You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. It's the day before the day and we are ready to go. Go. It's a meat Wednesday around here as we bring back 1621. Dylan is doing the cooking and he is dressing the part. If you're watching on peacock, be prepared. I don't know what kind of outfit you've got on today, but it's different. I think it's lady pilgrim chic. Oh, okay. I'm waiting until that catches on in Brooklyn and then, then I know it's going to be a fad there.
Paulie
You're actually about two weeks late on that.
Dan Patrick
To meet Friday on Wednesday. And so Dylan said, and Dylan's in for Fritzi today. So he said, let's just recreate the 1621 Thanksgiving Day. They called it a brunch in the forest, I believe back then. But we have cornish game hens, duck with cornbread stuffing, butternut squash, lobster, mussels and sea bass has it better than we do.
Caller Jim
Nobody.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Well, wait a minute. Are you guys okay with that? Yeah. Didn't fit. Oh, wow. Yeah. Okay. All right. Marvin, you okay with that? Wow. Unbelievable.
Brady Quinn
I'm grateful.
Dan Patrick
No, you're not. You're not thankful. You're not grateful. I'm offended. Dylan is cooking this incredible feast. Yes, Paul, I love seafood.
Ross Tucker
I'm just reading the article now from the Smithsonian. I didn't know they had shellfish and seafood at the first Thanksgiving. I love this.
Dan Patrick
So Cornish game hen, duck, butternut squash soup, lobster, mussels, black sea bass. Okay. Just.
Paulie
Oh, buddy.
Dan Patrick

Joe Burrow says he's playing if he's healthy and Joe Burrow in the Bengals aren't going to the playoffs, but they could decide who wins the AFC North. Here's Joe Burrow on his possible return. I understand why people feel that way, but you look at it from my perspective. I'm a football player and if I get hurt, I'm gonna go through the rehab process and then I'm gonna let everybody know when I feel like I can go out there and play. I'm not gonna ever go to somebody and say, yeah, I'm healthy. But you know, I don't think, I don't think I should go out there and play. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'm not gonna live my life and play this game. Scared of something happening. Chris Collinsworth yesterday said he wouldn't bring Joe Burrow back. We'll talk to Ross Tucker and Brady Quinn and get their opinion on this. I understand it from a variety of angles. You can't bubble wrap him. And then how do you pick and choose when he plays and he doesn't play? Let's say you don't have him play the rest of this year. What if he gets a little nicked up next year, which he probably will, then do you shut him down again. How long do you shut him down for? You're paying him $50 million and if you want to put him out there, you have a fan base that you have to play. Gate Kate as well. And if you can somehow have an impact on who wins the AFC north or who doesn't and you get to play in some big games. Big games, from the perspective of this, could decide who makes the playoffs and who doesn't. I get it. You're a football player. There are inherent risks that come with playing the game and certainly that position. Would I play him? Yeah, I would. I'd put him out there because I. I want him to be able to try to find some kind of rhythm a little bit. Just so we have some momentum going into next season. You have a head coach who might not be there next year. Here's the problem. You don't have Trey Hendrickson, your best defensive player. T hegan's not playing. So it's going to be Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase, basically. And we saw what the Ravens did against Shador Sanders when they blitzed just about on every down. And I imagine if I'm the Ravens, I'm coming after Joe Burrow now. Some great football coming up and really important football. Packers and Lions. I mean, that feels like the. Which one of you wants to be a contender? And Chiefs and Cowboys. What's best for the NFL if the Cowboys win or the Chiefs win? Because do you want the Chiefs still alive? Do you want them maybe getting into the playoffs? Or the Cowboys can be kind of on the doorstep of making the playoffs. That's a great matchup as well. And then, you know, the Bengals and the Ravens, which is interesting because I'm waiting to see if Lamar Jackson's going to be Lamar Jackson from a year ago. He's not running as much as he used to. And we should probably get used to this. This might be the Lamar Jackson 2.0. And this happens with quarterbacks, guys who use their legs and then they get to a certain point where they're not going to be able to rely on those legs or they're going to have to stay in the pocket a little bit more than what they normal normally do or those design runs. While you have them, you just don't have them as often as you did. But a lot of great football, college football as well. Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Still no word on what's going to happen with Lane Kiffin. I think it's going to leak out before the game. And I was on the phone with two different college football sources last night. They didn't have an opinion. They thought that he's gone, but they said, we have no idea where he's going to go. But, you know, can he stay at Ole Miss? Should he stay at Ole Miss? Like, those seem to be two questions with two different answers. Of course he can stay. But it feels like Lane Kiffin is out because if he was staying, I don't. I'm not going to wait until after Friday's game. If I'm staying, I'm announcing it prior to Friday's game. Because nothing is going to make that locker room explode like that if he says, hey, I thought long and hard about this. I've discussed this with my family. This is my home. I'm staying here.
Brady Quinn
Boom.
Dan Patrick
Now let's go. Do you imagine, hey, thought long and hard about this, and I can't pass up lsu. Let's go get them. Yeah.
Jason McIntyre
Crickets.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right. Yeah. I think the reaction is going to be kind of like you guys to our meet Friday on a Wednesday. Okay, Coach. All right, Seaton, what's pull question for the first hour of the program?
Paulie
Paul sent this one over. Who are you rooting for, the Cowboys or the Chiefs?
Ross Tucker
Because in general, a lot of people don't root for either.
Dan Patrick
Correct. Okay. Usually you know the answer to a question you're going to be asking people, but I don't know if I have. Well, I have the Chiefs going to the super bowl, so I'm going to say the Chiefs just because I want them to, you know, go to the super bowl representing the afc or I predicted them in the lines. I think the Cowboys winning makes it spicier because now we have a legitimate reason to talk about the Cowboys, and they could play spoilers, slash slip into the playoffs. It just feels like the Chiefs are always going to be kind of in the picture because nobody's great in the afc and you have your chances. The Colts could have done a big, big favor to everybody in the AFC by winning that game. I still love watching Mahomes play, so I'm going to root for the Cowboys. Ish. Because I think for content reasons, I would root for the Cowboys. Yeah.
Ross Tucker
Pulling in the last 13 seasons, the Chiefs have missed the playoffs once. That's nutty. Yeah, That's Patriots.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. What else do we have there, Seaton?
Paulie
Well, I think Dylan's feeling a little offended, so we're going to go with this poll question as well. Which would you prefer, the original Thanksgiving menu or the one we have more modern times?
Dan Patrick
So this has more seafood there. Seafood heavy.
Jason McIntyre
There is venison.
Paulie
That was heavily featured.
Dan Patrick
I scoured the local areas.
Paulie
I could not get venison.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Jason McIntyre
So my apologies.
Ross Tucker
I got to call my venison guy.
Dan Patrick
You know, I was in Vermont, this is years ago, and a guy was going to help me move some furniture, and he was late, and he came in and he goes, you know, I was driving here, and I saw a deer, and I got out and I had my crossbow and, you know, and I go, what? So he ended up killing the deer and then, you know, getting venison for his freezer for the next, you know, year or so, and then came over to help me move a chair. You actually know this guy?
Ross Tucker
I do know this guy, yes.
Dan Patrick
And I'm like, like I'm looking to see what it like he's got blood all over his hands or is there a deer on the. The hood of the car? But he, he was saying, yeah, man, venison, it's great. He goes, I'm going to make you some venison stew. I said, okay, yeah, Paulie.
Ross Tucker
I once said to this guy, our mutual friend, man, crossbows are soft. I thought he's going to take me out. I thought he's going to thumb gouge my eye right there.
Dan Patrick
I would never say somebody with a crossbow is soft now. Never say that. All right, so we'll get a poll question here. Brady Quinn will join us on loan from Fox Sports. The big games coming up this weekend. I spent a lot of time last night, probably over an hour with each of my college football sources, and I'm just kind of asking questions about Penn State. And, you know, they both listen. They said, you know, you're probably right. Penn State made a mistake in firing James Franklin. If you're going to fire somebody, who are you getting? And there's a lot of pressure, you know, and, you know, the fact that you're firing him in October, I don't know if it was, hey, we have our guy to, we need to get rid of this guy. And they, from what I'm told, went after Mike Elko at Texas A and M pretty hard. But right now, maybe they don't have a leader in the clubhouse. And Matt Rule was never really a candidate. From what I was told, he used it to get a contract extension at Nebraska. But the thing that both of these college football sources told me is what is going on at the high school level with nil. And they named names, but I'm not going to of a football player who's in high school. And there's a bidding war between two major schools. And he has a 2 million. He's in high school, senior year. He's got a $2 million nil package and one school just up the ante and not necessarily at a position where you would think you're getting $2 million but plays at a, you know, very good high school and you got a bidding more. They're getting into the. The high school ranks. That's where they're starting now. They're not waiting until you're transferring. These schools are going after the high school kids and they've been doing this. Again, I don't want to be naive with this, but they both laughed at. You had these college coaches, these. The collectives. That's what I was told. The collectives are going after these kids and paying this amount of money. But also, if you don't go, you have to pay back. If you don't stay, you have to pay back. And I was told it was $2 million for one player. And they said, but this is happening all over because, okay, Nil, you know, they even said Alabama used to have the money to pay their players, but Alabama doesn't have oil money and they don't have tech money. This is how they described it. And so, you know, that's where Nick Saban was like, I'm getting out of here. Like, I don't want. I didn't. You know, I don't want to deal with this with Nil with transfer and all that. And remember when he had that, he was at a booster meeting or, you know, some kind of booster meeting in Tuscaloosa where he was saying, hey, I mean, we got to step up and start spending like Texas A and M. We got to keep up. And he's right, because A and M is spending money. You got oil money, you got tech money. But they both were talking about how, you know, coaches leaving coaches, you know, you know, being tampered with, flirting with another job. And they just said, there is really no oversight committee and it's to the detriment of college football. And they also talked about there's not going to be an expansion for the playoffs in 2026. They think it'll happen in 2027. So we discussed a variety of things with coaches with, you know, high school players. Nil, collect. I mean, crazy, crazy. They brought up Brady Quinn talking about how great Brady has been helping Notre Dame. I mean, he's part of the collective team. They're getting money. Notre Dame is not missing out on players. They were like, nope, they're spending money.
Ross Tucker
Yes, Paulie, if you go back 10 months ago, the star quarterback, Bryce Underwood, five star quarterback, was going to go to LSU. Michigan worked with Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle. He's got multiple billions of dollars, and supposedly his nil deal for four years is between 10 and $12.5 million. And that was for an incoming freshman.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I know.
Ross Tucker
And he's got a chance this weekend to earn it.
Dan Patrick
That's Tech money. But that's what this has come down to it's unlimited. The guy has an island in Hawaii. You know.
Paulie
They all do, though not.
Ross Tucker
One of the five islands.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I don't know.
Ross Tucker
Hey, it's Maui.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Doesn't Mark Zuckerberg own an island in Hawaii as well?
Ross Tucker
Is that the thing to do as a billionaire, even though they're not convenient to own your own island?
Paulie
Larry Ellison owns about 98% of Lanai.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, Sure, why not? I mean, what do you buy after all of that? The fact that you make enough money that you could buy the NFL and you could buy the NBA and you could buy like you, you could have your own leagues. You just say, you know what I'm thinking, I don't know, an island. I'm going to buy up every NFL franchise. What would that cost you? And you start with the cowboys at what, 10, $12 billion. So let's say you spend $100 billion and you have a couple of hundred billion. These guys are going to be trillionaires.
Ross Tucker
Yeah, Paulie, if you said the average NFL team is worth $7 billion and $220 billion to buy them all and.
Dan Patrick
Still have money left over, I mean, that's, that's wealth. That's crazy wealth. Stupid, stupid wealth. I want to be stupid like that. Let's, let's take a break here. Brady Quinn will join us. We'll get to your phone calls coming up. Settle on our poll question as well. We're back after this on the Wednesday thankful edition of the Dan Patrick Show. Brady quinn will join us momentarily, Mike Golick Jr. In an hour from now and Ross Tucker from CBS Sports as well. Packers, Lions, Chiefs, Cowboys, Bengals and the Ravens as we bring in Brady Quinn, Fox college football analyst, former Notre Dame quarterback. Also, the show that precedes ours on Fox Sports, the two pros and a cup of joe is going to be at the Big House. It's Ohio State, Michigan, Saturday, 9am Eastern is when they get started. Big noon kickoff. How would you compare Notre Dame, USC to Michigan and Ohio State rivalry?
Brady Quinn
Well, I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, so I've got a pretty good idea of the differences between the two only because of the nature of both schools, how close they are in proximity, the types of players that they traditionally recruit in both states, you know, the top players. And so it's just an entirely different feel between the two because they're both two Midwest schools. And so it's not a battle of culture where you get that a little bit with, you know, Catholicism and Notre Dame in the Midwest versus like this SoCal laid back, like let's go out and surf. And I don't want to believe in anything or I believe in everything. So it's, it's a very stark contrast between the two fan bases for sc, Notre Dame versus what you get in Michigan and Ohio State. I mean, these are, you know, two programs and two schools who know know each other so well. There's so much history behind it just in regards to even the coaching staffs and all of that. So I would say with Notre Dame, sc, there's tradition, there's history, there's both schools kind of honoring at least used to. I don't know if that tradition will continue. But honoring kind of the, the, the differences between the two with OHI Michigan, I don't feel like either are honoring anything. I feel like it's a he, it's you against us and that's all that matters this one day every year. And depending on the outcome, we're never going to Forget it for 364 days regardless of how well our team does in the playoff or even winning a national championship.
Dan Patrick
Michigan's an oh, by the way, what nine and two. I get. They don't feel threatening. But you know, in this game it doesn't. I mean, we've seen where better teams, better records, doesn't matter. How dangerous is Michigan in this game?
Brady Quinn
I think they're more dangerous than last year. I mean, they're playing at home. They've got a freshman quarterback who oozes with talent and ability and he started to develop chemistry with his freshman wide receiver, Andrew Marsh. McCauley's coming along. So the passing game has kind of seen more bright spots of late than, than bad spots. So I would say if you're looking at this matchup, after last year when I think Davis Warren through for like 60 yards and they're playing in Columbus, they were the biggest underdog they've ever been in this rivalry. Yeah. This year they've got a much better team and should have a better chance of imposing their will and doing what they do every single time these two teams have played over the last four years. Head into five years as Michigan's going to try to make you play this game in a phone booth. They're going to try to win the trenches. They're going to limit the amount of possessions Ohio State gets and they're going to try to eliminate guys like Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate and the big playability of this offense and say, we want you to try to run the football and be better than us. We're not going to let you win this game. Throwing to two of the best players in the entire country will be first round draft picks and we'll see if you can do it.
Dan Patrick
If he would answer, what would you ask Lane Kiffin today?
Brady Quinn
I would ask him what is the one determining factor in where he's going to go next? Like, what's the number one thing you are prioritizing most?
Dan Patrick
What do you think it is?
Brady Quinn
Wow. I'm not being offered a hundred million dollar contract reportedly, Dan. So I would say it's. It's hard for any human being to turn down what is generational wealth when you're offered that sort of opportunity.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but Omas says they're going to match that. So let's take money out of this. So then what, what does. Now it still comes down to money with nil and collectives, you know, the roster, all of that. But is this just. I can get more talent there. Is he going to fall, not fall victim to. But Brian Kelly couldn't win a national title, you know, in his mind at Notre Dame. So I'm going to LSU where I've got all of this talent. Is that what this comes down to? Is Lane Kiffin going to follow?
Brady Quinn
Yeah, I think if you look at that decision by Brian Kelly and in retrospect now you're kind of looking back on it like, well, that was kind of foolish. But I think there's a stark contrast between Lane Kiffin and Brian Kelly in the sense that like Lane Kiffin's willing to recruit. I mean, half the time he's driving around in a nice car with a recruit in the back. They're filming some sort of video. Brian Kelly didn't want to do that. And so if you look at what makes Lane successful at Ole Miss and what can make him successful at LSU or Florida, it's the fact that not only do you just really have to. I mean, you can recruit nationally for a number of players, but you don't have to go too far in that region or in that state before you're finding some of the best players in the country. So if it's not money and it really comes down to your best chance of winning a national championship, I think you'd have to look at the track record of LSU head coaches and say it's probably LSU then now is going to get messy. Of course, when you have a governor getting involved with the conversation around the head coach had that institution. But I do think if you look at the track record of Ed Orgeron, Les Miles, Nick Saban, if you're laying Kiffin and you're saying maybe we've hit our ceiling at Ole Miss, then LSU would be that next job that comes up and I feel like would give him the best chance to do so.
Dan Patrick
If USC could hire Lane Kiffin, do you think they would do that?
Brady Quinn
I don't. Well, let me ask you this. Over the last four years, all right, Lane Kiffin's record, I believe soft top of my head is like 39 and 11. He's got two on one in bowl games, never won a conference championship, and the highest he's finished in the polls is 11th. It's probably going to be different this year. If you look at Lincoln Riley's record, I think he's 34 and 17. Also two and one bowl games, high season, 12th in the final poll. How different really are they?
Dan Patrick
It was brought up to me last night by a college source saying, I'm.
Brady Quinn
Asking you the question, like, how different are they?
Dan Patrick
It feels like Lane overachieved and Lincoln underachieved.
Brady Quinn
But doesn't it take a job like a blue blood like SC then to determine whether someone over underachieves, like it's kind of all upside at Ole Miss unless you just completely flame out. And that's where if you go to an LSU and you're not meeting expectations or I'll even throw another job that he's not up for. But like Penn State. Penn State moved on from James Frank because they didn't feel like they could win the big game. So what's the next head coach going to be expected to do? Every top 10 game, every top five game, they're expected to win because. Because that's what you're brought in here to do. It wasn't to win 10, 11, you know, 12 games.
Dan Patrick
Did Penn State make a mistake, Brady? In retrospect, now you got to find somebody who's better than James Franklin.
Brady Quinn
Yeah, I would say one. The timing of it. Yes. I didn't feel like that was the right timing to move on from James Franklin, especially the way the team's playing now. They're obviously playing much more inspired football. Last two games they've won. And, you know, they were even close, you know, previously to that. But I just. It felt like it was a little early to throw in the towel, even though they were on a skid. And I think if you're going to move on from a guy like James Franklin, you better have that next guy, like, loaded, ready to go, and not be like, well, this is who our top target is. It's like, no, this should be, like, already done. And I understand there's a lot of ways that this needs to work, and that's probably not the proper way of doing it, which is one of the reasons why I think the timing was terrible. Like, they could have waited till they get to the end of the season. They could have waited to see how things played out. I mean, now it kind of looks like maybe you shouldn't have fired him after. If Matt Rule was your target.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. But you might be worried he's going to win and then keep his job. It felt like this was booster impatience. And they're like, you know, we're not going to. We got to start winning these games. We're not winning these games. And, you know, the shelf life for him at Penn State was expiring.
Brady Quinn
But isn't that the truth of what college football is right now?
Dan Patrick
Yes. Very impatient.
Brady Quinn
It's not run by. Well, it's not run by presidents and ads.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Brady Quinn
It's run by boosters.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Brady Quinn
I mean, when you're talking about who's ultimately funding these rosters, it's the rich guy who went to school there that wants to be a part of the process that partly played fantasy. And it's like, you know what? I think I can figure this stuff out. I watched enough, you know, whatever recruiting website and seeing the huddle highlights, and I think this kid's a really good player. So, you know, I'm put a bunch of money in Here. So that's essentially what this has become, has it not?
Dan Patrick
Talking to Brady Quinn. Big Noon kickoff. It'll be at the Big House at Ohio State Michigan. They start their coverage at 9am Eastern. Go to noon Eastern on Fox. I'm not going to name any names, but I was told that there is a school that's getting really good at stealing signs. Now, this isn't a Michigan Connor Stallions. This is actually somebody watching on the other sidelines and legally stealing signs. Have you heard about this?
Brady Quinn
Well, I had heard about this forever ago because even when you're a backup quarterback and you're on the sideline, you're trying to steal signals during a game. I mean, that's, that's part of the game. And ship. If, if I know that we can shift her motion as an offense to something and I can dictate or predict what your coverage is, of course you're going to steal every sign possible, whether it's from the sideline or from the player. You know, these defensive guys, not the sharpest tools in the shed. So usually they'll be somebody. Hey, you're like, oh, is that a T for two? Tampa? Oh, okay, great. Yeah, we've got you there. Or hey, we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna walk. Hey, walk it.
Advertisement Voice 2
Oh, oh.
Brady Quinn
So it. Because you're locking man to man on that guy. Gotcha. Like, of course we're going to use that to our advantage. Which, by the way, you know, the whole sign stealing thing with Connor Stallions in Michigan, to me was a Pandora's box that no one really wanted to open because there was a lot of teams doing it. I think since Connor Stallions has left and he's been more emboldened to talk about it, you know, he's trading this information with other teams and they were willing to trade with him.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Brady Quinn
I mean, it is probably the secret to college football that not many people want to address. It's one of the reasons why I think they needed to coach the quarterback communication probably a long time ago when they could have implemented it to eliminate some of the sign signaling, which would, would help. Right? If you're, you know, communicating it into your player, there really shouldn't be much signing going on unless you're playing up tempo or you get the line and you call play and, you know, you use a double cadence or something of that, you know, nature.
Dan Patrick
It feels like Andrew Luck is really, really close to being the head coach at Stanford. Like, this was almost a prep year for him. What do you think?
Brady Quinn
It's a big time commitment. You know, I don't know. Andrew personally obviously respect him a ton as a former player.
Dan Patrick
He's got time, doesn't he? What else is he doing?
Brady Quinn
Yeah, but, but, but I also think is being the general manager of Stanford's a huge investment of time too. And if you're trying to raise a family and you all these things going on, like, I don't know, do you, do you want to have to, you know, sacrifice essentially raising your kids to raise someone else's. That's what it feels like being a college football head coaches nowadays, when you include that you're not just coaching, you know, you're dealing with recruiting, you're dealing with talent evaluation, you're dealing with nil and fundraising and there's a lot of hats that college football head coaches wear that. Does he, does he need to invite that into his life? Does he want to? And also, I think there's always this thought too. If you go back to your alma mater and you coach there and everything's going to work out and it's going to be perfect. Well, once if he does and it doesn't work out and what happens if it flames out, that doesn't kind of tarnish his feelings about it or maybe how, how he's. Oh, I agree.
Dan Patrick
I never hire somebody you can't fire. And we've seen that with basketball with Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullen, Clyde Drexler going to bring somebody back and there's going to be that day that they go, it's just not working out here.
Brady Quinn
And I also think there's an element of thought that like, even though you need to understand the landscape that you're entering into as a head coach, if they're hiring you, it's because things weren't going well. And oftentimes you got to create some sort of change. And maybe you need the outside the box thinking that comes from someone else who's been somewhere else. Like right now, I don't know why Bob Chesney's not getting more interviews or discussion for a major power forehead coaching job. Like if we want to keep using Kurt Signetti and the turnaround they've been able to make in two years time and we're all trying to figure out, well, how they do it. It's like, well, the guy knows how to coach because he did it at lower levels with less resources and less talent, everything else, and he's been able to bring some of the players to Indiana, but also bring A lot of what he was able to do in prior years with lesser teams to have success on a higher level. Why are we looking at Bob Chesney? Like, why? Because he's just done the same exact thing to get to the point of James Madison, and he's continued on what Kurt Signetti did there. And yet, like, we're not hearing as much buzz about it. So. I don't know.
Dan Patrick
I think maybe Penn State. Maybe Penn State. Maybe Penn State.
Brady Quinn
Penn State would be a job that I think, you know, would make a lot of sense for, again, someone like Bob Chesney, someone like Jeff Monkin. You know, you want someone who's been able to build a program that's able to overachieve with less and. And those two guys, without a doubt, fall in that category. I know Army's not having as good of the year this year, but go back last year and the season that they had.
Dan Patrick
All right, I'll leave you with this. Is it better for the Chiefs or the Cowboys to win tomorrow?
Brady Quinn
Well, I mean, did the Chiefs really have much of an option just because of how much parity and how.
Dan Patrick
No, best for the NFL. Like the storyline. Storylines.
Brady Quinn
I. I think you'd say it's probably better for Dallas. Right? I mean, it. You get two storylines coming out of that. Everyone expects that the Chiefs are going to be in the mix. If they drop one, how many more can they afford to lose? And on the flip side, Dallas kind of getting back into that conversation. And also, it's the Dallas Cowboys. Like, Jerry Jones is probably going to say something wild out there. I mean, it could be about football, could be about Thanksgiving dinner. You know, maybe he's not a fan of the Thanksgiving meal. I don't know. Maybe you fall into that category. Maybe you're one of those, like, ah, it's not really for me. I eat turkey once a year unless it's on a sandwich, you know, so maybe it's not a Thanksgiving. Yeah, I don't know.
Dan Patrick
Safe travels. Are you gonna. You get booed when you go to Michigan, don't you?
Brady Quinn
Yes, there's a. There's a decent amount of booing. I let them know, though. You know, I only started one game back in 2005 in Michigan, and we made sure we got out of there with the victory.
Dan Patrick
So.
Brady Quinn
I know it's been a while, but, you know, a lot of these. A lot of these young cats don't know history, so it's the young kids that talk trash. The older fans are saying, yeah, you can't really say anything. And then Urban walks out there. They all boo him and they're just like, you can't really say anything to him either.
Dan Patrick
And Leiner and then the lighter walks out there.
Brady Quinn
He's like, yeah, we beat you when you played. You too. So you can't really say anything either. So there's, there really shouldn't be any trash talking. Yeah, but they're Michigan fans, so they're going to stick their nose up at you and they're going to make sure they talk down to you and act like you know, they won the national championship last season even though it was actually Ohio State.
Dan Patrick
Safe travels. Play nice.
Brady Quinn
Thank you. We'll do our best. Happy Thanksgiving.
Dan Patrick

Dan Patrick
Yeah. Chelsea. Yeah. Yeah.
Paulie
That's great.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Johnny in Pittsburgh. Good morning, Johnny. What's on your mind today?
Caller Jim
Happy Thanksgiving, boys. A six three and a husky. Save me the gizzard. 260. I have a stuffing tip burden stuffing tip for everybody and a Super bowl prediction behind the face for Seaton. But first, congratulations to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Perfect segue for winning the USL championship. Sorry, Seaton, by your Hartford. Would love to get your thoughts someday about the USL going to top. Top tier one and competing with mls. Is it good or bad for the sport? Okay, here's my stuffing tip. My father, my Italian father in law, diced up pepperoni and puts it in with the stuffing in the bird. So when it cooks, all the oil brininess of that pepperoni oozes through the stuffing. It's a game changer.
Dan Patrick
All right. Well, thank you, Johnny. I'm not a stuffing guy to begin with. Yes. Eaton kind of makes me feel like.
Paulie
I don't know if Johnny's still there to answer this, but it feels like the stuffing is just gonna taste like.
Dan Patrick
Pepperoni at that point. That's true.
Caller Jim
Is there anything wrong with that?
Ross Tucker
Yes, Paulie, I do my stuffing. Believe it or not, I make stuffing and it's just a light amount of Italian sausage in there for texture and taste. So in of that ilk.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Not a stuffing guy.
Ross Tucker
How come?
Dan Patrick
I don't know. Onions. Yeah, onions.
Paulie
Stuffing is possibly 1A if not 1B for me.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. The problem was. And Mom, I love you. God rest your soul.
Ross Tucker
Oh, boy.
Dan Patrick
We just. Turkey was dried out. Stuffing a little dried out. And granted, you know, she's trying to cook for six kids. It just. I don't know. Certain foods that I had when I was growing up. Up. And I kind of carried that with me. That's all. You know, she did the best she could. She did. Yes.
Brady Quinn
Marvin, is that why you're so big on the turkey being really great?
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Brady Quinn
Now, okay. Makes sense.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Yeah.
Jason McIntyre
Still not important, but go ahead.
Dan Patrick
Yes. When my wife made a turkey and I go, man, so that's how it's supposed to taste. But then my wife said, do not say that to your mom. And I go, no, I won't. It's Our secret here. Yes.
Paulie
So I think I had a bit of an opposite reaction to the way I had food growing up, because to me, if turkey is not completely dry, I don't like it.
Dan Patrick
Oh, so the tradition of it.
Paulie
Yeah, And I like it. No, yeah. Like, I. If it's, like, more wet. Yes.
Dan Patrick
Moist.
Paulie
Moist, thank you. That's the word I was looking for.
Jason McIntyre
I hate that word.
Paulie
Moist. I don't like it. It's gross to me. But if it's nice and dry and I could throw some gravy on there, perfect.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. But, you know, keep in mind, I didn't have seafood growing up. I had Mrs. Paul's fish sticks. I'd never had shrimp or any of that. And then that's when I met my wife, and she made a seafood pasta. Her mom did, and it changed my life because I was like, oh, my God. Like, wait, what is this with seafood pasta? Because they did ask me if I'd had seafood. I said, yeah, Mrs. Paul's fish sticks. And they thought I was joking, and then they realized I wasn't. But, man, my mom would go, oh, Danny, you never would have eaten it. And I go, I never had a chance. That's so funny. Oh, Danny.
Paulie
Yeah, you would have never eaten it anyway.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, that's funny. Yeah.
Ross Tucker
Paul, like you, Dan, I've dated Italian women. And did you go to the Christmas Eve shellfish dinner? You ever have that?
Dan Patrick
Oh, yeah.
Ross Tucker
That is monstrous.
Dan Patrick
We still have that.
Ross Tucker
That's underrated.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
Seven fishes.
Dan Patrick
Oh, yeah. Oh, let's go.
Ross Tucker
Eight fishes and whatever.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, there, it's. It's. You know, it's a feast when you. You have the Italians, and they're going to have something whether Christmas dinner, Easter, or Thanksgiving. Dan in la. Good morning, Dan. What's going. What's on your mind today?
Caller Jim
Hey, fellas.
Dan Patrick
Matching Buddha want to say happy? Thankful. We lost Dan, Jim and Dayton. Hi, Jim. What's on your mind today?
Caller Jim
Dan, I am part of your old blind guy demographic. Grew up listening to you on wTue. And I just wanted to say, like many of your listeners, you've helped me get through a really great period. I've been unemployed. Yesterday, I literally was listening to the show. I wanted to find out what did Todd learn and got the call for a job offer and had to mute the show. But it's just been great. And thank you so much.
Dan Patrick
Well, thank you, Jim. I hope you got the job.
Caller Jim
I did.
Dan Patrick
All right, round of applause for Jim. Happy employment. I don't know what Todd learned yesterday.
Ross Tucker
He was out pretty quick.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah. Todd's out today. He's in Amsterdam to see his daughter who's studying over there. Nobody is going to enjoy Amsterdam quite like toddlers. He is Mr. Amsterdam. You imagine him walking by?
Brady Quinn
No.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. The red. Red light district.
Ross Tucker
Yes.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Going into the coffee shops there as well. I hope he walks around and. And is able to appreciate Amsterdam. Yes.
Brady Quinn
Marvin, who's wasted more great trips than Fritzi?
Dan Patrick
Well, he doesn't like to leave his room.
Brady Quinn
That's what I'm saying.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I know, I know. And I had somebody yesterday saying, Fritz, he was joking about the curtains. I said, no, he was not. No, no, no. Everybody, I think, would agree. Fritz, he truly was fascinated by the curtains.
Paulie
Family Right now, it's like, all right, we're going to the Rijksmuseum, so. Okay, see you guys later. I'll be here. Let me know when dinner's ready.
Dan Patrick
