Rich Davis
Rich people being on people on the intro chat. You're like romper room giving shout outs.
Steve Covino
Exactly, exactly. So again, we got midweek major. This hour, the biggest stories in sports and pop culture. Are they midweek or major? And we're going to be talking Tom Brady.
Rich Davis
Oh, we'll talk Tom Brady in a second. But when this guy's in the studio, I feel almost disrespectful. Making him wait.
Steve Covino
You don't make him wait. Hi, Big Mike.
Rich Davis
How are you?
Steve Covino
I'm all right.
Isaac Loewincron
I'm a little.
Mike (Big Mike)
I'm a little discombobulated as it feels like your. Your Tumblr is haunted.
Rich Davis
Yeah, I keep trying. I put everyone that's on the YouTube chat. Watch this. I pop down the Tumblr top like it's like now.
Mike (Big Mike)
I didn't see him push it down the first time.
Rich Davis
I just saw the lid pop off all by itself.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
That's some poultry, dude. That's some poultry guy stuff.
Steve Covino
Seriously, dude, I didn't know you were doing magic tricks. I know Carrot Top.
Rich Davis
Now this guy.
Mike (Big Mike)
Very impressive.
Steve Covino
Rick Davis got props. And man, that's Pretty amazing. So, by the way, this is a
Rich Davis
sweet Covino and Rich tumbler you could buy.
Steve Covino
Look at that shop.covinoenrich.com When Rich puts the lid to his tumbler down, it sits there for a few seconds and pops.
Rich Davis
Pops up.
Isaac Loewincron
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Good for coffee spills. Buy this one. Big Mike, who runs this place. Before we get into your words of wisdom, I did give you credit moments ago when we talked about my dude, Juan Soto, talking about all the joy he's playing with for the Dominican Republic. And then as a Met, he's sort
Steve Covino
of like
Rich Davis
when you show your hand, when you. When you show people what you're capable of.
Steve Covino
I think that's why we get disheartened with music bands, too, sometimes. Like, I know they can make hits. They make great songs.
Rich Davis
I've heard their other albums. I don't know. And you, you were saying men make this mistake all the time.
Mike (Big Mike)
They do. They set themselves a precedent of, this is how I'm going to be on a daily basis. But what you're really doing is setting up expectations for failure in the future.
Steve Covino
Right.
Mike (Big Mike)
You can't live up to that every single day.
Rich Davis
You're not giving foot rubs every day. No.
Steve Covino
You're buying flowers every weekend.
Jay Shetty
Yeah.
Steve Covino
You got to set realistic expectations. You're right. And Juan Soto, he's playing at a real high level right now, bringing all the excitement for the Doctor.
Rich Davis
Honestly, something is, if you don't bring
Steve Covino
that same excitement to the Mets, then you know, you know how he feels.
Rich Davis
Something as simple as the handshakes he'd give Pete, Alonzo and Lindor. Like, almost like a business shake. Like, congratulations on your double.
Steve Covino
Like I said, colleagues versus his boys.
Rich Davis
His boys in the doctor. Bring that excitement to Queen Soto. And with that said, let's bring some excitement with Mike who runs this place. It's time for words of wisdom.
Jay Shetty
It's time for the guy that runs this place.
Iowa Sam
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mike does not run this place. He is not in charge of everything. He has no power over really, anybody here. He does not run this place.
Rich Davis
It's Big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday. The Empire is so quick to shut you down.
Mike (Big Mike)
He really is. And we've known each other for so long.
Rich Davis
I know. What do you got for us today, Mike?
Mike (Big Mike)
Life will split your pants when you least expect it. The wise person laughs, finds a jacket, and keeps walking.
Rich Davis
There you go.
Steve Covino
By the way, not only is that words of wisdom, it's a real life
Iowa Sam
story that happened yesterday inspired by True life.
Steve Covino
Honestly, it's the best. I was like, years from now, that story is going to turn into, like, a whole different story. We're like, yo, and his whole ass was out wearing those stinky drawers and his both cheeks out. It was crazy. Crazy, man. Yesterday, Mike got up and Richard's like, mike, did you just split your panther?
Iowa Sam
He had a barbed wire tattoo.
Steve Covino
His chonies were sticking out. And then he dipped out. And we're like, is he going to bust out his, like, sweatpants in his trunk? Like his old sweatpants. And he came back with a jacket. And he tied it, tied it around his waist, covering his ass, like a. Like he was a hot chick.
Mike (Big Mike)
So hot chick with a fat hot
Steve Covino
chick with a Megan Fox with a fatty.
Iowa Sam
Walked in looking like a ninth grader.
Steve Covino
Yeah. And it did take us back to those days, back in the day when Ernie, you know, had an accident.
Rich Davis
Well, yeah, Ernie.
Steve Covino
Ernie would go down to the nurse's
Rich Davis
office, consider me Miles Davis.
Steve Covino
They dip into the lost and found, and Ernie would come back with a pair of, like, 1970s checkered pants. Whatever they had left over, you know, they have corrected. Ernie got those pants. He had an accident.
Rich Davis
They've corrected this since. Meaning, Danny G. You'll see it soon, if not already. I know you have your little son Koa. They have every kid at the beginning of the year bring up, bring in backup clothes in, like, in a big ziploc bag.
Steve Covino
Back in the day, you were humiliated. Oh, no jokes. You would bust out, like, pants from the 70s that they had lying around and lost.
Rich Davis
In fact, why did Mikey come back? Why didn't Mikey come back to class with bell bottoms on?
Steve Covino
You'd have those. Those Rodney Dangerfield regular guy pants. You'd be wearing those checkered old school golf pants back into the classroom. Cause you had an accident. So yesterday, when Mike split his pants, we're like, is he gonna come back with, like, checkered back golf pants?
Mike (Big Mike)
I wish I had some.
Steve Covino
And he came back with a. With a sweat jacket tied around his waist.
Rich Davis
It was hilarious. I have a question for you.
Steve Covino
It was so funny.
Mike (Big Mike)
I look good, though.
Steve Covino
But my wife.
Mike (Big Mike)
I was rocking it.
Steve Covino
Your wife must have roasted you, though, coming back with your ass sticking out.
Mike (Big Mike)
I don't know what you're talking about, man.
Rich Davis
You know, quite the opposite. Mike, can you read it one more time? We'll get a winner. The number is 877.
Steve Covino
Read it.
Rich Davis
99 on Fox.
Mike (Big Mike)
Remember, if you can repeat this back word for word, verbatim, there's a prize in Store for you.
Steve Covino
Prize pack.
Rich Davis
Okay, let's go. Let's hear it one more time.
Mike (Big Mike)
Life will split your pants when you least expect it. The wise person laughs, finds a jacket, and keeps walking.
Steve Covino
I love how Mike tried to deny it too, when it happened.
Mike (Big Mike)
Oh, Rich was like, honestly, I had no idea.
Rich Davis
That's funny.
Mike (Big Mike)
No idea.
Rich Davis
Have you ever had a, quote, wardrobe malfunction? Like, I'm not saying, like, your nipple popped out at the super bowl, but have you ever had like a. Like in a moment where.
Steve Covino
How about any Kravitz? When he was rocking those leather pants and his whole package came out on stage, he was.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
What do you call it? Free balling or. Yeah, he was going commando.
Iowa Sam
Right.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
And he wasn't also.
Rich Davis
Whoa. I. I feel like we've all been somewhere where there was like, a spillage of food. Like you're, like, within. Within minutes of being at a restaurant, you got sauce all over yourself on a big date night. Or. Or again, you split your pants or. I remember one time when I was
Steve Covino
a teenager, remember when the karate kid got all that spaghetti spilled on him when he was at that really fancy place?
Rich Davis
I do remember that.
Mike (Big Mike)
Yeah.
Rich Davis
I remember as a kid, I slipped in the mud once on our way to like, we're all going to, like, the roller skating rink to try to meet girls. And on my way to my friend's parents car, I did like a. Whoa. Like, slipped backwards, fell in a pile of mud. It happened sometimes.
Steve Covino
Yeah, the.
Rich Davis
The pants split mic was classic.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
I'll never forget it.
Steve Covino
You should always have some sort of backup something, though, in your trunk for sure.
Mike (Big Mike)
And I'm going to start doing that now.
Steve Covino
Yeah. At least Mike had a jacket. It was so fun. And they were like, leave. They were like Levi jeans.
Mike (Big Mike)
Yeah, no, they were good quality jeans.
Steve Covino
Put him. His ass was out yesterday. All right. So lucky he had a Lucky. He uses dude wipes. So. 877-99-FOX. 87799 on FOX. If you could repeat Mike's words of wisdom word for word, verbatim, we'll hook you up with a CNR prize pack, some Nerf footballs, mini Nerf balls, and some koozies and cool stuff like that.
Rich Davis
Well, let me. Let me transition C. Okay. To something I'm excited about. We talked about March being here, which means madness, bro. Which means the March madness Start a baseball world baseball classic. And if that wasn't enough, I have been pulled in. It's official. You know, call me a fool, call me a sucker, but I now want to Watch flag football in Saudi Arabia. Tom Brady trash talking with Logan Paul has somehow pulled me in because remember like a week ago that there was like a sit down interview and Tom Brady questioned Logan Paul's athleticism. Like, yeah, you do WWF stuff. Wwe. That's cute.
Steve Covino
Well, we assumed, like there's some, there's some reasoning behind, there's some gimmick in
Rich Davis
this gimmick involved, some, some, you know, playing around with.
Steve Covino
We did debate, like, whether or not Logan Paul was a great athlete compared to guys like Tom Brady.
Rich Davis
Well, I mean, talk about age, talk About Flag Football vs NFL Football is a big difference. But Tom Brady is now leaning in and he's talking smack. That's what Logan Paul is.
Jay Shetty
He's an entertainer.
Mike (Big Mike)
He has shown a lot of skills
Steve Covino
in those combat sports.
Rich Davis
But to actually have the skills, I don't know.
Steve Covino
I just don't know.
Rich Davis
I don't know if he's got it big.
Steve Covino
Boys, you're lucky you won't get hit. So obviously you hear Gronk, right, talking
Rich Davis
about Gronk's being nice, like, oh, he's
Steve Covino
athletic, he's being diplomatic about the whole thing. And then Tom Brady comes into the cut and you hear all those beeps. All those beeps are Tom Brady calling Logan Paul the B word. And I think that smack talk does add to the intrigue to the fun of this flag football, this, I guess, tournament right. In Saudi Arabia.
Mike (Big Mike)
To be fair, it may no longer take place in Saudi Arabia. Talking about bringing back to the States,
Rich Davis
I was gonna say, with everything going on in the world.
Steve Covino
Yeah, I mean, I think anytime you're more invested. That's why we love 247 so much. The more you know the backstory, the better you are. It's really it. Like, you need a little backstory. Like, yeah, of course we know who Logan Paul is. Of course we know Tom Brady. But when you start seeing, like what they're about, when you know them a little more personal, when you hear them talking trash, you, you feel more invested. Anything that gets you to feel more invested is good for the sport, good for the game.
Rich Davis
And I think there's intrigue here because also, who's the guy that's the number one fan of our show? He used to host Pros vs. Joe's. Oh, Petros, our number one fan.
Steve Covino
Oh, he loves our show.
Rich Davis
Petros and money.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
We love Petros.
Rich Davis
We love Petros. Both nice fellas.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
Very funny guys.
Rich Davis
Petros, that was a great show. He used to host. Remember Pros vs. Joe's. Oh, it's great. And you would get an idea of what a regular buffoon would look like if he tried to just play one on one against an NBA retired star or someone trying to run a route against.
Steve Covino
I don't think Logan Paul's that regular buffoon by any means.
Rich Davis
By no means. He fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's doing moonsaults off the top rope in WWE.
Steve Covino
His athleticism levels to athleticism.
Rich Davis
His athleticism is off the charts, which is why I think it is interesting to see a 40 something, a mid 40, closer to 50 Tom Brady verse in his physical prime. Logan Paul. This is not tackle football. This is not college or NFL. This is flag football. And I, I see my daughter and my kids play flag football now, right? There's teenagers that I'm not sure if they know how to rap and tackle or do anything, but when you're playing flag football, it's about athleticism, jumping, leaping, speed. These kids, Calabasas High School, there's different skill level involved.
Steve Covino
There's different skills, a different skill set, avoiding, you know, just someone ripping your
Rich Davis
flag out like Danny. There's a, you know, not just my little kids playing flag football. When I walk on that field, I see the teenage division and there's kids that are making Odell Beckham Jr. Type catches and they're flinging the ball without the pads, without tackling. With all that, I think you're seeing teenagers and young high school kids like showing off a different skill set. It's flag football. It's not NFL football, it's not tackle football.
Steve Covino
So not only that, there's so much momentum with flag football. He's got to be part of you. It's growing. It's exciting.
Mike (Big Mike)
They should put it in the Olympics.
Rich Davis
I mean, maybe they will. Oh, wait, that's.
Steve Covino
I think that's part of it though. Like, we've also accepted, like, yeah, flag football's pretty cool.
Iowa Sam
You know what it's like. Remember we saw the pro Wiffle ball league guys throw to the MLB broadcasters, former MLB players, and they were having trouble with the pitches because it's different. It's obviously similar, but it's different.
Rich Davis
I'm not, Listen, I believe I'm, I'm brainwashed to believe that Tom Brady could do anything. I'm a Tom Brady fan. I really am. I think, I think I like this Tom Brady better than the player Tom Brady. I feel like he's a motivational, like, really good dude. Like a role model to young people. Right?
Steve Covino
Grown to see the human side of
Rich Davis
Tom Brady, you know, flaws and all. I think Tom Brady's a.
Steve Covino
Did you see him on that car ride with his kid? That's gone viral, too. I don't know. Just like you said, he's been more humanized. That happened even before he was out of the league.
Rich Davis
So it's hard for me to think, oh, come on. Do you think Logan Paul is going to compete with Tom Brady? But then again, Tom Brady has the most accurate arm probably in this whole tournament, but he's also almost 50. Logan Paul is fast and quick, and whoever they team him up with, there's also the catch there. Like who? Like who's Logan Paul partnered up with?
Steve Covino
K. Rain says that Paul is 6:2, around £200 and time that 4, 7:40. He's that fast.
Rich Davis
He's a good athlete. We downplay because he's a social media buffoon, but Logan and Jake Paul are both athletes. It's undeniable.
Steve Covino
I think, that he could compete, and I think a lot of decent athletes could probably compete and hold their own, but I don't think that they could compete on an elite level. I think, like, you know, as. As your boy, macho man Randy Savage said, the cream does rise to the top here. I think he can compete, but I don't think he wins.
Rich Davis
Do you remember when Tys Fury, who I very much admire, he's going to be getting back in the ring out of retirement, right? Remember he fought. Was it Ngannou?
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Amanda Knox
Who?
Rich Davis
Francis Ngannou is a lifetime UFC former champion, like a big man. When he boxed against Tyson Fury, I remember the sentiment was. I mean, Tyson Fury is going to whoop his ass. Ngannou is a bad man, but he's a UFC guy. Tyson Fury is a heavyweight champion, one of the best of the last 50 years. Arguably, Ngannou, like, it was a draw. Arguably, Tyson Fury got to win, but you could argue that was a draw. What if Logan Paul shocks us and whoops Tom Brady flag football? Would that be disappointing for everyone? Or would everyone or is that good?
Mike (Big Mike)
Well, I think it's disappointing, but it's. It's unlikely. But it's flag football. It's not actual football.
Rich Davis
So that will be Tom Brady's excuse. Like, well, it's not football.
Mike (Big Mike)
Well, you're asking. You're saying that'll be Tom Brady's excuse? Like, he's going to need one. I don't think he's going to need one.
Steve Covino
I think he's in great shape. Faster. His. I think it's. I think Tom Brady's 40 is better now. Is better now than it was at the combine. Right when he was younger.
Rich Davis
Who could run a faster route and be more athletic. Right now I'm being serious in Fred flag football. Gronk or Logan Paul?
Steve Covino
Me big Mike beside these little Mike besides Mike.
Mike (Big Mike)
All right, I'll take myself out of it.
Rich Davis
Do you think Gronk or Logan Paul could run a better route in flag football?
Mike (Big Mike)
Well, run a better route or run a faster route.
Rich Davis
A faster route.
Isaac Loewincron
Catch.
Rich Davis
So you got to catch the ball too.
Steve Covino
The difference is, you know, Gronk obviously could barrel over a few people and
Rich Davis
take that hit, which is unnecessary.
Steve Covino
Unnecessary in flag football. So I get what Rich is saying. Like it might be.
Mike (Big Mike)
Well, yeah, but Bronco's been right running routes his entire life.
Rich Davis
You could argue a tyree Paul hasn't been running routes. You could argue a tyree kill would be the best flag football player of all time. Because if speed and catching a ball is the number one skill in running routes, there's no tackling, there's no breaking tackles, there's no rat, you know, no yak yards after the catch. It's simply flag football. I'm so intrigued. So if they didn't pump you up, maybe I did a little bit. Because now I'm so intrigued to see will the greatest NFL players and some of these legends will just athletic influencer types compete. Flag football is the wave of the future, man.
Steve Covino
Going to be a thing.
Rich Davis
I want to get a contestant giveaway prize here. See if they could get Mike's words of wisdom. And then we'll get to midweek major with Iowa salmon a little bit.
Steve Covino
877-99-FOX. This is for a Covino and Rich prize pack. We do this every Wednesday. If you could repeat it word for word, you win. Who do we got?
Iowa Sam
Let's go to Matt in Pennsylvania.
Steve Covino
Yo, Matt Cavino. Enrich. What up, buddy?
Jay Shetty
How you doing?
Rich Davis
Hey, buddy.
Steve Covino
Am I. Am I ready to just go or go?
Rich Davis
Let it establish. You ready?
Iowa Sam
Let the music marinate.
Rich Davis
Matt, you're so right.
Isaac Loewincron
I'm sorry.
Rich Davis
Whenever you're ready, buddy.
Jay Shetty
Life will split your pants when you least expect it. The wise person laughs, finds a jacket and keeps walking.
Mike (Big Mike)
There you go.
Rich Davis
All you gotta do, all you gotta do is really just listen and repeat Mike's wish wisdom. And there you go. You win a prize, he gets. You get nerf football.
Steve Covino
It's not as easy as he made it look.
Rich Davis
You get koozies.
Steve Covino
You can trip up one word and you lose.
Rich Davis
Fox Sports Radio. Goodies Matt, appreciate you listening, buddy.
Steve Covino
Thank you, buddy.
Iowa Sam
Yeah, Matt, hang on the line.
Mike (Big Mike)
Good job, Matt.
Steve Covino
Great job. And we do this every Wednesday, plus midweek major, which is coming up. And again, Rich, I hate to give you the old cliche, but styles make fights, right? Styles and matchups are everything. And fighting and in flag football and everything that we. We witness. And you mentioned Ngannou Fury.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Remember what happened to Ngannou when he got in the ring with Anthony Joshua?
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Got his ass beat. Like, big time. Like, bad. He looks silly out class.
Rich Davis
I'll be honest, Kavino. I saw. I saw something once, and I'm not saying this will always happen, but just to show you, if you take someone out of the element in which they dominate just a little bit, it might make a difference. I've seen. I've played in, like, some charity events where I've seen major league baseball players playing, like, a charity softball game, and they're, like, pop up because it's not,
Steve Covino
you know, not their game.
Rich Davis
It's not their game. So you, like. Like, you would think, like, oh, come on, you get. You know, you put mookie bets or someone in a. Well, Mookie bets is a bad example, because I think that guy could do anything, right?
Steve Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
But you take someone out of their specialty, and I'm not quite sure there's dominant as you think.
Steve Covino
Well, that's what makes this interesting. That's what makes it fun. But props, I want to give props.
Rich Davis
Okay.
Steve Covino
Carrot top, Logan Paul, he's in the game of antics and getting people to watch and marketing events. He's good at that. Tom Brady, calling him a B, Leaning into it. You got to give him credit for this.
Rich Davis
And it's like angry, competitive Tom Brady. It's like, yeah, yeah, Logan Paul, you're a B.
Steve Covino
All the credit to Tom Brady. Honestly. Not that he needs any more, but the guy's awesome. He's great. I tip my hat to Tom Brady because you're right, Rich. Now I'm pulled in even more. Thank you, Tom. Well, thank you, Tommy.
Rich Davis
Here's what we got coming up midweek major. Sammy. Sammy.
Jonas Knox
Oh, by the way, I have one last point, Rich.
Steve Covino
Trash talking always works. Yeah, always works.
Rich Davis
It's true.
Steve Covino
You know, if you want people to be interested, talk some trash. It always. The drama level of things, especially in today's world, always builds intrigue. People love drama, dude.
Rich Davis
Hey, I'll give you a Juan Soto Lo Fi for that one. All right, Iowa. Sammy boy is going to be doing midweek major next. I know he's got his stories lined up. He's stressed out. He's dancing on the stretch right now.
Webull or Advertisement Voice

Webull or Advertisement Voice
Guys, let's start with baseball. I believe you touched on this briefly yesterday. Let's start with baseball. Actually, no baseball for you. That's what Major League baseball said to Atlanta Braves designated hitter Juricks in Profar this week after he failed a second performance enhancing drug test in the past year. Profire tested positive for exogenous testosterone and its metabolites. Here is what Profar is missing out on as part of his upcoming punishment, which takes effect Friday. Banned 162 games in the regular season, no postseason play, no participation in the upcoming World Baseball Classic and $15 million of his salary forfeited. Profar. Not so good Midweek or major?
Steve Covino
Oh, this is major. This is. Shame on you, Profar. This is fool me once, can't be fooled again. This dude was suspended last year and sacrificed a lot of money. Misses the entire season. Sacrifice, sacrifices an entire year's worth of salary here. I think it was like total over 20 something million dollars. He doesn't get to represent in the WBC. Like what a fool dude. Like you got caught once and you do it again. My goodness, this guy deserves everything he's getting. It's a shame, but he deserves it.
Rich Davis
Any confusion? Maybe like remember wasn't it Fernando Tatis Jr that when he got, he got
Steve Covino
caught he said, oh, it was a
Rich Davis
hair product or something.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
Tainted meat.
Rich Davis
I feel like there's got to be. Remember when Ryan Garcia got caught and he said no, it was. It's not true.
Steve Covino
It's a bad burrito.
Isaac Loewincron
Something.
Rich Davis
Yeah. Is, is he denying he said he'd
Webull or Advertisement Voice
never willing or like, you know, do that. Knowingly putting something illegal, using something illegal in his body. So he's denying it, but.
Steve Covino
And again, it was a 42 million three year deal through 2027 and he lost half of it last year, I believe, and loses the entire thing this year. It's a damn shame is what it is. Can you imagine like how do you sleep at night leaving that much money on the table? That was my story.
Rich Davis
I think it was my. It was my Flintstone vitamins, I tell you.
Steve Covino
No, seriously, it's bad.
Rich Davis
It's definitely major. Only because he's a guy that could have made an impact. And Atlanta Braves fans got to be bummed because this is a guy that's. I was always a fan of Profar when he was with the Padres. I feel like he was a great role player on that team. And yo, tough luck, Braves. Sorry, Bravos.
Steve Covino
And then you miss a whole year on top of it. Not only are you letting your entire team down, your family, you're letting your whole self down. You're gonna look back at that stat line your baseball card, and look back. His family, his kids, his grandkids. Grandpa Profar, Papito, what happened in 2026? Oh, I'm doing better to share the news, but I got caught cheating again.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
Exogenous. Exogenous testosterone and its metabolites.
Steve Covino
Seriously, dude, like, he just ruined his whole stats.
Jonas Knox
Everything about it.
Rich Davis
I closed my eyes. I thought that was, like, real audio from the future.
Steve Covino
I'm sorry I let you down. Ay, ay, yai, papito.
Lily Herman
I can't believe it.
Steve Covino
Horrible, man. All right, I think it's horrible.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
Let's press on.
Steve Covino
He missed a year and a half his career. I don't know.
Rich Davis
Yes, me, I would love to hear. Being that he can't play for the next 162 games, what about a weekend show here on Fox Sports Radio? Profar and his grandson.
Steve Covino
How does he. How does he. Does he justify that when his little grandkids are looking at the back of the car that his half the year he missed and then the other? Not to mention all that money?
Rich Davis
You ashamed our family, Grandpa.
Steve Covino
That's embarrassing.
Rich Davis
I know.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
All right, let's stick with baseball and talk about Max Clark, the number three overall pick in 2023 who has been working his way up the ranks for the Detroit Tigers. Apparently, this guy's drip really bothers people. Clark rocks several dynamics in chains as part of his drip, but his drip really bothers people when he's got the drops. Clark had a few drops Monday when his Tigers played the Braves in a spring training game. Clark was already getting a bit of guff from the TV broadcasters over his look, but then he dropped two fly balls in the first inning, and people were just sick of his whole get up giving him crap online. Apparently the chains. The chains he wears are making him worse at baseball. That's what the critics would have you believe. After his rough outing, Clark brushed off the criticism. Max Clark, Mr. Bling, leave him alone. Midweek or major.
Steve Covino
I think this is another major story. Definitely major. They don't complement each other. Like that drip really stands out in a negative way when you make pairs. Drops. Yeah. Like you can't be, you know, as they say in this article or on this clip, you gotta hit first, flex later. You know what I mean? Like, this guy hasn't sniffed the big leagues and he's strutting around like that. And I hate to be that old school guy, but that sort, those sort of antics would have never flown back in the day. Like you can't come in here with that kind of swag when you haven't proven anything yet. And not only did he prove, if anything, he proved that he, he's not a good fielder. And it's just, it's a worse look when you're that flashy. It was four diamond chains, by the way.
Rich Davis
Major.
Steve Covino
Definitely major.
Rich Davis
Listen, whatever you want to call it, style, drip, branding, swag, branding, whatever it is. I, I, I feel like I'm fine with it. It's earned and it can't be a distraction. Those are two things. Can't be distracting and earned. I always think the funniest thing, and I think this is very relatable. Have you ever played pickup sports? It could be softball, basketball. The guy that comes out with all the extra gear. You better be good. You can't come to a pool. You can't go to a pool table at a bar, break out your own pool cue and a glove and then stink. You can't be a softball player with an elbow guard and stink. Think like you got a matt.
Steve Covino
This guy came out like he's Deion Sanders or something. He had four. Like, he looks like Mr. T. And look at that. I'm not exaggerating, not joking. Like it's ridiculous. You've gotta maybe gotta deliver.
Rich Davis
Maybe he got a deal on the home shopping Network. I don't know.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
You guys are the bigger baseball experts than or better baseball experts than I am. Is it normal for a top five pick to still be working his way up? I mean like to the, There's a major league team after three years.
Steve Covino
I think a number three pick.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
Yeah. Number for the Tigers a couple years ago. But he's, you know, that's one of
Rich Davis
the reasons I was saying why Kyler Murray chose football because in football and basketball, if you're a prospect, you are in the bigs. You make it to the big show quick. Baseball, sometimes the top pitcher, the number one.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
So I'm wondering, is it normal? Is he on the right trajectory right now?
Rich Davis
I think, I think he is, yeah. You could a lot of times you not squander away, but you, you waste a couple years along the way getting the reps, right?
Steve Covino
I mean, yeah, but you don't need this sort of negative attention, right? Because it's all going to come back to that. If a young player like this, even with all that eye black, he has the Bryce Harper. Remember when Bryce Harper used to wear it like that back in his college days? You know, you can make two, two errors like that and you're like, oh man, get him next time. But when you're super flashy like that, you're just bringing so much more attention to yourself.
Rich Davis
Agreed.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
All right, guys, big trade in the NFL today. The Chiefs have traded descending all Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the LA Rams for four draft picks, including the number 29 overall selection in this upcoming NFL Draft. The former Husky is entering the final season of his rookie contract, is expected to sign a long term deal with the Rams. And you know the Rams unofficial team building motto F them picks. The Rams will make a trade with you and use the draft to do so. After all, they've only made one first round pick since 2017. That was Jared Versch in 2024. But several men, members of the Chiefs seem to be caught off guard by the move, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who simply wrote damn on Twitter. The Chiefs parting ways with a budding young star. Midweek or major?
Steve Covino
Major. Definitely major. Only because what really makes it major is I think how public Mahomes made it. Like damn didn't even just one word. It says a lot in my opinion.
Rich Davis
What was that word again? Damn.
Jay Shetty
Damn, Damn, damn, damn.
Steve Covino
Because it seems like, wow, that's, that's a tough loss. I'm mad about this. Like, you want your guy, Patrick Mahomes. I'm not saying he has to be in the know of everything, but as the leader of your team, you also don't want to feel like you're the last to know and you want to keep your players happy.
Rich Davis
Yeah, I think it's not your leaders. I don't think it's mid. Mid.
Amanda Knox
That's so mid.
Rich Davis
I'll tell you what, because listen, a lot of teams do this.
Steve Covino
They, you know, he's, he's a star
Rich Davis
cornerback, man, they got to look longer term beyond Kelsey and some of these guys and maybe they're thinking, all right, Mahomes is going to be here for a while, hopefully. So if we can get a ton of draft equity for a guy that's good, maybe do it. I mean, the Rams are like, win now. The Chiefs are probably thinking, we've won. Yeah, but we want to win again in a couple years.
Steve Covino
I get that they get multiple picks, including a 2026 first rounder. Right. But those aren't always guaranteed. This guy's a proven bonafide star.
Rich Davis
When you're playing around with the salary cap and you're, and you're looking at the future, I think it's a solid move for both teams.
Steve Covino
Really.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
All right, one more quick one. Yeah, let's do it, guys. It's working out for Doug Golib in Green Bay. You're doing it, Dougie.
Isaac Loewincron
You're doing it.
Rich Davis
I saw this.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
To quote hook Last night, the Green Bay Phoenix defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 6456 in Green Bay to win the program's first Horizon League conference. Excuse me, Got for Clemp there. I got for Clemp for Doug.
Steve Covino
Oh, wow.
Rich Davis
I thought you were his ass.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
So the Phoenix beat of Purdue Fort Wayne 6456 in Green Bay last night to win the program's first Horizon League Conference tournament game in five years. Doug's Phoenix so far have improved from four wins last year to 18 this year and possibly more to come, including a solid 12.8mark in the league, good for a third place finish. The Gottlieb haters were out in full force last year, pitchforks and torches in hand, but many have since gone home. Doug Gottlieb can coach college basketball midweek or major.
Steve Covino
I think that's major. I really do. I think we see a guy bet on himself and he's doing big things over there. From 4 wins to 18 wins. You know what I'm seeing in his future? Cha Ching. You know, you're proven that you could coach on that level. I think he's gonna see a really sweet payday moving forward.
Rich Davis
I was gonna say, don't make any big real estate investments, Doug, because you're gonna get a big gig somewhere bigger soon. And congrats to him. You know what, Sam? I can feel it in you that you, you miss him yelling at you behind the scenes. You miss it.
Isaac Loewincron
It depends on the day.
Rich Davis
You miss him putting you down. I get it depends on the day. But, you know, I, I, I'm happy
Isaac Loewincron
to see his success.
Steve Covino
Yeah, that's big.
Rich Davis
I wish him well, man. I'll be honest, you know, why?
Steve Covino
Because it was, it was looking grim or glum.
Rich Davis
Grim.
Steve Covino
It was a rim.
Rich Davis
But you know what? As I saw his quote, which is like, we're building this, you could watch from TV or come here and be part of it. And you know what? Good for Gottlieb. You gotta call it like it is. And he's, he's doing well. So congrats.
Steve Covino
It's working like you said.
Rich Davis
All right.
Webull or Advertisement Voice
That's all she wrote.
Steve Covino
Thank you.
Rich Davis
I was saying.
Steve Covino
Let's go.
Rich Davis
Isaac Loewincron for an update.
Steve Covino
Hey, Isaac.
Jay Shetty
Hey, fellas. Former Notre Dame head coach Lou Holt passed away today at the age of 89. Holtz went 132 over 11 seasons as the head coach of the Fighting Irish, including winning the national championship in 1988. The AFC champion New England Patriots are releasing four time Pro bowl receiver Stefan Diggs. The Kansas City Chiefs trading all Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams for four draft picks, including a first rounder. The Dallas Cowboys restructured the contracts of quarterback Dak Prescott, receiver CD Lamb and left guard Tyler Smith in order to get under the salary cap. ESPN reported a short time ago. The Minnesota Vikings are expected to release defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. Finally, Covino and Rich in college basketball. We have a women's Sun Belt Conference tournament brawl update. Today's clash between South Alabama and Coastal Carolina in Pensacola, Florida was marred by a wild fourth quarter melee that saw one of the referees get knocked out. During the fray, seven South Alabama players were ejected. One Coastal Carolina player was ejected. Despite that, South Alabama still wound up winning the game, 80 to 70. Back to you guys.
Rich Davis
Not that it matters, but that the referee that got knocked out. Woman or man?
Jay Shetty
I was a woman.
Rich Davis
Okay. I was a woman. Would have been a little. Okay, that's.
Steve Covino
Either way.
Rich Davis
Either way, terrible story. All right, thank you.

Rich Davis
Yeah, I don't think Australia has a chance.
Steve Covino
No, probably not.
Rich Davis
Yeah, I mean, come on.
Steve Covino
You're probably right.
Rich Davis
I have two things I want to throw out there real quick. Talking to baseball. We're about to get started. I don't think overrated is the right word because he's a great dude, such a great ambassador to the game, a young star. Or as we love to say in baseball, we always call young players studs. Who they keep rating the top hundred players. I know MLB did it, ESPN did. I'm sure Fox Sports did it. And I just saw a glimpse of the top five. Ohtani and Judge are always going to
Steve Covino
be one and two and Wit, he's always up there.
Rich Davis
So Soto, number four and five were Skubal and Soto. Bobby Witt Jr. I am certainly not taking anything away from this amazing young player.
Steve Covino
Dude's got a stick and a glove.
Rich Davis
But is it, is he just like the hot player to put on that in that list like you think Bobby
Steve Covino
would junior look at his stats.
Rich Davis
I know, but you think he's the same level as the other guys? He's the third best player. You would think Bobby Witt Jr. You
Steve Covino
know that's, that's a good question because
Rich Davis
I think his trajectory might be these
Steve Covino
lists put that in my brain that he is.
Rich Davis
But like the trajectory like I looked up, he had 20 something home runs, two 95 last year. Great glove, great all around player playing in Kansas City. I get it. But in my mind he's top 10.
Steve Covino
But four years in the bigs, he had 23 home runs, 23 dongs. He had 32 the year before. He has 105 total. So he's good for like on average 25, 30 home runs.
Isaac Loewincron
Yeah.
Steve Covino
And he's batting around.
Rich Davis
He's a 300 batter. I just think that he's got a
Steve Covino
good glove too though, man.
Rich Davis
Perhaps people are just hot on Bobby Witt Jr. As maybe this is the year where he even gets next level. So hey, keep an eye on Bobby Witt Jr and one other clip I want to play for you guys real quick. Did you hear Bob Costas have a flub with words? Take, just take a listen. Bob Costas, Dickey said and Bird.
Steve Covino
Oh yeah. Two great dicks.
Rich Davis

It’s a different skill set.” | Rich Davis | | 16:36 | “Whoever they team [Logan Paul] up with, there’s also the catch there. Like, who's Logan Paul partnered up with?” | Rich Davis | | 18:02 | “I think [Logan Paul winning is] disappointing, but it’s flag football…It’s not actual football.” | Mike (Big Mike) | | 22:23 | “Trash talking always works.
