You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. It's our one on this Thursday. Ready to go. Glad to have you on board. If you're watching, if you're listening, if you're doing both, we say good morning. Todd is here, Marvin's here, Dylan is here. Paulie is here as well. And yours truly. Your phone calls always welcome. Operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your calls. Dylan will come up with a poll question or two. We'll talk to the Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd A little later on. Also, Golf Channel analyst Brando Shamblee on the life support that Live is on right now. Basketball last night, the Pistons survive. And you know, it's one of those games where Cade Cunningham acted like a number one pick overall. He acted like an MVP candidate. And Paolo Van Carol put up 45 as well. Cade Cunningham, even though you know that's the guy you got to stop, they didn't stop. And credit to Detroit. Magic still up 3 2. The Cavs over the Raptors. Cabs are up 3 2. I was all in on the Cavs last year. I just liked them. I like the story. It felt like that was a younger team coming together. This year I am not on their radar and they're having a little bit of trouble putting away the Raptors here. The Rockets over the Lakers. I'm still surprised. The Lakers are up 3 2. I know, with no Kevin Durant, but you don't have Luca Reeves came back last night, didn't play well, and the rockets down 3 2. So if you're looking for games coming up tonight, I got the Knicks favored by two and a half against the Hawks, the Celtics favored by five and a half against the Sixers. Man, Boston, you can't be goofing around here because Philadelphia is still a dangerous team, even though two of their best players aren't consistently healthy with Paul George and Joe lnb. The Nuggets are favored by five and a half against the Timberwolves. And then I've got point spreads for Friday night. The Pistons are favored by three and a half against Orlando, the Cavs three and a half against the Raptors, and the Lakers getting four and a half against the Rockets. I haven't seen any update on Kevin Durant and his ankle being able to come back, but if you're able to hold on, get to a seventh game, maybe you get Kevin Durant back. Austin Reeves last night looked like a guy who hadn't played in a little while. Didn't look good, didn't look comfortable. Still no Luca. And the report yesterday was, Luca, if the Lakers survive, probably wouldn't be back. And I look at these teams, and this is just filler for me, like, how many of these teams can win a title? Can the Rockets win a time? I mean, I know I have to give you at least a 1% chance. I can't say you have no chance. Can the Knicks win a title? I think they can go to the Eastern Conference finals. I think they could maybe go to the NBA Finals. Boston, I think, could. Well, I expect them to go to the NBA Finals, but I think they could, they could win it. Okc, of course. I think the spurs can get to the NBA Finals. They might be able to win it. I know we love to say a lot of times with teams, man, they're a year ahead of schedule. San Antonio doesn't feel that way. These players don't go, man, we're a year ahead of schedule. We're on scholarship here. Can the Lakers. No, I don't see that because you're not going to have Luca coming back. And even if you do, when he does come back, how long does it take him to get back up to, you know, all pro all, you know, first team NBA, Reeves, you're going to get more out of, you know, the longer you survive here. Who else? The Rockets? I don't see that happening. So there's not a lot of teams where you go, boy, they're like, can Orlando win? And the answer is no. Can Detroit? I think Detroit's still going to win the series. I just get that feeling. Orlando had its chance. Franz Wagner not in, didn't play it. It feels like Detroit is to slug this out and somehow make it to the next round.
Paulie
Yeah, Paulie, Denver isn't Denver of three years ago. But I wouldn't give them, I wouldn't put them in that no chance category.
Dan Patrick
No, no, I give them a chance. I just, I don't think they're, they're not on the level of San Antonio. And if Aaron Gordon isn't able to play at a high level and give credit to, you know, the Timberwolves, they played great defense here. The Nuggets scored 121 points per game during the regular season. They're down to 108. That would be 29. That would have ranked 29th in the regular season. And Rudy Gobert has done a wonderful job on joker. He is shooting 36% from the floor on 65 shots when matched up against Rudy Gobert. So Gobert has done his job and frustrated Joker. Joker did have a triple double this last game and with the injuries with Dante Dzo and Anthony Edwards, I expect the Nuggets to win this. But this is one of those, you know, Minnesota might get another star that appears or somebody who comes out of nowhere and puts up 43 and, you know, will knock you out. Stat of the day, brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. First hour, brought to you by Neutrophil. If your hair isn't playing like it did in your 20s. Dylan
I think the hat's an option, but I'd like to try out this neutrophil thing.
Dan Patrick
I want you to try it.
Dylan
Where do we have it?
Dan Patrick
Here. I can get it. I know people.
Dylan
I would. I would love some because.
Dan Patrick
Did you set a wedding date?
Dylan
Not yet.
Dan Patrick
Oh, okay. So you're just engaged. Yep. It'd be nice, you know, maybe full head of hair walking, you know, your wife down the aisle.
Dylan
Neutrophil and some steroids.
Dan Patrick
And maybe we could slim you up a little bit there.
Dylan
I'm thinking more go. Like, jacked.
Dan Patrick
Oh, you want to be jacked?
Dylan
Yeah. I've got the base for it. The canvas.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. But maybe. Maybe we freshen up the. The moss on top.
Dylan
It's either that or going to turkey, so I'd rather do the neutrophil route.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. This whole go to Turkey to get things done cosmetically, like, that's the go to place.
Dylan
Yeah. You see a guy with a bleeding head on the flight back. There's just a row of.
Dan Patrick
Yes, there are. You can see these guys who go over there for hair transplants, and then you'll see them on the plane, and they all have been there, and they all have bandages on their heads.
Dylan
They're all stapled together.
Dan Patrick
Or you got people who have had nose jobs over there. I don't know what else they're doing over there in Turkey, but probably breast enhancement, facial surgery, cosmetic surgery, facelift.
Dylan
Maybe they do breast reductions.
Dan Patrick
You need breast reduction.
Dylan
I mean, if I'm over there, may as well just throw the kitchen sink.
Dan Patrick
You know what was really bad yesterday? I was having lunch, and all of a sudden, Mario brings out a picture of him in Pittsburgh with big day Ray, and they have their shirts off.
Dylan
That was me and Mario with our shirts off. So even more unfortunate for.
Dan Patrick
Oh, we're at.
Dylan
We were at this bar that Todd likes to refer to as Hamburger Harry's. It was not, and it was. It had to have been, like, 88 degrees in there.
Dan Patrick
And you guys took off your shirts?
Dylan
Yeah, we made it about an hour until a guy who worked there walked up and he was like, guys, can you put your shirts on? It's a health code violation. And I asked him. I was like, if we were in good shape, would you have Told us to do that. And he was like. He just walked away.
Dan Patrick
Okay. That's why it's even more alarming at what I saw. I didn't even notice you in the picture. I noticed Mario and it. And it looked like he had a breast job. Oh, no, that. That didn't work out. He's got one up here and one down here.
Dylan
They call that a botch job.
Dan Patrick
Yes, yes. And I'm thinking, why would you, if you look like that, you would take your shirt off in a bar in Pittsburgh?
Dylan
Just moxie, Dan.
Dan Patrick
Oh, is that what it was?
Dylan
Just moxie?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. By the way, there is a soft drink known as Moxie. It's still in business and it's a kind of a Dr. Pepper. It's big in Maine.
Dylan
Really?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. You get moxie. I tried it. I think they have diet moxie too, but just throwing that out there as an aside. All right, poll question, first hour. What are we gonna go with here?
Dylan
Well, Dan, we got a couple. We've got some golf related ones. I don't know if you want to hold off on that or get those out into the ether.
Dan Patrick
How about we hold off on the live questions here?
Caller/Listener
Okay.
Dylan
Well, we could populate this one of the first round NBA series that are not done yet. Who's the most surprising so far?
Dan Patrick
Well, Orlando has to be up there because you're an eight seed against the number one seed and you might be bouncing. The Sixers are surprising me and it might be Boston surprising me, where I thought, okay, just put them away. Don't let these guys get some confidence. Momentum Embiid now. Kind of springy out there. Paul George, you know, I. Edgecom is really good. Maxi's really. I mean, they got talent, Grimes, so you just got to make sure you don't let them get squirrely again and take another game from you. But I, I would say Orlando surprising a lot of people because I'm guessing most people don't watch Orlando basketball, but now you're forced to. If you're, you know, looking at meaningful games, that probably be it. I don't know if there's any other really big surprise.
Dylan
Yes, Dylan, is it surprising that the Rockets are losing to the Lakers? Given the Lakers personnel a little bit?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, no Durant there. You would expect them to be up 3, 2 without your two best offensive players with Reeves and Doncic.
Paulie
Yeah, Paul, I was watching the first few minutes of Lakers Rockets and I don't know how it happened, but Reed shepherd, he's not a big guard. He was being covered by LeBron. The first couple minutes of the game, it felt like bring your kid to school day. He looked like a child compared to LeBron. You kind of forget how big he is and he's just checking him outside.
Dan Patrick
Play of the day will be coming up. Stat of the day. As always, we will dive into the live tour on life support here. And there had been whispers about this for quite some time. I'm just wondering if the Saudis have billions and billions and billions and you want to sports wash your reputation. Did you accomplish what you wanted to accomplish with the live tour? And I said from the outset, I mean, I watched the DP World Tour, I watched the lpga, I watched the PGA pros or the, the teachers, I don't know the official title. They're at Bandon, Dune. So the PGA Championship with actually golf instructors out there playing. And you know, I would watch the live tour. I just didn't understand why you go 54 holes and you get to wear shorts and play loud music and you have teams. I don't know who you were appealing to because DeChambeau is the only player that you actually tune in to see. Dustin Johnson used to be a great player. Jon Rahm is a great player. He's just not must see TV. DeChambeau is Patrick Reed. You may tune in just for attitude. Cam Smith, great putter. But really, you know, Koepka, when he defected and now Patrick Reed. And if you want to come back, it's going to cost you the value of coming back if they allow you to come back. Because I think they had a one time offer. You want to come back, this is what you have to do. And Koepka came back, agreed to what the stipulations were, and it's going to be around 50 to 70 million dollars with money that he could have earned, tournaments he could have played in. But he is back. And I mean, he's still a good player and people still like watching him. But I don't know if they're going to let these other players in. If you're the PGA Tour, you know, what kind of did you set your precedent and are you still Gonna, you want DeChambeau back? You want John Ron back? Patrick Reed is coming back. But after that, you know, where are these golfers gonna go? Are they going to play on the, the European Tour, the DP World Tour? So there's a lot of things attached to this. And I'll go back to the. There were some broadcasters with LIV who were kind of critiquing Criticizing mainstream media for celebrating the death of Liv. I'm not celebrating it, but I know that it was a rival league to take down the PGA Tour, and I didn't want that to happen. PGA Tour is ours. The live tour is not. It's not ours. And I wanted the PJ Tour to wake up and realize, spend the money. Make sure you take care of your players and listen to them, and don't treat this as a monopoly. Greg Norman did not want to make the PGA Tour better. Greg Norman wanted to bring down the PGA Tour. This has been a mission, a life's mission, for over 30 years. Well, it didn't work, but I will talk to Brando Chamblee about what did Liv accomplish? Did they accomplish what they wanted to accomplish? Yes, Dylan.
Dylan
Well, the money side of it's interesting, because that's not. It's not like they're like, oh, we're out of funds. Like, the. The PIF owns 8% of shares in Saudi Aramco, which is a $2 trillion company. They're not short on money at all. I think, you know, five years, nothing's really changed. It's probably gone actually downhill.
Dan Patrick
Well, they haven't gotten anybody in the last, what, three years?
Dylan
No. And then now you're trying to recruit outside capital to come in that. Why would you invest in a dying product if you're just, you know, whatever, a VC fund or something.
Dan Patrick
Well, but once again, I don't know. If money is not an issue, why not just continue it?
Dylan
Like, I think. I think they probably got bored in Saudi Arabia. I think the novelty probably wore off.
Dan Patrick
You know, maybe they accomplish what they wanted to. They're. They're trying to clean up their image, and they're trying to do this through sports. Maybe they did that. Maybe they accomplished what they wanted to. But 54 holes, loud music, and playing in your shorts? Sorry. I'd rather watch some of my friends play golf over the weekend, you know? Yes, Dylan.
Dylan
I mean, you can tell by the fact that they move back to 72 holes.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Dylan
They're like, maybe this was actually, you know, not too bad.
Dan Patrick
Well, they made it sound like, oh, my God, we're playing 54. And I go, that's stupid. Like, what golf fan goes, no, I don't need 18 more. Just 54. I'm good. It's silly, the music. Who cares? Hey, I get to see Phil Mickelson's Cavs. Hey, they're wearing shorts. Honey, come here. Yes, dude, he does have pretty nice cats. He does. He does. His calves are the size of Fritzi's biceps. It's pretty close there.
Todd
They're like bowling balls.
Dan Patrick
They are.
Todd
Calves stick out like that.
Dan Patrick
I know. All right, let me take a break. Let me take a break. 877-3DP show operator Tyler sitting by. You'll take your calls. We'll settle on a poll question once again. Jason Kidd of the Mavs coming up next hour. And Randall Chamblee Golf Channel will stop by as well. We're back after this. I knew you were gonna do it Todd. You're so predictable.
Todd
Live and Let Die.
Dan Patrick
I knew he was gonna send me the James Bond movie poster. This is. This is Roger Moore as James Bond.
Todd
Yes.
Dan Patrick
And the the movie is Live and Let Die, but it's L I V E Live and Let Die. So Todd has the new movie poster.
Todd
I wish I had the computer skills to like, you know, do it. I guess you could do a chat GPT and create your own poster with the current live golfers and take the E off the live.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Now there's a report on the mothership that with the Saudis out. They're trying to get a new executive board together to keep live alive, but they won't have the money. They won't have that backing. I don't know if an equity fund comes in, hedge fund people, and they want to continue because once again, you know, this is most of these events played outside the United States. I don't know what the cost would be to underwrite this, but I was told DeChambeau was looking for $500 million to stay because his contract was up. And I don't know what, what kind of money it would take to get these guys entertained, to stay. But then I don't know if they're trying their entrance strategy of coming back reentry for the PGA Tour, if they're even open to it.
Paulie
Yes, Paul, it appears to be changing rapidly. Mark Schlabov, ESPN and some others have a report this morning. The Saudi Arabia's public investment fund is pulling its funding after the 2026 live season, and their live golf is establishing a new independent board that has nothing to do with Saudi Arabia's public investment fund. No details on the future of next season or what.
Dan Patrick
Okay. I just don't know the money that's going to be available. But I also don't know what kind of, you know, roadblocks or stop signs that the PGA Tour is going to put up. But we'll talk to Brandon Sham Lee about it. You know, you start to think about these leagues, these rival leagues, and I go back to the USFL because I was knee deep in that. I remember going to press conferences at Trump Tower when Doug Flutie got signed, when they brought in Herschel Walker, the New Jersey Generals, they were getting real stars, kind of like the live tour. But you're getting Jim Kelly, Reggie White, Steve Young. You. You were getting. And I truly believe this. If the USFL had played a long game, they might have absorbed some of those teams, just like you had with the ABA and the NBA, because they were getting players. USFL had some players. You know, Michigan was a really good team. Generals were a good team. Steve Young, the LA Express. Now, not everybody was showing up to see these games. It's not like you're getting 60,000, but you did get the NFL's attention. I had to cover the trial with the USFL versus the NFL and they ended up getting a dollar, and then it was trebled. So they got $3 out of that. Like, we, we won. Well, how many millions did you get? We got $3. Yay. Yes.
Paulie
Paul, you almost have to look back, though, when the USFL, in 83, 84, 85, took their shot, the NFL was not the Goliath it is now. It's just like right before Dan Marino and Joe Montana took over, you know, baseball was probably the biggest sport in the country in 82, 83.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
So the USFL was like, let's, let's take their shot. But they went too far.
Dan Patrick
They just, they, they panicked. And then, and I think Donald Trump with New Jersey, he wanted Buffalo, he wanted the Bills. Now you have the generals hoping to get, like, kind of bulldoze your way into the NFL. But I think if they had played a little bit, maybe two or three more years, and if they got a couple more stars, then maybe you would have had some of those teams be absorbed by the NFL. Yes, Dylan?
Dylan
I actually didn't have anything to say, Dan.
Dan Patrick
But that's where you fake it.
Dylan
11.
Dan Patrick
Thank you. Yes, Paul?
Paulie
Well, these days, these new leagues like the ufl, they're not in competition at all with the NFL anymore. They, They've. They didn't. They don't even try that.
Dan Patrick
No, they're in conjunction with the NFL.
Paulie
Like a partner.
Dan Patrick
I don't know if, if you look at any of these sports, will there be a rival league that can come in with any of these sports that we're talking about? You know, got Formula One, nascar, soccer. Now you had that super league that they tried, that lasted for a couple of months, I think. But I don't know if there's any other sport where you say they're vulnerable for somebody to come in and create a rival league. Now, the PGA Tour could still be vulnerable here, but I, I just. There's no real attraction to that. There was no real audience. I, I like that they, their graphics, like they did some fun things. It was just. It was meaningless. Golf, you start with 54 holes. Now you've lost me. And I don't care about your team or your logos. I don't care about any of that. It's. Does this matter? And the answer is, no, it doesn't. Everybody gets money. Great. I want to see you earn your money. I want to see you earn your card. I want to see what happens when you're struggling. You go out there and play golf and, you know, it's like Lee Trevino used to say that he would bet more than he had in his pocket because he wanted that pressure. It was like, I'm betting 10, but I've only got five in. In my pocket. I like that those players go out There and earn and sometimes lose the opportunity to be a professional golfer. That's what we love. Like, does this mean anything? It's like watching spring training.
Caller/Listener
All right.
Dan Patrick
Nothing else on. Have a beer. I'll watch spring training. It doesn't mean anything. And that's what Liv was. It didn't mean anything. You know, there was no relegate. Well, they, they did have some relegation, which I liked it, but it was just. There's not enough attention with Liv. Yes, Dylan.
Dylan
I think they made it feel like an exhibition, which is like you said, like there's nothing there. Felt like there's no stakes at all. I mean, obviously there's, you know, a descending prize pool and stuff like that, but it's like they've already all signed these huge bonuses to join. So it's like you win $4 million for winning the live tournament. Whoopi, do you got $250 million to sign?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah, Paul.
Paulie
I think that's a big part of it. Like when you're watching a PGA Tour event, even like a medium sized one, if you see a guy who's kind of a mid level name win and you see him get a check for 1.5, you realize his appearance fee wasn't more than 1.5. It changes his life.
Dan Patrick
So, Brook, Brooks Koepka had to make a $5 million charitable contribution to a tour approved organization. He also lost access to the 2026 FedEx cup bonus money, sponsor exemptions. These are the $20 million signature events and any equity in the PGA Tour for five years. So based on his previous performance, the financial impact estimated to be between 50 and $85 million over that period. So Brooks Koepka got paid, but he is paying to get back on the PGA Tour. Yes, Todd.
Todd
Now, does this have to be the exact punishment, for lack of a better word, for any of the other live golfers, because a precedent was set. They have to stick to that or they're going to try to even come up with a harsher penalty for those that continued on.
Dan Patrick
No, they had a one time only. Like, if you wanted to come back, Koepka came back. Patrick Reed coming back. But I, I don't know if they're. I hope that they will reconsider that and let these guys come back and wear the scarlet letter and you make sure that you abide by what Brooks Koepka is doing now. These guys got paid. There should be a punishment for you trying to sabotage the PGA Tour.
Dylan
Yes, Dylan, and the, the PGA Tour has even more leverage than they did two weeks ago. So, I mean, there's the 11 guys who were part of the antitrust lawsuit against the PGA Tour, which is like DeChambeau, Phil, Ian Poulter, some of those guys, they're. They're in for a tough time, I think.
Dan Patrick
I would think so.
Dylan
Phil joining back the period would be. That's crazy.
Dan Patrick
That's not going to happen.
Dylan
No, it's not.
Dan Patrick
That's not going to happen. But DeChambeau, I mean, I hope he comes back. Still a draw, but I don't. I mean, John Rom's a great player, but I don't know if he's. Let's gather the kids and watch TV. But DeChambeau is. Although there's not many golfers where you go like Rory still, even Tiger playing in the, you know, his league that he formed with Rory, that's a TV show and people watch that. But I don't know if there's that many guys where you go, man, must see tv. I mean, for me, it is because I love the sport, but I don't. You're trying to get the casual. That's what was so magnanimous about Tiger. You had people who took up golf because of Tiger tuned in you. If you had an event on Tour, you were hoping Tiger was going to play in your event because you were guaranteed you were going to get ratings throughout the weekend. All right, some phone calls here, but I don't know if. Is there a winner? I guess the PGA Tour is a winner. Yeah. Paulie.
Paulie
Two winners, future golfers. Because the purses now are more than double what they were five years ago for golf events. I would say that Rory McElroy was the big winner because I think he's the most popular golfer definitely in America, and he's not American. And a lot of his based on not just being a likable guy and winning, but he stood up to the live tour and passed on tons of money and that he's emeritus.
Dan Patrick
Yep, he's emeritus. Yeah. Rich in Ohio. Hi, Rich. What's on your mind today?
Caller/Listener
Hey, Dan. I just got a couple of things. So the first thing is, is you. You just asked if the penalty for live guys trying to come back to the PGA would be more harsh than Brooks Koepka. Actually just saw an article this morning saying that it absolutely would be. I don't know the exact details of that, but it is definitely something that they're going to impose. Then the second thing was. I'm not. I'm not sure. Are you guys aware of, like, the YouTube golf scene and what's kind of going on there and how it's taken off.
Dan Patrick
You mean DeChambeaus videos?
Caller/Listener
Well, DeChambeau and then there's some other guys. So there's a guy named Wesley Brian who used to play on the tour and it's actually one and they have their own channel and they collab with a bunch of other guys and it's really taken off and they're starting like their own kind of mini tour. And I just feel like the. The timing of live was just bad because YouTube Golf started taking off and maybe owning some of that space where wanted to see golf but get a little more personal and how these professionals or high level golfers act when they're just kind of playing golf. So Liv was supposed to be like an alternate to the pga, but no one really enjoyed that as much as they just did YouTube golf if they weren't going to watch the PGA.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, we had the Brian brothers on a while ago and you know, this kind of a grassroots thing that they're doing, which is great. And DeChambeau has done a really good job with his YouTube videos where he's playing with different celebrities. I know he played with President Trump, you know, trying to see who can shoot the lowest, you know, scores in the 50s or something. But yeah, I can see that. I don't know what he's making from that, but be great if he was able, you know, to come back and play on the PGA Tour. Now if you want a major, I mean, you can come back and play in the majors, but to get the tour full and having that drawing power, it'd be great for some of these guys to be able to come back. Dylan in Denver. Hey, Dylan.
Caller/Listener
Hey, Dan. First time, long time. 58160 I just wanted to call and you guys were talking a couple minutes ago about which major league sports league is most vulnerable. And I think the MLS has got a big competitor in the usl. They're going to start doing promotion and relegation here in a couple years and that really is popular among soccer fans both here and abroad.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I could see that. Seaton's talked about that as well. I like the relegation aspect of sports where this means everything. And certainly in the Premier League like these towns where they have their team and it means, you know, the amount of revenue by being in the Premier League and then you get relegated. Devastating.
Paulie
Yeah, Paulie, like right now in the Premier League, Tottenham, who is usually a quality squad, they're usually a decent team. They're in that Relegation zone. And it's one of the bigger stories in European sports.
Dan Patrick
The Spurs.
Paulie
Your Spurs.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, my Spurs. Isn't Steve Nash a big spurs fan?
Paulie
Former home of Harry Kane.
Dan Patrick
Harry Kane. Let's see. Josh in West Virginia. Hi, Josh. What's going on?
Caller/Listener
Hey, man. 63 with a soft 245.
Dan Patrick
Soft.
Caller/Listener
All right, man. You know, it pains me to say this, Dan. I see. Can't stand the guy, but after watching last night, I can no longer deny that Michael Jordan is clearly the Goat. I mean, I love watching LeBron pray. He was one of my favorite players.
Dan Patrick
Wait, wait. What happened last night? Like, you just decided that Mike's the greatest of all time?
Caller/Listener
Yeah, because if Mike played last night, he would have put the Walkers away, and it just. That killer mentality. And I'm watching highlights. It's just he's different. And I, I could, Like I said, I can no longer deny that he's the Goat.
Dan Patrick
Mike wouldn't have been playing in his 40s. We saw what he was like with the Wizards. LeBron is still playing at a high level in his 40s. So Mike wouldn't have eliminated the Rockets last night if he's 42 years of age. So let. Mike didn't win every series. Mike didn't make every shot. No, he didn't. Yes, Marvin.
Marvin
Mike didn't make the playoffs with the wizards at age 39 and 40.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I, I mean, let's just be. I, I don't like the argument, but thank you, Josh, for bringing it up. I don't think I'd have an epiphany after watching last night and go, you know what? That's it. Michael's now the greatest. Why? Because he would have eliminated the Rockets. Okay, I don't believe that for a second. I'll go back and say what I always say. LeBron, you can make the argument, has the greatest resume of any NBA player in history. Greatest player is Michael Jordan. That's it. All done. That's it.
Paulie
It's all semantics.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, it's, it's done.
Todd
Right?
Marvin
Don't call us about that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. I, I, I appreciate what LeBron has done. I don't think it's appreciated enough because, like, I feel like LeBron, when he picked number 23, all of a sudden you're saying, I want to be compared to him. Kobe went the different round. He was like, you're 23. I want to be 24. I'm going to be 8. He was like, no, no, no, I, I'm not. I want to be better than you. LeBron already put this in motion when you had the number 23. Now, you do that as a tribute, but then you get to the point where people think you're infringing on their childhood. Hey, he's not as good as Mike. He's different than Mike. He's more magic than Mike, but not Magic Mike. Oh, because that's Chad Tatum. Yes. I caught my wife watching Magic Mike recently. Yes. Yes. And so she's in the basement now. I come back down. I left my iPad down there, and all of a sudden the music's a little louder or the, you know, the tv's a little louder, and I go, what do you want? Oh, come on. Yes. Dylan, be honest.
Dylan
That's the first movie you finished in a while.
Dan Patrick
I didn't watch it. No.
Dylan
Not even a little bit?
Dan Patrick
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Dylan
Did you feel anything?
Paulie
Who's seen Magic Mike?
Dylan
I haven't seen part of Magic Mike. I've only seen part. Not the whole thing.
Dan Patrick
Penelope Cruz or Selma Hayek in, like, Magic Mike 3? 3.
Dylan
I think I knew there was two. Is there a third one?
Dan Patrick
I think there's xl.
Marvin
Yeah, there is.
Paulie
Unanswered questions.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Todd
Todd, Salma Hayek, Magic Mike, Last Dance.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Todd
Magic Mike's last Dance.
Dan Patrick
I always get those two mixed up, and they're. They're both beautiful, but Penelope Cruz and Selma Hayek. Yes. Paul.
Paulie
Is it like the Godfather? The first two are classics and the third was disappointing. Is it like that?
Dan Patrick
I don't know. I didn't see the first two or the last one.
Paulie
I didn't see any of the Magic Mikes.
Dan Patrick
Oh, yeah, I didn't either. All right, let me take a break. Play of the day next. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows@foxsportsradio.com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to listen live.

they're headed to the second round. Case was out in front.
Dan Patrick
And the players start the party in South Philadelphia. That's a different octave. That's courtesy of the Flyers radio network. That's your Play of the Day. Play of the Day brought to you by. Dude. Dude wipes. Wetter is better available at Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dude wipes Best clean. Pants down. I did watch a lot of the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay. My good buddy Steve Levy on the call with TJ Oshi. And I thought it was going to get chippy. I mean, Montreal ended up winning, but I was watching playoff hockey. Can't go wrong. So I was flipping back and forth, Flyers and the Penguins because I thought, man, if Sidney Crosby can force a Game 7. But Philly had great goaltending, ended up winning it. Yes, Marv.
Marvin
With the Flyers and Penguins. And this is a legit question, because I'm not. Not a hockey guy. What's the most intense rivalry in the NHL? Is it like one of those original six teams or is it Penguins, Flyers? I'm not sure.
Dan Patrick
Well, that's always. Because that's in state. I don't know. Boston and Montreal, they don't like each other. Yes. Dill.
Dylan
I was going to say Canadians. Bruins. Probably their historic wise.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Rangers, Islanders.
Dylan
Rangers, Islanders.
Dan Patrick
Boy, when I got to New York in the early 80s, and that was because the Islanders were great and that's. That was a, you know, dynasty. But Blackhawks, Red Wings, they don't like each other. Yeah, Paul.
Paulie
Mighty Ducks, Sharks. Always was big in my household as a kid.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
It was go time.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right, fair enough. David in Ohio. Hi, David. What's on your mind today?
Caller/Listener
Hey, Dan. Dylan. Congratulations. I heard you were getting married, so congrats on that. For entertainment purposes, I thought it'd be kind of funny if she might be a groomsman. And maybe you could wear like a shot collar or something on your leg during the wedding or ceremony there. So. Thank you.
Dan Patrick
All right. Thank you, David. I don't know who's going to be invited to your wedding.
Dylan
Everyone. You're not going to come, are you?
Dan Patrick
Where's it going to be?
Dylan
Probably Ibiza.
Dan Patrick
Oh, don't do it. No wedding.
Dylan
No, I think it'll be in Mystic, Connecticut.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Convenient, open bar.
Dylan
Yeah, I'm not an animal.
Dan Patrick
Okay. I'm just saying, that is like the one requirement. How about a seafood tower?
Dylan
I mean, naturally.
Dan Patrick
We're actually thinking.
Dylan
We talked about it. I was thinking about going. No, like, you don't like, pick steak or salmon. Just skip that entirely and kind of like pizza truck, raw Bar, just like, kind of like the hors d' oeuvre portion, but it just have it extended so people can kind of just go up and eat when they please. Okay, that's been done.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. DJ or band?
Dylan
I feel like I would like to go live. Band.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Dylan
I'm not, you know, DJ's fine, but the band's kind. Band brings another vibe.
Dan Patrick
Like, you know, now we're doing destination bachelor parties, destination weddings. Well, my daughter. I got a destination wedding and I'm like, oh, my God.
Dylan
Yeah, it's in it. You have to go to Italy from Thursday to Sunday.
Dan Patrick
No, I have to go cross country to cry. Like, can't I just cry? You know, locally you can. No, because I have to go out there for the wedding.
Dylan
Is it all the way out west?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, it's all. Yeah. Yes.
Marvin
Mormon Dylan, are you getting married before the show ends?
Dylan
Yeah, maybe. Or probably be kind of around that time, I would think. Obviously, we haven't planned that yet, but I mean, maybe the Monday after the super bowl,
Paulie
you'll be down like three grand.
Todd
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Then I won't be there.
Dylan
Turns out we're having a dj. There's no open bar and there's no food at all.
Paulie
Yes, Paul, Band is really costly in comparison to dj. That would be your biggest cause one of your biggest costs.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Something about having a band there. It's pretty good.
Dylan
I've been to both or like, you know, with band and dj. The band. The vibe of the band definitely changes things.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. By the way, gambling podcast later on today with Dylan, Bad Larry and Shayan Irving. I think our buddy Sammy P. Professional gambler, is going to stop by as well. And that'll be available. DanPatrick.com by the way, Todd talks new episode. Oh, my goodness. There's a lot to unpack with Todd. The Todd cast, pretty incredible. That's when you say something toddler.
Todd
I say, I appreciate that, but I was. I was concerned you were going to be like that. It goes a little too over the rails or something.
Dan Patrick
It did.
Todd
That may have upset you, which I don't know what that would be, but hopefully it's entertaining. I know it's a lot of words and a lot of all over the place.
Dan Patrick
40 minutes, it's basically Todd on a couch talking to his therapist.
Todd
Dylan brings out the. Brings that out in me. And Marvin and Mario and Ray are in the room and it just. All of a sudden I get really loose.
Dylan
I guess.
Dan Patrick
You love to perform.
Todd
I do love to perform, but I also, you know, some of the episodes I addressed some things that I wasn't planning on sharing or that would might be uncomfortable to listen to. Certainly was to share.
Dan Patrick
I don't know if there is a topic that you don't want to share about. Not after this episode. It's available@danpatrick.com not safe for work, by the way, or if your kids are around. All right, one hour in the books. Jason Kidd of the Mavericks will join us coming up next.
