We'll recap that. The baseball as well have that for you. Dave Sims, the Yankee play by Playboys will join us. And maybe Fritzi and Dave have a conversation because Fritzi had a problem with Dave's lack of enthusiasm with a grand slam by Vlad Guerrero against the Yankees. Less enthusiasm, more. A grand slam's a grand slam whether it's for your team or not. It's a playoff game. It's a big play in the game. Once again, don't say it to me, say it today. You look forward to putting me on the spot with him. Christopher Mad Dog Russo will stop by as well. The gang's here. Fritzi Seaton, Marv Poly, yours truly. He'll take your phone calls recapping the game last night. The Chiefs used to be the NFL's gold standard, yet stability, yet brilliance. You had Patrick Mahomes, you had Andy Reid. You had a defense that was among the league's best. But last night they, they got clipped 31, 28. They're now 2 and 3. So for the first time in years like this feels like 2 and 3. Oh, not 2 and 3. They're the Chiefs. They'll be able to come back. Now do I think getting a couple of wide receivers back will certainly help. You know you don't have reliable receivers there. But still, Jacksonville did what you want a team, a playoff team or playoff worthy team do. And that is you're down. You rely on your quarterback and you pull out the Win. So that's back to back wins. You've beaten the Niners and the Chiefs, you're four and one. Trevor Lawrence looks steady, defense opportunistic. Liam Cohen, the new head coach, he looks battle tested. As for the Chiefs, I guess slipping a little bit and maybe the Jags are rising a little bit, but either way, that gap between Kansas City and the rest of the afc, not as wide as it used to be. And there were a couple of moments in there where Mahomes did what you thought Mahomes would do. I thought they had a terrible kickoff by Harrison Butler that put Jacksonville at the 40 yard line. And then Trevor Lawrence made a couple of big plays and Jacksonville is now 4 and 1, tied with Buffalo and tied with the Colts with the best record in the NFL. All right, Satan, what's poll question? We're going to go with, by the way, the Jags 4 and 1 start. The best start through five games since 2007 when they started 41 stat of the day brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. Who was on the 07 team? It's like Mark Brunel on there. Yeah, Paulie, I know Fred Taylor was on there. He was their star. I just looked up David Garard. Oh, Pro Bowler David Garage. Yeah, he kind of came out of nowhere. Had a breakout year. Yeah. David Gerard. Wow. I think that was his only Pro bowl, but he played well. He was tough. Seaton pole. Question. Well, we're just putting up the weekly power and dower rankings. Okay. Very exciting. Your options for the power rankings are Detroit, Philly, Buffalo, Tampa, Green Bay, Denver, Indy, and making, I think their first appearance would be the Jacksonville Jaguars off of a big win. Congratulations. You guys are in the top eight. Wow. Those are the power rankings. Who's the best team in the NFL? Is that what you're asking? We are. We're asking right now who the most powerful team in the NFL are. Okay. Or is. And. And then we're gonna have the dower rankings as well. Yes, your dower rankings. You can also vote on those. Right there we have, let's see, the Jets, Titans, Dolphins, Giants, Raiders, Saints, Bengals and Carolina Panthers. Wait, should the Bengals be there? With two wins, they've been outscored by 71 points this year. The Bengals. Very dowerful. Very dower. Very dowerful. Dang. Dang. All right. The best team in pro football right now is who, Marvin? The Philadelphia Eagles. All right, Paul. The Lions, no doubt. Todd still going to lean towards the Eagles. All right, Seaton. I'm gonna say Detois. I'm gonna say Detroit as well, because they had a quality loss. Well, they lost to Green Bay. At Green Bay. But they look formidable offensively. I think that was our big question. Oh, they lost their offensive coordinator and you get Aiden Hutchinson back. And that team is. That team seems to be great on both sides of the ball. The Eagles. I still have questions. There's something going on there I don't want to rely on. Jalen hurts to beat the opposition through the air. I think when there's a combo platter, that's when the Eagles are great, the defense consistent, then they can be the best team in football. But, you know, Saquon Barkley not running the ball and you're going to throw it 38 times. Okay. That's not the formula. And we certainly saw that they've allowed teams to stay around. Now, the Chiefs did that. They've made a, you know, a tradition out of close games. Everybody's within one score, but they pull those games out. You can't continue to do that. Now they have. They've had sustained greatness, but sometimes it catches up with you. And you had the stumble, Ruski, with Trevor Lawrence last night, and this is how it sounded when he scored the game winner, Trevor under center. He slipped and he fell down. Trevor fell down on the play. Now he's gonna try and run in his head, and he has no touchdown. Trevor went it in. He ran it in. Touchdown. He got up. He felt. It's against Kansas City. Trevor Lawrence ran it in. I'd like to know how that voice sounds today. That's courtesy of the JAGS radio Network. Trevor Lawrence, his foot got stepped on by his center. He falls down. Chris Jones, the great defensive lineman for the Chiefs, can't find him. It's like I somehow lost a 6, 5 guy. And then Lawrence stumbles, gets back up, and then I think the defense is like, well, wait a minute, is the play dead? Like, what's going on here? And he dives in for the game winner. Yeah, Seaton, I was going to say Todd will be happy to know that was actually the Chiefs call of that touchdown. Oh, there you go, showing some enthusiasm. It's a big moment in the game. It's a big moment in the game. The stumble, Ruski. Social media is calling it with Trevor Lawrence. Hey, but that's what you want out of these guys. I think we talked about Trevor Lawrence. Is he ever going to live up to the hype in parentheses bust? He's Had a couple of good years, you know, but you're still waiting for him, you know, he should be knocking on the door. Being in top five quarterback. He was can't miss going to college. He was can't miss going into the NFL. Now, granted, I gotta grade him on a curve here because he went through coaches Urban Meyer situation. I still don't think they've surrounded him with great weapons there. Yes. Paulie. Yeah. His second year in the league, 2022 post Urban Meyer mess. He was awesome. 25 touchdowns, eight picks. He was in the MVP race the past three years, though. He's like a 63%, 62% passer. Quite a few interceptions. Even this year he's 4 and 1, but he's a 60% passer, six touchdowns, five picks. It's not pretty ever. It's not easy and smooth. Ever. No. By the way, the NFL MVP odds, I've been saying Baker Mayfield should be the leader. He's not. According to DraftKings. Josh Allen sizable over Patrick Mahomes. This is. As of today, I don't. I mean, Mahomes is your second favorite. Baker Mayfield has been great and they're a very good team. Justin Herbert is ahead of Baker Mayfield. Matthew Stafford is behind Mayfield. Then love golf hurts Jaden Daniels. But I'm surprised at the Patrick Mahomes placement there. Number two overall. Baker's got 10 touchdowns, one interception. They have played really well. They could have won the Eagles game. You go to Seattle in a shootout and you win. I'm surprised at that. All right. Baseball yesterday and last night, defense saved the Dodgers beating the Phillies 4 3. They're up 20 now, going back to Los Angeles. The brewers roll the Cubs 7 3. You got Mariners at the Tigers today, Blue Jays at the Yankees as well. All right, 8, 7, 7, 3. DP show email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP show so we have power rankings and we have dower rankings as well. And let me see if I have anything else here. The odds, World Series odds. Just got those. The Dodgers are your big favorites. Then it's the Brewers. Then the Blue Jays, Mariners, Tigers, Yankees, Phillies. And the Cubs trailing. They pulling up the rear at plus 3,500. The Dodgers are plus 155. All right, any other poll questions that we're thinking about? By the way, sign up for the newsletter go to danpatrick.com every single day, we recap everything that happened and we also give you a heads up what's going to happen on future shows. And we're still trying to lock in the number of people who can join us in South Bend. We'll be there next Thursday and Friday for the Notre Dame USC game, and we are told we can have an audience there. We'll be outside. So I don't know what the elements are going to be like in South Bend, but I would say if you do show up, dress accordingly because you'll be outside. Any other poll questions there? Seaton? Many other poll questions, Dan. Okay, Many other poll questions. Let's see. Paulie sent this one over. Trevor Lawrence. Is a good quarterback going to be great or a disappointment? I would say he's a good quarterback. I don't know if he's going to be great if we remove a good quarterback because that's kind of the middle of the road answer, right? Yeah, I think he's going to be good. Okay, what if he's either going to be great or disappointing? Right now, I would say disappointing. He's shown glimpses. I think that's the problem sometimes when you see guys where you go, why did he like this all the time? Well, that's the difference between. Difference between good and great, and it's the consistency. It's week in and week out being threatening, being good, coming up with great moments, and we just haven't seen that from him. Yeah. So I would say I would lean towards a disappointment, but only because the expectation level was through the roof for him and should have been. But, you know, maybe it took a while to get through the Urban Meyer phase. Yeah, Paulie, it's almost apples and oranges. He came in like Andrew Luck in college where there's just no doubt and it's been a nice career. But it's apples and oranges to like Zion Williamson. Zion Williamson's career when he's healthy is nice. He's good. He's a good player. He's not spectacular. What else? Seen the. Well, and you know, I mean, he, Trevor Lawrence came into college a sure thing. He didn't even go into the NFL with sure thing. He was in college. Everybody was waiting like, man, it's too bad he's got to play here because he could just jump right to the next level. Man, talk about a guy who needed a season like this, though. Well, just a game. Holy smoking. Start with a game that takes a little bit of the. The heat off of him. But, you know, you're 4 and 1 but you're in a division. Where are the Colts for real? Are the Texans going to come back after what they did against Baltimore. So maybe, maybe you have a little bit more of a competitive division. Usually that's, you know, the NFC south and the AFC south are just not good. Here's Trevor Lawrence on his thoughts during his go ahead touchdown. On the stumble, Ruski, just panic, honestly, because I was trying to get up to get the ball out of my hands, the clock. I mean, we didn't have any timeouts, so just try. I was really going to just stand up and like launch it out of the back of the end zone. But then I had a little bit of a lane, so I took it and, you know, scored from there. It was interesting to see him. He's. I think he's shocked that he fell down. Nobody tackled me. I'm going to get back up now. What do I do? And all of a sudden to the left. He saw there was an opening there. And I think he was just kind of going, I think I can get to. I'm going to score a touchdown. Yes. Todd, he actually stumbled twice on that play. One once is enough. But to be able to gather himself after two trips and not give up on the play was pretty impressive. All right, when we come back, by the way, preseason basketball last night. Ow. Cooper Flag was in action last night. Victor Wembanyama in action last night. Cooper Flagg looked awesome. Awesome. Wemby is going to be. He. He's. He's going to take over the NBA. Is that he's. Are you calling that right now? I'm calling Victor Webanyama. It's going to be a player. I think he's going to be the mvp. How's that? That's. I don't know how good the team's going to be. I think that he is. I'm just watching somebody that tall. I think he grew in the off season. He might be 7 6, but he's handling the ball. He's Great passes. He's shooting threes again. I mean, he is a better skilled version of the Joker as far as handle. I mean, Joker still is the best player in the game, but Wemby is. He's. He's here. He is him. Yes. Paul, if you have room, I'd love to get on the Wemby bus because he looks like he got the 20 pounds that Zion lost. He looks thicker. It's a good work for everybody. And Cooper Flagg looked great. He was the point guard for a while last night. Some. A block shot, some great passes. Hit a couple of threes as well. Yes, I know it's only preseason. But I was, I was kind of having a good time with that. All right, we'll take a break, talk a little bit about the baseball from yesterday last night, baseball coming up later on tonight and your phone calls. We'll get to those as well. I worked my ass off from it even when I was a stripper. I'mma be the best pole dancer in here. When was the moment you felt I did it? I still to this day don't feel comfortable. Hey sis, what if I could promise you you never had to listen to a condescending finance bro tell you how to manage your money again? Wel Ambition. This is the hard part. When you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem. A year from now when you do feel like you are bleeding from these high interest rates, I would start shopping for a debt consolidation loan starting with Your local credit union shopping around online looking for some online lenders because they tend to have fewer fees and be more affordable. Listen, I am not here to judge. It is so expensive in these streets. I 100% can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt and it weighs on you. It's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. It's nice and dark in the sand. Even if it's scary, it's not going to go away just because you're avoiding it. And in fact, it may get even worse. For more judgment free money advice, listen to Brown ambition on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah, went out on a limb. I said Victor Wembanyama is gonna be great. Gutsy. Gonna be great this year. Anybody with me? Victor Wimbanyama is going to be great. Yes. Todd. So we're saying great. I think you said MVP this season. So we're already backing. I did. Mvp, Todd. How's that? Just making sure we got you on record there. Yes. Paul. Well, last year before he got shut down, his stats were up to 24 points per game, four blocks, 11 rebounds, four assists. At age 21, he's the best two way player in the game. That should have been. You know, they don't give him defensive player of the year. They should have because he can guard you while being in the paint. You can be on the perimeter. That's impactful. But yeah, watching it was fun. It was fun. I got caught up in Cooper flag. He played well. Point guard. Cooper flag, he plays bigger than six, eight. I think he, he's working on his jumper. I wondered if he could get that jumper off because it seemed a little slow. But it looked a lot quicker last night. I know Kyrie Irving's been working with him, but I liked it. I like what I saw there. A lot of fun. And then when Benyama it just weird to see a 75 point guard out there or playing point. He's point center. But then you know, Joker's done this. But Wembanyama, he is going to be tough to deal with. Yes, Marvin, the most overused term in pro sports or in sports in general is generational talent. But not for Victor Wembanyama. This is who they're talking about. When you talk about a generational talent. He is Shaq meets Kevin Durant. Yeah, but this is where you look at everything that's happened with the evolution of the game where the big man can handle the Ball he's on, you know, he'll be on fast breaks, he'll shoot threes, but he can also block shots. Because you can't just be that singular. Hey, I'm just a guy who stays in and is a rim protector. They want you to be so much more. And you're playing European style basketball. Where your big man has to be able to pass, has to be able to shoot. You know, just good ball handling skills as well, no matter what your size is. Yeah, Paulie. And 25 years ago, maybe 30 years ago, he wouldn't be allowed to play outside. Like, remember that player, Keith Kloss? He was 7 3, he played for the Clippers. He had to play center because he wasn't allowed to play outside. And then 20 years ago, a guy could be over 611 and play the swing position. We've seen it before because Ralph Sampson had the potential to be able to be that kind of player. Sean Bradley at BYU, not so much in the NBA. But when I saw him, he was 75 and he was hitting pull up jumpers from 15, 18ft away. So this is, this is coming. Had been coming for quite some time. But it's kind of like we've changed what we want out of our big man. Because it used to be like, get down on the blocks, don't. You're not supposed to be on the fast break or you're shooting threes. Then all of a sudden it's like Dirk Nowitzki came to town. And then all of a sudden we went, oh, okay, seven footers can shoot. And actually encouraging you to shoot. Kevin Durant, 7ft tall, but I can't now. We had, you know, big men who could shoot. Bob Lanier was a great, you know, he was a big man, but he could shoot. Had great touch. We've had Dan Issel was a guy who played center, was a great shooter. There's a lot of those players, but they weren't handling the ball. They weren't on the point, they weren't leading fast breaks. And Wemby only needs like four strides to go coast to coast. Yeah, Paul and I know they play the position differently, But Yao Ming, 20 years ago, his best season, Yao Ming at 76 was 25 points, 11 rebounds, two and a half blocks. Those are nice numbers, but Wemby's already passed those. Yeah, but Yao Ming was on the block. Yep. Like, he wasn't leading any fast breaks, he wasn't shooting threes. But you know, they wanted him down on the blocks. They had Katina Mobley and Stevie Francis that were handling the point guard duties. But, yeah, Yao Ming was a skilled big man, but nowhere near what we've seen with Wembanyama. Alrighty, baseball last night, thank God for the Dodgers starting pitchers because their bullpen is not good. The Dodgers starting pitchers are 4. 0 in the postseason ERA 1.75. Now the opposition is batting.136 against starters. The Dodgers bullpen is 6.97 ERA and the opposition batting.326. 11 strikeouts, 9 walks in 10 innings of work. But they came through. Snell looked great again. And now the Dodgers go back home trying to close this out. I was wondering, how many pitches have been at least 100 miles an hour in the postseason? I know it's random, but it feels like, you know, Jacob Mizarowski, he was in there, he threw three scoreless innings. He threw 57 pitches. 31 of the 57 were at least 100 miles an hour. Now, there have already been 189 pitches of 100 mile an hour or more in the postseason, the most in any postseason since 2009. But it just feels like the next guy up is throwing 100 and the next guy. Shouldn't the knuckleball make a comeback? Like, can I go to the opposite end of the spectrum here? It's like when everybody started passing in the NFL and I go, somebody's going to start running again. And then we, you know, the pendulum is swung back that way. But you got to be able to teach somebody the knuckleball. And there's only a few that have mastered it. But I'm just wondering if, can you be a crafty pitcher? Crafty right hander? Yes, Todd. And it doesn't seem that long ago in the history of Major League Baseball when someone like Goose Gossage or Al Raboski, there were certain guys that come out there and maybe for a few pitches or an inning, they'd throw their absolute hardest. And that was like a big deal back then. Wow. This is just rare and unique. And now it's become so commonplace. Is it because of the surgeries and job and everything where people are afraid to throw their arm out? Well, baseball is encouraging this. All baseball has to say is, you know, we, we want to develop pitchers. These are throwers for the most part. And baseball says, oh, you blew out your arm. Go get surgery. We'll bring in another person. And it feels like the pitchers understand, hey, that's my role. This is. It's inevitable that you're going to have it feels like Tommy John surgery. And the fact that. And I brought this up a couple times, but it bears repeating that I work out with a physical therapist. And we were just talking and he works out with a lot of young baseball players. And he said twice in the last five years he's had parents come to him and say, what do you think about having Tommy John surgery? And the guy that I work out with says, wait, he doesn't need it. He goes like it's in an elective that you're going to go, I'm going to get it before I have to get it. And my guy goes, no, no. Like we're going to be proactive. Let's go in and get surgery. It'd be like, I'm going to go in and, you know, get knee surgery even though I don't need it. Just so when I do need it, you know, I've already had it. Yeah, Paul, a couple things. The only active knuckleballer is Matt Waldron. He pitches for the Padres and he doesn't even throw it that much. I mean, R.A. dickey was the last guy to throw it with success. And I was looking at some recruiting websites. It's all trickle down. If you want a college scholarship in baseball as a pitcher, you have to come in with velocity. So that means that the pool of high velocity pitchers goes right to college. And so there's no guys who are throwing junk balls are going to get a college scholarship these days. But I just wonder, you know, the history of baseball if you looked at different eras and you said to these pitchers, you have to throw hard the only way you know we want you. So Tom Glavin, he can't throw hard. Maddox threw hard for a little while, but, you know, Clemens threw hard, Schilling through hard. But These guys are 100 miles an hour. Like, Nolan Ryan would have been great in any era, even now, you know, throwing 100 miles an hour. But he did it for an entire game. It's not like you brought him in for 18 pitches and he's going to throw 100 miles an hour for 14 of those. It's just baseball's philosophy. Baseball doesn't care about batting averages. We'll talk more about this with Mad Dog Russo. He'll join us a little bit later on. All right, Chris in Syracuse. Good morning, Chris. What's on your mind today? Hey, thanks, Danny. I wanted to comment on last night's game and if I could comment on Lebron today. Yeah. Trevor Lawrence is starting to show a little toughness so maybe that can take him from disappointing to great. And yeah, great game last night. And I know we're just barely past the quarter pole in the season and Casey and Baltimore could end up having long playoff runs, but it's kind of nice. NFL set up for parody. They're fading off a little bit. Teams like Jackson and Indy are coming on. And unlike baseball this time of year, you need the Dodgers and the Yankees in the playoffs for get all your viewers. But in football, we'll watch no matter who's ever on. And yeah, as far as LeBron, a few people are saying at noon he's going to announce that he's going to retire immediately. There's no way, I mean, maybe probably announce that he's going to retire at the end of the season because he wants his victory tour in every city so we can pay homage to him, which he has coming. 23 years at that level is incredible. But for me, it makes me think about how Tim Duncan did it and you know, no, we go and he was just always classy and understated. Yeah. To me that's very impressive. Well, this feels like a partnership with Amazon with LeBron and it feels like that this is, this is business. You know, one day he obviously will retire. I don't know how he'll announce it, but it does feel like it would be a season long. I mean I, mine was a four year rollout. So I can't sit here and complain about LeBron if he's going to go. And I'm. This is my last season. But I don't think this has anything to do with retirement today. Yeah, Paul Lebron James 19 hours ago on all his social channels. Posted the decision of all decisions October 7th, 12pm Eastern. Hashtag the second decision. And it's him sitting there in a room with a basketball court with another gentleman. Like there's an interview about to happen. Throwback to the Jim Gray interview. And a lot of people we're going to play the LeBron James what is he announcing game later today. Okay. Is Jim Gray going to be involved in this? Doesn't appear so. Now if you're going to do it, you got to get Jim Gray involved in this. If you're going to really tease this, then have Jim Gray back and go to a, you know, a boys club, Boys and girls club somewhere in Los Angeles. Yes. Time. Yes. You have to have the boys and girls club. That has to be part of it. I think you need to recreate or the horror of the first one. Thank you Todd. Yeah, I don't think. I don't. I don't think this has any permanence to it. Yes. Yeah. Like, I think he's announcing, like a new headphone deal. I think. I think it's actually like. And I have just signed with State Farm. I'm the new Jake. Like, it's not going to be anything about his future or a team. It's some kind of business deal. Yeah, that. Then, like. And now I'm taking the LeBron James chain to Apple and then something like that. Yes. Marvin, this is kind of on the same level as when you see guys like Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. Oh, they took a photo. Are they doing a new movie? No, it's just a Super bowl commercial. That's all this is. Yes, Paulie, Like, Tom Brady announced, I'm coming out of retirement to join a football league in Saudi Arabia. That was last month. Yeah. Yeah. Yes, Todd. I'm still mobile in my old age and that's why there's T mobile. Join me next time. Yeah, that's the idea. That's generally. Yeah, yeah. You just get back up off the canvas. You have to. What are you gonna do? Lay there and cry? Get up. You take the punches. You get right back up before they count you out to 10. Get up. Yeah, I. This feels like it's just a business opportunity for him. I don't know if this is the platform or the presentation to announce that he's going to retire. Feels like you'd have your family there and, you know, make it a big deal that way. Maybe a couple of tears or something. Yes, Paul. It drives me crazy because, you know, about a month ago there were some creative marketing type dudes in a room going, let's pretend it's a second announcement for LeBron and he's going to drop a new DraftKings thing or whatever it is, and they think, oh, this is going to be so cute, people will buy into it and tune in. It usually has a backlash against whatever the product is. Yeah, I know. Yeah. Like the. The last thing that he would want or should want is another decision because that didn't go well. Taking my talents to T mobile. To T mobile. Yes. Okay. If he does that, I'd laugh. I would be a good call by courtesy. I would give him a courtesy laugh there. Does Kevin Hart need to be involved again? No, he likes that Kevin Hart with him at all. I know, but. No, we. We don't need. No, we're good. Jim in Michigan. Hi, Jim. What's on your mind? Today. Good morning. Thanks for taking my call. I've got a scenario for. Let's see. Regarding driving in Michigan or driving anywhere where you've got two or three or four semis in the right lane. You're passing. I'm passing slowly. They're limited to 65 miles an hour. Let's say I'm going 72, and I've got some clown coming up on the right, wants to sneak in ahead of me. And my scenario is I'm going to speed up a little bit to block him out. I don't know if that's ever happened to Fritz. You're not. But I'm kind of an aggressive driver. I take great pleasure in for people to think their time is more valuable than mine. So that's my driving in the left lane scenario. Seems like Jim has a driving problem there. The only time I. The only time I get involved with blocking someone I know, Seaton, that's a big pet peeve of his, he said, like last week. But someone that's cutting the line when you're trying to get off the highway, and someone's just using the pullover lane, and they're just crawling and they're going past everybody. You've been waiting a half hour for your chance to get off the exit, and this guy's going to get off in three minutes. I just remember that when I moved from Ohio, and I. My wife is from New York, and I remember how New Yorkers were driving. I was like. I couldn't believe it. Like, they would just, like, pass, you know, in the. The breakdown lane and then pull in right at the last second. And I say to my wife, I go, what? What are they doing? She goes, what? That's just how New Yorkers drive. I'm coming from Ohio. I'm like, no, no. Yeah. Seaton, Just to be clear, that is not my pet peeve. My pet peeve is not people, like, going down the shoulder and cutting everybody in line to get off of an exit. My pet peeve is when there's construction and the construction crew, the dot is, say, taking four lanes down to three. And, you know, they do the cones that sort of gradually take you all the way down there. When somebody about a half a mile before the cones decides to park in the left lane, that fourth lane that's going down to the third one so no one else can go all the way up to the cones. That's my pet peeve. That's the person that I hate more than anyone else in the road. Like, I'm not letting you go up any further. I'm the one. I decide. This is where traffic starts. Now it's like they put those cones there for a reason and it's for everybody. It's called the zipper merge. Everybody is supposed to go in, but there's always like a gigantic SUV who's like, I'm not letting anyone else in. This is where you have to stop. I hate that person. But then you also have, you know the cones are up there and you're going from four lanes to three lanes. But you get all of these cars that go all the way up to the cones and then go in like you're supposed to. Waiting and correct like you're supposed to. Else is waiting in line. Yes, it's called traffic. But everybody else had the opportunity to go up to those cones too, and they chose not to. That's what you're supposed to go up to the cones. That's what you're supposed to do. Yes, Todd, I'm sure there's a better phrase for it, but whatever happened to the just common courtesy of you go, I go. You go, I go. That's out the window. Especially in New York. I let you in. I'm not going to let seven cars. That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's exactly what I'm talking about is you go, I go. You go, I go. It's called the zipper merge. You're supposed to do it up at the cones. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Letting 10 cars in. I let you in. It's just like getting out of the parking lot of the stadium or an arena. I can't let all of you go. I'll be here till two in the morning. Yes, Paul. I went to be. I'm the ombudsman here. I went to AAA.com and they said studies back up that the zipper merge, while it appears to make traffic worse, actually makes it better and that your wait time is less if you let people in and keep it moving according to aaa. Let's. Let's take a break. We got more phone calls coming up. Dave Sims, Yankee announcer. Yankee. I'm taking my talents to aaa. Yankee homer is a grand slam home run. I guess the Yankees are gonna lose. Okay, once again, I want you to be. I will. This. You're gonna say this to Dave Sims. Okay. But it's not about e. But it's not about enthusiasm. That's not the word we should use. Or I'm gonna use with that. Once again, you complained about his call with the opposition hitting a grand slam. I would have loved if he would have said that's a grand slam and the Yankees are gonna lose. They're gonna have to win the next three or they're done. How about that, Yankee fans? That's how you would. That would be agitating. Wow. He just went the other way. Opposite field. Dave Sims will join us next hour, but I'm gonna have you. I'm gonna just say Todd has a problem with you, Dave. That's a little harsh. I don't have a problem with him. I worked with him in the 90s. I don't have a problem with him. I have a problem with like if there's a big call in a playoff game and it happens to be against the team, he's the one who had the call. But it's more in general. It's not a Dave Sims problem. It's a problem with any homer. Broadcaster should acknowledge a big play by the other. Backtrack, backtrack. It's not backtrack you back. I never said the word enthusiasm or he should be excited for the home run. Never said any of those things. Oh, wow. I'll say what I have to say in a polite, professional way. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. He never said he should be thrilled that that grand slam happen as a happy medium. And we will address. You said he should be suspended for being unprofessional. You said that. I said they should bring him back in 2026. I did say that. Let's take a break here. Our play of the day is up next. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. This is the hard part when you pay down those credit cards. If you haven't gotten to the bottom of why you were racking up credit or turning to credit cards, you may just recreate the same problem. It is so expensive in these streets I 100 can see how in just a few months you can have this much credit card debt. When it weighs on you, it's really easy to just like stick your head in the sand. Check this out. Dropping his mahomes, fires middle, falls intercepted. The ball is pinned off. Are you kidding me, boy? Bringing it back again. All over the left sideline. 50, 45, 30, 20, 10, 4. Touchdown. Touchdown. Touchdown. How good is that? That's courtesy of the Jaguars radio network. Devin Lloyd, a great defensive move prior to making the interception. It looked like he was faking going up the middle and then he all of a sudden kind of came back and he was right there in the passing lane and made an unbelievable interception. Play of the day. Play of the day is brought to you by the great folks at Mako. You have that trusty old ride, but it doesn't have to be old. You can get paint, new paint, and they got a sale on paint right now. Dense, faded paint. They got you covered. Literally. Free estimate today. Oh, better get Mako. Yes, Todd. So again, that was the Jaguars call, not the Kansas City Chiefs call. That was not the Kansas City chief. I'm sure that you would love for the Chiefs announcer to have sounded like that, right? Well, I know I was very excited about that. As far as how the AFC west could play out, that was a lovely 99 yard pick six. That wasn't the, that wasn't. And I was dancing around that. I, I, I, no, you can't do that. There's got to be the happy medium. We'll get into it with Dave. What the mindset is in calling you, will you. You are disappointed in Dave Sims, the Yankee announcer. I don't know if disappointed is the word. I want to know what the mindset is of calling something that's going against your team that's of significance in the playoffs. In the break, Todd was saying, yeah, I'm sure Dave will take it well. You know, he's a big time broadcaster. What does he care what I say? Because I have so many years of play by play experience, you know, he should listen to my suggestions. Jeremy in Alabama. Hi, Jeremy. What's on your mind today? Hey, guys, first of all, let me just say Marvin has taken over my number one Danette spot. It's a real tight race for second place. And so, you know, Marvin's just, you my dog, man. What I called about was I think it's the second time that LeBron has done this and I think the last time he did it it was for Amazon prime deal days. And I think that's where we're at. I think that started this week. So it's got to be something where he's selling something. So I wish he'd just quit doing it. I mean, let's, let's just start, just play basketball, quit selling stuff. Well, he makes a lot of money selling stuff. I don't think he should stop selling stuff. But you know, we're going to be. I just, what, it'll be a negative reaction. That's, that's the problem with LeBron. You don't have to do this like, hey, how about. This will be, you know, the decision. It'll be part two. Is he going to announce his retirement now? Maybe. I mean, I'd be shocked if he's going to announce it this way, but it does feel like this is product endorsed announcement. Cam in Florida. Hi, Cam. What's on your mind? Yes, this is Cam. Hi, Cam. Hey, how you doing, Dan? 6 foot 2 a dusty Rhodes. 230 dusty. So, hey, I think I know what he's gonna announce. And he's gonna. I remember a time back in the 90s when another basketball player announced something. I think he might be doing a Magic Irving announcement. And the Amazon catch is the pharmacy. The Amazon pharmacy. He's going to get through Amazon and everybody else can get the Meds all right, Cam. Thank you. Yeah, I think. Well, we got to wait two hours, so we will. Let's see Casper in Wyoming. Not to be confused with Casper Wyoming. Thanks for having me on, Dan. I was going to say I have Tampa Bay at the top of my power rankings where it's easier to come out of the NFC South. And although the AFC south is wide open, I still have Tennessee Titans at the bottom of my list for the Dow rankings. Thanks for having me on. Great show. Thank you. Thank you, Casper. Yeah. All right, Titans. With that big win, though, we'll hear from the Arizona head coach, Jonathan Gannon. He is apologizing for airing out his running back who dropped the ball prior to the goal line. We don't have time to do it here. We'll do it coming up top of next hour. Interesting comments by him. And looking at the video, he did need to apologize. Seaton, would you update us on the poll results on the maybe power and dower rankings? Yeah. Yeah. Right now. Let's see. It looks like the power rankings have Bills, Lions, Eagles, Tampa right now, but that can change. Go to danpatrick.com you can vote on that. The dower rankings right now have Jets, Titans, Dolphins, Giants. A big anti New York bias there as the worst team. What are the jets and giants? One in seven. That sound right? Yikes. That's not good. All right, one hour in the books. Two more to go, including in 25 minutes from now. Fritzi confronts the Yankee broadcaster Dave Sims and tells him how disappointing. Making it sound like it's gonna be some kind of Caesar's palace fighting. His grand slam call against the Yankees wasn't enthusiastic enough.
