It's a meat Friday and I believe we're having Chinese food. I've not seen the menu. I don't know if that constitutes as a meat Friday. Maybe somebody could let me know what the menu is going to be, as we always do on a Friday to let the audience live vicariously through us with what we're having. Chris Weber, hall of Famer, will join us. We'll also talk to the Pirates pitcher Paul Skeens, the rookie of the year. His rookie card just sold for more money than he makes in his salary this year. He is supposed to make a little under 900,000. His rookie card just went for over a million dollars. He'll stop by a little bit later on some interesting games last night. McNeese State over Clemson. They had a big lead held on for Dear Life and Drake over Missouri as well. Games coming up. You got Duke against Mount St. Mary's Florida's in action as well. Alabama, Michigan State. And then on Saturday we get the showdown between John Calipari, Arkansas against rick Patino in St. John's which will be very spicy as the winner will go to the Sweet 16 8773, DP Show Email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP Show Good morning. No subscriptions ever. A great alternative for your kids or parents. You can go to rapidradios.com for 60% off free shipping. We'll get to phone calls, 877-3-DP show operators sitting by. We'll come up with a poll question. Play of the day, stat of the day, all of that forthcoming. Any other headlines here? Steph Curry got banged up a little bit, sat out the second half against the Raptors. Alex Ovechkin, the great eight is now seven away from passing Wayne Gretzky. So the great eight has 888 career goals. Seven away from Wayne Gretzky. Don't know if it's headline worthy. It is interesting that Bronnie James had 17 points and five assist in 30 minutes of work in a loss to Milwaukee. Take that, Stephen A. Smith. Bronnie is back and better than ever. Yes, Marvin. But as a father, I don't know if Stephen A. Is going to say the same thing to Bronnie or LeBron about playing his son last night against Milwaukee. I mean, after all, wasn't he playing against Dame Lillard? I don't know if Bronnie got lit up, but you know, it's a nice showing, respectable showing for him. He got a little bit of run there and they're holding their own. That's the most important thing. With LeBron out, just kind of stay at around 500 with him out of the lineup. And then when you get him back, then maybe you can start to close in on maybe a secure, a more secure playoff spot. Yes, Marvin. And you'll take 17 points from any 55th pick in the NBA draft? Yes. You'll take it? Yes. If you're 50. If you're late, second round pick, score 17 points at NBA game. All right, maybe we could do something with him. The Big Ten is 40 in the tournament so far. Biggies 3 and O. SEC is 4 and 3. You have the ACC at 1 and 2, Mountain west at 0 2. You know this where you have the turf war about whose conference is better. Does this help with North Carolina? That, hey, you know, look at the schedule we played. And then all of a sudden you go, you lost to Clemson. And Clemson just lost to McNee State. Although McNee State, they were far quicker. You saw that in the first half. And then all of a sudden Clemson started to come to life. Down 10 late, came back to close it to two and ended up losing. And you know, you have McNeese State's coach who is already going to move on and take another job at NC State. And we were talking about this when A coach says, you know, I hate to see a coach when he has to lie. When Roy Williams was at Kansas and everybody knew he was going to North Carolina, but he couldn't say, hey, I don't want to take away from my kids. I just want to focus on the game. I get it. But, you know, in this day and age, it feels like everybody is coming or going, players, coaches. And at least with Will Wade, who was at LSU before he got caught up in a scandal, has done a really good job at McNee State. And he's taking another job, but he's staying on to coach the team, probably taking some players with him when he goes to NC State. It's just the landscape. It's not fair. Players want to transfer. This is basically coaches transferring. It's a. It's a coaching transfer portal. But he's at least up front with, you know, the fan base, his players. Let's make something happen here in the tournament. Yeah, See? Yeah, I mean, I think. I love that it's the idea of being up front and being like, you know, at the end of this year, I'm out. If this goes well, I'm gonna leave this year and maybe a couple of you guys come with me. But why don't we go try and get one? Why don't we try to make a run? I. I love that. Well, you have players who are going to be leaving that are playing in the tournament, and he's just. At least, you know, at least there's transparency that, yes, I am leaving now. The school could have said, hey, we don't want you to coach our team. You know, you go back to Bill Freer at Michigan if you're old enough to remember. He was going to, I think Arizona State, and then I think Bo Shembechler was the AD and he said, no, I want a Michigan man coaching our team. And so Bill Frieder went to Arizona State. Yes. That's why, like so much of this sometimes in sports becomes. We're just sort of waiting for the right cliche answer. And then we check the box. Be like, that's what you're supposed to say. Good job. You did. You handled that right. I hate. I hated the coach. Come on, guys. We're just trying to focus on the game here, okay? Is this the right time? It plays for this. We. Where coaches knowing they're leaving would throw it back on the media and be like, how dare you? Shame on you for even asking the question. This is not the time or place. Like, dude, like, you're lying. Everybody knows you're lying to us. And then we would be like, oh, see, he handled it right. That's what you're supposed to do. It's crazy. Arkansas knocked off Kansas. So John Calipari first year at Arkansas and that ends Kansas. Kansas, NCAA record streak of 17 consecutive wins in the round of 64. Here's one for you, though. Kansas is the first preseason number one to lose in the round of 64 since Kansas in 2005. This is the start of the day brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of this program. So that sets up the Rick Pitino facing John Calipari matchup. And these two don't always see eye to eye. Here's Pitino, St. John's head coach on facing John Calipari. I've always had great respect for John. I've always said, I told our team we have not seen this type of size and this type of athleticism all year. We have not seen that. Creighton has a 72 center, but they have multiple guys athleticism wise, we haven't seen this this year. So we know what we're up against. Obviously they had a lot of injuries. That's why they opened up 05. But they got it together right now. And if they. I don't know where they finished in the sec. 8th, 9th in the sec, but if they finished 8th and 9th, what I watched today, I'm glad we're not in the SEC because that's the talent level in that conference is amazing to me. All right, so everybody's playing nice right now, but I'm sure that you'll get. And maybe John Calipari will talk about their relationship and I don't know, like when it went sideways between these two, but you know, it feels like competition. You know, coaching at Kentucky. John's done a nice job at Arkansas and Patino, of course, is doing Patino like things at St. John's some of the matchups today I'm interested in Maryland versus Grand Canyon and you're probably going to say, why? Well, Grand Canyon is a good team and they're facing a Maryland team that I think has as good a starting five as just about anybody except for Duke and Florida. But then there's like this subcurrent, this undercurrent here going on between the Maryland head coach and his athletic director. Kevin Willard is the Maryland head coach and he's not happy with what's going on at Maryland. I need to see fundamental changes done. I want this program to be Great. I want it to be the best in the country. I want to win a national championship. But there's things that need to change. When you're at a place for three years and you put your heart and soul into it, you kind of sit there and say, okay, wait a second. For us to be really successful, X, Y and Z needs a change. And first and foremost, I need to make sure that we are where we are with Nil and I can do the things that I want to do with my, my program. You know, I wanted to spend an extra night in New York this year to celebrate Christmas with my team, and I was told that we can't do that because it's too expensive. So I don't know how we can be a top tier program and I can't spend one extra night in New York because it's too expensive. Okay. Now, there's other things going on. You've got Kevin Willard, who has been reportedly linked to taking the Villanova job. And then you have Maryland's athletic director, Damon Evans, according to espn, is the potential primary target to become the athletic director at smu. So you have two guys who could be headed elsewhere and, well, it sounds like the athletic director is leaving and maybe the head coach is leaving as well. Other than that, let's go out and play some good basketball. Come on in here. Let's get in here. Ready? Break. Poll question today, Seaton. What are we going to go with? Yeah, I'll tell you. Kevin Willard, he certainly understands leverage, doesn't he? Holy smokes. I don't know if I'm him. And you got that much of a problem at Maryland and you're voicing that. Do you voice it if you're leaving or do you voice it to let people know why you left? And he might be. It might be a preemptive strike there where you're like, hey, try to do the best I could. I can't keep up with these other schools. You know, they're killing us. With Nil, they probably get to spend an extra night in New York at Christmas time. Yes. Yeah, he's either getting himself a new deal or, like, and getting all the money that he wants or he's setting the stage for why he's on his way out. Yeah, yeah. Those are like the two options. And Villanova, after Jay Wright left, back to back non tournament teams. And so Kevin Willard might be leaving Maryland whenever that tournament run in ends and then going to Villanova. 877-3DP Show Email Address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter Handle it DP Show Any other poll questions that you're thinking during this first hour of the program? Yeah, let's see. Marvin sent one in here. This is fun. In honor of Chris Weber joining us today, the college basketball team ever is Marvin. I'll run down these, but you jump in wherever you feel necessary. Ewing's Georgetown. Super cool. Five slam a jama. Iconic 90s UNLV Michigan Fab Five winner. Other. Neither. Neither. I see a lot of parallels between that. The UNLV team and the Fab Five team. They had a similar, like, aura to them, you know? Yeah, yeah. Us against the world type thing. Do you put Duke with Laetner and Hurley and Grant Hill? I think we said coolest. Yeah, me and seeing on the same page, we said coolest, not greatest. I mean, they were. They were good. They were so great. They really were, but they weren't really cool. Yes, Todd. The other thing is, it seems like you need a cool, hip nickname to rally behind, like a Fab 5 or running revs and things like that. Duke didn't really have a nickname, either love them or hated them, but if they had some kind of cool name, maybe they'd be higher up on our list. Okay, did they get a. Did they have a nickname other than, like, national champs or something? I don't think so. Yes, Marvin. And I think also you got to see, like, the influence around you. Not many people I knew were wearing, like, Duke starter jackets. People had, like, UNLV started. Like, you saw videos. I saw Tupac with a unlv. I had no idea what that was. And then the Fab Five, when I was young, that's my first favorite team ever. So I had a bunch of Michigan starter gear because I was like, man, Jalen Rose. I was like, jalen. That's a cool name. My mom always said that. Oh, I'd love that name. I said, of course. Yes, Dylan. I was going to say name wise. Five Slam a jam. I think takes the cake. Right. Well, there was also. Well, it was Dr. Dunkenstein. That was Louisville with Daryl Griffith. Isn't that a great nickname? Duncan Stein. Dr. Duncan. I mean, if somebody came up with it today, it'd be like, what do you. What? But the fact that it exists, it absolutely worked. Yeah. Dr. Dunkenstein. Yes, Dylan. Well, I know Minwu Lee, the golfer is going by Dr. Chipinski these days because he's always chipping it off the green. Chip Inski. Yeah. Okay. That's a pretty good nickname. Dr. Chip Inski. All right. We'll get to phone calls. We got them all lined up here. 8773 DP show. We'll settle on a poll question. C. Web will yes, Marvin. The Illinois team with Kendall Gill and those guys. I forget they had a really cool nickname. I forgot. Or like Lethal Weapon 3 with Georgia Tech. Maybe not coolest, but they had really cool nicknames. I'm not sure if you put them in the coolest category, but nicknames definitely help. Like Fritz, he said, well, of all the days that Paulie is out, he could help us with the Fighting Aligni and their nickname there with Kendall Gill. Oh, the Flying Align, I think it was called. Oh, oh, not that cool. Okay. Maybe it's cooler in my head. Sorry. Yeah. All right, we'll take a break. Just getting started here and phone calls. C. Webb will join us. Paul schemes of the Pirates a little bit later on as well. We might hear from John Calipari as well. We're back after this. And the Dan Patrick Show. Here's advice from Google CMO Lorraine Twohill on how to treat AI like a partner. I see AI as an incredible co pilot. You may use different tools or toys to get the work done, but ultimately, as editor, as creator, as maker, you own it and it needs to be good. AI is just the latest flavor of that. You're still the judge of what good looks like. I'm Dan Roth, LinkedIn's editor in chief. On my podcast this Is Working, leaders like Indra Nooyi, Ray Dalio and Rich Paul share strategies for success and the real lessons that have shaped them. These days reality TV and social media have us thinking love is instant. We're marrying strangers at first sight, we're finding love through walls, or we're even judging people by balloon pops. But what really makes a relationship last? On this episode of Dope Labs, poet, author and relationship expert, Young Pueblo breaks down the psychology and biology of loving better and he provides eye opening insights and advice that we all need. It's a big realization moment that you should not be postponing your happiness. Like your greatest happiness is not necessarily going to like come from a relationship. Your partner. They should add to your happiness, but your happiness is really coming from within you. Listen to Dope labs on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2020, a group of young women in a tidy suburb of New York City found themselves in an AI fueled nightmare. Someone was posting photos. It was just me naked. Well, not me, but me with someone else's body parts on. My body parts looked exactly like my own. I wanted to throw up. I wanted to scream. It happened in Levittown, New York. But reporting the series took us through the darkest corners of the Internet and to the front lines of a global battle against deepfake pornography. This should be illegal, but what is this? This is a story about a technology that's moving faster than the law and about vigilantes trying to stem the tide. I'm Margie Murphy. And I'm Olivia Carville. Okay, let's go. This is. This is your day. It really is. Paulie's not here. You got Chinese food, You got rhyme time coming up. It's just a lot of fun things going on right now. Yeah, this is your day. Although there was no fried wontons or wonton egg drop soup or spare ribs, but egg rolls, we can make that work. Wow. I said, ty, a little instant message. He felt bad because he said, oh, I kind of ordered things yesterday. I. I should have checked with you, the Chinese food master, about what you specifically might like. So I gave him a little guilt trip that, where's the house fried rice and the steamed chicken and broccoli and spare ribs and stuff like that. But that sounds like a really nice. A nice group. Anyway, thank you, Todd. That's a look. A gift. A gift. Chinese food in the mouth. Is that a phrase? I have no idea. Are you kind of. Did you take over for Paul? Are you. Are you filling Paul's shoes today? Kind of. I guess. I just kind of. I put a rundown together and put some. Some notes together. Outside of that, I'm just waiting for the Chinese food and getting ready for rhyme time next hour. Okay. All right. Andy in Rhode island leads us off. I. Andy, what's on your mind today? Good morning, Dan. Dan X. What's going On Martin Fritzi. Dan, last night was amazing. And can I state? How about them Cowboys and known? It's not about Dallas. It's about the mcneese state cowboys and being in attendance last night because we're hosting the final four over here. Well, not the final four, but March madness over here in Providence. It was so amazing just to be part of a college basketball atmosphere, Seeing how, you know, the crowds collectively just, you know, chair their home team, you know, it was amazing. And to be part of that, it was so great. Dan. I can't believe my 37 years. I robbed myself of never even going through a college basketball game because it was just so electric. And seeing the way that the coach celebrated at the end, I didn't think. I thought the man was going to come up to me and give me a hug. That's how crazy it was. But nonetheless, Dan, I hope you all enjoy your meet Friday. Fritzy, hold it down. Don't have too many plates. I love you guys, and I'll check in soon. All right, Andy. Have a great weekend. There. Let's see. Buddha in San Francisco. Good morning, Buddha. No, no, buddy. Happy me Friday, boys. Welcome back to the minister of humor. Rising like the phoenix. Let's go, Fritzy. Let's go, Dan. This might be a deep cut, but Johnny depp did a musical movie in the 90s called Crybaby. And I swear, the first time and every time now that I hear Pandora's rendition of the sad of the day, I could swear she is one of the characters who is in that movie. Sounds very much like she's out of that film. It's pretty wild. But in honor of March madness, Dan, and the resurrection of Rick Pitino, I think we got to go back to Fritzi's. He gave us one of the greatest lines of Rick Pitino regarding the pasta. Pasta premature. Let's go. Yeah. Yeah. That Todd was doing mock headlines. Thank you, Buddha. And that was one for Rick Patino when he apparently had some relations with a woman at a restaurant. Italian restaurant. Good times at the restaurant. And Todd came up with pasta premature. I don't know if that really was good times. So that really didn't work out well for Rick Patino at all. Yeah. Just a headline. Yeah. Good. Good for having poking fun at it. Not for the people that were participating in that. It was good for you. That's all that mattered. Yeah. Sean in Kansas. Hi, Sean. Hey, guys. Thanks for taking my call again. I went to KU right after they won in 2008, and it was like the golden years. Bill Self could do no wrong. The last two years, though, we've had the number one transfer out of the transfer portal. We've had a bunch of all Americans, and for some reason, they just never gelled. They never played in unison. And you could see that last night. And I'm just wondering, because Bill Self, you know, all these other coaches are retiring because of Nil and stuff like that. Bill Self seems to be one of the last ones left. And I don't know if he's. I have full faith in him. I love the lifetime contract we gave him. But these last two years, he showed he can't get a bunch of, you know, great players to try and play as a team, and last night showed that. I just wonder what he's thinking today, if he wants to go full reset or if he's thinking retirement or what. What do you. Well, I thought he was going to go to Oklahoma State, and I thought that there was at least that possibility of rumors attached about him leaving, going to. I think that's his alma mater. But since 20, Kansas has entered three seasons as the number one team in the country. None of those teams finished as a top seed in the tournament, and none made it past the round of 32. You know, you kind of take it for granted with some of these teams, and with Kansas, it feels like you. You plug them in and you realize that they're going to get to the sweet 16 or the elite Eight. That's just not the case anymore. And Nil has leveled the playing field. It's not just you're getting somebody, somebody else is getting somebody. Also the transfer portal as well. But I would say Kansas is still the hunted. But I don't know how much longer that is going to last. And you do see these coaches who have been in it, their career, their lifers, and at some point, the transfer portal, and Nil drives them out. Coach K didn't want to deal with it. Coach Saban didn't want to. Jay Wright at Villanova. You know, a lot of these coaches are like, I got into this business because I could control everything. And they realized they're not able to control as much as they think or they once were able to. Jonathan in Long Island. Hi, Jonathan. What's on your mind today? Good morning, gentlemen. Long time. Several times. I am super excited. Last night was the trifecta, a rare one with Paulie being absent. I think one good soccer second. They were having World cup qualifiers throughout the night. UCLA was on tv, the Lakers were on tv. Great Night for me. I have a pie to the face bet with Fritzi. Good. As an LA transplant here in Long Island, I've adopted St. John's and Ricky P. And the boys Final Four. They're coming out of their region up for Fritzi because he's a Broncos guy. I gave him right of refusal, but anyone's up for it, I'd be happy to. My wife would love to throw a pie in my face. Trust me. We're expecting in August, so it'll be okay. Jonathan wants to know. I think most of you guys have St. John's going to the Final Four, don't you? I have them. God, I have them beating Duke in the national title game, so that wouldn't work for me. Pie wise. So do I. Okay. Oh, okay. Yeah. Seaton, you have St. John's going to want to have them losing in the Elite Eight. Okay. What about you, Dylan, the resident gambler on this show? Not a good gambler, but a resident gambler on their show. A resident. I have them losing, I think, next round. Oh, yeah. Do you want a piece of Jonathan? He's got them. You wouldn't happen to have them losing to Kansas in the next round, would you? You know, as a matter of fact, it did. I wasn't gonna bring that up, but, yeah, I'll take that. All right, Jonathan, you gotta bet Dylan will take you up on it. He doesn't have Ricky P. Going much further. Let's see. Don in Arkansas. Hi, Don. What's on your mind today? Good morning, gentlemen. Here's. Here's what I can say. You forgot about the. The moniker. 40 minutes of hell with Nolan. Kind of like five slam a jama. Anyway, Caliper, he proved it last night, and I think you guys are giving Patino too much, too much credit. Why don't we see what happens come Saturday? Well, wait a minute. How am I giving Rick Pitino too much credit? Well, I mean, y'all are all over St. John and. And all that kind of stuff. I think Arkansas story is just as. Just as interesting, kind of. And, you know, hey, there are other teams except big east teams up there. Oh, here we go. Here we go. Got our east coast bias. Yes. Marvin. We haven't talked about St. John since I was 15 years old. I'm 40 now. We've been talking about Arkansas even before Calipari got there when Muscleman was there. They had three McDonald's all Americans his last season there, and they were a four or five seed. What are we talking about? We haven't talked about St. John's in forever. We've talked more about Arkansas and March Madness. We even talked about Musselman's wife, who I worked with at espn. So, yes, we have talked about Arkansas. We haven't talked about St. John's and St. John's is a pretty amazing story if you look at what Pitino's done and revitalizing St. John's I go back to the 80s when that was Big east basketball at its finest. Patino's bounced around, goes from my, you know, every place he's gone, he's won. And, yeah, it's a big deal. But I. We did talk about Connecticut, if there's an east coast bias because they won the national championship the two previous years. But I don't know if we're going out of our way to say, boy, look at what Rick Pitino did. You know, what Caliperi did was interesting that he kind of wore out his welcome at Kentucky. He knew it. Kentucky went in and, you know, went out and got. Mark Pope brought him in. Caliperi goes to Arkansas. He's friends with one of the big donors there, big boosters there. Muscleman goes to usc. I mean, John should be in the tournament. He should be competitive. He's really good at recruiting. And they got a big win last night against Kansas. So let's see what happens coming up on Saturday. I think it's a great matchup. It's fun. We do get caught up in coach versus coach, as opposed to players versus players. But that's just the familiarity part of this. David in Ohio. Hi, David. Hey, Dan. Speaking of Dylan making part of the face that he still owes me one from Taylor Swift. I haven't forgotten about that. So thank you. Okay, David. David sounded a little miffed at you, Dylan. He did sound miffed. He is right, though. I did. That was a bad bet, but I did take it. Okay, so I'm due. Pie. Do we want to. Do you always. You guys say, oh, the weather's got to be at least like 49 and a half degrees before you go outside to do the pie to the face. Yes. Marvin. That's just me because I'm soft. Oh, okay. Dylan's not soft. Well, not at all. Then maybe a pie to the face at the end of the show today. I don't know if you got, you know, with your favorite wardrobe, your favorite outfit on today. I do really like this shirt, but I could do. I could go tarps off for the pie. Okay, well, we could. We could get you, you know, we got everything on sale@danpatrick.com. we could get you one of the T shirts there and ruin a perfectly good T shirt then. Yes, yes. But we'll get Tyler, whip up a pie and then maybe you pay off your Taylor Swift Super Bowl. Beth, John in Riverside. Hi, John. What's on your mind today? Hey, Good morning fellas. A five five slim thick 158 stuck at front row. Wow. So I got a quick Stat of the Day song. It goes stat, stat, stat, stat of the day. Stat, stat, stat et Stat of the day. Here comes the stat of the day. Okay, nailed it. Nailed it. All right, John. Thank you, Joe, thank you. That will be the first and last time you'll hear that on the show. Are you sure though? Yeah, I don't like that. I know. Simplicity. You guys like that. But you don't like Pandora. Oh my God. No offense, Pandora. I like that infinitely more than what would happened with that Pandora song. I love Pandora. The day. We love your start of the day. Start of the day, start of the day. Oh, damn. Give us the state of the day. Thank you, Pandora. It's awesome. Awesome. Brett in Michigan. Hi Brett. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan, how you doing? 5, 10, 185. I, I just got a question. With the new seating rate process that they do in the, in the NCAA bracket, why is Michigan State played at 10 o'clock our local time way on the west coast? I don't know. I don't have an answer for that. I'm sorry. I can get some of my best people on that, Brett, to ask why you guys have to wait till 10 o'clock at night. I know they're going to expand the tournament and I think what will happen that. Okay, we have 68. I think you still want to keep the 1 through 16 seeds. I think you're going to have more first four games. You'll probably double the first four games. That way you kind of keep the bracket integrity of 1 versus 16. I don't think they want to go, you know, an 18th seed. I think 16. But you're, you're going to get more of those first four games and you can add the games on the front end. I don't know if people will complain, you know, the tournament is still. People love the tournament because you're watching teams that you probably like. McNee State, they were fun to watch yesterday. And who would have thought Clemson would score 13 points in the first half? You know, you get these schools every tournament. There's always that one school where we kind of adopt. There's a Cinderella story to it. And I think that's what's really fun about all of this. But yes, I think we're adding. They never subtract. The question is, do they go to 76 teams? Do we add eight more? Which means four more games and I get the feeling that's probably where we're headed. We'll take a break. When we come back, we'll give you our play of the day. More of your phone calls as well. Chris Weber, Join us coming up next hour in the Pirates star pitcher Paul Schemes a little bit later on. My podcast this Is Working can help with that. Here's advice from Google CMO Lorraine Twohill on how to treat AI like a partner. I see AI as an incredible copilot. You may use different tools or toys to get the work done, but ultimately, as editor, as creator, as maker, you own it and it needs to be good. AI is just the latest flavor of that. You're still the judge of what good looks like. I'm Dan Roth, LinkedIn's editor in chief. On my podcast this Is Working. Yeah, I'd be happy to. We got up there one from Marvin Coolest basketball college basketball team ever. Your options are Ewing's Georgetown 5 Slam a jama, the 90s UNLV or the Michigan Fab 5. We're doing this in honor of Chris Weber coming on today. Last place right now is ewing's Georgetown. Only 4% of the vote on that one, man. Yeah, they were big, though. They were. They. That was before anybody else. I think. Like they like a cultural phenomenon with wearing Georgetown gear because that was in the 80s. I don't remember anybody doing that prior to that. Five slam a jama was around the same time, though, with Georgetown. Faisal Am Jama right now has got about 24% of the vote. In first place is Michigan's Fab Five, followed really, really closely by the 90s UNLV teams. Okay. The running Rebels. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, man. I thought Stacey Ogman was going to be the guy. I really did. I he was like that team was super cool. But I thought, man, that dude right there, he's gonna go to the next level and just crush. I he couldn't shoot well enough, but he was like that Swiss army knife that it felt like Stacy could do just about everything. I don't know if he was great at any everything or anything, but he was a really good player. Larry Johnson was awesome. Anderson Hunt, I mean, they had a and they played defense. I think that's where you tend to look at teams and go, boy, they're a great offensive team. You had to play defense for Tarkanian at unlv and they would turn you over and then that's when they would start running. But Greg Anthony was point guard, I think. Greg, I don't know if he led the nation in scoring. He was at Portland State and then transferred to unlv. Does that sound right? I think he was one of the top scorers in the country. Yeah. Marvin, Larry Johnson was a juco transfer also. Yeah, that's true. Tark was in the transfer portal 30 years ago. Yes, he was. Tark was ahead of his time in a lot of. A lot of things. Aaron in Missouri. Hi, Aaron. What's on your mind today? Good morning, D.P. just kind of wanted to get your. Quick take Drake upsteading Missouri last night. And they have a first year head coach, Ben McCollum, who led Drake, who led Northwest Missouri State to four D2 national titles. He's got a bunch of D2 guys, a couple juco guys. You guys talked about the purity basketball quite a bit. Just want to get your take on Ben McCollum and Drake. Isn't Ben McCollum moving on. Is he rumored to be taking the Iowa job? Is that right, Marvin? Yeah, I think there's been some rumblings. I don't know if it's rumblings. Yeah, it's not a fact yet, but I think it's rumblings. Yeah, I didn't, I didn't look at Drake as an upset over Missouri. And then they started chanting sec overrated. See, this is. I love when it gets territorial, these turf wars of our conference, you know, going into the tournament. SEC, 14 schools, all right. You get one or two knocked off, it's okay. It's just, you don't want to get the top seeds knocked off. The other ones. Yeah, there's going to be some, you know, collateral damage because you have so many teams in the tournament here. Ellen in Wisconsin. Hi, Ellen. What's on your mind today? Oh, good morning. I. I have a couple of things. One is, please, please, no more singing. Trixie's bad enough. Number two is it would be really funny to have brackets based on coach's age, you know, because Pitino's up there. And then compared to Pitino, some of these guys are embryos. I mean, they're so young. And as far as the winding up from the guy from Arkansas, it is not possible for SEC teams to not get enough coverage. Coverage. It's just not. They have their own network, you know, so I'll take your comments, if any, off the radio. Thanks so much for taking my call. All right, Ellen, have a great weekend. Yeah. You know, this used to be kind of baked in with fandom that ESPN on the East Coast. There's, therefore there's an east coast bias. And there probably was, but I think that I don't see that or feel that as much as I used to. And look, were we guilty of that? Yes. Did we focus on the Yankees and the Red Sox way too much? Yes. But I don't, I don't see it territorial now. If anything, ESPN probably spends more time on the Lakers than any other topic that they have. They spend more time on the Cowboys than any other topic. That's not east coast bias. So if you're going to play to the East Coast, I just think the fan is smart, you know, but ESPN going to play the hits. And the hits are LeBron and the Lakers and you have the Dallas Cowboys. And the Dallas Cowboys haven't accomplished anything in 30 years, but they still, they will lead a show if there's any, any chance of anything said that has to pertain to the Cowboys. And I don't have any football updates for you. I did work yesterday talking to some people, one of my sources. I don't know what's happening with the Giants. I still think they're taking Shador Sanders. I don't know what's happening with the Browns. Is Russell Wilson going to go there? I don't know what's happening with Aaron Rodgers, but if I do have anything, then I'll let you know. But as it is now, I think Aaron Rodgers is probably looking at retiring or at least the potential to retire. If nothing happens with Minnesota, but we're only in March, something could happen. I mean, J.J. mcCarthy didn't play a game last year. He got hurt before the start of the regular season. If something would happen to Matthew Stafford, you know, throw out a couple of these names, you know, with teams who have super bowl aspirations, then maybe Aaron Rodgers plays again. But by all account, or, you know, at least some of the accounts that we've heard, they were interested, but right now they're more interested in developing J.J. mcCarthy, which I get. I just. If you're Aaron Rodgers, is there another team that you want to play for? Because if he wanted to play for the Steelers, he could. If you wanted to play for the Giants, he could. I don't think he wants to. Therefore, it's either the Vikings or Malibu Andrew in Missouri. Andrew, what's on your mind? Today. Hey, how's it going? 61200. I. I've been a long time listener, first time caller. I'm actually getting married about seven hours and I wonder if I should work in something in the vows. My wife, TV wife, is a Vikings fan. I'm a Packers fan. Well, what. Okay, help me understand. Does everybody have a sense of humor and especially your soon to be wife? And what are you thinking of working in to your vows? I don't know, like something. Just something charming, something funny. But yeah, everybody's got a really good sense of humor with that stuff. They like maybe like something through skull and cheesehead or something. I don't know. I thought maybe you could help me workshop something. Well, I got the king of content, the minister of humor, Fritzi. If Andrew was going to work something into his vowels that had to do with the packers or the Vikings, any suggestions for him? I think there should be a limerick that involves cheese heads and Norsemen and also the color purple and the lambo leap. I could try to start putting some together, but I think some of those elements should be in there and some type of poem. It doesn't have to be rhymes, but I always like the rhymed Paul. So, Andrew, how about a limerick from Todd that you could use in your wedding vows? I think it's perfect because I'm actually wearing my thank you, Todd shirt right now, so I think that's perfect. How about that? Okay. What I would ask for in lieu of money to pay Todd for, you know, this great comedic content that he has that somebody takes a video and that we're able to show that on the show. Okay, we could definitely make that happen. Andrew, good luck. We're all counting on you. Todd with a limerick. Chris Weber, hall of Famer, will join us. Coming up, Paul Skeens, the Pirates pitcher as well. More of your phone calls. One hour in the books on this Meat Friday. Back after this.
