It was in that moment I caught who was staring back at me in betrayal or more like what, my insurance bill. With trembling hands I grabbed my phone and switched to geico, saving about $900 in the process and never to be betrayed again. Now that was blood. Riveting.
Steve Covino
It feels good when the story ends with savings. It feels good to Geico.

Rich Davis
Today's Friday
Steve Covino
G is here.
Rich Davis
The let's go Rage, yeah.
Steve Covino
So strong.
Rich Davis
I heard my 6 year old kid
Steve Covino
say it hasn't gone away. Let's go. Became a thing. It never went away.
Rich Davis
Well, never go away.
Steve Covino
I mean, it's always been around. But it became a rally cry for the weenials.
Rich Davis
Let's go.
Steve Covino
Yeah. So I'm Steve Covino. Nice to see you. Hey, that's Rich Davis. And we are Covino and Rich. We got Brain wave, we got prizes, we got weekend hobnobbin. But right now we gotta rock out. Let's go. And by the way, speaking of rocking out, is today the anniversary? You said you were a hero back
Rich Davis
in your teen days. I was. It was not the day Kurt Cobain died, but it was this week.
Steve Covino
Oh, it was this week.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Oh, well, anyway, I'm a big rock and roll fan. Actually more of a rock Rich is more of a roll fan. Danny G is here. Hip hop guru. I was saying, what would you say is your primary music choice?
Danny G
I mean, probably grunge music, but like rock and roll. Going out to grunge, blues, classic rock.
Steve Covino
You're gonna say early polka. I thought you were a Weird Al fan. Like an early Weird Al kind of guy.
Danny G
Listen to whether it's John Candy and Home Alone or Weird Al, like I'll get down with the poker.
Rich Davis
Ever heard my, my big hit Poker, Poker, poker.
Danny G
What were they again?
Rich Davis
The
Danny G
wankers or something?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I was thinking. I was trying to think of the name. I forget.
Steve Covino
Actually, Iowa. Sam makes some great selections here on the show. He's our sound architect. He knows his music. And Loincron. You know what? Loincron's got your updates and I know he's hard at work. We'll find out what he listens to. I don't know what Loincron listens to in his spare time. Would you like to share, Isaac?
Isaac
Vin Scully.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Sings the hits just over and over.
Steve Covino
That's so funny.
Danny G
Oh, the Kenosha Kickers.
Steve Covino
Yeah. So there we go.
Danny G
Not the Waukesha Wankers.
Steve Covino
We'll go to Lowen Cron later for an update, but he's hanging out and he'll be playing Brain Wave with us. It's your chance to win some prizes. 87799 on Fox. It's a pleasure to be here. I hope you're having a great week again. So pumped to watch some baseball. Just look smackson and relax in this weekend.
Rich Davis
Now today there's a story and it involves George Springer and to quote, like an Italian guy from Brooklyn.
Steve Covino
The balls, the nerf of this balls on this guy.
Rich Davis
So George Springer pulling some antics. Of all people. And we're going to get into that conversation of. Of. Of all people. You should never blank. There's a story about tortured fan bases. We saw one unfurl and unfold last night with the Colorado Rockies. But I wanted to start the show with a guy that was getting a haircut. I'm sorry, not a haircut. A sweet haircut.
Steve Covino
A sweet haircut. And by the way, when you advertise your haircut as a sweet haircut, it better look super sweet.
Rich Davis
And I'm talking about Todd Monkin, the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He happened to miss the coach's group photo.
Steve Covino
Aha. He didn't miss it. They rescheduled it.
Rich Davis
And he had an appointment.
Steve Covino
And he had an appointment.
Rich Davis
He was on the app, the cut.
Steve Covino
He's like, yo, he wanted to be in the team picture, the head coaching picture. But he was getting a little snip, snip here, snip, snip there.
Rich Davis
Then here's what he said about it.
Todd Monken
Oh, I didn't. I really don't give a. I mean, it had nothing to do with me. I mean, they moved the meeting. I didn't miss it. I was just trying to get a sweet haircut. I mean, that's what I was trying to do. And then they moved the meeting. Now, you can blame that. I should have been at the meeting when they moved it up, and my ass would have known that's when it was. Yeah, okay, I gotcha. And was it disappointing? Bet your ass it was disappointing. Wait. In my whole life to be a head coach, I'm not in the head coach's picture. You'd think with AI, they could have done that quickly and got me in there, but no, it's the way it is. It'll be under the bridge. And what will matter most is whether we. How we move from here and do we win or not. That ultimately none of that will matter.
Rich Davis
I love how he pulled a you bet your ass that's a good coach line.
Steve Covino
Right. By the way, Danny G. Make this clear for me. So again, head coach of the Browns, Todd Monkin, didn't miss the hair. Didn't miss the.
Rich Davis
Oh, he didn't miss the haircut.
Steve Covino
He got a sweet haircut. He didn't miss the team photo. He was getting a haircut. They rescheduled it, but they ended up putting it out without him anyway. Yeah, that's what I'm getting at, though. Out of here.
Spot
The way I Read it was that he was. He wasn't there after they rescheduled it.
Steve Covino
Yeah, but they put it in a program or whatever.
Rich Davis
We don't know yet.
Steve Covino
Okay. Because they could still Photoshop in there. Right. Or use AI but he almost puts it in a way, like, as if he already saw it without him. You know, that's why I'm confused by the story because he's almost saying, like, well, they could have done this, but it is what it is.
Spot
Yeah. He's talking as if it was a done deal.
Rich Davis
Right.
Steve Covino
So, you know, do they still have the chances at a way to make it right to just use AI to throw him in there as if he was there? You know, that's happened before.
Rich Davis
I saw a AI of him in a hot tub with Mike V. But that's a different story.
Steve Covino
You know, I think there's an old story. I'm gonna have to look this up because now it's all coming back to me. It was so long ago, but it's all coming back to me. I think someone was missing out of a Yankees team picture and they used Michael K. To fill in the space and then just put that person over.
Rich Davis
Michael K. Put Michael K. In a Yankee's uniform.
Danny G
I just remember there's a stand in.
Steve Covino
No, I remember him telling the story that they used him as a stand in and he photoshopped over him because they couldn't make it. Now not making a team picture, that is like. That sucks. I think that sucks. I would feel left out. And when you're the head coach, honestly, I'm surprised they didn't say, you know what?
Rich Davis
We're.
Todd Monken
We.
Steve Covino
We're going to have to reschedule this.
Rich Davis
31 other guys that were there, but
Steve Covino
he's the head coach. I think that's a major disrespect to the guy. I really do.
Spot
Yeah. And he's coming from being an offensive coordinator, so this is his big break as an NFL coach. His first opportunity in one of those photos.
Steve Covino
Yeah. He's slighted here, in my opinion.
Rich Davis
Guys, I have a story that's pretty much identical. I went to the Dominican Republic with my wife a couple weeks ago. Right. We were on vacation, and because of scheduling, they changed team picture day at West Hills baseball. So I'm not in my team's photo. Same level of disrespect.
Spot
So the winningest coach in the Valley.
Steve Covino
You know what I mean? You're a big part of the team.
Rich Davis
I'm not in the picture.
Danny G
We have the technology now to just plop you right in there, Mike. Okay, let me tell you a quick,
Rich Davis
quick story, Mr. Anti AI.
Danny G
No, I was saying not even using AI. So my grandmother's 80th birthday, she's gone. She's been gone for 15 years. So this one, like, early 2000, her 80th birthday. My sister was supposed to make it to her birthday party at this restaurant for a family photo. All the family turned up for this. She was late.
Steve Covino
She missed.
Danny G
She missed the photo. Everyone was livid. My grandma was hurt, Livid.
Steve Covino
Just sad.
Rich Davis
But we here, I'm only 81, we
Danny G
took my sister's picture and photoshopped her right on the corner. And it looked a little phony because it's early 2000s, but it ended up being like, hey, we got everybody in there.
Rich Davis
So did your grandmother say, heavens to Betsy at any point?
Danny G
Probably. She was born in 1921, so she probably grew up with.
Rich Davis
God bless her. Rest in peace. I was Sam's grandma. But you know, what can I tell you?
Spot
Grok, is this picture doctored?
Rich Davis
Could I tell you I'm glad you said that I was Sam, because that's where I want to go with this real quick. Because Big Mike, who runs this place, who he was very quick to be like, you know, guys, there's a big difference between photoshopping someone in or out of a photo. And I said to Covino, let's say we all went for a sweet dinner, right?
Steve Covino
Like a show dinner with sweet haircuts.
Rich Davis
You damn right. You bet your ass.
Steve Covino
By the way, there's so many thoughts I have with the story. The haircut was not that sweet. I looked at it.
Rich Davis
I looked at it real close.
Steve Covino
It wasn't the sweetest haircut.
Rich Davis
What did you want, like some sweet, like, precision fade?
Steve Covino
Just. Okay. I thought maybe like a sweet burst fade or something.
Danny G
Same barber as Mark Davis.
Steve Covino
Yeah, it was like a super cuts. I don't know. And John, it was like a great clips.
Rich Davis
I mean, looks like you went to a place that could have took walkins.
Steve Covino
It was okay.
Spot
You mean you don't think he had his personal barber flown in for this?
Steve Covino
Yeah, just an okay haircut.
Rich Davis
He's not Montro 99. You know who that is? There's a barber named Montro 99. That was the guy that used to do Big Papi's beard. And all the ballers around, baseball, basketball, football, like, this guy would travel.
Steve Covino
He was the most coveted barber, like, in the early to mid 2000s.
Rich Davis
I don't know what he's doing now.
Spot
Sweet lineups I don't know what he's
Steve Covino
doing now, but he know Vic Blends. But he was the guy back then for Vic Blends.
Rich Davis
This is a fun fact. It might have been BSing you, Danny. Remember when Manny Ramirez was a dodger for a minute?
Spot
Duh. Manny would.
Rich Davis
When Manny was out here, he wore number 99 in tribute to Montreal. 99, his traveling barber. That's not even a joke.
Steve Covino
That popular. Yeah, and he was also used in the NBA once word got out he was cutting up everybody. Yeah.
Rich Davis
Now it's all about Vic Blens, who he met at the all star game.
Steve Covino
Right. He was there.
Rich Davis
So my question is this. Let's say we all go for a sweet show dinner, Danny G. We put on our Sunday's best. We go for a nice steak dinner. Me, you, Covino, Spot. And we'll even invite Isaac. Hi, Isaac.
Isaac
Who's paying?
Rich Davis
I'll pay.
Isaac
Oh, I'm there.
Rich Davis
And let's just say I was. Sam can't make it. And this photo is a really nice photo. It's our show, right? It's like all of us that work together every day, is it legit for us to be like, well, I'll just photoshop Sam into the photo?
Steve Covino
I think so. You know why? Again, why?
Rich Davis
But he wasn't there.
Steve Covino
You're sliding Iowa, Sam. And it's a matter if you're posting it too. In today's world, I think that's what matters. You know, this would be a team photo for them in real life. It's like, why are you posting it? Because it feels like, well, where's Sam then?
Isaac
That.
Steve Covino
That doesn't seem right. Seems disrespectful.
Rich Davis
Big Mike's in the photo. Danny, Spot ever. Where's I With Sam? Photoshop them in.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Danny G
I mean, the back.
Steve Covino
The technology's there. It's much better than it used to be. Spot, our video guy does this often. And you wouldn't even be able to tell. He did it recently with a family get together.
Rich Davis
Oh.
Steve Covino
He couldn't make it to his family's Thanksgiving or Christmas. I think it was Thanksgiving. So he photoshopped him and his wife
Rich Davis
in it and he posted it.
Steve Covino
And I was like, damn, Spot, I didn't know you went to Jersey and back.
Rich Davis
I didn't.
Steve Covino
I didn't. I was like, wow, that's incredible. Because this next level.
Rich Davis
That's weak.
Steve Covino
Fugazi did fake. You could do that from your phone in three seconds now. But I do agree with Mike. There is something really different about photoshopping. Somebody in because it is a little misleading, but sometimes maybe appropriate. And Photoshopping somebody out.
Rich Davis
Well, you got these tools on your iPhone now. Like, yeah, if I take a picture of my son mid swing playing baseball, and I'm like, what a cool action shot of little Benny. And in the background, there's like, a coach picking his nose. You could even on your iPhone do that little tool where you like, well, guess what?
Steve Covino
Android's had that for a long time. Google's been pushing that for a while. I know Rich is so anti Android, I just wanted to throw that out there. He frowns on you guys with the green texts. But I'll give you an example of when Photoshopping someone out is okay. Photoshopping someone out. My daughter, I had her sweet 16 recently, and I was trying to find photos to add to the slideshow, which was a nightmare, by the way. It was a nightmare project for this guy. I'm not good at that stuff. And there was pictures I wanted to include because they were from memorable events. But her little ex boyfriend was in there. You know what I mean? So cut, delete, crop out. So I think there's a reason for those things.
Rich Davis
Isn't that why you make the new person always stand on the outside?
Steve Covino
Yeah, exactly.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
There's rules to this. If they're not really in the family, they're on the outside of the photo. So they're easy to cut off. And since we're talking about it, I do want to give props where they're due. My dad, Big Steve, claims that he's the official original inventor of what is now known as Photoshop. Because back in the day, when my aunts would have boyfriends or get divorced and so on and so forth, he would just put celebrity heads and cut them out and paste them or tape them on top of the heads if the photos were hanging up.
Rich Davis
So Tony Danza was at your Thanksgiving?
Todd Monken
Yeah.
Steve Covino
I'm like, why is Aunt Nancy with Michael Landon?
Rich Davis
Ted dancing was at your Christmas dinner.
Steve Covino
And it's simply because that's who was on TV Guide or whatever or who was on People magazine. So my dad, like, yeah, I'm cutting now. He cut out John Lithgow and put him up in the family photo.
Rich Davis
Wait, tattoo from Fantasy Island? Is it Easter? Wait, no, that was you?
Steve Covino
No, that was lighting.
Danny G
Weird.
Rich Davis
Lighting is all off.
Steve Covino
So my dad used to do that. If you would go to my grandma's house, there'd be all these group photos with different heads on people, like, we didn't want to see anymore.
Rich Davis
So that was Dan Summers. Yeah. Instead of your divorce dance before Photoshop,
Steve Covino
my dad really used to do that all the time and it was really funny. But the question is, how do you feel about this Todd Monken situation? And by the way, you know what this does? It sets a bad precedence for an already quote unquote cursed franchise. Right. It's like you couldn't even get this right and you're expecting to have a winning season. It just adds insult to injury. Well, it's like, can they do anything right as an organization?
Rich Davis
Oddly enough, a reporter asked Monkin, is this like so Cleveland Browns or what?
Todd Monken
Winning changes everything, right? I told the coaches that the other day. Right. Or playing well, how does a player stop a narrative play? Well, how do we stop a narrative on offense score? How do you step a narrative of a winning win? It's pretty frickin simple, right? I mean, is that not in life in general, right? There is a narrative out there that, you know, you're not a good husband. Will change. Be a good husband. Right. All that's part of it, right? Change the narrative, become that. That's. That's what we have to do. It's real simple.
Steve Covino
I really, really think, though, motivational Monkin. I really, really think they should have rescheduled. I think it was a disrespect to him. There was a miscommunication for whatever the reason was. Yeah, he's the head coach. Okay, ready? Well, they did reschedule.
Spot
That's why he had the wrong time.
Steve Covino
It's Cavino and Rich picture day. Right? Kavino Rich picture day. But Covino just messed up his scheduling and I'm not there. I'm not there, but you do it without me. That's like so wrong.
Rich Davis
That means the better analogy would be
Steve Covino
I'm not saying I'm in the right. I'm saying then he probably should reschedule. He's the head coach of the coaching photo.
Rich Davis
The better analogy, how's that not a good analogy? Because if it was Covino on Rich picture day and Covino wasn't available, that's a little different. That would be like if they said we're doing a big PC photo, coach of the coaches full time, talking about the head coach of the coaches, the Cleveland coaches, he's one coach.
Spot
It would be, it would be like if we're going to have a group photo of all full time FSR hosts and one of you couldn't be there.
Rich Davis
Hey, but yeah, that's a little more fair.
Danny G
Yearbook day, where they say not pictured Sally Smith and John Smith.
Rich Davis
Yeah, not John.
Danny G
Pictured. Not pictured.
Steve Covino
I mean, it's lame.
Rich Davis
They did. If they did a bad precedent. If they did a Fox Sports Radio photo shoot of everyone. And that was the day that was like, yo, Danny D. Danny G is taking code of the Dodgers game because they rescheduled. What? Like you. Sorry, What. What do you. What do you. You're accommodating everyone.
Steve Covino
By the way, speaking of, we're the premier sports lineup in the nation. Fox Sports Radio.
Rich Davis
You read that on the wall, huh?
Steve Covino
And you know, out with the old, in with the new. It's so funny how they just Photoshop Stugot's head right in the lineup.
Danny G
I was just gonna bring that up. It's not everybody standing there for a picture.
Steve Covino
It's all Photoshopped so it's doable.
Spot
Stu got head is on your shoulder.
Rich Davis
Kobe, hold on, Spot.
Danny G
Stu guts does not get enough shoulder in that picture.
Rich Davis
If you're watching on the deprived of shoulder. If you're watching on the YouTube channel, I hate to put spot on the spot, but our video guy probably has access. There's that beautiful lineup. It's like, this is the premier sports lineup, and it's all of our headshots. And when Gottlieb left, the door hadn't even closed yet, and there was a Stu Gotts Photoshop over his head where Doug once was shoulder up.
Danny G
But they don't give Stugots very much shoulder. Everybody's kind of facing with the shoulder.
Rich Davis
He only has the shoulder space that Doug Gottlieb had in the photo, by the way.
Steve Covino
It's so funny. It's so funny when you really think about, like, his sweet haircut. And he was all getting ready for it and everything. Every year we make fun of all the coaches and what they're wearing and how they look. Anyway, we had a whole segment on it last year, so maybe he's better off. He gets to choose, like, a photo he's proud of and just maybe they include him in it.
Rich Davis
What do we do every year? We joke about what they wearing. Yeah. We're like, oh, Andy Reid looks like a gym teacher. This guy looks like this. And we mock it every year.
Steve Covino
You know, it's disrespectful. I feel bad for the guy.
Rich Davis
Another lesson learned, Kavito. And I feel like you could get behind this.
Steve Covino
If you.
Rich Davis
If you say something like, sweet haircut. It better be a sweet haircut. It would be like, if I came in, I'm like, guys, I got some sweet new wardrobe. And I came in and Friday with sweatpants and a T shirt like you. You have to match what you said. But you will see on our YouTube channel that group shot. There it is. Thank you, Spotty. There's Doug Gott leaving the top right. And snap your fingers. Stu got right over.
Steve Covino
Right over him, so.
Rich Davis
As if Doug never existed.
Steve Covino
I hope they do the right thing and include him on it. I kind of feel bad for the dude. I really do. But again, it's so Browns of the Browns to get this wrong. And I think it's just every time something goes wrong this year, it's going to go back to, like, the dude didn't even. Didn't even know when the team photo was. Even though that's not the story, it'll come back to something stupid like that.
Spot
Yeah, they moved the. The photo up, which. Which caused the confusion. And I'm reading here that LA Rams coach Sean McVeigh also had to miss the shot.
Steve Covino
Well, he was probably getting a sweet flat top.
Rich Davis
He was probably doing some.
Steve Covino
Whatever.
Rich Davis
He's. He was doing some dips at the gym.
Steve Covino
No, he's got that. That. That early 2000s haircut where it's just sort of down and then just lifted up the front.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Hey, push it forward and up in the front.
Steve Covino
Yeah, that's.
Rich Davis
That's.
Steve Covino
I mean, we all rocked it. We still kind of do.
Danny G
Requires a lot of hair gel.
Steve Covino
And this sort of leads to something else. By the way, we'll take your phone calls and feedback, too, on the difference between Photoshopping someone out and Photoshopping someone in. And by the way, is anyone losing sleep if they do Photoshop them in? Absolutely.
Rich Davis
But this is the perfect example. Kavino and I agree with. I was Sam in the beginning. And there's the new one with Stu Gotts. Look as if it never existed. I would say. I'll back you up on this. If it's a big event or party, I do think it's sort of funny. I get why you would Photoshop your sister into your grandma's 80th party. Okay, there, look.
Steve Covino
There it is.
Rich Davis
Look. New, old, New, old.
Steve Covino
Yeah, but there's another one.
Danny G
It's for Grandma.
Rich Davis
Really?
Steve Covino
There's another one where we're straight across Rich and Stu Gotz's head is, like, right in between us.
Spot
Yeah, it's a banner.
Steve Covino
Yes. And it looks so funny, but I
Rich Davis
get it because it's like I was saying, you're thinking, wow, the whole family was here. I just saw one of my high school friends, Christina, one Of my best pals growing up. Her family, they had Easter dinner and they're like, it was the first time we had everyone together, like, except cousin Stephanie. And I thought I was like, if she's the only one, Photoshop her in.
Steve Covino
It is misleading for future generations, though. That person wasn't even there.
Danny G
My sister made the dinner. She made the lunch, the birthday lunch. She was just missed the very beginning of it apart. So it's like, it's good that she's being represented by the Photoshop and this
Rich Davis
doesn't represent, like, they were all raging and partying together. If it really is just a. Here's the 32 head coaches of the NFL. This is the perfect time. We talk about when AI and when Photoshop is good and when it's evil. This is the perfect time to use it. I can't think, actually, to be honest, of a better time.
Steve Covino
Hey, by the way, do you think that, you know, so many leave an
Rich Davis
empty chair and just throw Monket in there?
Steve Covino
So many thoughts revolving this story. I think we got, moving forward, a great excuse to miss some things. Like, oh, man, I was getting a sweet haircut. I. I guess I missed it.
Rich Davis
You're supposed to be hosting that event for Fox Sports.
Steve Covino
Oh, man, I mixed the dates up. I was getting a sweet haircut.
Danny G
Can I ask question?
Steve Covino
Yeah, and sorry, that pizza party you wanted to have. Ah, man, sorry. Sweet haircut. So I'm busy. I'm busy that night.
Danny G
Did he get. I'm sorry again if I wasn't listening and you guys already addressed this, but did he get the haircut for the picture and he ended up missing the picture?
Rich Davis
Yeah, that's probably it. Yeah.
Steve Covino
So he didn't know.
Rich Davis
And he.
Steve Covino
And he makes clear I didn't miss it. They rescheduled.
Danny G
He thought. He's like, I'm in the clear to get my hair cut. They're gonna schedule haircut for the pig.
Steve Covino
And he ends up missing it, man.
Rich Davis
I mean, to make it clear I'm making this up, but let's just say he had the. Let's say the. He had a noon haircut, thinking the picture was in the afternoon. They're like, the picture's now in the morning. So he's like, you cannot move it up.
Danny G
You can always push it back a little bit. You can't move it up on people. Come on now.
Steve Covino
So speaking of, this is what we're gonna talk about next, and we want your feedback on Photoshops and is it misleading and AI and should this be okay? I think for something like this, it's fine.
Rich Davis
You know what, can I tie it into the dating world?
Steve Covino
Sure.
Rich Davis
I read an interesting article and there's some, you know, Instagram clips and went along with it.
Steve Covino
Where they got to make, we, we got to make the etiquette clear. You know, there's a time and place for stuff like this.
Rich Davis
They were saying if you're on Bumble Tinder, Hinge, all these different dating swiping websites, apps, it like, to what level could you use filters in Photoshop? Because there, there was a very popular video a few weeks back that I remember showing you where some girls like, would you believe this guy met me for drinks? And he's like. And like within a drink he's like, yeah, I'm gonna go. The. This is not as advertised. And she was all like offended. And then she showed her profile picture and her in real life and it really was very different.
Steve Covino
Yeah, it's misleading. False advertising.
Rich Davis
False. I would say false advertising for sure.
Steve Covino
That's not good etiquette.
Danny G
If you guys are on a, like Im saying any you guys like anyone, you're on a dating website, do you think your picture should only be at the most maybe 2 years old? Like it can't be that old.
Rich Davis
I think if that's unfair that the age of the photo is as, is more irrelevant than like how different do you look? Like if you put on or lost a bunch of weight.
Steve Covino
If you're, you know, where the hair
Rich Davis
color, your hairline, all these things are different.
Steve Covino
This happens with like hot real estate women. You're like, oh yeah, Mary Johnson. All right. And then you see Mary Johnson, like, oh, that picture was from like 30 years ago.
Rich Davis
You liar.
Danny G
I don't want to buy this house now.
Rich Davis
I'm no longer buying this house.
Danny G
Not interested.
Steve Covino
And it also happens with headshots. Like in our business, like someone uses the same headshot for 20 years, they don't even look like that. I remember they're almost approaching that time Rich, where we need new headshots.
Rich Davis
Are you kidding? Of course we do.
Steve Covino
I mean, I don't think, I don't think we look that different. It's been a while.
Rich Davis
It's. It's been a minute. I will say.
Steve Covino
Or we could be in denial. I don't know.
Rich Davis
There was an old school radio DJ I worked with. I won't call him out. I don't want to humiliate him.
Steve Covino
Call him out. Nah, call him out.
Rich Davis
But I worked at a radio station in New York, Z100 and I was on the air there in the 2000s, right?
Steve Covino
I'm going to tell Elvis Duran you were talking about.
Rich Davis
I was not Elvis. That's my boy. And I remember there would be a program when they would do concerts and there would be a page with all the DJs and the host pictures. And there was a guy that was like the late night guy. And I'm not age, I'm not ageist. I'm not being an a hole. But he was an older fella. He would use his headshot from like the mid-80s. And.
Steve Covino
And I remember being like, you must be Handsome Dan.
Rich Davis
It really was hilarious to me. Like, at the time, I was like, you know, we're in the mid 2000s now. His headshot looked like he was from Miami Vice.
Steve Covino
There's an etiquette to stuff now.
Rich Davis
That's not what you look like.
Steve Covino

Before we had AT&T business wireless coverage, our delivery GPS wasn't the most reliable. Once our driver had to do a 14 point turn to get back on route. A 14 point turn. An influencer even livestream the whole thing. Not good for business. Now with AT&T business Wireless, routes are updating on the fly and deliveries are on time. And the influencer did get us 53 new followers though. AT&T business Wireless connecting changes everything. I don't know. I'm sympathizing a little too hard with Todd Monken, I guess because I, I hate being left out of photos. And I'll tell you why. When I first became a dad, Rich and I, our show was originally based out of New York City. And when I became a dad, I had to be in LA a lot because that's where baby mama lived at the time. And I missed out on so many photo ops and photo opportunities. I was still doing the interviews but from la and I felt so unincluded all the time when I would see Rich palling around with celebrities and you know, I was doing it from an on site or off site location, I should say. And I just feel really bad for a guy that worked his way up to this point. A really proud moment for the dude. And he even says Todd Monkin. It's beyond disappointing. I was getting a sweet haircut, happy to be part of the head coaching photo and I missed it. Well, he didn't miss it. They rescheduled it.
Spot
The timing turned out to be Covino that he was getting the haircut right when they were doing the actual photo shoot.
Rich Davis
Perfect. Yo, spot. You're the best spot. Our video guy was reading my mind. One of the biggest fights Covino and I have ever gotten in over the decades of working together is the David Hasselhoff fight. Have you guys ever heard about the David Hasselhoff fight?
Steve Covino
Well, hold your horses. Is Cavino enriched? Live from the Fox Sports Radio studio.
Rich Davis
This is a good one.

Rich Davis
I know you got it. So real quick to wrap up the silly photo conversation. This is the dumbest yet. One of the bigger fights we got in.
Steve Covino
Well, remember, the show's based in New York, but I'm in la. We're still doing the show and I'm still doing the interviews. So I had one request, one request for Rich and Spot. Hey, man, when we have guests, I know it sounds stupid if I'm not there, because I tried to be there as much as I could. If I'm not there, use the convenience. Use the cardboard cutout of me. I know it's stupid.
Rich Davis
He made a cardboard cut out of.
Steve Covino
Funny and memorable. No, it was actually. The truth is, it was an Elvis Presley cutout. We just put my head on it. But it was funny.
Spot
But that way you could be part
Steve Covino
of it and feel included. Because I already felt. What's the opposite of included? Like, unincl.
Danny G
Excluded.
Steve Covino
Excluded. I felt excluded. And even though it's the show I'm on, right? So I was like, just do me that solid, man. I'm out here trying to be a dad. I'm in a tough situation. And one day Hasselhoff was there. We had a really cool interview, and they excluded me. And Rich lied to me and said, dude, I didn't have time to get the cardboard.
Spot
Wait, was Dane Cook there the same day? Because there's a picture spot put up of.
Rich Davis
No, that's Rich. But Danny, let me.
Todd Monken
Let me.
Rich Davis
Let me give you the.
Steve Covino
I'm sorry, that's young Rich.
Rich Davis
Let me give you the scenario. The scenario was simple. You know, when a celebrity gets done doing an interview. Danny, you've seen it at radio row on our show where the publicist is like, all right, we gotta run. Yeah, you know, a lot of times they're on to the next show. Hasselhoff and his people, like, great interview. We'll see you guys soon. And I was like, could we do a quick picture? And I didn't have the time in that moment to grab Carino's cardboard cutout.
Steve Covino
And again, he sticks with the lie because if you look closely, the cardboard cutout is right behind him. He's like, I didn't have time.
Rich Davis
Right time. It's in the picture right behind me. You thought I didn't want.
Steve Covino
You excluded me?
Rich Davis
You thought I wanted to Grab that stupid cardboard cutout.
Steve Covino
Exactly. See, so the truth is what really bothered me and I felt disrespected. I felt excluded and I'm like, like, yeah, that sucks, man. Cuz. So there I am photoshopped. So that. So spot Photoshopped.
Spot
What happened to the cardboard cutout, by the way? Did you guys get to take it with you when you left?
Steve Covino
It's somewhere. It is, it's somewhere. So you know, they photoshopped me in just to stop me from crying about.
Rich Davis
I put in my passenger seat for carpool wins.
Steve Covino
But it's. It's. It's a crappy dude. It's. It's a crappy feeling cuz you want to be there, but you couldn't. And. And can you imagine how he must have felt? So. So, you know, I'm over sympathizing maybe, but Todd Monkin's not in the head coach photo without a sweet haircut, but hopefully they photoshop him in. I guess he doesn't know. We don't know what they're going to do with that yet. We'll keep you posted. But it goes with that tortured fan base of the Browns. And speaking of tortured fan bases, the Rockies. Dude, the Rockies.
Rich Davis
We thought last night was going to be the night. If they had one last night. If the Rockies had got it done and it went to extras, right? It went to extras against the Padres.
Spot
Tonight is your night, bro.
Rich Davis
If the Rockies had won last night, they would have been above.500 for the first time since 2022. And I was rooting for that, for the story, for the crazy fans in Denver that are really just trying to root for something. And also because, Danny, you're a Dodgers fan, so you wanted the Padres to lose anyway.
Spot
Exactly.
Steve Covino
Personally, the only thing I like about the Rockies is their logo. The C and the R. I like that. Cavino and Rich.
Rich Davis
It's true.
Steve Covino
It looks nice.
Rich Davis
It was my son's first. First baseball team in his. In his pony ball. And I remember telling him, I think your team could beat them.
Steve Covino
I'm in the BAS Survivor league with Dan Beyer and I picked the Padres this week. So I was actually rooting for the Padres and I was like, oh, damn, man, the Rockies are really hot right now because it was tied and it went to the 12th inning.
Rich Davis
And the crazy part is, as you would say, Danny, off here we're saying the circumstances to this is even worse because they walked intentionally two batters to get to Bogarts thinking it was a better matchup and they could try to get out of this inning. And actually, because he hits a lot of grounders, try to set up that dp, that little double play action. But instead, here's the final call last night, Padres coming out on top against the Rockies.
Steve Covino
Beozo, if I may, is the crafty righty.
Isaac
Yes.
Steve Covino
Everything's below the speed limit. He does get some rollover ground balls. Trying to get one here. Not gonna happen. Not gonna happen. In fact, it's gonna be a walk off grand slam. Not the excitement.
Rich Davis
Not gonna happen.
Steve Covino
Not gonna happen. No ground balls. Just the grand slam and the.
Spot
Obviously, obviously. The Rockies radio network.
Steve Covino
Yeah. No, it's so. Clear as day.
Rich Davis
Not gonna do it.
Steve Covino
Clear as day. The Rockies radio network can't do it. And that's what's in. So the Padres win And they go above.500. They go above.500.500. But the Rockies are now at 5 and 6. 6 and 6 and 6 and 7.
Rich Davis
6 and 7. So here's the question as we go to ILO for an update. Think about this. NFL, NHL, Major League Baseball, NBA. What fan base do you think has the right to call themselves the most tortured fan? Is it the Cleveland Browns? Is it the Colorado Rockies? Like, I can think of other teams, but I want you to make the argument. Let us know who you think could claim they are the most tortured fan while you think about it. We'll think about it. We'll go to Isaac for an update. What's up, ilo?
Isaac
Well, we got round two of the Masters in full swing as we speak. Rory McIlroy has a two shot lead at eight under par overall today. He's three under through 13 in the NFL. The Green Bay packers trading receiver Don Tavion wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles for two draft picks. Baseball Cubs starter Shoda Imanoga at a no hitter going through six innings against the Pirates today with nine strikeouts. He was then taken out after 100 pitches despite striking out two in the top of the sixth inning. Reliever Caleb Thielbar came in to start the seventh inning with the game scoreless and promptly allowed a single to Ryan O'Hearn and then a home run to Brian Reynolds and the Pirates won the game two to nothing. Does your afternoon need a boost? Try the new Starbucks Energy Refreshers. The Starbucks Refreshers you love now with an added boost of caffeine to power your afternoon, get your favorite flavor or try the new Mango Strawberry Energy Refresher or Mango Dream Energy Drink. Get the new Energy Refreshers at Starbucks today or order one right now on the app. Finally, Covino and Rich Front Office Sports reported just a short time ago that the Athletic is probing NFL reporter Diana Rossini's explanation about photos of her and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel that were published earlier this week by the New York Post. Rossini said in a statement issued at the time by the Athletic, quote, the photos don't represent the group of six people who are hanging out during the day. Now Front Office Sports reports that the Athletic is, quote, pressing Rossini for proof that they were there with other people, unquote. And that all reported by Front Office Sports just a short time ago. Back to you guys.
Rich Davis
You know, I like Dana Rossini, so I don't want to be biased. She's always been cool with us. We like her. That was something Covino said early on. He goes, yeah, we like Diana. We want her and Vrabel story to check out because they both seem like good people.
Isaac
Right?
Rich Davis
But you said, why are these other people not. Yeah, yeah.
Steve Covino
If you want to put the fire out, why haven't we seen the other photos?
Rich Davis
Yeah, like, if me and Isaac were on a romantic getaway.
Isaac
What do you mean, if?
Rich Davis
And I said. I said, hey, guys, it wasn't me and Isaac having a candlelight dinner. Danny G. Kavina, the whole team was there.
Steve Covino
And by the way, they might have those photos. We don't.
Rich Davis
I don't know.
Steve Covino
What do I know?
Rich Davis
I'm, you know, I'm. I'm still rooting for that to be okay. They both have families, and. And if it is bs, then I feel bad they had to go through this, but.
Isaac
Ooh.
Steve Covino
Oof.
Rich Davis
Oof is right, huh?
Steve Covino
What a sticky story that we could all learn from, right?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Be careful, everybody.
Rich Davis
Isaac, we're not going to the melting pot tonight, you and I. I'll cancel the reservation day.
Steve Covino
Don't mind if I fondue.
Rich Davis
By the way, today is National Fondue Day, so enjoy dipping.
Steve Covino
Nice, nice, nice. All right, so again, tortured fan bases. There is a formula, right? Your buddy created a formula of the most tortured fan base. I don't think it still exists.
Rich Davis
He claims to be the most tortured fan because the teams he likes are all God awful. But let's get the phones going. Let's be interactive. It's a Friday. We'll have some fun, horse around a little. I don't even know what that means, but, hey, let's get it going. Kavino Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

Yeah, some Godsmack. I like it. Iowa Sam the Godsmack cover of Rocky Mountain Way. Was that Joe Walsh? Right. Because we're talking about the Rockies. Get it? Yo.
Rich Davis
Absolutely.
Steve Covino
Get it. Absolutely. I get it. Good. Was Sam. Absolutely. Covino and Rich talking about tortured franchises.
Rich Davis
Those are Stallone's favorite mountains, right?
Steve Covino
Yeah. Like the Rocky Mountains. Absolutely. Kavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Does your afternoon need a boost? Try the new Starbucks Energy Refreshers. By the way, they're really, really.

And it's time for our Tyrek play of the day. Right when we were getting excited like we said about the rockies maybe getting over. 500. This happens.
Steve Covino
The one.
Rich Davis
Oh, pitch. Bogard swings, hits it in the air to left field. That'll get it done. All the way over the wall. A grand slam to win it. He didn't need it all, but he got it all. And Xander Bogarts over the fence. His second home run of the season. A walk off grand slam and the Padres do it the fun way. In the bottom of the 12th inning, seven three, the final score.
Steve Covino
Wow, what a contrast from the other call we heard earlier. Courtesy of Padres Radio Network. That's our tire Rack play of the day. Rich Davis
Now, as far as tortured fan bases, let's go straight to your feedback. Danny G. Who is on the. Who's on the horn, as they say.
Spot
Let's start in St. Paul, Minnesota. I'm sure you know where Mike is headed.
Rich Davis
Yo, Mikey, what up?
Steve Covino
What up, Mike?
Isaac
Oh, God. I mean, 10 NFC title game appearances, winning four of them, losing all four of the Super Bowls the Vikings have been in.
Rich Davis
You know, I wonder this sometimes. Is it worse to get there and constantly just fall short, or is it worse to not even get close? Like, like the Browns? Like, what's worse?
Danny G
I think it's worse to get so close and then not get it.
Rich Davis
I'll be honest, I can never say anything about my 49ers because they brought me joy as a child. But the 49ers, you know how many NFC championship games and Super Bowls they've lost in the last, let's say, 15 years? It's been the story of like, ooh, oh, oh, almost like. But so imagine if that was forever, right? I mean, that's, that's.
Steve Covino
The Lightning story is tough. Yeah. Even with baseball, you're still probably living in the world of Kirby Puckett and Gladden highlights.
Rich Davis
Yeah, but you had 87 and 91 to live for.
Steve Covino
I know, but that's been a long time. I know.
Rich Davis
Who else we got?
Spot
Danny, you know, who should ask the question to about, you know, getting close but never getting over the hump. Tom in Kentucky's a Bills fan.
Steve Covino
Hey, what's up, Tom? Hey, guys. Love the show. Hey. Yeah. So I grew up in Buffalo, 50 years old. So in my lifetime, I have watched
Isaac
the Bills lose four Super Bowls, get
Steve Covino
Josh Allen, get good.
Isaac
Thirteen seconds. Even this last year, was it a catch?
Steve Covino
Was it not a catch?
Isaac
Every time something happens, they either change
Steve Covino
a rule, give it a name, but it's just going to. Yeah, you know, it's gotta be the worst.
Rich Davis
And for you, bro, the bummer is that you do realize that when everyone's team is out, their default is like, yeah, the Bills, like, when. When my team's out. I'm like, yeah, it'd be nice. A guy like Josh Allen. The Bills deserve it, so the fans deserve it. You even have, like, outsiders pulling for you. That means nothing. So we'll take the rest of your feedback. The most tortured fan base. We'll get to that. Plus we'll play brainwave, give away some prizes. Coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Steve Covino
This is an iHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human.
In this lively installment of Covino & Rich, the hosts dive deep into the concept of "tortured fanbases" in sports. Using recent examples—including the ongoing struggles of the Cleveland Browns and the Colorado Rockies—they spark an interactive discussion on which teams and cities have truly suffered the most heartbreak. The show blends humor, banter, and debate, with a healthy dose of pop culture and personal anecdotes, while fielding calls from listeners who share their own agonizing fandom stories.
"You'd think with AI, they could have done that quickly and got me in there, but no, it's the way it is. It'll be under the bridge. And what will matter most is whether we... do we win or not. That ultimately none of that will matter." – Todd Monken (05:53)
“It sets a bad precedence for an already quote, unquote cursed franchise. Right? It's like you couldn't even get this right and you're expecting to have a winning season. It just adds insult to injury.” – Steve Covino (15:11)
“I felt excluded. Even though it's the show I'm on, right? So I was like, just do me that solid, man. I'm out here trying to be a dad. I'm in a tough situation...” – Steve Covino (33:28)
“[If the Rockies had won,] they would have been above .500 for the first time since 2022... they intentionally walked two batters to get to Bogarts... Not gonna happen. Not gonna happen. In fact, it's gonna be a walk-off grand slam.” – Steve Covino (36:18; 36:49)
“There's rules to this. If they're not really in the family, they're on the outside of the photo. So they're easy to cut off.” – Steve Covino (14:05)
“Can they do anything right, as an organization?” – Steve Covino (15:11)
“Is it worse to get there and constantly just fall short, or is it worse to not even get close, like the Browns? What's worse?” – Rich Davis (44:57)
“You know, when a celebrity gets done doing an interview... their publicist is like, ‘All right, we gotta run.’ I didn't have time in that moment to grab Covino's cardboard cutout.” – Rich Davis (34:21)
This episode of Covino & Rich masterfully weaves recent sports news with humor and broader cultural commentary, using the Browns’ and Rockies’ woes as springboards for a deeper discussion on fan suffering and the authenticity of group memories. Whether joking about “sweet haircuts,” arguing Photoshop etiquette, or commiserating with lifelong fans of cursed franchises, the hosts deliver a fun, interactive, and ultimately relatable episode for anyone who’s ever felt the sting of sports heartbreak—or been the odd one left out of a group photo.
