Pacers over the Knicks, advancing to their first final since 2000. You know when you go, wow, hey, they haven't been here since 2000. Doesn't seem that long ago. And then all of a sudden you go, well, that's 25 years, a quarter of a century. So, yeah, it's a little bit longer than you might think. But they're here. But they're a big Underdog again against OKC. We'll talk about that. 877-3DP Show Email Address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter Handle a DP Show Good morning. And the SEC commissioner, Greg Sankey will stop by as well. It didn't take long. It didn't take long after the Knicks were limited on Saturday that the finger pointing has started in New York. And most of the fingers are pointed at Carl Anthony Towns. So there were reports out of New York suggesting the team grew increasingly frustrated with Carl Anthony Town's defensive habits throughout the playoffs. This isn't a new revelation. He's never been a good defender. And he's a. He's a. What do you say, Marvin? He is not a big man. He's a tall man. Correct. Okay. Right. He's not a power forward. He's just a forward. He's really good at scoring. Really good at scoring. And he's good at letting the other team score as well. But he's not a rim protector. Like I don't this this of all the things coming out of New York, I mean, you got to blame somebody. We didn't go to the finals. So it's Carl Anthony Towns. You traded for him. You knew exactly what you were getting. There's no secret. It's not like he stopped playing defense once he got to New York. He didn't play it in Minnesota. That's why they, they had the stifled tower in there, Rudy and the Go Bears. Because Carl Anthony Townes is. He's a seven foot shooting guard. Yes, Marvin, the Pacers were targeting Carl Anthony Towns in the fourth quarter. That pick and roll barbecue chicken. Okay, so you have Carl Anthony Towns who doesn't play defense. Jalen Brunson is on, is undersized. He's not a good defender either. And you're playing for a coach who is a defensive minded coach. So you can blame Carl Anthony Towns defensively, offensively played really well. His numbers were really good. But if the Knicks want to start pointing fingers, I think I'd look in the mirror right now because now what do you do? Carl Anthony Town is going to be one and done. Now all of a sudden you're going to try to package him. Now I'm hearing, hey, would you trade Carl Anthony Town straight up for Giannis? I go, wait, if I'm Milwaukee? No, if I'm the Knicks, of course, would you trade Carl Anthony Town straight up for Kevin Durant? Sure. I don't, I mean, it's a lot younger guy. I mean, these are the things that you're hearing already in New York this morning. And I'm thinking, would I try to package something for Giannis? Sure. But you got to give me something more than Carl Anthony Towns. I always wonder, you know, when we have these trade proposals, why are you getting rid of that guy? Now, Giannis may want out and he's still one of the top five players, but he wants out because he wants to win a championship. Carl Anthony Towns doesn't want out of New York. They might want him out of New York. He had one more block shot than I did in the entire series against Indiana. You're seven feet tall. Jalen Brunson had more blocks than Carl Anthony Towns. Stat of the Day brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. We should not be surprised at any of this. Usually what happens is, remember, Joker can't play defense. Remember that was the knock that he wasn't going to win the mvp. Hey, can't play defense. Well, they're called defensive rebounds. And he's one of the best defensive rebounders in the game looking. I mean, it looks like Bill Russell compared to Carl Anthony Towns, but, you know, Jalen Brunson. It's never been brought up that Jalen Brunson can't play defense. Never. But he can't. He's undersized. You know, he's a great offensive player. You know, has some bad passes, stupid fouls sometimes, but, you know, I love watching him play. But we'll single out, like, Steph Curry can't guard anybody. Steve Nash can't guard anybody. Joker, not a good defender that, you know, somehow that tips the scales to some. Like, nobody's ever said if Shea Gilgis can play defense. I've never heard it, but sometimes when you're pointing out somebody, hey, he's really good on offense, but he's terrible on defense, like Luca. Oh, he's a bad defender. Okay. He's a really good offensive player. I do know that. So at the end of the day, how does it even out? He's probably going to have more points than you and more assists than you. But when it comes to defense, Carl Anthony Towns can't play defense. No one should be surprised because he has never been able to. And now are you going to have him on the move? But you got to have somebody to blame. They're even asking the question to Jalen Brunson about, is Tom Thibodeau the right coach for the Knicks? Jalen, when you. You talk about the confidence, obviously, I feel like nobody takes more criticism than Tom, and this team obviously has turned around during his tenure. Do I kind of feel that going forward, he's the same guy to lift you guys the rest of the way that next level? Is that a real question right now? You just asked me if I believe that. If he's the right guy. Yes. Thanks, guys. Come on. Come on. Awkward. Is that a real question? What do you think he's going to say, first of all, and okay, maybe you're trying to lead the witness a little bit. Maybe. Maybe he gives you something, but he's going to back his guy. Do you think he's the right guy? No. No, I do not. All right, guys, that's it. Thank you. Have good off season. Yes. Todd, even in a moment of terrible disappointment, that if you don't love the question, are you looking to embarrass the reporter there? Is there another way Brunson could have made his point without. Oh, no, no, no, no. You're backing your guy. No, no, no. But you can't back him by saying, of course he's our guy. You have to say, come on, you're really asking me that, dude? Well, I think in that situation, you want to back your guy. Maybe over. Back your guy. But yeah, I probably would have said the same thing. Is he the right guy? He's the right guy. We haven't lost any confidence in him. He's taken us this far and we'll go that much further next year. Really, dude? That's what you got for me? Okay, but do you. Don't blame the reporter for asking that question. Not the greatest question, but the question was asked and you have an opportunity to embarrass. Embarrass him in front of his peers or answer it. Short of make him feel foolish. I'm gonna side with Jalen Brunson with that. You just lost. Hey, do you think Tom's still the guy to lead you? Is that a, is that a real question? What would you say to those who think Tom Thibodeau should be with another team next year? And you should have. I would say, who are those people? There are people who, some say who, who. They're out there. No, no, I would turn it back on you because that, that is our fallback. You know, where we go. You know, people are saying. And I would say, who, who's saying, let me know who those people are. They're kind of nameless right now, but they are saying that maybe Tom's not Ben Stiller. Ben Stiller saying that. Timothy Chalamet is saying that? Yes. You kind of sound like in 40 year old virgin where they're like, no, just always ask questions to women. You just ask whatever they say back. She's like, how you doing? Doing? Can I help you find something? I don't know. Can you help me find something? Poll question. First hour is going to be what do you like to do it yourself? Let's see, we got some options here. How about this offseason? The Knicks need to make a dot, dot, dot, big move or minor tweaks. Well, I think when they lost Isaiah Hartenstein, I really liked him. I mean, he very underrated. Now he's playing for okc. But I mean, Carl Anthony Towns, that's. He says that he is kind of revolutionizing the big man or whatever his compliment was of his game. He is a, a, a skilled scorer. But okay, if you have a defensive minded coach, you got an undersized point guard and you got a big man who's not really a big man. Okay, now Anunoby And Mikhail Bridges and Mitchell Robbins. Okay. Josh Hart. You guys better play some really, really good defense because those guys can't. Okay. Would I still inquire about Giannis? Absolutely. I mean, every team should, Toronto is another team that's emerging now. There should be. Boston should be in, in the mix with this. But what are you giving? What are you giving Milwaukee? Obviously the Knicks would go, hey, we want him. What are you giving up? Well, you're not giving up Brunson, you know, Anunoby, you, you got draft picks and you know, you got to make all this work here. But we, we live in a fantasy world sometimes with these trades we're like, man, the Knicks are going to get this guy. It's like, you know, sports radio call in people talking about the Yankees. You know, we, we, we want to get this guy and we're going to give up, you know, Luis Soto or whoever, you know. Yes, time, assuming you're not giving up heart either, is that you're giving up Bridges and Cat. That's enough to get Giannis. I don't even want to go down that road because it's silly. It's, it's, you know, you're trying to put pieces together and you got four first round picks and then you're going to throw in this and this and this and this. It's really hard to make these kind of moves unless sometimes you need a third team involved in this. But do the Knicks need to make a move? I do. I think so. I mean, they made a move last season and then all of a sudden they missed Julius Randall because Randall, you know, he's good passer and he, he'll play defense. And now all of a sudden they never should have gotten rid of Julius Randall. Yes. Seaton. Right. You're going to have to do like to get Giannis, Carl, Anthony Towns in like three first round picks or something. So now you're starting to look at the 2030 draft, the first round, the conditional first round. Yeah, some of these things. Yeah, it's tough because if you're going to trade him there, where are those draft picks going to be? I mean, you're going to get the 26th pick in the draft because that's what it would be with the Knicks with how they finished. So. But all right, so we kind of have a poll question here. The Knicks should do something small, medium, large. Yeah. Should they make a big move or just some minor tweaks in the off season. I also am going to put up their b. Better finals right now. Pacers Thunder or Oilers? Panthers. Oh, which are you most looking forward to? Well, I'm obviously a basketball fan. I want to see what Indiana's offense can do against OKC's defense. Now granted, that's not tune in factor, just letting you know, in my world, that's what I want to see because there's, you know, we always talk about sex appeal or kind of the drive by with the remote. Are you going to stop if you're watching, you know that game is on and maybe you don't. But if you're asking me OKC's defense against Indiana Pacers, I want to see Connor McDavid be great. Like, you know, you got the stage, you had the stage last year and Florida, with what Florida has done and Tampa Bay prior to that, I mean, it's pretty amazing. But watching the team not panic the way Florida does is, is pretty remarkable. And Edmonton might have the two best players in the finals with, you know, Connor McDavid and Dry Seidel, of course, who never gets mentioned until the postseason on this show. Leon Dry Seidel, yes, Marvin, we never hear about him until play of the day. That's true. That is true. That. But that's on us. You know, we, we haven't been tuning into Edmonton games. Yes, Marvin, next October. Leon Dry side opening night. Hell yeah. By the way, win or lose, we celebrate. That's our motto around here. Since we don't win, we do lose and celebrate. All remaining t shirts, just $10, go to danpatrick.com clearing out our inventory there to make way for some new stuff. We'll take a break. I know a lot of cops and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun? Sometimes the answer is yes, but there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this Taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that Taser told them. What you saw that you liked, you didn't like. The Pacers were 50 to 1 to win the NBA title to start the season. So if they win, they would be the longest long shot to win the title in the last 40 years. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Here comes that. What? Stat of the day. Thank you. Will Ferrell and the Thunder are big favorites to win the title. If you go back since 2005, only the 2018 warriors had shorter odds heading into the NBA Finals than okc. So Vegas is looking at this, that OKC is going to win. The question is in how many games? But it feels like the Pacers have already won. OKC has to win the title. You got the mvp. You dominated teams during the regular season. In the postseason, you're. You've got the home court advantage. You should win the NBA title. And how many times have we had the MVP scoring champ and the NBA champion in the same year? I'm gonna guess Michael Jordan did that quite a few times. I don't know if. When's the last time somebody other than Michael Jordan won the scoring title, won the MVP, and then won the NBA championship? Did Steph Curry lead the league in scoring when they won a title? I don't think so. Maybe Shaq. Maybe 2000. Shaq, which is the last time the Pacers were in the NBA Finals. Quarter century. Yeah. 25 years. Yeah, we should check that because Shea Gilgit, normally you're leading scorer. You're not going to the NBA Finals. But I know Jordan did it a few times, but Shea Gilgis led the NBA in scoring. All right, we'll get to phone calls here, decide on our poll question from hour one. I thought, body language wise, Tyrese Halliburton was ready to walk up and get the Larry Bird trophy. Damn. He took a step. Not a travel, though. No, no. If he took three steps, then that would be a travel. The more I watch that video is more like he euro stepped his way up. The emotions become more exaggerated the more I see him. He took two small steps, but. And then you have to go back two steps. Was I surprised at that? I was. You know, he's the leader of the team. Pascal Siakam is the hall of very good. But I thought Tyrese Halliburton, it all goes through him. But, you know, you have a bad game, you know, the game five, and then all Of a sudden, and there's only like eight or nine voters for this, but yeah, Pasco Siakam wins. I was waiting for Tyrese Halliburton's dad to come on to the floor. He'd have something to say about that. Gus in LA leads us off. Good morning, Gus. How are you, buddy? Good morning, Ms. Patrick. Hope you and the boys had a great weekend. Yeah, that was the awkward of the weekend right there. That little up. No, you don't get the best of the weekend. Even though we lost last night, my Dodgers taken two out of the three of the Yankees, including the 18 to 2 beat down on Saturday. That was very refreshing to see. You know, Dodgers haven't been playing that well a ball of late, so for them to be able to do that soundly against the Yankees, quote, unquote, Ace and Max Freed, that was very positive. Signs of Preston see worst of the weekend. No, I mean, even though they're a little bit of a rival. The Dodgers Diamondback Ace Corbin Burns signaling to the trainer to come out. And then he mouths out the words of my elbows. Done. It's dead and never came back. And now they're saying that his season's done and over with. So speedy recovery for him. Always good to see the Diamondbacks and Dodgers play their best at the same time. And now that he's done, kind of puts a damper on the rivalry for the season. But that's it for me, boys. You boys have a great week. You guys take care. Thank you, guys. Yeah, I watched a lot of the Yankees and the Dodgers last night. Still a great environment. Dodger Stadium. Yeah, it just looks like it's out of a movie, out of a picture, a portrait. The Rockies were swept again, third fastest to 50 losses in baseball history. Congratulations. They're now nine and 50. Nine and 50. And they're getting blown out. They are getting out. They're on pace to get outscored by what, 450 runs, Paulie. That was the pace last week. It's up to over 500 runs. Will be the run differential this season at the current pace. To compare that, the White Sox last year, which were all time bad, got outscored by 310 runs. And when you look at just how bad they've been, they've yet to win 10 games. So they're nine and 50. Third fastest to get to 50 losses. The teams that did this before aren't even teams. You have to go back to 1884, the Kansas City Unions, the 1876 Red Stockings and the 1889 Louisville Colonels. They were embarrassing. Yes. And then you throw in the Colorado Rockies. Just when you thought baseball can't be any worse after the White Sox last year. It can be. This is historical. And not only to lose, but to be blown out. They. They are on pace to be outscored by 500 runs this year. And it's through 59 games so far. Kenny in LA. Hi, Kenny. What's on your mind today? Hey, Danny. I always enjoy hearing Gus's takes. I was actually out at the stadium on a Friday night to see the Dodgers beat the Yankees. Dodgers were down five to two in that game. It was epic. Judge hit a home run, top of the first. Yeah. Then she'll hit two home runs. So that was great. But in that same game, we had a situation that occurred last year too. So Ohtani in the sixth inning leads it off with the second homer of the game. They bat around our number nine hitter. Rojas is up, grounds into a double play instead of going for a sacrifice bunt, suicide squeeze or just take the kick. Shohi has not come up with many runs on many runners on this year. In fact, if you look at his RBI total, it's unbelievably low for his 22 homers. I think he's at 37. Yeah, but it's not important for guys to get on base. The Yankees have a guy who has like 13 home runs and 26 RBIs. It just. It used to be walks as good as a hit, and then guys tried to have 200 hits in a season. It was, you know, important. And I was wondering about that with RBI totals, sort of where are we now? Because that, that was a big stat. You know, somebody driving 130, 140 runs. And guys still do that. It's just there seems like they're just more solo home runs. That's. That's still prevalent. Andy in Rhode Island. Hi, Andy. Welcome back. Good morning, Dan. Dan. It might be Monday, but it's always tier one pressure, Dan. I have two best for you today, Dan. My first is gonna have to be with the TNT crew on the NBA TNT crew. Their farewell, man, it was heartfelt and it's, you know, it's gonna be great to see them continue their legacy on espn. And my second best in celebrating my mom's birthday over the weekend. She finally fired up that, that Wood Rich series Prager. My goodness, Dan. She even said it should come with a, with a warning label because it is just too good, Dan. It's so good. And we Appreciate you thought that, Dan. Thank you, Andy. And happy birthday to your mother. Firing up the Traeger Grill, getting a sponsorship plug in there. We appreciate that. Yeah. TNT said goodbye to Inside the NBA. Now moving to the mothership. And Shaq and Charles and Kenny and Ernie said their goodbyes. Heartfelt by by Ernie. And I like how every time Charles comes on he reminds us or the rest of the sports world and those at espn not going to work every day, not going to be on the morning show. I'm not going to do get up. I'm not going to be doing this. I'm not going to be doing that. All right, Good luck with that. I just don't know. It's the ESPNification of inside the NBA. That would be the only concern that I would have with espn because when you think that you're smarter than everybody or you're going to make something better, we got to make it like our, you know, make it ESPN like, you know, don't do anything to it. Stay away from it. It's foolproof. Don't be foolish and try to change it. Do something different. You don't need to. Now you want to sprinkle in Stephen A. Sprinkle him in. But just sprinkle just a little bit because I don't want Stephen A. At the Garden, you know, being a Nick fan to open up the season and handing the baton to Inside the NBA with those guys. Let him come on. But they're the stars, not you on their show. Let them still have their show. You want to have Malik Andrews come in or I don't know if Big Perk is going to be on since Shaq and Charles have taken shots at him. But that would be my only concern. Let inside the NBA be inside the NBA and try not to have it all over the place. I mean, the beauty of it is that, you know, it wasn't on every night. It, you know, so it was bite sized portion. So you'd look forward to it. It'd be twice a week maybe and hopefully it stays that way. You know, ESPN has a way of, you know, overexposure, you know, McAfee, Stephen A, Dicky V, Chris Berman, you know, myself probably for a while, Steward for a while. You know, they do that. But we're on every day or every night and it's different. And that should help the Inside the NBA because you look forward to it. It'll be great when it comes on. But I get the feeling Charles might be working a little more than he thinks. A little More than he thinks. Hey, we need you guys to be at the ESPYs. What? Yeah, we need you to hand out an award. What? Yes, Paulie. One of the great things about the NBA and tnt, it felt like they were saying the things we wanted to say. Barkley would say, I'm not staying up for the Bobcats, and he can make fun of it or this game. Or they would play a segment where Charles doesn't know the name of NBA players. Do you think all that will be fine with the new regime? I. I don't know. It's fine. I don't even know the new regime. It just seems like they're just big on personalities, and whatever you say, whatever you do, they're fine with that. I don't know. They're not exactly caught up with journalism. I think this is more entertainment. Great. You know, that's. You hitched your wagon to this great. You know, the great Bob Lee came out and lamented the fact that ESPN has kind of lost its way with journalism. Yeah, they have, but, you know, we're old school. That's how I was brought up, that you still cover stories. You know, you try to investigate. Now it just seems like just have an opinion. So what if you're wrong? You move on and you lived it to have another hot take. I mean, that's really what the business has become. It shouldn't be, but that's what it's become. It's about entertainment. Not necessarily the way we were kind of raised at espn, and Bob Lee was the, you know, the forefront. He was the. The godfather of that. It was really, really, really important to him. And. But espn, you got to satisfy your shareholders. You got to be like, hey, look at that stock. You know, look at what we're doing. But they kept the show together. That's the important part of it. And hopefully they. There's, you know, no seat belt that they have to wear. But we'll talk to Barkley coming up next hour. Jeremiah in Indiana. Hi, Jeremiah. Hey, D.P. thanks for taking my call. Best and worse of the weekend, obviously, without a doubt, the best is the NBA Pacers going to the NBA Finals for the second time in 25 years. That's phenomenal. And to get to win in. In the house, and that's just outstanding itself. Reggie being present and the award ceremony and just, you know, it's still an emotional factor for all of us here. And I wouldn't necessarily say the worst, but the downfall is the ending of the TNT broadcast. Ernie was very, very on point. And it's one of those that, you know, still kind of gets choked up a little bit because it's the highs and lows of the game. The win was outstanding. But then the somberness of the end of the broadcast for tnt, now those guys are going to go on to espn, but the people that worked for TNT that got the broadcast going, those are kind of the forgotten ones that we. I think they all stay together. They're going to keep the show in Atlanta. It's not leaving to go to Bristol, Connecticut. It's not going to the mothership. It's. It's like McAfee does his show in Indiana. Indianapolis, they just rent the show. That's all this is inside the NBA. It's outsourced would be the TV term probably for that. Adam in LA. Hi, Adam. What's on your mind today? ADP 6:1, 2:15 Best of the week. Definitely getting two teams the NBA Finals who have never won a championship before. I always root for that in any sport if my own team, which is the Clippers. So I. That's not going to happen anytime soon. But yeah, that's great to see. Worst of the week was Max Verstappen intentionally crashing into George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, which was just. Yeah, that was kind of mind blowing. So, yeah, that's where I was at. All right, well, thank you, Adam. Max Verstappen, he got, he got spanked there a little bit. He said that he was frustrated and then did that kind of out of character. But yeah, thank you for the phone call there. Max Verstappen. Arnaldo in Charlotte. Arnaldo in Charlotte. Hey there. 5, 10, 170. So I, I had a question. Is the Knicks season still a success? I know they didn't win the championship. He lost in the, in the Eastern Conference finals. But I'm a Knicks fan and we're, and I think we're in a positive trajectory here going towards the future. I'm not doom and gloom. I think only one team wins the championship and everybody else does not necessarily have a failure as a season if they don't win the championship. Yeah, it depends on the expectations because you could look at the Cavaliers and say they had the best record in the East. That might be a disappointment. The way they went out the Boston Celtics with the injury to Tatum, that's a disappointment. The Knicks, I think the Knicks got as far as I thought the Knicks were going to get. I mean, keep in mind the Cavaliers were a better team in my opinion. Indiana is a better Team, the Tatum injury with the Celtics, the Bucks having Dame lillard situation, the 76ers aren't any good. So there was a true opportunity here and you didn't take advantage of it. Does Milwaukee do something with Giannis? I believe so. Do the Celtics do something? Do the Cabs do something? So it's not just do the Knicks do something? What about the other teams? Yes. Eaton? Yeah, I mean, I think listening to what you just said there, they got way further than anybody would have thought they could have. I mean, just. They shouldn't have gotten by, really. They shouldn't have gotten by any of those teams. Yeah. You go back to that game one loss against Indiana with Halliburton, and I know we can do what it could have, should have all of that. But I can also go back to a call that wasn't made in the Detroit series in Detroit where there was a foul that should have been called. You know that it's breaks of the game, it's luck, obviously their skill. But if I'm a Knicks fan, do I look at this as a success? I would say yes, I, I would. Now, moving forward, you're not going to win a title with that team, in my opinion. You're not going to Boston should still be good. But, you know, I don't see see Porzingis or Drew Holiday there next season. Would you make a deal with Jalen Brown and get Giannis in there? How about that? I did the IRA eyebrow race on that one when you did that one. How about that? Because I'd certainly. Now, they may not want to trade Giannis in the east, but I'd certainly explore that. Yes, Marvin? Well, if you're a Knicks fan, I think beating the Celtics was a big deal and they said all we got to do is beat the Pacers. There's no Cavs, there's no Bucks, there's no Celtics. It's just a team that we think we can beat. And for them to lose that, I think it leaves a sour taste in Knicks fans mouths. Well, they geared up to beat the Celtics. Their roster did was to beat the Celtics. It's like teams would do this with the Patriots. You, you kind of devised your team because that's the team you were going to have to beat eventually. And the Celtics were wounded. Knicks end up winning. But, you know, Indiana was a better team. Cleveland to me, was a better team. Yes, Marvin. Yeah, the Knicks have a history of doing this. I think the Knicks, they geared up to beat the LeBron Heat, but they ended up losing. To the Pacers because they had nobody to stop Roy Hibbert. Like so you know what? We're trying to stop this one team, but we can't beat this team. Yeah. Players to win the scoring title, win the MVP and win an NBA title in the same season. Marvin Bloop. Bloop. Shaq. In 2000, Jordan did it four times. And prior to that, Kareem Abdul Jabbar with the Bucks in 1970. Stat of the day, Stat of the day, Stat of the day, Stat of the day. Here comes that one. Stat of the Day. So four times out of his six titles, Jordan led the league in scoring, was MVP and won the NBA championship. All right, we'll take a break. Careful. I'm gonna give you the stat of the day. Yes, indeed. Corey in Wisconsin. Hi, Corey. Hi, Corey. Hey, Danny. Great talking to you. I have a best and a worst. My best is the brewers sweeping the Phillies. We're expecting high hopes or we have high hopes for the brewers just because we know we're going to use lose Giannis here in Wisconsin. The worst is doing yard work this weekend. I hurt my back, which I have a double header. I'm 40 years old, I play right center and I bat fifth. And now my status is up in the air, so I'm hoping my trainer, AKA my wife, can get me in shape and ready to go. All right, well, good luck with that, Corey. We'll keep an eye out for the highlights on SportsCenter. Eric in Indiana. Hi Eric. What's on your mind today? Hey, ADP, how we doing? 63185 yeah. Best, best and kind of best worst of the weekend. I was in Munich for the Champions League final. Go psg. And then had to, you know, don't tell the authorities, had to, had to channel a stream for the pacers game at 2 o' clock in the morning over there and really haven't slept since then. But, but go Pacers. All right. Well, thank you, Eric. Yeah, I saw the rioting after PSG1. I never understood when you win and you riot when you lose. Okay, maybe you're upset, but when you win and then you all of a sudden start ripping up your, your city. I don't get it. Baker and Bozeman. Hi, Bake. What's on your mind today? Happy Monday, Danny. Hello, Dan. It's that you're talking about the TNT crew and they're coming to espn and you know that, that Charles doesn't want to get sucked into all these ESPN shows. I think model to emulate would be when Troy Aikman and Joe Buck came over to do Monday Night Football. You don't see those guys on every other show on espn. They're still their own special thing. And I think that TNT could absolutely kind of emulate that model. Well, you're going to want Charles on your show. I mean, I love Troy and Joe. They're nowhere near the star power that, you know, Shaq and certainly Charles. But they did do SportsCenter. You'd see Troy and, and Joe on a Monday night, they'd be doing SportsCenter. I just, you know, every show is going to want those guys always. Yes, yes. Yeah, I tend to agree with the caller, Matt. I think that the days of like the car wash for a superstar talent like that are pretty much over. And I don't think you're bringing in Charles Barkley and he's going to be there for 12 straight hours and he's got a hit on radio and then he's doing dot com and then he's going over to news and then he's doing like, like all of that crazy stuff where it's like, what? I don't really think that talent like that, they, I don't think they treat those guys that way. It was always my philosophy, my advice when somebody would ask me, hey, I'm thinking about going to espn. And I said, even Jason Kelsey, I said, just be careful you don't get caught in the car wash because you don't want to water down all the things that you could be saving for yourself. And he had his podcast with his brother and he was doing Monday night Countdown so for the most part, he has steered clear of that. And maybe there is that mindset of let's not overwork, overexpose the talent that we're bringing in. Now. Stephen A. Is going to overexpose himself. He signs up for everything. He's involved in everything. And he's very popular because of that. And McAfee does the same thing. Those guys, they love to work, but Charles loves to golf. Charles loves to gamble. Charles doesn't want to be in a car wash. But we'll talk to him about that. I'm sure that he will tell us of what his role. I don't even know if he signed his contract. Is he part of ESPN now? Are they, are they officially part? Or did we wait till the NBA season? So Charles will join us coming up a little bit. Phone calls 877-3-DP Show Email address DP danpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP Show See. Would you update the poll results from the first hour of the program? Yeah, we got up there right now. This off season, the Knicks need to make a big move or just some minor tweaks. Right now. Minor tweaks has about 60% of that vote. Boy, it feels like it's going to be a little more than a minor tweak there. You didn't utilize any depth. Did you have depth? You just decided not to use it? Carl Anthony Towns, can you build around him? And Jalen Brunson. Brunson, you can. I don't know about Karl Anthony Townes. We asked Charles Barkley about that.
