All right, let's do this. Good morning. We're here. What's up, buddy? Covino and Rich. Day one of the Dan Patrick hat trick, which means. Oh, man, three in a row. Three days of your favorite bozos, Covino and Rich. Normally Monday through Friday, 2 to 4 on the west, 5 to 7pm on the east. But when they say, hey, you want to do the hat trick? Want to fill in for dp? We say yes. And it's not just us. We brought the whole team with us. Super producing Danny G on the xylophones today, Iowa Samuel. Great to see Iowa Sam with us today, spots on the videos if you guys want to play along at home or in your car or at the office at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Hope you had a great weekend. A Rory McElroy sort of weekend. A Cavino and Rich sort of weekend. Had a great weekend. Yeah, we had a great weekend. Yeah. I was just thinking about it. I'm going to tell you all about it here on the show again, brought to you by tirerack.com, the official Tire expert and retailer of the Dan Patrick Show. Good. Go to TireRack.com Dan. Try the Tire decision guide and see the full line of Goodyear tires, special offers, free road hazard protection and mobile tire installation. Tirerack.com Tire buying should be. I feel like Danny was getting tired of playing the xylophone. Yeah, I know he traded off with Sam there. So lots coming up on today's show. Giving away prizes. Today we're going to play last one Standing. We're going to talk about the last of us, perhaps whatever you do this weekend. I started last night. We had such a long, busy weekend. I started last night and I started falling asleep. Not because it wasn't good. I was actually reminded of how good that show was. But season two of the Last of Us premiered last night on HBO Max. And it's been like five years since we saw the first season time hop in the show, too. Yeah, they time up five years but had a busy weekend. Hope you enjoyed yours. It's spring break now for the kitties out here on the west side in Los Angeles. So let's enjoy the week. Let's get it going. Try the less traffic. Yeah. Less traffic, but exciting always to be here. And like I said, we're giving away prizes. We're going to talk Isaiah Thomas and LeBron. We have a two prong LeBron thought to share with you. Did I lose my man card over the weekend? We'll explain. There's a rule CNR on FSR rule that every man has to live by. Did I lose my card? I think he might have. Plus Paige Sporaneck, well, she's got a theory that I, I think we could all get behind. Yeah, I'll explain. So we're not necessarily going to talk Rory McElroy, but we are going to talk Masters in golf. Something that Paige Sporanex said about it. But we just came back from Sacktown. My own town, man. Stephen Anthony Covino's town. The real Stephen A's town. Sacramento. Sacramento, where you at? We just came back from Sacramento and had a blast. As I said to Covino, if we hadn't taken this trip, thanks to our buddy Jaime who was like, hey, your Mets are playing up here. When it comes to the Mets A's, I don't know if I've ever would have went to Sacramento in my life. I mean you don't know that. We are now syndicated in Sacramento, so our show is on every afternoon and right now in Sacramento. So how do you know they wouldn't say, hey, come down here and broadcast live? They already did. Remember they asked us to come to the brew fest. You know it is further than you realize though, from Los Angeles to judge a hot dog eating contest. Hey, why not? Why wouldn't I go out there? So I wouldn't say never. That's a wild statement to make, but ironically. What? We've been out here over 15 years. I've been out in Los Angeles, never been to Sacramento unless you're a Kings fan. Unless you're going to see the state capitol with your kid on a field trip or something. There are reasons which we saw. We found our way up to Sacramento, California for the Mets A's, our buddies, like, hey, get your plane tickets, quick flight from LA. Like 50 minutes, 55 minutes there. Spent the day 55 minutes back. So we spent our Sunday our yesterday in Sacramento watching the Mets beat the A's who are just stinking like Abe Lincoln. You have to imagine Abe Lincoln probably had some stank. Stank? I mean it was the 1800s. They showered like once a month. Yeah, with the stick, right? They put like a little cloth on a stick. I mean that was Spartacus, but in Spartacus that's how they used to wipe their butts. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Put a leaf on a stick. Yeah. Focus, focus. That's not comfortable. So Rich's theory is this. We were in Sacramento. I don't even want to harp on this because the most ridiculous thing I ever heard Rich was saying, you know, chances are, hadn't the Mets played here, we would have never been in Sacramento. I don't know about that. That's Rich's theory. But then he was like, sort of having an edible moment, even though he wasn't on any. He was like, just take a look around, man. We would have never seen this place. There's so much world. We would have never seen these people, they would have never existed hadn't we come today. I'm like, no, pretty sure they're still existing. It's strange, though, because it is the capital of California. To say you would never go to the Capitol is kind of strange. Yeah. He's like, all these people, like, we would have never seen them. There was a place. I'm like, dude, we're on the air in Sacramento. There was a place on Mars right next to where the Kings play. And it was called Punch Bowl Social. It was like a bar that. A little bowling alley, video games. Kind of like a more adult Dave and Buster sort of type, like sports bar activities games. And we had a couple hours to kill after the game before our flight. So we went, we bowled and had a couple. A whole story in itself. Had a couple drinks and some apps. And that's where I had the thought of. Look around, dude. Look at this. All these families wearing their Sacramento Kings gear. There's a whole world in Sacramento, a whole scene going on that you would have never known existed had you not come here. And that's just so indicative of the world. And we all have those friends or family members that never leave their hometown. So all they know, they have no perspective is their little pocket. Yeah, they know nothing. We have friends and family members like that who never leave their hometown. That's what Pee Wee Herman did. Remember that in Pee Wee's last Netflix movie, he never left the parameters of his own town, his hometown. Joe Manganiello was like, you gotta see the world. Because when you don't travel and you don't go out and meet people and see the other scenes that you describe. Rich, what perspective do you really have? But that perspectives all relative, because there's an Anthony Bourdain out there who travels the world and he thinks your perspective is weak. And then there's an astronaut who thinks Anthony Bourdain's perspective was weak. You know what I mean? Like, it's all relative to the size of your steeple. But it was nice to be out there, even though I was listening to Rich try to explain how mind blasted he was. That like, look at all these Kings fans. I think that's what blew you away. Like, they just made the play in tournament. They're proud. They must be pumped. All these Kings fans and now the A's around here. Look at this scene. You know what? You have that feeling in your own neck of the woods sometimes. Like you'll see a place. It could be some like weird looking hall or a weird restaurant. And you're like, who goes in there? And if you ever stumble in there, you walk in like, wow, this place is packed. I didn't think anyone came here. How did I not know about this scene? Or when my daughter got into cross country running? Like, all of a sudden you're like, wow, this is a scene. There's so many like undiscovered scenes. You just got your head up your ass. That's what I'm saying. And I think either you or someone in your family or one of your closest friends. Yeah, my daughter's a cheerleader now. So now guess what? I'm in all these gymnasiums. Like, man, what a scene. I didn't know this was going on every Saturday, Sunday afternoon. What a scene. It's like the awareness theory when you. When you become a parent. Exactly. And then you realize, you look around, you're like, oh my God, there's a lot of people with strollers. Then you, you enter a world of cartoons and kids stuff that the little kids see. Oh my God, they got jacked for an $800 stroller too. Yeah, exactly. So they suckas. If you're reading or trying your hardest to read between. This is more of like, again, a stoner's thought. Sacramento was quite the scene. It really was. It was a beautiful day. Everybody was enjoying having the A's there again at a minor league ballpark. Can I tell you the hospitality? Danny G Was next level courteous, beautiful, in fact. Just a bunch of old people welcoming you into the stadium. And the ballpark vibe of it all. You're like, this is a nice scene. It felt like you would have never known of. Felt like spring training. It did. And it was a bunch of like really old grandpas. Hey, welcome to the stadium, young fella. Hey, hey, where are you sitting? You know what? Come with me. Right this way. Hey, we have free cookies. Thanks for being here. Like, they really appreciated you being there at the ballpark. And they were really happy to welcome the A's and the Mets. I'll tell you what, I was hearing rumors, guys, look, we're baseball fans. I'll tell you, man. One time I showed the Babe, like, man, how old are you, Ebenezer? So there's a rumor that the A's aren't necessarily sold on Las Vegas, that Sacramento is very welcoming of this. And Hank. And Hank and vip, they heard from the grapevine, George and Sam and all these old guys. There's a good chance you may stay, you know. Yeah. Because you guys seem real happy to have the A's. But in other words, long story short here is that it was quite the scene. If you have any thoughts on that, Rich. Yeah, just please let me know. My thought is this. There's 29 other baseball teams. If you're a fan of one of them and you're looking for a fun little adventure couple days away, go see your team play in Sacramento against the Athletics. Oh, you're not going to get up and closer. You will not be disappointed. You will not be disappointed at all. It is the most accessible small feel. You know, just go to our Instagram at Covino and Rich, we were sitting right behind home plate. I felt like Francisco Lindor and Peter Alonso were. I feel like we're chit chatting with. With them while they're on the on deck circle in between innings before the game. Everything about it seemed like it had that spring training vibe where, well, the players are just like right there. Well, it's home of the River Cats. What is it? Was the stadium. Sutter Health park, something like that, right? Sutter Health Park. Beautiful ballpark, but Rich nailed it. It's a minor league stadium. A lot of big stars came through there. But I got to say, if you have. If you're one of those people that say, you know, maybe once a year or so I like to travel to go see my team, like Danny. If the Dodgers go up there at any point this year, if it falls on like a weekend or some something that makes sense, I promise you, you would not be disappointed even if you took the road trip up there it is. The access is unbelievable. And again, we might be stating the obvious to a lot of people. This is a big show nationwide. How many people have been up to Sacramento so far? No, I get it, but there's a lot of people that go to minor league ball games and ballparks all the time. This is a triple A affiliate, the River Cats. So that might be your scene. Anyway, it's such an intimate setting that it's almost like. It's almost like it's easy to get on tv. Danny. And that's where I'm going. And Danny G. The most intimate I'd ever been. Whoa. At a ballpark. Whoa. Whoa, boy. This is for the podcast, not National Airport, probably at Camden Yards, because you really have that ballpark feel, and it really feels like a. Like a different type of atmosphere when you're there in Baltimore. But, man, this was a great time. It was a beautiful day. Rich was right there talking to Juan Soto. We were three rows behind home plate. Yo, Juan. Yeah. You know, I brought a Twinkie for you. And let me tell you a quick story about Covino and Rich. Now, we've been doing radio for a long time, and part of our radio experience, we were. We were part of Maxim radio for a long time. Maxim magazine, which encompassed sports and relationships and lifestyle and all that stuff. You guys remember magazines, right? I was gonna say. What's that? So Maxim radio, which was on Sirius and SiriusXM, remember when. Remember people would have Maxim magazines in, like, their dorm room? Yeah, you have a pile on your coffee table. Of course. Who forgot? Young kid, young dudes now have no clue of the culture of having, like, a Sports Illustrated, a Maxim, a Stuff magazine. Like, all the. That magazine culture of, like, the 90s and 2000s is so far gone. I mean, Vita Guerra in FHM sort of changed my life. I mean, at least a decade of it. Magazine culture is gone. Remember, you go to the doctor's office and you have, like, Highlights magazine. I mean, I still read Highlights magazine. I'm a master of the hidden pictures. But anyway, I'm trying to make a point. What? Do you miss tv? God, no. My goodness. Is the caffeine setting in already on you? By the way, that's Rich Davis. I'm Covino again. Good morning. Now, when we were on Maxim radio, we were just on the radio. This is before, like, social media and video was a part of it. Maybe YouTube videos. That's about it. But not even really. But not even really. But we would talk about, hey, we're going to the All Star Game, and, hey, we're going to this baseball event. Hey, we're doing this. So for years, our mission was to get on TV A. Because it was our way of getting on TV on espn, but mostly just something for our listeners to have fun with. Just like a goofy experience. Hey, we're Going to be at the Home Run Derby. Look out for us. We're going to try to get on tv. And we got on TV five, six years in a row, courtesy of All Star Weekend or Home Run Derby and that sort of thing. And what we would do to get noticed is the Bushwhacker. Now, what is the Bushwhacker? Right. Luke and Butch, the wrestlers. Right? The Bushwhackers. Remember, they would come down the aisle. Rich, do your best. Finkel. Coming down the aisle. The Bushwhackers, the two buffoons from New Zealand that were very, very special. So to include our listeners in on the fun, like, hey, we're going to be at the All Star Game. Look out for us. We would do the Bushwhacker dance in the stands. So anytime a home run was hit in that area, you would see us. We made it onto TV5, six years in a row at the All Star Game and Home Run Derby and everything else. Doing the Bushwacker throughout the years, doing the Bushwhacker. Now, if you don't believe us when you're doing the bowl, scroll later on or when you have a break later on, just search Covino and rich bushwhackers on YouTube. Covino and Rich, C O V I N O. Year after year, Home Run Derby. See all these random videos of us having the time of our life. Because it's so dumb. Because, like, we're on TV now. Here's the funny. We're on the big screen at the stadium, which is the greatest thrill ever. Here's the funniest part. Fast forward. We end up having a TV show on sny. Then we were on ESPN for years, and I still had more of a thrill. Yes. Trying to get on TV in the crowd than actually when we hosted our own show. Yeah. Our goal to our listeners and our friends was like, we're gonna try to get on TV any way. How it's a different challenge. Like, if I told you, hey, you're gonna be on TV tonight. That's a given. Makes it fun. But if I told you, you go to a game tonight, try to get on tv, and then all your friends are like, oh, I see him, I see him. It's more of a challenge. It's fun. So, yeah, like Rich said, we had a TV show every night on. Not even a thrill. Not even close to this thrill, because it was, you know, just a fun sort of electric moment. So I am proud to say that when we were in Sacramento yesterday at River Cats, Triple A affiliate, the stadium where The Giants play, and now the A's are playing. It was such a small atmosphere, such a small little scene in Ballpark. And Rich and I were so close behind home plate. We were like, we got to try to get on tv. And we came, we saw, we conquered, and it's the return of the Bushwhackers, everybody. Whoa. So, yay. Dude, we haven't done the Bushwhackers on TV at a ball game in, like, 10 plus years. So it looked retro. Daddy. I called my wife, and my wife goes, it's the bottom of the third. Who are those bozos behind home plate? My wife said, they do. My kids were watching us. I said, yeah, Daddy. Daddy's gonna be sitting right behind home plate. So if you put on the Mets game, you might see me and Steve, and my wife's like, no one I think's blocking you. We were sitting behind the graphic. The graphic. The scoreboard graphic. So towards the end of the game, I was like, we gotta move. We gotta move seats just to do. We posted it ovenonrich. We were the guys doing the. Whoa. Yeah. So we didn't sneak down. Those were our seats. We just moved more to the left just to get on tv, because we weren't really in the shot. And we did it, and it made our friends laugh. And like Rich said, that made more impact in our lives than having an actual TV show. And we say that respectfully and honestly. Yeah, it was so funny. It's the dumb challenge of it. If I told you, hey, you're gonna, you know, you're gonna do this. That's a. That's a given. If I said, here's a challenge, you know, here's a challenge. You could see this on our social media. You guys had way more viewers at the baseball game, too. Oh, yeah, I bet. Yeah. More people were tuning in to see that yesterday. So, again, Covino and Rich to play along at home. But you could also see our montage of our time in Sacramento. And again, mission accomplished. Can I give you another? You made it onto tv. Another example of when getting on TV by design, not by design. Getting on TV as a challenge is always more thrilling. You're getting in on the background of a newscast, like, or a local report. Like, if you could try to get in there like you're Beavis and Butthead, that was so much more fun than, oh, you actually are on tv, because you're, like, hosting something. I'll give you another example. My mom and sister were out here visiting me in Los Angeles, and I Took my mother and sister to a taping of the Price is Right. And I said, oh, I don't care if I get called down to contestants row. In fact, I probably won't. The people that get called down there have, like, I love Drew Carey shirts. And, like, they have, like, crazy stories like, I came here from Iowa. You have Drew Carey. So I'm like, you know what I'm going to do if anyone around me gets picked to go to contestants row? I'm going to run to them and start hugging and jumping on them like I know them. And you better believe I did. Some guy in your. There was a guy behind me, some big. He was a big, sassy gay dude. And he gets called and he's like, yeah. He starts flipping out. I go, hold on. I tell. I step away from him. Mother and sister. I run like two rows away like, he's your boy. I start hugging and jumping with this guy as if he's my best friend. We did it. And then, of course, I'm like, hey, guys, guess who's on. The press is right. So the point is, I think those moments are more fun than designed moments. So, honestly, I know it sounds lame, guys. I'm smiling ear to ear thinking about it, because for years, that was our mission. And at that time, too, we thought we belonged on espn. That was our way of getting on. We wanted to make our listeners laugh. It was a challenge. It was fun. So for years, that was our thing. We brought it back yesterday. I think that stuff is always fun just to remind ourselves of how fun it was. It really was. How many times will your friend be like, yo, tonight, turn on the news. Like, I was the idiot they interviewed outside the. Outside the basketball arena. Those, like, little news clips for me just have such a stupid impact because it's always like an inside joke with you and your buds. Now, while we were at the game, taking it all in again, thanks to the hospitality and our buddy Jaime that got us the tickets. But again, it's the Triple A affiliate of the Giants. The Sutter Health Ballpark A's got a nice thing going on there, even though they stink to the high heavens. The Mets eventually blew them out and had their way. While we were there. We had to take a break because it was so hot. And we had a people watch and get some food. And we were inside just watching TV, watching the Masters, and we saw, man, Rory McElroy. Congrats. That's awesome. Yeah. Hey, is that his first one? It is, right? Yeah, that's his first one. And he's there, super emotional, taking it all in. Great weekend of sports. And I'm looking at my phone, I'm seeing everyone freaking out about his win and people commenting. You go automatically anytime there's an earthquake or a major event or something weird happens or Chris Rock gets slapped, you go to social media, you go to Twitter. And I saw something Paige Spranek said about the Masters event. And you know, she's a golf influencer that's been on this show before and I want to share it with you. It involves your cell phone and the big mistake we're all making. I agree with her tweet. Covino's got it. We'll go over it next. Plus, of course, we'll talk a lot of NBA. The NBA wrapped up yesterday. So all that and more in for our pal, the great Dan Patrick Kavino and Rich right here on Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows@foxsportsradio.com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to listen live. Hey, Steve Covino. And rapidly changing economic policies. They affect all of us to one degree or another. TRUMP 1.0 so that was more tariff talk. Now we are experiencing the widespread tariff action. Totally scattershot, totally random. The theory, Matt, I think, is that we're trading short term pain for long term gain. That's the tariff theory at least. But I have a hard time envisioning the long game rosy outcomes if these policy priorities kind of continue. It can be hard to know how to react to news of accelerating layoffs, increasing stock market volatility. That's why the how to Money podcast exists. You don't have to wait until next commercial, man. You can only listen to what goes on behind the scene scenes here on the show. What if those stories were better? What if. What if I saved the good stuff for off the air by mistake? Sometimes I think they are, but Rich is a really random guy. That's Rich Cavino. I actually just reposted our time in Sacramento at the A's game. A's Mets yesterday. Had a great weekend, but I hope you had a Rory McElroy master sort of weekend. Who's the master? Even though my favorite master of the universe is man E faces, Rich was more of a man at arms guy because he likes a mustache. So anyway, perhaps Shira was my first crush. I don't know. And Evil Lynn was where it was at. But I reposted our video of us doing the Bushwhackers. You know, perhaps you recognize us from our TV appearance yesterday. I love the game, love that so much. And by the way, not everybody remembers the Bushwhackers though. Dude, I'm so surprised because people like, yeah, I got a lot of feedback, like what does that mean bushwhackers like the wrestlers? What do you mean? What do I mean? Well, not everyone's a kid of the 80s and 90s, so we have lots to get to, prizes to give away on the show. We're going to play last one standing. What is that? You'll find out. But it's your chance to win our coveted Swiggy, which is our stainless steel water bottle. Our way of bribing you to check out our regular show Monday through Friday, 5 to 7 on the east again. Covino and Rich. And two things, Rich, before we dive into the meat of the show. Well, before you dive into. You know what, recap that, because we're seconds away. It's happening right now. Katy Perry is launching into outer space. Okay, hold on. And that's not a new hit single. It's not. Hold on. I wonder. It's happening as we speak. I feel like you're making this up. I know. This is not a big penis going into space. It looks like it though. What is going on? What's more random? The fact that we're on Dan Patrick's show right now. That there's a rocket taking off an all female flight. All female crew with Katy Perry. Or that insert sexist joke here. Or the cheesiest Godzilla movie is airing as we speak. Houston, we have a problem. Is it Godzilla versus? Is that Ghidra? Ghidorah. Ghidorah. All I know is that. Is it blue Origin? Yeah. Should they have changed the shape of the rocket for the all female crew? Perhaps. Look, there's a direwolf on the screen above that one. Yeah, this is going on random Monday ever. So we'll keep you posted on this flight. But I want to remind you that this is day one of the Dan Patrick hat trick, which means you get three days of us here this week. And I think we're going to be here on Tuesday, next Tuesday as well. In for Dan Patrick. And we have a big event coming up, June 20th, the 21st and 22nd. And this is your official invite. So we invite the entire Fox Sports Radio nation, all the Danets. Everybody's involved. Everybody's invited. Don't expect an Evite. We're going to have a party, a celebration June 20th through the 22nd in Vegas. You know how you get people to go invite Marvin and tell him you'll pay for his trip? Yeah. Some of the Danets involved. I love Marvin, but everybody's involved. And you see some of your favorite people from Fox Sports Radio and just a Lot of our friends and listeners through the years, June 20th through the 22nd. Details to come. So follow us at Covino and Rich. For now, just book your flight. We will be there and we're expecting a lot of people. The most interactive show on radio going to be celebrating now. If you can only make it one day, come on the middle night, the 21st. That'll be our party night. But again, details coming soon at Covino and Rich. I also remind everybody to check our bonus podcast. Over promised. It's on fox Sports Radio's YouTube page so you could watch our show. It's the stuff we can't fit into our regular two hour show. So over promise with Cavino and Rich. How are we talking? How are you talking without concentrating fully on Blue Origins space craft? Oh, look, it just penetrated the atmosphere. Do you want to explain? Hey, it's like the all female Ghostbusters movie. Yeah, meaning like I'm not as interested. Stop it. That's sexist. But I'm not trying to be. I'm just being real about it. You got to fill me in now again, I'm covino, that is rich. Rich Davis is also the voice of pop 2k on Sirius X Men. What does that have to do with the spaceship? Because I want to know what's going on here. Tell me about it. Yeah, I've interviewed Katy Perry. Because I've interviewed Katy Perry a bunch. That makes me an expert on Blue origin. You're the pop princess. You mean to tell me you don't know anything? Yeah, I know as much as you should know. You're the one who's intrigued by it. Why is Oprah crying? Why is Oprah there? What? I don't know. Dude, can you focus? Because Gayle King is also. That being said, Kavito, when I, when we were watching Godzilla, I was like, oh, is that Mothra? And he was like, no, that's Ghidorah. He's like Ghidorah. So apparently he knows just as much about the bottom screen as Rich does. The top screen. Rodan was that flying creature. Rodan's your terrible starting pitcher on the Yankees. He is terrible. Oh, wait, no. Ghidorah's three headed dragon. Well, anyway, you guys know you're on like a lot of radio stations right now. Can you reign it in? I don't know if Rich reignited. If he was snorting the coffee beans this morning. I don't know what he ordered. Well, point is, observations from the weekend we said it. We went to Sacramento. Just a Great scene reminder 1. If your team is playing in Sacramento against the Athletics and you have an opportunity to go, I like, not recommend it. I highly recommend it. It was an experience that I can't describe other than it had the intimacy of spring training and a feel of a big league game that mattered. And I've never been to something like that because it's. It either feels like a game with high stakes or casual spring training. It was a hybrid of that because it was a game of significance. Regular season game. We've never had seats that great either. We weren't that up close ever in our lives and we've gone to plenty of games. So we were really, really into the game, you know, so that was a. That was a change as well. And we made it onto tv. You could see it at Covino and Rich. So while we were there, like we said, Rory McIlroy won the Masters. Now, when it comes to golf, I'm not at that point in my life yet. How far into outer space are they going? Okay, is this one of those, like, they see? I thought you would know. I'm pretty sure it's the upper atmosphere. They're not like in outer space. You're right, you do experience weightlessness, but it lasts for only 11 minutes. You skim the atmosphere. We have slow motion video of Katy Perry. And then they come back down. You know when like. Like the slingshot video is when women launch out into the slingshot and we see the videos on social media. She has a suit on, dude, but that would have been nice. Speaking of beautiful women. Speaking of. This is our new segment, Girls Floating in Outer Space. Paige Spiranik was on our show. We caught up with her at the Super Bowl. She was a delight. She's a golf influencer. Former golf pro turned influencer. Get her on one of those slits and now she's turning heads everywhere. I'm getting the feeling you don't care about outer space. I don't. I mean, this is a big deal. What is such a big deal about this? Then? Tell me about it. That's why I asked you. Hold on. I paused everything, dude. And I said, hey, pop princess, tell me what's going on. Well, that was rude, first of all, rude, secondly has nothing good pop music. He's the guy that talks about Katy Perry every day, by the way. You don't know anything about it. Oprah's there because Gayle King's there. Yeah, he said that? Yeah, he said that. Oh, I missed that. I got four words for that. What did he Do Spot doesn't listen to me. Bezos is fiance. She's on it. Yep. That's risky. When you're a billionaire, I guess you need thrills. Because, like, why would you go on that? Film producer Carrie Anne Flynn, a NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen. There's no way they could get stuck up there like those previous astronauts. Right. I just. Look, I hope they're safe. I hope they're having the time of their life. I would never take that risk. So let me ask you this. Yeah. Before we get into the NBA and Paige Sporane, the masters, all the stuff. Yeah. I was going to say, because this was supposed to be about Rory right here. Yeah. Yeah. I do have one question, though, that's way more important. I think they're coming back already. Yeah. No. Yes. That's like. That's like when you wait two hours for the Star wars right at Disney, and then you. That. All right, it's over. Oh, that's so anticlimactic. They're already coming back. Can they go again? That's stupid. Do they have fast pass? Mr. Toad's wild ride is longer than that. I. My question is, if you had the ability to do this and you were Ballin. No, thanks. I can tell you straight up, if the Covino and Rich show, based on the first 40 minutes of today's show, it's never gonna happen. But if we ever make it. If we ever make it to a higher level, and they say, hey, Covino and Rich, here's my two no's. I'll state them right now. You want to go to outer space? I'm like, no, thanks. I'll pass on that. Sign me up. Hey, Kavino. Rich. You want to be on Dancing with the Stars? Never. No, thanks. No way, no how. Hold on. Not interested. I was Sam. Would you. Hello. Would you. If they said I was Sam, we would. You know. You know, like, sometimes they'll ask for random people. Like, we want radio producer. I was Sam. You want to be part of the space mission, would you do it? Yes. Absolutely. Right. Oh, no, thanks. Spot would do it without question. No, I'm claustrophobic. I would not want to be locked in and strapped into. Plus, that G Force you got to deal with. Right? I think I could deal with that. But just being trapped in that suit and in the capsule, I couldn't do that. I couldn't even deal with that. Danny G. Of course he could deal with it. Yeah, that's true. He's not the problem. Yeah, Danny G Force. I'll pass. It was a great cartoon when we were kids. It is interesting because right here in the studio, two against two. I would be the deciding vote. And oh, wait, the rocket came back. Now the pod's falling back. That's one small step for man. So the, the booster fell. They're in there. Yeah. Everything's going okay though, right? They're floating back to space. They're floating back. So if I told you that was like a tip coming back, if that was like a 10 minute thrill, they go into outer space. Look at now the parents. You don't have to train for that or anything. I don't have to be in better shape than I am currently. Do you think if this was, if this ended up being where it was, like five to ten grand and not like a celebrity thing, do you think people would like thrill seekers? But yeah, like, it's like bungee jumping on steroids. Of course. Yeah. What's the price point? Do you think at some point in our life it'll be like, want to go to outer space? 10 grand? Like, do you think that'll be a thing? Oh, yeah, absolutely. I'm sorry I even brought it up, but it's big news. You're gonna see it all today. So let me ask you this though. If it was such big news, how come I haven't heard about it until right now? I've heard about it. I mean, Katy Perry, Gayle King and a full flight of women just took off into outer space while we were live. So you'll see, I'm sure, the highlights later on. But I didn't know about this. I didn't. You too worried about Aaron Judge? You get Aaron Judge. You know, we needed, we needed video from inside the. I wanted to. I'm surprised they didn't have some type of live stream, but I guess maybe that was not possible. Anyway, I digress. I apologize. Back to the Masters, bro. Paige Branak did say something that I thought was super relevant and I couldn't agree with her more. Well, I feel like there's some pushback from society and younger people and we're starting to see a trend. Maybe Ron Washington is part of the trend. Paige Beranek says hot take again. This is according to her social media, hot take. But I wish all sporting events banned phones. It was so special to see everyone enjoying the moment and being present in regards to the Masters and the Masters win. You saw a lot of video highlights and photo highlights of people just really in the moment. No phones, no video, which is ridiculous. Anyway, you're going to look back at this nonsense. I guarantee you no one ever has greater footage available on TV and on YouTube and everywhere else than what you're gonna capture on your phone. Can I promise I could guarantee you something no one has ever said to you. Hey, do you happen to have Fourth of July fireworks? 2021? Never. Can you. Can you allocate that for me? It's a hot take, but there seems to be more of a trend going on. Hot take. Do you wish all sporting events banned phones? Your thoughts on this? How it could work in your life? We'll do all that and more in for the great Dan Patrick Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show, weekdays at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. It's the last game of the season and with amex, you can save time with card member entrances at select venues and go straight to the action so you can catch every moment. In rapidly changing economic policies, they affect all of us to one degree or another. Trump 1.0. So that was more tariff talk. I love the dating shows and tennis. I just find that to be a bit meditative. You do not want to miss this. Listen to work in Progress on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcast. It's big news, bro. It's really not. I don't think it is. Is it off the air? Rich is trying to convince me that it's huge news that Katy Perry's now outer space. I'm in outer space. I mean, congrats. I'm glad they had a great time. They're back already though. Big news. Like, is it really? It was kind of wild to see, but big news. I didn't hear anybody talk about this. It would be bigger news if she put weight back on because she's one of those. Was it Ozempic? I'm not sure, but she was. No, I'm saying like with weight on. She had nice curves and was like a really attractive female. She could have even gained more weight. I would have fed her more cheeseburgers. She's so skinny right now, man. That's Danny G, everyone. No, but that's the opposite of what annoys people. I can't say either. We are live from the Mercedes Benz studios. Again, Covino and Rich in for the great Dan Patrick. Yes you can. Spot Big is beautiful. Yes, absolutely. That's his preference. You can't tell him what he likes. So Spot likes big. Adele, he doesn't like just cuz Spot is all skinny now. Yeah, it's the torto rage of 2025. Danny G super producing on the phones at 87799 on Fox. We got Iowa Sam in the studio today on the ones and twos. Samuel, he's with us five to seven on the east on our regular Monday to Friday show. And again play along at home at Covino and Rich. I'm Steve Covino. That's Rich Davis. Our buddy Mark's hanging out. Thank you guys for hanging out with us. Now we are giving away prizes, so stick around. We're going to play some games today. We got to talk about Lebron and other things that were in the news this weekend. But the masters, everybody's talking about it. You know, on a personal note, yeah, I see myself golfing in the future, just not right now. I see you mini golfing. I mean, I am pretty good, you know. Mini golfing's more my speed, to be honest. You ever let your daughter or girlfriend beat you at mini golf? Never. No. Builds character, you know, you gotta play your heart out every time. So Paige Spranek who's been on the show made a post. She's a delight. She is a delight. She was great. Hot take, but I wish all sporting events banned phones. It was so special to see everyone enjoying the moment and being present. And I have to say I had a similar experience over the weekend before we went to Sacramento to watch the Mets and the A's. We had a great weekend again. You could see it at Covino and Rich. We did the Bushwhackers on Friday night. It was my buddy Jose's party. Now, if you listen to SiriusXM, Jose Mangan is the heavy metal ambassador of SiriusXM. So at his birthday party. Is that on his business card? Ambassador? No, seriously. Yeah, yeah. Like, you know where yours says Radio tycoon. Okay, his says Heavy metal ambassador. No. What did you call me before? The pop princess. Yes. I knew Katy Perry was in outer space. Anyway, go back to it. So Jose, who's a rock host, you know, we're radio friends throughout the years. It was his birthday party, but he had the band Machine Head playing at his birthday party. Now, I'm not the biggest Machine Head fan, but they've been around forever. That's way cooler than when you had a magician at your birthday party. Way better than Captain Crossbones. So pick a card, kids. Yeah, way better than when Magic Mark was there. And I'm at the event for my buddy's birthday. This is Friday night in Los Angeles, actually, in Seal Beach. And when I got to the event, they're like, all right, give us your phones. Like, give you my phone. There's a lot of stuff that I don't want anyone to know about on this phone. I'm not handing over my phone to you, stranger. Can't do it. Yeah. And, you know, they put them in these little packets. I'm sure you guys have been to an event, if not for any sort of major event or where it's private or whatever. They don't want you to have phones. They take your phones. Movie screenings do that a lot. Yeah, movie screenings. They did it on the White Lotus this season. Season three. So that people can enjoy their time on vacation. They put them in protective packets, little cases, and they're like, we'll give them to you later. I'm like, all right, cool. Can I tell you, Rich, it was like a throwback of awesome, because you're in the moment. You know what I enjoyed? Machine Head. You know what I enjoyed their performance. You know, I enjoyed talking to people and having conversations and fun and friends and like, wow, this is what we used to do, right? Like, talk and interact. And that's kind of what you saw at the Masters this weekend when people were really in the moment watching McElroy win. You're forced to be the old social, not reliant on your phone version of yourself. So what do you think about the. At all sporting events? I think it's fantastic. I think that's a good start. I really do. It's. It's impossible to really make happen, but man, it would be awesome if they could. Why is it impossible you're not gonna be able to check 50,000 phones at a football stadium. You're not gonna be able to check. Yeah, but you could check yourself or you could wreck yourself. What if you have a babysitter at home with your toddler, though? I know there's always excuse you don't need your phones for emergencies. Danny G. I'm glad you brought that up because that really is the only thing that irks me. We're all, you know, dads. Most of us here are our dads or we have little kids in an emergency. You never know. You want that? But again, what did our dads do? They survived. We didn't know where the hell they were. Guess when the well, they left for packs of cigarettes. I was gonna say guess when dinner happened. Dinner happened when dad got home. And you had no clue when dad was coming home. When dad got home from the nudie bar. Who knows where dad was? We didn't know. So your thoughts? Let's get the phones going. 87799 on Fox. Kavino and Rich in for Dan Patrick. Should we not have phones at sporting events? Are you down with this or not? We'll take your feedback next right here.
