You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Happy 4th of July. It is the Dan Patrick show here on Fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox in for DP and the guys. Now you can hear Lavar and I and Brady Quinn weekday mornings before the Dan Patrick show on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, 6:00am Eastern Time, 3:00 clock Pacific, but with Brady Quinn not here. Lavar Arrington and I do a show called Black and Drag because lavar's Lavar and I'm really pale. So you put.
Mila Kunis
Wait, wait, hold on. Give a better explanation than that. Well, you're, you're a vampire and I'm a black man.
Dan Patrick
That's correct.
Mila Kunis
So there's my quota. So there's people that think I say my skin color every day, so there's my color. And I call Jonas Dracula Dracula's kid.
Dan Patrick
Dracula's brother, cousin, because Lavar, Lavar claims that he saw me walk in public one time and he was hunting and I turned my head around in 180 degrees looking for something to sink my teeth.
Mila Kunis
And yeah, I seen it.
Dan Patrick
I'm just pale.
Mila Kunis
I seen it, but I seen it. It was the outfit. It. You totally fit all of the stereotypes of a. If it was a stereotype of a vampire in real life, you fit the billing in that. And you scared me. And that's the part, that's the part of the story that you left out. Like I was sitting on my balcony, like far enough, well, far enough away for you not to be able to determine exactly my, my location on my balcony.
Dan Patrick
And then, you know what was the most insulting piece of it all is that I start walking back towards the hotel and I've still didn't turn around and levar he was walking backwards. Lavar started putting garlic inside a paintball gun and firing it off the balcony at me.
Mila Kunis
I wouldn't have been wrong. You startled me when you turned and was looking around for bodies and then your eyes went up and met my eyes.
Dan Patrick
I said, oh, Lavaro, I see crazy. I see Lavar later. He's got a flask. And I'm like, what do you got in there? He's like, holy.
Mila Kunis
Holy water, player.
Dan Patrick
I'm not taking any chances with you. Hell, you weird ass.
Mila Kunis
Weird ass.
Dan Patrick
By the way, it is why you.
Mila Kunis
Be so awake in the morning, man? I always tried to figure out, why are you so awake in the morning, bro?
Dan Patrick
I haven't slept since the 1700s.
Mila Kunis
That's your time to shine. It's still dark out.
Dan Patrick
Now. It has been a already an eventful fourth of July for somebody now that's somebody we don't know. We just know it's the somebody who's responsible for the pair of panties that were laying in the courtyard.
Mila Kunis
I mean, somebody got lucky.
Dan Patrick
There's a pair of panties in the courtyard out in front of the studio.
Mila Kunis
And this, this day and age, this climate, let me say maybe somebody was unlucky. I don't know. Somebody might have got caught up or somebody. They got caught up in the rapture of love, as Anita Baker would say.
Dan Patrick
I would just say that feels like something you would want on you at all times unless things went a certain way. And. And all of a sudden you realize, yeah, you know, you don't need that. You know, maybe you want to get rid of the evidence. But.
Mila Kunis
But here's the thing. If it went down like that and you left your panties, like, right then and there in the courtyard of this office building, don't like, I know it's the 4th of July, but we're here. There's some people that, I saw the security guard there. I mean, would somebody clean them up? Like, would somebody just, you know, scoop and score them into the trash can or something? They just sitting right there for everybody to see.
Dan Patrick
Just some yellow panties. And by the way, not to nitpick here, but it is Fourth of July. You've got three colors to choose from today. Yellow. Yellow wasn't on the menu.
Mila Kunis
It's not on there.
Dan Patrick
Yellow's not on the menu. So get it together next time if you're going to celebrate 4th of July with a pair of panties in the courtyard in front of the studio. Red, white, or blue. That's it.
Mila Kunis
Or green.
Dan Patrick
New class hat.
Mila Kunis
I mean, we are in la.
Dan Patrick
Great point. That's what. That's what we're working with here on this Fourth of July. So hope everybody has a safe one. By the way, we are brought to you by tire rack.com for over 40 years, Tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Shipped fast and free, backed by free road has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire rack.com the way tire buying should be. All right, so we've got conflicting reports here. Mary kay Cabot of cleveland.com says that Kenny Pickett will have the advantage in the Browns quarterback battle, writing Thursday that Pickett's superpower will be his mobility that will enable the Browns to be creative and unpredictable in Stefanski's offense. Specifically, Cavett said that Stefanski will give Pickett more of an opportunity to run keepers, run Pass options and other plays that rely on his strengths. Now, the athletic Zach Jackson added that Flacco, Joe Flacco is the favorite to emerge from a complicated four man quarterback competition and win the starting job ahead of week one. All right, guess what? Everything's on the table in Cleveland, okay? This idea that like, one guy's got the advantage. No, the other guy's got the advantage. Aren't they all kind of in the same spot? It's a team that nobody really expects a whole lot from. You're probably a stopgap quarterback because of the all the picks you acquired for next year and the trade with Jacksonville. So this idea that, well, Flacco's got the advantage, Kenny Pickett's got the advantage. Dude, who's to say Dylan Gabriel and Shadore Sanders don't have the advantage? Everything.
Mila Kunis
They don't.
Dan Patrick
Everything should be on the table though, in Cleveland.
Mila Kunis
I'll say this every. In theory, what you're saying is correct. But you have a 40 year old Joe Flacco who has a body of work. And, and it's. No, it's really, in a way, it's really no different than Aaron Rodgers. Both have one super bowl now granted, people. Oh, I'm outraged. Aaron Rodgers has all of these, these MVP awards and da, da, da. He's the first ballot hall of Famer, you're right. But not today. You know what he is today? You know what he is today?
Dan Patrick
What's that?
Mila Kunis
A guy over 40 that's going into what could perceivably be his last year of football and he has one super bowl championship. Kind of sounds the same to me. I mean, Joe Flacco, 40, got a super bowl, did really well. So he has a body of work to stand on. Kenny Pickett is still sitting on a limited resume. He didn't do horribly bad in Pittsburgh. There were elements that could have been working against him in Pittsburgh and it's led to him having an early departure from maybe possibly being what the Steelers could have used or needed as a, you know, starting quarterback. He was a winning record quarterback when he departed Pittsburgh for Philly. Gets an opportunity to learn from, from that staff in Philadelphia. He, he claims a. Oh, by the way, not as a starter, but he too has a Super bowl ring on his resume as well.
Dan Patrick
That's true. And he got playing time in that Super Bowl. Okay, that counts.
Mila Kunis
You have two super bowl winning quarterbacks on your roster. I believe those are the, those are. If you're saying everything's on the table for consumption, those are the main courses. Those are the one that, that's the turkey you brought out. That's the ham you brought out. It's the Fourth of July. That's the ribs that you brought through. Like, that's those two right there. Now, as it applies to Dylan Gabriel and, and Shador Sanders, I just honestly believe, and especially now that we've seen the, the coverage of Shador Sanders seemingly kind of cool off. The, the overwhelming amount of coverage on him, I think was placing a, a target on Stefanski and this Cleveland Browns team. But that has kind of. It's tailed off a little bit and now it looks as though you're getting into what it's really going to be going into the training camp season. And I think that it's a reality to say that they're not factors in getting on the field. In fact, the biggest, the biggest win for Gabriel and for Sanders would be able to make the active roster or possibly get on the practice squad and see what happens from there. Does another team try to claim your rights or whatever it may be may end up putting you in a different situation on a different team. But that's the reality for these, these rookies. That, that is tremendous. That is a tremendous hill to climb to go from the fifth round to starter. It is a tremendous climb to go from third round to starter when you have two guys that are in front of you that are veterans and one has a lot of potential. He's not. He's not. He's not counted out as being just a bust of a draft for the Steelers. He still has some potential and he's young. The other is older. And you feel a little bit of. Of comfort knowing that if it doesn't work with this younger guy, that could potentially be what we need. We have Joe Flacco to put in that can steady and write the ship. Probably be a great influence on the locker room. So Jonas, I think that it's really not a. Everything's on the table. If you're looking at the two rookies, you're probably looking at it. There's your corn right there. There's your corn on the cob. There's your macaroni and cheese, whatever it may be. They're side dishes but. But they are far from the main dish in this course.
Dan Patrick
My thought on it is this. I think everything should be on the table because it's the Browns and the situation they're in. They should not be closed minded to any option at quarterback. And you know, you made some comments a few weeks Back about, listen, just make sure the starter, like at this point, just make him the starter. And you know, you got pushback on that and some blowback. And my thought on it was, well, why not? Like, why is everything just a surefire bet that it's going to be Flacco or it's going to be Kenny Pickett? Open this thing up and whoever plays the best, you're going to get the opportunity to start. There shouldn't be any politics, there shouldn't be any contractual obligation added into the mix. Kenny picks Tenny Pickett's not on a long term deal. Neither is Joe Flacco and Dylan Gabriel and Chador Sanders are mid round draft picks. So I look at, I go, everything should be open for discussion when it comes to this. Nobody's opinion or theory should be considered crazy. Everything should be under open for discussion. I think it'll be Flacco because I don't think Kevin Stefanski's got the wiggle room to be able to survive another bad year and then come back next.
Mila Kunis
But he has the wiggle room to just throw Shador Sanders in. Ash.
Dan Patrick
I think, I think Kevin Stefanski is looking at this going, dude, I need to go with what's going to save my job. I personally feel like that's going to be Joe Flacco, but I don't think Stefanski is in a position to be like, oh no, no, no, no, no, no, I've got time or I've got this. I can, I can kind of, you know, play with this or, or experiment with that. If I'm Kevin Stefanski, I'm like, look, I know what this organization has. They've got multiple first round draft picks next year. Next year is a much better. That's the opinion from the experts. Much better quarterback draft class. But I've got to produce at some point now or else I'm not going to be here next year. And if I'm Stefanski, he's got to take a look at everything, everything to figure out what is, what is my best path to try and keep my gig. I think it's going to be Flacco. But this idea that like, well, no, it's, it's this and so, and so's got the advantage and that person's got the advantage. Dude, you have no idea. Until you get to training, camping, into games, you have no clue.
Mila Kunis
The real, the real measurement here is it's very difficult to be able to see if a rookie that's never played is ready. You can get an indicator of their, their IQ by how they pick up the playbook, how they handle their reads on, on the field, how they even give the the play call, how they command the the team, you know, and how they approach the play. But until you're in a game, a real game, not even a preseason game, a real game where they can hit you and, and everything matters and everything counts, this is not for scrimmage, for play. This is not for S's and giggles. This is real bullets in the chamber that are coming at you. Now in those games, there are only two guys that have those types of reps under their belts. There are only two guys that have that type of film on their resume and it's not those rookies. So if everything that you're saying is to, to remain and hold true that this is his time to do it or get off of the, the Esser and move on and let somebody else get on the pot, then he is not. To me, that is not a wise and a prudent move to put in a third rounder or fifth rounder to start. I just don't see it. And there's no reason to have had Picket or, or Flacco on the roster if, if that's what you were going to do because you may lose your job by the end of the third, fourth week, fifth week, you may lose your job depending on how badly or how poorly they look. That's the potential of what you face. Now granted, if you did it and it works out, that's different. That's different. You look like a genius. Nobody has anything to say, oh my gosh, we said this all along. Boom, boom, boom. But who is that? Which rookie is that? I don't even think we know which rookie that is. Like you said, there's been reports that have been conflicting reports on who's actually having the most impact as a rookie on the mini camps and the OTAs that have taken place. So to me right now, the most feasible approach to this, if I'm Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns, is to go with the guy that you know is going to give you the best opportunity to win. That sounds cliche, but in a redundant but that's what it is. I think that's Joe Flacco. If they're giving it to Kenny Pickett based off of where they are right now, I wouldn't say it's totally egregious. All I would say is, is that he's not going to have a whole lot of time if he doesn't get in there and show that he can get it done and they can make things work very quickly, very early. I would not be surprised if it shifted to Flacco as quickly as possible. If Flacco doesn't get it done, he stays it. Listen, he stays in as the starting quarterback and they're going to try to figure it out for the duration of the season. And the only way Picket comes back in is if Flaco gets hurt and can't continue on. And then, and then, only then will that show or give any relevance to those rookies as to what they may do. Again, I still believe this is a Boomer bust proposition with Shador Sanders. If you're not really working to get him into that rotation of playing, I don't really see that they have the value. They. It holds value to hold four quarterbacks. One of those, one of those draft picks face getting released from that team. And, and I'm telling you, fifth round pick versus third round pick. It's a no brainer that it's the fifth round pick. Take the names out of it. It's a no brainer that if you're going to release a quarterback on your team when you can, when you're generally only carrying two to three quarterbacks at that position, there's a strong possibility that Gabriel ends up on the practice squad and Shador Sanders ends up going elsewhere, becoming a free agent through release.
Dan Patrick
I mean, sometimes when I'm betting on horses. Cause I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I'll just bet like four horses to win and be like, you know, I mean, something's got to hit. You know, it's like a 10, 12 horse field. Something's got to hit.
Mila Kunis
I do that with roulette.
Dan Patrick
Oh yeah. You bet the inside numbers and it'll.
Mila Kunis
Beat the hell out of you. Trying to come up with what you think, what strategy is going to win.
Dan Patrick
Here's what's great about this. You can, I think you can bet on the brown starting quarterback. I would literally place a bet on all four because I think anything could happen. I really do. Like they're. They're in such a spot.
Mila Kunis
You know, I've done that in roulette and it landed on green. Took all my money. I think Lee was with me. I put all this cash down on evens odds, black, red. That hit green.
Dan Patrick
Oh yeah. I would, I would never gamble again.
Mila Kunis
Took all my cash. Took all my cash. I mean, I put it all out there.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I'd be licking ashtrays. I'd be. I'd be jumping in the Bellagio fountain like it'd be. That's terrible.
Mila Kunis
You all know the point. You want to know the ultimate point of that story? Maybe these quarterbacks are red and black and evens and odds. You don't have any green on your team. Maybe your green is rehabbing or maybe, maybe you're green. Maybe your green is rehab. Yeah, maybe, maybe he's sitting there in, in the wings, he's getting healthy. Everybody's talking about all these quarterbacks right here. What are you going to do with here, these guys? He's steady, rehabbing, getting healthy and then he comes back like Superman in a, in a moment of glory and is now made whole with his big contract and lives up to all of the expectations he had coming in.
Dan Patrick
Hey, the NFL, the NFL's most expensive mentor.
Mila Kunis
That would be an amazing, that would be an amazing storyline that developed, I tell you that.

Happy 4th of July here Levar Arrington, Jonas Knox in for the Dan Patrick show here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in about 20 minutes from now, we are going to have another edition of in case you missed it. For those of you that are not familiar with that, we've got stories from around the world of sports that might have flown by as you were getting ready for the fourth of July festivities. And so we will have those stories for you again about 20 minutes from now here on FSR. I will say this. I went to the grocery store yesterday.
Mila Kunis
How was that?
Dan Patrick
Awful idea. Really awful idea. It's just everybody you Know, running to just buy all the same stuff. Hot dog buns, hot dogs. Like, it just really. It's terrible. Needed to get that.
Mila Kunis
I feel like the few times, the very few times that I can muster up the energy to go into a grocery store, it's a very, very. It's one of the best places that people watch ever. I'm sure I look like a creepy Zoid because I. I'm a watcher. I go to the grove, I'll go find me a nice little, little bench to sit on, and I just watch. I just. People watch.
Dan Patrick
Watching.
Mila Kunis
What do you mean?
Dan Patrick
What do you. What do you mean?
Mila Kunis
What do you mean, watching what? I don't do anything else, Jonas.
Dan Patrick
No, I'm just saying, like, what are you freaking weird? Like, people watching?
Mila Kunis
Yes, that's what I said.
Dan Patrick
Okay, but I mean, like, is there like a particular type of person that you're watching?
Mila Kunis
No, that's why it's called people watching, I think. I didn't. It's not specified. You know, you watch how, like, you look at. I'm. I'm a judgmental person. I. I'll say that I. I look at people and I judge what I see. Like, I see a couple. I judge them, you know, woman to woman, man to man. Woman, man, whatever. I'll be judging, like, nah, they fit. Nah, they don't fit. Like, why are they together? I. I could see why they're together. Oh, that's a pretty family. That is not a pretty family. They got money, they broke. They looking to grab something off the shelves. They using the kids, too. Them kids right there, spoiled as hell. Like, I'll be judgmental as hell when people watching. I'll be doing it in the grocery stores, too, but it'd be some really good looking people in grocery stores.
Dan Patrick
Oh, that's what I was wondering. If that's like a preference.
Mila Kunis
It's not a preference, but if you want. If I were a single in 2025, if I were a single guy, I would be shopping at a grocery store, a nice one, and I would be getting superfoods, because that's where they be.
Dan Patrick
Oh, yeah, look right around the corner here. There's the, the Whole Foods. Yeah. Oh, some spinach for radio people. We call that whole paychecks. And you get spinach.
Mila Kunis
Get some. What they call a quinoa.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. You don't even want that stuff. You don't even want to throw it away. When you get to the parking lot.
Mila Kunis
When you're putting it in your cart, they're like, oh, this guy cares about himself. He eats healthy. You got to have a hook these days because it's got to be hell trying to be a single.
Dan Patrick
That's our deadliest catch. Fill up a crate full of quinoa, throw it into the water. What are they biting on?
Mila Kunis
Oh, no. He grabbed broccoli. He's a rookie. Nope. He didn't know. Broccoli's dropped on the list. He's a faker. He's not really eating healthy. And they look for your body type, too. You know what I mean? You gotta look like you. You gotta look like you work out. You can't look like you're trying to get in shape or back into shape. You gotta look in shape. Then you could go. People watch. And you could make it work at a grocery store.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah.
Mila Kunis
There you go.

Mila Kunis
So remember them?
Dan Patrick
John who Smith. John who Smith was on.
Mila Kunis
On the. On the Miami Dolphins. Yeah.
Dan Patrick
He was on Tron Armstead's podcast recently, and he was just discussing his departure from Miami, and he was disappointed about it. He thought that they, you know, he would be there the rest of his career. Like, he had had designs on that. And for whatever reason, while they thought that communication would pick up and they would have some sort of a. An extension come through after the year that he had, nothing happened, and he didn't really hear much, and he was a little bit disappointed about it. And then ultimately he ended up getting traded to the Steelers. So it does bring up the question. And we talked with Albert breer of the mmqb.com yesterday, and AB kind of laid out exactly why maybe there should be cause for concern with what Miami is doing this off season.
Albert Breer
It's going to involve a word that they will not use when speaking about what they're doing publicly, and that word is rebuild. You know, I. I think they had this window where tool was on his rookie contract. They could expand aggressively, they could build aggressively. And, you know, I think, like, if you really add up everything that's happened this off season, it's sort of an acknowledgment. Okay. Like, we need to move on to the next stage. We need to move on to the phase where we have to build a little bit differently because we have our quarterback on a big second contract. They could delay that by a year or two if they wanted to. But doing that would have to come with a real belief that you're that close to a championship. And if you're being real with yourself and you're Miami, do you feel that way? Like, do you feel like you're a player or two away from. From knocking on the door and knocking off the Chiefs or the Ravens or the, or the Bengals or the, you know, or the Bills? Like, I don't, I don't know that you feel that way, you know, So I think where they are right now, Toronto, Armstead retires, Ramsay's traded. I think they would listen on Tyree Kill. They've got some holes on the roster they didn't have before. Two edge rushers, both having dealt with very serious injuries, and Bradley Chubb and, and Jalen Phillips. Like, I, I just think if you look at the team, you say to yourself, like, how many these guys are going to be here in two years? I think you can name two guys. To me, it's, it's, it's. It's Jalen Waddle and it's Chop Robinson. I guess I should say to also, right?
Dan Patrick
So now that you lay it out like that, Albert Brer, I don't know how anybody's feeling optimistic about the Dolphins going into next year. And it does feel like there was this window of time Tua couldn't stay healthy, and maybe that was that because there was a time where Mike McDaniel was brought in, and it was like, man, this is what a great hire. Sort of a unique guy who has his own style of coaching. And it's. And it's working. And look what he's done with Tua. And after the Brian Flores experiment, it didn't work all that well. And it just goes to show you how small the window of opportunity is to really be competing for championships. And, and the way Albert lays it out, because we were wondering, like, what is the plan? Like, what are they doing here? And so now when you hear conversations of. Listen. If somebody called about Tyree Kill, they'd listen. This is a rebuild. Miami's rebuilding. Like, there's no other way to put it.
Mila Kunis
I mean, it's just hard for me to look at a, at an acquisition of Minka Fitzpatrick as saying that's the indicator of a rebuild. He's not, that's not a young guy. He's not A, he's not a younger guy. And Johnnu is not a younger guy. And Patrick, Patrick, oh, God, Jalen Ramsey, it's not a young guy. These are guys like John who's in what he's got eight years in. Patrick. Why do I keep calling Patrick? Jalen Ramsey's got how many years in? He's, he's getting up there.
Dan Patrick
I mean he's got to have about, is he 31?
Mila Kunis
So I, I mean I, I'm not going to, I'm not going to go fully down the lane of this is really a rebuild altogether because they still have Tua and they still have Tariq Hill and they have some weapons and they do have a young promising guy and Chop Robinson on that team and they do have a Jaylen Waddle to, to go with, to go with the Cheetah. I just, to me, I think that that may be a tad bit of an overreaction. I don't think they're too much in any worse position than what they were last year. Now granted, John, who was a top rated tight end, I mean out of, you know, all the tight ends, he was fourth and receiving yards from last season, it's best season of his career. That might have been it. That might have been it. I mean he's in and year nine. I believe that might have been it. You don't know. I don't, I don't know that you can value saying that you, oh, you got rid of John new, that's it, pack it up. Ain't gonna have a good year. Now, I don't think that you base that type of judgment off of who they just allowed to depart. I really don't because it was like Jalen Ramsey was like a swing guy. Like, you could get prime big play making Ramsey or you could get he's going to get hurt or it looks like he's losing a step. Whatever it may be, it could go either way. So to me, I'm not, I'm not as down on it again. I, I, I would say they haven't been and this is kind of works in their, their favor in a way. They haven't really been relevant enough as winners for it to be such a big deal to say if they're going in the direction of rebuilding or not.
Dan Patrick
Damn.
Mila Kunis
It's just the truth. It's just the truth. I mean, McDaniel was taking them in the right direction.
Dan Patrick
You don't even count.
Mila Kunis
You don't even count. I mean, if we're talking about what are you rebuilding from where are you rebuilding from? Tell me. Well, it's a rebuild. It marks a rebuild. What are you rebuilding for?
Dan Patrick
If we're going to be fair here, they did win a playoff game in, like, 2000. So, you know, they.
Mila Kunis
In the 2000s.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Like 25 years ago. They want to play out. Okay, so.
Mila Kunis
So again, I'm going to ask the question. Like, we're looking at this Miami Dolphins team. They made this. This trade. This signifies and indicates the rebuild. What exactly. What are. What exactly are they. What exactly are they rebuilding from that? And if you can answer that question, then to me, the relevance of the topic comes more to lie. The relevance of the topic becomes more a more valuable topic.
Dan Patrick
Well, they were a playoff team not long ago, and I don't. I just. It. It felt like this was a team where, man, if they could just. They could just keep to a healthy. If they could just, you know, if they could keep him on the field, because when he was on the field, they produce the splits. The numbers are completely different.
Mila Kunis
You're going to say the same exact thing for this year's team.
Dan Patrick
I. I just think it's a.
Mila Kunis
Are they not going to be at least a competitive team if TUA stays on the field, if.
Dan Patrick
If 2 is on the field? I think they're competitive, but I don't think they're a legitimate contender.
Mila Kunis
They weren't a legitimate contender last year. They were not a legitimate contender the year before. They were not. They were not.
Dan Patrick
You didn't think they were a threat to Buffalo?
Mila Kunis
No.
Dan Patrick
Damn.
Mila Kunis
A threat to. Maybe still a game here and there from one of them, but a threat, like, to win. To win it. A true contender to get into the playoffs and win it. Coming out of the afc, as you always make it a point to say, coming out of the AFC side of what's going on, Win it. True contender. When have the Miami Dolphins been been considered to be a possible favorite to make it to the. To the Super Bowl?
Dan Patrick
Like 84. He's better than nothing.
Mila Kunis
How old were you? How old were you? I was six.
Dan Patrick
You were just. You were just an itch in your daddy's pants.
Mila Kunis
Dang.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Mila Kunis
It's just. That's all I'm saying. I was like, let's not get carried away here. Like, I've continued to have conversations about.
Dan Patrick
Pittsburgh playoff team two of the last three years.
Mila Kunis
Okay. And they'll probably make a run for the playoffs this year.
Dan Patrick
I don't think it's happening.
Mila Kunis
I don't think their team. I don't think their team is far off from being a playoff team. I think whatever it was their trajectory was last year, it's really no different this year. What's the difference. What is the major difference of this year's Miami team going into the season versus last year's?
Dan Patrick
Less talented. A year older.
Mila Kunis
A year older. I'll give you less talented. Not necessarily. Not necessarily. And if that's the case, if that's the case, again, does that signify a rebuild getting less talented? What is that less talented based off of? You lost, John. Who? Is that what we're basing this off of? He was not. That. He was not. That's a good one. That's a good one. All I know, this is what I know. If, if rebuilding means you're digressing, you're, you're regressing and, and potential and, and accomplishment, why does that have to be considered a rebuild? Maybe it's just a bad decision. Maybe you, maybe it was a good decision that we didn't understand the reasoning why the decision was made. That's what I'm hoping it is for the Steelers. Again, I continue to bring the Steelers up. The relevance of talking about the Steelers is that they are relevant. They are a team that you look at and say they're a possibility to, to contend for the AFC North. They are a possibility to be able to possibly do something in the playoffs. So every single decision in, in that organization, in that market, it matters. But the Miami Dolphins. I'm sorry, for better or for worse, if you're a Dolphins fan, I, I, I mean, I, I'm just doing my job. But I got to tell you, the truth is, y' all haven't made anybody care. This is really a conversation of formatics on July 4, when most people are off and, and we're filling time, y' all aren't relevant like that because y' all haven't won. The relevance of the Miami Dolphins is the weather. The, the idea of being down in south beach, which, by the way, it ain't even in South Beach. Miami isn't even in south beach. And, and the team now went undefeated. You know, we're still talking about. The biggest relevance of, of the Dolphins is Don Shula and Larry Zonka and, and Mark Duper and those guys, because even Dan messed it up.
Dan Patrick
Damn.
Mila Kunis
Even Dan couldn't get them back to the Super Bowl. It.
Dan Patrick
To your point, though, when we were down there for the Orange bowl, the Penn State, Notre Dame game, I don't know, it just felt a little lacking. As far as the, the optimism and you know, the feeling and vibe for the Dolphins down there.
Mila Kunis
Just felt, felt like it was, it's the Miami Hurricanes football team and everything else. Then I guess the, the Miami Heat come in a very close second. Their baseball team, you know, was it the Marlins? They do pretty good here and there's.
Dan Patrick
No God, they're terrible Marlins, they've done.
Mila Kunis
Good here and there, but every time.
Dan Patrick
They win a World Series, they just trade everybody away.
Mila Kunis
Well, at least they've done something here and there. But, but the Dolphins, the Dolphins are like the doormat of, of Miami Athletics. Oh, make sure you wipe your feet off and take your shoes off when you get inside. That's the Dolphins. Sheesh. Until they, until they prove otherwise. That's, that's, that's their resume. Their resume. You can't get from, from under what your resume is. They, they've given nobody any reason to think anything different.

Mila Kunis
God bless America.
Dan Patrick
But he was previewing America 250 next.
Mila Kunis
Year and saying that every one of our national park battlefields and historic sites.
Dan Patrick
Are going to have special events in.
Mila Kunis
Honor of America 250. We're going to have a UFC fight. Think of this on the grounds of the White House. Did you understand what he just said? I didn't clearly understand. It was like so many.
Dan Patrick
To celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. Okay, they're going to have a UFC fight at the White House.
Mila Kunis
Okay. Perfect.
Dan Patrick
That's sweet.
Mila Kunis
I mean, why. What took so long to come up with ideas like that? I mean, why not utilize the, the grounds a little more than what. What you have? Why not take the play in. Why not take the in season tournament and play it outside in the yard of the, the White House? Anything that would make the damn thing more interesting. I mean, why not?
Dan Patrick
You're getting dominated today, by the way. I've got rocket launch.
Mila Kunis
Oh, yeah, yeah, you have.
Dan Patrick
Well, you got.
Mila Kunis
And, and rightfully so, by the way. You get no pushback from me on that.
Dan Patrick
I mean, obviously not a well attended event. The UFC event of the White House. I would imagine security would make things a little bit different.
Mila Kunis
Well, it would be. Get in there. Well, I don't think it would be for the fans. It would be. I mean, it is for the fans, but it would be, I would assume, invite only. Right. This would be an exclusive event. Any event that takes place in that, in that place would be. And it's like, like Sierra getting the pitch from her husband and, and running the football through the, the, the lay down. You know, stuff like that was an exclusive event. You had to be exclusive to see that.
Dan Patrick
You remember when they did Fox had the Field of Dreams game at the old Field of Dreams field in Iowa? Oh, yeah. I think you could only get 8,000 people there. I think so.
Mila Kunis
That's not for the amount of people.
Dan Patrick
But that event was for the television.
Mila Kunis
And you get the streaming.
Dan Patrick
So they're probably going to do massive numbers streaming of people streaming that and wanting to watch that. So that's probably a good move.
Mila Kunis
Iowa.
Dan Patrick
Sam will probably attend that one too. What? The Field of Dreams game.
Mila Kunis
That will. Field of Dreams and the, the UFC fight at the Rose Gardens.
Dan Patrick
I'm sure he will.
Mila Kunis
I mean, imagine if they did a professional game of hide and seek inside of the White House and they, and they. Epic. And they showed it. I would watch it. I don't know why, but I would. It would be more interesting than some of these things, these other sports out here. I'm just saying.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Mila Kunis
Hide and seek.
Dan Patrick
Hide and see.
Mila Kunis
Especially if you see bottoms just laying randomly around after somebody's been sopped.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Lee, do we have an update on whose panties those are out in the courtyard?
Mila Kunis
Yeah, I'll do a forensic test right now. Oh, gosh. They'll do that.
Dan Patrick
So Lee's on it, everybody.
Mila Kunis
There's people that don't have homes around here. Could be bad.

The Dan Patrick Show
Episode: Hour 1 - 4th of July, Browns QB Room & AFC Rebuild
Release Date: July 4, 2025
Host: Dan Patrick
Guest/Co-Host: Mila Kunis
The episode kicks off with Dan Patrick and Mila Kunis delving into the heated quarterback competition within the Cleveland Browns organization. They discuss recent reports and analyses surrounding the potential starters for the upcoming NFL season.
Kenny Pickett vs. Joe Flacco: Dan references an article by Mary Kay Cabot from Cleveland.com, highlighting Kenny Pickett's mobility as a key advantage. Cabot emphasizes that Pickett's ability to run adds unpredictability to Coach Kevin Stefanski's offensive schemes (07:00).
Mila Kunis counters, “Joe Flacco, at 40, brings a wealth of experience and a Super Bowl ring to the table. His proven track record could provide the stability the Browns desperately need” (09:08).
Notable Quote: Dan Patrick remarks, “Everything should be on the table in Cleveland,” underscoring the uncertainty and the open-ended nature of the QB selection process (08:33).
The hosts break down the strengths and weaknesses of the primary quarterback contenders:
Joe Flacco: At 40 years old, Flacco offers experience and a history of postseason success. Mila points out, “He’s a guy over 40 that’s going into what could perceivably be his last year of football and he has one Super Bowl championship” (09:08).
Kenny Pickett: A younger quarterback with mobility, Pickett's potential to inject creativity into the offense is discussed. Dan emphasizes, “Pickett’s mobility allows the Browns to be creative and unpredictable in Stefanski's offense” (07:00).
Rookies Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders: The conversation shifts to the less experienced quarterbacks, with Dan expressing skepticism about their readiness to lead the team immediately. He states, “Going from the fifth round to starter... it is a tremendous climb” (11:30).
Notable Quote: Mila Kunis shares her doubt about relying on rookies in high-stakes situations, saying, “The real measurement here is it's very difficult to see if a rookie that's never played is ready” (09:27).
The discussion broadens to the wider AFC landscape, contemplating how the Browns' quarterback situation fits into the conference's overall competitiveness.
Dan asserts, “If I'm Stefanski, I've got to take a look at everything to figure out the best path to try and keep my gig,” suggesting that the QB decision is pivotal for the Browns' future (14:00).
Notable Quote: Mila reflects on the importance of proven talent, “There are only two guys that have those types of reps under their belts,” referring to Flacco and Pickett, highlighting their edge over rookies (09:27).
Shifting focus, Dan and Mila analyze the Miami Dolphins' recent moves, questioning whether the team is signaling a full-scale rebuild.
Key Points:
Notable Quote: Dan summarizes Breer's perspective, “Where they are right now, Toronto, Armstead retires, Ramsay's traded... I think they are acknowledging that they need to build differently” (35:01).
Mila Kunis counters the notion of a rebuild, pointing out the presence of young talents like Jaylen Waddle and Chop Robinson, arguing that the team isn’t necessarily regressing but making calculated moves (35:39).
Throughout the episode, Dan and Mila engage in playful banter, discussing topics like people-watching in grocery stores and humorous takes on team dynamics.
Notable Exchange:
This segment adds a lighthearted touch to the episode, balancing the in-depth sports analysis with relatable humor.
As the episode wraps up, Dan hints at upcoming segments, including stories from around the world of sports and unique features like a hot dog eating contest. He encourages listeners to catch future episodes and stay tuned for more engaging content.
Notable Quote: Dan concludes, “Find out who we're talking about right here on FSR,” inviting listeners to stay engaged for deeper dives into NFL team strategies (21:06).
Uncertainty in QB Selection: The Browns face a complex decision in selecting their starting quarterback, balancing experience and proven success with youthful potential and mobility.
Strategic Implications for AFC: The QB decision not only impacts the Browns but also has broader implications for the AFC's competitive landscape.
Dolphins' Strategic Moves: Miami Dolphins' recent acquisitions suggest a nuanced strategy that may hint at rebuilding, but the presence of young talents complicates this narrative.
Host Dynamics: Dan Patrick and Mila Kunis provide a blend of expert analysis and personable conversation, making complex sports topics accessible and engaging for listeners.
This episode offers a comprehensive look into the current state of quarterback competitions within the Browns, the strategic directions of AFC teams, and insightful debates on team rebuilding strategies. Dan Patrick and Mila Kunis effectively balance detailed sports analysis with relatable dialogue, making the episode both informative and entertaining for fans and casual listeners alike.
