Yeah. You know, and it's like, it's like, it's lame. It's like when, remember when Metallica cut their hair, they got so, so much criticism because of it.

I forgot about it. It's like a, it's like a wrestler, too. Like if, if you're a wrestler with long, wet looking hair in the 80s or 90s and you go to some like, fan fest and you have to sign autographs like, Jake the Snake always has to have a mustache and like ratty looking hair.

Oddly enough that all those modeling gigs on the romance novels, they, they narrowed it down between two people. And I always felt bad for the runner up. It was, it was Fabio or Isaac Lo and Crumb.

right, now the Yankees, I want to wrap this up. They want a new alternate jersey. Not even a city connect jersey, just an alternate away jersey, meaning the home jersey. The pinstripes stay the same. My compromise is they're still going to wear the away grays. You wear them against AL teams away and then when you play NL teams away, where the alternate ones, which is going to be their practice jerseys. That's what they're saying right now, the blue and gray. I don't see how this is an issue yet. There's so many crybaby fans about this and more like crybaby radio hosts. I can't believe there's other like New York radio hosts that have a problem with this. It's like, dude, get a life.

[Rich Davis]

People like to not that about anything. To me, it's ridiculous. I've always said that you could say what you would think is like, hey, you know what I. Hey guys, who likes pizza and sex? And there'll be one person that's like, well, I'm pretty asexual and I'm also lactose. Like there's always like to be you. There's always one person. So like you, I know you're a little overrated. I don't know. I don't know. Pizza. Oh, I got, I got a tummy ache. There's always one complainer. But as Far as uniforms go, the Yankees, like I said, there's only two teams that don't have an alternate uniform, like City Connect or some type of third jersey. It's a team with no city. The A's don't have a city connect because they don't have a city to connect to yet. And the Yankees. So I think it's cool that Big G and Aaron Judge. And Aaron Judge made the best point to wrap it where he said, you know, we got advertising logos on our sleeve.

So we broke tradition when we did that. So what's the issue here? And the traditions in the pinstripes. Tradition is not in the away jerseys. No one cares about the away jersey. Stop pretending like we do. And let's. Let's move on and give the fans something else to. To. To wear.

[Rich Davis]

I'm just shocked they leave money on the table. Think of how many Guidos in the Bronx and New Jersey would buy some New jersey if it came out.

[Steve Covino]

Yeah, I think it'd be. It's fun. The fans like it. It's a different time, you know, I can't wait to buy a new jersey. I'm still rocking the jerseys from, like, the 90s.

[Rich Davis]

Do the Yankees ever use that logo that we think of from the 80s? Like that. That top hat? The top hat. The upside down top hat.

[Steve Covino]

Well, there's speculation that the alternate might be a variation where. That's the patch. Okay. So, you know, we'll see what happens. But I'm all for it and I'm glad that they are trying to change it up because you know what the other argument is, too. Why don't you worry about winning a championship first and then worry about jerseys? It's like, I mean, stop being so lame.

Well, guess what? I'm a guy buying a new jersey from New Jersey. Is that confusing? All right, so I'm Steve Cavino from Union, New Jersey. Rich Davis from Franklin Square, Long Island. Danny G. He's from the Barrios, Los Angeles, and he's going to sing for you this hour because he's very pumped about Fernando Mendoza.

That was the deal months ago. He said, danny, if the Raiders do get. This was.

I never agreed to it.

This was if the Raiders get the number one draft pick, which I did.

Yeah, Rich. Rich just kept saying this over and over, right.

Just because you keep saying it doesn't mean like he agreed.

You know, my wife says the same thing. He goes, just because you say it over and over doesn't mean I'm going to do it.

I'm like, I think that's a great point, Danny. I really do. I'm not trying to stifle.

You know what though, for Rich and Raider Nation, I'll do it today.

All right, perfect. We'll do that. We got brainwave coming up. But take a look last night at the NBA playoffs, I told you that while I was locked in a little bit to the NFL draft, like we all are watching pick by pick. It was quick, lacked some funny moments, but it moved along, which is all you could ask for with the short attention span. I saw a meme that said in oh7. Did you see this? I think it was front office sports. Let me, let me look it up real quick to get the exact numbers because it was wild how long the draft had become at one point. Remember how baseball, like what did Michael K. Used to say?

[Steve Covino]

Unmanageable, like four hour game unmanageable. Three hours and 48 minutes.

[Rich Davis]

To show you how trimming the fat and moving things along matters in 2007, round one of the NFL draft was six hours and eight minutes.

Yeah.

[Rich Davis]

Come on. Wait, what? It was two hours and 53 minutes last night.

[Steve Covino]

So. And I understand that like you mentioned that Dan, by six hours.

[Iowa Sam]

That can't be right. That's got to be sarcasm.

[Steve Covino]

Were saying that it did move along too quick yesterday. My only counter argument to them is like everyone's going to have their preference, right? But we live in a world of social media where people's attention spans, especially young people's attention spans are almost non existent. 10 minutes between picks is, is too long in today's world. So the eight minute compromise I think was a, was a great step in the right direction when we need fast moving in today's world. Can't hold onto that long paced draft anymore.

[Rich Davis]

I don't know, I kind of, I. It feels like a big party. It's almost like you don't want to go through it too fast.

[Steve Covino]

Cause you're like, you don't want the night to end. People got things to do, man. Three to three and a half hours is, is good. You know, that's the Academy Awards by

[Rich Davis]

the way, back in 07, each team had 15 minutes. Yeah, I thought it was 15 minutes at 1. Yeah, they had 15 minutes and they're Saying it did go long. I. I think that's a real number. Yeah, but. Yeah, but in 07, I don't. I might not be wrong here.

[Steve Covino]

Dude, we didn't have social media either. That's the thing. It's. It's ruined our attention spans. You can't drag things on that way in today's world anymore. You just can't.

[Rich Davis]

Let's go while we're young.

It's like, you know, it's like Uber minutes. It feels like forever.

[Rich Davis]

Why is my car spinning in circles? The Uber just went from seven minutes to nine minutes, back to seven minutes and it's spinning.

[Steve Covino]

Uber minutes are long.

Pick is in. Let's hear it. Let's not wait 10 minutes. And last night, they moved it along. All right. While you and we all were watching the NFL draft, there was a hell of a game on in Atlanta and a very crucial Game 3. The Knicks had not led that whole game. They led when they were winning, I believe, nine to six. And then Atlanta took over. They were winning the whole game until the Knicks had a pretty sweet comeback, but then let it slip away.

[Iowa Sam]

Melted at the very end.

[Rich Davis]

Oh, like, it was close.

[Steve Covino]

They're not good at closing the game.

[Iowa Sam]

They don't close like C.J. mcCollum.

[Rich Davis]

And you know what? They had that last possession and nothing more frustrating. You don't even need to be a fan when the. When the team with possession doesn't even get a shot off.

[Iowa Sam]

We've all seen our favorite team do this where it's hard to get that inbound pass in there. And then when you do, you kind of fumble it around and you saw,

[Rich Davis]

I thought, like, like, if anything, like a shot, right? Or like, oh, Brunson, you know, gave it his best and missed. When you get no shot off, I mean, credit the defense and that, you know, they're pressing right there, but my goodness. Knicks 2, 1.

[Steve Covino]

Yeah, no, the Hawks are. Yeah, the Hawks are up to one.

[Rich Davis]

I know. I'm saying Knicks down to one. That's not good. No bueno.

[Steve Covino]

No, no bueno at all.

[Rich Davis]

But do you believe Danny there's more pressure on the Knicks to turn around or Denver because Jamal Murray had arguably his best career year, right? Jokic is still considered by many because it's a tired conversation, but there's still that many that think he's a top three player in the league by far, Right? I mean, he's an MVP candidate every year. So if you have Jokic and Jamal Murray, you can't have be a first round knockout.

[Iowa Sam]

I Mean, at least in sports talk radio, the Nuggets were kind of fourth down the list when talking finals to represent the west. But in the east, the Knicks were second in line with everybody picking them. So yeah, I think the Knicks, but we talked about this last week on the show. They always seem like they're just one piece away from getting over the hump.

[Steve Covino]

And speaking of one piece, you know,

Rich and I were talking about your new bathing suit.

[Steve Covino]

I can't wait to display it this summer.

Very 1920s of you. He looks like an old strongman now.

Yeah, my sweet. One piece. No, we were talking to Mike who runs his place in our pre show meeting and it seems like the Hawks got rid of their biggest piece and have been better. Like it feels like yesterday Trey Young was the guy they revolved everything around and he was the superstar player for the team and in the league and now without him, they're, they're playing better. It's just so wild to see how that happens sometimes.

Anytime the star player that is sort of the face even to the casual

fan could be what's holding them back.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, you saw that up close and personal. The best example of that ever was if you watch that documentary about the Red Sox, how when Theo Epstein in his 20s takes over the Red Sox and he has the huevos to be like, yeah, we got to get rid of Nomar. And everyone's like, I'm sorry, what you mean like the face of the Red Sox? But getting rid of Nomar Garcia para was what took the Red Sox to the next level. I'm not saying the Hawks are there

forced them to get the pieces they need and play play more like a team.

[Rich Davis]

But dare I say, Danny, rewind the year. I really believe 80% of jerseys you saw kid probably wearing Atlanta were Trey Young, no doubt.

[Iowa Sam]

So Michael Jackson, Michael expected to make 155 million worldwide this weekend. I'd like to see it if you want to stay home. There's a boy band Confidential documentary that I watched and I got to finish the end of it, but so far it was so. It was pretty good. Good. It's the whole story of, like, that boy band rage of the early 2000s. And if. Even if you were into rock, like, like I was and like I am, it's still interesting. That's on hbo, Max, and id. And guys, if I have time, you really hyped up that Jerry west, the logo. So I want to check that out.

It's the Lakers but not it's fun running points. Chet Hanks is in a bunch of good stars. So that season two is now available.
