Tom Brady sort of day. 75 million to play flag football. That's what I'm hearing.
Rich Davis
You know, that's what Portnoy is saying. And I can't argue that it's probably not far off because every star of the NFL coaches players are all like, I'm in. I'm in. No one's in. Brady saying it's BS Unless they're getting tons of money. I guarantee they're getting tens of millions.
Dan Byer
Oh, guaranteed he's getting paid.
Rich Davis
But you think, you think Saquon and McC McAffrey and all these guys are quick to say yes if they weren't getting paid.
Dan Byer
Well, there is an update. I'll give it to you. But we're Covino and Rich. Fox Sports Radio on a Taco Tuesday Showtime of homes trivia coming up and we be rocking out. Thank you guys for being here. Hey, and this isn't just a game. Oh, it's a once in a generation event. The Harlem Globetrotters 100 Year Tour. Come be a part of the legacy that never stops. Be there when history's made. Rich Davis
I believe he was.
Dan Byer
Yes.
Rich Davis
In 1925. Mike was there.
Dan Byer
And Iowa Sam. I was shocked when I found out he was a fencer. And if you ever want to be like Iowa Sam, trying Olympic and Paralympic sport fencing, it's fast, safe and easy to start. Find A beginner class near you@usa fencing.org trifencing that's USA fencing.org tri fencing. Now here's the update.
Rich Davis
But that I was Sam has his fencing helmet on and his dating profile.
Dan Byer
Yeah, it's a good look. My name is Javier and I am a sword fighter. So Portnoy says, and he's doubling down, that Brady's getting paid $75 million from the Saudi Arabians to play flag football. And Brady responded, are we just picking numbers out of a hat and reporting them? And while we're breaking news, Elvis is doing the halftime show and Babe Ruth is going to sign some autographs for fans. And Brady also continue. I heard Dave prefers floppy pizza now that we're on it. So he's saying that's not true.
Rich Davis
They got to be getting paid a lot, though. Maybe not 75 mil, but Portnoy saying.
Dan Byer
That'S the number he was told. I'm sure Brady is getting paid. Dude, it's like maybe not 75, bro.
Rich Davis
It's when you hear like, oh, Beyonce did some, you know, sheiks, kids, sweet 16, you know, the number's substantial.
Dan Byer
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, when you hear all of their while, I'm sure. And we, the fans, I guess, and viewers, if we get to see, I'm sure reap all the benefits of this. But yeah, it'll be fun. So anyway, I hope you're having that kind of day. Not Mike Gundy, who got fired sort of day. I hope you have his amazing hairline, though, his amazing coif. That's pretty cool. He's blessed by the hair gods.
Rich Davis
Could I, could I ask you a couple quickie questions real quick and then we'll. Sure.
Dan Byer
Then I got a question about Daniel Jones.
Rich Davis
All right, so we'll talk Daniel Jones. We'll take some feedback, some phone calls. First of all, if you live that mom or dad life well, I want to direct you to a video while you're following us on our FOX Sports radio kavino rich YouTube page. If you go to my Instagram, Rich Davis, if you're living that mom or dad life, it's like my favorite video. So it's my opportunity for a second to just, you know, talk about my kid for 10 seconds. My daughter got her first hit off of kid pitch. And when she gets to first base, when you see the excitement when she pumps her fist, she's like, let's go. She's eight. It's what sports is all about. It really is. It's like why we love sports so much. That's why we love sports. When you see a little kid get their first hit, when they first play kid pitch, or you see your kid make their first three pointer, that's a confidence or you know, your kid's first touchdown. These are the moments that give a.
Dan Byer
Young kid confidence, man, it really does, dude. I've been riding off little league confidence all this way this whole time.
Rich Davis
If you don't think we joke about it, but if you don't think Covino's little league home run prowess gave him confidence, it absolutely did. So if you go, Rich Davis, I posted the video. My daughter got a hit. And watching her excitement makes us all realize why we love sports. And, and while you're a little vulnerable and happy because it's a nice video, can you. I know you're going to end up winning this bet. I'm going to owe you at least 1500 to $2000 for this mess. Yankees bet. Can you root for the Mets to make the playoffs just for the week? Can you like. I would like find it in your heart.
Dan Byer
Of course. I would love to see the Mets make the playoffs.
Rich Davis
They need the Reds to.
Dan Byer
Because I never hated the Mets.
Rich Davis
They need to outplay the Reds by one game. And all of a sudden I'm the biggest Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Skeens is going tomorrow. I'm like, in my mind, I'm like, come on.
Dan Byer
We don't want you left out. We don't want you left out of the fun. Danny G. And Dan, we're all excited about the playoffs. We don't want you to.
Rich Davis
I don't want to be the fade out. I don't want to be the weenie in the room. And DB's got his brewer's head on and Dodgers and Yankees. I want to be involved, guys.
Dan Byer
I mean, you're always the weenie in the room, but yeah, I'm rooting for your mess.
Rich Davis
What's up, Dan Buyer?
Commercial Announcer 2
I just, I love that video. And how great is it? I don't know, Kavino, how many of the 27 home runs you have on video? But I'm guessing not all 27.
Dan Byer
Not even a single one.
Rich Davis
Yes. Yeah, it could be fake.
Commercial Announcer 2
Yeah, that's. That's amazing. And I'm sure, and I don't know if you guys have experienced this because our athletic careers ended a long, long time ago, but you still remember what the ball looks like coming at you when you had a big hit or what it was. So she'll probably remember what that softball was looking like coming into the Strike zone when she hit it.
Sam
So I remember some of the voices, too, from your dugout, your coach, your.
Rich Davis
Family, and the video of my daughter, Emmy. The reason I bring it up is because we're all allowed to be proud parents with our kids. It just, you know, we've been doing coach pitch, and she did T ball. This is her first time where some girl was throwing some heat and she. Because when the kids walk, then the coach comes in to do coach pitch. And that's so much of it when they're that age.
Commercial Announcer 2
Yeah.
Rich Davis
So when she got her first hit off another kid, she was so fired up. She flexes, by the way, she flexes in first place. I've never seen this side. I've never seen this side of my daughter. And she goes, let's go. And I'm like, who is this little kid?
Dan Byer
Yeah, she has more ripped forearms than you do, Rick.
Rich Davis
That's true.
Dan Byer
I mean, she was, like, really fired up.
Rich Davis
Was this music playing in the background?
Commercial Announcer 2
Yes.
Dan Byer
Should have been. You should do a little montage, and.
Rich Davis
She does a little.
Sam
Where the Tornado flexing like Freddie Freeman.
Rich Davis
I know. So again, at Rich Davis and of course, follow us on the YouTube. We're live now. Doing video every day.
Dan Byer
A little much that she did the worm to first base, though.
Rich Davis
That wasn't that much, but. Yeah.
Dan Byer
Yeah. And then she moonwalked the second.
Rich Davis
She was happy, bro.
Dan Byer
That was a little much, but aside from that, it was great.
Rich Davis
All right, so let's. Let's get to Daniel Jones.
Dan Byer
We talked about dart, right?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
And the risks involved there. There's a lot of risk, reward. You're risking ruining this guy's confidence and career and foundation and start to his career, but he could turn it on and make the Giants a contender.
Patrick Mahomes
Scatter.
Dan Byer
Boo.
Rich Davis
He looked good. There's, like, certain things that.
Dan Byer
That. That look good for the Giants. Maybe he steps up.
Rich Davis
Like Danny G. Said, you saw C.J. stroud two years ago.
Dan Byer
Right.
Rich Davis
You saw Jaden Daniels last year. It's not wild to think a young quarterback could see early success.
Dan Byer
The Giants, they're like a bad woman, you know? They're known to ruin a good guy.
Rich Davis
I know. So, I mean, Scatter.
Dan Byer
Boo. Look what they did to Daniel Jones.
Rich Davis
Scatter.
Dan Byer
Boo.
Rich Davis
Malik, neighbors, Jackson, Dart. I almost feel like you have. You almost have the framework and some of the skeletal pieces to what the Giants are building towards.
Dan Byer
There's a lot of potential there. You don't want to rush it, though.
Rich Davis
You need a line. You need some other weapons. There's. There's still a lot of work to be done in New York in the Meadowlands, but this should be interesting. Jackson dart. It's risk, reward. I think the kid's got. He's got some. What do they call it, Moxie. I think he's got some. I think he's the type that wouldn't be ruined if he didn't have success at first. I think he's got some. Some huevos.
Dan Byer
Okay. But Daniel Jones was also in that situation and it just never worked, never clicked. Never the right fit for this guy.
Rich Davis
And.
Dan Byer
And his potential. He goes to Indiana now he's Indiana Jones. He's no longer Daniel Jones, he's Indiana Jones. And his numbers are comparable, like dead on to Josh Allen. So he went from guy struggling in New York with the Giants to Josh Allen, like numbers.
Rich Davis
He's. He went from this guy stinks to oh, wow, Daniel Jones is a really good NFL quarterback, but did you really.
Dan Byer
Think that he stunk or did you think he was in a weak ass situation?
Rich Davis
To be honest, I was sort of torn because as we all watch football closely, there were moments where you're like, yo, this guy's got some good football instincts. He's quick in the pocket when he needs to be. I just thought that, yeah, maybe you're circumstantial, but, you know, it's a life.
Dan Byer
Lesson and we say it all the time. Maybe you're just in a bad situation and you need to move somewhere else. That's life. That's what the people say. And the story here is Saquon Barkley, who also got a second chance, won a Super bowl, became the man on another team. They were teammates on the Giants. And Saquon says he's rooting for his former qb.
Rich Davis
In fact, he has a pretty good quote. Did you see, did you have one on that?
Dan Byer
Outside of the Philadelphia Eagles and myself, I don't want anyone else to perform at a high level besides Daniel Jones. I find that to be really nice and endearing.
Rich Davis
That's a really sweet word.
Dan Byer
They battled together in New York. They sort of battled and failed together in New York, but they both believed that there was more to this and more to their careers than what was in New York. He found success with the Eagles and he's wishing his buddy success in Indiana, but that's it. Because he has respect for him. And honestly, that carries a lot of. A lot of clout, as the kiddos say, even though it's a word, carries a lot of clout with me. Like, man, Saquon is saying he's wishing him well. That also implies that he always knew he was better than what was reflected in New York.
Rich Davis
And it also reminds you that.
Dan Byer
And that he's a good dude.
Rich Davis
It also reminds you that there was a really good relationship between Daniel Jones and Saquon, and they were probably almost commiserating together. Like, we know we got something. Why isn't it working? And then they go other places and it works. It's.
Dan Byer
And I think that's a very relatable sort of thing. You know, people that start out. Out together, like, there's dudes I root. Root for that I started out in radio together, and I see they're doing like my buddy Ruizudo does mornings in St. Louis. Yeah, we started in radio together, man. Seeing him kick ass in St. Louis and run that city. Mornings in St. Louis, like, I'm happy to see that, because I know where we started, and I feel like that's a relatable sort of thing that Saquon and Jones bond over together. And I was really nice to Saquon Barkley to say that he wishes him well.
Rich Davis
I think as a coworker and even as a fan, I think you could say there's people you came up with, you came up with in your career that you would root for. Even though they might not be in the same company as you, they might be a competitor, you do root for them. And I think as far as sports teams go, as a. As a fan, there's guys that were on your team and it didn't work out, and there's a part of you that's like, well, you know what? As long as I'm not playing my team, I'm always going to, like, I always look at Jacob deGrom's box score, and I'm like, man, I hope that kid does good. Yeah, he's not a kid anymore. But, you know, I. I like to see that DeGrom still has it.
Dan Byer
Danny G. Posed another side question, too. It's like, you know, we sort of. I mean, Covid is what got us out of espn. Covid happened, right? So the world happened and contracts ended and that sort of thing. He's like, yeah. If you left sort of on weird terms like that, though, do you still root for the other people that. That you moved on from?
Rich Davis
Oh, there's people I root for at.
Dan Byer
Espn, and I pose that question to everybody. Like, do you root for former co workers and colleagues? Do you understand where Saquon's coming from?
Rich Davis
Give me the analogy, because I Definitely do.
Dan Byer
But I wonder if everybody subscrib to that or do you have, you know, what level you were for a few attitudes?
Rich Davis
There's a level. You know what level it is? You ever go through a breakup? But it's not on bad terms. Like, you really. The girl was good, just not for you. And you're like, man, I really want her to be happy. I hope she finds a great guy. Just not quite as cool as me. Like, that's how your mindset is. Like, I want her to find a good guy, but not me, I think.
Dan Byer
And when you really break that with. Saquon said too. He basically said, I don't care about anything. Any other giant or the organization or the co. I don't care about any, but Daniel Jones is my guy. Who do you.
Rich Davis
Who do you root for? Espn.
Dan Byer
That's an interesting one, man. A lot of people, actually, now that you mentioned, because we made a lot of good, I guess, friendships.
Rich Davis
I'll tell you what, when I see George Sodano's big head covering a big NBA game, I'll shoot him a text. They're like, yo, George, you're killing it, man.
Dan Byer
We work with George. I root for George.
Rich Davis
I root for Gary Striesky.
Dan Byer
Yeah, Gary.
Rich Davis
Some of the guys from.
Dan Byer
Is that the Asian Covino?
Rich Davis
Yeah, yeah, Gary Striesky. Gary. Yeah. Okay. He's a. He's a younger, handsome work center with Randy.
Dan Byer
They do a great job. Hercules and Mauricio that worked for the Portes from Aura Nunca. Yeah, they do a great job. I mean, there's. There's certain people.
Sam
You want me to go over the list now of all the ones you hate?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I'll give it to you.
Dan Byer
Is Clinton Yates on When we're on? Because I'm not going to root for him anymore.
Rich Davis
If that you could only moderate. You could root for him to come in second place.
Dan Byer
Yeah, but, yeah, I think it's a normal thing, but you rarely hear that, and that's why it's. It's newsworthy and that's why it stands out. It's Saquon taking a cool approach on his former quarterback. And I think that's a bond that we sometimes underestimate. Hey, remember Terrell Owens? I'm sorry. Terrell Owens cried about his quarterback. That's my quarterback, Tony Romo, my quarterback. Daniel Jones and Saquon once had that relationship, and he still roots for his dude. And I think pretty cool. That's my quarterback. So that's the story. Any other colleagues in your life that you still root for. Based on that, I think it's okay to do so.
Rich Davis
No diggity no doubt. Now, we got a lot still to get to here on cnr. In fact, you want to say hi to Jason in Texas. He's been on hold. He just wanted to touch on some of the things we spoke about. First hour. Everything from Jerry Jones saying hell no to a Micah Parsons tribute. Robotic umpires. Jackson Dart. We, we've covered a lot. We'll take any photos.
Dan Byer
877-9-Fox and of course everything at Covino and Rich. What up Jason?
Rich Davis
What's up, Jay? Hey guys. How are you? We're good, man. What's on your mind? Great show. Thank you. Hey, two. Two quick things. Number one, Jerry Jones does not want to rip that band aid off getting open that scab because that was not a popular move for people down here. Yeah. Number two is somehow you got to get movie rights for the robot umpires to put Bob Euchre on there. Saying just a bit outside some old school, some Bob Euchre. AI, get the family. Thank you, buddy. I do want to talk a little baseball if that's cool because I know we have my home Showtime trivia. We'll talk more NFL. But Kavino, there's six games left and your Yankees are in the clear. Danny G. Your Dodgers are in the clear. You guys are post season teams. You're barring some wild ridiculous thing you're in, right? Have they both officially clinched some type of wild card spot?
Sam
Dodgers are definitely in the postseason and.
Dan Byer
What'S cool about this season is you could say that the brewers have all the tools to take it. But history shows that the best record doesn't always come through as the statue rarely comes through.
Rich Davis
The stat showed that seven out of the last 30 World Series since the strike year and baseball came back with the wild card and all that. Seven times in 30 seasons the best team won the World Series.
Dan Byer
So factor that stat into this equation. Plus, I don't think they're battle tested and ready for this moment. I don't know. It's yet to be proven. I'm just saying it's yet to be proven. Right? But you factor that into this it's anybody season like last year. I'm like, man, the Dodgers are so dominant, right? And the Yankees were so good. But you knew the Dodgers deep down had it. I don't know whose season it is. That's what makes it extra interesting, I think heading into the postseason. Ghost season.
Rich Davis
Dodgers and Padres are both post season bound. They're Within a couple games of each other. There's no domination there. Millie Walke, Danby's brewers look the best.
Dan Byer
But you're right, it's truly who's hot?
Rich Davis
I saw a locker room talk given by Yelich that really shows you what a team leader he is about living in the moment and how we're. If we go the distance, we are not only friends now, we are part of each other forever.
Dan Byer
And on a side note, we interviewed him like, the nicest guy. Like, such a nice dude. So unassuming.
Rich Davis
He's a west coast guy. He's a local dude, right?
Commercial Announcer 2
Yes.
Sam
Agoura Hills, California.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Meaning like he didn't walk around like he was a superstar. He was just like a nice, humble kid. And meanwhile, his guy's hitting bombs.
Rich Davis
I'm hoping the Cubbies continue their losing streak. They lost four to Cincinnati, which helped my Mets not one little bit. Cubbies are in and I think the team, if you had to pick a favorite right now, I think it might be Philadelphia. But then you could say, well, Zach Wheeler, their ace, the guy that would start game one in any series in baseball, is out. So where does that leave them?
Dan Byer
Not a good situation.
Rich Davis
You know, Detroit, who is the best team in baseball for most of the year, could very well not even make the playoffs, Right?
Dan Byer
Playoffs.
Rich Davis
Playoffs.
Commercial Announcer 2
So think about that like just at the All Star break and I'm so. Wheelers out.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Commercial Announcer 2
Scubal and the Tigers may not make the postseason. Mizorowski is probably coming out of the bullpen for the brewers in the postseason. Like, things have so much has changed. So much.
Rich Davis
At one point in the year, The Mets were 20 something games over.500. They are now 80 long season and 76 with six games to go. And then you wonder like, I have, I have friends that are talking about, well, they're playing this team. I think at this stage of the game, anyone could beat anyone. Baseball. That's what's crazy, crazy about baseball.
Dan Byer
It's not like this postseason especially, I really feel it's up for grabs when whoever catches fire at just the right time.
Rich Davis
And on any given day with the starting pitching and it doesn't. Nothing matters in baseball as far as all that stuff. Meaning in football, when the Browns upset the packers, it's like, oh, my God, how could that happen in baseball? The Mets could sweep the best team and then they lose two out of three against the Nationals. We got six games to go. And there's a part of me that's like, if you sneak in, do you really genuinely Feel like sneak it to the playoffs and all is forgiven. Because I have met fan friends that are like, they don't even deserve it. In fact, I almost hope they don't make it. And I'm like, why, dude? They, if they sneak in, then all.
Dan Byer
It'S almost like, well, that's the conversation itself. Like, do you want to be teased and be dragged through the postseason just to be let down or would you rather them not make it at all?
Rich Davis
But my, my point is win 84 games and way under deliver. But you made the postseason. If you made the postseason with 100 wins.
Dan Byer
Really pessimistic.
Rich Davis
Yeah, just. It's wild to me. Toronto, your Yankees have this weird shot to catch up. Toronto is only two games ahead with six to go. So baseball in a really cool spot right now.
Dan Byer
And the rest of the Yankees games are easy games for the most part.
Rich Davis
Cleveland trailing Detroit by only a game and they're about to start a three game set within an hour. So yo, baseball's popping. We've been saying it all year. I don't care what anyone says.
Dan Byer
Anyone.
Rich Davis
Season, baseball, baseball, baseball. And next week I heard good old Mad Dog Russo. You're old pal.
Dan Byer
I miss Mad Dog.
Rich Davis
Hey, what's going on buddies?
Dan Byer
You know, I root him, I root for him though. Like Saquon and Daniel Jones.
Rich Davis
Mad Dog Russo made a great point. The teams that have clinched that will probably have a first round by Milwaukee, Toronto, Cleveland or Detroit. Right. I'm sorry, Seattle, likely these are the smaller market teams. Wild card week, which is next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday is going to feature Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, maybe the Mets, Padres, all the big markets. Whoa, team. So baseball wild card ratings could be through the roof because all the great teams that are smaller market again, Cleveland, Toronto, Milwaukee, they got to buy. So you're going to see guys, you're going to see Red Sox, Yankees, Cubbies, Dodgers, all your like legacy teams all in do or die like wild card, three game sets.
Dan Byer
I'd be realistic if the Yankees were playing like ass, right?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Dan Byer
Because for a while I was thinking they might be ass.
Rich Davis
Yeah. But then they turned it on.
Dan Byer
They turned it on.
Rich Davis
Now I'm going to end up paying for half your daughter. Sweet 16th.
Dan Byer
You got free, you got Rodon, you got heel on the hill. King of the heel. You got their started pitching which is working.
Rich Davis
I really feel if they, if they.
Dan Byer
Can get past the Red Sox there it's. I think they got a solid shot.
Rich Davis
They have as good as. They have as good a shot, a good a shot as anyone And I'll say this, the Red Sox are the.
Dan Byer
Team just because certain teams have their number. Have their number this year. So it's the Red Sox. I think Yankee fans sort of fear the Red Sox a little bit.
Rich Davis
Of course I want to hate on you.
Dan Byer
Brings back that rivalry.
Rich Davis
I want to hate on you, Yankees, because that's just the fun of our show. Mets fan, Yankees fan. Danny's a Dodgers guy. The last point I'll make is come playoff time, that's when your rotation and how you use your bullpen and what starters you move to middle relief. And Dodgers have infamously been known to somehow master the bullpen game, which is crazy. Teams win World Series with bullpen games. Now the Yankees with Max Freed at the top of that rotation with Rodone number two and the way they've been.
Dan Byer
Pitching and they got Schlitler or Luis Hill who was rookie of the year last year. Watch your mouth.
Rich Davis
I said slitler that. That's a tough battle right there. I mean, I thought Philly had the best pitching, but Wheeler gone. They might be number two to the Yankees right now. All right, well, listen, you want to play my home Showtime trivia. We're going to get some more NFL next. We had to talk a little baseball, though, because it's so on my mind right now. In fact, like in an hour from now, I'm going to be nervously driving.
Dan Byer
Every game counts, man. Every game counts. I'm getting exciting.
Rich Davis

He's really living it up, man.

Patrick Mahomes
I want everybody to love me, not just the refs.
Rich Davis
It's time for some NFL trivia. I'm here.
Patrick Mahomes
I'm here.
Rich Davis
Yes, we know you're here.
Patrick Mahomes
I pass. Patrick Mahomes here to play Showtime Holmes trivia.
Sam
All right. FSR security walking our broke Patrick into the main studio.
Patrick Mahomes
All right, guys. What's up, fellas?
Rich Davis
Hey, what's up, Patrick?
Dan Byer
How are you?
Patrick Mahomes
Good, man.
Sam
Congrats on your first W of the season.
Patrick Mahomes
Better believe it. And number two against the Ravens. That's right. Next week. Let's go.
Rich Davis
Good to see you, buddy.
Sam
Let's meet the contest.
Patrick Mahomes
They're gonna beat Me with all those fumbles.
Rich Davis
No way, buddy.
Sam
24.
Patrick Mahomes
Where does Henry get his dates at? Fumble dot com.
Rich Davis
Ah, good one.
Patrick Mahomes
Get it, Bumble. Fumble.
Rich Davis
Fumble. Thank you, Jon.
Sam
You have a dad haircut and dad jokes now.
Rich Davis
All right.
Patrick Mahomes
Hey, my haircut's tight.
Sam
No, it's not.
Patrick Mahomes
24 jeans.
Rich Davis
Hey, happy 30th, by the way. Happy belated.
Sam
All right, 24 time winner, Rich Davis. Hola, 21 time champion, Dan Byer.
Rich Davis
Hello, hello.
Sam
Nine time winner. Spotty boy in the house. I'll make it over 10 and looking to win a CNR Nerf football. An IOU for one. @ least on the studio lines. All right, Buyer, would you love to travel too? Beautiful. Denver, Colorado. Kennewick, Washington or Placerville, California.
Commercial Announcer 2
I think the leaves have turned in Denver. You know, in the Colorado, maybe in the mountains. Let's go check out some fall foliage.
Patrick Mahomes
I like it.
Sam
That is Sam in Denver. What up?
Patrick Mahomes
Hey, Danny G. Not much. Not much.
Rich Davis
Ready to see what's going on? Yeah.
Patrick Mahomes
The aspens are turning.
Rich Davis
It's about to snow, so we gotta go fast. Break out the hoodies.
Commercial Announcer 2
Let's go.
Sam
Here we go. Rules for showtime, homes. NFL trivia. The first contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If there's a tie, we have a tiebreaker question. Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next question. Are you ready?
Rich Davis
Let's do it.
Patrick Mahomes
All right, I'm here. Patrick Mahomes. And also be here someday. How many square feet is the Pro Football hall of Fame in Camp? A, 118,000 square feet. 141,000 square feet. B or C, 73,000 square feet.
Rich Davis
Sam.
Sam
Oh, Sam got in there first.
Rich Davis
73,000.
Sam
No, sorry.
Rich Davis
Rich.
Sam
Rich for the steel, Patrick.
Rich Davis
I'm gonna go with the middle one. 118, eh?
Sam
Yes, correct.
Patrick Mahomes
That's right. Was originally 19,000 square feet before three expansions. And speaking of square feet, this guy Spot here has the squarest feet I've ever seen.
Rich Davis
Our video guy was on this.
Patrick Mahomes
What is he wearing? Does he wear square Jordans? What are those?
Dan Byer
Thanks.
Patrick Mahomes
What are those?
Dan Byer
That's enough, Patrick.
Sam
All right, Rich. Rich is halfway to a W. We move on to round two.
Patrick Mahomes
All right, round two. Patrick Mahomes. Showtime. Holmes trivia. What was I once quoted saying about self confidence? A, Never change who you are and be the best you could be. B, after the Chargers smashed us in Brazil, I couldn't even show my Face.
Dan Byer
For some fogo de chao.
Patrick Mahomes
Love. Rodizio. Or C. In middle school, I went through a bit of an awkward phase, but I got to the other side and stayed true to myself.
Rich Davis
C. C. No, I mean, I don't want Sam.
Sam
A, I like how Sam is swinging there, though. Swinging for the fences.
Patrick Mahomes
Round three.
Sam
So rich and spot on the board as we go to the third round.
Patrick Mahomes
Okay, I'm here. I know this well because I'm four. Zero against him. What is the name of the Jacksonville Jaguar Stadium? A, Everbank, B, M and T Bank, or C Everready?
Sam
Dan Buyer.
Rich Davis
A.
Sam
Yes.
Patrick Mahomes
Hey, EverBank. I'm Four Zero. They are against them. That's my spot.
Rich Davis
You know Dan Byer. What's funny is I feel like when I was a kid, I could tell you every stadium name. And now as an adult working in sports radio, I'd be 50. 50.
Commercial Announcer 2
It's really tough.
Rich Davis
Remember when you were a little kid? You like, that was one of your little memorization things. Like, I know everybody. Every stadium in ballpark. They were cool names. Now they're like Acro. Sure. And you know, Meadows bank.
Dan Byer
And just.
Rich Davis
And they changed.
Dan Byer
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Remember the 49ers at Monster3Com? Like there's a million. There's been a million.
Commercial Announcer 2
That's right.
Sam
All right, so a three way tie. Rich Spotty Buyer as we go to round four.
Patrick Mahomes
All right, round four. Who rushed for the most yards in week three of the NFL season? Was it A, Jordan Mason, B, James Cook, or C, David Montgomery?
Sam
Dan Fire. Oh, yeah. He gave you a couple seconds there.
Rich Davis
He gave you the beat. Sam.
Sam
C. Yes. David Montgomery is the winner.
Patrick Mahomes
Ran for 151 yards in his Lions win over the Ravens. And we're gonna win all over the Ravens next week. And before I go, guys, would you rather Metallica, Taylor Swift or Adele for halftime time?
Sam
Metallica.
Rich Davis
I'm gonna go. Your pal Swifty Patrick.
Patrick Mahomes
I'll take anybody over Adele. I'm just saying, you know, nothing against her, she's great and all, but come on now. Are we trying to put people to sleep or have a good time?
Rich Davis
That's what I'm saying.
Patrick Mahomes
That's what I'm saying.
Rich Davis
I mean, you hope to be there, right?
Patrick Mahomes
That's what I'm saying. I hope to be there. So, hey, I'm rooting for Swizzle, but I'll take Metallica. I'll take anybody over Adele.
Rich Davis
Who knew Patrick didn't like Adele that much time?
Patrick Mahomes
Get out of here. All right, guys. Thank you, guys.
Sam
That's DB's 22nd win.
Patrick Mahomes
Hey, congratulations. Save some for the rest of us, Dan.
Rich Davis
Well, speaking of db, let's go to Dan Beyerford. Later, guys.
Sam
Thank you, Patrick, and thank you, Sam, for playing.
Rich Davis
Yeah, later, buddy. Thanks, Sam.
Commercial Announcer 2
I thought you were thinking Sam, our Sam, but we had a double Sam.
Rich Davis
I'll say. I'll thank Sam.
Dan Byer
Thanks, Sam.
Commercial Announcer 2
Thanks, Sam. Heisman favorite no Gloma quarterback John Matiere out indefinitely as he will have surgery. Tomorrow's repair a hand injury suffered in their win last Saturday over Auburn. Head coach Brent Venable says they expect Matier to return this season. Oklahoma State fired head coach Mike Gundy as he was in his 21st season at his alma mater. The school owes Gundy $15 million as he had three and a half years left on his contract. Giants are starting first round pick Jackson Dart at quarterback in Week four against the Chargers. Russell Wilson will serve as the backup to Dart on Sunday. Tampa Bay Times says Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans going to miss three to four weeks with a hamstring strain. Commander's wide receiver Terry McLaurin is getting a second opinion on a quad injury that could force him to miss Week 4 against the Falcons. Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan has given up his play calling. Dut coming up in Week four, quarterback coach Beau Hardigree will be calling the plays as they face the Texans. Texans today released Veteran defensive back C.J. gardner Johnson. Major League Baseball will use the automated Ball Strike challenge system in 2026. That's not only spring training. We're talking regular season and postseason as well. New York Liberty fired head coach Sandy Brandello after four seasons and just one year removed from winning the WNBA title. Guys, back to you.
Rich Davis
Thank you.
Dan Byer
Thank you, Dan.
Rich Davis
Dan Byer, you're the man, as always. Thank you. D.B. patrick, huh? Good to see Mahomes.
Dan Byer
That guy is in a zone. He's looking a little more confident, though. Yeah. So after a win, it's good to see a confident, relaxed Patrick Mahomes.
Rich Davis
You know. You know, Danny G. You got in my head because, remember I said, like, oh, they're going to crush the Chiefs. The Ravens. Even though they're 1 and 2. The Ravens just look like they. They can't stop much, right? I mean, they.
Dan Byer
Their defense look like ass. Their defense might be ass.
Rich Davis
So with that said, like, maybe they're. The fact that Baltimore is only favored by two.
Dan Byer
I'm sorry, buns. As the kids say, the fact that.
Rich Davis
The Ravens are only favored by less than a field goal. I thought there was going to be like seven and a half.
Sam
So the Ravens look like they're going to have to be in some shootouts right now.
Rich Davis
Well, we'll see. Now, I said before, what are the Reds doing? That I think is a cool move, but I wonder if it backfires because sometimes you get a young team. Like the Reds are a young team, right? They're no longer your Joey Vato Reds, they're your Ellie Della Cruz. Some young kids, right, because they have a three game set against the Pirates, which by the way, I was. Sam, can you throw that game on in two minutes. It starts at 3:40 Pacific Time. Reds three games at home before they finish the season against the brewers, which I'm hoping Dan Byers brewers sweep the Reds help the Mets, who knows? But the Reds are practically giving away tickets. I heard our Buddy Bersch and I were talking about this, what they're trying to do, very cheap refreshments, beer, hot dogs, food, tickets. They're pretty much being like, hey, you want to take a dollar? Just come. They want to fill up the stadium in Cincinnati to really give the Reds that fan support for three days. Because it really is. They are in the driver's seat. They are tied with the Mets. I mean, but they own the tiebreaker.
Dan Byer
That's an awesome move. What do they got to lose there?
Rich Davis
But I'm just saying they're gonna make.
Dan Byer
It in concessions and they're rooting their team on. I think that's, I think has a good move.
Rich Davis
They're pretty much saying, with a week to go and you're actually in the driver's seat ahead of the Mets, why should we not have 50,000 people at. What is that? The Great American, right?
Dan Byer
I think Cincinnati. Yeah, I think that's a solid, solid move. It just makes perfect sense.
Rich Davis
So you're going to see a pretty packed house over the next couple days in Cincinnati. And by the way, our buddy guy hit us up in Cincinnati and he said up until a couple weeks ago, everyone was like, yeah, yeah, who cares about the Reds? Joe Burrow, Bengals, Bengals. Burrow gets hurt, Reds get hot. And he's like, all of a sudden, for the first time this season, people are like, yeah, guys, the Reds, right? So we'll see. In fact, that game starts right now. Reds, Pirates and Mets, Cubbies, that happens in about 20 minutes. So good. National League Baseball tonight. And of course, the big game, Tigers, Guardians. That's right. If the Guardians win tonight, you realize they'll be tied with five games to go. And less than a month ago, they were up like easily double digits like.
Dan Byer
That changed a lot. Like I said, not to sound cliche but it's a long season dude.
Rich Davis
One when one team goes 91 over the last 10 and the other team goes 1 9, you could flip a division real quick. So we'll get to some little more baseball and some NFL to wrap up the show next right here, Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, we're on to Cincinnati.

So $8 tickets for the Reds Pirates game must be paying off because Reds got out of the first inning. No runs for the Pirates. Come on, Pittsburgh.
Dan Byer
I can't believe you're rooting that hard for the Pirates with your eye patch on and everything, man. During the break, Rich was listening to a shanty, a sea shanty. He's really fired up about this.
Rich Davis
Once was a team from Cincinnati that.

Rich Davis
That's what I've heard.
Dan Byer
Pirates favorite number one with Pirates guys, just so you know, as the Pirates welcome to Treasure Island.
Rich Davis
Let me ask you a pregunta a question for everyone around the room before we watch baseball. All eyes on.
Dan Byer
Okay, well, I have a question too, so make it snappy like a rubber band sandwich.
Rich Davis
That's a good one. While I watch the Pirates and Reds on one eye are. And the other eye is on the Mets and Cubs of the NFL injury so far, what's the most devastating?
Dan Byer
Joe Burrow.
Rich Davis
Is it. Well, Burrow is still not officially deemed out for the year. Is it it James Conner and all of a sudden Arizona's out there. Star running back. Is it the 49ers losing Nick Bosa? Is it CD Lamb being out for like a month or so? Like, what's the.
Dan Byer
Yeah, Bosa. That hurts a lot.
Rich Davis
Is the Bosa one. Does the Bosa one take the Niners from like, ooh, maybe they could contend to. Well, they ain't going to contend with Najee Harris with the Chargers. Najee Harris and Ken.
Dan Byer
What Achilles injury, losing your quarterback? I think Joe Burrow is pretty drastic.
Rich Davis
That could be the one.
Sam
Yeah. I would say Burrows number one on the board right now.
Rich Davis
This was the year where, I mean, what they started. They started two and oh, and then got smashed. So you were like, oh, wow. They didn't start oh, and three and have to fight back.
Dan Byer
They, you know, they started smash, smash, smash. He's going to come back at some point, right?
Rich Davis
Like, he's got. He had surgery on turf toe. Is. Is the prognostic. Is the prognosis. Prognosis? You should have let me struggle, Sam.
Dan Byer
Oh, Sam, struggling. Don't you know the phrase the prognostication?
Rich Davis
I would have struggled through that trust. But I. I think three months, like we think about. All right, so what is it, End of September, end of October? November, December, like you think, without Joe Burrow in a division with the Ravens, who are going to battle back with the Steelers, who, you know, look at what Aaron Rodgers has done so far. They're 2 and 1 and a pretty good AFC. Do you think the Bengals are a factor even in the end of December without Burrow?
Dan Byer
I mean, first instinct. No, no.
Rich Davis
It's just. I feel like another wasted year for the Bengals and Burrow. And I know you, Danny G saw those comparisons to Andrew Luck, right? Where it's like, is Joe Burrow this decade's Andrew Luck? Where it's like, yo, one of the best. I mean, this guy's generational, but will it ever pan out?
Sam
Yeah, he's been sacked more in the same time period.
Rich Davis
Yikes. Oh, boy.
Dan Byer
My question real quick, as far as.
Sam
How long he's played so far and.
Dan Byer
You could answer, yeah, man, I do. He can't avoid injuries at this point.
Rich Davis
I feel bad for those guys. I mean, they're making a ton of money. But there are guys where like you saw Nick Bosa, who has his third knee injury burrow went down again. When you see Bosa walking to the tunnel and he looks up to what probably is like his family or maybe John lynch and he gives a thumbs down with a sad look. Didn't that like, didn't that hit you a little bit like, man, this guy works so hard and these are young.
Dan Byer
Men and yeah, this is our liveshood short their livelihood. Of course, it could be a season.
Rich Davis
Ruin and you never quite know if you're going to get out out there again or be the same.
Dan Byer
Or be the same. Yeah, it's tough. My question was sort of simple, bigger non story being that Jimmy Kimmel's back. And when I say non story, I'm not saying that freedom of speech and your rights is a non story. I'm saying like he's already back, bigger story. Jimmy Kimmel or Torpedo bats?
Rich Davis
Oh, that's a good question.
Dan Byer
I compare them only because it was all the buzz for a second and then everybody moved on to the next again.
Rich Davis
Don't. We're not fighting about free speech or.
Dan Byer
Trump or this isn't about politics. This is about Everyone was devastated only to find out he's back already.
Rich Davis
Relax.
Dan Byer
He was never fired. He was suspended.
Rich Davis
Kimmel suspended back like two days later or what. Everyone thought Torpedo bats were the rage and the Yankees were sort of cheating and all the Torpedo bats, that was.
Dan Byer
Like the biggest story going for three days and then we never talked about it again.
Rich Davis
Well, I'll say when you say bigger non story, I have my answer and my answer is the torpedo bet. Because I think in a decade from now you may put Torpedo bets on a list of the biggest all time non stories. It was the number one sports headline for what? Sam, you remember what, a couple days.
Dan Byer
Which never makes sense. Ten days maybe because they had been used the year before.
Sam
Yeah, it was a couple of weeks.
Dan Byer
And all of a sudden it was like, you know, no one could wrap their head around this new invention. And is it legal? It's like, yeah, obvious. It's legal, you dumbass.
Rich Davis
And each team in Major league baseball, by the way, warning track shot for Cincinnati. They're out of the first inning. All right, Every team has a couple guys who use the torped pito bat.
Dan Byer
End the story, non stories. That's all you could chime in at Covino and Rich.
Rich Davis
Alright, Arriba d', Arci, baby.
Dan Byer
See you in the promised land.
Rich Davis
God, I'm nervous. Let's go Mets.
