That was embarrassing. Dude, anytime you're left hanging like that, oh, it's the most deflating feeling ever, bro.

I even feel embarrassed if a kid leaves me hanging when I'm coaching, when I'm like, yeah, good job, little buddy. And I get like, come on, give me fist bump if that's embarrassing. Imagine you're at UFC and you go to give the President a handshake and he's like, not right now.

[Rich Davis]

Oh, so cold.

[Covino]

Cringy.

[Rich Davis]

So cold. So that happened over the weekend, but again, Back to Rory McIlroy. Paige Spiranek tweeted. I mean, millions of people tweeted, but she said something along the lines of how nice it was to see everybody in the moment without their phones. And I told you, I went to a concert over the weekend where they took away the phones. It was a party and I was actually having great conversation. No pressures of taking selfies and people recording. Recording footage that they'll never see again. People simply recording to brag about the fact that they were there. That's the other reason, too. It's like, hey, look at me. You're doing it for the gram. Just to brag to your three friends on social media that you were at this event.

[Covino]

They do this a lot with stand up comedy specials. And just stand up in general. Like, hey, no phones. Put your phones away. Check your phones at the door. I know Dave Chappelle is huge for anytime he does a special, no phones allowed. And it's the ability of being in the moment. We've lost the ability to want to be in the moment. And when you saw all eyes on the Masters and no one had their.

[Rich Davis]

Phone out and then they showed.

[Covino]

Have you seen the side by side Watch the footage. Have you seen the side by side picture that's floating around of the NBA and the Masters from over the weekend? The NBA, like LeBron, someone was going up for a shot and you saw everyone in the crowd.

[Rich Davis]

It's everyone phone up, everyone breastfeeding. Because we're stating the obvious. But no one ever watches this footage again. You never have your buddies over and you say, hey, you want to see my highlights from the game I was at? No, because your footage is not better than the actual footage that the professionals have captured already. You don't need that. Paige's hot take was, I wish all sporting events banned phones. It was so special to see everyone enjoying the moment and being present. So your thoughts on that? It starts at the dinner table, but you can incorporate this further into your life. And I think there's a lot of young kids that are pushing back and starting to realize that there's more to life than this. And I think it's becoming a trend. I'll give you two more examples of how and why life without your phone could be a lot better. Two things I saw over the weekend, actually, they both involve the Angels. Did you see that Jabroni that interfered with the foul ball that Mike Trout could have had? That was a big highlight over the weekend.

Mike Trout was hot.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, Mike. Mike Trout goes to catch a foul ball in right field and some Astros fan leans in and it seems fair. Well, not fair. It's a foul ball, but it's an okay play because it's in some foul territory. But he grabs the ball out of his mitt, kind of like what happened in the Yankees playoffs in the postseason this past year. He grabs out of the mitt and then tries to give it back to Mike Trout and he apologize. Oh, now we all saw that. But after the game, the update was that Mike Trout went out to find this guy and his kid to apologize. For getting heated in the moment. And he wanted to give him a few autographs.

[Covino]

An autograph.

[Rich Davis]

Ball and bat or whatever.

[Covino]

It was very nice. It's a very nice. I just look at it as a prejudice against guidos. Because the guy that did it to Mookie Betts, that guy's a criminal. And this guy's, like, the best dude. What? You're from Jersey?

[Rich Davis]

Yeah. Why you?

[Covino]

What's the difference? Same crime.

[Rich Davis]

Yeah, what's up with that? Why those jabronis get banned from baseball forever and this guy's all over social media because of this Mike Trout moment.

[Steve Kerr]

Did those guys apologize, though?

[Covino]

No, they were just hateable ass clown Yankees fans, which I'm okay with it.

They were Gronk's buddies. That's the true story. They were Gronk's buddies.

For real. That's right.

So I don't know if you saw the update, but I urge you to check it out, because guess what? The beautiful moment was ruined the moment. The father, and I say this respectfully, maybe he's a nice guy, he's probably a great dad, whatever, but he ruined the moment. When Mike Trout is talking to him, man to man, Mike Trout goes out of his way, man to man, to say, hey, man, I'm sorry I got heated. It's all good. I want you guys to enjoy the game. Hey, what's up, little buddy? Hey, did you have fun at the game? Here's a Mike Trout autograph. You know what the dad does instead of being a man and shaking his hand and looking at him eye to eye, man to man? He pulls out his phone and he has it up Mike Trout's nose. Like, that's disrespectful. You're not in the moment at that point. And if Mike Trout was. Wasn't a gentleman, he could have easily said, hey, man, put the phone down. What are we doing? Like, it's awkward. Imagine you talking to somebody and they're recording you. When you're talking, you're like, yo. It's like, it feels disrespectful. It feels weird. It's not in the moment, and it ruined the moment.

It's not natural.

[Rich Davis]

Watch back that moment and see what I'm talking about.

Listen, I know there's, like, you know, dirtbags and ass clowns that make a living doing this, like the paparazzi, but that's why you can't blame celebrities. You saw that clip from a week ago where the minute Justin Bieber tries to go to, like, the coffee shop, all these People have phones in his face and he's like, you're all money grubbing a holes and you saw Bieber go off on these people because is.

He going to outer space too? Rich, give me the update.

[Covino]

Shut up. But I think phones, for as great as they are. Listen, social media, smartphones have changed our life in many great ways. But the bad way is that we no longer live in the moment. Comedy show, concert, ball game. We're so.

Dinner table conversation, hanging out with your buddies.

[Covino]

Can I tell you what?

[Rich Davis]

I'll give you this though, because there's a lot of pushback, Rich, to what we're saying.

[Covino]

I'll give you a great example when you.

Gary Vaynerchuk. Gary.

[Covino]

[Rich Davis]

V. Our good pal Gary Van. Yeah, he says, but don't lie about it. When we were hanging out with our buddies growing up, it's not like we were engaged in full conversation the whole time we were watching tv. It wasn't all full conversation. We were watching the game, we were watching mtv. We weren't talking the whole time. So today's just a modern updated version of that. But when you look at the stats, man, it's like 10 hours a week sometimes that you're on your phone and you're losing that eye to eye contact and engagement. Engagement. But it's not like we were fully engaged growing up. We were playing video games. You know, we were still doing that stuff growing up. There's gotta be a better balance. I think it starts with maybe enjoying the ball game, enjoying a dinner, putting it down for that moment on vacation, like the White Lotus. And I said, there's a two prong story about the Angels. This dude, I feel ruined the moment by pulling out the phone. Guess what? The news captured it. You didn't need to record it. That looks stupid. Sorry. You're recording Mike Trout. Like, what a fanboy. I get it, he's Mike Trout. But that was a man to man conversation. Imagine, like, I don't know, give me one of my heroes, Rich.

Rest Derek Jeter.

Rest in peace. All right, Derek Jeter.

Imagine Derek jr. Comes out of his mount rushing to be like, hey, Covino, I just want to say. Heard you feeling it for Dan Patrick. I'm like, hold on, Derek, hold on. And I'm recording him. Say it again, man. Way to put yourself beneath somebody and not be in the moment. Mike Trout came to you as a man. The other Angels related story is that, well, if you remember, Rewind. New York look at friggin flam. The Ron Washington said in the beginning of the season, no phones in the clubhouse for the Angels. And what did we say on our show Covino and Rich? Hey man, it's not a bad idea. Because no matter what, it'll never go back to that. If they stink this year, it'll never go back to. Well, because they didn't have their phones. Yeah, right. So it could only work, it could only help, it can't hurt.

And now that the Angels are surprisingly good, there's some people that are saying maybe they are forming some type of chemistry. Because Ron Washington's stance was all these young kids are not forming the camaraderie and clubhouse relationships because pre game and post game, they're all just sitting in their little, their little spot on their phone, scrolling.

[Rich Davis]

Well, here's the thing too. You talk about building chemistry, right? Let's go back to the Masters again and the wonderful footage and pictures you're seeing from the event. When you have your phone, you're really doing it for other people to brag, like we said, right? It's a brag. It really is. Let's be real. It's a, it's a social media brag. Like I'm here.

[Covino]

It has to be. Because I don't think anyone could argue the following statement.

[Rich Davis]

No, but hold on. You're there with your narcissism, you're there with your, it's all about me right now. And I'm gonna enjoy this, right? When you put the phone down, what are you doing? You're experiencing that with everybody. You're in that together. So you're in that moment together versus I'm in this moment with me and my phone. And that's the difference. So I think the sporting events, what makes them great is you're a bunch of strangers cheering for one team, one goal, one purpose. And you're. When you're taking the phone out, you're losing that bond.

[Covino]

I have a rule that I'm going to throw in here that I think we could all agree upon. But I just want to let it be known. I think we could all agree on one thing. There's no way your lame ass point of view footage on your phone is better than the professionals that do this. If you're part of a cool moment, Kavino's right. It always comes back to look at me, look at me, brag, brag, brag, look at where I was at this concert event or something. And we're all guilty of it. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna sit here and be like, never done that. We've all do it. You're trying to learn from it. We all do it. But just be cognizant that you're doing it. And here's my rule. If you go to a concert, record 10 seconds on your phone of the hook of the song so you can be like, look, I'm here. You go to see Metallica. Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire. Who stop recording now. Enjoy the rest of the Show. Post your 10. Post your 10 seconds on your Instagram story or TikTok remote.

Three singles, max. How about that?

[Covino]

Three, three. You could like. I was at the Mets A's game yesterday. Know what I did? I took a couple pictures of my favorite players in the on deck circle, because we were right there, like, oh, quick picture, picture. And then one time I was like, hey, look at this cool view. Rest of the time, watch the game. We can't deny that people want to take in the moment, but it's fascinating to me when you go to a concert and people are recording four minutes of a song. What are we doing?

[Rich Davis]

You want more proof? The season three White Lotus series, that's very controversial, very polarizing. 50% of the people love it. The other 50, like, hate it. I didn't get it. Which is pretty much our life, right? Can't agree on anything. If the Ratcliffe family in this story, if they would have had their phones on their vacation, the vacation would have been ruined because the storyline goes like. They would have been receiving bad news the entire time had they had their phones. But because the resort made them put their phones away, they didn't even know what was going on. So they were in the moment with each other, having a great time. And again, I'll bring it back to what Danny G. Said. The only reason that you could say you need your phone when you're at a special event or vacation or moment like this is if, for whatever reason, you need to check in on your kid. But then again, we went on for years without that. But that really is the only feeling of like, well, I need it.

[Covino]

It's a crutch. I get it.

[Rich Davis]

For.

[Covino]

For that, God forbid time, something goes.

[Rich Davis]

Wrong and you are needed, you want to be accessible.

[Covino]

But 99.9% of the time, you could.

[Rich Davis]

Have your smartwatch, though.

[Covino]

99.9% of the time,. You are not needed. I promise. Generations went by where mom or dad was gone. You were playing Wiffle Ball a town away. Riding your bike. No one knew where you were. We survived.

[Rich Davis]

You're gonna be fine.

So I think it could start at the dinner table. A lot of people do that already, but incorporate it at a sporting event. You're there. You bought those tickets. What? So you could look through your phone or the concert or whatever, but sporting events, I think that's a really good take. Not just a hot take. I think it's a good take. And you're there. You're in the moment. Enjoy the moment with. With the fans and your friends that you're there with.

Well, I did want to bring up a couple quick things to wrap up this thought, and then we'll move on to some NBA stuff. Number one, I broke my phone about a week ago, before I had a chance to go to the Apple Store and get a new screen replace and everything. I felt lost it for a minute. I felt lost in the sauce, in reality, like, oh, my God. And then after about a half hour or so or an hour, then you start to feel this weird, liberating feeling. And then after a couple hours, you're like, this is not that bad. Someone needs me. I'm a little worried about that. But then you're like, no one really needs me. And very quickly, you realize, wow, you look at your phone every 10 seconds. I went to the Apple Store, Danny. They said, sarah, Yeah, I was some nerd that was very unbusy, but made it seem like, come back in 40 minutes. That 40 minutes, I walked around the mall waiting for the Apple Store to.

[Rich Davis]

Be ready for me, just looking around.

[Covino]

I felt like I was in a foreign land it couldn't be reached, like I was off the grid, like no one can find me. Yeah, it was a weird feeling.

[Rich Davis]

But you said something really interesting there, too. Rich is right. And I'm the biggest culprit, by the way. We're not preaching. We know. We all do this.

[Covino]

We're all guilty.

[Rich Davis]

I do. I look at my phone every 10 seconds. That's misery. Your dog's there barking at you because it just wants your attention, just wants you to pet it. You're looking at your phone, your kids tugging on Your pant leg. You're looking at Paige Sporanec on social media.

[Covino]

Just her tweets. Of course.

[Rich Davis]

Right? Just her tweets.

[Covino]

Tweets. Tweets, yes.

[Rich Davis]

Just making sure. You said tweets. Tweets. You're looking at smut. You're looking at, you know, ridiculous stuff. Be in the moment. That's the reminder. At least try. Let's all make an attempt to be better people. That's all.

Start with sports. Why not?

I love the Thought by Sporanek. Here's the next thing. I want to start a business. And you could say, hey, dummy, this business exists already. But I feel like it's. I don't know why they don't do it more. Okay. How many times do you go to a kid's concert at the school, at the rec center, at the church where your kids are doing some type of performance? And every effing parent, hundreds of parents phone up. They should be like, hey, listen, phones away.

[Rich Davis]

They do that, though.

[Covino]

But it doesn't happen at every school. Let's hire a top level videographer, and for 10 bucks, we'll send you a digital version of this and we'll scan it so everyone's kid gets a little shine. The. It's. I'll be honest. Imagine being a kid, you're on the risers singing a Christmas song, and you look into the crowd, and it's just hundreds of parents, like, oh, with their smartphones up.

I've seen them announce this at some of the school events, Rich. And they're still parents lifting up their phones even though they asked them not to because there was a pro there doing it for everybody.

[Rich Davis]

They do that because it's a money grab too, though, Rich. They're not trying to preach good.

[Covino]

I don't want good habits. I don't want.

[Rich Davis]

If you told me, they then put it on DVD so that everybody could buy. Let me go see Santa. You can take your own photo with Santa, but no, you got to use their service just to get the photo.

[Covino]

No, I got yelled at. You know that I almost got in a fight with Santa. I said, I almost punched Santa Claus once. And I'll tell you how I was told. I said, I'll buy your $80 overpriced package, but can I. I'm gonna take one with my phone, too. And they're like, you can. I'm like, well, I probably can. This is a public. We're in the mall. But okay. And I went to take. They're like, no, Put away your. I must got a fight with an elf. It almost went down.

[Rich Davis]

I'll put my money on the elf.

[Covino]

But point is, put away your phones. Enjoy the concert. And it brings me to one quick meme I saw. And this is not just. It's a real thing. Coach Rabel established his new rules as head coach of the Patriots, and one of the rules has to do with phones. So tell me what you think of Coach Mike Rabel's new policies as the coach of the Patriots. Number one, no hoods up in meetings. And I like this because a lot of young dudes. It's almost like a. You put. If you put your hoodie hood up, you're almost like, sleeping in a way. You know what I'm saying? Like, picture a bunch of dudes in a room or a classroom or a auditorium.

[Rich Davis]

You see, kids do that when it's 95 degrees out in California.

Optically, it doesn't seem engaging. So Coach Raybould rule number one, no hoods up in meetings.

It's interesting, though, because I've never heard that. I've never heard this. So that's a really interesting point that he's making there, because think about it.

You got a bunch of young dudes in their 20s. If you hoods up. I feel like they're hiding headphones underneath. They're really not engaged. Hood down, headphones off. Watch coach. I like that. Number two, be on time. And if you're gonna be late, just call.

[Rich Davis]

Geez. The fact that this is a rule goes to show you how much we're slipping in society.

[Covino]

Be on time.

I thought that was, like, a just a given, especially at that level of professionalism.

[Covino]

But of course, be on time. But if you're gonna be late, a lot of times when someone's not gonna be on time, they just show up late. He's saying, listen, be on time. But if you're not, just.

Is he telling them to brush Their teeth in the morning. Like I thought. That's a given, man. You gotta. You gotta make this an official rule. That's ridiculous.

[Covino]

Treat the training crew, equipment, kitchen staff, and all employees with respect at all times.

Hey, man, I don't find anything wrong with it. But the fact, again, that this is a rule is wild.

[Covino]

You're telling people to treat people with respect, be on time, be engaged. And the last one is no smartphones or cell phones in the meetings or in the weight room.

[Rich Davis]

Meetings or weight room. I mean, I think that's great. And it's a great star. It's like, hey, this is where we're. We're interacting. We're building chemistry. We're a team.

And I like it because it's not over the top either. Kavino. It's not like no smartphones anytime, right? He's setting, like, I think, very reasonable boundaries. So just to show you that if you don't think professional sports and the fan experience has a smartphone problem right now, they absolutely do, without a doubt.

Schools as well, right? We're seeing these rules becoming a thing. We think we're. We're seeing a little bit of a pushback, and I'm all for it.

All right, well, I think, I think that's a conversation in itself. Maybe for another day, but I don't know. The school, the phones in schools, we crutch on the same thing. Like, what if there's an emergency? Guess what? When there was ever an emergency when you were a kid, God forbid, like, you know, grandma got sick, you got called to the office and was like, hey, your mom's on the phone. Like, why are we making it seem like kids. Kids don't need their cell phones in school. You don't need your cell phone or smartphone at the masters at a comedy event or the ball game. We're addicted, everyone. The end.

Mike said the problem is that no one really knows how to behave in the social media smartphone era. We're almost sort of establishing the rules as we go along. And that is. That's a great point. Like, this is all uncharted territory. It's like, took us a long time.

Online bullying, AI. When new things come into our lives, we're trying to figure out, like, all right, what are the rules on this? And I think we're realizing, yeah, maybe you shouldn't have your phone out everywhere you go. I agree. Dinner table.

Nothing ruder.

Imagine being a single person on a date. And while you're trying to engage and meet Someone new every 10 seconds, they're looking at their phone.

Barf. Yeah, no bueno.

Imagine you're trying to actually connect with your family and your teenage kids. Don't put down their iPad or smartphone the whole time. Like, come on.

[Rich Davis]

If you see the footage and the highlights from the Masters this weekend, of course you see McElroy in tears. He. Well, tears of joy. He just won 4point something million dollars right in his first green jacket. But you also see everyone in the crowd. It was one guy with a nail on his head.

[Covino]

No, that was Happy Gilmore.

[Rich Davis]

That was Happy Gilmore. There was one guy who was like, you jackass.

[Covino]

No, the William goes. That's Mr. McElroy's jacket. Oh, wait, no.

[Steve Kerr]

Can I ask you? Because I don't know how this worked at the Masters, but a lot of sporting events you have to show the ticket on your phone to get in. And then also at sporting events, a lot of people pay with their phone.

Oh, I don't know.

One other hurdle there.

I mean, I don't know. They figured it out, though. So you see everyone there at the Masters, none of the fans have their phone out. There was no phones at this event, which means people actually bonded and enjoyed the moment together. How nice is that? How great is that?

Imagine you were so addicted to your phone, you smuggled it up like. Like, you just say, like you would. You needed it that bad. You're like, I don't have my phone. Like, come on with that. Addicted. I'm sure people would do that.

The fact you're thinking about that is odd to me.

And you're the only guy who's sober because everyone's been there partying the whole time. But you feel like, I got an edge on everybody because I'm sharp and everyone's acting like an idiot. That's how he must feel, walking around looking at everybody like zombies. Like, I got one on everybody because I'm in the moment. I'm in the zone, I'm sharp, and everyone else here is brain dead on Instagram.

Everyone. Here's the. I'll give you the rub, because there's going to be two sides to all this, right? Here's the rub. If you're like our pal Ryan too much and you're flip phone. I don't even have a flip phone.

I think that is a decent idea. It's not the worst idea. You're just judging it because it looks like, what are you, from the early 1900s?

Break out your bootcut genes, buddy. What, do you have a MySpace page, too? No, but when you have, like, I just got a flip phone, I don't engage in that stuff. You very quickly become out of the loop guy. And I'll tell you how I know this. There are days where, believe it or not, I'm busy doing stuff where I don't have my phone on me, meaning I'm coaching my kids. And sometimes, like, hours will go by and you'll miss something, and then later that day, I'll be like, yo, what's up? Kavino's like, how did you not see this? And I'm like, you're. We're so into the. Have you seen. Wait, you haven't seen that meme. You haven't seen this. Oh, you don't know that story. You don't. You haven't seen that highlight.

Oh, I thought the one you play on. I was like, dude, your team can't be that competitive then.

Yeah, I play on 8U girls softball. I'm like, kramer, when he did karate. So there's this cute little girl on my team that you coach who's a beginner. Okay? Like, she's the newbie to the team. And she got her first hit. Like, first time she made contact off of coach pitch or kid pitch? I'm like, yeah, you go. I look in the stands. No, s. Her mom's on her phone and missed it. And I'm like, your daughter's up in. In Kids, sports, how often Kavino, think about you.

That's miserable.

You watch your nephew James?

Yeah.

You go to his game every Saturday, right?

What does he get up every two, three innings.

One of y'all biggest fans, too. Rest in peace, Uncle Pepito. But this is a perfect example, man. At the viewing, one of my aunties, not his wife, but one of my aunties, during the eulogy, we're all blubbering, you know, saying our goodbyes. Whips out her cell phone and records everybody crying. Getting a little. Getting a little flustered, but everybody crying. Everybody saying bye to our uncle. And then post it and tags all of us. Like, it was just the greatest thing.

Sean, that's. I'm so. By the way, Sean, I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle.

Yeah, rest in peace, Uncle Pepito.

And yeah, Sean, you know, it's even more. More sad when you see some of these services. I think it's, you know, I get it. People grieve in different ways. I think it's sort of disgusting when I see people post videos of like at a coffin.

It's tacky.

And I also think it's tacky when it's like grandma's real sick and like the old disheveled version of her in the hospital bed where it's like, hey, I can't. Like, do you think she wants 95 year old version of her in the hospital bed?

Those are supposed to be private moments.

Like when people post selfies. I get it. Everyone has a different way of grieving and accepting. But I'm like, guess what? I'm gonna tell the message now on national airwave. So when I'm all, hey, kids, I'm talking to my son and daughter, Ben and Emmy. If I live a Nice long life to, like, 90 something. Don't you post anything when I'm sitting in a hospital bed when I'm 95. All right. Thank you.

Yeah. And be in after you soiled yourself.

You'd probably want those teams to face later on Steph LeBron. These guys have only so many runs left in them, right? So the fact that the warriors lost yesterday, I sort of like this because that means we don't have to get those two teams in the first round together. But we'll go over the playoff picture. We'll go over the playing games. But again, a couple LeBron thoughts, and I think you and I are going to disagree on all of them, which is so typical.

Boots Ennis looking like the Sugar Ray Leonard of our generation. Some great fights. Basketball heating up. LeBron James in the news.

A couple reasons. First off, that Ken doll, he's a Ken Bassetter. It's a hot item.

Oh, that's not going to lie.

One of those Ken Barbie dolls.

Dude. One of the stories, we actually talked about it last week, the new LeBron James Barbie doll. It's called Lecan, or he called it Lecan jokingly, but it's a LeBron James Barbie doll. And he's a kinbassador because, you know, it's an honor because of what he does for the community and his style and his professionalism and his status as a NBA legend. And when they released it, you see how good it looks. It looks really good. It's like, wow, that's a really cool action figure doll, if you will. But over the weekend, Rich, it caused a lot of stir because there was a lot of people online fighting for these things. And you said you wanted one. I thought that was wild.

Equal number of people making fun of it. And to that I say Barbie is one of the biggest brands in toys and action figures and dolls. Listen, every little girl and some boys have Barbie dolls. My daughter has a ton of Barbies. So if other than Ken, if you're telling me LeBron James is the guy that gets his own doll for that.

[Rich Davis]

Brand, a very detailed doll too. And I look cool.

[Covino]

Yeah, I don't think it was. It wasn't done incorrectly in any way. In fact, you're right, it makes him look cool. They have him dressed well, looking cool. And I think it's an honor for LeBron James, so.

Absolutely Merse.

He's got the little like fanny pack over the chest bag.

Why can't we just think of it guys as like a little G.I. joe doll? I mean, same build, you know.

[Rich Davis]

Well, the old original GI Joes were about that size.

Yeah. So it's just like, it's a LeBron Joe doll club.

[Rich Davis]

I listen, I don't think there's anything corny about that. We could put that debate to rest. That's an honor. And it's a good looking doll. It just goes to show you how big he is. He's, he's, he's part of the Barbie world now. That's wild.

[Covino]

Every other athlete just has like a Funko pop or a starting Lineup back.

[Rich Davis]

In the day, I have a Funko pop, so you see what I mean? Like, this is next level. So props to him. And I like that he's leaning into that honor. So the LeBron doll, people debating if it's lame, if it's cool. Rich actually wants one. Now, that's a little, little much. If you were saying for your daughter, I'd say I'm not one.

[Covino]

I'm not much of a collector of stuff like this, but I feel like it's one of those things that you get, and I think one day it's gonna be like one of those hot, hot items. Because I know it's a limited, limited edition, you know, it' action figures and dolls I collected in my life when I was true. When I was a kid, I had all those. Remember the big rubber wrestling figures that you could kill your sibling with because they were so heavy?

[Rich Davis]

Yeah.

[Covino]

You throw the big John stud at your sibling and give him a concussion. Yeah, I had those at he man toys. And that's where I ended. So for me to say, oh, and I had my Gary Carter and Dwight good in starting lineups. I'm not a collector of these things, but I think the LeBron Danny G. You wanted Barbie doll is a collector's item.

[Rich Davis]

Danny G. Is a big Lakers guy.

[Steve Kerr]

So I would put one on my memorabilia shelf.

[Rich Davis]

You're asking Santa for one this year?

[Steve Kerr]

No, Danny. You buy one for your son, then.

You'Re like, oh, where'd that go?

Ended up in my collection.

If you get one, if Danny, if you get one in your Easter basket, you're gonna be the luckiest little boy in LA.

You know, some were signed by LeBron, making them even more valuable.

Guys in the Fairfax district here in LA that were lined up for like, you know, hundreds of feet deep to get one of these, and some were signed.

Well, that was the big story. Like, there was. There was lines around the block for these things. So that's part one.

Now, do these dolls have movable joints? Because, you know, did you see LeBron on the floor in his final regular season game?

[Covino]

It doesn't have flopping action, the doll? No.

[Steve Kerr]

How about pulled groins?

Well, the other story is how Isaiah Thomas went off on LeBron James, because LeBron James was taking warm ups, just practicing with no shirt on. Here's what NBA legend Isaiah Thomas said about it.

I just totally, 100% object to this. And if I was the GM or coach, me too. I would never let one of my players walk out on the floor looking like this. I mean, we are professional NBA league. We ain't summer league. We ain't, we ain't, you know, at the ymca. Listen, I think coaches gotta go back to suits. Absa. I just mean absolutely. You know, I just think college and pro, I just think the professionalism in our NBA league has diminished so much. And Look, I like LeBron, I'm a fan of his, so forth and so on. But to walk out on the floor before a game with no shirt on and shoot, I mean, come on, man, this where we at, what we doing, where we at now? If you want to. Adam Silver, if you want to find somebody, find that.

Now I have my thoughts on what you guys to think about at Fox Sports Radio Nation. You probably saw the highlights throughout the weekend. He's just on the court with his sweatpants, no shirt. You may have heard this clip. What are your thoughts on this? Because I'll tell you what, I have my thoughts. But he did seem a little angry about it. Like oddly angry about it.

[Covino]

Isaiah Thomas must have this thing where he wants to anger legends. Remember like the decades long beef with him and Michael Jordan. Now he's, is he trying to start something with LeBron? He goes, I like LeBron. This sounds like, you know, in relationships, what do they say in a marriage or in a dating scenario, Pick your battles. Slow news day. Isaiah Thomas, you had nothing to talk about on your podcast or whatever he was doing because LeBron James shooting warm ups without a shirt on, I see zero problem with. I can't imagine how someone would have a problem with it. Sometimes when you, sometimes when you look for a problem, you can find a problem anywhere. It's like if you go through someone's phone, you'll find something. I feel like Isaiah Thomas is trying to find something to be mad at.

[Rich Davis]

Well, we don't often see that, so it does stand out. This is the NBA. Where do you see that? At the playground or the ymca?

And by the way, he's chiseled, are people jealous?
