The packers are the team to beat in the NFC right now. I don't think you can argue that. They've beaten two really good teams. And yes, one was on the road, one was at home. But I think in the fashion that they beat the Lions and the commanders, they roughed them up. They roughed them up and they looked impressive. And, well, two home games, I should say. So, yes, you knock those two off. You check the boxes there with two teams, playoff teams, who have gone to NFC title games. And now all of a sudden you've got everybody's attention. This is a team that always scored. Last year, they scored, they'd get you 20 points. They'd average 20 points a game, maybe more than that. Now you got defense. And if you're able to put pressure, you're able to stop dynamic players. Now all of a sudden you've, you've changed the perception of your team because it feels like they're a defensive first team. And if you're going to hit the quarterback 12 times, now all of a sudden he's back there and now he's thinking. Instead of, you're thinking about the wide receiver, you're thinking about the play, now you're thinking about where, where is that guy? Because Michael Parsons, you can look at the stats and the stats, to me, they really don't incorporate how great he is. Because let's say somebody gets a sack and it's not Micah Parsons, pretty much guarantee that Micah Parsons had something to do with that person getting a sack or holding calls. That's like a sack if you're going to be holding. And he's the one that is being held. Once again, that value. There's only a couple players like that, the NFL. That's why I know Jerry's gonna go to his grave saying he made a great deal trading away Micah Parsons. They, you know, I think Green Bay paid too much for him, given the market, but given up the run stopper then two first round picks, you saw the difference. There's only five or six players who are like that defensively. And he might be at the top of the list of. He's gonna, he's gonna put pressure, he's gonna make sure you know where he is and he's gonna make everybody better on passing downs. The, the one thing I would caution is I want to ease him into the season. And I know that when you have a shiny new toy, you're like, God, I gotta get him out there. I want him to play. He wants to get out there. He's, you know, lobbying Matt LaFleur to get him out there to play a little bit more. A long season, long season. Players are going to get hurt, teams are going to be up, they're going to be down. It happens every single year. It's really, really rare when a team doesn't go through a rough patch, and Green Bay will have that this year. But what we've seen so far with the Lions and the commanders, and I don't think those scores are indicative of just how much better Green Bay was than those teams. But the packers aren't suddenly super bowl contenders because they traded for Micah Parsons. In my opinion, I just think they're. They've always been contenders top to bottom, and now you put the finishing touch and getting a player like that, and now I think they're the team to beat in the nfc. Now let's see what happens with the Eagles against Kansas City. If the Eagles, who are favored slight favorites, go into Kansas City and, and they put up impressive numbers. I just think it's so hard. And you know, players talk about when you're, you're winning championships, you get full and it's hard to eat when you're full. And maybe the Eagles are going to, you know, go through that where they might not be as hungry as they've been before. It happens. That's why we don't have back to back champions. Been a long, long, long time. But going to Kansas City, that will have my attention. There's a couple of games that have my attention in the NFL. The Patriots against the Dolphins. I, it's a division game, but I think all eyes are on Mike McDaniel, the dolphins head coach. Like that's a must winish game in my opinion. The Broncos against the Colts. It's just one of those games where you go, I normally wouldn't really care about it, but now I kind of do. You know, Buffalo after a big win and then they're on the road against the Jets. I'm not saying, but I'm saying those are the games that always get my attention. Where you go, I don't know. It's a weird feeling. The Chargers, the Chargers against the Raiders. I don't know. Big game on the road, come back and now you're going to face them and I don't know, just a couple of those. I got a few of those in college football as well that I'll run down. 8773 DP show email address dp@danpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP Show Good morning. If you're watching on Peacock, thank you for downloading the app. And we say good morning to our radio affiliates as well. All right, poll question Seaton for the first hour of the program is going to be what? Very exciting day. Very exciting day. We've got our first dude poll question. Oh yeah, I'll just sent this one over, dude. Green Bay Packers. Dude. Dude. That's a start to the season. Yeah, it is. That's announcing your presence. Yeah, Paulie. And if you're a Packer fan, you, you're on national tv. Wipe the floor with the commanders. Then you got the rest of the weekend to watch football. You can just put your feet up, relax, no tension. You got the Wisconsin Bama game and the next three weeks the packers have Browns, Cowboys, Bengals, then Cardinals. Those are three of four very winnable games. Yeah. By the way, the Bills are favored by six and a half at the Jets. The Patriots are getting two and a Half at the Dolphins. Eagles are one and a half point favored at the Chiefs. Mahomes, I think has been a home underdog. This is the second time in his career. And the Chargers are getting three and a half at the Raiders. What else do you have Seaton today, dude? Aaron Judge, he's having a season. He is not as good as last season. Well, he ties Joe DiMaggio in the all time home run list and he's got 46 home runs this season. I never considered Joe DiMaggio a home run hitter, but I. Okay, we can celebrate milestones and it's a big name there that he's going to pass in. Joe DiMaggio, I think if you check, I mean Joe DiMaggio is underrated. Great center fielder and like, you know, he would bat.350, 360, but he. I don't think he ever hit 40 home runs in a season. But here's judge who, oh, by the way, he's got 46 home runs. I think DiMaggio had more home runs than strikeouts in his entire career. I think it. He struck out like 350 times or something in his career. Yeah, Paulie, it's really close. Joe DiMaggio, 369 career strikeouts, 361 career home runs. He had 46 homers his second year in the league and 39 later in his life. But he. His career average, Joe DiMaggio was.325. He also missed three seasons, age 28, 29 and 30 because of military service. Well, that's why when I go back and I look at Ted Williams stats and he missed three prime years. 28, 29, 30, I think. I mean he was a pilot, fighter pilot in the war and then comes home and is still the greatest hitter. I mean, he didn't do a meet and greet. He wasn't like Elvis, you know, or we're gonna do a fundraiser. Bob Hope wasn't, you know, overseas. But you know, you look at Ted Williams, what do you have, 521. Yeah, Ted Williams hit 521 home runs. He missed three seasons at age 25, 26 and 27. If you prorate his home runs casually another hundred, he'd be at.620 and a career batting average of.344. Yeah, he might be the greatest hitter of all time. Yeah, I know Babe Ruth put up incredible numbers as well. But. But Teddy Ballgame missing three years and he's a fighter pilot. It's not like Elvis. Can you come out and perform? Can you shake Some hands here. Well, yeah, I will. I wasn't a very good Elvis in person. I said I will. Yes, Marvin, I was agreeing with you. It wasn't a great. You're right, it wasn't. Yes, Paul, can you imagine? You're the enemy. You're flying your plane. You look over like, is that Ted Williams about to shoot me down? The slender splinter. No one else could do it. And he wore his batting helmet. That was the weird thing. Eye black. Yeah, eye black. That's not true. No, it's, it's, it's not, it's not. By the way, wearing the eye black. Tucker Kraft, South. South Dakota State or South Dakota. He had a big night last night. Here is Jordan Love on his big tight end. I'm expecting big things from Tuck this year, but it's just, you know, it's one of those things that, that's what Tuck is. Every day, you know, he comes in and puts that work in and you know, in practice every day he's making those big time play. He's very consistent right now. So I don't think it's a secret for him to go out there and ball like he does. First time having 100 yards, which is pretty cool for him. But yeah, I mean he just goes out there and takes the work from practice into the games and is consistent with what he does. So, you know, some we just got to keep building on with him. But you know, Texas, a guy that's going to have a big year. South Dakota State jackrabbits there. Tucker, Kraft, people scrambling for their fantasy teams. I got him. I claimed him. I got him. Jaden Daniels ran seven times for 17 yards. He threw 42 times for 200 yards. Fourth time he's been held under 25 yards rushing in his career. Yeah, I mean it even kind of non threatening. Although I do love what I see from him. He, he just, he stands tall in the pocket. I didn't think he was going to have a great game here just on the road with this defense and it just felt like Green Bay, Green Bay should have won by, you know, four touchdowns. I thought that they were that, that much better there. John Coon, who played fullback for the packers, he's now a broadcaster in Green Bay. He will join us. Coming up, Herm Edwards, who coached Jaden Daniels at Arizona State. You play to win the game. He'll join us a little bit later on as well. Eagles, Chiefs, Patriots, Dolphins, Seahawks, Steelers, Broncos, Colts, Falcons, Vikes, just to name a few. College football, Wisconsin and Alabama. Yikes. Now Wisconsin is a big underdog here, but like, this is a must. It's a must win situation for Kaylin DeVore. Right. Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins against the Patriots. Phil's must winish as well. What is Wisconsin. Are they three touchdown underdogs? I got. Yeah, they're 20. Wow. 21 point underdogs. Georgia. Tennessee is great. Man, I'd love to have gone to that game. Arkansas, Ole Miss, A and M. Notre Dame. It's not must winish because you're Notre Dame, but a M getting six and a half. Wouldn't you like it if you actually got six and a half like you walk in and it's a M 6.5, Notre Dame 0. We might get to that one day with our gambling. Florida against LSU. Must winish for Billy Napier, even though there's seven point underdogs at LSU. And Vandy, S.C. spicy Diego Pavia Vandy getting three at South Carolina. So just some of the. And South Florida. South Florida, My Bulls, they're I think 17 and a half point underdogs. Game of the weekend. So you're saying we have a chance? Yes. Marvin, make sure you tell everybody it's on the cw. Yeah, it's right after One Tree Hill. Cw? I never saw One Tree Hill. It's like a Dawson's Creekish type teen drama. But Katie Holmes was in Dawson Creek. Yeah, correct. Okay. Chad Michael Murray was in One Tree Hill. Okay. I met him one time at a celebrity football game, I think at the Beach Bowl. Oh, yes. In New York. He's too good looking. Yeah, I was. And I'm rushing out because I have to go to Newark and get on a plane to go to Russia for the Olympics. And I'm got, you know, I'm taking off my microphone and I'm just rushing out because I got to get there. There's a charter. They're going to wait for me. And I, I'm walking off and I see him. He goes, hey, I just wanted to say hello. Now I knew who he was. And then I go, oh, man, I, I gotta run to the air. I mean, I felt bad, like I was big timing him. And then I tell my daughters and they're like, did you get a picture? I go, well, no, an autograph? And I go, no, I had to rush to the airport. Well, will you see him again? And I go, I don't think so. So they like held this grudge that I didn't, you know, stop and talk to him. These girls, never satisfied. All right, we'll get to phone calls coming up. 877 3DP show operator Tyler sitting by. Morale is high on this Friday. I feel better than I did yesterday. I had had the flu. I had reaction from all the vaccines, three and out with my shingles vaccine, Covid and flu. And don't do that, by the way. I mean, results may vary, but man, oh man, I was in bad shape yesterday. But Marvin accurately pointed out the similar performance to Michael Jordan with the flu. Gay. Thank you. I was like your Scottie Pippen holding you up. You. You were my Scotty Pippen. I was more like Judd Bushler, but in my head I was thinking about Scotty. You were Steve Kerr. All right, we'll take a break. We'll check in with the packers coming up next year. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem A year from now when you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates. I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan starting with your local credit union. Shopping around online for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt and it weighs on you. A couple things to consider when you're looking at the packers start they have started 2 and 0 with wins against teams that won at least 12 games last year. Only five teams have ever done that and keep in mind they didn't win a single game against a team that won at least 11 games this past Stat of the Day brought to you by Panini America. But you sacked the quarterback four times. You have 12 quarterback hits and you're going to have a quarterback who's maybe a little more nervous there in the pocket. Post game, Packer fans had a message for Jerry Jones. Thank you, Jerry. Thank you, Jerry. Thank you, Jerry. Thank you. Oh, thank you, Jerry. I know Jerry's Jay. Jerry may still win this. Of course, you know, everybody has their opinion on Jerry and did he win the trade getting that run stopper. Although they did get a really good player. I mean, they did, but the first round picks, I don't think we're going to be. I don't know, maybe they're going to be looking for another Micah Parsons. I mean, look at the way the packers are playing. John Coon won a couple of Super Bowls and he works with the packers sideline reporter. Won a Super bowl with the Steelers and the Packers. Good to see you again, John. How you doing? I'm doing great, Dan. Thanks for having me. And first, let me just say I'm glad you're feeling much better today and bounce back day for you here on a Friday. Well, you played when you were sick before, right? Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. That's what gamers do. That's. That's what great ones do. Did you get a shot? No, I never really got a shot while I was playing in the NFL. But they had these little pills that they would give you. Oh, that worked just as good. They didn't. They didn't give me those pills yesterday, John. I should have asked for those little magic pills. Let me give you the official introduction. Check out the Tundra Weekly podcast featuring John and discussing all things Green Bay Packers. Okay, are you tempering your overreaction? Like, how do you stay grounded? That it's early and it's two wins, but yes, two impressive wins. Yeah, I'm not grounded at all, Dan. I watched this team and listen, I played for a long time in the NFL. Played for a long time in Green Bay. And I've covered this team now from the sidelines and in the booth since 2019. And I have to tell you, I have not seen a defense rally and attack this football the way that this packers defense is doing it this year. And Jordan Love and the offense, they are still just figuring things out. And I'm scared to say when this team plays a complete game, what they can actually do. I love Josh Jacobs. I just. It's nice to have that. I know there's glamorous running backs, but it just feels like he is. He's so Green Bay, especially when you get down on the goal line. How do you state equate his value to this team? Well, it's. It's really everything last year and now it's taken the next step this year. Josh Jacobs resume comes without saying when he came in last year and he just built on that throughout the course of the season. The packers really leaned on him with the injuries that Jordan Love had a year ago. And now he has become a guy where even if he's not breaking off the chunk plays, Matt LaFleur sticks with him because he knows at some point in time in the second half, at some point in time in the fourth quarter, they're going to punch one in there. He's got a, he's got 11 straight games that he scored a rushing touchdown. That's, that's a Green Bay Packer record. And when you set a record for a franchise that's been around for over 100 years, you're doing something pretty special. The impact that Micah Parsons has, granted he's in there on third down passing downs, but can you overstate his impact? Well, I, I think the easiest way to talk about his impact is. Yeah, yeah, you know about the, the eight sacks and I think it's 19 quarterback hits that this defensive front has. But you see Rashawn Gary now has two and a half sacks in his first two games. Lucas Van Ness has a sack. Devontae Wyatt has two sacks. Michael Parsons himself has a sack and a half. And it's just, it's getting to the quarterback in population. It's not just him wreaking havoc on a, on an offensive line. It's the attention he brings, allows others to bring that same impact, that same ferocious mentality when they, when they line up there on second and third down. And it's getting to the point now where even Quay Walker and Edron Cooper and everybody's jumping in on the party here at the quarterback. Jeff Halfley's got a, he's got a, a smorgasbord of plays that he can call her, knowing that when Michael Parsons out on that field, anybody can pop from any spot. Jordan Love in the passing game. Like we can nitpick here, but are there any concerns that you've seen so far through two weeks? Very minor. Last week against Detroit, he threw two balls. One that got intercepted, intercepted got called back, another one that probably should have been intercepted. He had a 50, 50 jump ball last night. Some coaches like that, some coaches don't. But in the grand scheme of things, he's completed passes to 11 different receivers already. In this football, the receiver with the most receptions is his tight end, Tucker Kraft. With I believe it's only eight or Nine receptions right now. He's spreading the ball around and he's doing it at a high clip. The big yardages aren't there yet, the touchdowns aren't there yet, but he started both games so hot against two really big time teams here. I know they were home games. We're going to get a lot more information when we go on the road here in the coming weeks on what this offense really is and can this defense travel. I believe that both of them will. I believe that both of them can. And, and I believe Jordan Love, he doesn't have to carry this football team, but there are moments that he will still continue to carry this football team. Do you think they're the best team in the NFL? Yeah, I do. I think they're, I think they're on that short list with Buffalo, with Baltimore, with Philadelphia. I mean, I would put those four above anybody else right now. And coming into the season there was a lot of high hopes, there was a lot of energy about this Packer team. But that trade of Michael Parsons, it seemed to have lifted everybody's play. You're not seeing the drops, the penalties are less than what they were a year ago. You're not seeing the mental errors that you used to see on the defensive side. So it seems like it feels like everybody was prepared to take the next step into the season and Michael Parsons just put a jetpack on their back and launched him. Look at you. Look how excited you work last night, late last night up, all that energy. You're like a fan. I am a fan, Dan. I am. I'm a fan of football. I'm a fan of fun, good football, physical football. And that's what we have now in Green Bay. And yes I did. I Woke up at 6:55 this morning and I had a text from my agent that said, you got to get on the damn Patrick show. Feeling better. And he wants to talk to Packers. What's it like to be a Green Bay Packer? Living in Green Bay, it's a special feeling. And this goes back to Josh Jacobs, this goes Back to Xavier McKinney, Micah Parsons, I've even seen it in his short period of time here. The appreciation and the admiration of the fans is, is second to none. And listen, this fan base, we know about, all the sellouts, we know about that, that season ticket list, but really the way they treat you on the street, the respect that they give you, the love that they give you, the passion that they have cheering for you in the stands, I've seen Michael Parsons take The field twice now in Lambeau Field, and both times I've watched him do a panoramic 360 of the stadium as he walks out there. And here's the chair. You can't help but really love the appreciation that you are feeling when you walk out there. And it makes you want to play harder, and it makes you want to give back to the community as well. How vulnerable are the Lions? Are the Lions. Well, that's tough. That's one game. It's really tough. I believe in Dan Campbell. I'm a Dan Campbell fan. I think he'll get turned around. They're definitely going to have to get back in their bag and try and get their mesh with Johnny Moe, the offensive coordinator, taken over for Ben Johnson. A lot of checkdowns, But a lot of those checkdowns last week could have been simply that the Green Bay packers were flashing in front of Jared Goff's face. Face. I think they'll get this thing figured out, especially when they get at home in the Dome. Give me your favorite Aaron Rodgers story. There's. There's a million. I could give you a million Aaron Rodgers stories. Here's the best one. We're playing at Augusta, and, yes, I played Augusta national with Aaron Rodgers. I had to use him. He was my entry. You know, people wear those lanyards to get into the Masters. Well, my lanyard was Aaron Rodgers, so I wore the Aaron Rodgers lanyard. I got into Augusta, and he's a much better golfer than I am. Dan. A much better golfer. And we're playing. We put a little bit of scratch on the line and we hit about the turn, and I'm up gross on him by about four or five strokes, and he is. He's not very happy. He's. He's sending tee shots into the trees, left into the trees. He's coming out of this thing and he's keeping in there, but I'm beating him for the first time. He gets so competitive that he doesn't talk to us for about the first six or seven holes or on the back nine. And we had a good little group of friends that were golfing there at the time. He battled his way back, and he talked me into a double bogey on 18 so he could beat me by one stroke. He ever yell at you in the huddle? Yes. Yelled at me in the huddle. Yelled at me on the football field. But, Dan, I got to say, I grew up with Aaron. I was here when Aaron was still backing up Brett Favre. So because of That I could yell back a little bit at him. And I think he appreciated that. I think he respected that, and I think that was one of the things that he was looking for when he yelled at other players throughout his career. Great to talk to you. Glad you're doing well. Thank you, John. Thank you, Dan. I appreciate it. John Kuhn, the sideline reporter for the packers radio network, played 12 seasons in the NFL. The podcast is a weekly podcast called the Tundra featuring John, all things Green Bay Packers. Matt Schneiderman, I think, is also on that podcast as well. Quarterbacks in Green Bay are like coaches in Pittsburgh. They don't go through too many of them. If you look at far from 1992 to 2007, and then Rogers 2008 to 2022, they had 22 Pro Bowls combined. And then you have Jordan Love, who looks, well, he better be a franchise quarterback. They certainly paid him, you know. And then you look at Chuck Noel, Bill Cower, Mike Tomlin. Well, they're. The packers are hoping that Jordan Love equates to Mike Tomlin and his tenure there. Yeah, Paulie. But the packers, probably to the more criticized draft picks in the past 20 years was the Aaron Rodgers draft pick when Brett Favre was still great, and the Jordan Love draft pick when Aaron Rodgers was still great. Those got lit up by a lot of people, and they both worked out. Jack in Tulsa leads us off. Good morning, Jack. What's on your mind today? Good morning to you and the Danitz. I just have a couple of quick questions. Number one. Thank you. Jerry. At the end with Micah nodding along, I was wondering what you guys think of Jerry's thinking about that. My second question was you talked about Silverado and Scott Glenn a while ago, and I was wondering. I. I compare him to Ed Harris. I love that Silverado soundtrack. Ed Harris has been in many, many movies with four Academy Award nominations. I was just wondering what your favorite Ed Harris movie is. Mine is Enemy at the Gate. All right. You know, maybe another day I'll get into my favorite Ed Harris movies, but not today. Oh, we could do an hour. Yeah, Milk money. I do like. I do like Ed Harris. It sounds like an hour to a poll question to me. I do like that. I do like Ed Harris. He's just one of those actors. He shows up and I would say the Truman show, but I thought errors. Ed Harris and my wife always thought he was handsome. So maybe I have a problem with Ed Harris a little bit here. Yeah, Paul, Ed Harris, he was the mission commander in Apollo 13. Yeah, great. Role. He was also one of the salesmen in Glengarry. Glen Ross. Yeah. Great flick. Yes. And yes. Marvin Milk Money. Also with Melanie Griffith. You ever seen Malcolm McDowell? Anne Haysh? I don't think. I don't think I saw Deep Cut. Marv. Yeah, that's the first movie I thought of. Sorry. Well, thank you, though. Zach in Knoxville. Hi, Zach. What's on your mind today? Adp. Thanks for taking my call. I want to preface this with I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. You say sports journalists should be nonpartisan, and I don't mind when SVP gives College Park a shout every now and then. But you let little Nicky Wright come on here with his pom poms talking about the cheats all the time, and I just want to ask why I don't think he's a journalist, Zach. Okay. Yeah. Well, maybe you should then. No, Nick is an entertainer. I got. I mean, I don't know who wants to be called a journalist anymore, to be honest with you. I. I came in this way. I'll go out this way. That's just my approach. Nick is a Kansas. He says that he's a Kansas City fan. It's, you know, goes along with the territory there. He's an entertainer. Pat McAfee, he's an entertainer. Stephen A. Smith used to be a journalist. He's an entertainer now. This is what they get paid to do. Journalists don't get paid. Entertainers get paid. Hey, but I don't have any problem with Nick coming on here. And it's part of the entertainment that he's so over the top of the Kansas City Chiefs. Not the end of the world. Adam in Michigan. Hi, Adam. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan, how's it going? Oh, great, Adam. Good, good. Hope you guys all get the meat sweats later on. Wishing that for you. Just wanted to go back a couple of weeks. I love it when you guys dive into jerseys and uniforms. I can listen to that all day. I was thinking in the NFL, a lot of the jersey changes in the 2000s when, like teal and the trapezoid kind of ruin all those jerseys. Really sparked some franchises success. The Patriots, they went from one of the coolest jerseys with the guy snapping the ball. Terrible franchise into those ugly jerseys. They were now started a dynasty. My Broncos Mount Rushmore Orange Crush jerseys lost four Super Bowls, and they changed to the ones now which are not good. And they won their first two Super Bowls. Let's see, Seattle, the Eagles, they ruin their greens and they find Success. It's just kind of odd. And I was wondering if you guys have thought about that at all. Tampa Bay is another one. We thought about it way too much, Adam, but thank you. In fact, first thing. First thing, I come in today, and Paulie goes, packer uniform. I go, what? You gotta have piping down the side. The pants. You do. And then the helmet should have a yellow. You know, the Green Bay yellow. They were so close to being great. Yeah. So that's the first thing he wants to talk about that. And then I said, what about the commanders? That commanders is too small, that the name commander is too small, and you got to have piping down the side. So this is. This is what I walked into today. Yes, we do talk about uniforms. Wake Forest uniforms. Terrible last night. No, they were Saints opening week. Bad uniforms. It's a topic of conversation. Paulie, probably. Yeah, yeah, He. That. That's probably right there at the top of his. On Mondays, after a long weekend where you get to see all these games. And now he will compliment a fan base or, you know, a team. He'll be like, hey, they did it, right? They, you know, stylish. We'll come in and be like, man, North Carolina's uniforms are awesome. Chargers awesome. You know, Saints can have some great, great color. Georgia Tech, you know, once again, Colorado. This is what happens on the show. Yes, Paul, It's. It's. It's the aesthetic that people talk about during games. It's really fun when it plays out on social media. People are like, what are they doing? Why would they do that? I know, I know. I hate when the college team gives kids their names on the back of the jerseys, but you can't see them. Like, it's really small. Oh, you're a fontist. Yes, I. Very much so. I like a large font. Yep. You always have, like, I want to see it, you know, Are you proud of the kids that you have? Like, all right, let me put it on here. Just a little one. Yes, Todd. The name on the front, Dan. Oh, okay. Let's get that straight. There's a lot of uniforms that don't have a name on the front, though. Yes, Paul, if you ever go to an army home football game, which you have, sometimes they put on the back of the jersey either army or West Point or something like that. I went with my friend who doesn't know anything about sports, he goes, hey, look, that guy's name is Army. I go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I go, look at the other 70 dudes. He was meant to come here. Yeah. Destiny. Yes, Todd. And sometimes they go to a different direction than military academies. They'll be able to courage, bravery. And it's not even a name. It's just adjectives to describe how they go about their lives. Let's take a break. More phone calls coming up. Up next, our play of the day. Hey sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro tell you how to manage your money again? Welcome to Brown Ambition. This is the hard part. When you pay down those credit cards, if you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem. A year from now when you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan starting with your local credit union. Shopping around online looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt and it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact it may get even worse. This team has the oldest roster in the NFL and the oldest roster in the league since 1997. San Francisco 49ers. You wouldn't think it would be the Washington Commanders because they have a young quarterback, but this is a team that also has Von Miller, Bobby Wagner, Devo, Samuel, Terry McLaurin. Their average age is just under 29 years of age. It's not something you think of with the Commanders. Now I did have somebody say last night, von Miller is still playing. I said, yes, Von Miller is still playing for the Commanders this year. All right, couple more phone calls in here. Bo in California. Hi Bo. What's on your mind today? What up, dp? Thanks for taking my call. First time, long time. Five seven A swole One hundred and eighty three and Today's my. My birthday. Big four, eight. And I'm not calling to have grown men sing happy Birthday to me, but I know you love love. And my wife of 23 years has taken me to Darius Rucker tonight, so I'm calling to see if you're still handing out meet and greets. No, I am not. I'm not handing them out. But. But Bo, I appreciate you asking and I would sing a happy birthday song, but you don't want grown men singing you happy birthday. But have a great time tonight. Yes, yes, Paul, I do appreciate the no shame. Direct. Direct ask. Yeah. Yeah. I did that for the basketball coach at Wisconsin, Stevens Point, but I have a relationship with him and they sent me a jersey and I'm part of the team. Yes, Todd. Or that the process is that easy. There's nothing to do but to hand it out. Like you're handing out a ticket or something like that. Or a candy. Well, apparently I let somebody sing on stage with Darius. You did? Yeah. Yeah. I can't hand out backstage passes. I got to be fair to Darius. But maybe he didn't know about it this last time. Let's see Keith in Chico. Hi, Keith. Hey, guys. Happy Friday. Yeah, I just wanted to give credit to the packers offensive play calling and Jordan Love. Find it interesting how well Love is playing the position, pushing the ball downfield, and he's competent runner of the football, too. Though the roster doesn't seem that impressive. They're making the game look really easy and I just wanted to give them a bunch of credit. Yeah, yeah, they're getting a lot of credit, you know, and. But you know, we're going to talk about the defense, but because you held the Lions and commanders offenses, two offenses that average at least 28 points per game last season and you held them to a combined 31 points. Yeah, we should be talking about the packers defense. Four sacks, 12 quarterback hits. And this is four days after having four sacks, nine quarterback hits against the Lions. I mean, Micah Parsons is making an impact because his numbers might not be great at the end of the season. He might have eight and a half sacks, but the other players around him, they're going to love him come contract time. They'd be like, thank you, sir. Thank you. Like Jalen Carter with the Eagles, Aaron Donald with the Rams. They're going to help all those other players. Jeff in Tampa. Good morning, Jeff. Hey, good morning, dp. I was going to talk the locals team here and you're in my USF Bulls. Yeah, a couple things. I mean I think the 17 and a half points, getting that, I think that's free money. But I have, you know, usf. I mean, okay. Obviously, Florida's fertile recruiting grounds, and we're finally getting an on campus stadium, which will help a ton. So I was hoping maybe you could share some perspective on how you feel about USF this weekend. And then also, like, long term, like, do we have a shot of retaining our coach? I feel he'll be a hot property. Yeah, I probably am not going to do a deep dive on South Florida. I mean, there's other things to talk about. I. I hope they do well. I. Off to a great start. The way they've won their first two games, you know, it's. It's a good story. Yes. Todd, I thought you were bullish on South. Thank you, Todd. No, I got other things to talk about. I already spent time on South Florida. All right. I didn't get a jersey. Like, this is, you know, reciprocal. Like I'm, you know, talking about you. Why don't you share some love here? It's a reasonable request. Would you check the mail, see if I've got my South Florida jersey? Yeah. Probably be here by Monday or Tuesday, the latest, I would think. Well, if they lose, then maybe hold off on the jersey. But if they win, they beat Miami. Now all of a sudden, we are in the top 10. Yes. Marvin, if they just lose this one game and run the table the rest of the season, can they still get into the playoffs? Probably not. Damn. Probably not. All right, we did one hour already. It's done. It's gone. But we get two more on this Friday. Every day's super bowl. Win or lose, we celebrate. Todd. Love it. Somebody got 12 hours of sleep yesterday, and they're feeling energetic. Fritz, he's here. Seaton's here. Marv, Paulie, yours truly. Hour two on the way. Hey, this is Matt Jones. I'm Drew Franklin, and this is NFL Cover Zero.
