We made it to a Thursday. It's hour one. Happy birthday to me. Can we keep going? All righty. You didn't see that coming. I did not. I did not see that coming. Every time I walk by Fritzi this morning, he'd be like, happy birthday. I go, okay. And he wanted to be first, too. It was really important. Did I wake you, like, at 12:08am When I said that? Text? Yeah, you. I get the text message late at night, and I'm like, okay, my. One of my daughters is traveling. My wife goes, who is it? I go, fritzi, what's he want? I go, it's a text. I didn't call you. I was gonna call you. I know, I know, I know. But you did. You sent a Happy birthday. You wanted to be the first person, but you weren't. I was not. The Miami heat broadcaster Jason Jackson beat you to the punch. Very competitive. Yes. Jackson. Yes. Yes. All righty. 8773-DP-SHoVE Email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle At DP show we have Ross Tucker, our good buddy. He'll look at the NFL schedule. Jason Kidd. The mav said coach Mike Tirico will stop by as well. Your phone call is always welcome. Operator Tyler. Sitting by 8773-DP-show tonight, Thunder and the nuggets. The nuggets are favored by a couple of points, two and a half points and maybe a little bit more than that against the Thunder. And I have the point spread here. I have the point spread. To be exact, Thunder are getting four and a half tonight against the nuggets, I think. Nope. Thunder favored. Thunder favored against the nuggets in Denver. Okay, what do you think the point spread is for the celtics and the Knicks tomorrow night in New York. Go, New York. Go New York. Go, Marvin. Celtics favored by three and a half. Celtics favored in New York. Okay, Paul. Knicks favored by three and A half. All right. Brizzy Celtics favorite by four and a half. Seaton Knicks, one and a half. The Knicks by two and a half. Two and a half. Who is there? Going to be some pressure. Whole lot of pressure. We'll recap. You know what happened. And as we head into that game six in the garden. Celtics rolled. We're not surprised. We thought you would get your role players, other players who would step up. I mean, it's nice to say Jalen Brown and Derrick White are role players. They're stars. One was an Olympian. One was the mvp. Yes, Marvin, both were Olympians. You said Derek White and Jalen Brown, you said they were role players. One was an Olympian. Yeah, I said both of them were Olympians. Oh. Oh, no. I'm so. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. That's a lie. You're right. There's so many Celtics, I forgot. Forgive me. Jayson Tatum was the one on the bench. Galen Brown didn't make the Olympic team. Not happy about it either. Yeah, I think it was a big conspiracy about shoe deals. How about we. How about we start all over? Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Come on, let's rally. Let's do it. Celtics over the Knicks. New York up 3, 2. I'm just saying, I hope that's not a bad omen for a family Feud. Marvin goes. Oh, oh, okay. So if Steve Harvey asked the question, we surveyed 100 NBA analyst players who were on the Olympic roster. Jalen Brown. So don't do that. Okay, I don't think that's true, but show me Jalen Brown. Stevie, Steve Harvey will start walking to the other team as soon as I said it. He'll look at the camera. Yeah, the Eisen team can steal this year. All right, so this is our last show before we go to Atlanta, and then we will tape Family Feud tomorrow. We not able to do our show. We tried to do our show down there, but ran into some logistical issues. But we will be ready to go recapping everything on Monday. I don't know what I wanted to have teen uniforms, like jumpsuits. I. I thought maybe it would be fun to get something like that. But then I thought, okay, maybe I'm. I'm trying too hard with this. Maybe let's just go down there and just be normal people on a normal game show. That's all. Yes, Todd, if we were playing Le Batard's team, that's probably a good bet that they would have, like, wigs and sweat outfits on. Stat of the Day, brought to you by Panini America. Forthcoming PGA Championship getting underway at Quail Hollow Hollow Thunder Nuggets game six Tonight, the NFL schedule release party. And the Timberwolves said goodbye to the artist formerly known as the Golden State Warriors. We'll talk about that. What is their future? What's Steph Curry's future with Golden State and what can they do to maybe make one more run here? I think Golden State is the highest valued NBA team right now, which I find surprising because really it's interchangeable. You either have stars or you don't. The Lakers franchise, it's still the Lakers franchise and we've seen where they haven't been great, but they're still the Laker franchise. Golden State, that just seems like it's attached to Steph Curry. Because if Steph Curry leaves, I don't think anybody cares about Golden State. Yeah, Paulie. Yeah. If CNBC a month ago had valuations of NBA teams and it's a combination of who owns the stadium revenue, worldwide revenue is a big part of it. The Golden State warriors are valued at 9.4 billion, almost 2 billion more than the New York Knicks. The New York Knicks at 7.5. Lakers, 7 billion even. Yeah, but see, it feels like the Knicks once again. It's the Knicks. It's the Garden. That's different than Golden State. Yes. You can own the building and it's in downtown. You know, it's in San Francisco, which, okay, I would think property values have dipped considerably in the last few years there. This is attached to Steph Curry. The Knicks. Knicks is not really attached to one person. It's the Knicks. But the last 10, 12 years, Steph Curry, the value that he's provided with Golden State. But when he goes, Jonathan Kaminga is not gonna bring in or Kayvon Looney and whoever else, even Steve Kerr coaching, that's not gonna get eyeballs there. But the Timberwolves, they were favored by 11. They won by 11. The Celtics were a slight favorite, but they blow out. The knicks, they shot 45% from three point range. And you know, you had Derrick White and Jalen Brown who played well. You know, they had some role player guys. These guys are dying to play. You know, when they come in, they want to prove themselves. Cornet came in I think he blocked seven shots. You know, you got a pretty good balanced team there last night. And after the game, the Celtics head coach, Joe Missoula talked about Jalen Brown's leadership. Joe, Jalen had A game high 12 assists. What did you see from him both in terms of his facilitating, getting everyone involved, but also the leadership that he demonstrated tonight? Yeah, I think his leadership came on the defensive end, just with his physicality and his presence. Got to dive into the bench kind of changed the game for us. You know, there was other game changing plays, but I thought that was one of them. So he was just great on all levels. Just took it, you know, took it upon himself to guard Brunson, set the tone and he did that on both ends. Yeah, he played great, but he's supposed to play great. You know, the guy's getting paid $300 million. You can't go, man, that Jalen Brown can play. He was the MVP of the finals last year. He should be great. And Derrick White should be great as well. You know, the disappointing part, obviously not having Tatum. Porzingis, you know, with health reasons, has not played well at all. And now you go to the Garden and there was all the pressure on the Celtics to start the series. Now there's no pressure. They're not even favored in this game, Game six. And you have a built in excuse, not that you're going to use that, but you can, hey, we didn't have Tatum. Porzingis wasn't healthy. If they had been healthy, really, the. The Celtics shouldn't even be in this position. Those first two games at home, you blew those. That really you should be advancing, you know, with or without Tatum. But you know, you played well last night. The first two games you didn't shoot well. You shoot 45% from three point range, you're going to win if you're Boston. But now you go back to New York and is there a bigger New York game? When's the last time you can remember a game of this magnitude in the Garden? I don't know if you go back to the NBA Finals in 1999, but then they didn't have Ewing back then. But still you're in the NBA Finals. Yes, Marvin, I'm probably gonna say game seven, 1994 NBA finals. Okay. Because in 1999 they were already down three one. They got there as an eight seed. So I think them getting to the finals was already a win in 99. Okay. All right, that's fair. Yeah, Paulie. And if you get past Boston, nothing Against the Pacers. But that team seems like a team you could get by. You're not facing a prime Giannis or something like that. Yeah, yeah, well, either. You know, I think both these teams, Boston against Indiana, would, would still be a competitive matchup there. It just wouldn't be that prohibitive favorite that Boston would be. And if the Knicks play the Pacers, they've done that before. You had injuries affect the last time that they played, but. And then you got the Nuggets, who are underdogs at home tonight, which I find interesting. I still think it's going to seven games here. But Minnesota's ready, they're waiting. And Minnesota was there last year as well. The schedule release. I think there was really only one thought that I had and that had to do with what does the NFL know that we don't know right now? And it has to do with the Steelers because the Steelers, they're in prime time three times in a four week span. Week seven, eight and ten. I don't think they're a great team. I don't think they have anybody that gives you a tune in factor. If they do, it might be Mike Tomlin, maybe, maybe T.J. watt. I guess you're putting the Steelers on great, great fan base. Probably get a lot of eyeballs when the Steelers play. I understand that. Does, does the league ask the Steelers where do they stand with Aaron Rodgers if you're going to put out the schedule? First game of the season, jets and Steelers. Okay. We knew they were going to play. We. I'm surprised that that's the opening week now, granted. Justin Fields, former Steeler quarterback, now playing for the Jets. Okay, that's not enough to go. Oh, that's appointment viewing. Can the NFL, can the schedule makers say we need to place a call to the Steelers? Help us. We want to, we want to decide week one. Would you ask that? I mean, I would. I'm. I'm. This is entertainment. I, I'm. I'm providing a TV schedule. I need to know if the stars are going to be there. And I would ask, but I don't know if. What's Pittsburgh said. Let's say they know Aaron Rodgers is going to play, but Rogers is just deciding that he's going to wait a little bit. Hey, Mr. Rooney, the commissioner here. Oh, hey, Commissioner. This is awkward, but you know, I'll just, I'll just say it. Is Aaron gonna play for the Steelers? You planning on having him for week one? How about you tap the phone twice if he is? Okay. All righty. Thank you. Yes, Todd, I would respond with we're interested, but you might want to call Aaron Rodgers and see where his head's at. Well, no, no, the Steelers already know that there's a handshake agreement. They could say that, you know, you know, don't go public with this. But there's something public. No, but there's something. There's something in place, but I can't 100% guarantee that until the paperwork. Okay, who thinks Aaron Rodgers is playing for the Steelers and that's why they have the Steelers in the Jets Week one? All right. Fritzi Paulie, Marvin Seaton. No, you don't. I think Aaron Rodgers might be playing for the Steelers. I don't think the league called the Steelers and was like, hey, is Aaron coming? And they were like, yes. Okay, great. We'll schedule you more. Okay. But I don't believe that at all. And if. If that was the case. It is. That's got to be like, grossly illegal or something like that. Like, you can't. That. If that was the case, then good luck ever disproving that the league is rigged. But who's going to bust you on it? The only thing I would say is who's going to go, ah, gotcha. I don't know, maybe one day the Steelers let it slip or something like that. But you can't. If you're the league and you're just trying to schedule games and your whole league. The whole, like, thing that the NFL is based on is no matter what we do, where we play, when we play the game, what day of the week we're going to dominate. Yes. Why the hell do you care if, like, I don't know, is he, Aaron Rodgers, going to play for the Steelers? We just have to get this Monday night game right. That you're going to get it right anyway. It doesn't matter. Oh, I think if Aaron Rodgers plays, you get a far bigger number than if you know it's Mason Rudolph. But it's not going to be like, well, only 5 million people watch it, but Aaron Rodgers is here and 45 million people watched it. Amazing. Yes. Not going to be that different. Yeah, Fritzy. But if I'm a network paying billions of dollars in rights fees, I'd kind of be interested in knowing if my game is going to have Aaron Rodgers playing or not in the game that I was excited about thinking that it was going to be Aaron dressed in black and gold. So maybe it's just a coincidence that it's Jets Steelers Justin Fields against Maybe Aaron Rogers. Oh, wait a minute. Justin Fields is in on it too. That now we really got something. No, I'm joking. Kid can't play. No, I'm, you know. Yeah, I understand. That's the joking part of it. Yeah, the Fields isn't a really. This is me doing the joke too. Okay. Yes, Marvin, but I think the Steelers brand is enough to get you three prime time games no matter who it's against. No, the Steelers, Steelers are one of the biggest brands in the NFL and Aaron Rodgers doesn't mean anything. You said it like it was the Jaguars. Well, then you don't have to put them in prime time. They're going to get ratings no matter where they are. Right. But if the Steelers are prime time, that's even better. Well, you're getting, you're getting numbers because they're the Steelers. Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter who's playing quarterback. Right. That's why the Aaron Rodgers thing doesn't matter because it's the Steelers. But it's, I think, I think in this case, opening the season, Steelers, Jets. Now, is Pittsburgh going to tell them anything? Can they tell them, I would at least ask and say, hey, we're planning on putting you guys on first week. You know, any indication of Aaron Rodgers situation? They don't have to answer it, but I would certainly ask that question. Yeah, Paulie, I agree that the Steelers are a strong brand, but I don't think the NFL would leave any stone unturned. They don't do that. They try to squeeze every rating point out of everything. And if they could have one of their underlings call the Steelers and say, just tell me which way the wind is blowing the day before we do our schedule, that's a bonus. And that's, remember, they're in business. They work with each other. The commissioner and the Steelers work together. They're partners. They're not in adversaries in any way. So yes, I would find out. Well, the schedule release with Rich Eisen, Rich was like, oh, this means Aaron Rodgers is going to play against the Jets. I mean, I think all indications are Jim Nance was talking about, hey, Aaron, we'd love to have you on, we'd love to have you on all of our games with cbs. You know, like there was open rooting for Aaron Rodgers to play for the Steelers. All right, so we'll go settle on a poll question here. We'll get to your phone calls. Coming up, playoffs last night as Golden State is out, what's next for them? If you're Steph Curry, how long do you want to play in this situation? I know there's a lot of money at stake and I don't know how important it is for one more title. If you look at LeBron James, Nick Wright joined us yesterday. He said what about LeBron back to Cleveland and he plays for whatever the veterans minimum to try to win another title. Does he a better chance with the Cavs in the East? Could you see a scenario like that as opposed to the west, which is stacked? We'll take a break. We'll settle on our poll question. It's a meet Thursday, by the way, since we won't have a meet Friday. We'll have the menu coming up. We'll take a break. Back after this Dan Patrick Show. Listen to the American west with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. We'll settle on a poll question today. By the way, it's a meet Thursday since we'll be traveling and not able to work. Tomorrow we'll be taping the Celebrity Family Feud and we're hoping to go to Magic City where they have wings. They're known for their wings in Magic City. Just don't know if we're going to be able to make it. There should be a curfew tonight. There should be a bed check tonight in Atlanta as we get ready for Family Feud. I hope you guys are being serious about this. Marvin. A bed check you say? Yes. All right, all right. Yes. Paul. I have never been to Magic City. Just putting that on the record. But if you go and it's your birthday, there has to be some type of special treatment. Yeah, I don't know if I need special treatment. Just treat me like James Harden. That's. Oh, you put your number in the raft. Make it rain. Dan Harden. Yes, you are 877 3DP show. We will get to your phone calls. Coming. Oh no, I just got terrible news right now. What? Or terrible or greatly terrible or terribly great okay, how about we guess the terrible or terribly great news? You want to give us a hint? It has very much to do with the conversation we were just having. Magic City is closed for renovations. No. Then everything's fine. Do you want to guess, Marvin? Magic City's kitchen's closed? No. No. Okay, not that I'm aware of. I don't know any of those details. Okay. As far as I know, they are still open for business. They are still serving wing. Okay, Paul, Magic City doesn't open till like 10 at night. I don't have that information. So your news has nothing to do with Magic City. It's very much has everything to do with Magic City. Okay, Magic City is. I have less than one mile from the hotel, a five minute drive or a 19 minute walk. Wow. Walk of shame. We can count the city blocks. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Is there an ATM? Hold on, let me add a stop to my directions here. Okay, is that, is that great news or terrible news? Todd? I think it's great news. It's almost too convenient to not go. I mean, at this point it's close enough that we accidentally walk by. It's true. Now, I did get dinner reservations. Okay, where? Around the hotel. Let's see, we need. I. I think. I don't know if. But it's an Italian restaurant that's in the area there. Because I don't want to do and, you know, say where we're going to be. And then, you know, the fans treat me like, you know, Lionel Messi when he shows up at a restaurant. Thousands of people. Just going back to your CNN days. Yeah, we've been waiting for you. Yeah. Be screaming outside. He's back. He's back. Yes. All right. Off air, I guess. Give me the name. I will rest. All right, hold on. You know, I'm gonna walk in. Can you whisper it to me? I'd have to get my phone. Okay. All right, why don't you guys talk amongst yourselves and then I can. I just want. I'm just trying to plan. It's a little logistics, that's all. Let's just try to get our day together. Get our night together. All right. Oh, well, I'll see if I can find the restaurant. Mercedes Benz Stadium. Right around the corner too. Mercedes. All right, so the main stage. To the main stage, Mercedes Benz. Over. Told you Peaches can help us with family. Few questions. Cinnamon to the main stage. Maybe Steve Harvey wants to join us tonight. They're practicing the Champagne Room or something. I don't know. Yes, Paulie, when you're at Magic City and you order lemon pepper, do you get wings or a dancer? Ooh, lemon pepper. Lemon piper. Okay, so we do have lemon. We have lemon pepper wings. Yeah. Buffalo wings. Teriyaki wings. We have smoked shrimp cocktail and we have Caesar salad today. Who has it better than we do? Nobody. Now, I did say to Dylan, who's cooking this? I said, well, do we want wings if we're going to have wings tonight at Magic City? They're known for their wings. And he said, just in case not everybody goes to Magic City tonight, that you'll get your share of wings. All right, poll question today. Seaton. And then we're going to do the get in price for the Knicks game on Friday night. The get in and then the most expensive ticket as well. All right, that'll be fun. Last after last night. This is from Marvin. After last night, who's the greatest Celtic of all time? Bill Russell, Larry Bird, John Havlicek, Jason Tatum. Lou Cornette. Funny you didn't put Jalen Brown on there. Not after last night. Okay. Derek White. Not after last night. I did see the big cornet. I did. He was going crazy. I know. Hakeem Cornette last night, like a Corn Nation coronation cornet. I'll workshop that. A workshop done. Let's see. That's one important poll question. Okay, we have one here from Paul. I'm now rooting for Boston to come back or New York to close it out. Oh, I'm rooting for a game seven. Yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. What result are you hoping for? It doesn't matter. Couldn't. I couldn't care less of what happens in game seven. I want to get to a game seven. Gotta admit, I don't know that the Knicks have the stones to close out game seven. Wow. I don't know that they have it in them in their constitution to do that. I don't think that. Wait. They have one of the great closers in the game and Jalen Brunson. Celtics are getting two and a half at the Knicks Friday night Thunder are giving four and a half against the Nuggets tonight. Okay, the. The get in price just to get in the door of the Knicks. Marvin's been. Now, are you working Friday night, this game? No, no, no. I'll be with you guys. Oh, I didn't mean. I didn't know if you were coming back and you'd get back in time. Oh, that doesn't make any sense. No, no, no, man, I got to get focused here. I have lost Focus. It's your birthday, though. But happy birthday. Come on. Okay, so the get in price for Friday night Knicks game. Paul, I have it. Who wants to guess it? Okay, this is just one ticket. Horrible seats. 400. Rosie, also, you have a seat. It's not standing room only. No, but stand you. Standing room only is 500. Okay. I'm going to say 800 is the cheapest seat I can get you in for 675. Oh, okay. Maybe get me two and I'll go with Nick. That's kind of refreshing. Like, that wasn't that bad. Yeah. Okay. What do you think is the most expensive ticket in the building? Courtside. Well, those aren't available, are they? There are. I don't think I can buy. Not row one, first three rows behind the bench or near the bench. Okay. All right. So I might be sitting with Andrew Garfield or something like that. Okay. All right. Or, like, is Macarono one or is he two? Three? I would think he'd be one. I think he'd be one. Like, Pete Alonzo is row two and three. Pete Alonzo. Okay, reference. Let's see. Is this how we should do hall of Fame voting, by the way? If you're a front row, like, courtside NBA guy, and then, well, you're more of like a loge. Yeah. Upper deck hall of Famer, third row. You don't have great seats, but that's sort of. What? Great seats. Very good seats. Good seats. That's same thing we're doing. Yeah. The hall of Very good. Yes. Paulie, I found two floor seats. Row A. They don't even say row one. Row A is in front of row one. Row A is where Howard Stern and so forth sit. Two tickets, Row A total cost a pair. This is the celebrity row. $25,000. Robin. You're right. 25,000 each. Oh, it's. I got it at 50. 515 for these two tickets. Dang. Yes. Todd, don't you think that's ridiculous? For one game? It's not even the championship. It's not even there. It's not even. They're hungry. They are hungry. I know. It's been a quarter of a century since they. They got this far to get to possibly get to the Eastern Conference spots. But that's. That's insane. I don't know how rich you are. If I'm spending 50, I want to know who I'm sitting next to. Yes. Okay. And there's people who plan that out, isn't there? Like, it's not just an accident. That Timothy Chalamet and the Kardashians sat next to Cardi B And Stefan Diggs. That's not an accident. No. Right. I don't. Is Tracy Morgan sitting next to me? Is Chris Rock sitting next to me? Tracy Morgan. Has he been back to a game since. Yeah, the incident since he threw up. Yes. Yeah. Boot and rally. That's one of the most amazing pieces of pictures I've ever seen in my entire life is him throwing up courtside. I know. And imagine you're the play by play guy and you're looking down and you. You don't know what's happening to him. And you know, how many times does that ever happen? Have you seen anybody? He is, like, mid. Just the way that it's. It's captured the act that he is in and the handful of people who have caught on to what's happening. And most people have no idea, but there are some people that have that horrified, like, face. Well, whenever you're around somebody who's throwing up, you kind of want to help, but then you really want to get your hands out of the way, like. And then, you know, you may rub their neck or back or something like that. At arm's length. Yeah. You're like, oh, oh, okay, okay. I'm with you. I'm here, I'm here. Yes. It's kind of like, you know, let me. Let me get you something. Let me see. Let me get to the custodian. I'll be right back. You'll be okay. You'll be okay. You would not help out. You would. You would. Absolutely. I would give a gentle pat on the back while I'm jumping out of the way so I'm not getting vomit all over my clothes and looking like I'm gonna go get some kind of help or medical service. All right, all right. Let's settle on a poll quick. We gotta. Come on, let's go. We gotta get together here. I don't know. I think we're way too loose today. Way too loose. All right. Got a poll question, Paul. I have one. What should Steph Curry do next in his career? What should. And the options are play another year with Golden State, but announce it's your last year play, push to play elsewhere or retire. I think he's staying put. I think that. But would you do the I would stay put last year announcement? Well, he could pull the Dan Patrick move and say, hey, this is going to be my last contract. Four years. Yes. That can't come soon enough. But playing with the warriors right Now, I don't appreciate that. I only see. Say it because it bothers you. It's not necessary. I don't like talking about death. You're retiring. Come on. It's same thing. I don't like it. Yes. I. I don't know. Okay. Does another. What's another title do for Steph Curry? It gives you one more than LeBron. Puts him in the five ringers. Yeah, that's pretty solid. That's one away from Jordan. Yeah, but nobody's ever going to be, you know, with Jordan, even if they get to sixth. Yeah, but you're still. You have just as many rings as him, though. That's gotta be pretty cool. Yeah. I think it's more important for LeBron than it is Steph, because Steph is never going to be viewed as, you know, in the conversation, best players of all time. But it does. LeBron's the one who needs another title. If you're saying who needs one more? It's LeBron. Yeah. Paul. Steph Curry's image and legacy is set. He's changed basketball forever. Forever, ever. And after what happened in the Olympics, that was like his career crescendo, possibly. I don't know if Golden State is. I wish they would have gotten Kevin Durant instead of Jimmy Butler. And Kevin Durant didn't want to go. He turned down that poss. You know, that potential trade. I wonder if he would reconsider now in the off season, because he not going to want to stay in Phoenix. And I don't know what KD still has, but if I'm asking him to be the second or third option on that team. And Jimmy Butler's great. Jimmy Butler's always great in his first year with his contract, but, you know, is Draymond part of the future here? And you're going to get this. Well, what could we give up to get Giannis? I think there was talk about this a year ago or two years ago with maybe trying to get Giannis on Golden State, but I. I don't see that happening. I think Steph. And he's making, what, $60 million, too. You got to factor that in as well. That. Do you want to walk away from that? Can he be a second option on a team at some point in his career? Does he hold on for something like that? Can he be kind of the Klay Thompson to, you know, Steph Curry? Can he play that role? But you got to find somebody who could be that number one guy that. And they're not finding that guy anytime soon. Yeah, Paulie, it does feel like Steph has so many other career options after basketball. He could be like Peyton and Eli Manning and say this is it, and maybe not push it an extra year. He's got a production company and game shows. Networks have bend over backwards to have him on a show. I don't think he would do that. Yeah, but if he has those production companies and game shows while he's still playing, why would you give up playing if you're already doing those things? I would say cause his brand is immaculate and would not be not tarnished. What were his numbers this year? Like, he. He probably had a. A substandard season for him. But how many guys would. How many teams would welcome that? Yeah. Sudan. I. I think when you look at other athletes who have done that same thing before. Right. Kobe won an Academy Award. Right. Peyton Manning has been very successful with his production company. I'm sure Tom Brady is doing big things. I'll bet you a million dollars those guys would trade all season playing whatever sport they came from. You know, Tom traded a family, right. So two. He stayed. What? Kobe stayed a long time. Yeah. Because he was getting $48 million. But I think. I think it's even. I don't think it has anything really to do with money. I think it has to do with just being able to play. Right. When you listen to what Kobe said in his goodbye speech, right. He said he's trying to teach his daughters. It isn't about banners and rings. It's about being able to do this every single day. That's what living the dream means. You wake up at five in the morning to go to practice, to go to practice, to go work out. That's the dream. The rings and the adulation isn't so I think that if you're a dude like Steph, like, yeah, production company's cool and all, and he's probably going to make a billion dollars, but that's not what gets him up in the morning. I can't imagine that he would just walk away. You know, there's not an injury. There's not, you know, an Achilles or anything like that. No, he's battled that. But, you know, he's age 37. What. What were his numbers this year? He averaged 24 and a half a game. Down a little bit. 26 the year before, 29 the year before that. Yeah. But his shooting percentages were still great. I just can't imagine giving that up. If. If you can still play at a high level, an all star level. That's what's great for your brand when you're still out there playing. By the way, speaking of a million dollars, I just saw there was something on social media. Tom Brady had a million dollar watch on a Patek Philippe. If you're a watch fanatic, a million dollars, why wear that? Right? Seems dangerous. Was he at an event or was it like his daily watch? Like, you have different ones, like, oh, we're doing something fancy. I'm gonna wear this one tonight. But even then, don't. I don't know, it's like the Kardashians. They let everybody know all the jewelry they had when they were in Paris and then they got robbed. And that trial is going on now. You know, that's where people say, hey, look what I have at my house. And then they go to your house because you have all of those things there. A million dollar watch. Yes, Todd. Yeah, he doesn't need any more attention. Why wear it? Why even have it? You know, you could. It's 9:13pm Whether you're getting it from your phone or you're getting it from a million dollar watch or you're getting it from a little nothing. It just seems insane. Yeah, a million dollar watch. Well, you see, Nadal and Bubba Watson, they play in those watches that are half million dollars. The Richard Melee, Richard Meal. Yeah, something like that. Yeah, but they're like a half million to a million dollars. It was Rick meal, it'd be 47.95. Yes, Todd. And what is the hope or motivation? Someone's like, whoa, that's a nice watch. How much was that? Like, what are you hoping to do? Gain. You want someone to notice it. And like, why do anything unless you're looking for. Maybe somebody gave it. Maybe it was just a gift. Yeah, maybe. Okay, we'll take a break, get to phone calls today, and man, it feels like a Friday. It's a fritzy Friday today. And that scares me. You know, it's funny, too. It's also blow my brains out Thursday turns out, too. Oh, my God. Drive me crazy. Oh, I know. Seaton put his. Seaton put his hoodie up. Todd was talking and he wanted. All of a sudden, people want water now all of a sudden, what is too good? Water. You couldn't have water 20 years ago, but now you can have water. I don't know. I don't know. The morning meeting was, we're talking about water in an airport, and Todd's like, when all of a sudden, you know, did they get water in an airport? I didn't realize that for the last 20 years, I guess they put up these water machines where you can fill up your big container of water. I would think all the places in the airport trying to sell water for 5, 6, 7, $9 would not want that up on the wall between gates where people can line up and get free water. That defeats the purpose of buying a $9 water or charging crazy price. Okay. All right. And when you check into the hotel and they give you those little teeny bottles of water that you can kind of get something out of your eye with not to really refresh yourself. So if I could just, if I can just. Okay, real quick. This segment is a perfect microcosm of toddlers. Okay. He is upset that tickets to the game are so expensive but wants people is also upset that there's free water. Instead of buying the $9 water, I would think the people are selling that water would have a problem with that. Okay. Okay. There is. Todd is why would you wear a an expensive watch? But he's wearing the Ritz Carlton thing that he has on a little jumper. I'm gonna take a 20. What are you wearing for that? Why are you hoping that people say, oh, look at you. I'm gonna take a 20 here? Okay, play of the day is up next. I mean, when he was a rookie on the Lakers, Kobe got ahold of him as a rookie and got in his ear. And it's really cool to see him playing well. He's been through some stuff and that team that they have right there with the young wolves is really fun to watch. And I just want to say good luck to you guys tonight. And if you do draw a blank while at the buzzer, just go with the reasonable suggestions. Thank you Buddha. Thank you, Tom in North Carolina. Hi Tom. Happy birthday. Dan, thanks for taking my call. Yes, I know you're talking to Mike Tirico later, but here's my take on Jordan's motive at NBC. We know Jordan is petty, hates to lose and he can hold a grudge. I think this deal with NBC is going to have very little to do with basketball and a lot to do with promoting his race team and to offset some of the losses from his current lawsuit against nascar. The lawsuit has to do with revenue sharing. The NASCAR offers each team for the upcoming year, coincidentally starting August 3rd, NBC/USA Network is going to is the TV partner carrying NASCAR until the end of the season. The best things in life are on the other side of difficult conversations. But if we're honest, most people run from them, staying silent, missing chances, and holding themselves back. I know this is true because I used to be like that until I realized that negotiation isn't a talent, it's a skill. Skill that anyone can learn. And once I did, everything changed.
