The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. Former Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim will join us momentarily. But joining us now, the man of the hour or hours. He is the man who is the second most points in NBA history in a game. Bam Adebayo joining us on the program. Bam, thanks for joining us. What part of your body hurt the Most after the 83 point game?
Caller
Oh,
Bam Adebayo
the arms for sure.
Jim Boeheim
Just the shoulder from shooting.
Dan Patrick
Yes. You gotta ice down the shoulder like a pitcher does after, you know, throwing seven innings.
Bam Adebayo
Yeah. Had to get in the ice bath and really,
Dan Patrick
what did you think pre game? Did you think anything pre game differently than any other game you've had in your career?
Bam Adebayo
I knew we needed to win that game because we've been in this playing situation for the last three, four years. And going into the game, you know, we got most of our starters out. Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell, Tyler Hero, Khalil Ware. So it's only two starters in our bench mob, basically. And we know how those games can get because we're the Miami Heat. We've beaten the number one teams in both conferences, but we also, we've also lost to both of the worst teams in both conferences. So you can see how that game can be tricky for us. And we just needed to win.
Dan Patrick
Why does it feel like people want you to apologize for scoring 83 points?
Bam Adebayo
Probably because I wasn't, I wasn't part of the agenda. You know, it wasn't, it shocked the world because it wasn't somebody who they glorify as a score as somebody who can get that record. And I feel like that's what shook the world. And also they're going to say that I shot X amount of free throws.
Dan Patrick
But once you realized that they were going to foul you, that that became the offense, you're just like, they're gonna foul me. So I'm, I'm gonna take advantage of this.
Bam Adebayo
It wasn't even. They were gonna foul me. It was more so like, I'm being aggressive. I'm trying to get, I'm trying to, I'm trying to score buckets. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get buckets. It's not. And they just kept following me. Like I said, there were no other of my starters out there, so it was just me.
Dan Patrick
When you got to 81, what were you thinking?
Bam Adebayo
I gotta make these next two free throws because if I Miss them myself,
Dan Patrick
but no thought of Kobe, who was one of your idols. Did you ever think of stopping at 81?
Jim Boeheim
No.
Bam Adebayo
Because I know if it was the other way around, Kobe would have been like, I'm shooting for whatever I can like. And to be in the conversation as your idol is what, to me makes. Gives me one of those things where I'm appreciative of it because it's. My idol is somebody who. I grew up watching the game. Like, I grew up watching him, like, understanding what he stood for. And that man was. He will tell you, I'm chasing Jordan. Whatever record he's trying to get, I'm trying to break it. And obviously, you know, I. I got the opportunity to do that.
Dan Patrick
And I think because people love Kobe so much, that bothered them more that who were you to do that to our Kobe? And here he is, your idol. And I just. And you're right. There's no way Kobe would say, hey, you got to 80 one stop. He'd be like, no, keep going. Go for 90 if you can. I mean, that was his mentality.
Bam Adebayo
Exactly. And like I said, if the dead could talk, I would. I firmly believe he'd be like, congratulations, young fella. Like, you did something I thought nobody could. Could even reach for the next 40, 50 years.
Dan Patrick
You remember the first time you met Kobe?
Bam Adebayo
Never met him. That is the other thing.
Dan Patrick
Never met him.
Bam Adebayo
Never met him. So that is. That is another reason why it's so special to me, because I never got to meet him. Like, the one time I thought I was gonna meet him was. It was my first all Star. I was like, if I make all Star this year, I might get to meet Kobe. And then obviously, the. The tragedy happened. And I remember where I was. I remember just sitting there and just started crying because I was like. Like, I was like, bro, like, you know, from. From a. From player standpoint, you know how we all appreciate that man for what he's done for the game, for. For what he's done for people's mentality. To him, creating a mama mentality was like, keep pushing forward. So I was heartbroken because I was like, I really wanted to meet my idol at some point.
Dan Patrick
Talking to Bam out of bio. Fresh off 83 point performance. Well, I mean, last night, you only got 21. I mean, what happened?
Bam Adebayo
Trying to figure out how you can redo something like that. That's hard to. It's hard to keep up. And nobody talks about next game. Because it's funny, because when I go back and look at what he did afterwards. He also had the same type of game. Like, it was. Like, it wasn't 81.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, he had 30. How important was it to have your mom there, man?
Bam Adebayo
To have my mom there, to have my people there, to do it at home, in front of our home crowd, It's a moment none of us will ever forget. And to be there, to be in the building, to have my mom there, like I said, like, she's my pride. Endure a lot of this. I do for her and for her to see that her son put himself in history. I know she's full of joy, and that's something she'll always talk about.
Dan Patrick
What does your girlfriend do better than you on the basketball floor? Asia Wilson?
Bam Adebayo
Everything. Everything. You know, she can do literally anything. And also, having her in the building was special because she was mad because I got my 10, 000 points while she was on her tour. And obviously, to do that while she's sitting courtside was a special moment for us.
Dan Patrick
I think her career high is 53.
Bam Adebayo
That's a lot of buckets still.
Dan Patrick
But, like, let's be honest. I think I could get. I think I get 10 points off the Wizards.
Bam Adebayo
Listen, like I said, everybody wants to be mad at me, be mad at their coach for. For not doubling me when I had 30 and a quarter.
Dan Patrick
You know, my. My problem with this, and I keep telling people in my audience, you had 60 after three quarters, nobody was complaining about how you were playing or they were playing. Then all of a sudden, it's like, oh, you know, he's embarrassing, or they're embarrassing the game. I said, what happened the first three quarters when you put up, what, 64 points? I mean, that's what people have to. You know, let's look at the entire game, not just the last five minutes, where it got a little silly or got out of hand. How do you respond?
Bam Adebayo
And also, their coach started following my teammates, so I couldn't. I couldn't shoot free throws. So it wasn't like. It was just like, oh, the Miami Heat are just the game away. That's not what it was. It was also them being like, in order for bam not to get this record, we're just going to file. His other teammates when they touch the ball. That's unethical. Basketball to me is like, whatever y' all want to call it, but, yeah, people are gonna try to. What I did out there was special to me. And everybody who knows, like, how hard I work behind the scenes, like, to see me put on that type of
Jim Boeheim
performance
Bam Adebayo
to have 64¾ is insane. And the thing that people forget, like, they cut the lead to like 11 in the fourth quarter. So it wasn't like we were up 30 the whole quarter where everybody's just saying, oh, they were up 30. No, they cut the lead to like 13 to 11 at one point in the fourth quarter. So I had to play. And because nobody watches us until that moment, we've had 20 point leads in the fourth quarter and lost the game. What do y' all want us to do?
Dan Patrick
The uniform go to the hall of Fame?
Bam Adebayo
Not yet. It's on the way, though. It hasn't got there yet.
Dan Patrick
Wait, what are you. What are you waiting for?
Bam Adebayo
I mean, I got. I gotta ship it, Dan. I mean, what you want me to do? We still got the game. Play
Dan Patrick
you can. That's not a big deal. You got people. You got people who have people who can do this for you. Don't give it back.
Bam Adebayo
You're right.
Dan Patrick
Right.
Bam Adebayo
It was just a special moment.
Dan Patrick
By the way, I have Kobe autograph jersey, and I have your autograph jersey.
Bam Adebayo
Really?
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yep. Yep. Didn't even know yours.
Jim Boeheim
What?
Dan Patrick
You didn't know if I knew who you were?
Jim Boeheim
Yeah, man.
Bam Adebayo
You know,
Dan Patrick
bam, I'm a baller.
Bam Adebayo
What's your career hot then?
Dan Patrick
36.
Bam Adebayo
Listen, it's a lot of people. I credit that. It's a lot of people that's never scored 36 before.
Dan Patrick
But that was before the three point shot, so let's tack on 14 more. So probably a 50 burger.
Bam Adebayo
I respect it.
Dan Patrick
I'm kind of. I was kind of like Tyler hero before. Tyler hero.
Bam Adebayo
Oh, you were a bucket getter, huh?
Dan Patrick
Yep, that's what I was. Yep, that's what the ladies called me. Bucket getter.
Bam Adebayo
Bucket getter.
Netflix Sports Announcer
All right. Okay, then
Dan Patrick
don't leave me open. Bam. That's all I'm gonna say. Do not leave me open. Problem is I couldn't get open. But if you did leave me open, I was gonna make it. I'm not gonna pass. I'm not playing defense. I'm just letting you know.
Bam Adebayo
Okay. Okay.
Dan Patrick
Yes. That's it. That's all I'm gonna do. How mad is Tyler Hero that you got the record and, you know, that seemed like he would be a guy who would be able to get 83. He's got to be upset.
Bam Adebayo
Honestly, man, I think all my teammates was happy for me because, like I said, performances that we as the Miami, he haven't seen. Like, as much as we want to talk about all the greats that's been there. Like it was something that, like, people weren't prepared for.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Bam Adebayo
And, and that's why I think a lot of, like I said, I think a lot of people are shocked by it because I wasn't the quote unquote anointed one where they was like, he can be the one to do it.
Dan Patrick
By the way, you play the Wizards April 4,
Bam Adebayo
I probably will get triple team when I touch the ball. That probably will happen.
Dan Patrick
You know what? You could get 50 against the Wizards the next time and it might be a subpar performance.
Bam Adebayo
Yeah, people are going to call me trash If I get 50.
Dan Patrick
Proud, man. I be proud. You have every right to be proud. And it was an incredible performance. And I don't care who you surpassed, you still put up 83. And you're right, Kobe probably say, you go, man, you go. Don't stop at 83. But congrats, I appreciate that.
Bam Adebayo
Damn, man. Congrats on your 36 too, with no three point line.
Dan Patrick
Thank you. 36.
Bam Adebayo
No three point line is a lot of buckets.
Jim Boeheim
Yeah, that's tough.
Dan Patrick
32 minute game. So I'm basically more than a point a minute.
Bam Adebayo
Listen, you're in the history book, Stan. Listen, I'm rooting for you. You're in the history.
Dan Patrick
This, this is about you. It's not about me any other day, any other week. It's about me. This, this is about you. But congratulations, us. Thank you. Bam.
Bam Adebayo
Thank you.
Dan Patrick
That's Bam Adebayo. That's just two great scores talking right there. That's what that is. You know, got a good approach, you know, be proud of it. You know, they're just going to be people, you know, it's that social media, of course they're going to come after him a little bit. Alrighty. We go from a guy who was in a good mood to a guy that I never know if he's in a good mood. Jim Boeheim. We'll talk some college basketball with him coming up next. This is the Dan Patrick Show.

Sit back and relax, which is what we thought Jim Boeheim was going to be doing in retirement. Lo and behold, part of the ACC network covering the ACC tournament. Coach, good to see you again. Look at you. A little tan there. Look well rested.
Jim Boeheim
Yeah, that's left leftover makeup. And also I was home retired for a week and Julie said, no, no, you need to get a job one week. I mean, I made it a week.
Dan Patrick
We just had Bam out of bio on after scoring 83. What do you make of that performance?
Jim Boeheim
Yeah, I mean, he's a really good player. Probably one of the, the not in the top 50 to ever score 83 points. But, you know, you get things going. These are, these are all great players up there. And you know, I'm convinced that Jokic, you know, he gets 40 with 15 assists. I mean, if he wanted to score 80, I think he could. I think maybe Shea could. But you know, those guys, they. They do other stuff too. I mean, it's great to see that. Those performances are great to see. I remember watching kobe get the 83
Dan Patrick
and thinking, is that housekeeping?
Jim Boeheim
I forgot to do not disturb sign. And you know that kind of story a little bit. It's extra. It's a little extra for our show here, you know, we get an extra
Dan Patrick
about a 20 second timeout. You could tell her to come back.
Jim Boeheim
They went away.
Dan Patrick
They're good. All right. How much green light did Carmelo have?
Jim Boeheim
You know, pretty much whenever he would not take bad shots. So he pretty much had it. Jerry McNamara pretty much had it. The guys that can really shoot, you want them to shoot. You want them to feel comfortable shooting. I think that's one thing Rick Pitino does, is being the great coach he is. He gives his players the freedom to play offense. You want them to have that freedom. Not everybody can get that freedom, but the guys that should and usually the players on the team know that anyway. Except that. But yeah, Carmelo could shoot when he. As long as he was on the court, he could shoot. Yeah, someplace.
Dan Patrick
Speaking of Jerry McNamara, you're going to campaign for him to take over at Syracuse?
Jim Boeheim
Well, I'm not the athletic director. We have a new athletic director who I think is really good and I think he'll make a good decision. I think it's a good job. I think there's good candidates. Jerry went from 4 and 28 program at Sienna to the NCAA tournament his second year with two of his best players out for the year. So, I mean, yeah, he's a candidate for any job in the country, but that's up to the athletic director and I do have a little office there. It's not. It's kind of hidden someplace, kind of next to the closet. But, you know, I hope he'll get consideration. They'll come up with the best candidate. It doesn't have to be a Syracuse guy or non Syracuse guy. It has to be who's the best. Who's the best coach that can help us. And obviously Adrian, you know, did as good a job as he could. I mean, you have to have nil money. If you look at the ACC or any league in the country, the top four teams have the most nil money. That's in their good coaches, too. But they have nil money and you have to get there. In this day and age, I don't think it'll change anytime soon. But that's the bottom line. Syracuse will get a really good basketball coach, I believe.
Dan Patrick
What kind of money do you need to compete at the top of the ACC?
Jim Boeheim
10 million. 10 million. Basketball is. I mean, you could do it with eight or something. Maybe if you get lucky also, you could have 10 and not do it. There's programs that have 10 and don't do it. There's programs that HAVE spent 15 or 20 and are not doing well. I mean, you still gotta coach, you still gotta get the right players. Indiana's the greatest example, Indiana football of, you know, a great coach, getting the right guys, not all four stars, but, you know, good players and get them into a system. Vanderbilt basketball, same thing, did a great job this year. And it's. They got the money, they have a good coach. It's, it's. It can be done and it can. The good thing about you do it in one year and, you know, everybody criticizes the portal. And obviously there's a lot not to like about the Portland nil, but there's 40 Europeans over here who are really good players because of NIL. There's 40 seniors that are staying in college because of NIL. So you look at the product out there, it's good basketball. This is the best basketball has been in a while really since the portal opened when it was all guys leaving early. Guys aren't leaving early anymore because they know they're, they're not going to get the chance they'll be in the G league or something. So that's helped college basketball. It'd be better if we, we get to the point we have a salary cap, we have contracts and you know, all that stuff that's going to happen, you know, and you need some kind of cap. They have it in the pro leagues and we're a pro league. It's pro basketball, pro basketball, pro football. College is pro sports. I mean, I'm hearing soccer players, a volleyball player got $300,000 someplace. Who, where did we, you know, in the beginning we thought that that would be the total amount of money your whole team would get. Maybe a couple hundred thousand. But it obviously when you get boosters involved, they want to win. And the boosters with big money, it's, it's a drop in the bucket for some of them. So we are where we're at. But we got a great game as far as on the court. I mean, Florida State gave Duke everything they wanted last night. Probably could have won easily or not easily, but they could have won. And you know, we had a great game with North Carolina coming back and you know, I mean we've had great games in the tournament. And I think that's a reflection of what's going to happen in the NCAA tournament. And by the way, Miami Ohio is got to be in the tournament. I mean people that are talking about that are just crazy though. They wouldn't be at the top of a conference, but they could be in the mix in a conference. But that's not the point. They won 31 straight games. I saw him play eight times. I doubt if there's any coach or any pundit out there who saw Miami Ohio play eight times and they have a good team. Are they going to beat Florida? No. I mean they're not beating for those days are over. That good mid major school is not going to the final Four unless something just crazy happens. The teams at the top are just, they're just too good.
Dan Patrick
Talking to Jim Boeheim, of course, hall of Famer and he's working with the ACC network. The role of a coach now compared to 10 years ago.
Jim Boeheim
Well, it's, it's completely different. You have to Recruit the players. And you have to figure out your salary structure, how much money you have for each player and who you can get, who you can't get. And some of that's a guessing game. Agents will tell you this, my players worth a million dollars. He can get a million dollars over here. Well, he can't. I mean, but you don't know that, you know, so you have to kind of guess and plan. And then once you get your team, the good news is you have summers now to kind of get them ready so you can get a completely new group ready. You know, Ryan Odom at which is Virginia, all new players, they're in the top 10, 15 in the country. Arizona mostly all new play. Not all, but mostly new. You look around Michigan mostly all new. So, yeah, you can put a team together. And I laugh a little bit when fans sometimes say, well, I don't know the players. So I don't know if I like that. Well, if the players come in at whatever school and when the fans will like the team, you know, Virginia's fans were all here. You know, why are they. They didn't know any of these guys last year. But they're winning in sports, Dan. As you know, in broadcasting, you win, you keep your job and you know, that's the bottom line. And fans will come to games if you win. But yeah, that's where we are in college basketball. And you know, but we need to get some structure. But a coach has to make sure he can do that. And then obviously he's got to put your team together and coaches can do that. I mean, it's. We used to have a couple veterans returning, but some years we only had one or two veterans and three or four new players. I got lucky and won a national championship with two freshmen being the two best players on the team. Now freshmen can't. Except for that rare 10, this is an unbelievable freshman class. But a normal freshman class, there's probably five or six guys that could really help right away. The rest are not ready to go against seniors. So transfer portal seniors. But this freshman class is. I don't rate them that much. I don't study. But it's got to be as good as any I can remember in terms of talent. I mean, it's incredible.
Dan Patrick
Class, you still in favor of expanding the tournament to 96 teams?
Jim Boeheim
I'll just explain this one more time. It doesn't have to be 96, but we can go to another two sites like Dayton. Go to two more sites and you get done the same time frame. And you can have the teams playing closer to home. And you have to remember there's two things that are important. Number one, we don't have the best 68 teams in the field, all right? We have automatic qualifiers who are not in the best 68 in the country. So you're leaving out teams that are the top 50 or so in the country with the system we have now, I'm not saying those teams shouldn't be in. They should. Let's. Let's let them go. They're not going to win anymore, but let them in. But you add 6, 8, 10, whatever number it is, you make 10 or 12 fan bases happy. You make 12 players happy. And you make coaches secure in their job if they're in the NCAA tournament, whether it's expanded or not. And unless you're at, you know, a couple places, but you're. You're in the tournament and what have you lost? After one week, you have a better field than you had before because the weaker teams are all going to be out, the better teams are going to be in. And you haven't diluted the tournament. You've made the tournament better because you have better teams in the tournament and more players and more fans and more coaches are in the tournament. What's to not like about that? Hey, I remember John Wooden as a great coach, a great man. He wanted the tournament to stay at 24, and he knew what he was doing, right? But they went to 48, tournament got better, right? The tournament went 64, tournament got better, right? Tournament's at 68. Tournament's still getting better. It's not going to get worse. And you're going to add teams, players who are good. I mean, we got in one year, we were the last team in. We could have been the first team out easily. We went to the Final Four. So there are teams that are going to get left out, that could get going. I mean, Florida State's not going to get in the tour. They don't deserve it. But if they played a little better earlier, they can beat it. Their coach said it. We can beat anybody in the country. I think he's right. They're really playing good. But that's my feelings. I. I don't think if you really think it through, you can argue that the people that say, oh, we can't expand it, they say, well, it's going to dilute the tournament. No, it is. They say, well, you know, bad teams will get it. No, they won't. They'll be good. They won't be Great, but they'll be good. And the best teams are still going to win at the end. And I think you have another Dayton weekend, you know, during the week, someplace you can watch tv. There is no reason not to have it. And I know almost 60, 70% of the media is against expanding it. Well, if it was still at 24, most of those guys wouldn't have a job.
Dan Patrick
It's rare when you have make a good point, but you did. You made a very good point there.
Jim Boeheim
I haven't made a good point at home in years, so I'm glad to make money here.
Dan Patrick
Before I let you go, why isn't Sonny Vaccaro in the Basketball hall of Fame as a contributor to the game?
Jim Boeheim
You know, he's an unbelievable contributor to the game, but he's not getting all famous. Just. There's too much around him. He's a good guy, good man. I know him very well. I was making no money at Syracuse, and Nike gave me money. Free shoes for all the players, as many as they wanted. We were paying for shoes. Free uniforms, free gear, free bags. They gave us all that. And it helped us. It helped all of us. And one of the reasons I stayed at Syracuse so long is because of Nike and what they did for me personally. I didn't have to get as much from the school, but he. He got that going. It was him. The movie is pretty good. He. He did it. He got all these schools, all these coaches, free stuff, money, all that stuff that the schools didn't have to provide. I mean, there's. It's a win. Win. I remember. I remember somebody asked me once, don't you feel bad, you know, taking my. No. My players love Nike. Now, if the players didn't like the sneakers, that would have been a problem, but they all liked it. They all wanted to wear Nikes. And we got. They got 10 pairs. I paid for my second pair of shoes when I played at surgery. I paid for it. Well, I did. My father did. You know, that's what we got, one pair of shoes for the year. And, you know, that was it. Now the players get all this stuff, and who's to. Who wants to argue about that? I mean, I sent Phil Knight a ring, national championship ring. To be honest with you, I'm proud to say it. He allowed me to stay at Syracuse. So, yeah, I mean, studying for Carroll did a lot of that. I mean, it was him. He. Phil Knight let it happen and backed it. But Sonny Beccaro did that, and he was great with youth basketball, getting kids seen The Nike camp, All American camp. That's where you saw all these players. And you got to recruit nationwide because you didn't have to go to California to see a kid. You go to wherever Sonny was having this camp. We saw Stevie Thompson there. We saw the Ron Ellis. We saw all these guys. So we never recruited those guys. It wasn't for Sonny Vaquero and his camp. All the best players in the country. I mean, I saw LeBron James play against Carmelo and all this. These guys in one place on one plane ticket. Instead of going to 30 different places to see the 30 players I needed to see, I could see them all in one, one weekend. And so, I mean, he did a lot for the game. I personally think he's a really, really great person who has been great for players and coaches. And there's really no negative with Sonny for me that I've ever seen. And he. He's had a huge influence on the game of basketball. It's hard to get in the hall of Fame. There's so many constituencies that make up to get seven, eight guys, pros, college. I know, I know high school coaches that should be in, you know, Gary. Gary McKnight at Modern Day. I mean, there's a number of high school coaches. Herman Harida played for me. He's one about five state championships in Baltimore. I mean, there's a lot of. But, you know, there's so many people that have to get in the hall of Fame. And Jerry Collagen has done a great job keeping the hall of Fame going. We're fortunate to have him. And I'm fortunate because he got me three gold medals in the Olympics along with Mike Krzyzewski, which was. There's no experience like coaching your national team to an Olympic gold medal. Standing there and hearing the national anthem. There is nothing like that. Standing next to Kobe Bryant, LeBron and Dwyane Wade, Carmelo and all those guys. That's a feeling you can't get in life normally.
Dan Patrick
Have fun at the tournament. My best, your wife. And thanks again for joining us, Coach.
Jim Boeheim
Thanks. And you know what? We're still here. It's a miracle we're still here and working, both of us.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Well, what's the bigger surprise, me or you?
Ben Walter
It's.
Jim Boeheim
It's a toss up. It's a toss up. I'll give you a little edge. I'll give you a little edge.
Dan Patrick
Would you turn 80?
Jim Boeheim
81 ticket. The lady said to me, young lady said, you're not 65, are you? I said, no, I'm not 65. I'm 81. She didn't want to give me a senior discount.
Dan Patrick
You could pass for 79. I swear, you could pass for 79 years.
Jim Boeheim
A flight attendant told me the other day, one was nice and the other one said, well, you don't look over 90. So it's in the eye of the beholder. You know, that's about if you wanted
Dan Patrick
this abuse, you could have stayed at home. You didn't need to go out and have somebody else. Thank you again, coach. Thanks to that, said Jim Behan, hall of Famer, always good to reminisce. He looked healthy, 81 years of age and seemed in good spirits. That happens when you're not coaching anymore. You know, when you get to be a talking hairdo wearing makeup, it's like, don't have that anymore. All right, last call for phone calls. What we learn what's in store on Monday and of course, a meet Friday that'll be unveiled. If you're watching on Peacock and NBC Sports Network, we're back after this.

Ah, what a week. Yeah. We still have USA versus Canada coming up tonight. Big weekend, college basketball and free agency closing up shop. We'll get some phone calls here. Jay Billis will get us ready to fill out our brackets on Monday and more from the Academy Awards. Kevin Frazier and Michelle Turner, as they do. As tradition would have it, they will join us to recap the Academy Awards. I thought Dylan did a wonderful job with the menu, especially the Dino nugget volcano that had a mashed potato volcano with gravy lava. You also have the chicken fingers, SpongeBob Mac and Cheese, cut up hot dogs and sippy cups with chocolate milk in it. Who has it better than we do?
Jim Boeheim
Nobody.
Dan Patrick
It didn't sound that enthusiastic. Stat of the DAY has been brought to you by Panini America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. David in Ohio. Hi, David. Thanks for holding. What's on your mind today?
Caller
Hey, Dan, I ran something by my home office about you might turn the man cave into an Airbnb. Wasn't sure if you still were maybe gonna do that and that was it.
Dan Patrick
Oh, I don't, I don't know. I just kind of threw it out. My wife wondered what am I going to do? Because she said you can't bring all that memorabilia back in the house But I don't know if I can use it as a museum. Or maybe it's a Airbnb where you get to come in and spend a couple of days, get to practice being broadcasters, get to shoot hoops. You can grill out if you want to pinball. Got a open bar. Sounds like a pretty good gig the next two years. Edward in El Paso. Hi, Edward. What's on your mind today?
Caller
Hey, Dan. I just. Dylan sent me an advanced copy of next Friday's menu. I don't know if you've seen it. It's a Mediterranean menu. You start off with Maserin, which is a stuffed cow intestine with the rice and meat. Then Kibine, which is a raw lamb and rice dish. I mean a ram lemon wheat dish. And then harisi, which is like a chicken stew, which is really good.
Dan Patrick
Well, thank you, Edward. Probably won't be on the menu next week, but thank you for the suggestions, Mark. And St. Cloud is back. Hi, Mark.
Caller
Hey, Dan. First of all, I got a little depressed. There are guys talking about the end of the show and I want to miss you. And we need to enjoy you guys
Dan Patrick
while we have you.
Caller
First of all, I got a poll question. It was supposed to be for hour three, but it's gonna have to wait till next week. Who is Fritz even meaner to Ross Tucker or Nick Wright? And Syracuse basketball, the big fan. Not good.
Dan Patrick
No. And I wonder, you know, Jerry McNamara did a wonderful job at Sienna, as Coach Beheim pointed out. I think they went from four wins to the NCAA tournament and there'll be other schools that'll look at him, but you would think that two hour drive to Syracuse, that would make a lot of sense. By the way, the top selling jerseys in the NBA. Guys want to take a guess? Number one, Marvin. Number one selling jersey right now in the NBA.
NBA Jersey Analyst
Victor Wembanyama.
Dan Patrick
Victor Wembanyama. Fourth. Wow. Good guess though. Fourth guess. Fourth place. Steph Curry is one. Luca, two. Jalen Brunson, three.
NBA Jersey Analyst
New York market.
Dan Patrick
LeBron five. Anthony Edwards, six. SGA is seventh. Then it's Tatum, Joker, Tyrese Maxey. Wow. SGA. Well, he's in a smaller market there. You got to factor in Luca in a big market. Steph in a biggish market. Jalen Brunson, big market. Wemby in San Antonio. That says a lot with his popularity. Yes. Yes. Marvin.
NBA Jersey Analyst
Dp. I'm not sure if I can go for that. No can do. Only because SGA's game isn't exciting. I think that's the number one reason why he doesn't. Why he's not a bigger star. He doesn't have those highlights that are on SportsCenter. It's him shooting 15 foot jumpers. He's really efficient. But that's not making sports center.
Dan Patrick
Is he, is he a better version of DeMar DeRozan?
NBA Jersey Analyst
Absolutely.
Dan Patrick
And DeMar DeRozan has 26, 000 career points.
Jim Boeheim
Right.
Dan Patrick
I don't know how many all stars he made, but similar game, not relying on the three, but SGA can get to the hoop and mid range jumper and you're right, that's not going to move. Jerseys here. Let's go around the room, see if we learned anything on the program. Todd, you learned anything today. I did. Bam.
Jim Boeheim
Adebayo, who never actually met his idol Kobe Bryant, expects to be triple team the next time he plays the Wizards in early April.
Dan Patrick
You know the fact he said he cried when he thought he was going to make the all star team and then he'd get to meet Kobe and never did. Seaton o' Connor the meat Friday menu is just warfare right now.
NBA Jersey Analyst
Marvin Seaton got no job offers.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I know. Nope, Nobody's interested.
NBA Jersey Analyst
Bama's apologizing for nothing.
Dan Patrick
Hope you have a great weekend, everybody. We look forward to talking to you on Monday. Dan Patrick show.
Jim Boeheim
This is an I heart podcast.
Dan Patrick
Guaranteed human.
