Celebrate. Celebrate.
Covino
Oh, yeah, let's celebrate.
Rich Davis
I know you said it before on Fox Sports Radio as we rock out and get into a Friday, I have to remind everyone that Covino's closest family member other than his, like, parents, his Uncle Joe.
Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
Once bought a hundred Tickleby Elmos in the 90s thinking he'd become like a millionaire, like selling them on the black market.
Covino
Yeah. He still has like garbage bags of them. Still still has them all.
Rich Davis
So if anyone needs a Tickle Me.
Covino
Elmo, if anyone needs a Tickle Me Elmo from 1990 something, Uncle Joe's your gu. So thank you guys for hanging out with us. By the way, what is the, like, hot Christmas item this year? There's always like something like one big thing like a Tickle Me Elmo. Besides our CNR FSR Turbo football, is there any other, like, hot item? I think it's Labubus. Is it Labubu? I heard they're going to the big screen. Everybody wants a Labubu except for me.
Rich Davis
Yeah, the Labubu rage. You know, it's like a novelty gift that people are buying. Spot. I know you saw this the other day as well. Taylor Swift was in the booth in the, in the luxury suite recording Travis Kelce on like some old school looking camcorder. It's digital, but it looks like a Super 8 camcorder from the 60s. And because she had that, it sold out everywhere.
Covino
Yeah, a lot of kids want digital, just regular digital cameras. And then they have these cameras now that print stickers automatically. Like, yeah, I know. People want tangible things. Kids want the old school stuff. And Taylor Swift, speaking of, could make anything cool again. She's got that power. So speaking of Taylor Swift, she has her docu series on Disney. Plus, later in the show we're going to tell you what you need to watch in the world of sports and entertainment. Do it later this hour. Weekend hobnobbing. We do that every Friday. Plus brainwave and Rich's big TV game of the week. What's up, Rich?
Rich Davis
There's a. Before we get to this clip, by the way, there was a. I think the clip of the week comes from this hockey commentator we're going to get to in a second. But if anyone's living that coaching life or the dad life, you know, when we were kids, remember the phase where ceramic bats were a thing? But you, I Mean, you always talk about your Easton Big Barrel like they were the go to bats in the world of Little League and Ponyball.
Covino
Pretty sure TPX made a pretty popular ceramic bat.
Rich Davis
No, no doubt. TPX absolutely did. Easton tpx. D. Morini was always, you know, in the mix later on. It's a. It's a true joke when you see it on social media how people say dug out of kids is $5,000 worth of bats and two hits just. I bought my son the Easton Hype Fire.
Covino
Oh, you got to get him the big barrel, bro. That's the one.
Rich Davis
No, the Easton Hype Fire. I'm going to show you this bad.
Covino
Boy black magic, man. The Black Magic.
Rich Davis
The Hype Fire. Fernando Fire. The Hype fire and Tatis Jr. And Bobby Witt Jr. Both have like sweet. They look like pencils. And. And honestly, it's really amazing once you dive into the amount of money you could waste for your kid.
Covino
You know what I got sporting goods? The Easton Holiday Heat Miser. That's what I got. I got the Easton Heat Miser.
Rich Davis
I'm going to show you. I'm going to show you this bad boy I bought for a Benny boy for Christmas.
Covino
Yeah, how much does it you back?
Rich Davis
It's a few hundred bucks for a high.
Covino
Put a few hundo for a little kid that picks his nose.
Rich Davis
Dude, he's gonna be hitting rockets. You'll see.
Covino
All right, man. Hey, that's awesome. Hey, I hope Santa Claus is good to all the kiddies out there of the FOX Sports Radio Nation. Now, Rich, before we play this clip that sweep in the nation, remember Jimmy? We lost Jimmy before. Yeah, he's back. Let's say what's up real quick. 87799 on Fox. Jimmy in North Carolina. I'm sorry, Jimmy and K.C. you're on the show.
Rich Davis
What's up, Jimbo? Hey, my phone did like my lifelong Minnesota Vikings did. It disappointed me in the biggest moment, Obviously. Sadly, I'm a lifelong Viking fan and I watched Darnold last year. I was. I was okay with letting him walk based on what he was going to get paid. But based on our off season, now I'm kind of rethinking it, but put him behind our offensive line with the issues we had this year. I don't think he does it.
Covino
But the main reason I was calling.
Rich Davis
I don't know if you guys know this. It blew my mind when somebody pointed it out. Do you know that Sam Darnold is actually younger than Joe Burrow?
Covino
That is crazy. Yeah, I did not. How old is he, Sam Darnold? Age. Well, you probably know, right? How old is he? 28. He's 20.
Rich Davis
You know. Can I give you another interesting one, Cavino?
Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
I know we've talked about this before, but Lamar Jackson is a lot younger than we all think. Just because Lamar is one MVPs and he's, you know, he's. He's been in the conversation for a while. Lamar Jackson's, like, deceptively way younger than we think.
Covino
Yeah. Joe burrow, born in 96. He's 29, so props to Darnold, man.
Rich Davis
Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson, 28 as well. He's not 30, but, like, the way you talk about Lamar Jackson, you know.
Covino
Yeah. He's been around so long.
Rich Davis
Yeah. So, hey, you know, a lot of. A lot of good NFL this weekend. We're going to get to all that. But there's a clip, like you said, that's sweeping the nation.
Covino
Is it the lady that fought everybody in that San Francisco bar and then.
Rich Davis
Fell on her face?
Covino
And then fell on her face? That might be a better fight than the one tonight?
Rich Davis
No, I felt bad for her, but not when someone. When someone acts a fool and then gets hurt, it's hard not to be.
Covino
Like, yeah, that is a really popular clip right now. If. If you haven't seen it, you will by the end of the weekend.
Rich Davis
Every year this happens. And listen, we're broadcasters, so you know the risk you're taking. The old expression, mike's hot.
Covino
Ooh.
Rich Davis
When you have a microphone in front of you. Danny G, you're a super producer. You worked in hip hop, you worked in sports and talk and everything. Is it the common sentiment, no matter what the format, tv, radio, anything. If there's a microphone, what do they say? Assume it's on.
Danny G
Yeah. You always have to edit yourself. It's kind of like being with old school parents, like around your parents. I constantly edit myself in my mom's presence, and I try to. I try to do the same exact thing here at the studios because you don't know if a mic's gonna pick you up somewhere.
Rich Davis
For all you know. Kavino, Iowa. Sam could sabotage. You'd be like, hey, Kavino, tell me a dirty joke. And then he, like, hit your mic on or something.
Covino
That's why I'm always nice to Iowa Sam. Yeah.
Rich Davis
I've had so many opportunities to do that. You think I would have done it by now.
Covino
No, no, that's true. That's why I always treat him kind.
Rich Davis
Well, you just Watch. There's a guy calling a hockey game last night. This is wild. He thinks he's going to a timeout, which is what happened with Tom Brennaman, which is what happened with a lot of people. They think they're going to a timeout. I remember Gary Cohen on the Mets didn't say anything controversial, but I remember one time he's like, and we'll be back on sny. And he's like, man, this game really sucks, Gary.
Danny G
Remember that?
Rich Davis
I was like, gary, like, it happens all the time. But some. Some people get caught a little more out there than others.
Danny G
Yeah, this is Thomas Saunders, by the way, the Philadelphia Flyers play by play guy.
Rich Davis
Well, take a listen to Thomas Saunders. We had to clearly edit it up a little. Take a lesson. And they're playing from behind. Now they're going to take the TV timeout. We'll take it as well. Seven gone in the third. It's three, two, Buffalo on the Philadelphia Flyers broadcast network. While you're down there, would you mind?
Covino
Me?
Rich Davis
I think we're still on the air, Tim. No, we're not.
Announcer
Are we?
Covino
Oh, so embarrassing. Dude, while you're down there, would you mind? Oh, hilarious, dude. So embarrassing, too.
Rich Davis
Now, listen, can I tell you why I love the story? Because he was suspended for a game or so.
Danny G
Two games.
Rich Davis
And he's going to be just fine. I feel like if this is by no means a fireable offense, but it does. It does deserve a little slap on the wrist, as they say. I think we're at a point now where we've. We're over the whole, he's canceled, he's fired. I think we're over that narrative. It does deserve a little punishment. But I think this is hilarious because it could happen to anyone, which is why anyone in front of a microphone, anyone that does any type of broadcasting needs to be careful at all times.
Covino
And in your life. Yeah. But in your regular life, too, always make sure you hung up the phone right? And. And how many times. If you use voice to text, sometimes it's picking up everything you say. And you could almost text that to somebody.
Rich Davis
Have you ever accidentally hit the button and it just records in your pocket for like five minutes?
Covino
And then it almost sends to someone, oh, my gosh. What was. What was.
Rich Davis
What did the guy say? Hey, while you're down there, why don't you beat me?
Covino
I.
Rich Davis
You can't lie. Like, we've been friends with our video producer spot for 20 years. If he came in the studio and he's like, you idiot. You jostled the wire. Now I gotta. And Spot was crawling onto the console to fix the video equipment. That's something you would jokingly say me or you?
Covino
You. I would never say either one of us.
Rich Davis
Spot's not type. So what I'm saying is.
Covino
Thanks.
Rich Davis
I. I feel. I feel for the not. I'm. I think. I think a slap on the wrist of course is. Is going to happen, but I'm so glad that it's more of a funny thing. And yeah, suspended for two games. You be careful what you do.
Covino
It's embarrassing though. It is like. I get it, you know, but it is embarrassing. He has to feel like ass for that.
Dan Beyer
There. There's only one way to. One way to save it is then you immediately go into, I'll take a Dyson fan for Christmas. Go to Dyson.com, get the fans that you need. This line change brought to you by Dyson and then just constantly refer to it like they are a new spons.
Rich Davis
That's their tagline.
Dan Beyer
Yes.
Rich Davis
That's.
Dan Beyer
That's how you just, just sell it for the rest of the broadcast, Dyson.
Covino
And while you're down there, yeah, DB.
Rich Davis
You know, two for one. Sell DB You. You're thinking outside the box. Which is what I like.
Covino
Which is what I like. Yeah.
Rich Davis
You know what?
Covino
He probably did have a split second thought of how do I save this? You know, because it's like an oh, no, it's definitely that. Oh, no feeling like, did I really say that on the air?
Rich Davis
It's this new candle company.
Covino
You know, there's some funny, funny clips on social media. You ever scroll, you're doing the bowl scroll, right? And maybe you're just watching some girl dance in a really short skirt or something and then you almost accidentally send it to your wife or girlfriend. Well, sometimes, sometimes people do that by accident. And the recovery is this rich. Look, I'm saving relationships here on the show. The recovery is I saw like the wife or girlfriend. I'm like, why did you send me that? And a guy's gonna panic. Oh, I saw this dress and I thought it would look great on you. Don't get out of here.
Rich Davis
That's so funny.
Covino
That's the recovery. I saw this dress and before I bought it, I wanted to see if you liked it or you'd be like.
Rich Davis
Oh my God, can you believe this hoochie?
Covino
Yeah, because there's so many times where guys mess up like that by accident.
Rich Davis
Like, oh, no, I love the on scene reporter. You've seen this a million Times where they don't realize they've gone to the live and they're still, like, setting up and they say some dumb stuff.
Covino
Yup. Oh, man. Yeah, be careful.
Rich Davis
And it's like, janet, we're live. I have a story about Covino.
Covino
Guys, you know, my parents do this a lot, too. And I hang up for them because I know they're about to say something embarrassing. Something. All right, all right, all right, Mom. All right, dad, Later. Right? And then, like, they don't hang up the phone because they're old and they don't know what's going on. And then I'll hear how you're like.
Rich Davis
Hey, what did he want?
Covino
And my mom's about to say, I don't know. He's an aunt.
Rich Davis
Right.
Covino
I know they're about to say something about me. He's wasting all his money. He's an idiot, whatever. And I hang up for them because I know they're about to say something. And then your dad was like, as long as you're down there.
Rich Davis
I'm about.
Covino
To hear something I don't want to hear.
Rich Davis
That's funny.
Covino
Yeah, I do have to hang up.
Rich Davis
Be careful with all technology. Microphones, phones, anything. Danny G. We were, you know, different men in our 20s. Kavino and I were out to a lunch spot getting sandwiches, and we had a model on our show who was sort of flirting with Kavino.
Covino
She wasn't like a model, bro. She was. She was more than a model, I think.
Rich Davis
Well, I was trying to keep it a little classy.
Covino
Yeah. Well, we were doing a radio interview.
Rich Davis
With a woman that makes adult content.
Covino
Yeah.
Rich Davis
And she was all about Covino. And Danny G. Covino accidentally calls his girlfriend. She's like, hello, Hello. He doesn't realize he called her. She hears a whole conversation of me telling Covino, bro, do it. Your girlfriend will never find out.
Covino
Rich was egging me on. Yeah. She heard Rich egging me on about this girl.
Rich Davis
I can never trust Rich again.
Covino
She's like, rich is a creep. I hate him.
Rich Davis
I was like, covino, what's a bad influence?
Covino
Yeah. Oh, my God, I totally forgot about that.
Rich Davis
I was like, camino, you're only in your 20s once. Do it.
Covino
They're like, no, no, no, I can't.
Rich Davis
Rich poisoned the well of that relationship.
Covino
Yeah, it was horrible. But again, always make sure the mic's not hot. That's the reminder here. Even professionals calling hockey games, let it happen. Don't let it happen to you.
Rich Davis
All right, well, you know what? It's time for we do it every Friday. The big TV game of the week.
Covino
Hit it. You should see my set up. I got an extra tv.
Rich Davis
The game that I will have.
Covino
We should call it Rich's big TV Game of the Week. It's Rich's big TV game of the Week.
Rich Davis
All right, well, we are in for a treat because I don't even know if everyone realizes this is when we start flexing some games for Saturday. And you got games not only on Sunday, but Saturday. NFL as well. And one of those games, well, it's the only game on primetime on Saturday. But how are you not all pumped about packers at Bears? That happens at 8:20 Eastern, 5:20 out here on the west side. Packers at Bears prime time, Saturday, December 20th. So tomorrow you're gonna get a battle for the NFC North. So that's got your full attention earlier in the day. Eagles commanders, we'll watch that just because we love football.
Covino
Right.
Rich Davis
But your primetime game tomorrow, which deserves the TCL love. Packers at Bears. Now when you go to Sunday, there's not a lot of pickings for the early games. Jets, Saints, Bills are going to kill. The Browns, Chiefs without Mahomes. Yeah, no one's going to watch them play. The Titans, Chargers, Cowboys. There is one game that's worthy of the TV worthy and that is Big Mike, who runs his place. His Panthers against Baker Mayfield and the Bucks.
Covino
Yeah, I knew you were going to say that, Richard. We talked about that. Was it yesterday when Mike came back barging in? Was it yesterday? Yeah. That's a game to be a fun one.
Rich Davis
So that, that's the one early game that Sunday. If you're running some errands or doing some last minute holiday shopping. Not a lot of great games early on. I got to be truthful. I gotta, you know, gotta call it as I seize it. Only one good game in the early set. We're not worthy. And the only one that's worthy of the big tv Bucks and Panthers. Now if you want to have the NFL Sunday Ticket, the boxes on the other TV have at it. But Bucs, Panthers, a battle for first place.
Covino
And I'm pretty sure the studio was 50, 50 divided on who had that game. Carolina at home. I'm pretty sure I still think it's the Panthers that have this game.
Rich Davis
You're, you feel like you're, you're a big Baker guy.
Covino
You think I am, but I can't, you know, automatically think they're going to win. I think they've, they've been playing like ass, dude. The second half yeah, that they are.
Rich Davis
They are the opposite of on a. Like a winning hot streak. Alright, now, later games again, it's not, it's not the bet. It's not the best week for games on Sunday because we had an amazing game. Game of the year was last night. And we have Packers, Bears tomorrow. So Sunday. A little light. A little light. But there is one game in the late set. In fact, two games in the late set. And we had a hard time deciding. You're not watching Bengals, Dolphins, Maybe a week or so ago you thought that might have been something. There's two games you got to decide between. Do you want to see what Trevor Lawrence has going up against the Denver Broncos in Denver? Bo Nicks, Trevor Lawrence, a battle of the youth. Or do you want to go to Detroit and see if the Lions somehow stay alive in the playoff race against Aaron Rodgers? Aaron Rodgers playing inside up in Detroit. Those are the two games to choose between. If you ask me. I think the Lions are sort of out the mix. Aaron Rodgers, whether they win that game or not, it doesn't really matter because they, they still have a game up on the Ravens. That game has less significance. I am putting the Jags, Broncos on the big tv.
Covino
I like it. Yeah.
Rich Davis
I think it's the one that deserves it, right?
Covino
I mean, it is.
Rich Davis
I mean the Broncos, they win this game, they're 13 and 2. And like we got to start thinking maybe Bo Nixon, Peyton, Sean Payton, who we laughed at a couple years ago. Like, remember we said it when he teamed up with Russell Wilson, that early part of season one, people were trying to run Sean Payton out of Denver within a season. Guys about to go 13, 2 if they win this week. And then you got a great game on Sunday night. I am a little shocked as to the Ravens being favored in this game over the Patriots. We talked about this the other day. Danny G. How I don't know how Vegas is using desperation as part of making the spread. Like just because the Ravens need this game, do you think they win this game against New England?
Covino
No, I don't.
Rich Davis
I, I don't get that sentiment.
Covino
No, no, especially. And Danny G did make that point earlier this week. Like New England's not dropping two in a row here. This is a bounce back game for the Patriots.
Rich Davis
So New England at Baltimore.
Covino
Even if it's at Baltimore. Yeah.
Rich Davis
And then of course Monday, to wrap it all up, Kavino, my dude, Philip Rivers, I wish him luck, but not too much luck because he's playing my 49ers at home. So those are good games to watch, but I feel like you're gonna get a really good one. Saturday, Packers, Bears. That's my favorite game of the week. So there you go. Lock it in. Tcl. And coming up, we are gonna play Brainwave. So if you want a Kavito on Rich Nerf Turbo football, all you gotta do is call right now.
Covino
And by the way, you could watch it at Covino and Rich fsr. You got to watch this game. It's very interactive. Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube. But call if you want to play at 87799 on Fox. 87799 on Fox. Your chance to win the greatest stocking stuffer in all the land. Brainwave. We do it next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Now quick timeout. Holiday upgrade check. You still watching a game on an old small tv? It's all about the tcl. The big tv, bro. If you're watching the small tv, why, yeah, you're embarrassing yourself. You have a tiny tv. You're only seeing about half the game.
Rich Davis
TCL is delivering this holiday season like they always do. All the greatest. All the greatest TVs you could check out. How about this one? Cavino. The TCL QM8K mini LED. That's the real MVP. Ultimate brightness, ultimate black levels. The ultimate experience. So clear you could taste the turf.
Covino
And it's not just football. You're going to watch the fight tonight. Maybe a movie afterward. Maybe a holiday classic. Because they look cinematic and games feel smoother. Everybody notices. All your companies be like, ooh, what's that?
Rich Davis
Don't overthink it, guys. Lock it in. The ultimate experience, ultimate savings. Undeniable bragging rights. You're going to have the TV. Everyone sweats. TCL, an official TV partner of the NFL. And you can find all these great TVs. Like I said, the QM8K, that's the ultimate choice. The versatile QM6K for an elevated game day experience. You can find all TCL products at all major retailers.
Covino
Tcl, the official TV partner of the NFL. Find TCL at the retailers. Like Rich said, tcl. Bigger, brighter, better holiday. Select models, limited time. See all major retailers for details. Thanks again to tcl.com.

Hey, Rich, you know we're on the air, right? Oh, I'm sorry.
Danny G
You just need to try and match the brain of CNR and the crew. All right, we're gonna get our contestant on the studio lines right now for that football. Craig in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was the first through. What up, Craig?
Rich Davis
What's going on, gentlemen? How are you guys doing?
Covino
How are you, buddy?
Rich Davis
Come on, man. Let's get on the same brain wave. Let's win something.
Danny G
Come on, Craig, what do you do for a living there in Florida?
Rich Davis
Chiropractor.
Announcer
Oh, cool.
Danny G
All right, I have five. Rich, you don't know what that is, do you?
Covino
Danny G. Have you seen all these AI Chiropractor videos? Those SORA ones? Have you seen them, Craig?
Rich Davis
Yeah, they're awful. I believe them.
Danny G
All right, I have five rounds ready to go. Our contestant needs to win two of them to be the champ and walk away with a CNR nerf football. I'm going to ask a question and then give three debatable answers to choose from. The six of us in studio are going to write down our answers on these dry erase boards for our YouTube channel. And then on the count of three, the caller shouts out his answer. Craig has to match with four of us to win the round. Or no matter his answer, if all six of us in studio match, it's an automatic point for the caller. All right, are you ready? Let's go, everybody. Get your dry erase board out. All right, here we go. Round one. Let's start with a question about super bowl food. Which of these can you not skip when preparing a Super bowl party spread? Wings, pizza, or nachos? Which can you not skip when preparing a Super bowl party spray?
Covino
Let's see.
Danny G
You gotta wait.
Covino
You gotta wait. You gotta wait. Oh, it's all good. I'm ready. I'm locked in.
Danny G
Yeah, I already started writing mine down before he. Yeah, you gotta wait, Craig. Okay, on the count of three, we'll take your answer. One, two, three, way. He was a little premature. It's the first time it's ever happened in his life.
Rich Davis
That's okay.
Danny G
All right, Covino, you're up first. Go.
Covino
All right, Stevie. Like wingy wings.
Danny G
All right, Rich Davis.
Rich Davis
I'll be honest. I didn't let him sway me because I was thinking about it, I was like, ooh, nachos. But nachos are pain in the ass to make. Pizza is more of, like, a get together food. But super bowl is when you break out the wingy.
Covino
Yeah, for sure.
Dan Beyer
All right, DB I had 100% had him sway me. I was about to write nachos, and I heard wings. So I went, wings. Come on, team player over here.
Covino
Cheater, cheaters, cheater. The holiday season, time to give.
Danny G
All right, Spotty boy.
Covino
Spotty team today playing for Colin in Canada. On the YouTube chat, I agree with him. It is wings. Spotty, like wingy.
Danny G
He's already a winner. Yeah, so I'm. I'm changing my answer of wings.
Rich Davis
All right, I said, tommy want wingy too.
Danny G
So, yeah, I said wings.
Covino
You know what I do think? Sweep for the wings. Best answer.
Rich Davis
Rich.
Covino
Nailed it. That explanation was perfect. Like, we're gonna be eating pizza tonight for fight night. Super bowl, the wings around. How am I gonna pass that up?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I don't think you do pizza on Super Bowl. Like, if you would have said, like, oh, some dip or something, that might have been answered, but I think, yeah, wings is the answer. Danny G. You're right.
Danny G
All right, Craig. Halfway. Halfway to a CNR prize. And Craig, don't shout out your answer this time until we ask for it. Okay?
Rich Davis
I gotcha.
Danny G
All right, round. Round two. Let's go to music. Which of these bands is the most quote unquote overrated? Kiss, bon Jovi or YouTube? Which of these bands is the most overrated? Kiss, bon Jovi or YouTube? All right, we're all writing our answers down.
Covino
I'm thinking the who just to upset Iowa.
Rich Davis
Sam.
Covino
That's not accurate.
Danny G
Speaking of Sam, we are gonna go in reverse order this time. So Samuel L. Johnson, after we get Craig's answer here, on the count of three, all right. One.
Rich Davis
Locked in.
Danny G
Two, three. Craig.
Rich Davis
Bon Jovi.
Danny G
He says Bon Jovi. What do you say?
Rich Davis
Sam, I. I'm a fan of this band, but I said Kiss.
Danny G
All right, so the other bands, I can name at least one or two songs. I really like this one. I cannot. I also said Kiss.
Covino
Wow.
Rich Davis
Really?
Danny G
All right. Spotty boy playing for chimed in, and.
Covino
I agree with him. Ever since. Since they threw those. That music on our iPhones against our will. You too.
Danny G
All right, Dan Beyer.
Dan Beyer
Well, there's no way I would ever say you two. It's my wife's favorite band. We've went and seen them in concert a few times. Her more than me. Listen, I don't think Kiss gets enough credit because they're all marketing for some of the good songs. And I think Bon Jovi's best song is Runaway before they actually made it huge.
Covino
That's a good point.
Dan Beyer
Give me Bon Jovi.
Covino
All right, man. I feel. I feel terrible at my answer.
Rich Davis
Now, Rich Davis, who's our contestant again?
Danny G
Craig.
Rich Davis
Craig, your head's up your ass because three of the guys on the. On the panel here are New York and New Jersey guys. So Bon Jovi is not going to be the answer for half the people here. Secondly, I'm with Dan Byer. U2 has catalogs of hits, Kiss markets. Well, I want to rock and roll all night and party Every Day is the only song you might even. Even though Kiss overrated on every level.
Covino
All right.
Danny G
And just for fun, Covino, what did you say?
Covino
Rich could kiss my ass. And I feel bad saying this, cuz, you know, Dan Byer's wife is a great woman. But tonight, thank God, it's damn instead of you. You too, mano.
Danny G
You too.
Dan Beyer
My wife is just texted. I'm officially a Rich Davis guy now. So I am a Rich Davis guy.
Rich Davis
I could take Dan Meyer. I can name you 20U2 songs. You know, you and I, bud.
Danny G
All right, let's go to the third round. Sports. Round three. Which of these positions is the most difficult to play in the major leagues? Catcher, third base, or center field? Which position is the most difficult to play in the majors? Catcher, third base, or center field? All right, we're all writing our answers.
Covino
Down.
Danny G
And Craig, on the count of three, needs your answer. One, two, Three.
Rich Davis
Catcher.
Danny G
Catcher, he says. Covino.
Covino
Yo, I think I got behind the plate one time and it was impossible when the bat starts swinging your way. Plus the equipment wasn't for me. Catcher all day, bro.
Announcer
All right.
Rich Davis
Kavino is that little, little Leaguer. That was flinching.
Covino
It was a flinchy position for sure.
Danny G
Rich Davis, what say you?
Rich Davis
I mean, center field, you got to have some speed. Third base, hot corner, baby. But there's a reason why Cal Rally almost won the mvp. The only argument all year long was yo, Aaron Judge has the numbers and. But Cal Riley catches every day. Catcher.
Danny G
All right, Dan Beyer, catcher.
Covino
Yeah, Spotty Boy, I'm gonna have to go with catcher.
Danny G
That's a winner right there. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Covino
Way to go, Craig.
Danny G
Craig, you know we have time quickly to throw in a C and R Kuzzi. All right, so, Craig, you won a football already. Let's do entertainment to end things off this week.
Rich Davis
Excellent.
Covino
Excellent.
Rich Davis
Thanks.
Danny G
Which of these cartoons will live on through reruns the longest?
Covino
Oh, good.
Danny G
The Flintstones, Tom and Jerry or Popeye? Which of these cartoons will live on the longest through reruns? The Flintstones, Tom and Jerry or Popeye? We're all writing our answers down. And Craig, we need your answer on the count of three. One, two, three. Tom and Jerry says Tom and Jerry. Sam.
Rich Davis
You know, Steve, we share a love of Popeye.
Covino
Yeah, we do.
Rich Davis
But I also watched a lot of the Flintstones on Nickelodeon, Nick, at night. So I went with the Flintstones.
Danny G
All right, well, you know what, Craig? You get a point for me because I said Tom and Jerry.
Rich Davis
There you go.
Danny G
Yeah, forever Tom and Jerry. All right.
Covino
Spotty yabba dabba doo. Flintstones.
Danny G
All right, all right, Dan Byers.
Dan Beyer
I mean, the show's been on for 600 million years. It's got to be the Flintstones, right?
Danny G
What did you say, Rich Davis?
Rich Davis
Now, I. I'm a good gauge of this. I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old. I love Popeye, but my kids don't know who Popeye is. Tom and Jerry.
Danny G
Nope.
Rich Davis
But you know what they need? You know what they eat all the time? Fruity Pebbles. Remember Barney Rubble? He loves Fruity Pebbles in a major way. They're on the. The box of Fruity Pebbles. Flintstones for fun.
Danny G
Covino, what did you say?
Covino
I said Popeye, dude. Popeyes Chicken. Popeye.
Rich Davis
Yeah, we're different things.
Covino
Teach kids eat spinach, Popeyes chicken.
Danny G
We are too divided on.
Rich Davis
That's your answer.
Danny G
But Craig, Popeye, Craig and Fort Lauderdale did win a CNR Turbo Nerf football, though. Congratulations, Craig.
Covino
Thanks, guys.
Rich Davis
I appreciate it, man.
Covino
Congrats.
Rich Davis
Merry Christmas, man.
Covino
All right, great questions. Great game. By the way, are footballs more edible than a Popeyes biscuit? Really, man, I don't know. I think Popeye still works. I think it translates with the kids today.
Rich Davis
I agree. I'm just saying what lives on go down the cereal aisle. There's like 20 versions of fruity Pebbles now.
Covino
Dude, I'm a huge fan of Cocoa Pebbles, so I'm not hating on the Flintstones. I think they're all great answers. That's what makes it tough. All right, so we play this every Friday. Brain Wave. Thanks for playing, Craig. You're the big winner. Happy holidays. It's time for Dan Byers update.
Dan Beyer

Rich Davis
Yeah, let's go living for the weekend.
Covino
You're winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing.
Rich Davis
You ever done anything dangerous? You ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Covino
That is dangerous. Friday brings us weekend hob Nobby. All right, I'll kick it off. It's an obvious one. Friday night fights are back on Netflix tonight. I know. Jake Paul, aj, Anthony Joshua. It should be an easy night for Anthony Joshua, but it's boxing. It's Jake Paul. Anything could happen. We're all getting together, we're all watching, we're all talking about it on Monday. So tune in. Even if you hate Jake Paul, right? It's your chance to see him get a beat down. So Jake AJ tonight on Netflix, but after the fight. We've been talking about it all week. Danny G. You're finally on it right after the fight. Maybe you check out the Beast in Me on Netflix. I finally finished it this week and I highly recommend.
Rich Davis
And I hate everything.
Covino
Yeah it's the perfect level of Thriller and cheese. It was perfect. Claire Danes is great. The characters were awesome. I loved it.
Danny G
It's crazy because I took your guys's advice, but you still haven't taken mine and watched Landman.
Rich Davis
I was gonna say Kavino. How about you flip the script and say, well, Danny's been recommending Landman. Maybe you start that this weekend.
Covino
I thought I told you guys I'm more of an ass man. But anyway, eight episodes. Beast In Me with Claire Danes. Check it out on Netflix. In theater, in theaters. Avatar, Fire and Ash. Now, I'm not a big Avatar guy, but the trailer looks great. It looks cool. I love the ride. I'm a fan of the franchise, so I might as well check it out in theaters if you get a chance. Fire and Ash, Avatar.
Rich Davis
I thought you were gonna say in theaters this weekend. SpongeBob, the search for SquarePants.
Covino
No, no. Fire and Ash. And let me shamelessly promote our bonus podcast, because if you want to get hyped for the fight tonight, we break it down. All things fights, all things boxing with two Tone to superstar. He's our analyst this week. And we talk about Jake and AJ. How could Jake possibly win? Is it AJ's fight? What happens if Jake gets the best of him? Find out on over promised episode 122. We also talk about Teofimo and Shakur and Terence Crawford's retirement and Rich's picks. Over promised on covino and rich FSR on YouTube.
Rich Davis
Know what I love? Covino goes, do you need anything? And I go, bring some. Bring some seltzer. She's like, oh, you were serious. So, yeah, we're all going to be at my place tonight having some drinks, watching the fight. So you gotta put that Jake Paul fight on everyone's agenda. That's. That's tonight. And by the way, Sebastian Maniscalco, I like what he says. You should never have to bring anything. Just bring yourself.
Covino
Yeah, but is it okay if I bring, like, leftover drinks in my fridge? Yeah, sure.
Public Sponsor
That works.
Rich Davis
Sure. All right. I have a few things. My dad's been actually watching all the Letterman interviews on Netflix. My next guest. Oh, yes. And the. The Sandman. I haven't watched that one yet, but Jason Bateman is also a new one, too. So if you want to see David Letterman with Jason Bateman, who I'm a big fan of, that's gonna be on Netflix, on Prime. I don't know if I'm the only one that watched season one. I feel like our buddy spot did as well, Fallout I thought was fantastic. Based on the video game Fallout.
Covino
Right.
Rich Davis
So season two is now out and that stars the girl like Katy Perry. I forgot her name.
Covino
And Zoe Deschanel.
Rich Davis
No, no, Kavino, who is our last guest, if you remember, who was our last guest at SiriusXM before COVID Walton Goggins. Your pal Walton Goggins is in Fallout and he's great. And I know you're a big fan, so if you haven't seen season one, season two starts now.
Covino
Was that Rich's way of getting the name cuz he forgot? No.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
Danny G
All right, there are four big college playoff games this weekend. Who moves on tonight? Alabama at Oklahoma. Tomorrow, Miami at Texas A and M. Tulane at Ole Miss, and James Madison at Oregon.
Rich Davis
Damn, I can't wait. Iris, Sam, you coming over a little earlier to watch the start of that game? Go do what we need to do and get over here. I'll put on the college football. Get over there asap, Rocky, because I'm pumped for tonight. A lot of good sports on.
Covino
Yeah, well, sweet. I can't wait to watch Iowa Sam eat all the meatballs tonight. I love to see his face when he eats. Lay off. I'm starving. All right, so, guys, thank you for hanging out, enjoy the fights, and thank you for enjoying Kavino and Rich. What a week. Another week in the books.
Rich Davis
So again, don't forget tomorrow that the Packers Bears game is a Saturday game. So a little special. All right, we'll see you guys.
Covino
Don't forget things that make you go.
Rich Davis
No doubt. Until then. Arriba. There too, baby.
Covino
See you in the promised land. And later, guys.
Rich Davis
Happy holidays.

Date: December 20, 2025
Hosts: Steve Covino, Rich Davis, Danny G, Dan Beyer
This lively installment of The Dan Patrick Show (guest-hosted by Covino & Rich) covers the week's sports and pop culture news with their signature banter and humor. The main highlights include viral sports broadcaster mishaps, Super Bowl party essentials, a breakdown of the NFL weekend schedule, interactive games with callers, and what to watch for the weekend. Expect candid takes, playful debates, and memorable stories on the power of live microphones, parenting, nostalgia, and NFL anticipation.
Hilarious, fast-paced, lightly irreverent, and sports/pop-culture savvy. Covino & Rich thrive on riffing off each other and looping in the crew and callers for a community feel. There’s genuine nostalgia, self-deprecating humor, and a recurring theme about always being careful with technology (mic/live fail stories), making the show relatable and fun for all ages.
This episode is a blend of old-school sports radio (complete with listener participation), timely sports previews, and the hosts’ infectious enthusiasm. It’s a celebration of sports community, the evolving NFL schedule, and the unpredictability of live broadcasting — all with plenty of laughs and pop culture references.
