Special Offer Right now, a gift with select purchases of Tailgate Moonshine. Something we've been working on for a while. Really excited about it@dan patrick.com Play of the Day Pull Questions Stat of the Day all of that forthcoming Pacers close out the Bucks. But that's not the story. It's about the Bucks future with Giannis and also what happened with Tyrese Halliburton's dad going toe to toe with Giannis after the game. The Pistons, they surprise everybody. They get a big win against the Knicks in New York Celtics close out the Magic and the Nuggets beat the Clippers tonight. Warriors, Rockets and the Timberwolves are five and a half point underdogs at the Lakers for game five as well. Let me start with the teams that were eliminated. The Magic, they I, you know, it wasn't close. They lost in five to the Boston Celtics. But I do like their future. If if you're looking at a team and you go, okay, they have a young nucleus. They had some Injuries there. I thought that they were going to be one of those teams to keep an eye on the Rockets. I think the Rockets will probably bow out with Golden State, but I do like their future. They have a young nucleus there. It's when you get to Milwaukee, they are old, and with Dame out, Dame probably not able to play next year. You start to look at Brook Lopez's age there. I mean, they. And then you start with Giannis. Does Giannis want to be there? He's got one more year, I think, with his contract and let the speculation begin of where is he going to end up. Do I think he'll end his career in Milwaukee? I don't. But he's been loyal and, you know, he is decorated, won that championship, two time mvp. And I think you start to look at this, if I'm him and I go, are we going to win? Everybody was all in. Everybody was all in. You got Dame, Lillard, we got a chance to win a championship here, and now he's going to look around and go, we're not going to win a championship. And what now? What's the organization do? Because that's the tricky part as well. You almost want him to be the first to say, why don't we explore a trade? Because you don't want management to say, we're going to explore trade. You want to be loyal to him. You want to be loyal to your fan base, hey, we want to keep him, but, you know, deep down you might go, if we're going to turn this around, this isn't a reload, this is a rebuild. And now you have to look at this and go, okay, what can we get for him? Can you get dollar for dollar? And probably not, but if you get 75 cents on the dollar for him, you look around and you see what the Lakers gave up for Luca. Well, obviously you're not going to get anywhere near that kind of haul for Giannis. Can you get a couple of first round picks? Can you get a player? The one team that came to mind, I thought about the Miami Heat, considering that embarrassing exit for them. You know, where are they in the reload, rebuild, Heat culture? You do have Tyler Herro and you do have bam. But that might be one of those where you, you give up one of those guys, but then what exactly are you going? You know, Giannis has to look and go, okay, if I go to a team, how. How much am I going to deplete that team by going to that team? You know, this happened with Carmelo Anthony, Carmelo Anthony wanted out of Denver, goes to New York, and then he looks around and goes, wait a minute, there's nobody here. Well, they had to give up players to get you there, and that will be the key. If you're the Milwaukee Bucks, do you. And what do you get in return if you do trade Giannis? But I like Orlando's future. I think, you know, the disappointment has been Jalen Suggs, who's been injured for them, but they do have a pretty good nucleus there as they move forward. And I like what the Pistons are doing. Even if they bow out this next game, I like. I like who they are now. They got some journeymen there, but they do have some young talent there. I think Cade Cunningham is a very versatile, very talented player, and I think J.B. bickerstaff's done a wonderful job with them. You're beating the Knicks in the Garden, and I know you had some injuries there. Brunson is not 100%, but you're. You're facing a team that had 14 wins last year, and here they are still in this. And that's where you start to look. I thought that this was kind of an exploratory, like a field trip. You know, you're going to go and you're going to kind of take in the sights and sounds of the playoffs so you understand what it's like when you come back again. The Rockets are going to understand how to close out better this next time around. You know, what Detroit is doing, what Orlando is doing. This is where you see these teams like Cleveland. I talked about Cleveland a couple of years ago and said, that's my surprise team. Well, nobody should be surprised where they are now. The nucleus is there. They blow out the heat. Darius Garland doesn't play that much in the last couple of games. In fact, I don't even think he played. And now they got the Indiana Pacers. And that brings us to my next topic. With the Pacers, I'm not surprised. I think they're a dangerous team. I think they're a really good team. But there was drama afterwards. Tyrese Halliburton scores as he beats Giannis off the dribble and goes to the hoop, scores. And then they end up winning this game. I was shocked that there was no help for Giannis out on an island with Tyrese Halliburton. I'm watching. I go, he's going right. He's going right. He goes right. Boom. Right in, goes right. Embarrassing. Absolutely embarrassing for the Milwaukee Bucks. There's no excuse for that. And Giannis used to be a great defender, but Tyrese Halliburton off the dribble. And Giannis, I think, looked at like, wait, where's my help? There was no help there. And so you can imagine, you know, Giannis, a frustrating season, loses dame, and then you lose this way in overtime. You got embarrassed there. You should have won the game. But there was a confrontation between Tyrese Halliburton's dad and Giannis after the game. And here is Giannis's side of the story.
Todd Fritz
I believe, like, being humble in victory, that's how I am now. There can be a lot of people out there that are like, no, when you, when you win the game, it's a green light for you to be disrespectful towards somebody else. I disagree. I've won the championship. They haven't. Okay. And that doesn't say anything. I'm not trying to minimize their effort, but losing the game, emotions run high. Having a fan, which at the moment I thought he was fan, but then I realized it was Tyrese's son, which I love Tyrese, I think he's a great competitor. He was his dad. Sorry. Coming in the floor and showing me his son towel with his face. This is what we do. This is what we effing do this. The eff. We do this. I feel like that's very, very disrespectful.
Dan Patrick
All class by Giannis. Handled it with class at first. He's going. He's staring at Tyrese Halliburton's dad going, what is going on here? Who is this? And you can see where he's getting in his face. Here is Tyrese Halliburton talking about his dad.
Todd Fritz
You know, as far as the incident between Giannis and my pops, I, you know, I don't think that my pops was in the right at all there. And unfortunate you what happened in the end there. But, I mean, this series was a lot of war of words, a lot of war of antics, a lot of stuff going back and forth. And that's just part of, you know, this. This rivalry and what we've built here over the last couple years. And, you know, it's unfortunate what happened there, but I think it's just competition. And as far as my pops, again, I don't agree what happened there. We'll have a conversation, you know, everybody's grown men and, you know, we'll just go from there.
Dan Patrick
Handled it with class as well. Grown ups ruin everything, by the way. What are you doing on the floor? You have no business being on the floor. Let your son handle his business on the floor, not you. Go hug your son. Don't be, you know, going toe to toe, face to face. And you know. You know, Giannis is not going to hit you. You can say whatever you want to him. It was embarrassing and should not, you know, granted, it's the Pacers and, you know, Tyrese is one of your stars, and of course, you have to let Pops in. I would say to Pops, you are not going on to the court. Don't even go close to the court. We're not going to let you do that. You have to have some kind of, you know, restrictions in there. You have to have some kind of police work here. You know, dad goes on. What if Yana. What if he says something? Giannis hits him? Like, it just. I know you. We. You don't want to think that way, but you have to think that way because they're right. They're nose to nose at one point, and Giannis is saying things to him, and here's his dad, like, I don't know how they allowed this to happen. Oh, he's probably saying, hey, Giannis, you're an incredible competitor and I, you know, you should be proud of what you. No, he's talking trash to Giannis. But the players, they. They reacted with class. And Giannis said, look, you. You win with class, lose with class, but this? What is this? And Tyrese Halliburton shouldn't be answering questions about his dad after a game like that. Dad, it's not about you. Hate to say this to you. Your son's the star, not you. Let your son be the star, not you. Yes, Todd, how do you not realize.
Todd Fritz
That'S going to be a poor reflection on your son? With all the cameras everywhere and phones. That. That's not going to be. You really can't control yourself that much. It's that important for you to get some kind of camera time or make it about yourself. If nothing else, it's a. You know, you're taking it away from your son, and he's gonna have to answer all these questions.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. No, it's embarrassing because it should have been about the game. You eliminated the Bucks, and. And, you know, the Bucks won a title four years ago. Since then, three first round exits in the last three years. Three head coaches in the last three years. You're probably going to have a fourth head coach coming up. Although, let me ask Doc Rivers. Todd, you gotta give me money.
Todd Fritz
I thought you wanted Marvin to play an Actual Doc river sound.
Dan Patrick
We don't have anything from Doc.
Todd Fritz
I wasn't.
Dan Patrick
Why do I have Doc Rivers sound when you.
Todd Fritz
That's a valid point. I thought I was waiting for like.
Dan Patrick
Oh, how many times did you do Doc Rivers this morning?
Todd Fritz
At least three.
Dan Patrick
Yes, you did. So when I needed you, you weren't there.
Todd Fritz
Do I get a. Get a redo a remake? I missed the moment. And we pretend that didn't happen. We could just start.
Dan Patrick
I'm going to tee you up.
Todd Fritz
Teeing me up?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I'm going to tee you up. All right. I'm not going to run you, but I'm going to tee you up.
Todd Fritz
Don't put this on Gary. He tried. He couldn't catch the ball. Don't blame Larry. We had other chance to win this game. Do not put that on Gary. You got to give me more than 40. You got to give me more than 48. Sometimes games go, it's overtime.
Dan Patrick
I'm going to tee you up again.
Paul Pabst
You're running them?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I'm going to. I'm going to have to run you. I'm going to have to run you.
Todd Fritz
For the rest of the segment. I got to leave.
Dan Patrick
I'm going to have to run you. Go, go. You got to leave the room. I'm going to run you just for this segment. Big build up here. Todd doing his impersonation. Sounded great. We were having fun. He was going to all morning. Gary. Yes.
Seton O'Connor
That's the thing, you know, I thought after what, what have we been doing the show together for now? 18 years too long. I think it's been 18 years. You know, by the time it's done, it's going to be close to 21 years that we've been doing this together. I thought for sure after 18 years, we spend the last three being able to execute basic radio 101 bits. I did. I thought that we would be able to be like, you know, we could probably figure this out without having to really like, okay, you do this and then he'll do that.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Is this better than the actual Doc Rivers segment? That could have happened.
Paul Pabst
Good point.
Dan Patrick
Like, if we're looking for content.
Seton O'Connor
Not really. Gotta Admit, it's been 18 years of this exact same bit Todd screwing this thing up. Something very basic. It would be cool though. The weird part, the refreshing part would be like, wow, we did it right. That's amazing.
Dan Patrick
But when I came in, that's the first thing Todd did. He was doing his Doc Rivers impersonation. Don't blame this on Gary. Gary Trent. Who had the ball go through his arms and, and I thought, okay, I'll go to go to Todd and there'll be a moment where he can do his Doc Rivers impersonation. So I'll bring him back. But, you know, he needed to be humbled. I'm going to send him out there. He's out on the basketball court there, but we'll bring him back. All right. We'll settle on a poll question. Phone calls always welcome. Operator Tyler sitting by. And once again, you got basketball tonight. Warriors at the Rockets. That's game five. Timberwolves at the Lakers. Game five. We'll take a break. Just getting started here. We're back after this. On the Dan Patrick Show. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Hey, my name is Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of On Purpose. I just had a great conversation with Michelle Obama, to whom much is given, much is expected. The guilt comes from am I doing enough me, Michelle Obama, to say that to a therapist? So let's unpack that. Former first lady Michelle Obama and someone who knows her best, her big brother Craig, will be hosting a podcast called imo. What have been your personal journeys with Therapy. We need to be coached throughout our lives.
Dan Patrick
My mom wanted us to be independent.
Seton O'Connor
Children, and she would always tell me.
Dan Patrick
Stop worrying about your sister.
Todd Fritz
Having been the first lady of the entire country and representing the country in the world, I couldn't afford. Afford to have that kind of disdain. What would you say has been the most hardest recent test of fear? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Dan Patrick
Todd, I'm not gonna litigate this, okay? You just. You did your Doc Rivers impersonation for the first hour that I was here this morning, and then all of a sudden, I'm going to you. So you can do your punchline. You can do your Doc Rivers impersonation, and then you didn't think that I was going to you. I was going to play some kind of sound from Doc Rivers last night.
Todd Fritz
I should have been more prepared.
Dan Patrick
Okay?
Todd Fritz
I was doing several Doc Rivers impersonations, which would have, in your mind, like, I guess he's, you know, egging me on to set me up to do Doc Rivers or why else would I have been doing it so many times? That was like my passive aggressive way of saying, you should go to me to do a Doc Rivers impersonation, and I flubbed it. I'm like, wait, why is Marvin not playing the Doc Rivers already? What is he doing?
Dan Patrick
We're making progress, though.
Todd Fritz
We are slowly, very slow.
Dan Patrick
You did. You did take ownership of making that mistake, begrudgingly, because before I walked over and turned on my microphone, I could still hear you going, well, I didn't. I didn't know. I mean, I.
Todd Fritz
Until you all ganged up on me. I'm like, you know what? I'm standing firm. That was more of it. He should have played the Doc Rivers. I had nothing to do with my.
Dan Patrick
Impersonation, so, you know, an emotional loss for the Milwaukee Bucks. And here's Doc Rivers after the game.
Todd Fritz
You know what? This happens. Games happen. Things got out of control at the end there. Do not blame Gary. Gary, it's not his fault. Things happen. He didn't catch the ball. We lost that game way before Gary. Okay, you got to give me more than 48, though. We can't stop playing it in the fourth quarter. We can't stop playing.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right. Okay.
Seton O'Connor
Turns out the bit was funnier off air, too.
Todd Fritz
Behind my back. Now he's looking at every possible chance to take a shot.
Dan Patrick
Seaton picks and chooses, though. I mean, it's not a universal blanket of I Got your back there. Sometimes. Sometimes you'll be like, no, no, they're right. You screwed up, Todd.
Seton O'Connor
Today's not that day.
Dan Patrick

Seton O'Connor
Well, might as well start with Tyrese Halliburton's dad going on to the court. Not cool, or. Well, probably a lot worse than that.
Dan Patrick
Are the Pacers going to treat him the way they would another fan who went on the floor?
Seton O'Connor
Well, he didn't get tackled.
Dan Patrick
Well, no, everybody kind of. They know who he is, so they're just kind of watching. But he engaged with a player. He went toe to toe with the player. He had things to say to the player. He's cursing at the player. Are they going to treat him like an average spectator There. Now, the answer is no, but they should. You just don't want. You can't have this. It's just a really bad look. I mean, we criticize lavar Ball for all the silly things that he said. He's not going on the floor.
Paul Pabst
Yes, Paulie, The NBA has a fan code of conduct that is on in the arenas, on the back of your ticket, digitally as well and on their website. You'll be ejected from their arena if you attempt to enter the court. You could be subject to penalty, not limited to ejection without refund. They could take away your season ticket or prevention of attending future games. That's for the average fan.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, well, that's not going to happen to Tyrese Halverton's death. And if you're the Bucks, do you trade Yanis? The number of people who ask me this question when we were in Green Bay. So obviously you're in Wisconsin, and they were like, you know, we can't trade them. I said, yeah, you can, and you might have to. You know, you. You tried, but you got an older roster. I mean, Brooke Lopez is, what, 35? Dame 34, I think, and gonna have an Achilles surgery. You're getting into no man's land here. And, you know, the Celtics are still young, Cleveland's still young. The Pacers have a. I. I would probably consider a relatively young lineup as well. You got to keep up with these teams here, and the way you are, way you're constructed right now, that won't happen. Yeah, Paul.
Paul Pabst
Yeah, the comp could be. We Talked about this three or four years ago when Mike Trout was 30 and still an MVP regular player. You and a lot of us suggested this is the time the Angels should trade Mike Trout. When he has value. You've got nothing with him. Why not take a shot and go the other direction now it's too late. Giannis is entering that. Still at his peak, but at the back side of his career area.
Dan Patrick
And he had a really good career, or I should say season, statistically. How old is Giannis? See? 33, 32, I think. He's been in the league, what, 12 years?
Seton O'Connor
You've got him as 30 years old.
Dan Patrick
Oh, 30, okay.
Seton O'Connor
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
All right.
Seton O'Connor
He'll be 31 in December, so.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Seton O'Connor
You know, he's on the good side of 30.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. I mean, you still got a, you know, probably four more good years with him. Maybe a little. Little more, but a ton of trade value. But, you know, if you're Milwaukee, do you say, hey, we still want you to come out and see Giannis play basketball, even though the team might be. Not be as competitive as it once was. But you know, these early for, you know, these first round exits here, and another coach and Doc will probably lose his job and they'll have another coach in there.
Todd Fritz
Gotta give me one more year. You gotta give me one more.
Dan Patrick
Oh, okay. Now look at you.
Todd Fritz
No, that's too much. Yeah, of course I'm overcompensating now, like every 30 seconds.
Dan Patrick
Yes, too much.
Todd Fritz
But because they won a championship in 20, 21, do they absolutely need to get rid of him? Can they just keep him? Like, almost like a dirt Navisky. Dirt Navisky type situation. Like, you have your. In Milwaukee, you have your title. It's not the Celtics, it's not the Lakers, where they're expecting multiple championships.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but Dallas was still competitive, though, with Dirk after they won their title.
Todd Fritz
But they would never think about trading him after a first round exit.
Dan Patrick
No. Well, that. Mark Cuban was not going to trade him. I mean, Mark Cuban absolutely was not going to trade Dirk Nowitzki. He was going to retire as a math. I mean, yeah, if you want to keep him. But I think you have to at least have conversations where you go, okay, what does he want to do? That'd be my first question. I'd say, you know what, Take some time. Let's reconnect here in a month, I'll visit you and, and we can talk about scenarios here. Be fair to him with what he has meant to you. But I think you got to be honest, you Got to be honest and say, what could we get? What makes the most sense? But I. I would start with him. Yeah.
Paul Pabst
Paulie, it's such a tough thing. Like Marvin said, he's beyond a legend in that town. It's like he is the town, basketball wise. They got him with the 15th pick of the 2013 draft. There's a number of players drafted above him that are not even in the league anymore. They're bus. They're average, they're decent. There's no one even close to him in that draft.
Dan Patrick
But he's been in the NBA, what, 12 years now? Yeah, man, that was 12 years. Yes.
Seton O'Connor
Feels more like an anomaly than anything. That ring.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but, you know, this is an organization that traded Lu Alcindor, you know, but he wanted out of Milwaukee and you know what they got for him. And he was the best player in the game.
Seton O'Connor
It'd be wild if that was the same group of people that were still holding on to those jobs. Yeah, I mean, like, we're not making that mistake again. Keep them just like shuffling around in the back.
Dan Patrick
Becky in Wisconsin. Hi, Becky. What's on your mind? Hi.
Todd Fritz
Well, first time, long time.
Dan Patrick
I was the young lady, which I really appreciate, in the front row on Friday that kind of has become a Todd apologist, I think the one that he gave a hug and it turned into a whole spiel.
Todd Fritz
I just wanted to say thanks so.
Dan Patrick
Much for just everything you did in Green Bay. It was just. It was so amazing to meet you guys. I've been listening to the show for ages, and it was just so cool to meet you. And each of you was exactly kind of who I expected you to be, which was refreshing, Todd included. And I don't really blame you for kicking him off for the Doc Rivers thing, but I was kind of curious if we could ask him how long he really thinks he's going to have a job. Oh, wow. Doc, how long do you think you're going to keep this job?
Todd Fritz
I hope to have it all the way through to the end. To the end, folks. See what happens.
Dan Patrick
All right.
Todd Fritz
That's out of my control.
Dan Patrick
I think the Doc Rivers thing is. Is over. I think the bit is over.
Todd Fritz
That's it?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I think so.
Todd Fritz
Today or forever?
Dan Patrick
Well, let's see if Doc keeps his job. It'll be awkward to do a Doc Rivers impersonation if he's not.
Todd Fritz
Yeah, he's got to be somewhat relevant to bother doing that.
Dan Patrick
Mitch in Kansas City. Hi, Mitch. What's on your mind, Dan?
Seton O'Connor
First time, long time.
Dan Patrick
6 foot 175. I was curious if you ever thought monetizing Fritzi's silence. The next time he has a faux pas like in the first segments, you just go to the card. This cone of silence brought to you by Chuck in Indiana. Or this toddlers 10 o'clock hour brought to you by Marion Missoula. Oh, okay. Yeah. Maybe we could get a sponsorship there. Oh, thank you. Thank you, Mitch. There'd be a lot of. A lot of mentions for that sponsor. Just saying. Let's go to Robin Orlando. Hi, Rob. Dan, I gotta be honest with you, man. That. That first segment was. Todd was. Was rough. I mean, over the years, you threatened to take one of his D's. I mean, you teed him up, take his tea away. Just. Just odd. Odd.
Seton O'Connor
Fritz od.
Dan Patrick
I put the cone of silence over Fritzi. If you're watching on Peacock, I'm. I had to do it. This is when he panics, though, because he gets claustrophobia. Todd, you okay?
Todd Fritz
I don't love it. I don't love it. I'm not supposed to code his signs. I'm not supposed to talk.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Todd Fritz
A little hot in here, though.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Kevin in Austin. Hi, Kevin. What's on your mind today? Hey, D.P. yeah, I'm with you on this. I think it all kind of, you know, Halliburton's dad. The way this all kind of started was, you know, Lavar Ball was able to chirp a little bit. But these guys that come onto the court, they would never say this stuff in the street. Well, I take that back. The Yokich brothers would. But the other thing is, for the tow, he got double teed and ran in the first segment on Bert Young's birthday. Man, you know what we have to do now? Thank you, Kevin. We have to do the side by side. Fritzi and Bert Young. Yeah, it was Rocky's brother in law.
Todd Fritz
You owe me, Rocco. I give you my sister.
Dan Patrick
Although you don't think you look like Burt Young.
Todd Fritz
I really don't. But that's okay.
Dan Patrick
Paulie, you do. You look like you when. When you have a growth, when you have like a three or four day growth. You look just like Paulie.
Todd Fritz
Why are we here in Russia? I don't like these people. I don't like these people in Russia.
Dan Patrick
Aiden in Utah. Hi, Aiden. What's on your mind today?
Todd Fritz
Adp?
Dan Patrick
I just have a trade proposal for Giannis. You know, I thought maybe Raw Blow could tap back into his black magic that he used to get Luca. Maybe trade Rui Hachimura. And a second round pick, maybe throwing Dorian Finney Smith and get Giannis in la. No, no, no, no, no. You know, the first trade proposal that I saw, somebody wrote about this, it was to the Lakers. And, and I get it, I laughed. I laughed out loud. Because it's based off nothing other than, you know, you're going to get clicks whenever there's a trade proposal. You'd be like, and the Lakers, okay, they swindled the Mavs and they got Luca. I don't know. What are you giving up to get Giannis? Like, that's what I would want to know. Are you going. You know what? I think Austin Reeves will get this done. Austin Reeves and, you know, Dalton connect and a first. A first round draft pick. Do we have any more first round draft picks here? I don't think we do. Like, what do you. And you give up Bronnie James Always have to have the Lakers in there. And the Knicks. Lakers and the Knicks. Yes. Marvin.
Todd Fritz
My favorite thing is guys being Photoshopped in the Lakers or Knicks jerseys. As soon as a trade, free agency. How many guys in your lifetime have you seen in Photoshop Knicks or Lakers jerseys?
Dan Patrick
Quite a few of them. Because it feels like anytime somebody's available, Stephen A. Smith will be, you know, cheerleading for the Knicks to get this guy. Never happens. But it's like, oh, I could see KD going to the Knicks. Like, I could see Kyrie LeBron going to the. It's like it never happens. Yeah, great industry. I work in Curtis in Illinois. Hi, Curtis. What's on your mind? Morning, DP Ben. Enjoying some playoff basketball and did have a reverse James in Virginia when they were talking about Buddy healed for Golden State. And I was looking for the white guy and couldn't find him, but mainly wanted to ask, like, how do you guys divvy it up? Because I've been watching for the last week and I don't think I've been able to stay awake past halftime of the late game. So do you guys like say, all right, Marvin, you got tonight's game and then you just recap it in the morning so you guys could actually talk about it. Somebody always stays up and then you'll see the clips and then you read the articles. You can't watch everything. And given the time constraints of when we have to get up to do the show, it's really hard if it's a late night game. But you know, Todd doesn't sleep much. He might see half of the late, late game. Marvin might be able to Watch something later as well. Yeah, Paulie.
Paul Pabst
I, sadly, was watching a little bit of the Clippers last night against Denver. Denver rolled. Ben Simmons got five minutes. He was 0 for 1 with no points.
Dan Patrick
He had an airball. Yeah.
Paul Pabst
On a hook shot from four feet.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paul Pabst
I seriously forgot he was a Clipper, and I. I don't even know if he is a Clipper. Not a true Clipper Mike.
Dan Patrick
In Wisconsin. A true Clipper Mike. Good morning. What's on your mind today? Morning, fellas. With Tyrese Halberton's dad, that situation, first thing that popped into my head was, you know, I bet Dr. Phil would have some good advice for him and how to handle that going forward. All right, well, Let me ask Dr. Phil what he thought of Tyrese Halliburton's dad confronting Giannis last night.
Todd Fritz
He's just gotta stop doing what he's doing. He's got all this fancy fish. He don't even got no aquarium to put him in. You're walking around with a ladder and a hat and a hose and everything. We ain't making Old Fireman.
Seton O'Connor
It would have been awesome if that was the time you were actually calling for Marvin to hit sounds, and I had no. I have Dr. Phil sound right here. Todd, stop interrupting.
Paul Pabst
It was on the she.
Dan Patrick
Great.
Seton O'Connor
God, I wish that would have been happened.
Dan Patrick
You can't win, Todd.
Todd Fritz
I cannot.
Dan Patrick
You cannot.
Todd Fritz
Todd, we're trying to do the Dr.
Seton O'Connor
Phil sound that Marvin had. Don't you read the sheet?
Todd Fritz
Yes, Marvin, speaking of the sheet, should I give Fritzy a sound sheet every morning?
Dan Patrick
All right, I guess. I guess. Todd, do you want to know what sound we have to play each morning?
Todd Fritz
I would love that. And I've gotten them at times, but I should have been more clear as to. I could have asked Marvin, can you make sure I'm on that list for the sound so we don't have one of those.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Seton O'Connor
To defend Todd here. I've asked for the sound sheet many times, and I almost never get it.
Dan Patrick
Oh, so all of this can be blamed on Marvin?
Seton O'Connor
I think really what we're finding out is this is all. Marvin.
Dan Patrick
Marvin, you screwed up. No, I know what we're doing. Yeah.
Todd Fritz
No, I didn't.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, you did. You didn't give the back row the sound sheet. Oh, that's why.
Todd Fritz
That's why he didn't know it was cute.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Todd Fritz
I still think this document audio, they hated to play.
Dan Patrick
I don't have Doc Rivers.
Todd Fritz
I have somewhere on his computer, I.
Dan Patrick
Have Giannis and Tyrese, and I have Chris Carter talking about shootover City.
Seton O'Connor
Okay, well, who's not doing their job, then? By not having sounded Doc Rivers from last night.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, Marvin.
Todd Fritz
Marvin has it, but didn't put it on your sheet there. He just left one of them out by accident.
Dan Patrick
That's awesome. Marvin, I'm gonna run you.
Todd Fritz
I'm sorry, guys.
Seton O'Connor
That's it.
Dan Patrick
See ya. I'm gonna go. Yeah. All right. Yeah, I'm gonna run you.
Todd Fritz
Nah, we don't want that.
Dan Patrick
You don't?
Todd Fritz
I don't mind stepping. He's gotta press all those.
Dan Patrick
No, no. Seaton's coming up, taking over for Marvin.
Paul Pabst
Wow.
Dan Patrick
I'm gonna run Marvin. Let's go.
Todd Fritz
Wow.
Dan Patrick
No, I'm not messing around.
Seton O'Connor
I don't know how to do this, though.
Dan Patrick
You forgot? Yeah, but I'm gonna blame Marvin if you don't know how to do it, because you shouldn't be put in that position. Okay, let me take a break. Got our play of the day up next. Update our poll results. Are you gonna be okay, Seaton? All right, we'll be back after this. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show, weekdays at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific, on Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartrad.
Todd Fritz
Hey, my name's Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of On Purpose. I just had a great conversation with Michelle Obama, to whom much is given, much is expected. The guilt comes from. Am I doing enough me, Michelle Obama, to say that to a therapist? So let's unpack that. Former first lady Michelle Obama and someone who knows her best, her big brother Craig, will be hosting a podcast called imo. What have been your personal journey with therapy? We need to be coached throughout our lives.
Dan Patrick
My mom wanted us to be independent.
Seton O'Connor
Children, and she would always tell me.
Dan Patrick
Stop worrying about your sister.
Todd Fritz
Having been the first lady of the entire country and representing the country in the world, I couldn't afford to have that kind of disdain. What would you say has been the most hardest recent test of fear? Listen to On Purpose with Jay Shetty on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Paul Pabst
Oh, my God.
Dan Patrick
The play of the day. This is the play of the day.
Todd Fritz
Check this out. Here comes Halliburton. Hits the timeline with 7. Outside the arc with 5. Driving in the lane at the goal. He lays it in with 1 and 3. 10 seconds to Milwaukee has no timeouts.
Dan Patrick
They have to go the length.
Todd Fritz
Paul is going to be played in by atetokounbo. He gets it to Tret and this one is over. Unbelievable.
Dan Patrick
That's courtesy of the Pacers radio network. Tyrese Halliburton has never lost a postseason game at home. He's 9 0. Six of those nine playoff victories have come against your Milwaukee Bucks. For millions of Americans just having that reassurance starting every day by arming their Simply Safe home security system, you can do the same. Simplisafedan.com save 50% on a new system. There's no safe like Simply Safe. Joe in Syracuse. Good morning, Joe. What's on your mind? It's a pleasure to be on. I am five four and an intimidating 145. Thank you for that. You guys are with me every day. I'm a house painter. I bring you with me every day and I listen every day. I appreciate you guys so much. I'm calling because I'm piggybacking on a call from yesterday. Somebody asked what your most difficult call was. I'm calling to since everybody's in a good mood laughing today. One of the funniest calls I've ever heard was when you guys interviewed Mike Tyson a few years ago and he was eating cereal. That was one of the funniest interviews I've ever heard. That was very entertaining. And just you guys make me laugh every day. You're with me every day and Fritzi is just the gift that keeps on giving. I really appreciate you guys. Okay. All right. Thank you, Joe. Yeah, Mike was just crunching on cereal at his kitchen table talking about growing marijuana. Like, sure. Sounds like just a regular day, a regular interview on this show. Joe in Oregon. Hi, Joe. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. Long time. First time. Long, long time. 57185. Thank you for that. Waiting a long time to do this. Hey, I got a perfect spot for you to put your manute bow pants on. The cone of silence over Fritz. You love your Fritzi, but that's a perfect spot for you to put that. All right. Thank you, Joe. Yeah, I have my minute old warm up pants. Not quite sure where to put those. Bob in Portland. Hi, Bob. What's on your mind today? Hey, how you doing? 62195. First time, short time. You know, Todd. First off, Todd, you're great, but the other day you were talking about your fear of wearing the Pants because you lost the masters bet, you're afraid of wearing the pants up there at the award ceremony because you didn't want prospective employers to see you that way. Well, dude, I googled your name, and the first video that pops up, you're late showing up to your desk, and you're wearing a shark suit. And then this whole episode right here, I think you've got far more issues with your next job than what's going on at the awards ceremony. All right, well, thank you, Bob. Yes. Fritzi lost the master's bet, so he has to wear a pair of Dylan's pants. And you know what those pants look like.
Todd Fritz
Yeah. I express concern about that. That a special night like that, it would be kind of disrespecting the event and among our colleagues in the business, that that's probably not the best punishment, at least for me, that, you know, I would prefer to show up dressed properly on that night.
Dan Patrick
What do you think the punishment should be there?
Todd Fritz
I don't know, but I know I would like to. You know, I plan to, and I'd like to be able to dress accordingly on that particular night and not make it like a kind of a goofy bit on sports Emmy night. I think that's fair.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Todd Fritz
Fair concern.
Seton O'Connor
Maybe what we should do is not punish Todd, but when we win the Emmy that night. Oh, we should punish the sports Emmy crowd by making Todd go up and do the acceptance speech. For all the times that we were nominated and didn't win, this would be like, gotcha.
Dan Patrick
We were asked who will give the acceptance speech. They reached out. Now, I don't. I think they do that for everybody who's nominated. I don't think it means we're winning, but they did want to know everybody's job title that's listed on the show. And I said, there's only 12 people who work on the show.
Seton O'Connor
Do they always ask that, or.
Dan Patrick
I think they do, because I think somebody was trying to say. Mario was trying to say he was the director, but he wasn't because he. The big German, was the director this past year, But Mario, he. He said that he was the director, and then they. They refuted that, and they realized that we have two directors, and there's only one.
Seton O'Connor
Sounds like a lot of drama, I'll tell you that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yes. But now I think we've been caught in a lie. Now, I don't know what that's gonna mean to us, winning or losing. Yes, Todd.
Todd Fritz
But there have been shows with names of producers that don't Even exist. I thought in the past, at least this person's an actual human being. As far as his title could be a little different. But he does exist in space, in the world.
Dan Patrick
That did happen. I think it happened to the mothership. They were putting names on there. And everybody wants a sports Emmy. But Yeah, there's only 12 of us. And you guys have a variety of jobs here now. I don't know if we get to list, you know, collecting the guard, taking the garbage. Marvin takes the garbage out better than me. Yeah, of course.
Todd Fritz
I'm a team player. I don't care what anybody says.
Dan Patrick
No, you're not. No, you're not. By the way, the Belichick story is not going away. It went from Sunday morning and on CBS to now. It's become sort of a national conversation. TMZ is involved in this now. They, they're asking people behind the scenes, what's going on with Bill Belichick's girlfriend. And look, he can date whoever he wants, but when she starts to impact the program, I think that's when you can start to ask questions. She's interrupting the interviews that he did, taking over his career. For a guy who was a control freak, that's what's really surprising about this, that he's just saying now this is according to people who are covering the team, that there's a kind of a mystery of what's going on here. And Bill has given her a lot of power, autonomy there. And I think that's where the concern is of this, this team. Her role in this. Does she have a defined role? Does she have an office there? Does she have a title? But I think, and we'll talk to somebody who covers the team here in about 10 minutes, that there's more than just, you know, a 50 year age difference between him dating her. But it's, it's kind of wild because you would never think that Bill would relinquish any kind of control, but it does feel like that's what's happening here. And if you're North Carolina, I mean, I, I would just want to know. Just clue me in on what's going on here. Bill. Yeah, Paulie.
Paul Pabst
And the CBS Sunday Morning segment, I'll bet you almost nobody saw it live. But the clips from it, they keep putting out more clips because now it's in context, it's becoming a bigger story. And CBS is posting new clips of different elements of the interview and injections by his girlfriend.
Dan Patrick
But it should have been covered as a news story as well. It's an interview I would have done if this happened to me. I would have said, let's just make this, you know, a story. Let, you know, let do a story and I'll include some of the interview. But this is really a bigger picture than just Bill is trying to sell a book. It seems like there's a lot more involved in this. One hour in the books, two more to go.
