You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Hope you had a great weekend. Gang's all here, ready to go. The lovely and talented Todd, Fritz, Seaton, Marv, Paulie, yours truly and the back room guys. A lot of football to chop up. Baseball, golf. Eagles over the Buccaneers. Chiefs handled the Ravens, Rams over the Colts. Steelers beat the Vikings and we had a tie last night. I think that's the highest scoring tie in the history of the NFL. There's a tie that I believe it was 43, 43 in the AFL and it might have been with the Boston Patriots if memory serves me correctly. But in the history of the NFL, 40 to 40 is the highest tie in history. Merchandise store open for business and you can go to danpatrick.com stat of the day is always brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the program. It's a best and worst of the weekend. Phone calls always welcome. 877 3DP show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your calls first hour. Brought to you by the folks who've been doing it for over 40 years. Tire rack They've been helping us find the right tires for how and what and where we drive ship fast and free. Backed by free road hazard protection. Convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire rack.com the way tire buying should be football Coming up tonight, the jets are on the road, but only a two and a half point underdog against the Dolphins. And the Bengals are getting seven and a half at the Broncos. I was thinking about the Bengals after watching what the Ravens did, the Browns and the Steelers the Steelers are going to have another winning record. I don't think they're a dominant team, but they could steal the division. If you look at the Ravens, that defense has been terrible. And even with Lamar Jackson in in Kansas City, they were getting blown out. Now he may have an injury that'll keep him out for a little while. Which brings me to tonight, the Bengals might be wasting a year. If you have a chance to go out and get Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson, he's going to give you a better chance. Because now if I look at the division, the Ravens don't feel like super bowl contender anymore. You got the Steelers, who are are going to be good. I don't think they're great, but they're beatable. And then you have the Browns. But if I'm the Bengals, you signed up everybody, your best defender, your best receivers, everybody's under contract. Maybe if you got a quarterback in there who could be an upgrade, you could steal that division. And Jake Browning has not played well. I think that they're confident with him. I don't think they want to spend the money either. With Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, you could probably have, you know, Maybe it's a 5th round pick or 6th round pick, but you could get him. And if you're the Giants, you like what you saw with Jackson dart and you got Jameis Winston as his backup. But I was wondering about that. If you're the Bengals, do you survey now that division? Everybody's been outscored in that division and it doesn't seem it. We thought it was going to be a great division. Right now it's not. But take a shot. Do you want to waste another year and Joe Burrow maybe could come back in the playoffs maybe with that turf toe surgery. But I was thinking about that, that that might be something. If you're the Bengals. Okay, you know, we should kick the tires on this because we have a chance here. A lot better chance than people thought. All right. After what happened over the weekend. The super bowl odds updated by DraftKings the bills are the favorites, followed by the Eagles. Packers and Ravens are tied. And then closely behind is the Lions and then the Chiefs. Interesting that the Chiefs now feel like, okay, you get Xavier worthy back and all of a sudden, because that offense wasn't very threatening, now all of a sudden you give Mahomes a play toy. Rasheed Rice will be coming back soon. So now we're going to get a true sense of is Kansas City still that elite team or one of those elite team teams? The Chargers they chargered you, you were three. And oh, and this is, you know, you go west coast, east coast, you have a early call, call time. You're going against a rookie. And I thought Jackson Dart played well enough to keep them in the game. Justin Herbert did not play well. And you know, it's three and oh against Owen, three. That was the surprising part of that, that the. The Giants are the First O&3 team to beat a 3 and O team since 2008. Stat of the day brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. But if you look at this, if you're a Giants fan, you go, okay, we didn't like our quarterback situation. All of a sudden, maybe Jackson Dart is our future. And although they lost Malik Neighbors, he's probably gone for the season. You got a really good defensive line. Got rookie contracts here. I mean, the neighbors thing is big because he's a great receiver. And when I saw him go down, I thought, oh, got an ACL here. But Jackson Dart athletic enough, keep things alive. He's got enough swag. You know, he's not afraid. And I like what I saw him. So did his head coach. Here's Brian Dable talking about Jackson Dart. Look, I got a lot of confidence in our rookie quarterback, but he's a rookie quarterback, so there's going to be mistakes that be made. We know that. There'll be more next week. There was some this week. It's not going to be perfect. Kid's a competitor. I'm sure he'll be the first one to tell you there's a lot that he can do better. We got to continue to help him do it better. But like his traits. I like his toughness. I'm glad we got him. Yeah, I like what I see. I can't imagine what Russ is thinking on the sidelines. It's like, oh, boy, he had a touchdown run, touchdown pass, and it's over.
Seaton
Johnny so happy I made this possible for him.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Todd Fritz
Yes, Todd, but with attitude and gratitude, you can get past these situations.
Dan Patrick
Well, yeah, he's going to have to have both of those to be on the sidelines there.
Seaton
I would imagine in the NFL there is no more supportive backup on any team than Russ.
Dan Patrick
He will give you the impression that.
Seaton
Yes, yes, 100.
Dan Patrick
Yes, he will.
Seaton
No doubt.
Dan Patrick
Yes. The Cowboys and the packers, it's one of those where you, you have a great meal and then there's no dessert. It was like, man, that was good. You know, I'd like to have a nice Piece of carrot cake. Oh, I'm sorry, we don't have dessert. 40 to 40. And that was fun. I thought the Cowboys were going to win the game. We had a. A semi streaming party last night with Shay and Irving and Dylan. Marv was here, and I said to Shay, hey, you should feel good. I think the Cowboys are going to win this game. He goes, danny and I go, no, I do. I think they're going to win. And then at halftime, Dylan and Shea were like, do you really believe I said, yes, I think the Cows are going to win the game. And then they were going to take the halftime odds. I don't know what they bet or, you know, if anybody won anything, but we were watching and I thought, okay, they withstood that first quarter or so, and then I thought, all right, they're. They're. They're answering back. And if I'm a Packer fan, my defense is supposed to be great. It wasn't great. Dallas's defense is bad, and we knew that.
Paulie
Worse than bad.
Dan Patrick
What is. What is worse than bad?
Paulie
A sieve.
Dan Patrick
I. It just felt like anytime Jordan Love wanted to throw deep, you know, it was like, oh, but there were two guys that, you know, that first pass that they threw, there were two guys that were open. Somebody needs to tell golden, this ain't Missouri. This ain't college. You. You can get away with those things when you're returning a kick or.
Seaton
He got rocked on that play.
Dan Patrick
Absolutely.
Seaton
Crush.
Todd Fritz
What are you doing? Spinning.
Dan Patrick
I know he did a little pirouette, and then he also caught a pass, and then he tried to go, you know, like, I'm going to reverse field, and I go, you can't get away with that.
Seaton
By the time his eyes came back around, he just saw a gigantic man's face, helmet to helmet with him. And that was, yeah, brutal.
Dan Patrick
It's like. But, you know, it's a tie, and a lot of people probably were like, wait a minute. Yeah, in the regular season, you can have a tie. Not in the postseason. Here is Jerry Jones talking about a tie and taking a shot at his former player. I don't want to. That game was a. Probably a great game for the NFL as far as a showcase for the game and competition because you had outstanding quarterback play. You had some very talented people out there playing. You certainly had one of the most expensive players in the history of the NFL out there playing. And so I guess everybody was going to take a look tonight and decide, is he worth all day? Why. Why is he taking a shot at Mike and Parsons here. Yeah, Paul.
Paulie
If you watch that game, though, Parsons got bottled up for the most of the game. And by the way, I'd like to file a little protest. That was not a sack on that last play.
Dan Patrick
No, it wasn't.
Paulie
Dak Prescott was running forward, which does not nullify a sack, but he just crossed the line of scrimmage. And I looked at the spot. The spot's a foot ahead. So that means if you cross the line of scrimmage is not a sack. Yeah, but a lot of people cash that check yesterday.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but it was. I think it was over is over. Under was 3/4 of a sack. Does that sound right, Marvin? Yep. I know Shea and Dylan. One took the over, one took the under, but yeah, no, it was fun to watch. Certainly back and forth, it was just 40 to 40. Yes.
Todd Fritz
Todd, you said it was like not having. Getting dessert afterwards. I would go even a step further, especially for those of us on the east coast that stayed up fully after midnight. That's like being handed the bill as well at the restaurant. Not only you're not getting dessert, you're paying for everybody sitting there and watching it. Ending the time.
Dan Patrick
Here is Micah Parsons talking about his late game tackle. With the game on the line.
Todd Fritz
It's just all about not letting my teammates down, going 100% every play. You know, I owe it to every person, organization, every person in that locker room to get my absolute best every time. So I don't look at the play as like, you know, I think, like, I'm here and on this podium because I'm supposed to make that play, not because it's like, oh, my God, he made a play. Like, I'm supposed to make that play. I'm supposed to help our defense. That's the reason why I was brought here. Like, making plays is what I'm supposed to do. Taking over games is what I'm supposed to do. I don't think that, like, I should be rewarded for that play. Like, that's the reason why I'm here.
Dan Patrick
I agree. Should have made some more plays. That would have helped. But that defense, I was a little surprised there. That. And you know, and they're not. They don't have cd. Lamb Pickens played great. Dak played really well. I thought that, you know, once again, offense seems to be okay, but CD is going to be out for a few more weeks. But Pickens played well. Yeah.
Paulie
Paul, at the end of overtime, the packers cruise down the field in third. Yeah. And just. They're all set. But then on third down, they don't make it. So it's fourth and 14. And it appeared that they didn't even consider going forward on 4th and 14. Why don't you go for the win there if you're the Packers.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
Against a horrible defense.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. You got to come out with something. You can't come out with a loss. That's. That's too far to go for fourth down. Yeah, I know it's the Cowboys, but I. And you're supposed to go for the win on the road, but it's got it. And I don't know what the analytics would say with that. Like, I. And maybe it says no certain yardage. You don't. Or certain place on the field. I don't know that. But I, I understood what they were doing. I didn't like that they were going to do that. But. But that's just me as a fan. You're. You can't come out with a loss. You, you can't put up 40 and come away with the loss. And I think if you're Green Bay, you got some work to do here. And I don't think we thought that after we saw what they did to Detroit and Detroit all of a sudden has come back and I mean, granted, they're playing the Browns. We don't know what we have with Minnesota. I think that that's another one to keep an eye on because, you know, this isn't JJ McCarthy yet. Carson Wentz is a. A good backup quarterback, but he made some really bad mistakes late in the game there. The numbers are deceiving there. But now you got to wonder, JJ McCarthy going to be able to play and, you know, injury prone. And it's a good team. They're ready to win now. It's sort of like the Bengals that, you know, now you got to find out, do you bring in another quarterback? Are you comfortable with Carson Wentz? I don't know J.J. mcCarthy's time frame here, but watching that, I was like, I don't know. I'm not quite sure. All right, we'll come back, we'll get to our poll question. There's baseball to talk about, golf to talk about, college football to talk about. And we will talk to you about that with best and worst of the weekend, what you saw that you liked, you didn't like. Shane Irving will join us to recap the tie. We're back after this. I've been a Danette for many years. As a matter of fact, it's one of the longest relationships I've ever had in my life, longer than actually my wife. And one of the things I've learned in that time is that most athletes elevate performance through better nutrition. And here's the thing. Your pets aren't much different. Your pets need quality protein to build lean muscle, balanced nutrition to maintain energy, and proper hydration to support recovery and thrive regardless of their preferred form of exercise. That's why gold medalists like Simone Biles and Caleb Dressel, they trust Nulo for their own pets. And they understand that champion performance starts with what goes into their body. Nulo is loaded with premium protein that builds and maintains muscle. Their low carb formula prevents those midday crashes. So your pet stays in the game all day. And their mix and match options help you customize nutrition for your pet's specific needs, like a pro athlete's meal plan. The bottom line is, champions don't leave performance to chance. And neither should you. My dogs, I have got three of them, and they absolutely love new loads. You should visit nulo.com that's n u l o.com to fuel. Incredible.

It was last week when Paulie said that he thought he had witnessed the greatest throw in the history of throwing Justin Herbert. He rolled left, he threw back right through a touchdown pass. We talked to his head coach, Jim Harbaugh, about that throw. And then Paulie goes, I think I found a better throw than Justin Herbert. I said, wait a minute, wait a minute. You. You declared this the greatest throw in the history of mankind. Did it last a week?
Paulie
It lasted a week.
Dan Patrick
Okay, are you ready? Yes.
Paulie
Okay. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys second and seven in overtime. 37. 37. He rolls right and gets rushed. He starts rolling backwards and right and he has to jump. He's about to get hit in the chest. He throws the ball from his 47 to the 3 and hits Jalen Tolbert. It was unreal.
Dan Patrick
That's the greatest throw ever.
Paulie
Maybe throw, catch, combo.
Dan Patrick
Oh, now we're doing combo.
Paulie
When I saw the ball being thrown, I'm like, well, that's a throwaway. That was silly. And not many guys can make that. He's so strong. But that is. It may be better.
Dan Patrick
It's the greatest throw of all time ever.
Paulie
And I'll never replace it until next week. I just sent it to you guys.
Dan Patrick
I think it was a desperation heave. It was.
Paulie
But it.
Dan Patrick
He.
Paulie
He kept it alive.
Dan Patrick
Receiver had to come back and it.
Paulie
Was a receiver bailout.
Dan Patrick
I'm gonna. I'm gonna give credit to the receiver.
Paulie
Rbl.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. The greatest throw I've ever seen. I go, yeah. Justin Herbert. No, I've got a new one.
Paulie
All right. Top seven all time.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Marvin.
Todd Fritz
So it's the combination of greatest throw and greatest reception, Is that what we're saying?
Dan Patrick
I guess. Now.
Todd Fritz
Okay.
Paulie
Regular season on a Sunday.
Dan Patrick
Okay. I gotta qualify in a game that ends in a tie. Yes.
Paulie
By far the best.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right. Can we come up with something? NFL's in the entertainment business. Paulie has had an idea about getting rid of ties. Regular season ties in the NFL. And I think he's onto something, but I think it needs to be workshopped a little bit more.
Paulie
Okay. Briefly, before a game starts, each head coach gives to the refs what their kicker can max out as a kick if the game goes to overtime, ends in a tie. It's very rare. It happens three times a year, maybe. And so Brandon McManus and Brandon Aubrey.
Dan Patrick
Right, Mr. McManus.
Paulie
So Aubrey's head coach would say, my guy can hit it from 68 yards. McManus's coach would say, I could hit it from 66 yards. Nobody knows. And at the end of the game last night, instead of everyone going, oh, it's a tie, the announcers would have revealed that Cowboys have the ball with a chance to kick a 68 yarder for the win or the loss with Brandon Aubrey, because they said they would go for the farthest field goal to end it. They line up against the Green Bay packers defense, and it's a real field goal try. He makes it, they win, he misses it, they lose. No chance of a tie in an NFL game. Your thoughts.
Dan Patrick
Now? We're kind of tired of things coming down to a kicker, so I. But I think you got to be aware of that, that we're kickered out.
Paulie
Then we would have to go with the college way where you.
Dan Patrick
No, I don't want that.
Paulie
Which is a two point conversion over and over and over until somebody wins. But college football does not have ties anymore.
Dan Patrick
Okay, how about we do this? Let's Say we start an elimination where you start at the 55 yard line.
Paulie
A kick off.
Dan Patrick
Yes. And there's no defense. I just put the kicker out there with the holder in the long snapper.
Paulie
I like your idea, but I think the purists will be mad that there's no defense out there for the chance of the block. And there's been more blocks this year than in the past 10 years, but both work because it prevents a tie.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, we got to workshop that a little bit. Yes, Todd.
Todd Fritz
And with no defense, then it's just like one of those college game day kicks to just got to make money through a scholarship. You got to kind of have something competitive going on. And what. What happens if both coaches pick the same yard line for the kick? Then they both get a chance to kick it. And then what if they both make it or miss it? Then you got to, you know, then you never see.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, we got to workshop this, right? Yeah. Yeah. Seaton.
Seaton
So I don't like the idea of picking your distance, but I do like the idea of it coming down to sort of a field goal off.
Dan Patrick
Mm.
Seaton
I do like that. Where say I. I like the 2 point conversion thing too. Endless 2 point conversions until somebody wins.
Dan Patrick
I like that a lot.
Seaton
A lot. But if. Maybe if you start, say like at the 30 and each team kicks from the 30, and then you go to the 35 and each team kicks and then you go to the 40 and you have to go until a team misses and the other team makes it. I could get behind that.
Dan Patrick
I think it would take too long for that. I think. Let's. You can build the drama at 50 because it feels like, man, 50, 50 used to be a long field goal. Now it's not. But I think you could go 50, 55, then get to 60, and then go 61, 62. Yes.
Todd Fritz
And each team's allowed to do the leverage play that Denver got burned by against the cold. I think you should be able to.
Dan Patrick
That would make it exciting.
Todd Fritz
They can climb on top of each.
Dan Patrick
Other to try to block it. Yeah.
Todd Fritz
Just on that situation.
Paulie
But my kickoff, you have the reveal of the yardage, which the announcers can do. That's build some anticipation. And it's over in 60 seconds.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Someone's lining up. Miss block, hit it.
Dan Patrick
But then you're gonna. If you miss the kick, then I have. There has to be a score that is revealed that says I won the game. It's going to be 40, 40.
Paulie
So obviously if. If Brandon Aubrey hit last night, under my new plan which is gonna happen. It'd be 43. 40 if he misses. Is it 40? 40. What do they do with Seaton? Parentheses, parentheses, one minus three.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, like, see, that's an ugly box score.
Paulie
We can work that out.
Seaton
I think you're on the. I think you're on the.
Paulie
The scent of it, because remember, Americans hate ties. It's the only sport in our country, really, where you could have ties. I know hockey. And there's no ties in hockey at all anymore. Right. Even regular season shootouts. So they got rid of ties to be commonplace in hockey generation.
Dan Patrick
Shay and Irving joining us on the program. How do you feel after the tie?

I feel disgusted, Danny. I feel. I feel European. I feel weak. I feel sad. I feel embarrassed to be a part of something that allows that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but you. There's some positives there. I mean, you didn't lose.
Listener Caller
I'll tell you the one positive, Danny, the one positive is that the unemployment line should have one more person in it. That clock operator needs to be investigated. You're in overtime with a magically 1 second left after Jordan Love gambled. No booth replay, no nothing. They zoomed right over it. Where's he from? Who's he married to? Where do you go to school? What's his browsing history? I want to know everything about that man.
Dan Patrick
Wait, it was a home game. It was a home clock.
Listener Caller
I know. Listen, Dallas is a transient city, Danny. There's people from all over the country living there. I want to know.
Dan Patrick
I did tell you that I thought the Cowboys were going to win that game.
Listener Caller
You did, Nostradamus. It was weird. It's strange, but, yeah. You called a whole lot of weird things that happened right in front of my eyes.
Dan Patrick
I know there were a couple of ones. I go, you know what? Blah, blah, blah. And then all of a sudden, it would happen and shave it. I said, no, these are all positives, man. You're going to. You guys are going to win this game. You can win this game, and then you guys could have.
Listener Caller
Danny. The way they let it. Josh Jacobs is running wild in my dreams right now, all over my hopes and happiness. They could not stop him or the run or anything. They don't deserve to win, but they sure as hell don't deserve to tie. Danny. That's weird. We don't like that. Get it away from us. Keep it in Europe.
Dan Patrick
Now, did you get credit? Did you win your bet with Micah Parsons with the one sack?
Listener Caller
Yeah, they gave me credit for that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. That's not a sack.
Listener Caller
Whatever. Danny.
Dan Patrick
But it wasn't, though.
Listener Caller
Cash money.
Dan Patrick
I know. Still wasn't a sack. You know that.
Listener Caller
Okay.
Dan Patrick
All right, well, we'll do another streaming party here soon. Semi. Streaming party.
Listener Caller
Yeah. Right.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
Paulie, a guy I know emailed me about a half an hour ago, heard us on the air. The stats in the NFL are not made official until Monday. They sometimes tweak things. It's not that big of a deal, but the stat people at the NFL, they, like, stamp the stats in the history books on Monday and Tuesday. So I'm not going to say pending, but.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Okay. So Shea may not win that bet. There is no way that we could go live, right, Marvin?
Paulie
Live?
Dan Patrick
What? No.
Listener Caller
No, no, no.
Dan Patrick
The streaming.
Todd Fritz
Absolutely not. No. Heck no.
Dan Patrick
I know, but dp.
Todd Fritz
Hold on, hold on. But you also, between you and Shay.
Dan Patrick
Well, I'm just trying to tee him up a little bit. Just trying to get him going a little bit.
Todd Fritz
Because there was some back and forth between you two. I was like, between the two of.
Paulie
You, there's like, there's no way.
Todd Fritz
That tequila looked good, though.
Dan Patrick
I know. I had some tequila, had a great cigar. We ordered Taco Bell late night.
Paulie
Nice.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
That's a bro fest.
Dan Patrick
Dylan. Dylan's like, yep. For tacos, I go, probably not. Three tacos later, I'm like, thank you, Dylan, for getting some tacos there. It was nice. All right, Seaton Polk question for the first hour. What are you thinking?
Seaton
Well, I think we start with the worst of the week. Worst of the weekend.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Seaton
Got some options here for you. We could start with maybe Team USA and Keegan Bradley. That was a rough weekend. Rough weekend all around there.
Dan Patrick
You know, the players at least came back and made it respectable. The fans did not. The. But, you know, this is the environment that, you know, we've embraced, we've encouraged for the last two years. Oh, wait, you're talking about the fans. Yeah. Wait till Ryder cup gets to Long Island. Beth Page Black. And it. It's become WWE type field now. It shouldn't. And somebody throwing a beer at Rory's wife. Things that were set out there, you know, now it's going to be incumbent upon the European team when this is played in Ireland in two years to say, let's show how, you know, you can still root, have fun, have a, you know, a great atmosphere without it being personal attacks on people. But once again, this was the buildup. This was the hype. If you're a fan, you're going out there thinking, I'm defending my country here. I'm going to be yelling. I'm going to. I'm going to be part of the team here. I'm going to wrap myself in the flag. And, you know, it got ugly. But, you know, Team USA was playing horribly, and the Europeans were celebrating, but Team USA made it respectable. But this is the atmosphere. Yes, Todd.
Todd Fritz
There's always that group of people that are just looking for a reason to act obnoxious and be stupid, as opposed to any kind of pro America kind of rant going on. That's just a little sidebar. You can hide behind the flag. I just want a reason to scream and yell and be a jerk to people.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Paul.
Paulie
It's weird because the usual golf crowd, there's an etiquette around being at a golf event. You kind of dress a certain way, you act a certain way, you're quiet during the backswing. And it's like these golf fans, they throw all the rules out because it's the Ryder Cup. And it's weird because it's the opposite of a normal golf event.
Dan Patrick
I don't think these are golf fans.
Paulie
Right.
Dan Patrick
Because if you go to the Phoenix Open, Waste management, it's a party. That's. That's what. That's the reason why you're going. It's a party, and you'll act accordingly. It's a party. But, no, that's not the way you act normally. But. And it's, you know, it shouldn't be an indictment on everybody who's there, but it feels like it is. You know, there. There's always going to be that element, because you allow that element. Unless you're, you know, escorting people out. There is that element there. But team. Team USA made it respectable. What else do we have? Yes.
Seaton
See Keegan Bradley getting blamed a lot, too, on the course setup.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah, he. He talked about that, that it didn't play the way he thought it was going to play and didn't favor the strengths of Team USA you know, Europe just played great. They played unbelievable those first two days, and then all of a sudden, USA came back and acted like they were great players. It. It just. You see what the Ryder cup means to the Europeans, to Shane Lowry, to Tommy Fleetwood, to Rory. It just means more. And they showed that. I mean, they talk about that. Shane Lowry won a British Open, and he said, this is what I want. This is the moment. This is what I'm most proud of, because it was a team effort. And I think that is sometimes lost on us in what we want with our team. When they're talking about getting paid, who likes one another. You know, they put aside everything. Team, team, Europe. You could feel it. And it's, you know, it's tangible. Yes, Marvin, that feels like that's the.
Todd Fritz
Case in most sports where you talk about even like the Joker, he wins the NBA title. Oh, ho, hum, whatever. But he wins something for his country. It feels like he won.
Dan Patrick
He won a medal. He won a bronze, didn't he? Yes.
Todd Fritz
And he felt like he won the gold medal. Yes, because to them, it feels like international competition for their team and for their country is way more important than the Masters or the British Open or the US Open.
Dan Patrick
Well, it's like Djokovic when, you know, I was told that if he wins Olympic gold, it'll mean more than any of the majors he's ever won. And that's what happened. He talked about that. But, you know, keep in mind that the Europeans have always been a little brother, or at least perceived as a little brother, but they're not. And I think you saw that, that there's that, you know, sort of they were big underdogs. And I think it was, oh, you're going to get eaten up by New York. You know, that. That team Scheffler, nobody can beat Sheffield. You know, all of these things leading up to this. And I think they were like, all right, well, we'll see. And then all of a sudden, you know, it's a snowball effect when one wins, another one wins, somebody makes a putt. You know, the roars or the lack of roars around that course. Yeah, Paulie.
Paulie
The next Ryder Cup, September 17 to 19, 2027. Adair Manor in Limerick, Ireland.
Seaton
Are we still in business?
Paulie
We're still in business. I just checked the calendar.
Seaton
Are we still in business?
Paulie
We should bro out.
Dan Patrick
I've been to Adair Manor. Played the golf course there.
Paulie
Gorgeous, right?
Dan Patrick
Yes. Adair Manor is awesome.
Paulie
You should show us around there.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I'll show you around my manor. Yeah.
Seaton
Dude, that would be sick.
Dan Patrick
And then we would be on in the afternoon, right? Yes, we could do that. Dude, that would be great.
Seaton
You kidding?
Dan Patrick
So when is that going to be?
Paulie
September 17 to 19. 2027. Lots of time to plan, but I'm.
Dan Patrick
Done in February 2028.
Paulie
Yeah. Five months later. That's a nice one to put on the count.
Dan Patrick
Oh, boy.
Paulie
Is it ever seat and fire that one up.
Seaton
I'm writing it in pen and not even pencil.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Todd Fritz
We could all write limericks for Limerick, Ireland.
Paulie
And that one out.
Dan Patrick
No, no. Okay.
Seaton
We're going pros and cons. That's fine. It's fair to do smart.
Todd Fritz
I don't know how you don't do limericks in Limerick, Ireland.
Dan Patrick
All right, maybe one could do one. Maybe one a day.
Todd Fritz
That's, that's fine.
Paulie
He can drive the Mako van overseas.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, we get it on a barge.
Paulie
Yeah, barge it out.
Dan Patrick
I like it.
Seaton
Be there in two weeks.
Dan Patrick
Bring a Traeger grill. Ready to go. All right, sounds good. I'll take that under consideration. What other poll questions are we thinking?
Seaton
We haven't even gotten through the first one, Dan. We barely even scratched the first. The surface on the first one.
Dan Patrick
Then how about I take a break to give you a little more time?
Seaton
Hey, if that's what you want, I'm.
Dan Patrick
Going to do that. I got to get to phone calls here and, you know, there's a lot of things, there's a lot of moving parts to doing busy Monday. I'm sort of the conductor and this is the orchestra.
Seaton
Is this first chair, second chair?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, something like that. Strings? Oh, yeah, an oboe. I wonder if you could do that and, and still pull it off. Like if you got up there and then just started, you know, with the wand a little bit.
Paulie
Oh, as a conductor?
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paulie
It's basically a four count.
Dan Patrick
But if you're, you're already knowing what the music is and then you're just looking at me for timing, you're kind.
Paulie
Of writing a plus sign. Up to the right to the back and up and down is the four count for a conductor.
Dan Patrick
But I would be that mad.
Paulie
Yes. Like I like Bradley Cooper.
Dan Patrick
Yes. I would have long hair and I'd be, I'd be really demonstrative with it. All right, let me take a break. Play of the day is up next. Your phone calls settle on a poll question after this. I've been a Danette for many years. As a matter of fact, it's one of the longest relationships I've ever had in my life. Longer than actually my wife. And one of the things I've learned in that time is that most athletes elevate performance through better nutrition. And here's the thing. Your pets aren't much different. Your pets need quality protein to build lean muscle, balanced nutrition to maintain energy, and proper hydration to support recovery and thrive, regardless of their preferred form of exercise. My dogs, I have got three of them and they absolutely love Nulo. You should visit nulo.com that's n u l o.com to fuel incredible.

Bears block the kick.
Paulie
They blocked the field goal on fourth and three with 32 seconds to go in the game.
Dan Patrick
The Bears block the kick. It might be Josh Blackwell.
Paulie
Got to see the replay to make sure. But the Bears are celebrating.
Dan Patrick
They are going to sneak out of Allegiant stadium with a 2524 win. That's courtesy of the Bears Radio network. That was win number 100 in the regular season for the Chicago Bears. 800. 800 regular season wins. That's franchise win number 800.
Paulie
100 would be that bad after 800?
Dan Patrick
Yes. Todd.
Todd Fritz
Aren't they just compilers though, with that? You know, you play for a certain number of years. They've been around a long time. Eventually you'll get there.
Dan Patrick
800 regular season wins. How many block kicks do you think there have been so far? Paul?
Paulie
9.
Dan Patrick
Marvin 11.
Todd Fritz
Todd 7.
Dan Patrick
Seaton 5. 16. What? Nine field goals, three extra points, four punts so far. Only once in the last 35 years had there been more blocked kicks through the first four games of a season, and that was in 2014 at the stat of the day. Play of the day. Play of the day brought to you by Express Employment Professionals. Business fluctuations make running your manufacturing business complex. But it doesn't have to be. Paulie
Yes, Paul, is somebody smart could look at this stat. I have a theory on the block kicks. Kickers are trying longer kicks with a lower trajectory, giving more odds to getting it blocked. Could that be possible? I don't know. How many of these kicks are 50 plus.
Dan Patrick
Okay, but how does that factor in with extra points and punts?
Paulie
I don't know that those are anomalies.
Dan Patrick
Well, maybe you have. You know, there's a certainly a science to this. It's rare when somebody off the corner off the edge. And that's what happened with the Bears. Off the off the edge. Now it feels like up the middle is where you're getting a lot of these blocks. Gerald McCoy is going to join us on loan from NFL Network. Coming up next hour. I'll ask him. Alrighty. Buddha in San Francisco. Hi, Buddha. What's on your mind?
Listener Caller
Happy Monday, boys. Every day, the Super Bowl. Let's go, baby. Damn, what a month Green Bay has had. I mean, like, they went from being a juggernaut to losing to the Browns. And then last night happens. I mean, that's wild. And when the Dallas Cowboys tie, it's like following Fritzi in the fast lane. Frustrating. Best of the weekend and Dallas vs. Packers coming to an end and end in a tie. And it was just, it was a very entertaining game. And listening to Jerry Jones sound like Dr. Phil and just like spilling and uttering words and being long winded is always entertaining. And worst of the weekend, then while watching the Chargers lose yesterday to a rookie quarterback in New York, I couldn't help but hear your voice in my head, Dan. Like, you've said it so many times on the show, like you just can't jump on that bandwagon anymore. I mean, fool me once, shame on you. And they just lose in such like, chargery ways and they disappoint. Not good.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Buddha. Yeah, I'm watching. And I kept waiting for Justin Herbert to be Justin Herbert, and it never happened. But he got hit 12 times. It's. It's hard to play the position and get hit 12 times. I know the offensive line's a little banged up there, but 12 times. Giants defense is good, but it's not that good. All right, Seaton, did we settle on a poll question?
Seaton
Well, we're kind of going over worst of the weekend See, we did Team USA and Keegan Bradley. If Sam Pittman and Arkansas football, they got absolutely crushed by Notre Dame and he got fired. Yeah, that's unfortunate.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Seaton
You know, the Giants had a win, but Malik Neighbors being hurt, that's not. That's a terrible weekend.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, terrible. Yeah.
Seaton
Kirby Smart, number five Bulldogs, they lost to Alabama. They're still having a great season. But that's a win you want to.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. You lose at home. A stay of execution there for Kaylin DeBoer.
Seaton
Yeah, yeah. That's a week to week basis right there. Let's see some other options. We got Florida State, they got B. Double overtime loser to Virginia.
Dan Patrick
On a Friday night.
Seaton
On a Friday night. Good grief. Penn State and James Franklin, overtime loss at home to Oregon.
Dan Patrick
And. And I'm going to bring this up to Rick Neuheisel. He'll join us later. But is being good, good enough at Penn State now? You know, granted, everything that happened with Paterno and Jerry Sandusky and just having a program that is clean, you can be proud of and they certainly have that. They've sent a lot of players to the NFL. But I mean, the numbers, it's not coincidental. This is, you know, habit forming. It's systemic. When you're 4 and 21 against top 10 teams under James Franklin, you got to win this. Got to win this. You're at home, you got to win. You know, congrats to the Ducks, who have won 23 consecutive regular season games. All right, somebody. But that's where. If, if James Franklin had these numbers at Michigan, he wouldn't have his job. At Ohio State, he wouldn't have his job. Alabama, Georgia, he wouldn't keep his job. But maybe it's just. They're good. But is how long is good? Good enough? Yeah.
Paulie
Paulie in 2021, he was 7 and 6 and there was a lot of articles that said this is it, he's gone the next three years. He won 11 games, 10 games, 13 and three last year in a college football playoff. It's like he's not giving them the opportunity with a bad season.
Dan Patrick
Gus in la. Hi, Gus. We'll squeeze you in. Best and worst of the weekend.
Listener Caller
Good morning, Mr. Patrick. Hope you and the boys had a great weekend. Let's get the worst out of the weekend. Once again, my USC Trojans showing the nation why we're not serious title contenders. And then late last night in the little worse of the weekend, Juju Watkins announced out for the whole season. That pretty much puts an extinguishing hopes on our title chances. Best of the weekend. My Steelers started off with a great day of football. But how important and we just talked about about the field goals but how important or how frustrating our special teams becoming. It's like is it a simple fix? Is it like a dear God. I mean even on the extra points, you know that Cowboys extra point, that two pointer determined the score at the end. How important is it going to be? The embarrassing of the weekend. Adonai Mitchell run with the damn ball all the way through the goal line.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, that was tough to watch. Yeah, the juju Watkins, you know she had surgery in the off season. Going to be extra cautious here. She's going to miss the entire season. That's shame, shame. All right, one hour in the books. Two more to go on this Monday. Fritzy Seaton Marv Polyures Truly. We're back after this.

Host: Dan Patrick and the Danettes (Seaton, Todd Fritz, Marvin, Paulie)
Podcast Network: iHeartPodcasts and Dan Patrick Podcast Network
This episode centers on the wild results of NFL Week 4, focusing heavily on the historic 40–40 tie between the Cowboys and Packers. Dan and the Danettes break down Sunday’s biggest surprises, quarterback controversies, playoff implications, and dish on why NFL ties bum everyone out. The show’s signature blend of stats, sharp banter, and locker room humor is front and center, with special attention given to fan engagement (poll questions, callers), rule-change ideas (to eliminate ties), and hot takes on trending NFL and college football stories.
Major Results Run-down
Historic Tie Clarified:
Dan argues the Bengals shouldn’t “waste another year” waiting for Burrow to heal; considers if they should trade for Kirk Cousins or Russell Wilson, since the division is wide open.
“Maybe if you got a quarterback in there who could be an upgrade, you could steal that division.” – Dan Patrick [05:23]
Ravens No Longer Super Bowl Contenders?
Banter about the letdown feeling of a tie, especially after a shootout game:
Cowboys defense panned:
Green Bay’s defense supposed to be “great” – wasn’t.
Key Play & Official Controversy:
Paulie questions conservative play-calling—why not go for it on fourth down?
“You gotta come out with something. You can’t come out with a loss… That’s too far to go for fourth down.” – Dan Patrick [16:21]
Comparisons made to other teams with quarterback issues (Vikings, Bengals).
Paulie floats a field goal-off concept:
Alternate ideas:
Colorful guest appearance from Cowboys superfan Shea:
Wagers & Stat Disputes:
Justin Herbert—Is He Still that Guy?
College Football Touch-points:
Dan and the Danettes keep the chat buoyant and sometimes irreverent (“I feel European”), blending traditional sports radio analysis with playful inside jokes and live listener calls. The show deftly jumps between granular NFL details, fan engagement, and larger reflections on American sports culture (e.g., hatred of ties, golf etiquette).
