Charles Barkley will join us a little later on Mike Florio from NBC Sports Football Night in America on the fervor that continues with Bill Belichick. We're into day three, the hall of Fame issuing a statement on voting policy. We'll have that for you coming up. 877-3-DP show operator Tyler doing nothing but sitting by ready to take your phone calls. We say good morning, NBC Sports Network. And also Peacock, our streaming partner. And we'll come up with a play of the day poll question, stat of the day, all of that forthcoming. Well, let me start with the Belichick situation. Nothing has changed. Going to change except for the hall of Fame issued a press release, a statement on media reports related to hall of fame's class of 2026. This is what it says on their official stationary. Pro Football hall of Fame understands and respects the passionate reaction of many fans, media members and enshrinement of the hall itself. In light of published reports regarding the voting results for the class of 2026. This is a reminder from the hall because the hall goes on to say each year the hall reviews the selection process and the composition of the 50 person selection committee. If it's determined that any member or members violated the selection process bylaws, they understand action will be taken. That includes the possibility of such selectors. They would not remain a member of the committee moving forward. The selection of a new class is the most important duty the hall of Fame oversees each year and the integrity of that process cannot be in question. So why did the hall of Fame put this out? Is that just for public, you know, the public consumption of. Okay, all right. There's integrity to this process, reminding the voters there's integrity to this pro process. Let's not give information. Who leaked the Bill Belichick information? Like how'd that get out? Because to me it seems simple. If Bill Belichick was told last Friday he's not going to be in the hall of Fame, Bill probably told a couple of his friends who probably then told a couple of their friends and that eventually that news gets out. That would be the logic that I would apply to this, that Bill, you know, reportedly was quoted as saying he was disappointed. Now, Seth Wickersham has written books about the Patriots, probably has a connection, contact with Bill. Now, once again, this is just applying logic to this Don Van Natta, very good NFL reporter. And, you know, it doesn't take long to find somebody who finds somebody who knows the information and who has spoken to Bill Belichick. Now, you do have some writers, columnists who are coming out and saying, hey, I didn't vote for Bill Belichick. Now, if I'm the Hall of Fame, I don't want to hear this now. Nothing's been made official yet. They're supposed to be waiting. So now you're telling me I, for years, I would tell you who I voted for for the Heisman, the Hall of Fame or the, the Heisman folks said, hey, let's wait until the voting is over. And so I complied with that because they didn't want me to say, you know, who I did or didn't vote for. They didn't want to spoil, you know, the ceremony. And, and this isn't the same as the hall of Fame, but it is in one regard, and that is you have a vote. You're told not to, you know, reveal your votes, wait until the process, you know, goes to fruition. So, so I complied with that. But now you have a columnist in Kansas City, a USA Today columnist, who we're talking about if they did or didn't vote for Bill Belichick. Now, while I applaud you for telling me if you didn't vote for Bill, and that's why I'm okay with that. I mean, it's your vote. I'm okay. I might not like your logic, but it's your vote and I respect whatever you say. However you came to that conclusion, you're not voting for Bill Belichick. And as I told you, somebody who votes talked to me. That was Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. We talked twice. And there were people who just assumed Bill Belichick was going in and didn't speak up on his behalf. So there's a lot to factor in here. But the hall of Fame wants the voters to make sure that they don't reveal their votes until these people are informed. And look, the, and I mentioned this because the voter said to me, look, it's flawed with what we did. You narrow it down to five candidates. Now you ask the selection committee. Now we narrow it down to three. Well, you got to get 80%. Well, if you get to five, why don't we let five in? Or if you get to five, how about the. The top three vote getters get in and it has nothing to do with 80%. Like have something to show for this process. And I don't know if they're going to. All we know is Bill Belichick is not getting in. Tom Brady was on a Seattle radio station and he had this to say about the snub with his former coach. I don't understand it. I mean, I was with them every day. If he, if he's not a first power hall of Famer, there's really no coach that should ever be a first vote hall of Famer, which is completely ridiculous because people deserve it. And he's incredible. There's no coach I'd ever want to play, I'd rather play for. If I'm picking one coach to go out there to win a Super bowl, give me one season, I'm taking Bill Belichick. So that's enough said. There's nothing outside of that. You know, again, when it comes down to votes and popularity and all that, like, you know, then welcome to the world of voting and you may as well go, you know, try out for the Oscars or whatever and, you know, get a big panel to tell you if you're good or not. That's Tom Brady on Seattle sports 7 10. And this logic, I don't like this logic. Well, Bill's going to get in. I want to get these other people in. If you're going to tell me that Ken Anderson's getting in and LC Greenwood, they're getting in and Roger Craig's getting in. Great. Then we accomplish something here. Now it's at the expense of Bill Belichick, but you can't kind of brush off Belichick where then you have a candidate like Eli Manning. And Eli reportedly is not going to be in the hall of Fame again this year. But the reason why Eli is going to get into the hall of Fame, he beat Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. So you beat the best quarterback, the best coach, but the best coach is not getting in on the first ballot. It's just tricky. But there's so much attached to this because if I said, who got into the hall of Fame last year, We move on, right? I don't know if we go, oh, of course. Such and such and such. And we move on. And we'll move on after this to the next class the guys who will get in, if it's Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, who else is getting in? But this is tricky because Belichick doesn't get in. And if he got in now, those other coaches who are waiting to go into the hall of Fame now, they got to wait another year at least. And. And, you know, that's where I hate seeing that. This is supposed to be a celebratory moment for the NFL and it's a misstep, but the voters voted. I don't like the process of it. You have every right. If you don't want to vote Bill Belichick, you think he's a cheater, and he's gonna. I'm gonna get, you know, my pound of flesh here, okay? If you tell me that there should be transparency with this, just tell me you did or you didn't. I don't like the witch hunt, but there are people who. And I. I want to apologize to Bill Polian because he wasn't sure if he voted for Bill Belichick, which sounded a little suspicious coming from a former Colts front office member and a Hall of Famer. I don't know how you forget who you voted for. There's only five candidates there. That was a while ago, to be fair. Yeah, well. And if he voted for Bill, then I apologize because I thought he would be one of the 11 in there, because these grudges, they don't die. But it's day three. I thought Belichick's had a pretty good week, all things considered. He's kind of unified everybody, and all of a sudden he becomes a sympathetic figure. I told you that. You know, one of the voters told me there was a sense, is Bill going to come back and coach again? Can we vote somebody in who's coming back to coach again? I mean, you can't. You. You just can't view it that way, man. I. He might come back. He's not coming back to the NFL. Okay? And then I don't know if it was by coincidence or not, but then there was an article talking about, Bill's not going to be able to get back into the NFL. He's too toxic. So it just comes out now that he's too toxic. This should have nothing to do with North Carolina. This should have nothing to do with his girlfriend. This should have nothing to do with his record at North Carolina. This is about Belichick and what he did. I want to know if somebody says, you know, I just didn't like him. He was mean to me. If that's your reason? Then tell me. Tell us now. Nobody's going to say that, man. He hurt my feelings, man. If that's the case, I got my feelings hurt a few times by some, by Bob Knight and Don Shula and Bill Parcells and Pat Riley. They're still hall of Famers to me. Yes, Marvin. Bill Belichick should get in the hall of Fame. He's the coach. He's 1 and 1 as the Browns head coach in the playoffs. He's got a. That should get you in, period. Yeah. 500 record, huh? Okay. Thank you, Marvin. Yes, Todd. It's hard to quantify, but what is the exact level of backlash that would cause the hall of Fame to have to put out a statement or writers to have to explain their point, yes or no? Like, what is the. I'd love to know behind closed doors, what was the moment who or what happened where we got to put out a statement or I gotta let people know and write a column that I did or didn't pick Bella Jack, and why. It just happened. That's why they had to put out a statement. But somebody leaked specific conversations. But you know, why? Why did the hall of Fame. What made them decide we gotta put out press release? Because Bill Belichick didn't get in on the first ballot. And now they're, you know, people behind the scenes talking about this. This got revealed. This got leaked. Now all of a sudden, people are writing columns. Now all of a sudden, you know, who did and didn't vote for Belichick. So this doesn't happen with the hall of Fame. When's the last time you went, man, there's a leak in the hall of Fame, but you have one now. And the Pro Football hall of Fame wants to stop this because, hey, the integrity of the hall of Fame and really, you got to look at the families involved in it. There's so many people. It's not just one person. It's a family. It's teammates, front office. I mean, so many people can be attached to one candidate. And that's where you have to be fair to everybody here. Yeah, Paulie, When I saw the press release by the hall of Fame, it made me wonder if this story is not over. And that was the hall of Fame saying, we're onto something here. And this is step one of the cleanup. I have a text into somebody I trust with the hall of Fame, and I'm trying to find out. I know that. I know the system is flawed the last two years, and they were going to change it before this year, from what I'm told, more than likely it's going to change. Now, I don't know what that means because I was told that Wednesday morning. Is it going to change where we get five candidates? Is there going to be one coaching candidate? And then there's going to be a contributor and then there's going to be three players? How about we just have five people go in that, you know, a coach is going to go in, you're going to have your contributor, and then you're going to have three players who retired a long, long time ago. That's how it should be. Celebrate this. And they're not going to. That's the sad part of it. Yes. There's something that really cracks me up about the NFL, that it. Is there any sport that is more unsure of what it's doing day to day than the. I mean, the voting process in the hall of Fame keeps changing because you can't figure out, we got this backlog, so now we only let in five people, then we got to vote this way. No, we got to change it to do that way. That's just to figure out who they're honoring in the hall of Fame. That's not even getting into what is a catch and why can you do this, but you can't do that. This year we're focusing on holding. Next year we're going to focus on pass interference and they still prosper and they do. Is that this, like, odd chaos, sort of part of the success where you never really know what it's going to be that year? What would we be talking about this week? Probably the matchup here. Maybe LeBron going back to Cleveland for the final time, Giannis being traded. The NFL is in the news. That's why when, you know, we were talking about college football and what's going on, Big Ten, sec, college football. Love that they got attention. We were talking about college football instead of them being buried with, you know, the NFL playoffs. I don't know if the NFL now, you know, we've talked about this before. Any publicity is good publicity. I've never subscribed to that. This is not a good week, I think, for the NFL. But you're talking about the process. You're bringing back candidates. Nobody's talking about LC Greenwood or Kenny Anderson or Roger Craig if you don't have this. But because of this now, all of a sudden somebody goes, was Kenny Anderson Good? Who's L.C. greenwood? Well, that's funny because nobody really is talking about them. They're Just talking about Bill Belichick and, like, why. Who did they let in instead of built? These guys. Yeah. What they let these guys in for? I'm trying to fight the good fight for Kenny Anderson to get in or Elsie Greenwood or Roger Craig. Yeah. Paulie. I don't know if the hall of Fame and the NFL had the worst week. I think the NFL media and the people that the NFL media had the rough week. They think it's a bunch of old guy reporters that are upset with Bill Belichick, with how they treated them. That's how the casual person thinks. Once again, if you say, I didn't vote for him because he's a cheater. Okay, is Tom Brady a cheater? And are you going to hold him to the same standard? And what about Robert Kraft? And if not, then why? As long as you have logic behind this, this is your vote. Great. I. I'm not voting for Kraft. I'm not voting for Brady and not voting for Belichick. I think they cheated. If that's how you feel and you're transparent, I got no argument with. It's your opinion, it's your vote. It's not. Hey, you got to agree with everybody else. Yeah. Marvin, is this going away before we go to San Francisco? No, because all the media will be in San Francisco, and then we're going to bring up Seattle against New England and Malcolm Butler in the rematch and. No, it's not going to go away. Yes. Well, that's one of the things that. I think the reason that it won't go away is because there isn't necessarily a match. Massive hook to this Super Bowl. They're. The rematch is cool, but nobody that was there in that first game is still here in this one, so it's not really a rematch. Let's. I'll take a break. I'm going to talk about the storylines. Sam Darnold's going to join us on the program tomorrow, but. And he's the first USC quarterback to play in the Super Bowl. How about that? Crazy. Really? Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. Paul Sanchez. Two AFC title games. Close. Yeah. Yeah. Carson Palmer. Nope. Never got there. No. That's a shame. No, no, no. They should have. How about we take a break? We'll get phone calls, settle on our poll question. David Booty. That's booty. Wow. I was gonna say Mitch Mustaine, but go ahead. Oh, yeah. Barkley A little bit later on. And Mike Floria will have more on the Pro Football hall of Fame. We may not want to hear what they have to say. Yeah, I'd appreciate the clarity. Oh you would? Transparency. Okay. All right. Might be a lot of people who have a lot of opinions why they didn't vote for us. Yes, Todd, what if they singled one of us out and the overwhelming reason was because of a particular Danette? And for me, and if there was one change then you probably would have won multiple sports every yeah, yeah, I'd rather not know. It's okay. Yeah, I'd rather have the mystery of why they didn't vote for us. I look at it this way, it's not that they didn't vote for us. They voted for other people who may have had better years and that's fine. I'm okay with that. Yes, Paul, they didn't vote for us on the first ballot, second ballot, third ballot, fourth ballot, and so on. I mentioned Sam Darnold on the program tomorrow and he will be the first USC quarterback to play in a super Bowl. A couple of people tweeted Pat Hayden would have been the starter in Super Bowl 14 instead of Vince Ferragamo. But Pat Hayden got injured in the regular season, so he couldn't be the first USC quarterback to play in a Super Bowl. All right, well, thank you. He fractured a finger in week 10. You did give me the specifics of Pat. Okay. When I'm reading. Okay. And that's why Ferragamo had to come in, starting in the middle of the season there. All right, thank you. Todd Seaton, what's poll question today? I mean, I think if Carson Palmer didn't get hurt, he might have made it too, but didn't really work out that way, I guess. Gotta have a poll question. Didn't really work out. So. Yes, that means. No, no, no. Do you have a poll question today? Yeah, you know, I'm trying to go off of the hall of Fame again. We have a couple of. Of questions here. Eli Manning, first ballot hall of Famer. Yes or no? Oh, he can't be right. Second ballot, second ballot hall of Famer. Yeah, sorry. Yeah, I think he eventually gets in. He's not a first ballot hall of Famer. Is he a Hall of Famer? He's. He's going to be. Do I think he's hall of Fame quarterback? I do not keep in mind, in one of those super bowl years, I think they lost like 6 of 7, 6 of 8, and he was going to be benched. There was a year that they. I think it was the year the, the almost perfect season for the Patriots. Tom Coughlin was going to be fired that year and Eli Manning was supposed to be benched about halfway through the season. And that's one of the. That's one of the seasons that's going to get him in the hall of Fame. And part of his resume is attached to, hey, he beat Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Yeah. Pulling. Eli Manning had two unbelievable months in his career. 2000. No offense. I'm a fan. He was four and oh. In the playoffs in 2007. Six touchdowns, one pick. 2011, nine touchdowns, one pick. He never won a playoff game before. Before or after those two runs. Yeah, yeah, I don't think he is, but he's going to get in. And a large part has to do with he beat like he beat Belichick. He beat Tom Brady. It's not like. And he beat Mike Holmgren, you know, but he beat Belichick and Brady and you know the cachet that comes along with that. And you know Your brother is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time as well. You can't leave that out. Dispute that. Yeah, Paulie. Eli Manning made about three Pro Bowls. He actually made it. Like he wasn't, you know, alternate. Fifth alternate. Yeah. He never led the league in touchdown passes. Thrice times led the league in interceptions. If you compare his regular season to someone like Russell Wilson's regular season, it's not even close. Like, Russell's is way better, but Russell is. Eli didn't stick around at the end to play his way out of anything. Yeah, well, if Russ wins the other super bowl, then it's not even, you know, like, he went to the Pro Bowl 10 times. Eli Front loaded, playing his way out of it. He didn't do it at the end. No offense. Just joking. That would be Seaton. Who said that. Seaton said that, not me. Eli front loaded it with all those years that he wasn't very good. And then. Yes, Marvin, do we put too much emphasis on the hall of Fame or the super bowl when it comes to getting into the hall of Fame? Like that one pass from Russell Wilson and Malcolm Butler changes whether or not Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman and those guys get into the hall of Fame or not. If David Tyree doesn't come up with that catch, I don't think Eli's getting into the hall of Fame with one Super Bowl. I don't think so. Yes, at that position, we attach a lot more emphasis. We do. If Dan Marino had three Super Bowls, if he won three, he would be probably the second greatest quarterback of all time. But he went to one and he lost to Montana. Yes, we do attach a whole lot more emphasis to that, but it's the most important position in all the sports and even coaches, you know, if you're Tom Flores and you're winning a couple of Super Bowls, go into the hall of Fame. You know, with coaches, it's tricky, too. I mean, we talked about Don Coriel, Air Coriel, and what he did for those great Charger teams, but he wasn't successful in the postseason. I think he won, what, 110 games in his career, you know, but it. But he created something. He created Air Coryell. A system. Yeah, Paulie. And that's probably why there's not a bunch of anger today and yesterday around Eli, because, like you said, he's going to get in. He's likable, media friendly, and he'll have his day. So no one's going to, you know, go crazy this morning, but are we asking for accountability with. Well, why aren't you voting for Eli? You should. Like we're doing. Yes, you should go scorched her. I want to know why. I'm sick of this. Yeah. We're moving on from Bill. Yeah. I don't care why you didn't vote for Belichick. Tell me why you didn't vote for Eli. Yes. Marvin. No. If Drew Brees doesn't get in, we'll be asking for accountability. Yeah, he's going to get in. Drew Brees will get in. Larry Fitzgerald will get in. Yes. Here's a new poll question for you, if you want. Okay. The biggest storyline heading into this. The big game. Okay. A rematch of the big game. 49. Sam Darnold's redemption. The Patriots turnaround. Other. Neither. Neither. What is the main storyline heading into this game? Well, I don't want to read or hear that. Oh, it's a rematch. Redemption for Seattle against New England. Nobody who's playing in this super bowl was involved in that Super Bowl. I don't think Josh McDaniels maybe, but Cam Chancellor's not playing. Sherman. Richard Sherman's not playing. Malcolm Butler is not playing, but we tend to do that. Man. A rematch here. Well, no one's around. Yeah. Paulie. This super bowl feels like a big movie without stars. Sam Darnold, not a household name, but a great story. There's also two underdogs in this game. You're not supposed to have two underdogs. The team that won four games last year, and then Sam Darnold, the career underdog. And if you look at the last 10 years, every super bowl had a household name. Mahomes, Manning, et cetera, et cetera. Brady. They all had household names. Well, there was that long stretch where you either had, what, Mahomes or Brady playing in a Super bowl. That's star power. You don't have that. But. And I'll talk to Sam Darnold about that tomorrow of. You know, everybody wants to hear that he, you know, kept receipts and he is journeying. And if I'm Sam, I don't. I don't care what happened before. I mean, I'm. I got to live in today. And I don't think Sam Darnold plays with a chip on his shoulder. He's pretty even keel, but, you know, does he want to shut up everybody? I mean, this. This removes the bust label forever. If he would win this super bowl, you know, place more emphasis on the Jets. Mike Vrabel, kick to the Curb by Tennessee. I mean, these. These are storylines. And you know, this is what NBC is going to do. You're going to have to have all you're filling eight hours pregame. What are the storylines you're going to tell? You know, Mike Vrabel, former Patriot, great Tennessee coach, and here he is going to the super bowl with Drake May. Drake May. You know, the other quarterbacks who were taken before him. Oh, you can't get a quarterback from North Carolina is going to be good and then all of a sudden he's good. Oh, by the way, remember I said yesterday if the Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl, Drake maybe is going to have to do it with his legs. I really believe so. I didn't know what the over under was. And I think Dylan, our resident gambler said you're over under rushing. Okay, who wants to guess over under rushing total for Drake May? Todd, I'll start with you. 26 and a half yards. Marvin. 68 and a half yards. Satan. I mean, I guess probably something like 59. Paulie, 38 and a half. 40 and a half. Wow. 40 and a half. There's yards to get. He's gonna have to get him. Yes, Todd. By the way, the back room guys have been studying tape on sim daughter. No chip has been found in his shoulder. They rewind. They went through every week of the season and the playoff. I think they found a chip in Bo Nix's ankle, by the way. Don't get me started. Can of worms. Okay. Oh, brother. Man, this is, this is wild. You had exit interview with Sean Payton and he talked about Bo Nix's ankle and then it was kind of a pre existing injury. Marvin, do you have it? Okay. Is there any concern that Bo has had several ankle surgeries and what, what was found though? What was a condition that was like predisposed right at that where they always find a little bit more when they go in and it wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when. So because when you look at the play, you're trying to evaluate it. He said the doctor operating surgeon said that though this was, this was going to happen sooner than later. Why are you revealing this? Because as it turned out yesterday, Bo Nix was not happy with his head coach. Didn't have any predisposed issues. Man, my ankles were feeling really good. I don't think he really should share how many surgeries I've had in the past, to be honest with you. But because I don't, you know, he doesn't really even know that. So that's Bo Nix. Bo Nix doesn't sound happy. Already a pretty tough week for him. But I mean that, that's pretty direct to your head coach, basically. What, like, what are you doing? Who does this help? Yes, Todd. So we lose the AFC title game at home. So this is where things are right now. After this wonderful season and a couple of miscues and bad decisions, we would be in the super bowl right now. And now we got to worry about the relationship between quarterback and coach going into next year or how healthy is that ankle going to be, moving on? And how many surgeries have you had? And this doctor telling, like, is the doctor allowed to tell Sean Payton this? I guess the team doctor can tell the coach, I don't know what laws or rules. What is protocol? Yeah, Satan. What is just like out of like genuine curiosity, what is the problem with saying what Sean Payton said? Well, this might affect Bo Nix getting a long term contract. We might look at this and say that he is injury. You know, go back to Steph Curry. When Steph Curry had his ankle issues, they thought, you know what? He's going to be a role player. That they didn't know if he could stay healthy or not. But still that's. That's Bo Nix's information. That's not Sean Payton's information. I think you got to be fair to Bo Nix and I don't think Sean Payton was because he's saying they went in there and then found that, oh, this was probably going to happen sooner or later. But Bo Nix should be able to tell that story, not Sean Payton, in my opinion. Yeah, Paulie, if you go back to 20, 21, it was reported and everyone knew about it. While at Auburn, Bo Nix injured his ankle against Mississippi State. It ended his junior season and he did have an ankle surgery. That was five years ago. I think you're completely right. This is a guy who's not gotten his big payday yet, but he and his agent don't love this storyline. All right, we'll take a break. Yeah. Paulie says this is a movie that's coming up without stars in Super Bowl 60. Yes. So if moving forward with Bo Nix's contract situation, he had ankle surgery when he was in college and he had ankle surgery now. But they said this was going to happen. It wasn't and it did. If, but did. But it's still Beau Nix's information. I don't think that should be on Sean to be telling people. I just thought that that, that would. I don't think he's had a good week. No, he's not had a good week. No. He's had worse moments, though, this week. Yeah. I was also wondering if in some way he was. He's the only one who had a worse week than Belichick, I think. Yes. Todd. I was wondering if Coach Payton was somehow protecting himself a little bit. As I was watching the Bills game, there was a number of designed runs. I felt like early on they were running him too much. He wasn't running because he was trying to get away from a sack. He was running in plays that they called. And what, did he run him one too many times and he got hurt. And now he's kind of protecting that decision a little bit that he, you know, instigated an injury or something. He feels guilty about it. I don't know. Now you're tired, Coach. Did you call him, Coach Peyton? I did, yeah. You did. We're not that close. I can call him Sean just yet. Yeah. All right, take a break. And then Jaylon Thompson, Jalen Jaylon Tyson, makes his way over to the interview. Okay. Obviously, there's a different energy in this building when the James family's here. We saw how the fans reacted to Bronny, and certainly this could be potentially LeBron's last game in this building. How would you characterize his impact on this city and franchise? Well, you could say something. This is Donovan Mitchell city now. It's Donovan Mitchell city now. When he come back. Here we go. Make sure that everybody root for him like they did for him. So this is stuff. This is city. Yes, sir. Jalen Donovan, do you have any thoughts on both? As much as I appreciate that, you know, at the end of the day, he's laid the foundation. Right. You know, obviously you want to replicate that. Okay. It's Jalen jaylon Tyson, who's 23 years of age. You know, maybe he's not old enough to remember what LeBron meant to the city of Cleveland. And then Jalen Tyson, the Cavs guard, later apologized for his comments right after the game. There was no disrespect there. I didn't want to disrespect or step on nobody's toes. Like, that's what. That's one of the greatest players ever played a game. Obviously, I was a Cavs fan growing up because of him. Right. I didn't want to take away him, but I just wanted to get Don his flowers. That was my biggest goal in it. And if I offended anybody or anybody got mad about it, I'm sorry. I take personal responsibility, but I just want to give the man his flowers because we want to do the same thing that Brian and them did here. We want to do that with him as our. As our leader. Back, back, back, back, back, back. All right, I'm. You're gonna stick up for your guy. It was just awkward the way you were sticking up for him to say it's, you know, Donovan Mitchell's city. It's not still LeBron's. And even Charles Barkley and Shaq and company, they were chopping it up last night of if LeBron leaves the Lakers, going back to Cleveland would probably be that final year. You know, you'd bookend your career. So they were talking about it, and, you know, everybody showed up from the LeBron James's family. It was a big night. But going in as a Laker Maybe the next time he'll be a Cleveland Cavalier. Yeah. Pauline. Jalen Tyson, 23 years old, born December 2, 2002. On that date, LeBron James was making his debut of his last year of high school. It was his first game of his last year of high school. Couple of phone calls in here. Chris in Syracuse leads us off. Hi. Chris Barkley will join us later on final hour of the show. Hi, Chris. Hey, thanks, Dan. Hey, I have a comment. And a quick stroll down Dan Patrick show memory lane. He recent prop betting scandals has brought into question the integrity of games. So cheating has kind of been a hot topic. So I think the timing of Belichick's candidacy may have worked against him a little. And yesterday, Hudson called in again. He reminds me of Jake in LA from many years ago. And, Dan, remember when you called Jake out on a take that he had, and his response to you was, I'm just giving my opinion, like I'm supposed to. Poor little guy. It still haunts me what I did to Jake in la. It's like, jake, you're better than this. I'm just trying to give my opinion. And then you run into Jake. Now he's like 24, 25 years of age and graduated from Syracuse. In the sports world, is he working for the Pelicans? He is working with the Pelicans. My son was in some of his classes at Syracuse. Thank you. I think it's the CFO at this point. He's got a 5% stake at this point. Well, I saw Jake in LA at this. The super bowl in New Orleans, and he's about six, four, you know, handsome kid coming up. Mr. Patrick, how you doing? I go, hey. He goes, jake in la. And I said, the Oracle. Yes, Paulie. It's too bad we don't have the audio of that incident. Wait, wait, we do. I think the Celtics could really be the team to beat this year. I mean, they just look like a mess. Wait, wait, Jake, don't overreact like this. You're. You're better than that, right? I'm just giving my opinion like I'm supposed to. I know. I'm kidding. Oh, no, no, Jake, I'm kidding with you. I know you are. Okay. You know I love you, right? That was painful. It's still painful. God. Hey, Dan, you big bully. Like he's Stephen A. Smith. Yeah. You know you're better than that. Come on. You're better than that. The Colonel in Tampa. Hey, Colonel. Hey, Dan. Hey, guys. How we doing? So let's look at this Bill Belichick thing, You know, I guess I missed it. Is there a morals character clause in the induction, you know, bylaws of the hall of Fame? No. If there is, and character counts, Dan, character counts, then who are the voting members that are, you know, qualified to be the character moral? I don't think there is a moral compass that you have with your voting. It's your own moral compass. And whether they keep Michael Irvin out for a couple of years or they did that to Terrell Owens, they're doing that to Belichick. And you have your, it's your vote, it's your opinion. All I want is just tell me why you came to this conclusion, that's all. Clyde in North Carolina. Hi, Clyde. Hi, Dan. How are you? Great. Clyde, I've got a couple of comments and a question. My comments are I really appreciate your experience based advice you give to young parents and I think you're the best interviewer I have ever heard. Thank you, Clyde. And my question, I just heard you a few minutes ago say Bill Belichick would never coach again. I guess I thought the same, but after hearing Tom Brady's just glowing recommendation, do you think there would possibly be a chance since Tom Brady's on board with the Raiders that Belichick could be a Raiders coach one day? I mean, it feels like Tom would already have asked. Right? They still don't have a coach. I said after listening to the NFC title game as much, you know, Tom Brady was talking about Clint Kubiak an awful lot. And it feels like Clint Kubiak probably is going to be the Raiders next head coach. I mean, bill is turning 74. That's a young team. The Falcons passed on him. I thought that he was going to go to the Falcons and as soon as they turned him down, I said he will not coach in the NFL again. And I firmly believe that. Yes, Marv, they just fired an older coach. You think they're going to try to hire another one? Yeah, well, Belichick's younger than Pete Carroll, I believe, isn't he? By a like a month or so. Mike Florio will have more on the Belichick situation. Charles Barkley will stop by as well. One hour in the books on this Thursday with Fritzi Seaton, Marv Poly, yours truly, and the backroom guys.
