You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Final hour on this Tuesday. Dan and the Dan. It's Dan Patrick show. Morale is high. We got Fritzi supplying the humor. He is the minister of humor. Marvin is here. We got Seaton. We got Paulie Ann coming up after this show in an hour from now, people be talking about this as maybe competition to the Super Bowl. The tension is. It's palpable. You can feel it, it's tangible. It's going to be the match. It's going to be Marvin and Paulie versus Fritzi and Seton. It's going to be pickleball. And it. It's high stakes is what it is. They got uniforms, they got shoes, they've got everything except for the talents.
Paulie
Yes, Paul, just like the Super Bowl. People want to know when you're making your prediction.
Dan Patrick
I've already made my prediction. This is easy. I'm going back row. Fritzi and Seton will win the match. I've got prop bets as well. First injury. What will it be? What part of the body? Fritzi and Seaton are favored, by the way, very similar to the Kansas City Chiefs by one and a half. So just letting you know, poll question for the final hour of the program is going to be what? Seaton. Let's see right now we got two of them up there. The Browns are a total mess or in a great spot for the future. You want to take a guess at that one? I'm gonna say people say a mess. How many people do you think are saying 77%? That would be 95% have them as a total mess. That's mean spirit. That is. That is. People are not buying in. Mean spirited. We also have. If you were Travis Kelsey and the Chiefs win the super bowl this year, you would retire or keep it rolling. 63% of the audience would retire. Okay. Probably not going to get better than that. No, but if you don't have to retire and you just win a championship, then you want to continue to play. John Elway had to retire. So that's where we go. Oh, that's the perfect script. Yeah. Nobody wants to go out that way. They always say that. Then if you win, you're like, well then go out that way. Now I want to run it back again. Jerome Best Bettis went out that way. Bussy probably could have played another season. Alrighty. 877-3-DP show email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP Show Good morning. If you're watching on Peacock, our streaming partner and our radio affiliates around the country numbering over 400, our next guest is the fastest Manning of all time, the funniest Manning of all time, and his son is about to take over at Texas. He's our guy. The Manning on the street. Cooper Manning joining us on the program there. Yeah. Last time the super bowl was here, we gave Cooper a camera and a microphone, and Coop went out and entertained the French Quarter there, and we launched a career. Was that your first time on camera doing things like that?
Cooper Manning
Not my first time on camera, but certainly the first time that people were gonna watch something I did on camera. So I. I couldn't believe y'all. Just roll the dice. It was no direction. It was just a camera. Go harass people.
Justin Penick
There was.
Cooper Manning
Paulie gave me no guidance. I just said, there's a camera, there's a French Quarter. Have at it.
Dan Patrick
And this is the last time we were here. And Paulie goes, hey, what about Cooper Manning on the street? I go, is he any good? He goes, oh, he'll be great. I said, well, what direction? He goes, I don't think he needs direction. I'll just tell him, hey, go ask people questions, whatever you want to ask them in the French Quarter. And that's what you did.
Paulie
I don't want to put a muzzle on him. We walked down there, he saw some guy who was about 5 foot 4 with a bo Jackson jersey on him and started interviewing him as if it was Bo Jackson. And I was like, we got it.
Cooper Manning
We're good. Yes. It's amazing. I use that truthfully and presented to ESPN and to Fox was trying to maybe develop something. Fox said, this is something. So here comes the 10th year of the Manning Hour. It's really. Essentially everything we did in those couple days and a quarter has evolved into a mediocre career.
Dan Patrick
But you go to Media Night last night.
Cooper Manning
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
And you show up in a band outfit.
Cooper Manning
You. You know, a major.
Dan Patrick
A majorette.
Cooper Manning
A drum major. A drum major, right. A dumb major. Yeah. You know, in New Orleans, you kind of have to have a costume closet, and it's always being filled. So literally, on Saturday, my wife came home and goes, I bought these for Marty Gro just in case. And I went, hm, I like this drum major hat. And, you know, there are always bands and parades and Super Bowl. And I thought it made sense. And he just filled in the rest and, yeah, you know.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but you go up and interview Travis Kelsey. Did he know it was you?
Cooper Manning
50. 50, maybe. No. @ first, no. And then he kind of started my line of questioning, started bringing in brothers and mothers to it. He was. Yeah, he's. He's a good guy. He was a good sport.
Dan Patrick
Are you still the fastest Manning in the family?
Cooper Manning
No, it's over. It's been a good run. I mean, you know, and I've gotten better every year.
Dan Patrick
Peyton and Eli can't at one time.
Cooper Manning
But I would say those days are.
Dan Patrick
Well, who's faster than you?
Cooper Manning
Oh, Arch. Well, no, your son, my daughter and my. And my other. Hi. It's a freshman at Texas. I'm sure he's eating like a, you know, a plate of cheese fries right now and drinking beer. He could still outrun me to the bathroom. So. Yeah.
Dan Patrick
What advice would you give to parents with the situation that you're. I don't know if Arch, your dad, helped Peyton and Eli with his. There was an nil. But just being the dad and the questions that come about, opportunities that come about, what advice would you give to somebody who might be in a similar situation?
Cooper Manning
I think the best advice I can give is to look at the school where you're going to go and where you're going to be happy. I mean, if money is dictating where you're going to go for the next four years, you're probably going to make a mistake. And, you know, where are you going to be? I always tell Arch, where are you going to be on Sunday nights when you've thrown three interceptions, you've gotten beat by the Crosstown robbery, your girlfriend broke up with you, you got two tests you haven't studied for, it's cloudy and you're homesick. Where are you still going to be relatively happy? And if you can figure that out, you made the right choice. But I wouldn't, I wouldn't let you know a short term, dollar amount dictate a career.
Dan Patrick
How do you navigate Nil?
Cooper Manning
Slowly and carefully. I mean, I think you're. Again, you know, I think it depends. Everybody's in a different situation, certainly, but I think to play the long game is probably the best way to do it. You don't, you don't want to get caught up in doing these little short term, you know, things that might, if you start having some success, could cannibalize you being able to do something bigger. No, you did a little dinky deal here that's going to hurt you from doing something bigger. So I would just pick your spots carefully and. And worry about the craft. The reason you're there is to get an education and play football and to make friends and have a great college experience. It's not all about how much money you can jam in your pocket those couple of years. So, again, I look at college a little differently than everybody else does. Sometimes I think it's such a precious time and, you know, kind of molding who you're going to become. And if, just if it's just a straight dollar decision, then I think you miss out on a lot.
Dan Patrick
And I was wondering about this too, because Architecture sat, and then Quinn Ewers comes back, you know, this past season, and then I wonder. But that's part of the process of being patient, waiting for your turn and, and not transferring. But I'm wondering, at any point, does your son come home and say, mom, Dad, I want to talk to you. Should I stay? I can go play right away some other place.
Cooper Manning
No, I think. I think having your children struggle with some things is good. I mean, yeah, it's frustrating not to play. Did he love it? No. Was it probably good for him in the long run? Yes. And so you don't, you know, you don't want your kiddos to come home and be unhappy, but at the same time, sometimes going through a little hardship and some bumps in the road are. Are good. Arch is going to have plenty more of those. You know, these are the real ones. When you get beat this year and throw up, have bad games, I mean, they're, you know. You know how they do in the media. They. They crown you way too early and they jump on and kill you. So he's getting over way too much attention and way too much credit, and he's going to str and they're going to say he's not as good. He's overrated. It's coming. Everybody knows it. So it's. It's kind of easy to see that.
Dan Patrick
You know, but you can tell him that is going to happen. Eli can tell him, Peyton can tell him it. But until he goes through that, right.
Cooper Manning
It'S no fun to go through it. It's. But it's going to happen. Everybody is. He's, you know, it's inevitable. No one has this. Football is hard, and playing quarterback is really hard, especially when all eyes are on you. So it's just part of the deal. It's part of growing up and, you know, the whole. Everybody likes a guy could, you know, get beat down and come back. You got to keep coming.
Dan Patrick
What do you like during a game?
Cooper Manning
Well, this year, last couple years, it's been pretty fun. I've kind of enjoyed just being the backup quarterbacks. That. It's pretty delightful.
Dan Patrick
We always like the backup quarterback.
Cooper Manning
I'm the, you know, the crown prince of the parent section. You know, I could do no wrong, but I think I'll be a lot more nervous and, you know, just probably biting fingernails and, and head down. But I, I like sitting with the parents. We have a great. Texas has a great parent section. Good family oriented group. We sit with the fans and I mean, sit with, in the stands with them and. Good group.
Dan Patrick
He's Cooper Manning, the other Manning. Did you ever get caught up in like, your identity or lose your identity because your brothers have such an identity now?
Cooper Manning
I mean, I've always been pretty comfortable with who I am. I'm super proud of my brothers. I've loved every moment of their success. I, I was in horrible moods when things didn't go right, you know, on Sundays for them and Saturdays and, and, you know, all smiles and buying everyone drinks at the bar when it went well. So I, you know, I went through it just as much as any rabid fan and probably even more. I was, you know, it's, it's, it's tough being, you know, that. I've enjoyed kind of having a little bit of a reprieve from that. And now it's getting ready to crank back up again where you, you know, every single penalty and you know, drop and catch and is he out of bounds? Just, you just grind and eat it away. And then that night you sleep on it and think about it over and over. So.
Dan Patrick
And you're gonna be on camera a lot.
Cooper Manning
Well, you know, I got a lot of makeup and.
Dan Patrick
You like that?
Cooper Manning
Thank goodness, your makeup. You.
Dan Patrick
You like that?
Cooper Manning
No, I mean, I don't want to be. Yeah, I'll find, I'll hide, I'll get a big hat. They'll never find me.
Nate Thompson
I.
Dan Patrick
When. First time I saw the Manning cast, I was like, they're. They don't, they don't have to work. I mean, that's just basically I loved Eli. The real Eli came out in the Manning cast. You know, he was, he was stealth.
Cooper Manning
My dad said the other day, he's like, it took Eli till he was 40, till he got a personality, you know, I mean, he is absolutely in his element. He's so comfortable back there. He's literally in his garage. You go downstairs in his basement. I mean, he just walks downstairs from the den and hooked up a mic and it's like, all right, let's talk football. And I think that was kind of the whole intention of this thing. Evolving, is it? Peyton said, look, I don't want to be on the road on, you know, Fridays and then going to practice on Saturdays and waiting Sundays to do a game. And then kind of with COVID and Zooms. And the idea of being able to do things a little more remote came to fruition. He's had a buddy of his down the road who's got this great man cave. He literally, he was renovating his house and he called his buddy and said, hey, can we hook it up there? And it's there to stay. I love it. He, Peyton loves it and he loves the prep still. He loves preparation. He loves talking to the coaches. He's got plenty of guys that help him, you know, breaking down film and so.
Dan Patrick
But Peyton gets so bothered by mistakes when he's watching. Like, I can't imagine what, you know, be a teammate of his.
Cooper Manning
How about, how about. How about a high school coach of his son coming up? Think he's going to be getting a few voice memos on. On Saturday morning? Goodness gracious.
Dan Patrick
I remember asking Tony Dunge, I said, how do you think Peyton would be as an analyst on tv? And he goes, he would drive everybody crazy with this preparation. He would drive everybody. You know, you would be like, stop.
Cooper Manning
Peyton is prepared for everything. He's already, you know, if we have a golf match in May, he's already.
Dan Patrick
Concerned, walking the corners.
Cooper Manning
Do I have my transportation lined up and where am I going to park? I mean, he is a detail oriented guy. He doesn't sit still well. And his brain is always, it's moving. You see him sometimes just kind of off in the corner, like to himself, and it's. Wheels are turning.
Dan Patrick
I. I do love that. Eli. I don't know if he got a personality at 40. I think he felt comfortable to showcase his personality to his brother. And he's. He just, he slices and dices Peyton, and it's really, it's really great to see.
Cooper Manning
He's really one of the few people that does that with really, you know, where Peyton doesn't kind of keep a note like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna return this favor in five years after what Dan Patrick said about me, you know. Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Peyton held a grudge for five years against me.
Cooper Manning
Oh, did he?
Dan Patrick
Long time ago.
Cooper Manning
Mine was at least six or seven years. So you're, you're.
Dan Patrick
He held a grudge he was. He held something over your head.
Cooper Manning
No, no, no. But, I mean, Eli has just carte blanche to just rip him to death, and he can't. I guess they're partners forever. If they break up, that show's over.
Dan Patrick
And I like when he says Snyder Mark to Belichick.
Cooper Manning
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
I mean about, you know, I don't know what it feels like to lose to you in the Super Bowl.
Cooper Manning
I know. He's gotten cocky. What the hell, Eli? Yeah. I think anybody who comes out of the New York, you know, media mass with, you know, relatively on good terms is, I guess, can say whatever he wants.
Dan Patrick
Where are you going to be on Super Bowl Sunday?
Cooper Manning
I'm going to be, actually. I work for Fox, and Fox has a game, so I'm going to be running the streets. I'll be down in the Dome early, and I don't know exactly what they had me doing, but probably interviewing a bunch of celebs that are coming to the game, so, you know, and asking them ridiculous questions. And then I'm. I'm free for the game, so I'm just gonna be walking and go watch a game.
Dan Patrick
What are you going to be wearing? Are you gonna wear an outfit?
Cooper Manning
Yeah, that's a good question. Depends. Mardi Gras Saturday night goes. Dictates Sunday courage. Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Any tips for us the next couple days here?
Cooper Manning
And, yeah, I mean, y'all need to make sure you at least have a shrimp po boy. Fried shrimp po boy, maybe a roast beef po boy, Some. Some fried oysters, some raw oysters, a couple bloodies, maybe some tunes. Maybe a new outfit for Paulie. We could probably work something.
Dan Patrick
Wow.
Paulie
I was waiting on that.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Cooper Manning
You know, maybe a shirt where the belly button doesn't show. Other than that.
Dan Patrick
Did you.
Paulie
I thought New Orleans, that was a thing.
Cooper Manning
Well, it's. It will be. Yeah, I guess.
Dan Patrick
Throw me some beads. You'll take your shirt on.
Cooper Manning
Oh, good. Yeah, we want to see those nips.
Dan Patrick
Did you ever get in trouble in the French Quarter growing up, you know?
Cooper Manning
Yeah. Hell, yeah. There was a bar we used to go to in the French Quarter called Crazy Corner, and I literally think the drinking age was 13. I had a. I had a station wagon that it was going to be mine when you could drive at 15, but my friends were older, so they had. I mean, I had a car without a license, and we'd drive down there and leave it there for the night because you couldn't drive. You know, just the drinking age here is bizarre. I mean, you know, you people, it's Like, I always thought it was funny. People from New Orleans go off to college and everybody's running wild. They're looking at them like, what's your problem, buddy? I've been doing this for three or four years, you know, so it's, it starts fast. You learn how to deal with people and you know, handle, handle yourself in front of adults and have a few pops and not get in too much trouble.
Dan Patrick
When's the last time you threw up?
Cooper Manning
Oh, from, from, you know, I dry heaved really hard this weekend. I'm not gonna lie. I saw something kind of gross. I was, I got into a beer drinking contest. We have a buddy, whenever you call him about 11:00pm and you're kind of feeling a little, a little high, you know, a little, little ready for a couple more. You call him, he's my neighbor and he always comes over and he brings a big ice chest full of just those little seven and a half ounce ponies. High lives.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Cooper Manning
You know, iced. He just, it's like he's like on call, like just waiting and go. And then you call it, Gordo, we're going to have a few more beers over here and Gordo there. And then you just, you have to have a, you know, I had five or six just, just race them, you know, just open the throat and let it go. And so I felt like ass the next morning. It was worth it.
Dan Patrick
Do you want to give a, a plug for the Manning Hour?
Cooper Manning
Oh, yeah, you know, it's the, you know, it's the greatest. Two minutes.
Dan Patrick
Come on, you're a Manning. Aren't you supposed to be ready to promote something?
Cooper Manning
You're right. I know. I just, they don't pay me enough. You know, if you like, if you like seeing another side of players, I think that's kind of the whole thing. We, you get a manicure, you get a pedicure, you get a couple's massage with, you know, Greg Olson or Cam Newton or Odell or all these great players that have been kind enough to join the show, you kind of show, what are they like outside of the helmet. So year 10 comes to a wrap. Hopefully there's a year 11. You know, I'm a year to year guy.
Dan Patrick
Great to see you.
Cooper Manning
Thank you so much.
Dan Patrick
Thanks again for stopping by.
Cooper Manning
Thanks for giving me my start.
Dan Patrick
Yep. And tell your parents I said hello. I definitely had, I had dinner at your parents house many years ago.
Cooper Manning
I remember I was there.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Cooper Manning
Serving.
Dan Patrick
And we didn't realize it, it was like, oh, and this is my son Koopa.
Cooper Manning
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
And I was like, oh, damn, he's serving us. I went into Peyton's bedroom, though.
Cooper Manning
Did you?
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Cooper Manning
Was he. Was he in there?
Dan Patrick
No, he was him. But.
Cooper Manning
But you're down there doing some deep knee bends. No.
Dan Patrick
Your dad. Your dad was like, peyton, not going to be happy.
Cooper Manning
Yeah, well, he doesn't like you meddling in his stuff.
Dan Patrick
Well, nobody wants you to be in your bedroom. I wanted to jump up and down on the bed.
Cooper Manning
You. You should have. You probably did.
Dan Patrick
He's Koopa Manning. Copa Pete? Never. He didn't know how to pronounce your name. It's Cooper.
Cooper Manning
Cooper.
Dan Patrick
Like, it's Cooper.
Cooper Manning
Like cookie, like. Like you don't read a book. You don't need a chocolate chip cookie. You eat a cookie, Cooper, you'll get it. Dayton, Ohio, you know, it takes him a while.

Now I don't know if you have the update, but like, all the little thumbs up and heart and stuff, like it's all colored. They changed it and the heart's a little pink. It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest, it was a little pink.
Dan Patrick
There was something sentimental when you, like when you send it.
Cooper Manning
It was like, do I send the heart Now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color edition. It's extremely listen to Lots to say with Bobby Bones and Matt castle on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

It's Julie Stewart Banks. I'm doing a new podcast from iHeart Podcasts and the National Hockey League, and I'm paired up with one of my favorite players, the always quotable Nate Thompson.
Nate Thompson
I wore nine NHL sweaters and I.
Julie Stewart-Banks
Have story after story to share.
Nate Thompson
And believe it or not, I have plenty to say. And not just about hockey.
Julie Stewart-Banks
Believe me he does Energy Line with Nate and JSB is the name of the podcast and it's going to be. Well, it's going to be quite the ride. We're officially linemates, Nate. We're the Energy Line.
Nate Thompson
We'll have plenty of folks join us, current players, some of my former teammates, hall of Famers, and wait to see some of the connections that Julie has. She has quite the Rolodex.
Julie Stewart-Banks
Okay. We'll lean into Nate's playing experience and tap into our interests away from hockey and try to do it. Energy Lines are supposed to do, provide an emotional boost. How do you feel about all that, Nate?
Nate Thompson
I'm vibing, Julie. I'm ready to roll.
Julie Stewart-Banks
Listen to Energy Line with Nate and jsb on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Nate Thompson
It was a moment that should have broken me, but just because of how I was raised and my bullishness and.
Paulie
Arrogance to want to be great hardened me.
Nate Thompson
It gave me a platform to be so singularly focused on greatness.

A couple of phone calls in here. We'll play the Miles Garrett game where we think he will be next year. Albert Brear, the Monday morning quarterback, in the first hour, said Detroit, now I got the DraftKings odds. And the odds right now are he stays with the Cleveland Browns. 877-3-DP show email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle @DP Show James in Virginia. Hi, James. What's on your mind? Oh, thank you for taking my call, brother. Happy Tuesday, dp.
Nate Thompson
Daniel, Salute the commanders, man. And speaking of the commanders, I hope.
Dan Patrick
They do go all in for a.
Nate Thompson
Miles Garrett, and I love to see him in the burgundy and gold. And speaking of the name change, it don't matter what they call them as long as they're wearing the burgundy and gold. And I love the W on the helmet.
Dan Patrick
You know what I mean?
Nate Thompson
Going forward, man, I love Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Dan Patrick
It is against my religion to root for the Eagles.
Nate Thompson
And one last thing, bp. You know, I called a couple weeks.
Dan Patrick
Ago and told you we were expecting our second child. And we just found out, man, we're having a beautiful baby boy, man. So, so excited. And thank you again for giving me the time. I think that's great. I like it. Gonna call him Jaden, right? James Hunter Edwards, the fourth man, you could have done Jaden Daniel and name him after me. So, Jaden Daniels. Daniel Patrick. Ball game. There you go. Have a great one, guys. Thank you, James. That sounds like a no. Sam in Los Angeles. Hi, Sam. What's on your mind today? Good morning, Dan.
Cooper Manning
And.
Dan Patrick
Good morning, Dan. And Dan, thanks for taking my call again. Hey, so this might be a poll question for tomorrow. I think the NFL and with all.
Cooper Manning
Your power and influence, I think it's time to drop the Roman numerals because.
Dan Patrick
Nobody can read which one it is. Just imagine if the Masters used Roman numerals. Where were the Masters? Roman numeral or the World Series in baseball? And why don't they just call it Super Bowl 2025 like they do the Rose bowl when UCLA won in 1982. It wasn't Rose Bowl 37. So what are your thoughts on that? You can't even understand what they are these days. Yeah, well, maybe. Are we teaching that in school? Roman numerals? How to read that? Yes, Marvin.
Nate Thompson
The Roman numerals. That's not the issue. The issue is the logos and a lack of creativity.
Dan Patrick
That's true.
Nate Thompson
Back in the 90s, the 80s, even before that. It used to be you know, something like San Diego Zoo themed for the 49ers, Chargers, Super Bowl. But now it's the same old XLV.
Dan Patrick
And the trophy and just the trophy.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, that's what needs to change.
Dan Patrick
Very boring. Yes. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, I think Sam has it.
Dan Patrick
A little reversed in that people will say Super Bowl L, but just because they don't understand that L is 50. Right. So it's like it shouldn't be that. I mean, I get that it takes a little extra legwork, but the only reason that people say that, people do say Super Bowl 50, but it's just written as an L. It's not that crazy. Yes.
Paulie
Paul, My theory on why the NFL keeps it there are the Roman gladiators. Gladiator. The Roman numeral has that feel of the gladiator days, and they want to still embrace that gladiator feel of their sport without the hitting that it used to have. The Roman gladiators.
Dan Patrick
Okay, okay, let's just. How about just a quick poll question? You want to keep the Roman numerals for the Super Bowl? Keep it, Satan. Yes. And add lions to the field. Just kidding. Thank you, Todd. I would keep it, Marv.
Nate Thompson
Keep it.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I'm fine with it. Yeah. It's east coast bias.
Paulie
Clearly close to Rome.
Dan Patrick
You guys only like that because you're closer. True. We're closer to Rome. You know, Midwest, west coast, they wouldn't be in favor. Right, yeah, of course.
Nate Thompson
No one's brought that up when talking about the Chiefs.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Nate Thompson
East coast bias.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Rome court advantage. We just stumbled on to something. We were talking about NFL bros. And if you're gonna hang with the bro. What if I said the. The best set of brothers, talent wise. Like, you know, you have Gronk and baby Gronk and other Kelsey's Mannings, The Boses in there. Or should we just do. Or the Watt family. Sharp bros. Oh, yeah. Sterling Shannon. Boy, you wouldn't get in a word edgewise if you were with those guys. They were pretty good. Yeah, that's not true.
Nate Thompson
We're pretty good listeners.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Todd. How about we if. If it was just to hang with?
Paulie
Oh, hang, hang like you watch the super bowl with.
Dan Patrick
Yes, but at their house. Yes. So you can go. And you got Eli and Peyton, you got the Bosa brothers, and you got Gronk and Watts and Sterling and Shannon Sharp. Anybody else that we're leaving out there? Marvin, you go first. Who do you want to hang with?
Nate Thompson
TJ and jj? The Watts.
Dan Patrick
Oh, all right, Todd.
Nate Thompson
The Mannings.
Dan Patrick
All right. Seaton, probably the Manning. Okay, Paul, as much as I love.
Paulie
The Watts, I think they're gonna try to get a lift in at halftime and probably eat a little healthy because you never know. I'm gonna go the Manning. See, they stealthily get after it still.
Dan Patrick
I'm gonna go the Sharps. Wow. Yeah. I've been around Sterling a lot, and he is a very, very, very funny guy. So you bring him in. Shannon, you know, he's gonna dish on some things there, maybe bring a surprise guest there, who knows? But so Cat Williams shows up. Crazy. Yeah, yeah. I mean, he's gonna bring in. Somebody's coming to the. That. That tailgate party.
Nate Thompson
Oh, you had the right answer because you're going to Club Shay Shack.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, absolutely. OO Cinco is going to show up. Like, if you think the bros. Who's going to invite their group? The Sharps are going to have. They're going to have some people there. I, you know, I'm going to guess Lil Kim or somebody like that might be there. Lil Kim. Call back.
Nate Thompson
Tone Lo here.
Dan Patrick
Hey, Cisco.
Nate Thompson
That's what happens when body starts slapping.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Todd. Yes, Paul.
Paulie
I think the Gronkowski brothers will be fun to watch hang out. But if you hang out with them, you're getting hit in the groin.
Dan Patrick
True. Somebody's gonna get hurt there, definitely. And it feels like they're gonna be like, giving you noogies, you know, having you a headlock. Those kind of feels like the Watt brothers are gonna spend the whole time yelling at each other, like, arguing, like, oh, yeah. Remember when you stole my bike at camp that year? And then you're gonna be like, I. I don't know what any of these things are. How many defensive player the year awards you got?
Cooper Manning
Oh, yeah.
Dan Patrick
Who couldn't get a sack against that line? Nice.
Paulie
Chin up, bar, dude. Let's test it out.
Dan Patrick
Or you can hang out with Ross Tucker. Oh, Ross Tucker. All day. All day. I love that.
Cooper Manning
I don't even have a brother, but I love one.
Dan Patrick
You look like.
Paulie
Like a little version of me.
Dan Patrick
Ross would be a lot of fun there. He'd be good. Do. All right. Let's play the Miles Garrett game, where we think Miles Garrett will be next year. Paul, this is your game. You start the Miles Garrett game out of nowhere.
Paulie
I'm going with the Denver Broncos. They're trending upwards, far away, but it's in the AC The Denver Broncos will trade.
Nate Thompson
Wow, that would be fantastic.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, John Seaton. It's the first team that I thought of and I'm. I tend. It's hard to move me off of the first one that pops into my mind.
Bobby Bones
But I'm gonna say the commanders.
Dan Patrick
I think he ends up there okay. I do. Todd.
Nate Thompson
I know they already have a solid defense, but they're right at the cusp of getting back to glory days. And I picture Reggie White. He's already used to the cold. The Green Bay Packers. I could totally just picture him in a Green Bay popping uniform.
Dan Patrick
Marvin.
Nate Thompson
Yeah. I don't think they're going to trade him within the afc. So I think the Bears are going to make a push and Miles Garrett will be a Chicago Bear.
Dan Patrick
I'm going to say the Cleveland Browns, I'm going to say they can't get rid of him.
Cooper Manning
Can't.
Paulie
Can't or won't?
Dan Patrick
Can't. Won't. I don't think they think they're as far away as we do that tough division. I mean, you know, desean Watson's a mess, but they still have some pieces to be competitive. And they did make the playoffs the previous year with Joe Flacco. Yes. Paul Flack.
Paulie
I look at the Browns like the Thunder or something where they could, if they could somehow ditch Watson's contract, trade down in this draft and trade Myles Garrett, they could set themselves up for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 years down the line like a major league baseball team would to stockpile draft picks and hopefully use them the right way. Where are they going next year? They getting past anybody next year in the AFC with this quarterback situation?
Dan Patrick
Probably not.
Paulie
Yeah. It. It seems like a futile effort to play for now. And you're a guy who wants to leave, who's expensive.
Dan Patrick
And then Albert Breer said Detroit, which I found, like, if you want to go all in, and we talk about this like San Francisco was all in. The Rams a couple of years ago were all in. Now you have this situation. If you're Detroit, go all in. Go all in. You have him and Aiden Hutchinson give up those draft picks. Those draft picks are going to be the 29th and 30th pick. Give him up. Hopefully. You don't have to give up any talent. But if you can do that and all of a sudden you put him in there and you did inquire about him at the trade deadline. That to me, that would change the dynamic, I think, of the NFL going into next season. Yes.
Nate Thompson
Todd Future T shirt. Motown Miles not into that. He goes to the Lions. Motown. Motown Miles. My salad get better.
Dan Patrick
Nice. I don't need to be Patriot, but I Could. I can see your brain working, and you're gearing up, and I always hope that it's going to be something really.
Nate Thompson
Good, and it falls short.
Dan Patrick
And I'm rarely, rarely surprised that it is good.
Nate Thompson
You can't picture someone holding up a sign, Motown Miles. If he was on the line, stick with it.
Cooper Manning
But what is.
Dan Patrick
What does that mean? Just there's alliteration.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, because of the M. Motown Miles.
Dan Patrick
Okay, well, then what if he goes to Minnesota?
Nate Thompson
Then it could be Minnesota Miles.
Dan Patrick
Many miles.
Nate Thompson
Many miles. There's not many about that guy.
Dan Patrick
No, no. By the way, Traeger, we're having. We're having food tomorrow with Traeger. Just letting you know, Wednesday and Thursday.
Nate Thompson
That's fabulous.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. And then Friday, Kings of Wine comes in just because you guys were kind of complaining that you didn't have lunch. And so Traeger's coming.
Nate Thompson
They can bring those little pretzel slider buns that I love.
Dan Patrick
So on Friday, they will.
Nate Thompson
That's fabulous.
Dan Patrick
Yes, they will. Okay, how about we take a break? We'll come back, what we learn, what's in store tomorrow, this day in sports history, all of that right after this. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show, weekdays at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific, on Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app.

It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
Dan Patrick
There was something sentimental when you. Like when you send it.
Cooper Manning
It was like, do I send the heart now?
Bobby Bones
I don't like the color addition.
Dan Patrick
It's extremely pink.

Julie Stewart-Banks
Okay, we'll lean into Nate's playing experience and tap into our interests away from hockey and try to do it. Energy Lines are supposed to do provide an emotional boost. How do you feel about all that, Nate?
Nate Thompson
I'm vibing Julie. I'm ready to roll.

Arrogance to want to be great hardened me.
Nate Thompson
It gave me a platform to be so singularly focused on greatness.

Jim Harbaugh will join us on the program tomorrow. Rich Eisen will stop by on loan from NFL Network. Sal Palantonio for the Mothership will join us as well. Last call for phone calls. What we learned what's in store tomorrow. I just had a Moon Pie. I haven't had a moon pie in 50 years. It tasted great. I don't know where it's been all my life.
Paulie
Who bought them?
Dan Patrick
They have it craft services here. I spared no expense for this trip and I said, give me all the goodies. So there's Oreos, there's moon pies, and all kinds of things, even some healthy things. Back there, I had not a moon pie in 50 years. Also, I hear during Mardi Gras, they throw Moon pies. That's a big deal. Yes, Paul.
Paulie
I'm on moonpie.com as we speak. Dan. An American snack popular across the south, particularly marshmallow filling. Two round graham crackers in the center dipped in a flavored chocolate coating.
Dan Patrick
Tasted great.
Paulie
The snack is often associated with cuisine of the American south, where it's accompanied by an RC Cola.
Dan Patrick
Another callback. Okay. Wow. I could go for like a Mr. Pibb right now. It's a one seed or a Fresca.
Paulie
Yeah, you know, just stay with Mr. Pibb. You're right on.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Yes, Todd.
Nate Thompson
So when they say show us your moon pies for beads, that's what they're talking about. The little chocolate circular candies. Who knew how.
Dan Patrick
Why are you limping to the finish line? Yeah, you are. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm not going to pay you for today's show. Wow. No, I didn't have. No, I'm not. I'm not. You made some mistakes. You made some mistakes today, didn't you? Behind the scenes made some mistakes.
Nate Thompson
I don't know about some mistakes. I made at least one.
Dan Patrick
Okay, let's go around the room. Should I pay Todd for today's show, Paul?
Paulie
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Satan. Heck yeah, Marvin.
Nate Thompson
Yes. Why being mean like that.
Dan Patrick
I don't know, I just. I feel like you're being mean to the audience with some of these lame lines and then I'm blamed for it.
Nate Thompson
It does reflect poorly on you.
Dan Patrick
And then we have the. I think your mind is elsewhere because we have the big pickleball match coming up and maybe that's where you are. Heck yeah, Todd.
Nate Thompson
Get focused on that.
Dan Patrick
And I do have prop bets for the pickleball match between. It's Marvin and Paul. Paul. And it's. It's Todd. Todd. And Seton morphed lately. Seaton and Todd are favored by 2 1/2 the match. And we will be videotaping this, so we'll bring this to your attention tomorrow. What injury will be sustained first? Knee is the big favorite there. Ankle. Achilles. Hamstring, hip, arm, elbow. That's factoring you, Todd.
Nate Thompson
Yeah, because I have a wiffle ball injury.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, of course. Player to miss the ball the most. Paul is the big winner there.
Paulie
That's correct.
Dan Patrick
Then Todd, Marvin and Seaton. I don't think I'd put you that high up. I'd probably put Paul. Marvin, Todd, Seaton. You. You, Pat, you displayed some.
Nate Thompson
I got decent hands on coordination. I'm just very slow and bending down is not. This is a good everything up.
Paulie
This is actually the perfect sport for Todd. It's limited side to side movement. Not a long distance. You could play it wearing short sleeves.
Nate Thompson
Could, like slam it, you know.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Nate Thompson
With the biceps.
Dan Patrick
I think you're going to be dangerous. I do. I think you're going to be just like wiffle ball where you were surprisingly good. Like, I think that's. That shocked all the backroom guys. They're like, man, Fritzi was an animal to play.
Nate Thompson
But much like Wiffle ball. I think I'm gonna start out strong, and then I'm gonna fizzle out all the way to where scenes like, oh, this guy is my partner. This.
Dan Patrick
You kidding me? You kidding me? That's insulting.
Nate Thompson
I usually start out strong and I know, sweating, and then I feel like, you know, lightheaded, and then I'm like, you know, how many more points till this is over?
Dan Patrick
Okay, but no pull groin. That wasn't it listed in here? No injury. All right. If you get injured, you have to play through the injury for the rest of the week.
Nate Thompson
Where is the closest medical center? Just. I don't want to be neurotic, but just out of curiosity, if someone had to be taken somewhere, there's something.
Dan Patrick
It's close by. Yeah. There's a walk in right up the street. Yeah.
Nate Thompson
Like an urgent care.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah. All right. This day in sports history.
Paulie
Paulie, I have a couple of them for you, Dan. 1969. John Madden was named the head coach of the NFL's Oakland Raiders Boston Celtics in 93. This was a gutsy decision. They retired Larry Bird's number 33, Jimmy Buffett. The singer was ordered by NBA referee Joe Forte to give up his courtside seat due to profanity. After a minute discussion, the game versus the Heat and the Knicks continued. But Jimmy Buffett, oh, yeah, he used.
Dan Patrick
To go to the Heat games a lot.
Paulie
He wouldn't be a one seed in music stars, I think would get booted out of an NBA game. He'd be like, down on the depth chart. Chill guy.
Dan Patrick
Well, I don't know. Maybe that, you know, the next Heat rivalry, maybe that brought out the worst in Jimmy Buffett, by the way, when he opened up Margaritaville in New Orleans. This is many, many, many years ago. I don't know what year that was, but my wife and I were here, and we went to a place called Mother's for breakfast. And I saw Jimmy there with his bodyguard, and I was told, whatever you do, don't go up to Jimmy while he's eating. So my wife and I had breakfast, and then somehow he knew that I was there, gave his bodyguard a note, and the bodyguard said, hey, do you want to come to the opening of Margaritaville tonight? And I said, yes. And then I went to the opening of Margaritaville, got to see Jimmy, and it was great. What time?
Nate Thompson
It's rude to go up to somebody while they're eating, but I think it's more rude to declare for everyone, you know, to make sure you don't come to me. Or have your handlers tell everyone, make sure you don't approach. What's going to happen if you look Steve Harvey straight in the eye? You hear these horrible stories of, like, these celebrities, you know, don't talk to them. Don't. You're just the intern. Don't engage in conversation if you're in the elevator, don't look directly at them like they're the sun or something. I hate that.
Dan Patrick
Why were you staring at me? I don't want you looking at me when you tell me that.
Nate Thompson
If you were living remotely like that, I would have worked with you maybe a week. We would have been working together.
Dan Patrick
Oh, really?
Nate Thompson
You can't really talk to him if he's doing interviews so that I can.
Dan Patrick
Get rid of you by just saying, I don't want you to look at.
Nate Thompson
Me like, listen, just send me a note. And don't ever communicate with me directly. You can't look at me. And here's a list of things that I need on my desk.
Dan Patrick
No, Paulie. Pauli worked with somebody, could make eye contact a bit.
Paulie
I was at CBS news, and I floated around and worked on a morning show, and there was a very famous person who was. Had a segment on that show every day. And I was told and, no, in simple terms, don't approach that person, don't compliment that person, don't try to give that person notes or you're gonna get your head bit off. And I did not.
Dan Patrick
You know, if it's somebody famous, Very, very famous. And are they still alive?
Paulie
Yes. Oh, like a home goods, home care, fixing up your home type things, your kitchen. Legendary. She may have gone to jail. No names. I cannot give the name.
Nate Thompson
Good morning, Ellen. I told you not to talk to me.
Dan Patrick
Now.
Paulie
She didn't say it. Some rando told me that.
Dan Patrick
All right. Yes. My cousin once worked for a short time in the entertainment industry, and he was standing backstage with a very famous singer and someone else, and they were standing close to each other waiting for.
Bobby Bones
Her to go on to present an award.
Dan Patrick
And the very famous singer said to the other person about my cousin, tell this pos to stop staring at me. Wow. Wow. I don't know. I don't know if David letterman meant it. Wow. But one time I was on the show and I got on the elevator because you get in on the ground floor, and then you have to go up to where your green room is. So Dave was getting on the. Dave was on the elevator and he was going to get makeup. So my wife and I, we get on the Elevator. And Letterman is on the elevator. He doesn't say anything.
Paulie
Head dad.
Dan Patrick
No, no, no, nothing. And I'm on the show that night, and so my wife goes, does he know you're on the show? And I said, I don't know. And he got off second floor and went in to get his makeup on. And I went up to like the fourth or fifth floor. And then I'm thinking, God, I don't want to go out there. Every time I went on Letterman, it was like, I don't want to do this. It's. I just. I didn't enjoy it. Love the people on the show, but it. It was always uncomfortable. It was always going to be awkward. And Dave always wanted you uncomfortable because.
Nate Thompson
He wants the guest to be the fool and he wants to be like the hero.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. Yes, Marvin.
Nate Thompson
I ran a board on a radio show and a Sports center anchor was doing radio for a bit and he bit my head off because I played Aha. Take on me.
Dan Patrick
Oh.
Nate Thompson
I mean, he was furious with me. I played aha. Take on me every single segment. The rest of the show. He was on fire about that. I was like, you can't fire me, so I don't care. He was furious. And Brian Winhorse was our guest in studio. He's like, you believe this guy? And Brian Williams goes, I love Marvin. I don't know what you're talking about.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Nate Thompson
Todd, were you ever that. I can't imagine that self involved at the height of your Sports center days where you were in any kind of situation where no one better look at me or talk to me or say hi to me because I'm Dan Patrick. I just don't want any.
Dan Patrick
Oh, I was more important back then than I am now.
Nate Thompson
He said, you're prime like Kevin Costner.
Dan Patrick
Wow. Yeah.
Nate Thompson
That was a Paulie Costner moment.
Dan Patrick
Well, he's threatened a man's paycheck. He comes back a little bit. Yeah. Well, dish it out. Yeah, there you go, Todd. Get in there. Oh, that's what I learned. Yeah. Todd, what did you learn today?
Nate Thompson
Charles Barkley may lose a lot of money gambling, but he has plenty of cash to lose. Don't worry about it.
Dan Patrick
Marvin, what did you learn today?
Nate Thompson
Brady Quinn is for sale.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, he's like a NASCAR driver. Seaton, what did you learn today? We launched a hell of a media career with Cooper. Cooper Manning. Paul, would you learn today?
Paulie
Cooper Manning was dry heaving just a week and a half ago.
Dan Patrick
Todd, what did I learn today?
Nate Thompson
The Chiefs are kind of like Drake now. Everyone really liked them at one point, but these days we're kind of tired of them.

Summary of "The Dan Patrick Show" – Episode: Hour 3 with Cooper Manning
Release Date: February 4, 2025
Introduction
In the third hour of this episode of The Dan Patrick Show, host Dan Patrick welcomes Cooper Manning, often referred to as the "fastest" and "funniest" Manning of all time. Cooper, son of the legendary Archie Manning and brother to NFL stars Peyton and Eli, shares insights into his burgeoning media career, navigating the pressures of a famous family, and offering advice to young athletes dealing with the complexities of college sports and NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) regulations.
Cooper Manning's Foray into Media
Cooper begins by discussing his unexpected venture into on-camera work, which began during the Super Bowl festivities. Without prior direction, Cooper was encouraged by Paulie to interact with the public, leading to spontaneous and humorous encounters.
Cooper Manning [05:25]: "Not my first time on camera, but certainly the first time that people were gonna watch something I did on camera."
Dan Patrick [05:44]: "He wants to come over, Dan wants to come over, Tom wants to come over. They want to make the big game even bigger."
This unplanned experience sparked interest from major networks like ESPN and Fox, hoping to develop Cooper's unique on-the-street interviewing style. Cooper humorously reflects on the evolution—or lack thereof—of his media career.
Cooper Manning [06:11]: "That's what needs to change. So here comes the 10th year of the Manning Hour. It's really evolved into a mediocre career."
Despite the humble self-assessment, Cooper remains optimistic about future opportunities in media, emphasizing his commitment to showcasing athletes beyond their on-field personas.
Navigating NIL and Advising Young Athletes
A significant portion of the discussion delves into the challenges and strategies surrounding NIL, crucial for student-athletes today. Cooper advises parents and players to prioritize personal happiness and long-term satisfaction over immediate financial gains.
Cooper Manning [08:08]: "I always tell Arch, where are you going to be relatively happy? And if you can figure that out, you made the right choice. But I wouldn't let a short-term dollar amount dictate a career."
He emphasizes playing the long game, cautioning against short-term deals that might hinder future opportunities.
Cooper Manning [08:48]: "I think to play the long game is probably the best way to do it. You don't want to get caught up in doing these little short-term, you know, things that might... cannibalize you being able to do something bigger."
Living in the Shadow of Legendary Brothers
Cooper candidly discusses the dynamics of being Peyton and Eli Manning's younger brother. While he acknowledges the immense shadow cast by his siblings' achievements, Cooper expresses pride and contentment with his own identity.
Dan Patrick [12:08]: "And you're gonna be on camera a lot."
Cooper Manning [12:08]: "I've always been pretty comfortable with who I am. I'm super proud of my brothers."
He also touches upon the societal and media pressures that often overlook Cooper's own efforts, highlighting the mental and emotional toll of constant comparisons.
Cooper Manning [12:51]: "Football is hard, and playing quarterback is really hard, especially when all eyes are on you. So it's just part of the deal."
Parenthood and Arch Manning
Transitioning to personal life, Cooper shares experiences related to his son Arch Manning, who is poised to take over the football legacy at Texas. Cooper offers parenting wisdom, encouraging parents to allow their children to face challenges and grow through them rather than shielding them entirely.
Cooper Manning [10:04]: "No, I think having your children struggle with some things is good. I mean, yeah, it's frustrating not to play. Did he love it? No. Was it probably good for him in the long run? Yes."
Cooper emphasizes the importance of resilience, especially in a high-pressure environment like college football, where young athletes must navigate failures and public scrutiny.
Humorous Anecdotes and Personal Stories
Throughout the episode, Cooper adds levity with anecdotes from his past, including misadventures in the French Quarter and his experiences with on-camera antics.
Cooper Manning [05:38]: "Paulie gave me no guidance. I just said, there's a camera, there's a French Quarter. Have at it."
Cooper Manning [18:15]: "I dry heaved really hard this weekend... I was in a beer drinking contest."
These stories not only entertain but also humanize Cooper, showcasing his ability to blend humor with heartfelt discussions.
Closing Remarks and Future Endeavors
As the conversation winds down, Cooper promotes his ongoing projects, including the "Manning Hour," a media venture aimed at revealing the facets of athletes' lives beyond the game. He expresses gratitude towards Dan Patrick for providing him with a platform and hints at future collaborations.
Cooper Manning [19:06]: "It's the greatest. Two minutes."
Dan Patrick [19:16]: "Thanks for joining us. He's Koopa Manning. We're back after this Dan Patrick show."
The episode concludes with friendly banter and light-hearted prop bets, leaving listeners with a sense of camaraderie and anticipation for Cooper’s continued presence in the media landscape.
