It did not go well. In fact, it was embarrassing. Here is just a portion of a column that was written by the Charlotte News and Observer sports columnist Luke De Kock. He starts out to say, forget the cutoff sleeves. The alleged football genius got pantsed in his college debut. North Carolina paid $10 million for Bill Belichick and got sold a bill of goods the students gave up before the third quarter was over, right after the defense. It's certainly possible that this could have been worse for Belichick and the Tar Heels, but that's an argument over a matter of degrees. Belichick and his brain Trust promised the 33rd NFL team and yes, this was certainly at the same level of what the Cleveland Browns annually perpetrate on their fans. Ouch. That's a local reaction. Bill got humbled. And if you're looking for a great way to start a college career, North Carolina had that first drive. Oh, man. Touchdown cutaway. Michael Jordan, all the luminaries, dignitaries. Oh, we got a beautiful night here for Carolina football. And they forgot that TCU also was going to play as well. And TCU was favored in that game. And I'm watching the pregame and I understand you want to feature Belichick. He's not interesting. He doesn't say anything interesting. The look of him is kind of interesting on the sidelines. But Reese Davis sat down and did an interview with him and Holly Rowe did an interview with him. He's meant to be looked at and watched the results, not listened to because there's very little that he's going to tell you. So you're watching. This is different than Dion. And Dion opened up with TCU as well. Dion is charismatic, he's interesting, flamboyant. But you're watching Bill. And they brought in 70 new players. Incredible. Incredible to have 70 new players and then try to get them all to be ready to go week one against a quality opponent. Yes, you're at home, but after a while, after the first five minutes, then all that wears off. Now you gotta play football. And they looked woefully unprepared, and TCU played really well. But you just don't expect that from Bill Belichick. You don't expect him to be out coached, as he said. Here is Belichick after North Carolina was blown out. You know, anytime you give up two turnovers or touchdowns offensively, that's not good. We gave up several long plays on defense, you know, where they gained a lot of yards on one play. So just. There's too many, too many of those. There wasn't any one thing. It was a combination of multiple things. Too many three and outs, too many long plays on defense. And then two turnovers. Well, we had three turnovers with two turnovers. Touchdowns. They can't overcome that. TCU had 542 total yards on offense. Second time in 468 NFL and college games. Bill Belichick, a Belichick coach team, has given up that many yards. Stat of the day brought to you by Panini America. A lot of games to go over. And you can look at this as parody because. Okay, let's start Week zero. Iowa State knocks off K State. That's In Ireland, you know, 1 is ranked 22, 1 is ranked 17, so that's not a big thing. Ohio State taking down Arch Manning. In Texas, you had LSU over Clemson. You know, these are mild upsets. Florida State stunning. Alabama. We'll talk a little bit more about that. Miami beating Notre Dame was not a surprise. So these things are going to happen this year. I don't know if you're going to have a great team. Keep in mind all the players. Ohio State lost to the NFL. You lose your quarterback. I mean, you lose your running back, and they're at home. Yes. And Texas came in with all the fanfare, number one, and you got Arch Manning, and it proved to be too much. Now, Texas could have won the game. I think people are reacting that, oh, man, Arch looked terrible and they got blown out. They could have won this game. And it's not like Ohio State was great. I thought the defense was great, but, you know, was it big for Arch Manning? Too big for Arch Manning? Yes, it certainly felt that way. But I got to get a let. Let's. You know, I caution people every year, don't overreact. So he went from Heisman to. He shouldn't be on the list. Texas, they're not great. Ohio State's great. Boy, Alabama's terrible. Florida State is back. Notre Dame, my. We don't overreact. It's fun, too. But you. You have to caution yourself with this because Arch will come back and probably have a really good game against an inferior opponent. And then we'll go, okay, Belichick, next game, I think, is it Charlotte, and you'll probably win that and we'll go, all right. Well, he kind of. All right. It's not going to be that bad. The Alabama result is the one that stands out over all of them because. And give credit to Florida State. Florida State was the better team and their defensive line was wonderful. Well, offensive line as well. But I go Back to Kaylin DeBoer, who felt like he was the hottest coach in America at Washington, and you can't turn down Alabama. Nick Saban didn't have to replace Nick Saban. Kaylin DeBore has to replace Nick Saban, and Nick Saban is omnipresent on the mothership. So it's not like he's. He's gone. You don't see him anymore. He's right there. And Kaylin DeBoer and Alabama, they. They got roughed up in more ways than one. And then you start to think about, you know, bigger picture here. You know, I think Belichick is probably done after one year anyway, maybe two years. But, you know, that might be that, you know, he still wants to go back to the NFL, which I. I think going to college and what's happened in college, I'm less likely to see him. In fact, when he left the Patriots or they fired him, I said, he won't coach in the NFL again. There's just too much there. But you got the Alabama situation, and immediately you start having people go, what's the buyout for Kaylin devore? That didn't take long. And that's where we overreact. Let's just wait and see how good this team is. But what we saw over the weekend, Florida State roughing them up. In 17 years at Alabama, Nick Saban lost four games to unranked opponents. That's the same number of losses to unranked opponents Kaylin DeBoer has in his first two seasons at Alabama. Oh, start of the day, start of the day, start of the day, start of the day. This is the start of the day. So against unranked opponents, Saban was 124 and 4. DeBore is 6 and 4. And all of a sudden you can look around and go, what's that buyout for Kalyn DeBoer? And I, you know, sometimes we look at players and I go, give me a larger sample size here. And I liken Zach Wilson going number two overall to Kaylin DeBoer going to Alabama. Like, wow, okay. And I don't want to overreact, but I didn't see promising results in week, in year one. And now you open up with Florida State. Now it's at Florida State. They obviously were terrible last year. Chip on their shoulder. We're a proud, proud team. And Alabama went in there, and Florida State did not care. They didn't care who you are, what you are. And that's what's surprising. When Saban left, Alabama was still good. Now he resigned abruptly. I think he was just done with all the transfer portal and nil and all of that. You know, it's terrible. It's remote in College Football. Kaylin DeBoer comes in after a successful year at Washington. Doesn't mean you're the right guy for that job. Doesn't mean he can't be a really good coach. But you can't pass up Alabama. I understand that, but that's the one that surprised me. And it wasn't a fluke. I mean, when Florida State went up big, I'm thinking, yeah, they're a far better team, and they certainly showed that. But Ohio State winning, I wasn't surprised in that atmosphere. I mean, Ohio State offensively didn't do much, but they did just enough. And that defense was wonderful. Miami as well, against Notre Dame, I was not surprised at that. Here's, here's a stat for you. The last time Texas, Notre Dame and Alabama all lost in the same week, 2017, Thanksgiving weekend, Texas lost to Texas Tech. Notre Dame lost to Stanford. Alabama lost to Auburn. And you know, there's no gimmes in the sec. It's not like Alabama can go well, you know, we have some easy games. When you get into the sec, they're not easy games. You know, Belichick in North Carolina, you're still in the acc, all right, you got a couple of games you got to worry about, but you can still maybe carve out eight wins here. That's, I think the over under is eight, eight and a half, something like that, which is what we thought they were probably going to be doing. But Belichick is always great at the next time around making adjustments. Now, if this was an NFL game, I would have thought, okay, Belichick's going to really adjust in the second half or the third quarter, maybe the fourth quarter, he's going to adjust. It's 70 new players. That's enormous. And I think that's the herculean task is to get 70 players in a short period of time to understand exactly what we're trying to do here. And they looked inept, they look unprepared. They were overmatched. And I did feel bad for LSU because I'm watching the game, you know, pre game, and I'm going to. Guys, acknowledge tcu. Acknowledge tcu. Do something. And Reese Davis sat down with Bill Belichick. Okay, and let's go to Holly Row with Bill Belichick. Do something on tcu. They're favored in this game. Hey, Michael Jordan's here. Do something. Lawrence Taylor's here. Mia Ham's here. Do something on tcu. Yes. There was this one shot where it was like, it was like Michael Jordan, Lawrence Taylor, and I forget who else was all sitting together. Williams and Roy Williams. That's right. Yeah, Roy Williams. And then they cut away to Randy Moss going crazy. It's like everybody was there. Yep. And I thought just was awesome. Just be fair with your coverage. Just, just to protect yourself. Everybody's picking North Carolina to win the game. Meanwhile, TCU was favored, I think, by three and a half. And that first drive and I Thought, wow, that's impressive. Then a three and out by tcu, and I go, wow. And then all of a sudden, I went, wow, North Carolina is bad. Yeah, Paul, but do you think it's way too much of an overreaction for a blowout? Like that column you read a couple minutes ago, they basically declared, the writer said, this is over. This experiment is a failure. Bill Belichick's first year in New England, he was 5 and 11. Then he won three of the next four Super Bowls. It seems like you should. People should have a little more faith in his expertise, more than an August football game. I would, except for recruiting is about personality, and Bill doesn't have a personality. Bill is, give me. Give me the groceries, and I'll make a meal better than anybody. He. That's what he does. Recruiting is about. You got to go talk to Jimmy Lipper and, you know. You know, Jimmy Scanjeel and Tommy Calamari, and you got to talk to all their parents and Glad Hand and boosters, and that's not what he's built for. And you bring in 70 new, new players. And I don't. I don't know if he's one of those guys that brings them together, you know, like, Dion brings them together. Bill's like, all right, well played, tcu. Let's go get him. This is different. And by the way, he did have Tom Brady. I mean, that helped in a really good defense when he got there. People don't care what your resume is like, none of these guys. Sonny Dykes at TCU's like, all right, that's Belichick. He's not playing. Everybody. That's what they kept saying, Belichick ain't playing, so don't worry about it. All right, let's see what he can do. And you saw that. But I thought TCU did a wonderful job kind of staying in the moment and not letting it become too big. Oh, Todd, you had the wrong credit because there's a Charlotte Observer. Luke De Kock works for the Raleigh News and Observers to make sure we had that right. That was something I had wrong. I thought it was strong, but it's the Raleigh paper, so we started out with an error. Yeah, Okay. A turnover. That's actually. Duke Lecoq writes for the Charlotte Observer. This is Luke De Kock. But unlike North Carolina, we will recover from this. We certainly will. Thank you. We already have. All right, so best and worst of the weekend. What you saw that you liked, you didn't like. We'll hear from Arch Manning coming up about his performance. Don't overreact. Too late. He's, I know. I, I'm watching and I go, oh, my gosh, this guy's going to get roughed up. Yes, Paul, I saw some graphic on the screen and in no context said, Arch Manning, 0 and 1 in his career. Peyton Manning won his first career start. And Art Eli Manning won his first career start. Peyton Manning was at home against East Carolina and Eli Manning was at home against Murray State. They weren't at the shoe in August. Yeah. Against the defending national champs. Yeah. Uphill. But you know, he, oh, he can't win the Heisman now. Okay. He lost on the road to the defending national champs. He can still win the Heisman. I said he wouldn't win the Heisman. Somebody in this room said he would cruise to the Heisman, but it's early. Let's just see. Let's just see how this all plays out. Instead of here's my reaction, here's my hot take. And now I move on from that. Texas is still a great team. I thought both coaches didn't do well in trying to take some chances. I thought Texas was going to take more chances with architecture. Now, Julian saying the Ohio State quarterback, I understand that now. Let's just. Easy, man. Hopefully our defense can win this game, keep us in this, make a couple of plays. I still thought we would have a little bit more firepower. That was a big surprise on both sides there. All right, just getting started. We'll get to your phone calls. Coming up. 877-3DP show. Hey sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro tell you how to manage your money again? Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem. A year from now when you do feel like you are blank leading from these high interest rates. I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan starting with your local credit union. Shopping around online looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets, I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt. When it weighs on you, it's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment free money advice, listen to Brown ambition on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. I watched a lot of, well, I watch a lot of strange football. It doesn't matter. I'll be like, you know, just kind of thumbing through and It'll be like, you know, Army's playing Tarleton State and losing. And I'll be like, I'll watch this for a little while. I did watch a lot of ucla, Utah, and is there a more underappreciated program than Utah? It feels like over the years, like the last 20 years. Feels like every year we'll go, man, Utah's pretty good. UCLA looked pretty bad. But the Utes, they're impressive. Yeah, Paulie, they've been in two Rose Bowls in the past five years. Yeah, it's a quality program. You're watching. You go, yeah, they're good. They're good again this year. Then you'll hear they're probably a top 10 team. They might not be now, but at the end of the year there'll be a top 10 team. We want to troubleshoot. We want to get ahead of this. And Paulie brought up a great point that a graphic says that, you know, Arch Manning, oh, and one. Peyton and Eli were one and oh in their college debuts. Peyton didn't start out by playing Florida on the road. He was at home against East Carolina. He threw one touchdown pass. Scrappies. Carolina. Yeah, the Pirates quality. Don't sleep on them. And then you had Eli opening up. Yes, Paul. Eli lit up Murray State. Your racers, Dan. 20 of 23, 271, five touchdowns for Eli. They were the Erasers. Yes. Air racers. Yeah. And then Arch had to just play Ohio State in Columbus. Defending national champs. Chris in Syracuse. Hi, Chris, how are you? Hey, thanks as always, Dan. Hey, I got a best and worst and a question for you. And right off the bat, if you guys get a chance, today's Wall Street Journal, there's a good article on the front page on Bristol, Connecticut. Overman's got some great lines in it. And also I'm sure on Thursday the Eagles are going to cream the cowboys something like 41 7. But I have the strongest view feeling Dallas beats Philadelphia Thursday. NBC, you heard it here first on the Dan Patrick Show. My best Brian Kelly getting a big win early in the season. It seems like he always blows games like that. So it's nice to see him not your W. And my worst in his press conference afterwards, twice he said how much he admired his players composure during the game. And that guy should work on his composure. Looks like his head's going to explode. And he's always berating, swearing, yelling at his players and man, you know, you've got recruits watching and their parents. It's just not a good look. And in the age of nil and the transfer portal. Public shaming may not be the way to go. And a question. Now, I know at Dallas home games this year, when they put Jerry's mug up on that big screen, they're going to boo him. Now, Micah did ask for a trade. He was acting pretty uninterested the last couple weeks in being a Cowboy when he was there, so it may tick off some fans. But on September 28, what kind of reception do you think Michael will receive from the Cowboy faithful? I have no idea. I have no idea. The mindset of Dallas Cowboy fans, certainly over the last 30 years, it felt like now Albert Breer, the Monday morning quarterback, is going to join us later on. He said that Michael Parsons had two different personalities. Now, this is during the negotiations when he was with his team. There's no cameras around. Jerry Jones wasn't around. He was great. Everything you want him to do, but he wasn't taking part in, you know, all the practice drills. He wasn't a full participant. When Jerry Jones and other people would show up, that's when he acted like he didn't care. Now, this is according to Albert Breer. I think that Micah Parsons was resigned to the fact that either he had to play his fifth year option or he was going to be traded. And, yeah, I was told there were six teams that presented offers to the Dallas Cowboys. It wasn't just Green Bay, but Jerry was so caught up and got to get a run stopper. All right, you got a run stopper, so now you can stop the run. Can you stop the pass? Because you don't have Micah Parsons to get to the quarterback. You know, pick your poison here. But, you know, we'll talk to Albert Brear a little bit more about this. And Michael Parsons, I guess, really has a back issue because he. It. It sounds like he's getting an epidural before the game on Thursday night or Sunday. How does this information get out that you're going to get an epidural? That's a real kick in the pants, too, by the way, that. That Micah's got a back issue. I guess he wasn't lying where he was sitting out saying, hey, I have a back issue now you're going to get an epidural. I mean, moms who go through labor don't like telling you they have an epidural. Now. I got. I already know Micah Parsons got an epidural. Yeah, Paulie, like, if you're a Packers fan, you're like, I thought that was a bit because he's holding out. Yeah. Is it real? Yeah. Hey, stop doing that. Hey, don't be. Don't be kidding around about that thing. I got to get an epidural. No. No, you don't. No. No. It's over. Yeah. James in Virginia. Hi, James. Oh, thank you for taking my call, brother. Happy Tuesday. DP Damet, Salute the Commanders, man. Got a whole lot for you, dp. So I'm gonna just rail them off, man. My worst was realizing that Ohio State has one of the best defenses in college football. Man, I can't stand them, man. But they. They have a legit defense. Arch Manning, wow. Even as bad as he played early in the game, he still stood in there and threw darts down the field. Had a chance to lead his team down. I think Texas is going to be something special. I really. Chris, hit it, man. LSU is my pick to win the national championship. I think that was a massive win going into Clemson and beating them, shutting them out in the second half. My bestest of the weekend, though. This is the last weekend without the NFS outman. Let's go. And you can't start the season without super bowl picks. Draymond Green once said it, man. It's the Golden State invitation on NBA. Well, in the NFL, it's a Kansas City invitational. And until someone knocks them off out of the AFC Championship game, definitely got to put them in there. I'm going to put them against the Cincinnati Bengals. Offensively, too much firepower. If they can just get a few stops. But I'm definitely taking Casey again. But who are they going to face? None other than Commanders playing the Eagles in the championship game for the second year in a row. Jaden Daniels. Nothing tells me he's not on that trajectory to be the star of the league, man. You guys have a great day. Thank you for taking my call. Salute the commander. Thank you, James. Proud new father. James got a lot of energy. LSU won its opener for the first time since 2019. That's when they had Joe Burrow and they went on to win the national championship. Andrew and Washington. Hi, Andrew. Best and worst of the weekend. Good morning, Dan, Dennis, thanks for taking my call. It's great to be back with you all and have you guys back. Best of the weekend. I'm going to go with my Florida. Florida State Seminoles beating Alabama, stopping their streak of 23 straight season opening wins. My bestest of the weekend. Just seeing Bill Belichick just go down in a flame of fire. I don't. I don't know if this is A moniker for the whole season, how it'll go. But it was just great to kind of see him get some of his own medicine. I think he's just. Just kind of run around for a while and had his thing going on. And it really shows that he might have not been as, I don't know, concentrated on college football, so. But my question for you, Dan, is, when do we get your super bowl pick? We just heard James in Virginia. Is that a Thursday thing? Or when do we hear what picks you makes? I know you dread it, but we love it. Either Thursday or Friday. We're trying to figure that out. And I do dread. I. I hate making predictions. Not that I might be wrong. It's just. It's always there when you watch games. And I just like to watch a game and let it unfold. You don't want to go, ah, okay. I pick them to win. And then all of a sudden, it changes how you're watching a game, rooting for a game. Did you see where the Oregon mascot lost his head to his costume? That was in the game against Montana State. Yeah, Paulie, I saw that play, actually, and great job. Great heads up. No pun by the mascot. Lost the head, scrambled, covered his head with one arm, and ran into the. Underneath the stadium to put the head back on. But do you think there are little kids going, oh, my God, yes. Great. Great scramble to cover it up, though. It's not the first time the Duck has had a wardrobe malfunction. Also lost his head to his costume when he tripped on the road last season against Purdue. Has that happened multiple times. You got to find a less klutzy duck. Don't you lose your job. Okay. Wait a minute. Didn't we do the sausage race? Yes. I was very hot and slow. I didn't fall, but I almost passed out. Yeah, but I, you know, those things are top heavy, and I could see where, you know, that could happen. But once it happens once, I'm not saying fire the person on the spot. Then maybe find a way to buckle that in a little better so it doesn't happen ever again. So you're thinking of firing the duck, huh? The headless duck. If you're not going to fire the duck, just make sure that doesn't happen a second time. You got to keep that head on and get the extra glue, whatever. You got to fasten it. Thank you. Ducks to be him. Buddha in San Francisco. Hi, Buddha. Welcome back. What up, dp? Happy Tuesday, boys. Let's go, Fritzi. Let's go. And let's just get right to it. What happened last night in North Carolina was just not good. And dp, I was thinking to myself, how many people in the greater New England area last night lost money? Survey says, a lot. Best of the weekend, the opening drive of the UNC game. Dan, watching all the hype. Michael Jordan, perhaps you have heard of him. All of the luminaries all joyful and celebrating with a crowd was going nuts. I mean, even Fritz, he must have been getting ready to call Bill for an interview today. And then, man, and worst of the weekend, and everyone treating TCU like they were the Washington Generals and I mean, realizing they were for real. And then the overall general overreaction of Texas and Ohio State game, which was choppy shout out and under delivered as a whole. I mean, we've been, we've been spoon fed this whole notion that Arch is like, you know, he's a lock and he's going to be the next hall of Famer, but just because his last name, I mean, we got to actually let him play some football and find out for himself, man. I mean, it's not good. Thank you, Buddha. Yeah, I understand the hype, but Arch Manning didn't hype himself. The media did. I mean, Paul Feinbaum says he's as good a quarterback or ready to go. I don't know the exact words, you know, since Tim Tebow, okay, high praise, let me just see him play. And it goes back to what we've talked about. If his name was not Manning, would you have viewed him differently? And the answer is yes, but he didn't hype himself. Although I think at one point the number of Arch commercials was equal to the number of completions that he had had. It was two and two. But hey, he got, you know, his wardrobe or sunglasses and, you know, he's. That's one of those where it's always tricky that if you're playing well and you have a commercial, you go, boy, that's good timing. Or if you're not playing well and you go, that's bad timing. Or you're watching a game and somebody is doing commercials but they're injured, you go, it's not good. That's not good programming. Yeah, Paul. And to give perspective again, I went back and looked. Tim Tebow's first career start for Florida, home against Western Carolina. 62, 0, easy ramp up. Arch. Arch should be really good. Should be. That doesn't mean he's going to be. And it goes back to not great competition in high school. Got hyped he sat a couple of years. He showed glimpses when he came in for Quinn Ewers, but that doesn't mean he's going to be the best. We already had him as the number one pick in the draft and that Nick Saban was coming out of retirement. Like, we can't help ourselves because we can't just go. Let me just watch. I know it's not good radio or good TV because you got to have a take. Gotta have a hot take. He's gonna be better than Peyton, you know. Okay, slow down. How about we just let it unfold a little bit here? Because nobody said leading up to this, hey, he's going against Matt Patricia, former Patriots defensive coordinator, and he's going to give him a lot of looks and this is going to be really. No one said that it was, oh, man, a lot of money coming in on Texas and Arch on the road against Ohio State and they lost 18 starters. And I want to hear that perspective. I wanted to hear the perspective of Belichick has 70 new recruits, 70 players. How do you get them to kind of congeal? How do you get them to all of a sudden understand what you're supposed to do? Really hard to do. Arch was at Ohio State. It wasn't Ohio University, it was the Ohio State in that atmosphere. And they're kind of good, too. It just. I watched and, you know, obviously I was underwhelmed. I didn't expect him to be great. I thought he would be good and I thought that they would have. They would put themselves in a position that they would be able to win this game. Here is Steve Sarkeesian talking about Archman. The growth throughout the game for Arch was. Was really encouraging for me. We're going to be fine. Like I said, we got work to do as a team and as an offense, but ultimately, like, I'm getting on the plane knowing we're going to be a good football team. And so, hey, we didn't win tonight. That's the life of a competitor. We went for it in a tough place against a good team, but we'll get. We'll get back on the horse and we'll play good football this season. Yeah. And I believe that. Yes. Yeah. The problem is with the storyline is, man, you know, that game was really winnable. If maybe we didn't miss that handful of throws, man, if we just had a quarterback who hit those throws, we will probably would have won that game because it was only 14, 7 very winnable game. We just needed a guy to hit two or three more throws and we probably would have won the game. Yeah. When yours, Quinn yours. I had, I had a Texas grad who said, if Quinn, yours is quarterback and do you think we would have beat Ohio State? I go, I have no idea. And I said, and. And he's like, now what? It wasn't Shane Irving, by the way. But it was, you know, if we had Quinn yours, do you think we'd be in? And I go, yeah, probably. I knew it. I knew it. I go, give Arch a little time here. Give him a little time here. Maybe another game or two. We'll take a break. Play of the Day Next Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Barnes in the backfield. Sam's directly behind. Hoovers in the shotgun. First and ten turn, give Barnes. They come from the. Barnes finds a scene. 30, 35, 40. Barnes got a right hand sideline. Down to the 40, down to the 30. They don't have an angle. Barnes will score. Take the horn. Touchdown. TCU 75 yard touchdown run. That's courtesy of Learfield Sports. TCU racked up 542 total yards of offense. That's your play of the day. Play of the day brought to you by Express employment professionals. Business fluctuations make running your manufacturing business complex and try to staff your business. It doesn't have to be. Go to expresspros.com to find the location nearest you. Expresspros.com. all right, Seaton, what's the poll question been for the first hour of the program? Coverage that didn't match the reality. It's the best way I could word that, by the way. You were at Ohio State. With Ohio State and Texas, you took in all the festivities there. I was, yeah. I was. I'm saving that for my best of the weekend. All right. For next hour. Okay. All right, so poll question. Coverage that didn't match the reality not piling on here. But Arch Manning or Bill Belichick. We're not talking about them. We're talking about the coverage. Talking about the coverage. Yeah. Leading into the game especially. But, yeah, I would say the coverage last night of tcu, North Carolina. I'm sorry, who? Oh, tcu. Yeah, that's true. I'm sorry, who do they play? And I watched probably an hour, hour and a half of coverage maybe leading up to that game. And I felt bad for tcu. And I. Look, I get it. They're. They're. They're selling North Carolina. That's why you're tuning in. I get it. You just got to be careful in making sure you're covering a game. They were covering an event, not a game, in my opinion. You know, Texas against Ohio State is still Texas against Ohio State. It was Arch's debut, but this is still defending national champs at home against the number one team in the country. That felt like the coverage was a little more fair, but, yeah, there, you know, a heavy dose of Arch, and I got that. But you're selling that. Why are you tuning in? You want to see Arch Manning? Why are you tuning in? You want to see Bill Belichick? David in Ohio. Hi, David. Hey, Dan. Best of the weekend. Watching Ohio State beat Shane Irving's Texas Longhorns. Horns down. Then I got a. Got a. Some on the Bill Belichick situation. TCU dropped 48 on UNC, just one shy of the age gap between Bill Belichick and his girlfriend. At least his cutoff hoodie sleeves finally makes sense. He's been trying to dress young enough to fit in. Thank you. All right. I was waiting for the age separation between him and. And his girlfriend. There was a cutaway of her at the beginning. I think that she was with the Dignitaries. She might have been there with Randy Moss. Lawrence Taylor was there. Mia Ham. Former North Carolina soccer star Mike Jordan was there. Yeah, Paul. Yeah. If you had the under on cutaway shots, you would have won. Yeah, I. I don't know if there was a. Let's not show her, but Michael Jordan, that was the only Jordan I wanted to see. But, you know, I want to know how. Like, I would have had cutaways. Were they there in the fourth quarter? The dignitaries probably weren't there. I'm gonna guess Mike had his. His private jet fired up. Garrett in Salt Lake. Hi, Garrett. What's on your mind today? Yeah, hey, Dan. I have two bests of the weekend and one worst. My first is my Utah State Aggies won our home opener against utep, so that was pretty exciting. Second is, I was wearing my CSU baseball shirt over the weekend, and somebody commented on it, which leads to my worst. I couldn't find any coverage on Krappenberg State this year, so I was wondering if you or the I team could shed some light if they were involved in any blowouts. Crappensburg State. Good call. They beat Skidmore. Garrett gets it. I got that. Yeah, they beat Skidmore by a deuce. And. But, yeah, no blow out there, but Crappensburg State is one, and, oh, they always go for two now. They do. Yes, they do. Zach in Knoxville. Hi, Zach. What's on your mind? Hey, dp, thanks for taking my call. I'm gonna try to get this out in one breath like James in Virginia. Best of the weekend was watching the Buckeyes whoop up on Texas. And on that same note, the worst of the weekend is seeing Matt Patricia with a pencil in his ear and a laminated play call sheet. Yeah, I don't know what he uses the pencil for. Once you. If it. If the play sheet is laminated, you're probably not going to be able to write anything on wax pencils. How about a Sharpie there, Gus in LA. Hi, Gus. What's on your mind today? Good morning, Mr. Patrick. How are you and the boys? Hope you boys had a good weekend. Well, the best of the weekend is that we're back, right? We're back. We're good. My SC Trojans hung 73. It was against a junior college from Missouri, I think. But hey, man, it was still good. Still great. We're back. Worst of the weekend, I went to the Dodger game on Saturday. Tyler Glass now carries a no hitter into the sixth inning. Dodgers still lose six to one. Awesome. And then just the overreaction for the weekend. Arch Manning. I'm, like, sitting there, like, me and my boys were in a group chat. Everyone's roasting him, and I'm like, am I the only one that knows that this is his first actual, like, legitimate opener against the defending national champion on the road? I was like, if this was against an FCS team, I'd be like, yo, like, yeah, like, let's, like, the pitches and, you know, pitchforks and all that come out of them. But I'm like, yo, if he plays the next two games like this. All right, you good? I think it's a massive overreaction, however. Bill Belichick. Yeah, no, you gotta quit, brother. Thank you, guys. Just give it a little time. Kaylin DeBoer at Alabama. All right, a little time. Belichick in Carolina. A little time, Arch. A little time. Just be fair to the story, the situation, the people involved. Yes, Paul. Nick Saban's first year at Alabama, 2007. He was 7 and 6. He lost his last four games, including at home to UL Monroe. It was not a raving success. Hour two on the way. Robert Griffin Jr. III will join us. Will check in with the Carolina Tar Heels as well. Albert Brear, the Monday morning quarterback as well. Busy two hours on this Tuesday coming up. Hope you can stay with us. Fritzie Seaton, Marv, Paulie, yours truly, Dan Patrick. Show this labor day.
