Like, I don't know, like his tv, his cable or whatever he's watching on his prime, I guess is behind mine. So I'm like, oh, oh. So when that 17 yard run was happening, he's like, what's going on, yo? Wait, did they score? Because he's behind me. So anyway, I was watching while talking to my brother and texting everybody. It was a great Thursday Night Football game. And Rich and you know, congrats to your 49ers. Like you said, they control their destiny.
B
Yeah, it's, it's interesting. We're going to go over that stuff later as we get into Week 16. Now, the two point conversion at the end, and I don't blame you, and I'm, I'm not throwing you under the bus, but Kavino and a bunch of my buddies were hitting me up like, should they have gone for two? Was it too risky?
C
At first? And maybe they said it on the broadcast, but again, I was, I was talking to people and texting. I'm just watching. I didn't hear what they said. I'm like, man, this is a bold move.
B
Like, but, but you know what? They, they did point it out. I'm sure Al Michaels and Herb street pointed out. But even going into the game, if you follow the NFC west like I do, as a Niners fan, you knew that if the game ended in a tie, A, it did the 49ers no favors, and B, it did the Seahawks no favors because if it was a tie, then the head to head between the Seahawks and the Rams Is Rams are 101 and the Seahawks would be 01 and 1. So if the Seahawks let that game end at a tie, it's almost the same as the loss because unless they win the division, they're a wild card, right? So you go for the win on the two point conversion in overtime because if you miss it, you're in the same position you are playoff seeding wise, for the most part.
C
Right.
B
I mean, a tie is sort of like an L there, so it's ballsy, but not really because it's, it's, it's like going for the win or not. It's because a tie in that case is sort of like an L. Yeah.
D
And the other. There are a couple of things that you're 100% right. And there were three minutes still left on the clock in overtime, but you know that the Rams would have worked the clock so the Seahawks weren't going to touch the ball again. So that's the decision. What's also interesting is because of all the multiple two point convers that the Seahawks had earlier in the game to get back in it, maybe the one that they had here in overtime wasn't their best play because they had already used a couple that they felt were better plays.
B
They already used their patented backwards pass off the defender's helmet by the goal line. But you know, as they picked up.
D
After the whistleblower blew, they were to.
B
Use that trick one and db, interestingly enough, I'm sure you did the same as a Seahawks fan, you looked ahead and said, well, if there is a tie, well, there are a couple games left and then you see that the Rams played the Falcons and the Cardinals and those are likely to win. So if you want to win the division and you're the Seattle Seahawks, there's no doubt you go for that overtime two point conversion.
D
They're going to make the playoffs. There are 99% chance regardless really of the outcome last night. So they're very likely in. So you have to go. If you would have went for a tie, that just, that takes winning out of it and only brings the other stuff into the equation. Here's my quick question. Now that we've seen it this season and it goes back to the super bowl with Rich's Niners against the Chiefs and the kicking or taking the ball, at what point now if you have the football first, do you go for two? So the Rams score and kick the extra point. Right. With the only the 10 minute quarters we're seeing, like there's not a lot of time to go in and maybe not every team would, would go for two. But the Rams were at a disadvantage because they scored first and then just kicked the extra point. At what point do you say, you know what, maybe it's just worth us going for two in this scenario and making it an eight point game and hoping we just stop the team on four downs or stop a two point play than just kicking the extra point. Because it was quite an advantage for the Seahawks to be able to know that they could go for two and win the game.
C
You know what I mean?
D
Like to go first, it would be very risky to say, well we're only taking a six point lead, but if teams are going to do what Seattle did, maybe it's not as much of a risk as we would think or.
C
DB, can we just go to 15 minute overtime?
D
Yeah, that would help too.
C
Yeah.
D
But then Rich wouldn't make Thursday night 10 o' clock softball, you know. Exactly.
B
I was like several times now where.
D
It'S a possession, a long possession, seven, seven. And then the team that scores second has to go for the two point conversion because there's not enough time left on the clock. So the 10 minute thing is not working out, in my opinion.
C
Yeah.
B
And I know you guys are. I know you guys are dying to know. Four for five with two doubles just.
D
Oh, good.
C
No, nobody, nobody cared about that. Yeah, no one cared about.
D
That's because the left fielder was sleeping.
B
Yes.
C
And he was 85 years old. Yeah. But a few other observations. Last night's game, like the back and forth with Nakua and Cooper cup. That, that one catch in the fourth quarter that Cooper cup made insane. But that friendly back and forth and that competition was so cool to see. And did anyone notice? Yeah, I mentioned, you know, I'm standing up watching to see if they get this. They pan the camera over to Stafford and Nakua and some people on the sidelines and they're like palling around laughing and smiling. Meanwhile, I'm like, yo, dude, how are they not like, obviously they're in the moment. They can't lose anyone. They're embarrassed.
B
No, no, no.
C
That's really my point. It's really crazy to see how loose and how much fun they really are having because I was kind of nervous watching, I think in a moment like that. Camilla, they're playing slap ass on the sideline.
B
They're thinking, we're doing everything we can. The Kua had 200 plus receiving yards. Stafford sort of solidified the MVP. If you ask me, even though they.
C
Lost, they put a show, dude.
B
They're thinking, you know, we've, we're doing everything we can. Let's play loose. Let's keep it fun.
C
It just was a wild, as you like to say, juxtaposition or contrast.
E
Yeah.
C
You know, to know how nervous and in the zone we were watching it and they were there just like having fun on the sideline, like smiling and laughing. I couldn't believe Stafford was that loose.
B
You see, when the Stafford got hit hard once they panted Jimmy G. And he's on the sidelines, looks like he's. He looks like he's modeling for NFL shop.
C
Like, stop being so handsome, dude. All right, so your thoughts. There's a lot of people chiming in. Rich, they have thoughts on the game last night. 8 7, 7, 99 on Fox. It felt like I can't Say game of the year. You're right. I don't want to be the boy.
B
Tell me, tell me a better game then.
C
You know, I don't know. I have it written down right here. I thought you were gonna make fun of me for saying that because I'm always the guy that's like, dude, that was the fight of the year.
B
You're the boy. You're the boy that cries fight of the year. You're not the boy that cries game of the year.
C
I didn't want to be prisoner of the moment, but hell of a game last night.
D
Can we agree it was the best.
B
Fourth quarter and overtime of the season? Well, you know why, Danny? I think when you talk about best games and like you said, best quarters, I think you know what's at stake is also a big part of that. And this was for the 1 seed in the NFC. So if you're going to say game of the year, well, hell yeah. Because I think you saw the one seed fall into the lap of the Seahawks after they were ballsy and went for that two point conversion. And I think looking forward, and I'm not just saying this because I'm a Niners fan, for the good of football, for the good of the viewer, for the good of the game. If the Niners, they should beat Indianapolis with old man Rivers on Monday night, they should. If they then go on to beat the Bears in the bay in San Francisco that week 18 matchup Seahawks Niners would be for the 1 seed. The winner gets a buy and home field and the loser is a wild card. I think that's, that's just great football. Write that script. Come on.
C

B
Yeah, you know this song broke a record, Kavina. Whether you love the song or not, Little Mariah.
C
What's the record?
B
Throughout all the years, you know, around Christmas, there's always charts on the Billboard Hot 100.
C
I mean, look, I'm not a Mariah Carey guy. I find her to be highly annoying, that the whole diva attitude. But this song is magical.
B
Oh, this song is magical.
C
Yeah.
B
And I'm not a fan of her.
C
I agree.
B
You know what I hate on the song you and I on the same page. Okay, this song has been number one 20 weeks over the years now. Really non consecutively. But how often does the song rechart? So it's that little caveat where if it's number one two weeks a year for, you know, a decade. So over 20 weeks now over Christmas.
C
Wrappings by the waitresses, over Merry Merry.
B
Christmas by Yoko and John.
C
Yo, can I ruin that for everybody.
B
Yes.
C
Obviously, you know, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were a thing, but have you ever really noticed her isolated lyrics at the end of that song? They make you want to vomit. It ruins the whole song.
B
Ruins Once John Lennon Christmas.
C
You hear it, you can't unhear it because here's what it sounds like. Have a merry, merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Oh, my God.
B
For years I thought it was annoying children. I dealt with it. Then I'm like, wait, that's Yoko Ono. Oh, my God. Now I hate it.
C
But anyway, happy Hanukkah. Happy holidays. Let's have a happy holiday weekend. You know what, Iowa? Sam has it isolated. Take a listen. Is it this part? No, it's at the very end. Yeah. Oh, it's horrible. I'll find it. You know what? Unless you want people to vomit, just leave it alone. We're live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. Sesame street helped raise all of us. Now it's our turn. Donate this holiday season@sesame.org because the world needs sesame and sesame needs you. Now, Rich, let me tell what's on the menu besides some pantone, some fruitcake and some treats.
B
Hey, Grandma's butter cookies. The menu for tonight, I ordered a plate, like a platter of Mexican food. And I ordered pizza. Like, I made the order. So is that good pizza or Mexican? You got a choice for fight night.
C
You know what? Who's going to argue that? We have brainwave coming up. It's the game that's sweeping the nation. It's very visual, very interactive. So we urge you to watch and play along again. YouTube.comino Enrich FSR Covino Enrich FSR on YouTube. Your chance to win some prizes. A great stocking stuffer. Our CNR on FSR Nerf football, brand new. And we got Rich's big TV game of the week and weekend hobnobbing coming up. So we have so much to get to, man, but we gotta wrap up this Thursday night football game. It really was a hell of a game and a great way to start the weekend.
B
Well, you know, Dan Byer, Danny G, all the schedule watchers like me realize that the craziest wild pun intended part of this cove is that there's two games left for those two teams. The Niners have three games left. The NFC West. Each team has the ability to either be the one seed or the seven seed, which that's a big little shift through now. You could be the one seed or the final last wild card seed, depending on how you do over the last Couple of weeks.
C
So, Rich, do you have more tighter. You have more fun watching the schedule or watching drunk girls come out of the club in Vegas?
B
Oh, both.
A
Both.
C
You know, wow. There for you.
B
Drunk girls coming out of the club in Vegas. We used to call them one shoe dirty foot club stumblers. Right.
C
One shoe 30 foot club stumblers because they come out with one shoe on and 30ft. Yeah, man. Watching. All right, you want to get some feedback going?
B
Yeah. Let's go.
C
7799 on Fox. 87799 on Fox. Before we play brainwave, let's take some phone calls. Danny G, want to start in Fillmore, California, or do you want to start with Tim? Where you want to go? Yeah, let's go to Alejandro. Alejandro, what's up, man?
B
Hey, bro. Okay, so when you were talking about. You're talking to you. You guys are talking to your brother and, like, he's ahead of you in the system. Yeah. That is the worst thing ever. Because my girlfriend lives in Portland and I'm in Southern California and I hear her yelling on the phone, and I'm like, what happened? Like, wait, what?
C
It's kind of weird, though, because we're all doing the same thing, right, Alejandro?
B
It is infuriating. In fact, I've tried to tell my friends, I have a bunch of met fan friends back east when they're watching the mets on local SNY and I'm watching on the MLB app, they're five to 10 seconds ahead sometimes, and they'll be texting like, hell, yeah. And I'm like, don't stop. So I urge them, I said, hey, guys, can you pause? Everyone pause for five seconds and then restart it. And we get text throughout the game. Because I'm not going to play these little games where you and I are texting and you're 10 seconds ahead and you know, you know, Cooper, cup over the middle for 15 yards. And I don't know that yet. I can't do it.
C
Thank you, Ali. Alejandro, let's go to Jimmy in kc. What up, Jimmy?
B
Oh, he's so right, though. There's nothing more annoying.
D
It is.
C
It's annoying. I was that guy last night. What up, Jason? Jimmy.
B
Jimbo.
C
Yo, Jimmy.
B
Top.
C
Jimmy. Whoa, Jimmy. Tom. Jimmy just failed.
B
Jimmy. Jimmy, do what you got to do. I've had enough. You're out of here.
C
You know what, Jimmy?
B
Beat it.
C
Let's talk to Timmy instead.
D
Hold on.
B
How do you know nothing bad happened to Jim? Jimmy, I hope you're okay.
C
I hope he's fine. Call back.
D
He Was on a cell phone. I Hope everything's all right.
C
87799 on Fox and of course, at Covino and Rich on social media. What up, Tim? In New York City.
B
I was. I thought you were mispronouncing my name.
C
I didn't know if it was my.
B
Turn, but I hope Jim's okay. Yeah, but I was thinking I was texting my buddies today. I think I know how to fix college football bowl season. Oh, let's do it.
A
Good.
B
So, you know, we get all the matchups, and instead of playing it now, you play it week one. So you get all week, you get all off season to prepare.
C
You get the storyline.
B
The games mean something because, you know, fresh, late, and before you say different teams, no one's playing their players anymore. Everyone's opting out and getting in the transfer portal. So this, this gives you a fresh chance to really make bowl season matter again. Bro, I feel like you smoked a bowl before you thought of that one. That's, that's, that's wild. Carry the playoffs over to the next season.
C
He smoked the ball before he tried to fix the ball. Yes.
B
What's up, db?
D
It's not just the playoffs. It's not the playoffs. He's just talking about these meaningless bowl games, which, by the way, I love Tim's enthusias. Other people have brought this up as well as that, maybe to get value. Although nobody wants to go to Florida and Tampa in late August, which is part of the reason now why these Bulls are. People want to get away from the cold weather. Even though there are some cold weather bowl games. The premise is go someplace nice, have a nice vacation. But the Bulls don't mean much anymore. And that would be a way of adding value to it.
C
Thank you, db.
B
Let me ask Dan, by being that the playoff has been, you know, now it's 12 teams. And when we were on our come up, there was no championship. Then there was a championship game, then there was a smaller, you know, you know, pool of four. And then it keeps getting bigger and bigger. Back in the day, top draft picks would sit things out unless they were in the national championship game. Are any players in the top 12 in the playoff, you think anyone will opt to sit? Or is that just like bad taste? You can't be sitting in the playoff, right?
D
Yeah, you probably won't see that. But we've, as you said, we've seen for a while now in meaningless bowl games, players sitting out because of injury. We've had guys who've been injured in college football seasons that have said, you know what, I'm probably not going to make it back this year. I'm just going to kind of focus on, you know, the rest of my college days and focusing on trying to get to the NFL. We've seen that. But to opt out of a, of a playoff run would be crazy. We have seen players on teams enter the transfer portal and remain with their teams through their postseason run. That happened last year. But yeah, to completely opt out of a playoff game, you probably won't see.
C
I want to give some shout outs. Rich, the live chat is popping. You could stay interactive at covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. Manny Munoz west in Vegas. Scott for mayor I see that people are saying the fight is rigged tonight. It is not. Steve underscore Man199 says if Paul wins, it's a thousand percent rigged after show but later says, you look really handsome in the studio that you're in right now. Our Over Promise studio.
B
Oh, this is my. I'm in the home studio today because if you want the truth, my kids had their school concert and Dan Byer, I know you said you went to your kids for a school concert the other day as we get into the update, how'd it go for little Brody? Did he have fun or what?
D
He had a great time. Loved it.
C
Did he freeze or did he lean into it?
D
No, he was into it. Yeah, he was into the whole deal. They were first up to it.
C
That's funny.
B
It's the first time most of us see our kids on a stage as like a pre K or kindergarten little Christmas show. And your kid is either the ham or they're just like up here in headlights.
D
Yeah, he bought in.
B
Yeah.
C
So he brought it.
B
Thanks to. Thanks to our boss, Scott. He said watch the show and do the show from home. Yeah, you. You don't want to miss those. Those little kindergarten performances. They do them once. You got to be there.
D
Yeah, it was quite the show. And. And the line was lawn before they opened the doors. It was a long line to get in. So. So seating was at a premium.
C
Oh, nice.
B
It's a. I know what I did this morning, Dan Byer. I told my wife, I'm like, go early, stand in line. I'll drop the kids off. Their strategies, it's like you're tailgating or something. You need strategies. All right, let's get to DB's update. What's going on, Dan?
D
There's my music. The NFL. Fine. Puka Nakua 25 grand for criticizing the officials earlier this week and after yesterday's loss to the Seahawks. Seahawks edge rusher Derek hall he's been suspended one game. The linebacker got a one game ban, but he's appealing the suspension for stepping on the leg of Rams lineman Kevin Dotson last night. The NFL called the act unnecessary and unsportsmanlike. Chiefs wide receiver Rasheed Rice out against the Titans. Steelers edge rusher TJ Watt is not going to play against the Lions on Sunday. Still out because of that lung issue. Falcons wide receiver Drake London expected to return from his knee injury to play against the Cardinals. Coming up on Sunday, you guys talked about college football. It's Alabama and Oklahoma. First round game tonight, 8:00 Eastern Time. Winner gets Indiana and the Rose Bow on New Year's Day. Gasparillo bowl wrapping up in Tampa. Just six minutes left. It's been all NC State. They're up 31 to 7 on Memphis. Western Michigan won the Myrtle beach bowl over Kennesaw State today, 41 to 6. The Angels and the family of late pitcher Tyler Skaggs reached a settlement shortly before a jury was set to reach a verdict in the $118 million lawsuit brought by the family against the team. This is that classic HBCU vibe. Non stop action. The band is rocking and the crowd lit. Chance echo drum beat. Everybody showing that school proposal game like this. Yeah, it calls for an ice cold Coca Cola. Ah, crisp and refreshing. That's a game changer right there. Yeah, that taste always hits the right note. Just like the band at halftime. And just like that, we're back at it. Passionate fans, school colors everywhere and an ice cold Coca Cola. That's a winning combo no matter the sport, no matter the yard. Everybody knows fan work is thirsty work. So grab a Coca Cola and keep that HBCU pride going.

All right, let's do this, man. Friday fight night. College football night. A week until Christmas after we got less than a week till Christmas, dude. Merry Christmas.
C
These guys are my number one favorite favorite Siberian orchestra around. Good ear Covino and Rich on Fox Sports radio. Happy holidays. It is time. What's up?
B
Siberian orchestra is trans now. Hey yo.
C
We are live from the Fox Sports radio studio and it's time for our tire rack play of the day. What a wild finish to say the least.
B
NCI it sounds like a church right now. The 12s are being quiet for the offense. Sam empties the backfield now he brings Charbonnet back inside. Three receivers to the right. Motion back inside is Barner. Darnold has time. Looks inside. It's caught. Touchdown. Make an extra point. Make a conversion. I don't care what it is, but Seahawks win the game again. On the last play of the game, The Seahawks win 38, 37. It's sovereign with a two point conversion catch. Holy cow.
C
Holy cow is right. Battle in Seattle. That's courtesy of Seahawks radio network. And that was our tire rack play of the day. For over 40 years, Tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped fast and free. Backed by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options. Options like mobile tire installation, tire rack, Tire rack dot com. The way tire buying should be. What a game. Still recovering and what a night. Fight night tonight and what a country. Am I right? So Rich, we have lots to get to brainwave. Big TV game of the week, weekend hobnobbing. But real quick, right quick, I want to remind everybody that we have a bonus pod called over promised.
D
Right? Right.
C
And it's a great show. I really believe in it. Give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world. It's like 20 to 25 minutes. And yesterday we broke down the fight like in detail. And we had a fight expert on the show, Two tone to superstar broke it down with us. And not only did we talk about Jake, Paul and AJ tonight, but we talked about Shakur Stevenson and Tiafimo next month. We talked about Bud Crawford's retirement and Rich gave us a week week 16 picks. So again that's on our YouTube page, Covino and Rich FSR if you want to check it out. And I am so pumped for the fight tonight, bro. I am so pumped to come over your house, eat all your food, eat for free. You need anything you need me to bring anything, bro?
B
Can you bring some. You can bring some High Noons maybe or something.
C
When I asked that, I'm hoping to hear. No, I'm good.
B
No, I. I got everything. But if you want to bring some High Noons. Cause did you see that? The Coldplay concert? Cheating girl said she had one too many High Noons.
C
No. Is that. She's blaming it on the alcohol.
B
And I think Portnoy was like, what, an endorsement for his high noons. So.
C
Makes you cheat on your husband. High Noons. Makes you cheat. Wow.
B
So tonight, I think I know what I'm going to bet on, and I know there's a clip we want to play. Also, there was a funny comment last night during a. During a game. But tonight, I think the play is this computer round 3, 4, 5, and 6. I'm going to do 20 bucks around, I think. And 20 bucks pays out about 200 for most of those rounds. So Jake Paul, I'm going to bet 20 bucks on him just to win. Just like, long shot for Po, right?
C
Yeah. I mean, hey, hey. Andy Ruiz knocked Anthony Joshua out. It's a matter of how serious he takes it. I don't see that happening, but anything could happen.
B
I'm going to spread 100 bucks over five bets. I'm going to do Anthony Joshua wins by knockout or just not. Not just that. Wins in the third, fourth, fifth, or sixth. And I have 20 bucks on Jake Paul to win. Because if he wins, you mean. Come on.
C
Well, I will say this. I don't believe in Jake Paul fixing fights or rigging fights. I want to make that clear. Right. But if there is any wink, wink or understanding, I was telling our buddy Steve, who's in the studio hanging out with us, Steve and Dale here hanging out with us today, maybe there's an understanding that, hey, you know, give the fans one round to feel each other out, something to cheer about. So you got to figure one round, it's going to last at least one round. I think AJ's going to knock him out either in the second or third round. I think that's a pretty safe bet.
B
Our buddy that lives in New York, we call him Handsome Gabe because he's handsome and his name is Gabe.
C
Yeah.
B
Our buddy Gabe says Anthony Joshua might like a. Like a wild animal, the jungle. You know, how like a lion or something will play with their food a little bit before they eat it?
C
Toy with him.
B
Yeah, yeah. Like he might. Anthony Joshua might essentially play with his food a little bit and be like, all right, Let me f with this guy for a couple rounds and then just.
C
I agree, but you can't do that too long. Like Jake Paul's still a big dude with a powerful punch.
B
So they're shorter rounds, right?
C
Shorter rounds. Jake Paul 6 1. AJ 6 6. AJ's a great, great fighter, so he should have his his day with them. He's already planning for a Tyson Fury fight. He's looking ahead. Anything could happen because it's boxing. But I think it's going to be an exciting one, guys. And again, if you want to hear more about it, Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube embarrassing promised. Episode 122 embarrassing in your mind if.
B
Anthony Joshua doesn't knock him out. Out.
C
I think he has to knock him out. I think he will knock him out. I do. I think he'll knock him out.
B
Well, we have more CNR next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Hang tight.
F
What a matchup we got, y'.
A
All.
F
This is that classic HBCU vibe. Non stop action. The band is rocking and the crowd lit. Chance echo drum beat, everybody. Showing that school pride game like this.
