Good morning those watching on Peacock, our streaming partner or the NBC Sports Network. Coming up, we'll talk some college football. Lane Kiffin is on the move. Well, at least by private plane. I don't know if he's going to take the LSU or Florida job, but he and his family, I think they've been to Florida, I think they've been to lsu. But for some reason they're going to get on a plane and take a tour. Their college tour of Lane is going to leave Florida. Pat40 from Sports Illustrated will join us. Coming up, Paul Skeens, Cy Young winner, unanimous Cy Young winner. He'll join us. And Reggie Miller will stop by as well. Cowboys roll the Raiders. They're now 4, 5 and 1. This is one of those you expect to win. The Raiders aren't good. And if you look around the NFL, there are a lot of teams that get tripped up in these kind of games. So you did your what you're supposed to do. You took care of business. It's not one of those. Yes. Now if you beat the Eagles and you put up a couple of impressive games here. I thought they were a playoff caliber team with Micah Parsons and they might, you know, be on the doorstep of being a playoff team. Quinn and Williams was a great pickup for them. And last night you saw George Pickens and CD Lamb, they were great. Dak Prescott was great. And granted, I'm going to grade them on a curve because it was against the Raiders, but still, we've seen the Cowboys play down to, you know, the Cardinals. Now, I would say Carolina, but Carolina has been a pleasant surprise this year. So I have to be fair to them that they're not what they used to be. That, you know, their quality of. They went into Green Bay and won. So it's not like we can look at Carolina the way we look at Tennessee. But if you're a Cowboy fan, you got what you needed, an impressive win and, you know, sometimes you get these trap games where you're gearing up for a bigger game. The Eagles and you don't take care of business with the Raiders. Here is Dak Prescott talking about the impressive performance by George Pickens last night.
Pat40
He's a one of a kind guy.
Marvin
Special individual, elite, has a great feel for the game, loves the game, plays the game like a kid. I mean, when you watch him play, I'm sure, right? The energy, the celebrations, like that's contagious, you know, and the discipline right there is a part of that that we've all got to tighten up. And GP knows that. Obviously he responded to it, right, responded to the discipline by the way that he came out and the intensity he played with and the effort he had.
Pat40
But he's a special individual.
Marvin
And you said there is a balance to it though.
Dan Patrick
And you know, Dallas is going to score points and I was curious how often they score 30 points or more. Actually, they've scored 33 points or more 29 times since the start of the 2021 season. Most in the NFL over that span. And Dallas has five games of at least 33 points this season, tied for most in the NFL. The question was going to be their defense and when they got rid of Micah Parsons. Now, Quinn and Williams is really good. When Quinn and Williams is really good, he is an all pro type of defensive tackle. And this is what they need. You need a couple of guys who can help you because that secondary is not very good. So the guys up front have to be a whole lot better to make sure that you don't have a shootout with every single game. But you got Philadelphia, Kansas City and Then Detroit for Dallas. Now they have Minnesota. They also have the Chargers, Washington and New York. All right, the Chargers are okay. Offensive line is really bad. Washington, we know, is not the same. And New York, I guess Jackson Dart would probably be back for that. But these next three games, Philadelphia, it's a Sunday. Then Thursday, they've got Kansas City and then they've got Detroit. They're at Detroit on December 4th. They host Philadelphia and they host Kansas City. And Kansas City's got a couple of games coming up. They got the Colts and you got the Cowboys. And if you don't beat the Colts, we might be talking about the Kansas City Chiefs not making the playoffs. All right, poll question, Dylan. And for Seaton, what do we have?
Dylan
All right, Dan. Well, we got a few options. I know you mentioned Lane Kiffin at the top of the show. If you're Lane Kiffin, are you staying at Ole Miss, going to Florida, going to LSU or other?
Dan Patrick
Well, I've said that after watching the documentary that ESPN did on Lane Kiffin and his family in Ole Miss, I hope he stays there just for maybe his health, mental health, physical health, getting in shape. And he's got his family there. He and his ex wife, I think, have reconciled. The kids are there. It just feels like there's something great there. Now, I know that you're always thinking as a coach, where's the next job? It's kind of like when you buy an apartment or you rent an apartment in New York, you immediately think of the next apartment that you're going to get before you even move in. And that's the feeling I get with a lot of these coaches. Here we are, I like it. We're doing well. I want to find out the commitment and, you know, granted the sec, you want to find out Ole Miss, are we going to be in there with everybody else? Are we going to be spending like everybody else? By the way, James Franklin went to Virginia Tech. That was a dance that was going on for three weeks. And he probably wanted to know the same thing. How much money do we have? We can win the accident. The ACC is not that good. We can be a playoff team. And I think that's a really good pickup for Virginia Tech. But as far as Lane Kiffin, I would say just because I've been around this for four decades, you got to stop chasing. You know, at some point it's okay to say, this is where I want to be. I like where I am. And it certainly sounded that way when I watched the documentary. But now all of a Sudden, it's just weird where now you have to say to Lane Kiffin, hey, you got until the end of the month to decide if you still love us. And now you're going to go Florida and you're going to go to LSU. Pat, 40 from Sports Illustrated will join us to talk about that. But it is. It's just. This is the way of life in college athletics, unfortunately. I'm all for everybody getting what they want to get, they deserve, but, you know, here we are, pitchforks, you know, we're up in arms. These kids, they get to transfer. They got transfer portals and nil. They get a free education, all of this. But it's okay if Lane Kiffin wants to go because there's a buyout. The problem I have is you recruit kids and then all of a sudden we get upset because the kids are getting something now as well. So if Lane goes, I'm sure it'll be successful at LSU or Florida and it won't be his last stop.
Dylan
Yes, Dylan, pre nil, though. This wouldn't even be a conversation, right? Like, it would just be a foregone conclusion that he is leaving.
Dan Patrick
I don't know. I. I mean, with Lane's past, yes, I would think that, but I don't know. It's some. Something struck me when I watched this documentary, documentary there on the mothership. And I just seemed like somebody found peace. I get. Just found, like, this is where I belong, you know, your daughter's in school. I think he's got another kid who's a high schooler and his ex wife is. I don't know, just. It felt like he's having fun. That's probably. And it's not like you settle because you can still be in the playoffs. You can still compete for a national championship. You're doing that this year. I mean, I get LSU and Florida. There's a whole lot of talent to choose from. It would worry me about how LSU handled Brian Kelly. When you get the governor involved in this and now the athletic director gets kicked to the curb and you know you're going to pay him $54 million because Brian Kelly's not going to give you a haircut. He's not going to take a discount. James Franklin did that for Penn State, but I don't think that's going to happen at lsu. They've been trying to do some negotiations, but doesn't seem like that's going to happen. What other poll question do you have?
Dylan
All right, well, this one's from Paulie off last Night's game. Who's the messiest situation at the moment in the NFL? The Raiders, Saints, Titans or other?
Dan Patrick
I'm not going to say the Saints. I don't think it's messy. They're just not relevant.
Dylan
Just not great.
Dan Patrick
No, like the jets are messy, the Raiders are messy. Who else? Paul?
Paulie
I would throw out the Atlanta Falcons. Michael Penix, the quarterback is injured. He's done for the season. He didn't play that well whilst healthy. It's another knee injury and as good knee. And now your quarterback situation is back to being in flux with two highly paid quarterbacks on your roster.
Dan Patrick
I found it interesting when somebody says, oh, Michael Penix, he injured his good knee. Well that's a good thing. I go, no, it's not. Well now he has two bad knees because the other one, he had two surgery surgeries on them. I think ACL or mcl, but yeah, that, that's a mess because is the coach going to survive? You do have some, some good talent. You have a quarterback you're paying a whole lot of money to and this might have been the year you could win that division. So I would. Atlanta is messy. Tennessee feels messy. Cardinals are messy. Cardinals are messy.
Paulie
Left them out.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, that's a bad sign that I forgot about and, and I. There are times when we look at messy and then irrelevant. Like messy means we're still talking about you. The Saints, they're irrelevant. You just go, oh, okay. Tyler Shock, how did he do? Okay, that's it. Spencer Rattler, is he done playing? Okay, you just, I don't, I don't think they register. They're not on your radar. Yeah.
Paulie
Paulie, here's a team I did not put on the list. The New York jets. They stink. They're not playing for anything this year, but they seem to have a plan for the future with draft picks that makes it feel less messy.
Dan Patrick
Once again, as I said many times on this show, I want to know who's drafting. You can have a lot of picks. Cleveland Browns have had a lot of picks down through the years and they didn't do well. Who's drafting and what is your game plan? There's now Justin Fields is benched. Now you got to get a quarterback and you traded away a couple of your, you know, well known, better players. It just, you can hit the reset button, but after a while you're not going anywhere. It's two steps forward, three steps back. It feels like. Any other poll questions there, Dylan? By the way, I'm battling a head cold, so If I seem a little loopy, it's because I'm on some meds today. Good stuff or loopier? No, it's not good stuff at all.
Marvin
Blue game.
Dan Patrick
This could be my Michael Jordan food poisoning game. Yeah, I. Once again, it wasn't a flu game for Mike. It was food poisoning.
Marvin
Was it food or was he going out having a few. Yes.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Dylan
The old brown bag flu.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yes. How would that change people if they realized that Mike was just hungover? Now, he did have a great performance even being hungover, but it might change that story just a little bit there. Ah, the flu game. He collapsed into Scotty Pippen's arms. Yes, Marvin.
Marvin
He relates to the common man. A lot of people have gone to work hungover, had a great performance, man. You see how Scotty did the accounting today, man.
Dan Patrick
He's playing hurt now. We get that sometimes, you know, when somebody will be. I'll see Dylan, you know, it'll be like, oh, playing hurt. Yeah, yeah, playing hurt.
Dylan
I've played. I've had a lot of flu games.
Dan Patrick
Yes, you have. You just haven't performed the way Jordan did. Yes, Todd.
Marvin
Yeah, that narrative changes a lot. If you did something to yourself by some poor choices. But before a big game, as opposed to coming down with something, that's a whole different world.
Dylan
I'm right here, Todd.
Dan Patrick
Sorry. Yeah, Paul.
Paulie
It's so funny that this has legs, this flu game story, for so long. After the last dance documentary, there's a big article I found out in Salt Lake City. The accusation from Jordan's trainer was that it was a local Park City pizza place that sabotaged the pizza to take Jordan down. And they actually interviewed the owner and of the pizza place because he delivered it when he found out who is for. And he said, of course we did not tamper with it.
Dan Patrick
All I know is I ran into two people in Park City when I went out there a couple years ago, and as soon as they saw me. What is that? Is it High West Distillery?
Paulie
Yes, High West.
Dan Patrick
Okay. And these two guys came up and said, hey, we got the real story on Jordan. And one of the guys was a bartender in the complex where Jordan was staying. And I think, you know, there were other people there. It's playing cards. And they had a different perspective, a different story to tell with. Now, granted, they're locals, but they said that there it wasn't a flu game. I said, okay, fair enough. Well, one day there's a few stories that might come out, you know, with Michael going to play baseball. Why did he Go play baseball. Is there something else there? Yes, Marvin.
Marvin
The baseball thing really always gets me because would David Stern say you know what, our cash cow, our, our biggest export? No, you know what? He's been gambling, so we're going to sit him down for a year and a half. You think Davis, you knew David Stern, you think David Stern would ever think to get rid of Michael Jordan in any capacity?
Dan Patrick
Well, okay, once again, this, this is just, these are speculation, urban legend here. I don't know how we got to this. Oh, me playing hurt. Me playing hurt. That's true. All right, let me take a break here. When we come back, Pat40 will join us and we'll talk about Virginia Tech. Got a good hire here, I think of James Franklin. What's the situation at Penn State? And is Lane Kiffin leaving? And if so, which job does he think he'll take? We're back after this. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show, weekdays at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Pirates pitcher Paul Skeens, Cy Young winner, joins us in an hour from now. Reggie Miller will stop by as well. Pat40, Sports Illustrated senior Writer, Host of Others Receiving votes podcast@si.com he will be at the Texas Georgia game on Saturday, then on site for USC Oregon as well. Oh, you went to Texas Georgia? I'm sorry. Then you'll be at the USC Oregon game. You're moving around sort of like Lane Kiffin is. So what do you make of this tour of the south with Lane Kiffin?
Pat40
I I need the private jet access that Lane and his family has right now. It's brazen. It's, I think, insulting to the current Mississippi team. But it's Lane Kiffin, and Lane loves to toy with people's emotions, loves to grandstand, loves to be out in front of whatever's going on. I think he thrives on chaos to a degree. And so sending your family to Florida and LSU when there's 0.0% chance that that's not going to become a big public deal is pretty on brand for Lane. But I mean, if I'm an Ole Miss fan, if I'm an Ole Miss player and you've bought in for this season, that's the best the school's had in 60 years. And your coach's family's out doing this, I'd be a little bit ticked.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I would want to ask my coach, I would want to say, are you all in with us? Right? I and I think that's fair to ask if the captains got together with Lane to say, hey, are you all in with this? This feels like and you would know better than Me, Pat, and I have no information. Maybe somebody's agent leaked that Lane's family was going to LSU and going to Florida. Maybe then you go back to Ole Miss and boost the offer. I mean, this is, this is college football today.
Pat40
Well, it sure is. And that's thing the agents have massive powers. Agents. Jimmy Sexton, the most powerful of all of them. And Jimmy's not above playing hardball. And I think if he feels like, you know, this is something that's going to help us get a better deal, then sure, I wouldn't be surprised by that at all. You know, that, that that is how things work in a college football ecosystem, Dan. That, as you know, the hiring cycle is completely ridiculous and stupid and involved unfolds during the season. And it doesn't matter if you're having a great season, you're still going to get caught up in it if you are a coach who's being wanted here. And I just have never quite understood the tolerance level for this. I actually asked Greg Sankey on Saturday, he was at Texas Georgia. I said, you know, any problem with, within your conference with schools poaching coaches during a season? And it's like the best season Ole Miss has had in decades. And he's like, well, I control what I can control and I can't control that. But I think they could perhaps exert a little more control on how the hiring cycle works.
Dan Patrick
Virginia Tech, James Franklin, what do you think of that partnership?
Pat40
I like it. I think it's good. I think it's good for both. You know, Franklin, his biggest problem was Ohio State and Michigan. Guess what? They're not in the acc and nobody like them is in the acc, especially with Clemson and Florida State currently in the shape that they're in. And the program with the third most ACC titles this century is Virginia Tech behind Clemson. Florida State, they've won four of them. That's a good program. When they're up and going. They got a little outdated. They got a little bit behind maybe in terms of compensation model for players, but they, they say they're all in now. And James Franklin can win you 10 games. Absolutely. Can he win 11 12? We'll see. But in that league, I think he got a better chance to do it. And in that league you got a better chance to finish one or two and go to the playoffs.
Dan Patrick
What's Penn State doing?
Pat40
That's a good question. You know, I mean, I think they're looking in a lot of different areas. You know, I think Signetti would have been probably the the first option there, but. But he quickly took himself out of it. I don't think Matt Rule is a super attractive option to begin with. He's taken himself out of it. A lot of talk about assistant coaches. Brian Hartline at Ohio State, possibly Joe Brady from the NFL, who's with the Buffalo Bills. Eli Drinkwitz maybe from Missouri. So there. There are options there, but it's. That one's been maybe a little more quiet than the SEC searches.
Dan Patrick
What about the other job openings? What do you got? Arkansas, ucla, Oklahoma State.
Pat40
Yeah, yeah, all of those. You know, Arkansas again, that was one where Rhett Lashley made a lot of sense, but he's taken his name out. I think Alex Golish at South Florida has done a good job there. Could be in play, possibly at an Arkansas. He was the offensive coordinator for Josh Hyple at Tennessee. UCLA is an interesting one. I'm not sure where they're at out there. I still think that could be an attractive job, but they've been so far behind from a money standpoint that how much do they want to catch up? We're going to find out. Oklahoma State, been a lot of talk about some coaches from Texas possibly going there. And that makes sense from a recruiting standpoint. Eric Morris at North Texas, who's having a great season 10 one and plays an entertaining offense. Some people of that nature.
Dan Patrick
We're talking to Pat40, Sports Illustrated senior writer, the Sarkeesian Rumors. Diana Rossini on her podcast talked about that his people are exploring or at least putting feelers out there for the NFL. What do you make of that? Especially if they don't make the playoffs.
Pat40
Yeah, I mean, it wouldn't be shocked if he's at least going to look at it. And I would trust Diana Rossini's reporting on that. But yeah, I don't think Texas is like fed up with Steve Sarkeesian to the point of like, please go. I don't think they've reached that point. This season's definitely been a disappointment. You start number one, you're now seven and three. You're probably out of the playoff. Maybe if you beat Texas A and M, you can reverse that.
Marvin
But.
Pat40
I would say next year would be a critical mass year for him. And here's the question there, Dan. If you are pretty well tethered to Arch Manning and you don't think Arch Manning is that good, maybe you're like, okay, this might be time to get out instead of going through year two with Arch being just an okay quarterback and the blame coming back on you.
Dan Patrick
How important is the USC Oregon game?
Pat40
Very. You know, Oregon's in great position but USC is pushing to try to get into the playoff. They, they only have the two losses one's at Notre Dame so their resume is not bad. They need a big skin and certainly or winning at Eugene would would provide that tough place to win. Indiana did it but historically very hard place to win. Lincoln Riley could use it. You know, he's, he's had a good year. It had been a downward trend for from his first year until this season. Maybe reversing that now a big way to reverse it is to win this game, get finished 10 and 2 and make the playoffs.
Dan Patrick
Has he bought himself another year no matter what the outcome is this weekend?
Pat40
Yeah, yeah. Mostly because he's too expensive. I mean his, his buyouts astronomical and I think it's easier to still on top of that because they're, they're 8 and 2 and you know, there should at worst be 9 and 3 in the regular season close to the playoff chase. That sort of thing have gotten over some of the the shortcomings that we've seen year after year from him. So I think there's definite signs of improvement and they've got a big recruiting class coming in for next year.
Dan Patrick
Safe travels. Pat, thanks for joining us.
Pat40
My pleasure, dan. Thank you.
Dan Patrick
Pat40 Sports Illustrated senior writer Host of Others Receiving votes podcast@si.com he'll be at the USC Oregon game. Couple of phone calls in here. Chris in Syracuse leads us off. Good morning, Chris.
Caller
Hey, thank you, Dan. Hey, a couple questions for you. If you are having your Jordan flu game today, which Dan, that would be your Scottie Pippen helping you out of the studio at noon. And also the consensus when Micah Parsons trade went down was that the Cowboys were the clear losers in the deal. With the move the Cowboys have made and the money they've saved to maybe sign guys like dream George Pickens next year and the picks they still have, you think in a year or two the Cowboys could be seen as winners or at least a wash in the deal?
Dan Patrick
Yes, I do. But are you going to pay George Pickens now? He's in the last year of his contract. You're going to pay him CD Lamb money. That's a whole lot of money you got tied up. And your quarterback. Yeah, the Micah Parsons look, I get Micah Parsons that at that price, that price point. I didn't want him for, you know, $47 million. But you could have had him for $35 million if you were proactive. You knew you wanted to sign him, then you could have signed him. And I do think they're a better team with Micah Parsons than Quinn and Williams. Although I do like Quinn and Williams a lot there. There's. Who else is like Micah Parsons? Three or four players, maybe. You know, that's just a difference maker. And that Green Bay defense is great now. They were really good before he got there. Now they're great. But yeah, I think that this turned out to be a positive here. But you did give up draft capital to bring Quinn and Williams in. Yeah.
Paulie
Paulie, the good thing for the Cowboys, they have Quinn Williams under contract for the next two years at 22 million per year, which is relatively fair for a guy of his stature.
Dan Patrick
Zach in Knoxville. Hi, Zach. What's on your mind?
Caller
Adp, thanks for taking my call. I want. Just wanted to correct you yesterday and the first name, right, but Jeremiah Smith is the best player in college football. But just wanted to say that you had that poll question yesterday about why you're watching the game last night and just seeing the inspired performance of the Cowboys coming together after the tragic loss of Marshawn Neyland. That's why I watch sports. People of all different backgrounds coming together for a common goal and just an escape from everyday reality. So I just wanted to throw that out there.
Dan Patrick
Oh, so you're saying that the best player in college football is named Jeremiah, but it's Jeremiah Smith, not Jeremiah Love?
Caller
Correct.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right. I'm not going to argue with it. I think Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State is hurt because from the standpoint of they're going to try to make sure he doesn't beat the opposition, Jeremiah Love's still going to get the ball. And you got another running back who's really good, and he's just had more splash plays than anybody and he's really good. Really good. But it's the running back position. And here we are again. Because running backs in the first round often treated like a football faux pas. Where you go, man, we can't pass up that talent. Bijan Robinson in Atlanta, Jameer Gibbs in Detroit, and then Vegas takes Ashton Genti. Now, I was all for that said prior to the draft. That's where I was hoping he would go. It gives Geno Smith kind of a safety valve. Somebody who can kind of move the chains a little bit there. And he was very exciting at Boise state, but he's 19th in the NFL and rushing yards, 16 in attempts. The problem I have is if you're, if you're going to Draft somebody that high, then use him. He had six carries for seven yards. Why are you drafting him.
Marvin
Now?
Dan Patrick
I probably would have thrown the ball to Brock Bowers 20 times last night. But in today's NFL, you are seeing teams that are using their running back. And you know, you get that running back, wide receiver there, he should be having 20 to 25 touches unless they made a mistake. But I'd like to see Ashton Gente be able to get more touches. I think that that's, that's the one thing that I was noticing. Well, there's a lot of things I noticed with the Raiders where you're like, oh my God, Gino Smith's regressed here. And I, I, I, I did think they'd be a playoff caliber team. I thought Pete Carroll, Max Crosby, Brock Bowers, Geno Smith has played well. I got Ashton Genty, okay, I got something to work with here. And then I realize it's not working, not working at all.
Paulie
Yeah, Paulie, Pro Football Focus does, you know, mid season reports on different positions in the sport. They had the Vegas Raiders offensive line ranked the second worst in the NFL this year.
Dan Patrick
In production.
Paulie
Yeah, second worst.
Dan Patrick
That's always where I would go if I, if I have a high draft pick. Unless I'm sold on the quarterback, you know that he's, I, that's our guy. We got our guy. Can't miss with this guy. Well, you can always miss. I would go offense or defensive line, preferably offensive line. Everything starts there. That dictates everything. If I have an offensive line that can control the ball, my defense isn't on the field when they do. Come on, you know, they, they're, they're going to have the energy. It's not like there's going to be sustainable drives for the opposition. You're going to, you're going to negate that. But my offensive line dictates everything. You win in the trenches. High school, college, pro, you got to have good linemen. And that's where I would invest, you know, the running back sometimes. And I was all for Saquon Barkley with it for the Giants because I thought, you know what, Eli Manning has got his safety valve there and it never worked out. It worked out for Philadelphia. Bijan Robinson, his coach says he's the best player in football. Why hasn't he been able to Showcase that? Christian McCaffrey is having a really good year. I think he's second for offensive player of the year. But whenever he's healthy, he's great. It's just that running Back is always tricky. And then you got Jeremiah Love from Notre Dame, might be a top 15 pick, but we might be talking about him next year at this time and saying, did somebody get a great pick or did they make a mistake? It's the running back position. Yeah, Paulie.
Paulie
It's like the Lions taking Jameer Gibbs earlier than people thought in that draft, but they already had a good offensive line in place when he showed up there. They had Penne Soul.
Dan Patrick
They.
Paulie
They had a good offensive line that he walked into. He didn't walk in like Ashton Jente fighting for his life to get out of the backfield.
Dan Patrick
Yes, Marvin.
Marvin
And it's always easier to find a quality running back than a quality offensive lineman. You can find a good fast. Hey, he's 510, 220 in Corona, four three. Those guys are everywhere. And you've seen that with the Chiefs with Isaiah Pacheco. So I could pick up a quality running back in the late rounds of the draft.
Dan Patrick
Well, like Rico Dowdle. He's a really good running back. Yes. Dylan.
Dylan
Well, I feel like the Patriots did a good job of this this year, where they drafted Will Campbell in the first round and then Travion Henderson, and they started featuring Henderson like only a few weeks ago. But they're running all over people.
Dan Patrick
You got to control the line of scrimmage. As I've pointed out many times, as great as Mahomes is and maybe he's the second greatest quarterback of all time, what's happened when his offensive line isn't good? He is mortal. In those two Super Bowls he lost, he got humbled because he had no, no protection whatsoever. Any great quarterback will tell you, you give me protection. I like my chances, especially with Mahomes. But we've always looked at that offensive line and it's like, oh, boy. And it was, you know, on display again. Last year it was on display against Tampa Bay. The great ones still need a great offensive line or a good offensive line. All right, we'll take a break. More phone calls coming up. Our play of the day is next. The play. The play's gonna play of the day. Winner lips like on Play it and play it. This is the play of the day. Check this out. Snap to Prescott back, steps up in the pocket, deep to the middle. Pickens and circles left and runs away. 20, 15, 10. Touch right. Touchdown. The Raiders just quit running after him and Pickens made an incredibly surgical cut at about the seven yard line. And then after running it in for the touchdown, draws a celebration penalty. That's courtesy of the Cowboys radio network. Dak Prescott has five games this year with three or more touchdown passes, tied with Matthew Stafford for most in the NFL. Hey, Dan, I hope you feel better today. I got two quick things for you. First, are you sitting next to Todd on the route to Las Vegas? Second, did the JLab headphones come with noise canceling capabilities? Thank you.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, David. Yes, my JLAB headphones, they have noise canceling. I call it Todd canceling. But Todd is not sitting next to me. I think I may have picked up his cold and going to be a tough flight, but. Yeah, you're not near me. I don't think I am not. Okay. That's usually what I ask as soon as I get to the airport. Can you tell me where that gentleman is sitting?
Marvin
I think you requested I take a different flight.
Dan Patrick
No, no. But you are taking a different flight, right? Yes. Oh, good. Yes. Dylan.
Dylan
Well, Dan, I believe we are on the same flight, so I will happily step into the Todd role for this trip.
Dan Patrick
No, no, no. Let's, you know, let me miss you. Like, be away from me, and then I could miss you.
Dylan
Absence makes the heart griffonder.
Dan Patrick
Something like that. Yeah, that would be nice. Yes. Marvin.
Marvin
On the way to Notre Dame. Every time Todd would talk, Seaton would go, where are you sitting? Just so he made sure he wasn't sitting next to him.
Dan Patrick
Well, Todd was on fire with that trip.
Marvin
Yes, he was.
Dan Patrick
Like, when sometimes you get Friday, Fritzi, and it could be on a Tuesday. And that. That. That's. That's a long flight to Vegas. You know, it's five hours, and then your taxi. I mean, it's. It's. It's a full day. Yes.
Paulie
Paulie, people are asking on social media if Todd feels guilty for giving you his horrendous cold.
Marvin
I don't know if I gave you my cold. I've been trying to keep my distance from everybody. I'm covering my mouth. I run to the bathroom every 10 minutes to make sure. Go into the. Outside the studio to make sure I'm not near anybody if I feel a cough coming on.
Dan Patrick
Well.
Marvin
And I thought you said your wife was sick a while ago. So why. Why am I automatically being blamed?
Dan Patrick
No, she's lovesick.
Marvin
She's love sick. I must have misheard.
Dan Patrick
Yes, she's love sick.
Marvin
Got it.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Yeah, whatever it is, it's. It's going around, as they like to say. So I got a head cold and. And a sore throat. Oh, boohoo. Okay. Jake and Buffalo. Hey, Jake, what's on your mind today?
Marvin
Hey, Dan.
Caller
Before you guys head to Vegas, I wanted to give you some NFL comparisons for the top four F1 teams, and then clarify a couple of F1 words for you guys, okay?
Dan Patrick
Great.
Caller
Max Verstappen and Red Bull are like the Chiefs. He was the new kid that came in and knocked off the goat, and now he's in the middle of a dynasty. He's a little down this year, but he's still great and has a slim chance at winning. Lando, Norris, and McLaren, you can think of the Lions. They were awful for a long time. The team has turned it around, but their drivers are still looking for their first championship. Lando is very close to securing it, but he's made some mistakes, so he's trying to avoid being like the Bills and giving it away at the end. Mercedes, you can think of the Patriots. They were beaten by the newest dynasty. The face of their franchise left. Been down for a couple years, but they got new talent, and they look like they're back on Track. And then the Dallas Cowboys of F1 would be Ferrari. They haven't won in almost 20 years, but they still get tons of media attention and are forced into every conversation just because they get clicks and then a couple of words real quick. It's not a race. It's a grand prix, not a track. It's a circuit. And then this one's for Fritzi. Pole position is the driver who qualified first. Not what he was thinking.
Dan Patrick
That means.
Marvin
And I was thinking that. So I appreciate the clarification.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Thank you, Jake. I'm ready to go now. Lewis Hamilton's with Mercedes, I believe.
Dylan
Ferrari now.
Dan Patrick
Oh, Ferrari. Yeah. Okay. Because he would get. He just left Mercedes to go to Ferrari. Yep. Okay. And Max Verstappen was unbeatable there for a couple of years. It felt like he had a.
Dylan
There would be, like, going into the race, he would be like minus 600 pretty much every week to win.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Paulie
Paulie, this might be rhetorical. Is F1 driver the peak of luxury sports job? The coolest sports job. It seems like they got everything. They get paid a lot. They're very famous. If you work for Ferrari, you probably have a garage full of Ferraris.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. I don't know what they make.
Paulie
There's danger.
Dan Patrick
I know. Yeah. What do they make, 50, 100 million a year?
Dylan
It definitely varies, but, like, the high end is very high. And there's only 10 teams and two drivers per team, so it's a much smaller pool than most.
Dan Patrick
Well, we're going to hit the ground, and they're going to know we're in town and we mean business when it comes to formula one. Yes.
Marvin
Marvin, did you pack a white suit?
Dan Patrick
It's a linen suit, yeah. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to make sure that I. I'm ready to go when I go to the pit bull concert on Friday night.
Marvin
All right.
Dan Patrick
Dali, I said if Pitbull comes on the show, then I'll go see his show. I mean, that's only fair. Alex in North Carolina. Hi, Alex.

Help here hiring James Franklin. Man, it seems great on the surface, but then I started going back and looking at Power 5 coaches who've been fired over the last 10, 15 years. And, man, it's. It looks pretty bleak when you go.
Dan Patrick
Back and look at that list.
Caller
Except for Lane Kiffin, there's some big names on there that never really did anything again. I mean, you know, Rich Rod's got a chance.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but you can't be picky, Alex. What are you guys, three and six? You're in the ACC. You can win the ACC. Franklin, is he going to get you 10 wins? Yeah, he can get you 10 wins. It's been a decade since you have 10 wins. You can't be picky. And Franklin, that's. I think that's a really good hire. Coming up, we'll talk to Paul Skeens of the Pirates. Talk to him about those reports that he wants to go to the Yankees. Reggie Miller will stop by as well. Hour two on the way, right after this.
