Morale is high, I think. By the way, we're not here on Friday. That doesn't mean we won't have a meet Wednesday. Sausage or bacon? Egg and cheese bagels. Hash browns today. Who has a better than we do? Nobody. That didn't sound too enthusiastic. Harmony, though, once again, sausage or bacon, Egg and cheese bagels. No, no, no. No body.
Miles Gray
Nobody.
Dan Patrick

Go to rapidradios.com up to 60% off free shipping. Tomorrow, of course, is Thanksgiving. We know what comes with Thanksgiving. So I go home yesterday after work. Long day at work. Of course. Stressful dealing with Fritzie. And my wife goes, hey, I made dinner already. I go, awesome. Pick up the aluminum foil turkey. I go, hun, we're having turkey Thursday. Yeah, I know, I know. So we had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, even though we're having it on Thursday now. It tasted great. The meal was made, so you can't be. I couldn't object too much, but, like, that's Thanksgiving. How many times do you have turkey during the course of a year to begin with? Usually once. And here I have it twice in the span of 48 hours. Well, why don't you just make the meals yourself? Oh, no, no, no. She didn't say that. I'm saying what the audience is probably thinking. Oh, well, why don't you help out? I. I will, I will and I do. But that one was one of those where even my daughter goes, why are we having Thanksgiving? I go, shh, just eat.
Marvin Prince
Yeah, Pauline, any chance your wife, was she not cooking Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday and she was showing on Tuesday? I still have my fastball. Check this out. This is how I do turkey.
Dan Patrick
She doesn't need to. She's like Nolan Ryan, right? The fastball is always going to be there.
Marvin Prince
Maybe she was just, you know, bringing some cheese on a Tuesday night.
Dan Patrick
No, because it's just my wife and my youngest daughter. So nobody knows, you know, she wasn't showing off for anybody. Nobody was going, she can still bring it. But yeah, maybe I'm maybe building up my tolerance for, for Thursday. Can't wait. Come on in. By the way, if you're watching on Peak, I thank you for downloading the app. Our radio affiliates around the country, our specials going on@dan patrick.com the Tailgate Moonshine. And we got a special offer with that. We got the flannels, we got the calendars, a lot of items, T shirts there as well for your holiday shopping. All right. So if you're dialing us up, 8773 DP show email address dp dan patrick.com A lot of football to talk about. The rankings came out, big games coming up the next couple of days, next five days, the rankings, Oregon, Texas, Miami, Boise State. They that's your top four seeds. And of course there's going to be chaos here once you get to these conference championship games and somebody goes to a conference championship game and loses. And then all of a sudden there's going to be this uproar of wait a minute, they just lost and they're still staying in the playoffs. Somebody's going to have three losses here. And the games this weekend, a lot of college football this weekend. And you could lose your way out of this. I don't know if anybody's getting in this weekend, but you can lose your way out of it. But we'll talk to Andy Staples. He'll join us in an hour from now. He covers college football. RYAN Fitzpatrick, Amazon Prime NFL analyst They have the Black Friday game. That's the Raiders against the Chiefs. We know what happened last year that was over Christmas between those two. And my former tag team partner, Kenny Maine, former ESPN anchor, now back at espn and he has a documentary on Wiffle ball and he'll join us a little bit later on as well. Got to play the day Poll questions stat of the day. Your involvement always welcome. Tyler sitting by to take your phone calls. 8773 DP show also some baseball. The Dodgers scoop up Blake Snell. And Kansas dropped Duke last night. Number one team in the country, Kansas over Duke and interesting game, Cooper flag. It felt like it was the tune in to watch Cooper flag game. He didn't play well. Kansas did a really good job with him and pulled out the victory there. But back to the Dodgers, Blake Snell, a couple of Cy Youngs. Now he's not a guy who's Going to go more than five or six innings, but he has two Cy Youngs and is pitched pretty well in his career. He's just not going to go well. A complete game now for a starter feels like six innings. Like it's almost. There's going to be a generation that's going to go, my God, did you see he went seven innings? What? Yeah, that's almost. I mean, that's getting unheard of as well. Here he is. Get off my lawn. Yep, you're right. It's Thanksgiving. I should be better than that Thanksgiving day menu. Bears, Lions, Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins and the Packers. Here's my curiosity over Thanksgiving. Which game will bring the highest rating? Bears, Lions, Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins, Packers. Now the Dolphins, they're, they're still kind of on the fringe here of a playoff and they've won three in a row playing the packers, who are sneaky right now, playing really good. I think the Giants and the Cowboys with backup, backup quarterbacks. But you have the Cowboys, you have the Giants. That'll probably be your big rating winner. You know, Bears, Lions. That leads us off sort of the hors d'oeuvres appetizer there. Then all of a sudden bring out the Cowboys and the Giants. I mean, I'll tune in just to see sort of what kind of mess is this? You know when you, when you have a, like a two year old and they're eating and then they're done eating and then you clean up and you're going, oh my God, it's all over the floor. Well, that's what it feels like. And it'll probably be a close game. It'll be like, what a mess. But I don't know, it was pretty good probably what you're going to get. And I know that the temperature is going to be a big deal with the Dolphins. Toughen up Dolphins. Once you win a game when the temperature is below 40 degrees, I think it's three and a half. Dolphins getting three and a half. What's the temperature game time expected to be, Paul?
Marvin Prince
28 degrees.
Dan Patrick
Oh, it's over. Packers win. Packers win. Okay, Seaton, what's poll question today at least for the first hour of this program?
Miles Gray
Well, he is the gift that keeps on giving.
Dan Patrick
Oh no. I'm gonna for. I'm gonna forewarn the audience.
Paulie
What do you mean, oh no, I don't like that reaction.
Dan Patrick
Wait, I was going to talk about Marvin. His Yukon Huskies lost last night again.
Paulie
I see what you're doing.
Dan Patrick
I like how people are just noticing Danny Hurley on The sidelines. Like, I can't believe he acts that way. I go, he was acting that way when he was at Rhode island or Wagner. That's the way his dad coached. This is who he is. We're just not used to seeing him lose at Connecticut. Now they've lost back to back games here. Yes. Marvin Yukon, apologist.
Todd Fritz
It's November. Wait until March.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Todd Fritz
March Madness. They win all the games by double digits.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right. Maybe they need to play a little defense now just to get ready for March.
Todd Fritz
Oh, they need to play a lot more defense.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Paulie
Todd, is it going to be like Brady Bunch where it's going to be either or is it going to be for UConn not doing what they're hoping to do in the tournament? You don't catch what I'm doing there.
Dan Patrick
Well, no, most of the audience doesn't either.
Paulie
Ladybug's pretty popular show. People still go back and watch those, even if they're.
Miles Gray
Our audience is definitely well aware of the Brady Bun show.
Dan Patrick
They're not aware of the.
Miles Gray
I don't know how we're skewing in the 20s these days, but I'm pretty.
Dan Patrick
Sure they're not doing that.
Miles Gray
I'm pretty sure we're well into.
Paulie
When someone wakes up with Marsha or, you know, the father loses the job, they'll play. They'll just slow down the theme music.
Dan Patrick
Like, oh, no, no, no, I got that. I was picking up on it. It was just.
Paulie
But you're worried that the 18 to 25 year old.
Dan Patrick
I was not worried about that. I, I was like, I don't. I didn't even get the reference there. Now I do. Wait a minute, hold on, let me laugh.
Paulie
It may in fact reach.
Dan Patrick
So I'm going to forewarn you. Todd's on fire today. On fire.
Miles Gray
And you are not in the mood for it.
Dan Patrick
I. Not as much because I just said slow down. Okay. He's the morning meeting emails like, there's a lot going on here and I don't want to be the lifeguard on duty. Okay.
Paulie
But it's a jovial day for the most part. It's Thanksgiving eve and there's three football games tomorrow. We're going to see family and friends and everyone should be in a great.
Dan Patrick
Every day is a Super Bowl.
Paulie
That's true.
Dan Patrick
This is no different. Okay, what is it you would like to tell us about your poll question?
Paulie
You want me to just go through them or how do we want to handle it?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, sure.
Paulie
All right. First one I had here Was how well do you understand how the College Football Playoff rankings get put together with the choices being very much. I should be on the selection committee, actually, kind of. But I could use a refresher course or. No clue. Roll Tide.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Second one. The Dodgers. Adding Blake Snell to their rotation is so unfair. Capitalism, baby. Have a salary cap then, if you don't like it.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
UConn losing two games at the Maui Invitational in November is troubling. Meaningless.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Next season, I hope Aaron Rodgers remains with the jets, plays for another team, retires, then crawls into a cave in Egypt with his ayahuasca. That's a little mean spirited.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
But that's the third choice.
Dan Patrick
Really? Really? Spec.
Paulie
Should Jerry Jones bring back Mike McCarthy next season? Yes.
Dan Patrick
No.
Paulie
We're only asking this to keep up with the mothership and steal a few clicks.
Dan Patrick
That's funny. I do like that one. You also have Thanksgiving sports names. I believe it's a little change on that.
Paulie
Paulie inspired me with. I really like his fill in the blank game and his dowel rankings and all the in and out and done. Done. This is a fill in the blank Thanksgiving themed edition.
Dan Patrick
Okay, Just give me one example here.
Paulie
One example would be. I don't think I've ever verbalized my feelings like this before, but I'm really grateful for blank grateful being like a Thanksgiving word.
Dan Patrick
Oh, okay.
Paulie
And it'll be like a sport to a coach, a player, a team, something ideally in the sports world, playing off Thanksgiving names without the actual names of.
Dan Patrick
So like cranberry is going to be in here. Or pumpkin pie could be in here.
Paulie
Anything like that. Stuffing gravy. But there'll be a sentence about it. And then you'll have to fill in the blank with a Thanksgiving themed topic.
Dan Patrick
Like I'd really like the knock the stuffing out of blank. Exactly.
Paulie
That'd be a great example.
Dan Patrick
Okay, I got it. All right.
Paulie
We could have fun with that.
Dan Patrick
Seaton. What about you? Any other poll questions?
Miles Gray
We have a couple more straightforward. Let's see. Paulie's got two here. If you could only watch one over the next five days. NFL or college football fun. Also, Bama is still in the playoff picture because they're a good threatening team. Or because of Nick Saban and his aura.
Dan Patrick
Yes. I'd say there's spillover. There's Saban spillover. I mean, you lose to Oklahoma the way you lost Oklahoma and that is. I. I still think we're living off the fumes of what Saban and what kind of team and this team can rise occasionally, but you know, they've had some really low lows. Like Saban would survive that loss, but Saban wouldn't lose a game like that. It'd be like. And they got blown out, but they're still really good. He's not there, but yeah, it feels like the committee is like, yeah, it's still Alabama. Any other poll questions here?
Miles Gray
I think we're going to go with one of those five.
Dan Patrick
One of the five.
Miles Gray
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
All right. Surprise me with one of the five.
Miles Gray
We'll sprinkle what else we're going to put in there. Which team gets, which game gets higher TV ratings.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Yeah. Because we could get clicks for the Cowboys.
Paulie
We could, in fact, Talk about Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones as much as possible.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Ton. All right, we'll take a break. Phone calls are coming up. We'll talk about the college football rankings. We got interesting NFL Weekend as well. Chiefs, Raiders. That's on Black Friday. That's a 13 point spread. I get the Bears getting 10 against the Lions, the Giants getting three and a half against the Cowboys and the Dolphins getting three and a half against the Packers. Then on Friday, it's The Raiders getting 12 against the Chiefs. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be working that game for Amazon. He'll join us coming up next hour. Take a break. Georgia Tech has had an interesting year starting with the win in Dublin against Florida State. I love their uniforms. Notre Dame favored by seven and a half against usc. That one's sneaky good. Miami minus ten and a half against Syracuse.
Todd Fritz
Marvin, that's my MP bomb.
Dan Patrick
Oh, a Marvin P bomb.
Todd Fritz
I'm taking Syracuse straight up.

Okay. Wow. Okay. We got a early P bomb. Normally that. That's Paulie's expertise.

What up, dp? Happy meat Wednesday, boys. Dan, after hearing all about Fritzie's appearance in the calendar this week on on my birthday month, mind you, I was like, but, but, but I had to check in. Fritzy indeed does not disappoint. Dan, looking great, Fritzie. Let's go, baby.
Paulie
Let's go, baby. Happy Thanksgiving.
Seaton
Dan. I know it's November and the Dodgers won the World Series last month, but we also won again yesterday with the acquisition of Blake Snell. And as a former giant, that makes it extra spicy.
Dan Patrick
Wow.
Seaton
And lastly, Dan, I just wanted to make sure I called in today to say that I'm thankful for you guys, all the BRGs, even you, Fritzie. I'm thankful for this Emmy nominated show and thankful to all DP nation, all the callers and who's got it better than us?
Dan Patrick
Nobody, buddy. Thank you, Buddha. Thank you. Yeah, Fritzie is the month of September and it's a good picture. Gotta admit, looks good.
Paulie
You know, it's interesting though. There's 30 days in the month of September and I need to lose about 30 pounds. It just kind of worked out that way.
Dan Patrick
Matt in Hawaii. Hi, Matt. Good morning. What's on your mind?
Seaton
Morning guys. Get to follow up. Buddha. What an honor. 61260 soft. So this is a little bit out of left Field. But it made Tyler laugh at least. So you guys were talking about bag day and the definition of the word bag. So I used to live in Indianapolis, and I worked at the hotel that hosted the Giants when they played the Patriots there for the Super Bowl. So the night before the game, I was tasked with bringing up ice to fill up baths for the players in their rooms. So I show up to a certain receiver's room who made a huge play in the fourth quarter, and he answers the room. Dark, naked, just answers the door. And if you've ever seen the remake of the Longest Yard with, I think it was Goldberg and the huge cup, that was an accurate depiction for him as well. And he could tell that it was striking to me because he said, believe. You know, seeing is believing. Bet big. Bet big. We going big tomorrow. And he just kept saying big. So I did take his advice, and I did end up winning big because of him. So his bag helped me get a bigger bag. Not sure if that's how I should word it, but thank you.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Matt. I could only guess who that player is who displayed his bag and displayed his bag and had a big catch there. Maybe Mario Manningham.
Todd Fritz
Super Mario.
Dan Patrick
Super Mario.
Marvin Prince
All Manningham.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Manninghood ham. Is that a Manningham? Doug in North Carolina. Hi, Doug. What's on your mind?
Seaton
Well, show history is on my mind today, Dan. And once again, I want to see if I can stump the Danettes with a question. Today marks the third anniversary of a very special moment on the show that, strangely enough, I got to share with Marvin Prince's wife. Can you remember what that moment was, Marvin?
Dan Patrick
Do you understand what Doug is referring to?
Todd Fritz
Things talking about the food, not touching.
Seaton
Food, not touching your wife. And I stood up to the nation, and I gotta give you a quick background story. When Marvin was the screener, he was like, simon Cowell. Tyler's the nicest world, and we'll let anyone through. He's like, Mr. Rogers. You had to impress Marvin. And I thought, there's no way I'm getting through. And I called up that day, and he's like, my wife feels the same way. I'm putting you on the air. And I was like, oh, great. And then I was like, this is not going to go well. And sure enough, the rest of the nation picked on me for three hours. Yeah, let your wife know I'm thinking about her tomorrow, and I'll be praying for her.
Dan Patrick
Doug, known as a separatist, and Marvin's wife can't have any of the food. Like the Green beans. Can't touch the turkey, can't touch the stuffing.
Todd Fritz
Yeah, she's got some real nerve.
Dan Patrick
Well, why don't you just get her a plate that is actually kind of formed that way. Oh, she's got one, like, sec. Oh, really?
Todd Fritz
Yeah. Here, take it.
Dan Patrick
Really? So she cordoned off all the other foods like you have. This is your turkey spot.
Todd Fritz
Well, I did it as a joke, but we just have normal plates, though. She's got some real nerve, though.
Dan Patrick
Separatists. Yeah. Terzo in Des Monet. Hey, Terzo.
Seaton
Hey, what's up, dp? It's a pleasure to finally be able to talk to you. First time, long time. 6, 5 Oiri 205, 10 and a half hand size. DP. If you guys make it through Des Moines, I got a recommendation for the best dive bar in the state. It's called Carl's Place. It's a lovely, lovely spot. And if I happen to be down there and my dogs with me, he'll sit. He'll sit in the bar stool right next to you. All he ever asked for is just some pets and some ice cubes.
Dan Patrick
All right, well, take that under advisement, Terzo. Thank you. We're. We'll. We'll let you know. We're in the planning stages of going to Iowa. Five cities, five days. And we're just, you know, working behind the scenes, trying to figure all this out. But it would be in the spring or summer. Just letting everybody know, but we are trying to do this. Very sincere about doing this. All right, fill in the blank. Todd, do you want to do this?
Paulie
Yeah, let's do it.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Give me. Give me a couple examples of fill in the blank.
Paulie
After all he or she has already accomplished this season, what blank does the. Does the rest of the way just be gravy? Basically, after all their accomplishments, could be a coach, player, what have you. What have they already done where it doesn't even matter. It's just gravy. Whatever they add to their psych.
Dan Patrick
Caitlin Clark. Whatever she does after this is gravy.
Paulie
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Is that what you're.
Todd Fritz
Yeah.
Paulie
Or specifically. Yeah, specifically this season, who has accomplished so much, where no matter what they do, they don't really need to. They're just kind of adding on. It's just gravy.
Dan Patrick
Do we need to tighten this up a little bit? It seems a little clunky after all.
Paulie
This, she has already accomplished this season. What blank does the rest of the way is just gravy.
Miles Gray
I'm not saying that I blame him for this. Happening. But the fact that Todd didn't get halfway through the first question without already having to explain it is a bad sign.
Dan Patrick
That is true.
Miles Gray
I'm not saying that that's his fault either. I kind of understand why he might be like, I need to over explain this a little.
Dan Patrick
But that's why we need to tighten it up. That's not a great sign. Yes, Paulie.
Marvin Prince
I'll throw up for just gravy. Kurt Signetti, the IU football coach, whether they do anything in the playoffs, it's all gravy. They've. He's made that program moderately relevant.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yep. Had a good year. Marvin, you got something you'd like to recommend?
Todd Fritz
Shohei Ohtani. Going forward after the season, he's had gravy.
Dan Patrick
So from now on, it doesn't matter.
Todd Fritz
Not to me.
Dan Patrick
He won a title. He's got three MVPs. Unanimous. Gonna go back to pitching. Everything's gravy. All right. Seaton, do you have blank gravy?
Miles Gray
Yeah. It's tough because almost everybody that I think of saying, like, even Caitlin Clark, it's kind of all gravy, but not really. Not really. Like, she's. She's already created like one bit of a legacy, and then she's still trying to tack onto that, Right?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. But I think what she did for women's basketball, that's going to be her legacy. Yeah.
Miles Gray
Forever.
Dan Patrick
Any.
Miles Gray
No matter how many rings she gets after this.
Dan Patrick
Yes. I. I mean, she might not be as decorated as Brana Stewart or Taurasi or. I mean, go down the list there. But what she did for women's basketball is similar to Steph Curry. Now, Steph Curry's won four titles, but I would say it's gravy. How about this? LeBron. Perfect LeBron. Doesn't matter what he does, it's gravy. Or is it too late in his career to say whatever he does. I mean, I don't know. Other than win another title. I don't know if there's anything else. Well, MVP at this age would be. But they just lost to the Phoenix Suns. They got. Got roughed up there with the Phoenix. All right, what's another one, Todd?
Paulie
My answer, by the way, was Saquon Barkley. The rebirth of Saquon.
Dan Patrick
My bad. I should have started with you, but you kind of stumbled over.
Paulie
I did. I had a very confusing first one. Okay. I gotta tell you, I'd really like to knock the stuffing out of blank.
Dan Patrick
Okay. I don't know if we needed the. I gotta tell Ya.
Paulie
I thought he was gonna spice it.
Dan Patrick
Up a little bit.
Paulie
I could have just said, I'd really like to knock the stuffing out of blood.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Stuffing being a Thanksgiving word.
Dan Patrick
Who would you like to knock the stuffing out of?
Paulie
I put down Jake Paul. He never did anything to me personally. But if the fight was fixed, like a lot of people said, and there was buffering issues, and it was just. I don't know. This guy is famous for being famous, and just. He bugs.
Dan Patrick
I'm with you there. I'm with you. But I like how he's calling out all of his haters by, you know, saying, how dare you question boxing? And, yes, this needs to be questioned. It. It does look like Mike Tyson was holding back a little bit there. Absolutely. Seaton, who would you like to knock the stuffing out of?
Miles Gray
Gosh. How much time do we have?
Dan Patrick
Give me your top three.
Miles Gray
How much time do we have? The first pr. Actually, I don't really want to knock the stuffing out of a lot of people. I do want to knock the stuffing out of my son's old soccer coach, but that's besides the.
Dan Patrick
Wow.
Paulie
All right, let's get it out there.
Miles Gray
I hate that guy. I really do. I don't hate a lot of people in this world, but there's one person.
Dan Patrick
That I really think we could arrange that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Miles Gray
I hate that guy.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Miles Gray
Well, there's people that really bug me.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Miles Gray
Sometimes I will kind of want to knock the stuffing out of Jerry Jones, but he's an old fella, so I'm not gonna do that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Anybody else?
Miles Gray
Pretty irritating.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Knocking the stuffing out of somebody. Yeah.
Miles Gray
I don't really want to knock the stuffing out of many people, you know.
Dan Patrick
Marvin, what about you?
Todd Fritz
Yeah, I'm with C. And I don't really want to not. But for the purpose of this segment.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Todd Fritz
Drake, stop being so soft, dude.
Dan Patrick
Super soft. Oh, my goodness.
Miles Gray
That's a good one.
Todd Fritz
They're suing Universal and Spotify for, you know, quote unquote, artificially, you know, enhancing the numbers for Kendrick's song. Not like us. Come on.
Dan Patrick
That is stupid.
Todd Fritz
This is rap.
Dan Patrick
Rap.
Paulie
That's a great one.
Dan Patrick
I don't know. I think it's rap on one side. I don't. I mean, is this really a rap war? Feels like it's Kendrick. I don't know.
Todd Fritz
It was until he dropped a napalm bomb.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, it is.
Miles Gray
So I. I can say, though, I think, being fair, if I was on Drake's side of things, and the things Kendrick said were not true. I would be upset about that.
Todd Fritz
But the issue is.
Dan Patrick
But he's not suing for that. He's not suing. Can he sue for defamation of character?
Miles Gray
Well, he is. He's suing for defamation, and he's suing. He has two lawsuits. Yeah, he's suing for defamation, and he's suing for. Why did you guys make this song so popular?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. And. And now he's gonna make it even more popular when people go, man, what is it?
Miles Gray
Did, like, the numbers for that song jumped up, like, 1500% yesterday.
Dan Patrick
Oh, who do you want to knock the stuffing out of?
Marvin Prince
You know, I altered this. As we went. Seaton went a little real, so I'll keep it a little real because, like. Like Seaton, anyone I'm bothered by in sports is like an old guy who owns a team in Chicago. Pick them.
Miles Gray
Yeah, I'm not going to like.
Marvin Prince
Yeah, There's a couple, though, in Chicago. I'm going to go with that Alex Jones guy. I think if I run into him, I'm going to drop him. I've been. I kind of made that promise to myself years ago, and I know it's a rando, but keeping it real.
Seaton
I don't know.
Dan Patrick
He looks like he could have. He could be like a wrestler. He's kind of built like. He's puffy. Yeah. A wrestler. I would say a couple of former bosses that I've had, but to knock stuffing out of. But, you know, I'm just not in that mood anymore, you know, Very Zen now. Just loving everybody. Everything's great. Very happy, very grateful. Todd, Very.
Paulie
For you, it is a season to be jolly is what they say.
Dan Patrick
So how about blank has really carved quite a name for him.
Paulie
I see what you did. Carved like carving a turkey.
Dan Patrick
Paul, who has carved out a name for himself.
Marvin Prince
I'm going to give this one to Sam Darnold. Off the map, off the radar. He's back to being relevant, and by default, he'll probably be a nice free agent pickup for someone this year. Sam Darnold's back. Yeah, back is all right.
Paulie
Todd biased, but I'm going with number 10 in the orange and blue, Bo Nicks.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Seaton, who's really carved quite a name for himself.
Miles Gray
Dan Campbell. All right, he's proven it. It wasn't just, like a flukey year and, like, ah, we're just kind of whatever. They're great this year. They're. He's absolutely carved something out.
Dan Patrick
Marvin. I'm gonna go.
Todd Fritz
Bryce Underwood. You're 18 years old. You get 10, $12 million just from switching from one school to the next. He's carved out a name for himself for sure.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, he's gonna go to Michigan. Apparently, there are a lot of people involved in this. Dave Portnoy, Tom Brady, Larry Ellison, who is maybe the. What, Third richest, second richest man in the world. His fifth wife went to Michigan.
Marvin Prince
That's right. Maybe he's not the fifth, third richest guy in the world.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Yeah, that's true.
American Express Voiceover
I know.
Paulie
I know.
Marvin Prince
The other four richest women.
Dan Patrick
His. His fifth wife went to Michigan. So I guess they ponied up for Bryce Underwood to stay in town because he grew up or played football 20 miles from the big house. Yes, Paul.
Marvin Prince
Yeah, that's a real sneaky story. Larry Ellison, when it was announced the other day that he was involved, people like, he didn't go to Michigan in any way. He went to Illinois for a bit and University of Chicago for a bit. But as they dug into it, his wife went to Michigan.
Dan Patrick
Okay. If Blank showed up as a surprise guest at my Thanksgiving dinner, I'd probably faint. Now, these are Todd's questions. So, Todd, if Blank shows up at Thanksgiving, you would probably faint.
Paulie
I initially put John Elway, but I crossed it out after watching that Movado commercial again. So Jessica Alba would probably make me pass out.
Dan Patrick
All right, Jessica Alba shows up. She would pass out as well.
Paulie
Yes, she would. Especially as I came approaching her.
Dan Patrick
Oh, no, Seaton. If Blank showed up, you'd probably.
Miles Gray
Jessica Alba is a good one. That would be quite shocking, I'm gonna say. Dan. Patrick. Oh, wait, no, that's already happened.
Dan Patrick
Your wife fainted, not you. She was doing.
Miles Gray
I was like, babe, I think he's really coming.
Dan Patrick
What? My family. I had to work for NBC, and my. My family went to Ohio to see my family, and I didn't have any place to go. And then Seton goes, you can come over. And I'm like, okay. And then I think, you know, I get there is why, you know, Aaron is so pregnant. And I. And I realized that, you know what? He was so generous to invite me over. I get over, I'm pounding Budweisers, I'm watching the football game. They're out in the kitchen. Like, I can hear him talking. And I guess I go, you know what? I probably should have just gone to a bar.
Marvin Prince
I probably should have kind of like you did.
Dan Patrick
I. Well, I treated it like it was a bar. Yeah.
Miles Gray
And I'll take another one of these.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Hey.
Miles Gray
Okay, hold on.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yelling, deceit. And Aaron Can I get another? Yeah, another, please.
Miles Gray
Yeah, you brought some coffee and you brought. What else did you bring? You brought something else too. It's like. Oh, it's very thoughtful.
Dan Patrick
I brought some noise is what I brought. Bringing the. I brought my bag. Yeah, I brought my bag. How about you, Marvin? If Plank showed up as a surprise guest at your Thanksgiving dinner, you'd probably faint.
Todd Fritz
Ken Griffey Jr.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Todd Fritz
Top five athlete of all time for me.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Todd Fritz
I'd be on the floor.
Dan Patrick
All right, Paulie, what about you?
Marvin Prince
Based off that last story you told, I'm going to go audible here. I was going to go with Larry Bird. No pun intended. Oh, I think I would freak out if Larry Bird walked into my house. I don't think I would be able to keep cool. Big Larry Bird fan. I would say I'm gonna go audible here. If one of my brother in law showed up at my house for Thanksgiving dinner and brought something, I would probably faint. You guys have heard about this for years.
Dan Patrick
I have.
Marvin Prince
I don't gripe much around here. There's my one.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I would say if Michael Jordan showed up, I'd be like, oh, all right. What's up, mj? Evie.
Marvin Prince
Talking smack to the bird, Talking smack to the cook.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Talking smacked my wife, my kids. Yes, Todd, I think Paul said at.
Paulie
Least one of his brother in law said, you don't need me to bring anything.
Dan Patrick
Right?
Paulie
I know the way of offerings.
Dan Patrick
I know. Yes, yes.
Marvin Prince
You guys are all set, right? Yeah, I got that email.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, let's take a break. We got more. We got more of those Thanksgiving themed poll questions today. But when we come back, we'll do our play of the day. Your phone calls as well. College football coming up next hour. And then Ryan Fitzpatrick will talk NFL as well. And then in the final hour, my former tag team partner at SportsCenter, Kenny Maine on his documentary Wiffle Ball. After this, be sure to catch the.

And you have a bonus one, so let's get that one out of the way too.
Paulie
This bonus fill in the blank is. Blank is like cranberry sauce. I don't need it, but it's fine this time of.
Dan Patrick
Okay, so this is. This could be a person or a thing.
Paulie
Anything.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Preferably sports related.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paulie
Sports show.
Dan Patrick
All right. Blank is like cranberry sauce. Don't need it, but it's fine this time of the year. Todd, let me start with you.
Paulie
I will preface it by saying I really like these people personally, but the jobs are questionable. I'm going with rules analysts.
Dan Patrick
Rules analysts are like cranberry sauce. So like Mike Pereira.
Paulie
I'm gonna explain why. Often stating the obvious or reconfirming what we already saw in HD on a giant screen. If you could see his toe, the second foot hit the white. So that'll probably be overruled and be an incomplete pass. Thank you, Joe.
Dan Patrick
All right, Seaton. Blank is like cranberry sauce. Don't need it, but it's fine this time of the year.
Miles Gray
What is this segment?
Dan Patrick
No kidding.
Miles Gray
I don't really need it, but it's fine this time of year.
Marvin Prince
It's fine.
Paulie
It's actually a funny good answer. It's very clever.
Dan Patrick
Answer.
Paulie
I'll give him a bloop.
Dan Patrick
All right. You're going to give him a bloop?
Paulie
Yeah. And those bloops are going away very soon, according to reports. So get the bloops in while you can.
Dan Patrick
Wait, who said the bloops are going away?
Paulie
No, around the horns. Goes by like that. That.
Dan Patrick
Oh, no, no.
Paulie
We're gonna continue blooping.
Dan Patrick
No, around the horns. Bloops will live with us.
Paulie
They have to.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Miles Gray
What are Todd's Thanksgiving names? I don't need them, but this time of year, they're fine.
Paulie
Well, we got it. Well, we got it for one.
Dan Patrick
Marvin, how about you?
Todd Fritz
College basketball.
Dan Patrick
College basketballs, like cranberry sauce. Don't need it. But this time of the year, you're okay with it?
Paulie
Absolutely.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Paulie.
Marvin Prince
I'm going to go with the NBA. It's hard to watch November or December. Basketball. There's just too much football on. And now there's more this year with college football. So the NBA. I'll sample January. You get back in January.
Dan Patrick
February. Okay. I don't really have one. I'm trying to think what is. What is temporarily good or a necessity? Holiday music is like cranberry sauce. I don't need it, but I'm fine. This time of the year I come. I'm begrudgingly accepting a little bit more holiday music. Yes.
Miles Gray
I'm finding that the older I get, the more I love it.
Paulie
Yes, it's true. I love it. Brings back memories. And I'm Jewish, But I still love the Christmas songs a lot.
Miles Gray
I've always been a hardcore, like, no Christmas till after Thanksgiving. Can't do it. Don't want to see it, don't want to hear it. Yeah, it already goes long enough kind of thing. This year I was like, what a cold breeze.
Dan Patrick
Let's fire it up. I am softening up a little bit, I have to admit. And I don't know, like, I'm not ready to embrace Mariah Carey, you know, the queen of Christmas. But.
Todd Fritz
Wait, what?
Dan Patrick
I'm just. I can't.
Todd Fritz
What's your favorite Christmas song? All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey.
Dan Patrick
Especially when she sexes it up there for the kids. My favorite Christmas.
Miles Gray
Nothing says happy holidays like massive cleavage. Thank you, Mariah.
Dan Patrick
Ho, ho, ho. Are we still on the air? Okay, so that's it. What? Todd.
Paulie
I like the one where he's like, it's really cold outside. And she's like, I really can't stay. And he's like, I really think you should Stay the night with me. I really gotta go. Come on and stay.
Dan Patrick
Who sings that?
Paulie
I have no idea, but it's pretty hot.
Miles Gray
It's funny that that's like the song, the one Christmas song that's semi canceled.
Todd Fritz
Yes, yes, yes, it is.
Miles Gray
That's the Todd's most favorite song.
Marvin Prince
Todd's not aware for the past 10 media that song has been lit up.
Miles Gray
The woman literally is talking about, like, what's in this drink? I'm feeling weird.
Paulie
Yeah, that part I don't remember.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. If there she doesn't either be spiking.
Paulie
A drink, then I got to take that off the board. That's true, but since we're canceling statues, books and everything, I guess we might as well cancel the song too.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Todd.
Marvin Prince
Unbelievable.
Paulie
I didn't realize that she was being held against her will with, like, tied up or something. That's that inappropriate?
Miles Gray
Honey, don't scream. No one's coming to help you right now.
Paulie
What's with the tape?
Dan Patrick
Oh, God. Trust me, you'll like it. Maybe it's cold.
Paulie
I need a safe word.
Dan Patrick
Brent in Connecticut. Hi, Brent. What's on your mind? I gotta go on after that. Yeah.
Seaton
I've been listening to Stephen Wilson Jr's YouTube concert in the past few mornings.
Dan Patrick
I'm driving to Illinois as a member.
Seaton
Of the Dead to Me Now Dead dad club. His songs hit me right in the.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yes. Stephen Wilson Jr. And he has a song, I am a Song. And it's about him and his dad. And we hope to have him on soon, by the way. Or I'm maybe going to try to see him in New York City, but I don't know. Really hit me. Impactful. And he hasn't been doing this very long, but if you Google him and you get a chance to listen to I'm a song and you lost your father, it'll hit you. It'll hit you hard. Very talented. Very talented singer, songwriter. All righty, Seaton, would you update the poll results before we spill into hour two on this program?
Miles Gray
Spill in as a way to say that. That's funny. Yeah. We got a couple of poll questions up there right now. Which game will get the highest TV ratings? Bears. Lions. Gian. Cowboys. Dolphins. Packers. Right now, Bears, Lions and Dolphins. Packers are dead even.
Dan Patrick
Oh, okay.
Miles Gray
Last place is Giants.
Dan Patrick
Cowboys. Oh, I think that'll be the winner, right? I'm not saying it's the best game. I mean, it might be ugly. Good. Hour two on the way, we'll talk college football, the rankings. Also, Ryan Fitzpatrick from Amazon prime will stop by as well. And then, final hour, Kenny Maine on his documentary Wiffle Ball.
Peter Schrager

Podcast Summary: The Dan Patrick Show – Hour 1: Thanksgiving and Football
Release Date: November 27, 2024
Host: Dan Patrick
Network: iHeartPodcasts and Dan Patrick Podcast Network
Duration: 50+ minutes
In the Hour 1 episode of The Dan Patrick Show titled “Thanksgiving and Football,” Dan Patrick delves into the intertwining themes of Thanksgiving traditions and the fervent world of football. The episode seamlessly blends personal anecdotes, in-depth sports analysis, and engaging audience interactions, offering listeners a comprehensive overview of the current sports landscape as the holiday season approaches.
Dan Patrick opens the discussion with a humorous recount of his own Thanksgiving experience. He shares a relatable moment about his family's unexpected shift in the Thanksgiving dinner date:
Dan Patrick [02:57]: “So we had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, even though we're having it on Thursday now. It tasted great.”
This anecdote sets the tone for a lighthearted conversation about family traditions and the occasional chaos that comes with them. The segment emphasizes the importance of gratitude and togetherness, even amidst the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
Transitioning to sports, Dan provides an overview of the latest college football rankings, highlighting the top four seeds:
Dan Patrick [04:53]: “The rankings came out, big games coming up the next couple of days, next five days, the rankings, Oregon, Texas, Miami, Boise State. They’re your top four seeds.”
He anticipates heightened emotions as conference championship games approach, predicting potential controversies if underperforming teams remain in the playoffs:
Dan Patrick [05:04]: “Somebody's going to have three losses here. And the games this weekend, a lot of college football this weekend. And you could lose your way out of it.”
The conversation shifts to the NFL, specifically the anticipated Black Friday game between the Raiders and the Chiefs. Dan references last year's matchup, which took place around Christmas, adding a nostalgic touch:
Dan Patrick [07:20]: “Ryan Fitzpatrick, Amazon Prime NFL analyst, they have the Black Friday game. That's the Raiders against the Chiefs.”
He underscores the excitement surrounding this high-stakes game, expecting intense competition reminiscent of previous encounters.
Dan also touches on recent developments in baseball, notably the Dodgers' acquisition of pitcher Blake Snell:
Dan Patrick [08:15]: “The Dodgers scoop up Blake Snell. And Kansas dropped Duke last night. Number one team in the country, Kansas over Duke and interesting game, Cooper flag.”
He comments on Snell's impressive career, acknowledging his Cy Young Awards while noting the evolving nature of pitching roles in modern baseball.
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to audience interaction through live polls and listener call-ins. One of the primary poll questions revolves around which Thanksgiving football game will garner the highest TV ratings among the Bears, Lions, Giants, Cowboys, Dolphins, and Packers.
Dan Patrick [09:51]: “Packers win. Packers win. Okay, Seaton, what's poll question today at least for the first hour of this program?”
Listeners weigh in, with Dan predicting a close and possibly chaotic matchup, particularly highlighting the Cowboys and Giants as potential frontrunners for the highest ratings.
The show introduces a Fill in the Blank segment with a Thanksgiving twist, encouraging listeners to complete festive and sports-related phrases. Examples include:
Paulie [13:58]: “I don’t think I’ve ever verbalized my feelings like this before, but I’m really grateful for ______.”
Participants creatively fill in the blanks with Thanksgiving-themed sports topics, adding humor and relatability to the conversation.
Another engaging segment involves the metaphor of "gravy," representing additional achievements or efforts beyond the norm. Dan and his co-hosts discuss various athletes and teams, debating who has already secured their success and what extra contributions they might add:
Marvin Prince [28:36]: “Kurt Signetti, the IU football coach, whether they do anything in the playoffs, it’s all gravy.”
This discussion highlights the ongoing achievements in sports and the expectations placed on top performers.
Throughout the episode, Dan Patrick weaves in references to pop culture and shares amusing listener anecdotes. For instance, a Listener named Matt recounts a humorous interaction with a football player:
Matt [24:18]: “So his bag helped me get a bigger bag. Not sure if that’s how I should word it, but thank you.”
