You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. It's hour two on this Tuesday. Dan and the Danettes Dan Patrick show if you're a Bengal fan, are you holding out hope that maybe, just maybe, you can win the next four games and end up nine and eight? You're at the Titans. You host the Browns. You host the Broncos and then you're at the Steelers. So you're saying there's a chance. Stat of the day, brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the program. And Sunday night, it's the packers and Seahawks. That'll be prime time Sunday, 7 Eastern on NBC. And Peacock, which is where you can watch this program all three hours if you would like. All 13 cameras as we present a radio show on TV or a TV show on radio. 8773 DP. Show operator Tyler sitting by to take your phone calls. Last night, this was the play that turned the game around with the Bengals and the Cowboys. All right, here's the punt by Ryan Reo. Oh, got it. Ball is blocked. Oh, no. Cowboys touch it. The Bengals are going to have the ball. Oh, no. You can't touch it when it's blocked beyond the line of scrimmage. And the Bengals are going to have it at the 45. All you have to do is let it roll. Don't touch it, and you'll get that ball. Then all of a sudden, you put a hand on it. Now it's a live ball. Bengals recover. And then it was a touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Jamar Chase. And just like that, that was a tough loss. Here's Jerry Joan, the Cowboys owner. If you told me that going into the end of that fourth quarter, all they had was 20 points, I would have taken that with a smile and said, if we can hold them to 20, that gives us our best chance. And we did that. So I thought our defense played really well tonight, on balance. Played well enough to win, and obviously our offense played well enough to win. We just. There's three phases. You got a special teams phase, and that cost us. The Cowboys are one in six at home, on pace for their worst home record since 2015, when they were one in seven. Their point differential is almost 17 points per home game, their worst since their first year of existence in 1960. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Stat of the day. Here comes that. What? Stat of the day, brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. I was wondering, when was the last time we had three teams with at least 11 wins in the NFC at this juncture in the season? So The Lions are 12 and 1. Eagles are 11 and 2. Vikings 11 and 2. The last time the NFC had three teams with at least 11 wins through the first 13 games of a season was 1986. Giants, Redskins and the Bears were all 11 and 2. All right, phone calls are welcome. We'll get to those poll question for hour one and then what are we going to go with our two seaton? Well, we got up there right now. Receiver I would start my team with right now. Your options are Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Brock Bowers and CD Lamb. Jamar Chase is leading that with about 45% of the vote, followed by Justin Jefferson 2.7% of the vote. CD Lam okay, that seems crazy to me. CD Lamb's a star. It's just Jamar Chase recency bias. I'm going to guess because he was awesome last night, he's having a great season too. Justin Jefferson makes it look easy and so does Brock Bowers. But you have to go out of your way to watch the Raiders. You have to find them. And then when you find them, then you realize Brock Bowers is a difference maker. He's lived up to the hype because when he was at Georgia and even lad McConkey, I mean is he going to end up with a thousand yards receiving? And who would have thought? He was kind of lost in the shuffle there with Georgia, which happens because of all the talent there. But with the Chargers, he's been their go to guy. He's been really unbelievable. Rob Galski will join us in an hour from now. Get his thoughts on Brock Bowers and can he be Rookie of the Year? Has Jaden Daniels built up enough house cred that Brock Bowers can't be the Rookie of the Year? Because if I'm going to, he's going to probably set the record for rookie receptions. Puka Nakua had that and what is it, 105. So he's on pace for around, you know, 107, 108, maybe a thousand yards receiving for a terrible team. Jaden Daniels, if he gets his team in the playoffs then he's, he deserves Rookie of the Year because that's a big deal, especially at that position. What are the odds? How much of a favorite is Jaden Daniels Pauling? Quite a bit. He's minus 265. Heavy favorite Bo Nix is right behind him. Brock Bowers is third as of today. Kayla Williams and a few other guys are in the mix. Yeah, Caleb Williams doesn't deserve to be in the mix. Bo Nix has done well. Brock Bowers has been really good. Not going to win it, but he's going to make a late run here. Maybe make it a little uncomfortable here for the voters. Yes, Marvin, is it going to be weird when Brock Bowers is first team all Pro but doesn't win offensive rookie of the year in the NFL. Wow. How many tight ends have been first team all pro their rookie year? I mean, wow. And that is a, now that's a specialized position, you know, tight end. It's just you're a glorified wide receiver, you know, playing tight end and the attention that we put on that position here in the last 10 years or so. But for him to be first team all pro at tight end. Yeah. Paulie, I have Sam Laporta as second team all pro last year. I'm double checking but I have him as I've got some argument in back from a Lions fan. But I have his second team all pro last by checking. Okay, well picture day. Ray is a Lions fan so he's probably, you know, trying to plead his case that Sam Laporta deserved to be first team on. Yeah, I think that's what's going on. We're checking, of course, of course. No college football playoff games coming up this weekend because they give the weekend to army and Navy. Then after that it'll start on Friday, December 20, Indiana at Notre Dame. And I mentioned this first hour, if you're just joining us, the over under first round road wins for the college football playoffs is one and a half that I was surprised. I thought it might have been a half that, you know, is it going to be one team is going to win on the road or nobody's going to win? It feels like at least one team is going to win a road game and everybody on the road is at least a touchdown underdog here. Indiana seven and a half. Tennessee seven and a half. Clemson's like a 12 point underdog to Texas, I think. So there's, there's some, there's some point spreads here that are a little larger than I'm sure the college football committee would like. Yes, it's kind of the more that I look at this like the bracket, it's going to be incredibly difficult for a first round team to win the whole thing. Yes, yes. That is a, that's a tall task. Yeah. You're going to have to win a cup and you're going to win on the road and then you're going to win on the road and how many. You have to have four wins if you're a team that's playing this next weekend. Yeah. See, I wonder if there's even a single team in college football that's played any way you chop this up has played that tough of a four game stretch in the entire season. I Bet that they haven't four games back to back like that against teams like this. I bet nobody's done that. They should at least throw Mercer in there for one weekend for one of these teams, you know. Yeah. Usually there's a. Right. Kransburg State in there. Yeah. Sean in Oregon leads us off second hour. Hi, Sean, what's on your mind today? Hey, Dan, I wanted to touch on this. Bill Belichick to nc. I mean, I think that's a terrible idea. I mean, everyone knows that college football is about recruiting. And could you imagine Bill Belichick in there trying to recruit people he can't even relate to? I mean, we're talking. This guy is going to be problems. I mean, the next first thing I do is put stipulations on him saying, you can't date the college girls, Bill. I'd tell him that straight away. And I just don't think that's going to work out. I think it's going to be a comedy show. I mean, NFL teams ac they don't want to bring him in now. No good football teams want to bring him in. I think he's going to be able to grab their attention because they know he can get them to the pros. I mean, that's what it comes down to. These kids are going to college, they want to get paid, they want to play and they want to get to the pros. If you're going and Bill Belichick is your coach, I think he'll be a magnet. This isn't relatability. He has other coaches who can relate to the players. Your offensive coordinator, your defensive coordinator, your quarterback's coach, your receivers coach. He is the CEO. He's going to run a company. Nick Saban seemed to relate and they're the same age, so I don't buy into that. You learn, you adapt. And Belichick has always done that until the latter part of his career in New England where I think it became a very tense filled atmosphere with him and Robert Kraft. But this is Bill maybe saying, I got three years here and I turn it over to my son and I think that these kids going in there are going to go, can he get me to the NFL? Because that's what they want. Yeah. Marvin. Yeah. Can you imagine Belichick going in there, hey, I know you're a three star recruit. Nobody looks at you. But I drafted a guy in the sixth round, he turned out all right. Or Malcolm Butler, he was from West Alabama. Who heard of him? And then I turned him into something he Has a history of doing this with, like, lesser known talent and turning him into something. So why can't he do that with Carolina? I mean, this seems perfect for him as long as he has the NIL money. And once again, with what's happening in college football is these coaches know I don't want to deal with nil. I don't want to deal with transfer portal. That's why you have schools who are hiring general managers. That's what they're going to do. Andrew Luck is a GM of Stanford Football. He's going to be handling these things. The coach is going to coach. Now, he might say, I like that guy. I like that guy more than that guy. Hey, we're going to need you, Bill, to close this guy. His mom wants to meet you. He might be doing things like that, but I think this is a great situation. It's Carolina, North Carolina. I don't know if there's a downside to it. Not right now. If he's interested in North Carolina and he's had two interviews, you imagine the person who's interviewing. All right. Prior experience. I. I brought my rings here. I'm the greatest coach of all time. Okay. All right, let me see the resume here. Do you have any recommendations? Yeah, hold on. Yeah, Tom, could you talk to him? Hey, it's Tom Brady. I just want to say the Bill's great. Thank you, Tom. Oh, who's on the phone? Hey, it's Nick Saban. Hey, coach. So you vouch for Bill Belichick? Yeah, he's really good. Yeah, he's the greatest ever. Okay. All right. You got some decent resumes here. You got some, you know, good people here. Sticking up for Robert Kraft is not one of your references. Yes, Todd, that was the pros. Bill, this is college. There's a whole other world you're dealing with. Do you have the tight end information there, Paulie? Yeah, tight ends. Rookie tight ends that made first team all pro. I can find two in the past 40 years. 40? Past 40. One of them 80, late 80s, early 90s, the other early 2000s. Superstars in college. Both of them pretty tough. Yes, Mar. Kellen Winslow to second. No, that was going to be my guess. Good guess. Yeah. You're on the right track with Kellen Winslow, the second. Kellen Winslow. No. What? Marvin. Jeremy Shockey. Jeremy Shockey's cracks. Whoa. His rookie year. Okay, I got it. Okay. There's a guy felt like he was on his way to the hall of Fame. Four Pro Bowls in five years. All pro as a first team as a rookie not in the hall of Fame. And the other one is 80s 90s. Here's the hint. Mark Bavaro. No. Ooh. Oh, that's a good one. Wow. That's a great guess. This guy was an all American in college and with a Keith Jackson. Keith Jackson's correct. He was lightly used at Oklahoma. Oklahoma. But he was first team all pro his first three years with the Eagles and somehow is did not make the hall of Fame. Wow, what a killer. Well, it's a lot of guys who get shot out of a cannon and then all of a sudden how long do you stay in the air? Odell Beckham Jr. The third is not going to the hall of Fame. He's not. Neither has been Coates or Ben Watson. Was that was he played forever? Yes. He might still be playing. Yep. It felt like he was around for 20 years. There's a bunch of great college titans. Jermaine Grisham I thought was going to like change the game. He was out of Oklahoma. Yeah. And never really did. He went to the Bengals. He did, yeah. Who was, who was the guy with the Saints? Jimmy Graham. I thought Jimmy Graham was going to change the position. I did. Vernon Davis. Vernon Davis was great too. But I thought Jimmy Graham is like guy that big basketball player, just throw it up. He's going to dominate. It just. I don't care how big you are. Like you get tired of getting hit, you know. He was a big target and he got pounded. Yes, Mark. He wanted to get paid as a wide receiver. Yes. He contract talks. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. All right, let me take a break. We'll get some more phone calls coming up. 877 3DP show Gronk coming up next hour. We'll take a break. Back after this. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Congratulations to 3am Innovations on their first place win for innovation in community at this year's Unconventional Awards by T mobile. For business, 3am used T Mobile 5G to enable Florian, the first AI enabled incident command platform for first responders. Florian's features include real time tracking of personnel on a 3D map and voice activation. AI is used to filter out background noise until it hears a trigger word such as Mayday, increasing situational awareness on the ground and improving on site safety. This will shape rapid response moving forward. And for that T Mobile congratulates 3am for their unconventional thinking. You may be wondering, even if you're not wondering, I was. What are the Mets chances to win the World Series after signing Juan Soto, who has the best odds to win the World Series? This according to DraftKings. Paul, I'll start with you. Best odds to win the World Series next year? The Los Angeles Dodgers. That would be correct. Still a big favor to win it all. Second on the list. Marvin. Second best odds to win the World Series. The Padres. No. Todd. The New York Mets. No. Seaton. The Braves. Yes. I was surprised at that. Nailed it. Then it's the Mets and then it's the Yankees. I like how Scott Morris, at the very end, being the true negotiator that he is, goes back to the Yankees after the Mets give them their offer and says, if you want to match this. And the Yankees go, no. It feels like the Yankees won by not bringing in Juan Soto. It's weird. You didn't get the guy you wanted, and I think you won. Yes. Paul, if you're the Mets gm, don't you say to Scott, boris, here's our offer. It's our final offer, and I don't want you calling anybody after we offer your guy $750 million. That's 765. 765. If we offer you that number, no more phone calls. Put the phone away. You think you'd have some juice if you're the GM of the Mets? I have bought a house before where I said, I will pay your list price, but that's it. You agree to it right now, and then the realtor goes, well, no. And I said, okay. And I walked away. And then when they realized that they weren't going to get what they thought, then they came back to me and I go, I'm not paying that. That's what it was two weeks ago. Now it's that. And then they go, no. So we both moved on. But 765 feels like that's. That's the final offer. And if. If we give you this, then it's over. Correct. But Scott Morris is not going to do that. And it came down to who was going to pay the most money. That there's no surprise here. The Mets were going to pay the most money. And I like the fiscal sanity that the Yankees showed because you got to have a roster here. And I had a baseball guy, smart baseball guy, last night say to me, juan Soto is going to be a DH by the time he's 30. So you're spending all of this money on a guy who's not a good fielder, has a good arm, and he is going to be a DH for a majority of the probably 10 of these 15 years. He's going to be a DH? Yes, Marvin. I'll check. You caught me off guard. Sorry. I think it's just a bad move for them. Ten years at the top. No, no, no. I give you credit. You tried to salvage that. I did. 10 years. I was getting something to drink. You thought you were coming to me. I'm going to call a block on you. I'm going to let the runner. He's going to go to third. Runner goes to third. The Bach on Marvin. My bad. I thought that you were leaning into your microphone because you were going to say something. Yes, Todd, other than having to win what you said yesterday, at least one World Series and as a DH in a few years from now, whenever that is, what type of numbers as a DH would have to put up for it to make anywhere near the sense of. You tell me. You tell me. Because I never would have signed him like 50 home runs in back. 380 and 130 RBI. Well, that. None of those are probably going to happen, certainly the 50 home runs, I guess. But if you win a title with him, I mean for that team, you win one title, you can live off that. That's why I thought when the Angels brought. When the. You're getting a drink, too. There I was. I was getting a drink and Marvin called on me. Yes, Paulie, sometimes I was thinking about this yesterday, like how many teams were bidding for Soto? Let's say maybe a top. Maybe four teams were bidding in that 700 million range. Yeah. If I were a general manager of one of those teams like the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, I don't know if there's any more that could spend that kind of money. Would you consider colluding together and talking to each other offline with no emails or texts and saying no because the market is being driven by these agents and what if you colluded and said, all right, let's. Let's all agree we're not going over this number and make our pitch some other way or avoid that 700 number and yeah, but. But you. You could be taking. You're bringing more teams into it. If I'm a GM and I want him, I got to remove teams. You're going to say, hey, we're not going to go over 550. First of all, Scott Boris, I got. You don't want to play that game with Scott Boris, because it. There's no secrets. Like, stuff eventually gets out, then Scott Boris is going to say, none of my clients are going to go play for you. Yes, Todd. And could team executives fully, 100% trust each other on this oral agreement? You certainly can't put it in writing that you're colluding. And it's like all of a sudden one of the team says, you know what? I don't care what we were all talking about. I'm grabbing this guy. No, but I think the Yankees won by not getting him. Because that even though I'd love to have him in that stadium, but I think somebody said that Juan Soto's parents or his mother had an issue with a security guard with the Yankees, and maybe that played a role. And I'm like, what do you imagine? I mean, it's not similar, but it's could be similar. The person at Nike who mispronounced Steph Curry's name when they had him in to talk to him about, you know, representing the Jordan brand. And then all of a sudden, and he talked about that with us, that they mispronounced his first name. And I think it was Steven. And he decided that he was going to go to Under Armour. Yes, Marv, don't worry about it. In 2041. So it will be back with the Nationals. Like, oh, you know what? I'm going to retire in National. This is always where I wanted to be. The Mets will not be his last stop. And look, I don't know him. I haven't been around him because people say, what do you have against Juan Soto? It's not him. It's just, do you want to pay for somebody that. That's what they do. Not a good fielder, not a good Baserunner. And he's 26. And you're going to spend that kind of money. No, that's all. Nothing to do with him. The timing was right for him. I don't want any of these contracts that are over 10 years. The Angels had to get. The Cardinals didn't want Albert Pujols. They got the best 10 years of his career. All of a sudden the Angels and Artie Moreno go, we're going to bring him in. And I thought, if you win one World Series, then it's worth it. And they kept getting further and further away. I don't even know if they want to playoff game with him, but I don't. It's just there. There's so many games, so many opportunities for something bad to happen or get injured. And with Juan Soto, he won't get injured. Running hard. I will say that because he's not a good baserunner. He's a great hitter who's 26. That's it. So do I think it's crazy to spend that money? Yes. No matter how much money you have, what you've done is now the next guy up is going to go, I put my numbers up against Soto. He's worth that. I must be worth this. That's what happened with a lot of these guys during the steroid era. They're saying, hey, look at my numbers compared to Hank Aaron or Willie Mays or Babe Ruth. And then you can say I deserve 20 million a year. I mean, that's how it works. Yeah. Paulie, just a side note here. Since you brought up the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, I think there's just the Los Angeles Angels. Now, in the past 14 years, they've played in three playoff games. They've had no victories, Zero playoff victories. On those teams were Mike Trout, Josh Hamilton, Shohei Ohtani, and Albert Pujols. Zero playoff victories. And no pitching staff. Nope. No, no. They tried. He tried. And then the. What was it last year, the year before, when they. All they did is draft pitchers. 21 pitchers. Let's see. Bob in Illinois. Hi, Bob. What's on your mind today? Hey, you guys are talking about a football team to lose the first weekend of the playoffs. I got to think the second weekend, too, though, somebody likely to lose in that round. Also, I'm about to start a confidence pool with my Southern Illinois buddies. Go, Dogs. What are the odds that somebody picks a perfect bracket? There's only 12 teams now, like basketball, you're looking at 64, so gotta be a big exponential number. Perfect bracket. Put your best math set on it. Suck at geometry. All right. Thank you, Bob. Yeah. I think we're gonna do our bracket challenge, aren't we? We gotta fill out our brackets like we do with March Madness. Let me see. Lucas in Texas is back. Hi, Luke. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, I wanted to call and talk about the play last night in the Cowboys game. Look, I'm. I'm not a Cowboys fan. I love when they struggle, but it drives me nuts that this guy low on the roster is going to be a convenient scapegoat for why they lost, when it's just the showmanship of the Cowboys that drives so many people away. And I think it was just personified in how Micah Parsons was acting. That's not acting like a leader, throwing that pity party there. I mean, you've played it basically 50% of your output over the past few years and you're just throwing a temper tantrum. You're not acting like a leader. I mean, the problems with the Cowboys are not these low ranking players that make one little mistake on the field. It's the owner, it's the coach, it's the star players, and then they're just looking for convenient scapegoats. It just really bugs me there that this guy is probably going to bear the blame for something that's much bigger than himself. Yeah, I didn't know if Micah Parsons could see himself on the Jumbotron now. I'm always a little suspicious now. He was very animated when, you know, they lost the ball on that block punt and then he looks up to the Jumbotron. I don't know if they're showing a replay of the play. It's almost like he looked up and he saw himself and then came back down and then was a little more demonstrative and then he stormed off the field as well. Now I can look at it two ways. He really wants to win. He cares about winning, or he sometimes makes this about himself. And I see a little bit of Draymond Green in Micah Parsons, that he understands. I play a role in the media. I can be a personality. I can say things, I can do things. Now, he's a great athlete and that you give him a little leeway there, but I wondered about that. Is he seeing. Is he acting a little bit like I care? I really care now he said all along he hopes Mike McCarthy's back. He wants to run this back. If I'm a Cowboy fan, I don't want to run this back. There's no reason to go, hey, can't wait to run this back. Like, what are you running back? You don't have a running back. You got a really good wide receiver. Micah Parsons going to get paid over $30 million. Dak comes back after surgery. Do you have Mike McCarthy again and what else do you have? Yes, Todd, I found it to be a very bad look. As much as I don't like both teams hugging and taking. Giving each other each other's jerseys and all that. A bad look by who? A bad look by Parsons. From a leadership standpoint and pouting and being angry and storming off the field, you know that. That especially he's one of the best players on the team and a team leader. That's just not what you do you got to believe the camera is going to be on you and Jerry Jones. They're going to be taking reaction shots after that horrible play with by the special teams. But that's just. Can't be doing that. Get. Get into the locker room and then you can throw a fit in there. So everyone doesn't need to see that. Well, wait, you were saying that he didn't stop in on the. The hugathon. No, I just said, as much as I don't like when players do that and they're all hugging and kissing each other after the game, you know, I just. It's. It's even worse the way he handled it. Well, wait, you don't like either? I don't like either. But between the two of them, I don't like more Parsons walking and storming out like that. And, you know, so if he sat there quietly with no reaction, but also did not pray with his teammates after the game, that would benefit. There's different levels of sportsmanship. You could say, hey, good game. And then, you know, pat somebody in the back. You know, you don't have to, like, you know, get into a HUD when you get to the pros. I don't believe in sportsmanship. I just. You're paid, I'm paid. Do your job. I do my job. And it's. It's a cutthroat business. If, If Micah Parsons went and did the Kumbaya at midfield, I wouldn't have thought anything about that any store. I think he was upset, you know, losing the way they lost. And I think the frustration is there. Yes, Todd, should the coaches. Head coaches feel a need that they have to shake hands? They're. Do they have opposing quarterbacks? It seems like they feel obligated to do that. So if with sportsmanship, who cares, then why don't they. The losing team should just leave the field. Why are they even going over? No, the coach. I get that, the respect for one another. But the quarterbacks. The quarterbacks are. No, the quarterbacks are in a fraternity. The quarterbacks stick up for quarterbacks. It's a formality. They know they're going to be on camera and they see each other. They're always, you know, in. It feels like the quarterbacks have a fraternity, that they stay in touch with each other. They have respect for each other and the coach, I get that. But Micah Parsons shaking the other edge rusher's hand with the Bengals, that doesn't happen now. He might go up to Joe Burrow and say, hey, man, you killed us But I don't wait for that. Yes. Yeah. Like, I think, yes. Quarterbacks are in a fraternity. I think football players in general are in the larger fraternity. And I think that having mutual respect for somebody after the game is. Is an extremely important part of it. And I don't have any issue with people being like, hey, man, great game. That was. You guys beat the crap out of us today. That's awesome. It's just like a mature way of handling, you know, being professional. Yeah. I don't like. How many other players do you see marquee players that aren't a quarterback or your head coach who do this or don't do this? I think we focus on the coach and the quarterback. I get that. Well, I think TV focuses on the coach and the quarterback. Everybody else is standing around having the exact same conversation. That's what that whole crowd of people is. It's not just two or three guys, positions specific, that are saying hello to each other or shaking each other's hand. It's every single player on the field is doing it. We just only care about two or three. Yes. Todd, why do you think in basketball and football they're more likely to get together and put their arms around each other? As far as brotherhood and being pros in the stands for baseball and hockey, they pretty much leave, at least from my experience. The other team that loses the baseball. Well, not everybody is on the baseball field at the same time. On the basketball floor. The game ends. You're on the basketball floor. Yeah, but you're in the dugout. You're not exactly far away from the playing field where you can go out to the other team. But the tradition is that all the players line up by the pitcher and the catcher and they high five each other. The winning team. Yeah, I'm talking about the opposing team once they lose. Yeah, but what I'm saying is they don't. That's not the tradition of baseball. They're not all on the field together. Basketball players and most of these basketball players have known each other, competed against each other, AAU High school all star games. So maybe there is some friendships there. But you're also there on the floor. I mean, the Pistons famously walked off the floor with Michael Jordan. They weren't going to shake his hand. I get it. I didn't have a problem with it. They didn't like Jordan. Jordan didn't like them. Yes. The handshake line in hockey is one of the most celebrated pieces of, I don't know, like a respectful tradition in sports. As you could possibly have these dudes just beat the crap out of each other on the ice and then they get in line like they're seven years old. Good game. Good game. Good game. Good game. It's awesome. It's great. Is that in the Stanley Cup Final? They don't do that in the regular season. They do it in the playoffs, though, but it's still. Yeah, they don't do it in the regular. Regular season. I get that. They don't do it in the regular season, but in the playoffs they do it. And that's when it's supposed to mean the most. That's when you're the most emotional. Yeah, I love watching it, but if it didn't happen, I don't miss it. And I just think that, you know, are people upset with the Pistons with what they did to the Bulls? How dare you. At the time, it was a big deal. In fact, the game wasn't even over. I think there were like six seconds. They just like, I'm getting up, we're gone. I don't know. I'm okay. I like, I like a little rivalry. I like a little tension. I like, you know, do I like sportsmanship on the field when you're playing? I like that. But the after. And let me give you a hug and. Yeah, yeah, Mark. Yeah. I'm just glad that didn't cost Isaiah Thomas anything. Let's take a break, get phone calls. Coming up, the most disappointing team in the NFL. This will shape rapid response moving forward and for that, T Mobile congratulates 3am for their unconventional thinking. Craig in San Antonio hi Craig, Good morning sir. Thanks for the vine. I'll have a take. Hopefully it won't suck. Almost guaranteed not to be epic. Oh, almost forgot. 62 A Disappointingly Squishy 197 Squishy so, yeah, I was just wondering when you were going to break the news about the first graduate from the super secret Todd Fritz wing of the Dan Patrick School of Broadcasting. Who is that? Tom Brady. Tom Brady is the Todd Fritz School of Broadcasting or my school of broadcasting? Help me understand what you're getting. Okay, so basically, when you listen to Tom Brady, if he can say what he needs to say in five words, he'll use 50. Okay. And if he said a point once, he'll say it again. Okay. But he really doesn't tell you anything new. Which the best commentators I've ever listened to, John Smoltz, whomever, they'll get in, get out. But they tell you something you don't know about the game. Well, I don't know how good they were. I mean, this is revisionist history with John Smoltz when he first started or go Back to Tim McCarver. I don't know how long it took before they got to the point where we were comfortable with them. Tony Romo. So give Tom credit. He. He needs to. He's kind of finding out himself while he's on the air doing this because he spent an entire career trying to tell us nothing. Now he has to tell us. And now he has to be insightful. He has to learn how to edit himself. And I know that he's working with people at Fox, he's trying to get data from people at Fox. So he is giving you some fresh information there, but you gotta give him a little bit of time. Look, I was rough on him the first couple of weeks because I just. It wasn't up to the standard that it should have been. That's all. But he's got to listen to himself. He's got to edit himself. He has to understand. You got to get in and out. 15 seconds. Say it. Be analytical. Tell me something I may not know or I didn't see. You know, that's what happens some. Herb street does a really good job with this. Herbie sees things and then they'll show the replay and he's explaining something. And I think, you know, he played the position not at a high level, obviously, in the NFL, but he's been doing it 25 years. Collinsworth, he knows what he's looking for. Troy Aikman, they know what they're looking for. Brady needs to find what he's supposed to be finding and then express that to you and do it in, you know, less than 30 seconds. It's hard to do, to understand, and then all of a sudden, Communicate that because for so many years it's like Belichick went so many years without telling us anything and now he can't shut up. He wants to tell us everything, but he has the format to be. Belichick couldn't do a football game. But you know, long form, he's on McAfee or he's on a podcast. He gets as much time as he wants. Brady has to be sharp in a small window and he's learning to do that. Do I think he's in it for the long haul? I don't, but I do think that he wants to be great as long as he's doing it. Chad in Salt Lake. Hey, Chad. Yeah, Glad you had Craig there to play programmer in the box for you. Onto the Bill Belichick in North Carolina. A lot of people don't pay attention or didn't notice. I don't think the story got that far out of the Northwest. But he spent the whole summer up with Jed Fish and the University of Washington Huskies in their training camp and working with the young players. So anybody who's concerned about him being able to assimilate back into the college game, I don't think they're seeing the big picture. I think this guy's ready to coach. I think he could go coach 11 year old kids if he wanted to. He's a coach, he coaches and I think he'll do a great job. If he takes North Carolina, I don't worry about can he relate to these kids. The kids are going to want to relate to him. They want it. They want to get to the next level. You're not going to, you know, socializing. You're not, you're not doing happy hour. He's the CEO. He'd be the CEO of North Carolina football. The people you communicate with are the assistant coaches. He'll be. He'd be fine if he was doing this. Does he want to do it? How badly does he want to do it? Do they have nil? How involved does he want to be? That'd be what I would want to know. All right. The most disappointing team in the NFL this year. Let's go around the room. The team most disappointing, Todd the one six and three now six and seven Falcons having to consider benching Cousins for Penix now on a four game losing streak in a weak division, having all kinds of problems. That is my most disappointing team. Okay. Thought you were very succinct in what you said. I think was taking a shot at me. Yeah, he was taking. He might have Been taking a shot of me. He took a long time to get around to say thank you. Thank you for saying that. Seaton. The most disappointing team in the NFL. Wow. Two candidates certainly played last night. But so far I would say I'm most disappointed. It could be any team, right? Yeah. The Baltimore Ravens. Oh, dang. I'm most disappointed in them. Marvin. Most disappointing team. The Miami Dolphins. All right, Paul. The Jets. Yeah, that's who. I'm just going to take 3 and 10 in a division. You could have picked off a bunch of wins. Everything was in place. Yep. Yes. The jets should be at least a 10 win team. Who else would I put in there? Just the Jags are disappointing. I guess you got to put the Bengals just because they're five and eight. Dallas. I, I can't say I'm surprised. I guess I'm. I'm surprised they were this bad at home, but disappointing. Bengals. Bengals are up there. Yes. Mar. What about the Bears? Yes. Yeah, I thought that they were a playoff. Borderline playoff caliber, too. They no showed against San Francisco. Like, you give me Micah Parsons. Pouting, acting like a, you know, spoiled kid, or you want to give me the Bears where they were just kind of apathetic, like, okay, like it. At least Micah Parsons had a pulse. The Bears didn't. Yes. Todd, can you give the Bears a little bit of a break because of the division being so strong and how strong those other three teams are, that it's, it's okay that they're where they are based on how powerful the Vikings are and the Lions and even Green Bay, but that you don't give up. If you watch their body language against the Niners. That has nothing to do with how tough their division is. Those guys are making business decisions. Rob Gronkowski will join us in 10 minutes from now. More phone calls. Final hour in this Tuesday. Coming up, the flavor, the tradition and the spirit of carne asada lives on at Del Taco.
