Visit rapidradios.com up to 60% off free shipping Poll question, play of the day Stat of the day. All of that forthcoming. And if you would like to call, you can operator Tyler sitting by 8, 7, 7, 3, DP show college football rankings came out. No real surprises there. It all plays out every year. We're like, oh my gosh, if that happens and that happens and that it just all seems to fit. It feels like it's a Rubik's cube where you go, I don't know what I'm doing. I keep twisting and turning and then all of a sudden it matches up. It's really rare now. And you get 12 teams in. Notre Dame has to beat Pitt and then once they do that, they'll be in the playoffs because they have Stanford and they have Syracuse, Stanford, they're kind of in ish and maybe they could afford another loss here. Ohio State, Indiana with the showdown, perhaps both will be undefeated when they meet. And then where they are positioned, you know, I look back at Oregon like Oregon was number one in the country. But their draw in that 12 team playoff was just not fair. And somebody's going to be matched up with somebody first round where you're going to go, wow, that's, you know, that's the prize. That's what you get for being a, you know, number one seed. And it might happen again this year. But still, as they like to say, there's a lot of football left to be played. But you want to talk about the most must win game of the weekend, I can get a head start. Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, that's a most must win game of the weekend because that means you're either in the playoffs or you're not. Now, I don't want to Take anything away from Stanford or Syracuse while I take everything away from Stanford and Syracuse, but those would be the two remaining teams. And then you start to look at strength of schedule. And this team beat this team, but this team is ranked higher and it all sorts out. It all plays out for the most part here. All right, so we'll come up with a poll question, play of the day, stat of the day, all of that forthcoming. The NBA has finally adopted. They adopted my format. And I have to credit this commissioner because he has to be brilliant because he listens to the show all the time. I asked him about doing some other things, make the all NBA teams positionless, because that's what basketball is now. I got seven foot six guys playing on the perimeter. You don't really have a designated center, forward and guard. He. He did that. I also said, how about as an incentive, you have to play at least 65 games to be eligible for postseason honors. He did that. I also said, how about the rest of the world versus the United States? Now I get. I get pride, I get patriotism, I get competitiveness. I might have an all Star game where there's passion. And the commissioner listened. Finally took a while. Oh, and I heard from the critics, oh, yeah, you're going to have like six guys on the, you know, the rest of the world compared to the depth of the US Team. I go, how about I take my six against your six? I like my chances if I take my starting five against your starting five. But I like what the commissioner did. He created two teams from the United States. So I'm going to dilute their roster a little bit and, and make it a little bit more equitable against, you know, maybe a European roster or the rest of the world that won't be as deep because, like, I don't know if Franz Wagner is going to make the rest of the world team, the world team there, but I do know if I trot out Joe Joker, Wemby, Giannis, sga, Luca, come get some. Now I got. I got something that's interesting and maybe there will be the pride, you know. You know, Joker talked about what, that. What was it? A silver bronze, bronze medal. Marvin bronze medal at the Olympics met more than the NBA championship. To him, there's going to be pride, passion, maybe competition. And it. This is the last chance. But I do like this. I do like the United States against the rest of the world. And you're going to have two teams and a round robin format there. I applaud the commissioner. Yes, Paulie, just To be clear, we don't get sga. We don't get North America. No. Oh, it's not. You don't get the continent because that'd be nice for us to get sga. No, it's more. It's more important that SGA is going to play for the world. Wow. Yeah. What about, like, I mean, if President Trump can get Canada in time and make it the 51st state, but other than that, I think SGA is going to be playing for the world. What if a player was from the U.S. virgin Islands? That's. That would be us. We get that. Yeah, that would be. You'd get Tim Duncan. We would have gotten Tim Duncan. Yes, yes, yes. Dylan, do you want to hear the current MVP odds then? Because this sort of paints a little bit of a picture versus sga. Okay. Then Jokic. Yeah. Then Luca. Yeah. Then Giannis. Yep. Then Wemby. That's a starting five. Is there an American in the top 10 for MVP? Yes. So Austin Reeves, Wempy's plus 600, and then a steep drop off to cade Cunningham at +3500. Wow. Once again, I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I don't know how long I can play my starting five if I'm the world, but I'd like to play them as long as possible. Yes. Marvin, it's not good when the US Is going to depend on Steph lebron and Katie, per usual, like, you don't have any young American stars where it's like, all right, we can match up with these guys. We have Cade Cunningham. No knock to Cade Cunningham and Jalen Brunson. What's going to happen when Lori Marketing and Sagun from the Rockets come in for the World Team? That's probably your bench. And it's eight, so it's not like 12 where it's a big drop off. I have all NBA performers as my top eight guys on this team. Are the rosters 12. No, three teams of eight. Oh, so that's why the world is even. It's even scarier because there's no big drop off. Like Josh Giddey isn't going to be on the team because they need to fill the roster. Okay. I have legit NBA All Stars. I love it. I love it. But it's because I hated it before, you know, where it was just going up and down and, you know, it was like layup lines. Yes, yes. And NBA players, don't be upset because this is your fault. If you decided just to play a Little bit. We would have just had regular east and west per usual. Yeah, Paul. And players like Halliburton, injured, Jason Tatum, injured USA born players that would have been. Would be on that team. Yeah. Wow. Is there a line out yet? Who you got looking? Well, I. I would take the world because I think it means the world to them. See what you did? Yeah. Yeah. That would be my rallying cry. It means the world to us. What? Marvin, that's gonna be on Peacock this time. It means the world to them. Country pride. It means the world to them. The NBA all Stars collide on NBC and Peacock next. Thank you. Yes, Paul. Can we acquire a player? It seems like in soccer, guys jump countries all the time for different reasons. Can we get like sweeten the deal for SGA to become an American? Immigration's tough now. I know. Just saying. Yeah. SGA plays in Oklahoma. That's as American as it gets. Yes, Marvin. Well, we've already done that with Joel Embiid. Joel Embiid was from Cameroon. He's playing for Team usa. I was like, man, he just got here like eight years ago. He's like, he's ours. Well, you get him. He's just not going to be able to play. Kawhi not going to play. Yeah, Yeah. I, I think this will be a fun format. I like that. Now, I don't know if you can extrapolate and go, how about we do the world three point shooting and dunk contest versus the United States? I don't know if you, you make it territorial like that, but this is a start. And that's all I ask the commissioner. Have an open mind with this and I think this is going to be fun. Yes, Marvin. Mack McClung is ours. He's American. That's right. That's right. Yeah. So why can't he stick on? Somebody said this to me and I know that they were kind of joking, but they said, bronnie is not better than Mac McClun. I said, yeah, but Mac McClung's dad is not as good as Ronnie's dad or as important. But Mack McClung usually gets like, he's gotten a couple of 10 day contracts. I think he got cut by Indiana. He only played a couple of games. But I mean, I watched him and I said, you know, he can play and I've watched him in the G League and you know, he dominates, but he just can't, can't stay on a roster there. Yes, Marvin. It's hard to be like a 6:2 shooting guard and you're not a really good shooter. Like, he's a great athlete, but he's one of those guys where it's like, if he was 6 5, it'd be a different story. He just can't stick. I don't know. Yeah, he's probably made more money winning the dunk contest than he has in his professional career. Yeah. Yeah. Paul, I want to go back to about five years ago, you brought up this topic, USA versus the world, to spice up All Star Weekend. I lightly poo pooed it because I thought there was too much downside for the NBA if USA lost to the world. Like, oh, our league is getting dominated by the rest of the world. I think I was wrong there, because would it be better for the NBA for the world to win this game? Yes. Yes. Because it's a world sport. It's a. But the NBA is being dominated by the world right now. If you look at the best players in the game, the best players in the game are not from the United States. This is a truly. This is what David Stern told me 15 years ago, how it's going to be an international sport where the players are going to be. Because it used to be that European players were soft. The label. When Dirk Nowitzki came over, you know, they made fun of him. He's told the story where he's on the floor and they're making. They're. They're calling him soft and a few other names. Then they found out that Dirk wasn't soft. Manu Ginobili wasn't soft. Tony Parker wasn't. So you know that. That you got Sharonas, Marcelo, Nis. They weren't soft. And so that label's gone now. Nobody. You don't hear that. Nobody's calling the Joker soft or Giannis soft. Lucas soft. I mean, maybe pudgy. Which leads me to Nico Harrison. Man, timing's everything. And I started to wonder, okay, Nico Harrison survived the trade because they got Cooper Flack. If they don't get Cooper flag and they end up with Ace Bailey, I. They would have fired him probably before this. But here's what I don't understand. Okay? They made the trade. The trade was terrible. And. And ownership approved this. It's not like Nico Harrison said, don't tell ownership, but I'm trading Luca. Okay? And then you trade him. Mark Cuban's not own. He doesn't run the Mavericks anymore. He's got a percentage, but he has nothing to do with this. So ownership had to approve this, but now you're going to fire the Guy that you gave autonomy to making this deal. Now the owner should say, hey, you know what? I, I hated firing him, but. And I'm partially to blame as well. Okay? At least it takes some ownership, true ownership here. Now, would I have made the trade trading away somebody like that the year before you go to the NBA Finals? And I know Nico has said many times, you know, you win championships by playing defense, okay. Sometimes if I outscore you by a lot, that's kind of defense. Okay. And if you add role players that play defense, I can still let Steph be Steph. I can let Luca be Luca. I, I can let these guys be great scorers because if I get 35 and my guy gets 22, that would be plus 13. That seems like that would be a win for us. But I don't want Anthony Davis and, and see, that's what bothered me more than anything. You're gonna, if you're gonna take the risk of trading Luca, don't take a risk of whom you bring back. I'm trading a 25 year old star who can get you 30 and be out of shape. Now he can always get in shape. Anthony Davis can't get healthy. But if I got Anthony Edwards, if I got. They're not trading shape, but if you got somebody who had great upside and is only 23, 24, 25, okay. And maybe it's a guy who's a two way player or you get a couple of players who are two way players and it buys into your defense, wins championships. Nico didn't get that. And Anthony Davis, I think he had one great game in Dallas and then he got hurt and he's hurt now. But okay, if healthy, we love to use that, that phrase, if healthy. Okay. Kyrie and Anthony Davis are on the wrong side of 30. I love watching Kyrie, but what am I getting out of Kyrie? I don't know what the end game was going to be because when they retire, what do you have to show for Luca? Because he'll still be playing. I just don't understand it. And then you fire him now, like, at least let the roster play out. Let me wait until Anthony Davis and Kyrie get healthy. But this is a fans slow start. Dirk Nowitzki's criticizing, you know, it feels bad for the fans. Then all of a sudden it's like, now we'll fire him, okay? But man, he left a mess. This is bad and it could have been great. You get Cooper flag. Imagine if they had a couple other younger players, guys that you could count on that were going to be able to play. Okay. The west is stack Cooper flag struggling. Feels like Jason Kidd is safe, he's on scholarship. But you look at that team, they're not a good team and even when those guys get back, I don't know how good they can be because there's always going to be the wait, what's wrong with Anthony Davis? Yes, Paulie, I can remember the day after this trade. We were all incredulous and you said the only way this trade works if Luca goes to the Lakers and somehow becomes a lesser player in the near future. He's averaging 379 and 9 this year. But I also said Dallas has to win the championship. Like you can't make that move without because you've gone to the finals with Luca. You can't say, hey, you know, we won two our first two rounds of playoff game. That's not good enough. You made a move that was supposed to make you better and it didn't and it cost you your job. And you will go down in history as somebody who was involved in one of the worst NBA trades of all time. We'll take a break here. We'll get poll question here. We'll hear from seaton on the road 877, three DP show. We're back after this in the Dan Patrick Show. I kind of was up there to just try and infiltrate the building. It's where crunk was born. In a club in the West End. Four world star football. It was five five nine where a tiny bar birthed a generation of rap stars. Where preachers go viral and students at the HB turned heartbreak into resurrection. How do you get people to believe in something that's dead? Well, dreamers brought Hollywood to the south and hustlers bring their visions to create black wealth. Nobody's rushing into relationships with you. Where are you from? They wanna look you in the eye. Where the future is nostalgia. Talking to ChatGPT she Like you really the first lady to have a gangster girls tape in Atlanta, Georgia. Like that's what separates you from a lot of people. And I'm like, you know what? You right. I'm a powerful woman. I think that's intimidating to a man. With a cast of hundreds of actors and comedians playing key figures, we'll take a look at how adult films became legal in the 70s, hugely profitable in the 80s and 90s, and fell off a financial cliff in the 2000s. Bring back the ostracon. And because we've got a very mi casa es su casa kind of vibe on our show, friends always stop by. Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet was through the El Golfo de Mexico. No, the America. No, the America. El Golfo de Mexico continuing forever and ever. It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment. They had land reform, they had labor rights, they had education rights. Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife. Got some NFL news for you, by the way. We have co favorites to win the super bowl as of this morning. DraftKings. Todd, I'll start with you. Two teams, same odds to win the Super Bowl. The Lions and the Chiefs. Hey, Dylan. Chiefs, Eagles. Okay. Marvin. Eagles, Lions. Okay. Paul. Bill's. Rams. Rams, Chiefs, Rams, Chiefs. Followed by the Lions, Eagles, Seahawks. So you have one AFC team and then you got the Rams, Lions, Eagles and Seahawks in there, followed by the Colts and the Bills. This is one of those. I mean, The Chiefs are 5 and 4 and don't they have a big game coming up this weekend? They are currently not a playoff team. Yes, but they have the tied for the best odds. Yes. Todd, what if the Chiefs and I hate to Put this out in the universe. What if the Chiefs blew out the Broncos in Denver? How would opinions change of Kansas City? Or is it just one game? I don't know. How would you feel? I would say, look out, here come the Chiefs again. And what the heck's going on with my team? NFL MVP odds right now. Matthew Stafford leads Drake May. Then it's Mahomes. Jonathan Taylor, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold. Okay, Rejoice, rejoice. There's a reason to watch the Giants this weekend. Jamis Winston is going to start for the Giants. Yes. What year is this? They're going to have W's on sale. You can eat a W there. That might be the only W they host the Green Bay Packers. Yes. Dylan, I was just eating a W. Oh, is that what you were doing? Yeah. Wow. Jamis giveth and taketh away the the first 30 for 30. 30 guy in NFL history. Touchdown passes, interceptions in a season. I don't know if we honor that the way we do 40, 40 in baseball, but Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, man, it is officially over. Yes, Paulie. Yet Jameis Winston had a season at age 25. He led a league in attempts, he led a league in yardage, and he led a league in interceptions. Yeah, good stuff. Packers are favored by seven against Jameis Winston and the Giants. But this is fun. I have no idea. Other than I have an idea. It's going to be entertaining with Jameis Winston. But for Russell Wilson, you get kicked to the curb and I'm surprised that they still have him on the roster. But then you got to get another quarterback in there as well. Tommy Cutlets. Is he still with the Patriots? That sound right? Believe so. Last I saw on Instagram, he was at a Italian restaurant in Boston. Tommy DeVito. Yes. Todd, if you're playing the Giants these days, don't you want to see Russell Wilson over Jameis Winston? I would. No, I want to see Jameis Winston. I mean, when Russ got in, when Jackson dart got hurt, it just looked like he had no idea what he was doing. If I'm the Packers, I'd rather face Russell Wilson. Yeah, Jameis can still make plays. What is the over under? Let's say I put over under at one and a half interceptions for Jameis Winston. Dylan, what would you take? I mean, as a Jameis fan, I would like to take the under, but I might go. I think two picks against the pack, a good packers defense. First. First game action, a little bit over. Under is a 43 and a half. And considering the packers offense as of late, it seems like a hefty line. Yes. Paulie James is the kind of guy who could have three interceptions and beat you though. You know, he'll have three ugly picks and then win it in the fourth quarter. His career, it's a weird career. He's got 154 career touchdown passes and 111 picks. Yeah, but for a number one overall pick. There was a time though, he was a thing. Yeah, I think that was in college. He was a thing, man. He had a lot of those Bucks games though, where he would have like three picks and five touchdowns. I don't think he had a lot of those games, Dylan. He had enough that were memorable then. How many? Five touchdown, three interceptions. Games. If it's so memorable, I'll get back to you. Okay, thank you. Travis Hunter, it's over for this year. Knee surgery, man, there was so much build up to this. He won the Heisman because of this. And then you go into the NFL and we wondered, are you going to play him more DB? Maybe 80% of the time, 20% wide receiver. It became pretty balanced, but there was nothing that stood out. There was no, like pick six to win a game or even a touchdown reception. Where you go, yeah, and you're playing positions where if you watch a football game, I'm not seeing the defensive back in real time. And even the wide receiver, I'm not watching you run your route because I'm watching the quarterback. So therefore you got no airtime. You play for Jacksonville, so you're not getting prime time games. You got a quarterback that we have questions about. And I wonder, now, I don't know if usage led to this, but do you get to the point. I want you to be great at one thing. I don't want you to be good at two things. I want you to be. If you got the potential to be great, then be great. You know, Dion was great as a defensive back and he wanted to play wide receiver just to prove that he could be different than anybody else and he was able to do that. Travis Hunter, I would say if he's going to be a great defensive back, then have him there, sprinkle in a couple of plays on offense. But if I'm getting good and good and I could get great, I'd rather have great. But with Jacksonville, maybe good and good suits them because they need help on both sides of the ball. But that's, you know, out with knee surgery and really a nondescript rookie season where it felt like, boy, you got a Two way. A legitimate two way player. And I wonder how long that will last. Oh, what's poll question today, Dylan? All right then. Well, the first option is what's the worst trade in sports history? Got Herschel Walker. Yeah, Babe Ruth as a sale, but it counts. And Luka Doncic or other. I'll say Babe Ruth because it changed the game. I mean, he changed the sport. He changed two different franchises. I would say that to start with, you know, Herschel Walker. Herschel wasn't a great running back. He was great in college, the USFL. I think he had 5,000 rushing yards. But he, he didn't have. He was just a big fast guy. He had no moves. And you know, Dallas, Jimmy Johnson was able to get a great haul for him. And you get a lot, a lot of those draft picks and it built the foundation for super bowl winning teams. Once again, if you make a trade and as a result you end up winning titles, you know, that's where you can look at. That was a unbelievable trade. Or that's one of the worst trades. You know, the Vikings are on the receiving end of that. They got Herschel. They gave up all of these players back when running backs meant something. But Babe Ruth, where you're basically, it's a financial transaction and you get Babe Ruth and he becomes the best player in the history of the sport. So I would say what the Red Sox did, that's the worst trade in sports history. Yeah. Paulie, I'll throw out this one. It's modern era. The Houston Texans got rid of DeSean Watson, who had injuries and baggage. And the Cleveland Browns gave them three first round picks, a fourth round pick and another fourth round pick. DeSean Watson's done absolutely nothing and been very expensive for the Browns. The Texans turned all those picks into like CJ Stroud and Will Anderson, and they are set for, you know, I know they're not doing great right now, but I'm gonna throw that out there as the worst in modern history. Even worse than Luca. It's akin to it. Yeah, but nobody's winning anything there. No, Texans aren't winning anything. Cleveland's not winning anything. But the direction the Browns changed to go move on at quarterback and to go after a guy with that much baggage on and off the field, that's as risky as it gets. Yeah, but DeSean Watson wasn't as good as Luca. I mean, Luca went to the NBA Finals on a roster that wasn't great. And then you trade him at age 25. That to me, modern era. It, that now, what you paid desean Watson because you had to give him all guaranteed money or he wasn't going to go to Cleveland. If I factor that in and you gave up those draft picks, okay, I could see where that would be a rival to Luca. But the. The worst slash best trait, because it's worse for one. It's best for, you know, the other team is still Babe Ruth. I don't know if there's anybody else that, you know. The Clippers traded sga, right? SGA is going to be a Hall of Famer, and they got Paul George in return. I mean, that's a. If. If you want to look at a bad trade. I mean, Luca is a bad trade. The clippers traded the MVP and he's only, what, 25 years of age and he's going to haunt you for the next 10 years. And he won a championship. That's a bad trade for the Clippers. And people have revisionist history. They'll be like, you know, how do the Clippers do? I remember watching SGA at Kentucky and I'm like, okay. Like he was just another. Okay. He'll, you know, make $50 million a year in the NBA. That's kind of how I looked at Kentucky talent. I mean, Devin Booker didn't even start for Kentucky, so you. It's kind of hard to handicap. Oh, that guy's going to be great. And then SGAs with the Clippers, I never heard somebody say, man, this guy is eating everybody up in practice or this guy is unbelievable. You would have thought he was untouchable, and he wasn't. And then you get Paul George. That's a bad deal. Any other ones that you can think of? Yeah, the New Jersey. The Brooklyn Nets acquiring Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Yeah. Aging superstars and the Celtics turned that into a bunch of good players, including Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. Now, Kim Kardashian's ex husband was involved in that deal. I believe, I believe, I believe Kris Humphries was involved in that. I think so. Kg, Paul Pierce, Jason Terry, DJ who? White. Also a second round pick for Keith Bogans, Marshawn Brooks, Chris Humphries, Chris Joseph, Gerald Wallace. And then you got a first round pick, first round pick, first round pick,. So basically it was four first round picks that I think that they got Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum with those picks. Yes. Marvin Ouch. Didn't the Red Sox trade Mookie Betts? Yeah. Why? That felt like a money move, that one. Man, I loved watching Mookie play With the Red Sox, it's like, even when he was starting out, I didn't know how great he was going to be. I just remember I would come in and say, that dude is so fundamentally sound, he'll. He'll back up third base, you know, from the outfield. He just did everything. Yeah. Paulie, here's one that I don't think it's enough credit for being a bad trade. Back in the early 90s, the Suns got Charles Barkley in his prime for. They traded Jeff Hornacek, Tim Berry, Tim Perry, and Andrew Lang. Yeah, they got almost nothing out of it. I would say the Broncos trading for Russell Wilson is one of the worst trades in NFL history, because you so five draft picks, three players, and 242 and a half million dollars. God, that is unbelievably poor scouting. Unbelievably poor scouting because it didn't take long before people. Now, in fairness to Russ, he wasn't terrible when he got there to Denver. It's just, you know, when Sean Payton got to Denver, then he. He was expendable. But you gave up all of that, players, draft picks, and you pay Russ $242 million. Yeah. Dylan, this is kind of an interesting one, but rookie Pedro Martinez traded from the Dodgers to the Expos for straight up for Delino De Shields. Delino. Delino. But Delino De Shields was a pretty good player. That. That's not terrible. But Pedro's career after that. Yeah, but, you know, Pedro became a Hall of Famer, so that's, you know, in. In the moment, you got to be fair in the moment where you go, okay, now, given Deshaun Watson guaranteed contract and the situation that was in, play terrible. Herschel, it's a bad deal. Bad deal because you won championships because of that trade. Yes, Marvin. The funny thing about the desean Watson thing is it's not even Monday morning quarterback speak. We thought it was a bad idea. As soon as they did it. Yes. It's not even like, oh, looking back in hindsight. No, no, no. As soon as they did it. What are they doing? Mookie Betts and David Price go to the Dodgers for Alex Verdugo, Jeter Downs, and Connor Wong. Wow. Once again, you win championships as a result. If you can get Jeter, though. Oh, Jeter Downs. Jeter Downs. Yeah. That's where you go. Hey, who did you get? Well, got Jeter. Okay. All right. Anybody else? Yeah, Connor Wong. Okay. Oh, it's not Derek Cheater. All right, we'll take a break here. We're going to settle on our poll question. We got phone call. Oh, and seat note Connor is joining us from the road. Back after this with our play of the day. It's not just a city. I didn't really have an interest in being on air. I kind of was up there to just try and infiltrate. The building is where Crunk was born. In a club in the West End 4 World Star it was 559 where a tiny bar birthed a generation of rap stars. Where preachers go viral and students at the HBCU turned heartbreak into resurrection. How do you get people to believe in something that's dead? Well, dreamers brought Hollywood to the south and hustlers bring their visions to create black wealth. Nobody's rushing into relationships with you. Where are you from? They want to look you in the eye. Where the future is nostalgia. Let's talk to my chatgpt. She like you. Really? The first lady to have a Gangster girls tape in Atlanta, Georgia. Like, that's what separates you from a lot of people. And I was like, you know what? You right. Atlanta doesn't wait for permission. It builds its own spotlight. I'm big rude. Let us guide you through the stories behind Atlanta's most iconic moments. And on our podcast Hungry for History, we mix two of our favorite things, food and history. Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells and they called these ostrakan to vote politicians into exile. So our word ostracize is related to the word oyster. No way. Bring back the ostracon. And because we've got a very mi casa es su casa kind of vibe on our show, friends always stop by. Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet was through the El golf of Mexico, continuing forever and ever. It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment. They had land reform, they had labor rights, they had education rights. Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome, fellow seekers of the Dark. Where are you today, Seaton O'? Connor? I'm just outside of St. Louis in a place called Kirkwood. Really nice neighborhood, actually. Dude, let me tell you, okay? St. Louis gets it, all right. St. Louis absolutely gets it. One, they made a little sign for me. Always appreciated. Always appreciated. I got a bunch of people that turned out so far. Yeah. Excuse me. This fella right here. All right, he just had a surgery, not a procedure. That was a major surgery on his arm. He still made it out. I don't know what everybody else's problem is. Let's see. I got a good crew here with me. I'll give you a little tour of our setup. So far, we're basically tailgating. We got some merch set up. We got Dan Patrick show shirt set up. It's a Mako hats. Okay. Love that. All right, somebody just brought a dude in off the seat and pass shirt rules. Just brought kolachi for me. So I'm going to be picking on this all day. And then inside, there's something called gooey butter cake that is definitely coming with me as well. So St. Louis did it, right? So far. So far, of all the cities we've been to, they're the winner, no doubt. Okay, and then where are you tomorrow? Today I'll be driving. I'm gonna go through Kansas City. Might say hello to Bob, our production guy, who's a little bit of a lunatic. I'm gonna try and see him, and then I'm on my way to Denver for Friday Morning will be at a Mako just outside the Denver area. All right, well, give our best to all your fans there, and. And we'll talk to you tomorrow. Oh, and you know what else? This Mako here is doing some minor repairs that I picked up in Morgantown, so that was the other thing that I forgot to mention. So they're fixing the quote, unquote scratch that you have. Yeah, I think I've heard the word tape being used. Maybe at worst comes to worst, we're going to tape this back on. So I think we're in good shape. Thank you, Seed. You know what? I didn't follow up with him yesterday and ask him, could you give me the real details? I didn't want to know. I just figured I'm gonna see him in Vegas and maybe it'll be fixed by then, but it's a great sponsor to have if you're on the road with the Mako van and you happen to knock something off or scratch something that you just go into a maker. Yes, Dylan. So it sounded like a scratch initially. Now it sounds like things have fallen off. Yes. Yeah, I. I'm glad you picked up on that as well. All right, a couple of phone calls in here. Jason Garrett, former coach, will join us. Coach. Coming up next hour, Zach. And Knoxville leads us off. Good morning, Zach. What's on your mind? Adp, thanks for taking my call. One, I want to give a shout out to my only Danny in Knoxville for keeping me up to date on what's going on when I'm not able to watch or listen. And two, I just wanted to check on Todd, make sure he's all right. Seems like Dylan's getting a little more airtime back there, and I just want to check on my guy, make sure he's doing okay, how he's handling it. Okay, I'm doing good. I have a little. I'm a little under the weather with the cold, if I'm talking a little less. But I love having Dylan next to me. I miss Seaton, too, but Dylan's fun and engaging, and that's. That's good that he's okay. Who do you prefer? Oh, boy. Who do I prefer, Dylan or Seaton? I. The only reason I would give the edge to Dylan is Dylan seems to be always in a good mood, and there are times with scenes. Sometimes he's a little grouchy, and he may have every reason to be, but sometimes he looks like he's looking for to, like, kind of fight somebody every once in a while. I'm Surprised you answered, but I'm glad you answered. Is that a fair assessment? I don't know. Now you guys can share something. Ritzy. You're like an NFL coach. You got to say, you know, they both have their qualities. We're looking forward to the next game against St. Louis. Michael in Nashville. Hi, Mike. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. Hey, Dan. How's it going? So I have a bet proposal for Marvin. Marvin, if you are willing to take me up on this, I think that Ole Miss will make the playoff. And if we do, I get to be in your chair for hour three on a meat Friday. At some point, Mike, and as an honorary kind of guest. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Michael, you should be in the playoffs. If you don't make the playoffs, then something bad should happen to you. Like, well, bad like a pie. But no Ole Miss makes the playoffs and you get to sit here, you know, get out of here. Marvin, I think Ole Miss is going to make the the playoffs. Yes. I never said they did. They should, right? Michael, why do you think that Marvin has a problem with Ole Miss? No, no, I don't. I'm just making a bet proposal. I want, like, I can spice it up a little bit and say that we have to win a game in the playoff too. No, you got to win the national championship and keep your coach. Oh, we can do that. Lane's not going anywhere. Yeah. Well, thank you, Michael. No takers in here. Hey, if they make the playoffs, I get to sit in Marvin's chair. No, no, no. It's like if Oklahoma City makes the playoffs in the NBA, you can send my chair. Okay. Yes, Dylan. All right then. If Ohio State makes the playoffs, you give me a million dollars. Yeah, I'm gonna do it. Thank you. Some of the worst trades of all time from Twitter. Frank Robinson. From Milt Pappas. The Oilers trading Wayne Gretzky. Dirk Nowitzki traded on draft night for Robert Tractor Trailer. Bucks traded Kareem to the Lakers. Although I think the Bucks got some good players in return. Was a Marcus Johnson, Jr. Bridgman, maybe Dave Myers involved in that deal? The Nets trading Dr. J to the 76ers. Yeah, Wilt being traded to the Lakers. I don't think the 76ers got anything really of note in return. There's been a lot, a lot of bad trades, but one sided trades, that's where you win a championship or two because of a move that you made. And that's why I go back to Dallas. They make the Herschel trade. And then Jimmy gets his draft picks and uses them wisely and they win a couple of Super Bowls. What? It still goes back to the Red Sox selling Babe Ruth. I mean, it's not a trade, I don't think, per se, as much as we need money to finance. What was it, the Broadway show? No, no. Net. Net. That's right. Yeah. Yes, Paulie, I would say, and this is pretty obvious, but the trade of Gretzky to LA Kings, that was bad for the entire country of Canada. Not just, but it was great for the United States because all of the franchises that he birthed by being in the United States, everybody wanted to have Gretzky come to their town. All right, one hour in the books. Two more to go. Former coach Jason Garrett joins us in 10 minutes. We're back after this. Fritzy, Dylan, Marv, Paulie, yours truly. Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way yo, yo, yo, yo. Can we get a Thanksgiving first? I'm hungry. What's up, y'? All? It's Kadeen and Deval, the host of the Ellis Ever after podcast.
