I was. I was okay with letting him walk based on what he was going to get paid. But based on our off season, now I'm kind of rethinking it, but put him behind our offensive line with the issues we had this year. I don't think he does it.

But the main reason I was calling.

I don't know if you guys know this. It blew my mind when somebody pointed it out. Do you know that Sam Darnold is actually younger than Joe Burrow?

That is crazy. Yeah, I did not. How old is he, Sam Darnold? Age. Well, you probably know, right? How old is he? 28. He's 20.

You know. Can I give you another interesting one, Cavino?

I know we've talked about this before, but Lamar Jackson is a lot younger than we all think. Just because Lamar is one MVPs and he's, you know, he's. He's been in the conversation for a while. Lamar Jackson's, like, deceptively way younger than we think.

Yeah. Joe burrow, born in 96. He's 29, so props to Darnold, man.

[Rich Davis]

Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson, 28 as well. He's not 30, but, like, the way you talk about Lamar Jackson, you know.

Every year this happens. And listen, we're broadcasters, so you know the risk you're taking. The old expression, mike's hot.

When you have a microphone in front of you. Danny G, you're a super producer. You worked in hip hop, you worked in sports and talk and everything. Is it the common sentiment, no matter what the format, tv, radio, anything. If there's a microphone, what do they say? Assume it's on.

Yeah. You always have to edit yourself. It's kind of like being with old school parents, like around your parents. I constantly edit myself in my mom's presence, and I try to. I try to do the same exact thing here at the studios because you don't know if a mic's gonna pick you up somewhere.

[Rich Davis]

For all you know. Kavino, Iowa. Sam could sabotage. You'd be like, hey, Kavino, tell me a dirty joke. And then he, like, hit your mic on or something.

[Covino]

That's why I'm always nice to Iowa Sam. Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

I've had so many opportunities to do that. You think I would have done it by now.

[Covino]

No, no, that's true. That's why I always treat him kind.

[Rich Davis]

Well, you just Watch. There's a guy calling a hockey game last night. This is wild. He thinks he's going to a timeout, which is what happened with Tom Brennaman, which is what happened with a lot of people. They think they're going to a timeout. I remember Gary Cohen on the Mets didn't say anything controversial, but I remember one time he's like, and we'll be back on sny. And he's like, man, this game really sucks, Gary.

[Danny G]

Remember that?

[Rich Davis]

I was like, gary, like, it happens all the time. But some. Some people get caught a little more out there than others.

[Danny G]

Yeah, this is Thomas Saunders, by the way, the Philadelphia Flyers play by play guy.

Well, take a listen to Thomas Saunders. We had to clearly edit it up a little. Take a lesson. And they're playing from behind. Now they're going to take the TV timeout. We'll take it as well. Now, listen, can I tell you why I love the story? Because he was suspended for a game or so.

And he's going to be just fine. I feel like if this is by no means a fireable offense, but it does. It does deserve a little slap on the wrist, as they say. I think we're at a point now where we've. We're over the whole, he's canceled, he's fired. I think we're over that narrative. It does deserve a little punishment. But I think this is hilarious because it could happen to anyone, which is why anyone in front of a microphone, anyone that does any type of broadcasting needs to be careful at all times.

And in your life. Yeah. But in your regular life, too, always make sure you hung up the phone right? And. And how many times. If you use voice to text, sometimes it's picking up everything you say. And you could almost text that to somebody.

[Rich Davis]

Have you ever accidentally hit the button and it just records in your pocket for like five minutes?

[Covino]

And then it almost sends to someone, oh, my gosh. What was. What was.

[Rich Davis]

What did the guy say? Hey, while you're down there, why don't you beat me?

You can't lie. Like, we've been friends with our video producer spot for 20 years. If he came in the studio and he's like, you idiot. You jostled the wire. Now I gotta. And Spot was crawling onto the console to fix the video equipment. That's something you would jokingly say me or you?

You. I would never say either one of us.

[Rich Davis]

Spot's not type. So what I'm saying is.

Well, sometimes, sometimes people do that by accident. And the recovery is this rich. Look, I'm saving relationships here on the show. The recovery is I saw like the wife or girlfriend. I'm like, why did you send me that? And a guy's gonna panic. Oh, I saw this dress and I thought it would look great on you. Don't get out of here.

Like, oh, no, I love the on scene reporter. You've seen this a million Times where they don't realize they've gone to the live and they're still, like, setting up and they say some dumb stuff.

And it's like, janet, we're live. I have a story about Covino.

Guys, you know, my parents do this a lot, too. And I hang up for them because I know they're about to say something embarrassing. Something. All right, all right, all right, Mom. All right, dad, Later. Right? And then, like, they don't hang up the phone because they're old and they don't know what's going on. And then I'll hear how you're like.

[Rich Davis]

Hey, what did he want?

And my mom's about to say, I don't know. He's an aunt.

I know they're about to say something about me. He's wasting all his money. He's an idiot, whatever. And I hang up for them because I know they're about to say something. And then your dad was like, as long as you're down there.

Be careful with all technology. Microphones, phones, anything. Danny G. We were, you know, different men in our 20s. Kavino and I were out to a lunch spot getting sandwiches, and we had a model on our show who was sort of flirting with Kavino.

She wasn't like a model, bro. She was. She was more than a model, I think.

Well, I was trying to keep it a little classy.

[Covino]

Yeah. Well, we were doing a radio interview.

[Rich Davis]

With a woman that makes adult content.

And she was all about Covino. And Danny G. Covino accidentally calls his girlfriend. She's like, hello, Hello. He doesn't realize he called her. She hears a whole conversation of me telling Covino, bro, do it. Your girlfriend will never find out.

Rich was egging me on. Yeah. She heard Rich egging me on about this girl.

I can never trust Rich again.

She's like, rich is a creep. I hate him.

Yeah. Oh, my God, I totally forgot about that.

NFL as well. And one of those games, well, it's the only game on primetime on Saturday. But how are you not all pumped about packers at Bears? That happens at 8:20 Eastern, 5:20 out here on the west side. Packers at Bears prime time, Saturday, December 20th. So tomorrow you're gonna get a battle for the NFC North. So that's got your full attention earlier in the day. Eagles commanders, we'll watch that just because we love football.

But your primetime game tomorrow, which deserves the TCL love. Packers at Bears. Now when you go to Sunday, there's not a lot of pickings for the early games. Jets, Saints, Bills are going to kill. Now if you want to have the NFL Sunday Ticket, the boxes on the other TV have at it. But Bucs, Panthers, a battle for first place.

And I'm pretty sure the studio was 50, 50 divided on who had that game. Carolina at home. I'm pretty sure I still think it's the Panthers that have this game.

You think I am, but I can't, you know, automatically think they're going to win. I think they've, they've been playing like ass, dude. The second half yeah, that they are.

They are the opposite of on a. Like a winning hot streak. Alright, now, later games again, it's not, it's not the bet. It's not the best week for games on Sunday because we had an amazing game. Game of the year was last night. And we have Packers, Bears tomorrow. So Sunday. A little light. A little light. But there is one game in the late set. In fact, two games in the late set. And we had a hard time deciding. You're not watching Bengals, Dolphins, Maybe a week or so ago you thought that might have been something. There's two games you got to decide between. Do you want to see what Trevor Lawrence has going up against the Denver Broncos in Denver? Bo Nicks, Trevor Lawrence, a battle of the youth. Or do you want to go to Detroit and see if the Lions somehow stay alive in the playoff race against Aaron Rodgers? Aaron Rodgers playing inside up in Detroit. Those are the two games to choose between. If you ask me. I think the Lions are sort of out the mix. Aaron Rodgers, whether they win that game or not, it doesn't really matter because they, they still have a game up on the Ravens. That game has less significance. I am putting the Jags, Broncos on the big tv.

I think it's the one that deserves it, right?

I mean the Broncos, they win this game, they're 13 and 2. And like we got to start thinking maybe Bo Nixon, Peyton, Sean Payton, who we laughed at a couple years ago. Like, remember we said it when he teamed up with Russell Wilson, that early part of season one, people were trying to run Sean Payton out of Denver within a season. Guys about to go 13, 2 if they win this week. And then you got a great game on Sunday night. I am a little shocked as to the Ravens being favored in this game over the Patriots. We talked about this the other day. Danny G. How I don't know how Vegas is using desperation as part of making the spread. Like just because the Ravens need this game, do you think they win this game against New England?
