Coming up, draft night tonight, day one of a two day affair. Jay Billis from the mothership will join us. Coming up you have the Nets with five first round picks. They got a total of six picks. They have a second round pick as well. Dallas, San Antonio, Philly and Charlotte will lead off the festivities. Celtics ship Christops Porzingis to the Hawks and the Mav. They locked up Kyrie Irving for an extension and the Pelicans and the Wizards had a trade with CJ McCollum and who, who was the Jordan Pool. I was going to say the guy who got punched. Oh no, that, that. Is that the lead for them? That's kind of how he's known probably, you know, the guy who got punched, you know, by Draymond Green, his teammate. Jordan pool. Yes, that guy. So I think there's going to be, you know, more trade action. I don't know if it'll be a flurry, but I do think that things are changing in the NBA and we'll get to what the Denver Nuggets were accidentally, or maybe not accidentally hinting at yesterday during a press conference. That'll be coming up. 8773 DP show email address dp@danpatrick.com Twitter handle @dp show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. We look at the draft sometimes as well. We'll find our star in the draft and there are some stars. They're just not ready made. Keep in mind, Cooper Flag is around the same age as LeBron was when LeBron came into the NBA. I think there's maybe eight or 10 days difference between their ages. And Cooper Flag kind of circumvented the hey, you got to go to college for a year. So he reclassified. He should be graduating from high school. He should have just graduated maybe last week. But he reclassified, played on a really good team at Mont Verde in Florida and went to Duke. So now he's coming out as an 18 year old, same age as LeBron. Basically here is LeBron James talking about Cooper Flagg. I personally think that he wants to be great. You know, he had a hell of A year at Duke, guy that can do so many different things on the floor, can play with the ball, can play without the ball. You know, his jump shot is going to continue to get better, super athletic, quick second jump. And also he gets to join a team that's established right with hall of Fame guys. Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, right off the bat, hall of Fame coach Jason Kidd. You know, these guys are like, they're going to, they can give him the whole blueprint and I think that's going to be an incredible thing for him to, to have. LeBron didn't have that when he came out, went to the Cavaliers. That's from the Mind the game podcast that LeBron does with Steve Nash. If Cooper Flag was a quarterback and we were leading up to the draft, we would have already heard the he doesn't do this. Here's the downside, here's some negatives. I haven't heard any negatives of Cooper Flag. Now I'm sure there are. As LeBron said, he can improve his jump shot. But in the NFL draft, what happens with these quarterbacks, they either start out where you don't know much about and then you get a riser and then all of a sudden somebody slips into the first round or in the lottery or this guy can't miss to then leading up to the draft, he can miss. We got big questions about him. Happens every year. But with Cooper Flag, I mean, we don't nitpick with NBA draft picks, we don't nitpick with high draft picks in Major League Baseball, but we do with football, certainly at the quarterbacking position. But Cooper Flag, he is a quarterback or should be treated as a quarterback. And we'll talk to Jay Billis. What are the negatives or downside or things that Cooper, I mean, he's only 18. He can't be, you know, the full package right now. Now, that doesn't mean he won't be, but at 18, he's going to be an 18 year old at times out on the NBA floor. But you know, looking at what he's done so far, seems to have done everything right and feels like there's a lot of momentum on him going to the right team. That's key too. As I talked about this many times in different sports, you can be great and go to a bad team and not have a great career. You can be good and go to a great team and have a great career. And this is where you look at just how much is expected of you. Victor Wembanyama went to the Spurs. Now I think he's going to be the best player in the sport within the next couple of years. But he wasn't asked to do much. He's playing in San Antonio. We've seen players play there. There's not a, you know, the media scrutiny. He was able to kind of develop. Hopefully the blood clot is going to be healed and he'll be fine, and that won't be an issue for him. But you go there. How many wins did San Antonio have last year? How many did they had the previous year? Nobody cared. We allowed him to develop. Cooper Flag's going to go to Dallas. I don't think he'll be the Rookie of the Year because he's going to go to Dallas and you'll have Kyrie eventually. You have ad, you have Klay Thompson. If they got some front, front court guys like he's going to be asked to do, basically it'll change from night to night, probably. Hey, you might be scoring a little bit more. Hey, it might be rebounding a little bit more. Maybe it's passing a little bit more. I don't think that he'll be locked into. You better get your 20 shots. You better get, you know, you got to get 20 points. I don't think that he'll be asked to do that. I think if he does, that'll be a luxury. But I think Jason Kidd, easing him in and letting him find out exactly what this team needs and when, what he can add to that team. But you've already got guys who've won championships. You got, you know, an experienced head coach. As LeBron said, you got a future hall of Fame coach and Jason Kidd. And now you're asking Cooper Flag to just be one of the guys. If he went to Washington, if he went to Brooklyn, he doesn't. He's not allowed to be just one of the guys. Now. He's going to be. When you watch them play, you're going to kind of have to find him. If he played with Brooklyn or Washington or some of these other bad Charlotte, you're going to be like, oh, man. Because defenses can't load up on him in Dallas, in Brooklyn and Washington or Charlotte, they will. So he can stand out for a variety of reasons. But I think going to the right team at the right time and understand this, he's 18. And I said he's probably going to make a billion dollars on the court in the NBA when it's all said and done, let's just say he's An All Star many times over. Let's say he's an all star. Six times, seven times 18 years of age. That next contract, 22. Next contract 27, 26. Next contract. 30. 31. And these are contracts where you're going to make 250, $300 million at least. The new TV deal was 11 years. He is going to be 29 years of age when this new TV deal is done. Over the course of those 11 years, what's he going to make? He'll make a half a billion dollars. And that's just on the court. Somebody's got to get paid. Like, we go crazy when we go, can you believe that guy makes 50 million? Well, there's an amount of money and you got to pay it to somebody because you only have a certain number of players on the roster and that's where you're going to get a somebody who's going to get to $80 million here. And it's probably Shea, Gilgis or Luca at some point. They're going to make $80 million. I mean, we're not far off from $100 million a year. But Cooper Flag is ready to go number one to the Dallas Mavericks. Yes, Pauline. They project a few different business websites. Project. In 2028, the Supermax salary will be $72 million a year and should go up 6 million a year every year after that, at least. But we do lock in and we go, okay, maybe a Luca or Victor Wembanyama or Cooper Flag. But there are times when you get guys who are undrafted. You know, Fred Van Vliet, he was one of the cornerstones of the Raptors when they won a title. Ben Wallace, undrafted, heart of the Pistons.04 championship run, hall of Famer. You know, you get these guys where they kind of slip through the cracks, but those guys are so instrumental. And it leads me to what's going on in Denver, because yesterday the Nuggets held a press conference. Josh Kroenke, his dad Stan Kroenke, owns them. He owns a few other franchises. So you're doing sort of, I guess, exit interview. They're just hiring a couple of front office people. They, of course, they fired Michael Malone at the end of the regular season. They took OKC to seven games when they lost okc Joker, and I'm paraphrasing, talked about we need depth because they had depth when they won a title. And I said this was malpractice going into this last season. I said, you didn't do anything. I don't want Michael Porter Jr. He's not going to help me. I like Aaron Gordon a lot. Jamal Murray gets banged up, you better have some guys on the bench. And I'm listening to Josh Kroenke, one of the owners of the Nuggets, and he has this to say. Now, once again, this is unprovoked. I don't think anybody went to the press conference, is going to ask him about the possibility of maybe. Maybe trading the best player in the game. I think that for us as an organization, going into that second apron is not necessarily something that we're scared of. I think that there are rules around it that we needed to be very careful. Careful of with our injury history. The wrong person gets injured and very quickly, you're into a scenario where that I never want to have to contemplate, and that's trait number 15. You know, we're very conscious of that pushing forward and, you know, providing the resources that we can when the moment arrives. But that second apron, is it a hard cap? I'm not 100% sure, but it's something that teams are obviously very aware of going forward. Okay, he's part of ownership. He doesn't even know about the second apron. First of all, it appears as if he doesn't know what it is. Why would you bring up Joker in any scenario? Could you imagine if the Kansas City Chief's ownership got in front of the media and said, you know, we're all about transparency? I mean, you know, I get a couple injuries here. We may not have to trade. Number 15. The sports world would explode today if the Chiefs did that. Is this an accident by Josh Kroenke? I don't know how well versed he is in getting in front of the media. I always love when it's always total transparency. But then if you ask certain questions, there's not going to be total transparency. So don't tell me you're all about transparency here. When's the last time you thought about trading Joker? Has Joker asked to be traded? When's the last time you received a call about joke? Like, if we're doing total transparency, great, I'm all for it. But to me, and. And I've listened to it now, I think four or five times. I'm trying to be fair to the Nuggets with this, but then the more I think about this, I think this was. This was purposeful. It felt like, hey, we'd hate to do this. We don't even want to think about this. But he wants to have depth. He's Got to have help us out here. You know, we need a little help too. It's got to be given to. He even says, hey, we don't even know if he's going to accept our offer. Right there. That told me everything. We're not going to give you the max or we want to give you a four year deal instead of a three year deal. The four year deal gives us more flexibility. So now you put the onus on Joker. Hey, yeah, we signed, you know, that stupid deal with Michael Porter Jr. And we don't know if Jamal Murray is going to be healthy enough to last a couple years. But hey, you want depth, you gotta help us out a little bit here. I can't imagine another owner doing this. I just can't that you would say. I mean the Milwaukee Bucks ownership does. They didn't go, I don't know, probably might have to trade him. It's. They don't want to trade him. He might want to leave Milwaukee. I was just stunned. But it felt like there was more to this. Felt like there was an agenda here. Felt like there was a message that was going to be sent and that is we're going to try, but we're going to need help from Joker here as well. And I started to think about this when, when you're looking at, you know, this second apron that I think we should start actually selling, say second aprons like DP show second aprons on here, you know, maybe with Traeger. So you look at the Celtics and what they're doing, they were 22 million above the second apron. But teams can only spend two years in a five year period above a certain line and then future first round picks start dropping to number 30 overall. So that's why the Celtics are having this sale right now. They used one second apron season this year and they're not going to waste another not having Jason Tatum. So they had to get rid of money. This is what's happening with this second apron. You got a five year window. You want to spend over it. Okay. After that it's going to cost you your draft picks. They'll drop down to number 30. I know it's complicated, but you know, I think what they're trying to do is maybe collude to let's keep these salaries under a certain umbrella. Let's not get crazy with all of this. Look at the Celtics. I mean those two contracts with Brown and Tatum, I mean, got a half a billion dollars there. Tatum probably won't play next year. They may look at trade Jalen Brown, like all these things that you go, no, they can't do that. Just the fact that the Nuggets would even hint at that. And none of these reporters go, hey, if things go bad, are you gonna trade Joker? It wasn't one of those. But boy, if. If he came on this show and said, you know, kind of a doomsday situation, we might consider trading 15. Oh, man, here we go. Hold on, I got some questions for you. Yes, Marvin, if you're another NBA team, do you just call just a sure. Put out a feeler? I mean, look at what the Lakers pulled off with Luca. You never know. You never know. Like Boston, if I'm the Brooklyn Nets. You are a nondescript franchise. You got five first round picks. I would be calling the Celtics and saying, what about. What about if the Celtics are kind of in a rebuild slash reload? Then I would try to. I'd try it. I'd knock on the door at least. And I think some teams have probably called the Celtics amount. Jalen Brown shams, as mentioned, that teams are kind of, you know, kicking this around. I don't know, some interesting times with the NBA, you know, does Giannis get traded? Maybe not this year. You start to look at the injuries, you know, Durant didn't have a lot of suitors, ends up going to Houston. Phoenix is a mess, you know, so you start to look at all of this 76ers, you know what, that's talk about a mess, you know, the Pacers, what do you do without Tyrese Halliburton? There's a lot going on here, and I think that's the interesting part leading into the draft. It might not be the draft, but there are a lot of storylines here. And I did not think we'd be talking about the Nuggets and Joker and any remote possibility. That's where you go to a press conference and you go, we would never, ever trade him. Never. Now, that doesn't mean ownership doesn't walk back sometimes, what they say. But that's where you say, hey, we have the best player in the sport. We got to build around him better. We have to do a better job. That felt like it's, hey, we might be screwing up a little bit here, but you have to help us if you want some depth. That's what I read into that until other otherwise, you know, noted. That's what I'm going to take away from that. It felt like nobody provoked, prompted you and you were telling about transparency, which is nice, but that felt like There was a little more attached to it than. Oh, a slip of the. Ah, you guys are running with that. Stop, you conspiracy theorist, you. All right? Just getting started. I like when you're fired up. Well, it's a. It's an interesting comment because you don't want to call them unaware and. But if it's on purpose, then it's even scarier. You go into those press conferences, you know what you're going to be talking about? You. You can't be surprised, right? You can't be surprised. I don't think there was any. Any thought with any member of the media going, man, wait till you hear this question. Wait till I ask him about Joker. And all of a sudden I went, wait. And I said to Marvin, give me the context of that. He said, there wasn't. I mean, it was just that he brought it up unprovoked. Like to thank the nuggets, though, for giving me a little content today. How about we take a break, settle on a poll, question, phone calls, all of that. Just getting started. Ready to go. It's one of those situations where you go that could never happen in the NBA in today's climate. I feel like anybody could be traded now. It takes a lot more work with salary caps, all of that. You know, draft picks or players and player swaps or three team deals and all of that. But I just feel like anybody can be traded. And even though Joker is the best player in the sport, you know, the Cronkies are bottom line. I mean, ownership is bottom line for the most part. And you might look at this and say, age wise, can this team win another title? And I said last year, if this is their approach, they will not win another title. He might win an MVP and he had his best season this past year and probably would be, you know, one of will be one of the favorites, but he's going to look around and go, what are we doing? Just like Giannis is doing. It's not Giannis's fault what the Bucks did or didn't do. I mean, they tried. They brought in Dame. I think we waited for Chris Middleton to be something. You know, Brooks Lopez is my age. Like, what are you doing? And these guys are looking around going, hey, I'm winning MVPs, or I want a title, I'd like to do it again. And I can't blame them, but it's management who put these guys in these positions to say, is this where I want to stay? Plain and simple. And that's what happened with Denver. Denver won a title because their bench helped them win a title. Yes. They had the best player in the sport. Jamal Murray will give you those games where he get goes for 35, 40. Aaron Gordon can be really good, but, you know, some of those other contracts, now it's going to be. I think they're playing. They're putting the blame, not blame. They're putting pressure on Joker. Help us. Help us help ourselves. Yes. Paul Joker turns 31 in a few months. Shaquille O' Neal was traded from the Lakers at age 31. Kevin Garnett was traded from Minnesota to Boston at age 31. It can happen. Yeah. Those are peak players. Yes. Yeah. All right, let's see. Poll question. Seaton. What are we going to go with today? At least first hour NBA team. You would most not want to play for right now or least want to play for. Least want to play. Alrighty, team. You would most not want to play for. All right, Todd, give Me, the NBA team you would least not want to play for. I gotta go. Wizards. All right. No, not least not want to play for most. Not want to play most or least want to play for. Okay, clear that up. Okay. Gotta get our double negatives right. Okay. To make a positive. Correct. Okay. Marvin. The Brooklyn Nets. Paul, Charlotte. You feel irrelevant. I'd say Brooklyn, you're kind of in the media capital of the world, but you're so far away from the media capital of the world. You know, that's where you live. Right. By the water. You don't live on the water. You're like three blocks in and you have an obstructed view. But man, we're, we're three blocks from the beach. Can you see the water? No. That's Brooklyn Nets. Yes, Marvin. And the Nets don't have a fan base. They do not. They do not. Yes, Paul, the Nets feel drastically less relevant than the Knicks, but the, the Clippers don't feel drastically less relevant than the Lakers. I know it's a Lakers town and will always be, but the Clippers have moments and have a solid fan base. Yeah, but the Knicks are so big. Yeah. You know, just like the Lakers are. So, you know, unless you're winning a champ, the Knicks haven't won anything in 50 years. I mean, Brooklyn at least tried to get there. Thought they were going to get there. The Clippers at least made a pretty good effort. You know, they tried, but you know, the Lakers, that's, that's omnipresent. You know, wherever you go, you're not seeing Clipper jerseys, you're not seeing Brooklyn Net jerseys. And the less the hipsters are doing it just to be hip. The hipsters? Yeah, the hipsters are wearing. Hey, yes. Yeah. Is that a Cam Johnson jersey you're wearing? It is weird how just moving a team like this far on the map. Yeah. Completely destroys your entire fan base. It felt like they were more of a team when they were in New Jersey. Yes, yes. The New Jersey Nets are a thing. You could get behind the Brooklyn Nets. Who cares? And it wasn't like the New York jets or Giants who play in Jersey. This was a Jersey team playing in Jersey. Yeah, they're our team. Heck, yeah. And then all of a sudden, they're Brooklyn's team. Yes, Mark. And everyone that lives in Brooklyn is a Knicks fan. You can't. And they just moved there, what, maybe 10 years ago. So you're not going to ask a 30 year old, hey, the Brooklyn Nets are here. Joe Johnson, come on. He's here. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So that's our poll question of who would you. Yeah, we. We have some other teams on there that we probably didn't get to. Okay. I don't even remember who we said at this point, but the 76ers. I really don't have much interest in playing. I like Philadelphia as a city, but I don't want to play for them. I mean, that historically is a great franchise. But wait, I like how, you know, people, hey, I can solve the Sixers problems. You know, we're going to trade Paul George and we'll trade Joel Embiid. Who wants those guys? I love how we. We look at a trade from one angle. Yeah. Hey, I could fix the Sixers. You know, I do. I get rid of Embiid. I get rid of, you know, and be like, trade them. Get four first. Yeah. And. And maybe you get a franchise player, too. I'll hang up and listen like, what are we doing here? I would trade him be. I wouldn't have re signed Embiid. I got. Guy has a history of injury problems. Is he great? Yes, when he's healthy. Kawhi, he's great when he's healthy. Paul George, he's great when he's healthy. I don't want that attached to the guy that I'm going to give $300 million. Man, they were so close, though. They were. They were so close. They were Kyrie or Kawhi from the corner. Yes. Paulie. Joel Embiid played 19 games last year. He is under contract for the next four years at an average of $62 million per year. Dang. Stat of the day, brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. Give me the player got draft coming up tonight. Give me the player that you would have bet your pinky that they would have been a star. You would have bet your pinky that they would have been great. Hall of Famer. Let's say multi all star. Alrighty. Little round ball rock here. Johnny Chesh. Thank you. John Marvin. I'm gonna go to you one C for me, Michael Beasley. There's still a chance that he could be a Hall of Famer. All right, relax, Paul. You got somebody that you would have bet a pinky. I absolutely would have actually bet the Pinky. Back in 1994, Glenn Big Dog Robinson out of Purdue, played two years in college. His second year in college, he averaged 3111 at small forward and he shot 40% from three. I had no doubts he was going to take over the NBA. He made two All Star Games. He had a nice career. Not even close to the hall of Fame. Todd, you got one. Although he looked a lot older than he was from the beginning. Greg. Odin. I got caught up in thinking that he was going to be a dominant. He got picked, I guess, before Durant. I thought he was going to be something more special. All right. Had some injuries there. Seaton, you got one? Yeah, I guess he's kind of recent. Well, at least recent. Ish. But, man, I thought Jeremy Lamb was gonna be a thing. That's rando. All right. I really thought Jeremy Lamb. I was like, dang, man, that kid is gonna be a thing. Oh, and he had. He played for a long time. Never did anything, but he played for a while. I thought Leitner was going to be a great player. I just thought, somebody that good is going to understand how to play in the NBA. And what would be different? You know, he went against the best players. He dominated Shaq. I mean, like, he was. He was great against Alonzo Morning. So I just thought, okay, now he went to a bad team. He went to Minnesota. And that certainly had an effect on him. He did play a long time. He just. And he went to an All Star game or two maybe. But I thought, well, that's just a natural transition. You're going to be All Star a couple of times over in the NBA. All right, we'll get phone calls. Coming up. 877-3DP show. Yes, Marvin. Sorry. Honorable mention for me. Jaleel Okafor out of Duke. I thought he was going to be the better version of Zach Randolph. Okay. I didn't buy into Harold Miner. Baby Jordan. Oh, my goodness. I remember having discussions at SportsCenter and people got caught up in Harold Miner at USC and he was a great leaper, and they thought he was going to be baby Jordan. I said, you know, here's a problem. He can't shoot. Other than that, Pearl Washington's another player where I thought, God, is. You put him on an NBA floor, he's going to be going all over. You're going to be crazy. And that didn't work out either. But yeah, Baby Jordan, he. I think the similarities were that he wore number 23 when he was in college. I think that that's where the similarities ended. Yes, Paul, since we're doing honorable mention, I will go. Larry Johnson out of UNLV, he looked like a 30 year old at age 20. He won rookie of the Year with Charlotte. Yeah, he made a second team all NBA in his second year. Yeah. Back problems, though, slowed him down. Yeah, back problems. Stacy Augment is another. Exactly who I was gonna say. Stacy Hogman. I thought Stacey Ogman was going to be the guy. I thought he was going to be Scotty Pippen before Scotty Pippen, because he just was one of those glue guys, play defense, transition, you know, great in transition. Anybody else that comes to mind? Yes, Paul, I would say John Wall coming out of college. And even in his first few years, I'm like, yeah, he's. He's the real deal. There's. There's no reason for him not to dominate the position for 12 years. And it cooled. Yeah. I didn't think Adam Morrison was going to be good because I didn't think he did anything. I mean, he, he scored, but I mean, you, you gotta. The margin to get your shot off in the NBA as opposed to college. It's kind of like that margin of a quarterback in college. And your guys are wide open to the NFL. We have to throw them open. And Adam Morrison wasn't particularly big, strong, quick, fast. I just think he scored. But there are a lot of guys who can score in college. Yeah. Pauline. I have one more honorable mention. We could do this all day. Stevie Francis out of Maryland. He felt like, had everything. Combo guard. He was rookie of the year for Houston in 1999. Made three All Star Games, 24, 25, 26, and then cooled. Yeah, Stevie, Franchise. Yes. Mark. One more guy. The pride of Chicago, Jabari Parker out of Duke. I thought he had the perfect NBA game. Yeah. Could put it on the floor, could shoot it. Good size. Yeah. Yeah. Stevie, Franchise. He played for the Rockets, The Magic. The Knicks. The Rockets. And then he went to Beijing. Yes, Mark. He was one of the few guys that refused to go to the team that drafted him. Also the Grizzlies. Grizzlies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't think big country Bryant Reeves was going to be great. He's fun, though. He was Great haircut. You know, he broke a backboard. It's like, okay, Like. Okay. Like I need a little more than that. Although I thought he was a really skilled big man. It just. You started, you know, back then, you. You had really skilled great big men. Like nowadays, if he could shoot the three, he'd be able to play. You don't have to be a, you know, a great big man, the traditional big man. All right, we'll get to more phone calls here coming up, and we settle on our poll question as well. Talk NBA draft. Jay. Billis a little bit later on. We're back after this. I love going to the movies and there's nothing like a summer blockbuster. You know, those big loud, thrilling, popcorn, flying edge of your seat kind of movies. I absolutely love Those movies. And F1 the movie. It checks every single one of those boxes. Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who gets one last shot at redemption decades after stepping away from the sport. This is a big movie. It feels big and that's because it is. It's from the same people that brought you Top Gun Mavericks, so you already know it delivers on action and it gives you that first hand driver's point of view. You know, it takes you right inside the cockpit of the car. It is just an incredibly well shot movie. I took my 15 year old son to see it and his review was, and I quote, yo, that movie was lit so I'm pretty sure he enjoyed that. Do yourself a favor, go see it on a big screen, the biggest screen that you could find. We went to go see it in IMAX and it was perfect. Absolutely perfect. F1 the movie from Apple Original Films and Warner Brothers Pictures Only in theaters and IMAX 6-27-rated PG13 may be inappropriate for children under 13 in the NFL. There's no margin for error. It's over his head. It's the wall. It might be a home run. Moore's racing on his way to third. The game is tied at least as Moore has a triple. And I think he's won it. Save it to the Red Sox. It's a home run. That's courtesy of FanDuel Sports Network West Television. Christian Moore, eighth overall pick of the 2024 draft. You know, I, I sit corrected here and I had a baseball person text me to say, hey, you were talking about these players who play in college and then they disappear and go to the minor leagues. You got guys. Christian Moore, 8th overall pick, 2024 draft. Chase Burns, 2nd overall pick, 2024 draft. He struck out the first five batters he faced against the Yankees. So you are finding some of these players who are making that jump right from college to. I'm surprised that there aren't more college players who make the jump. Feels like if you're drafted out of high school, you might spend two, three, four years in the minor leagues, but the, you know, with the NBA, they'd love for you to go to a developmental league. Some of these guys, 18, 19 years of age, you don't want to put them on a roster. Making that kind of money, traveling all over the world and babysitting them. You know baseball, you get the college World Series. It feels like if you can, you know, survive the ding ping of those bats, you can go right into the major leagues there. But that is your play of the day. Play of the day brought to you by McGuire's new Hybrid Ceramic wash and wax boost protection. Extreme water beating technology. Next time you Wash your car truck. McGuire's. Reflect your passion. Joe in Orlando. Hi, Joe. Good morning, fellas. Dan, have a quick question for you. Seeing that I think all roads are leading, Jaylen Brown is leaving. However, both teams that I'm going to give you have a list full of assets. And just as a general manager, which team would you pick? Would it be Houston and their options of picks, including this year's? I think it's 22nd. Or would you allow this trade to the spurs to happen, ensuring you to get that number two pick and you are able to build a young roster to kind of emulate what OKC did to sga as far as keeping Tatum healthy and just retooling. Well, if I'm Boston, I don't want to be trading Jalen Brown unless I look at this and say, all right, this is the direction we're taking. But I mean, what's Houston giving up? You didn't want to give up anything for Kevin Durant. You're going to give up a lot for Jalen Brown. You're going to give up Thompson, you're going to give up, you know, a couple of your young stars, and I wouldn't do that. Jalen Brown, wonderful player. And maybe, maybe Brooklyn would be the team that I would at least have a conversation and, and they talked about that a few years ago. Ma Udoka maybe was trying to bring in Jaylen Brown, maybe that possibility. But San Antonio, like, I don't, I don't want to break it up unless I go, okay, I can get Jaylen Brown. I'm going to give up Dear and Fox and I'm going to give up the, what, Second pick in the draft and something else. Okay. I mean, I, I at least look at that. But I don't know if Boston's going to give him up because you don't know what is going to happen with Tatum. And, and we can sit here and go, yeah, he'll be back in eight months. Like, you don't know, sometimes surgeries don't work and maybe you're going to be less of who you were. I mean, look at Durant. I mean, Durant was a slasher, and then all of a sudden, you know, he had surgeries. Amari Stoudemar is going to be a Hall of Famer, Larry Johnson, and then all of a sudden injuries. So I think you got to be careful with that. But I want Jaylen Brown. Yes, but what am I giving up? Brooklyn's got five first round draft picks. Let me see. Chris in Maryland. Hi. Chris, what's on your mind today? What's going on, guys? Hey, I tried to call in yesterday, but I couldn't. I'm calling in because I have a pie to the face bet if Fritzi is interested. So you were all talking about football yesterday? Yes. I am 100% certain the Chargers are going to finish higher than the Broncos and the AFC West. So if they do, my bet is, Fred, she takes a pie to the face. If they don't, my wife and my kid can both pie me to the face. I will send in the video. All right, John. I feel compelled, plus my confidence in my team, to take that bet because I think it's entertaining for the show, and I think Denver can do at least a little better than the charges. Let's do it. Oh, so you're. You're leaning towards content here. I'm leaning towards content and my belief that the Broncos should be at least a little bit better. Wait, wait. You told me they could win the West. They could win the West. I think it's time for the Chiefs to slide a little bit, and if anyone else is going to win the West, I'd like Denver over the Chargers to win the West. Okay, so let's do this. Let's do this. Pipe. All right, there we go. Two for one. He's gonna get hit with two if I win. All right. All right, we got a bet there. All right, Chris. Thank you, Chris. Todd. Todd, leaning in on content. I believe it will be entertaining for the show as well as. Yeah, my love for the Broncos. Jim and Reno. Hi, Jim. What's on your mind? Hey, good morning, Dan. Hey, I've got a. I got a. This day in Major League Baseball history for you. I'm concerning a future hall of Famer that made his debut on this day in 1953. I just wanted to throw some career stats at you and see if you can name them. All right. All right. This guy came right out of high school. Al Kaline, Major league. Thank you very much, Dan. You got it. All right. Thank you, Jim. Let it breathe a little bit. I. I guess I don't know content like Fritzi does. John in Florida. Hi, John. What's on your mind? ADP Dan. It's first time, long time. 5 11, 170. Thank you. Thank you. Hey, just wanted to reach out. It is my 32nd birthday today. I don't need a song. I don't need a shout out, anything like that. Trying to benefit the nation here. If at any point in today's show could we get Gary Miller's soccer breakdown in three, two, one. You know what? Maybe, maybe we can get that Gianluca Paliuca. How about a little Happy birthday to John, though? Happy birthday. Okay, we'll see if we can locate that. Maybe we'll play that a little later on. We haven't played that in a while.
