Got a busy final hour here. Jaylen Rose will join us coming up momentarily. Reggie Miller will stop by as well this week on coast to coast Hornets, Celtics My Hornets against the Celtics Rockets versus the Suns on NBC and Peacock. Also the NBA playoffs coming to NBC and Peacock starting April 19. 8 7, 7, 3, DP Show Email address dp@danpatrick.com Twitter handle @dpshow Congrats to the Michigan Wolverines with the win against Connecticut. It's one of those where you're watching the game and I know the betting line is six and a half and all of a sudden it's, you know, four and then it's nine and then it's coming back and then it's going back and back and back and then Fritzi says this is going to end up what, what was your line when you text us the point spread?
Todd
Well, the latest point spread I heard was six and a half. So with about seven and a half minutes left in the game, it's just a matter of whether they're going to win by six or seven. We know they're going to win. It's going to be one of those
Dan Patrick
two numbers because you can't win by six and a half.
Todd
Someone's got to have a bad beat and someone's got to just barely win. That's what they want.
Dan Patrick
Michigan first title since 1989. The other news, of course, North Carolina hiring Michael Malone as its new head coach. Which is interesting because college basketball has changed considerably since Michael Malone was coaching in college. He of course coached with the Denver Nuggets and assistant coach in the NBA. But as I've mentioned a couple of times that the pipeline, the talent through Nikola Jokic's agent who represents close to 40 players who will be either in college basketball or coming over to the United States. Illinois benefited greatly from this. North Carolina will tap into that as well. Seton, would you give us the results of the poll question and what do we go with the final hour of the program?
Seaton
Yeah, we have a poll question up there. Now. We also had a suggestion from Marvin that's kind of more of a topic that we have to make it to a poll question. Putting together this one's from Todd to dub, putting together starting 5 of all transfers is smart or dumb. I'm glad that our audience is smart given the proof of concept last night. 70% say that it is smart, only 30% saying it is done.
Dan Patrick
Well, I think smart or off putting because you might be bothered that that's how they built this team. I'm not because I don't know if there is. This is the standard way to build a team now because it used to be. Remember when Caliperi did it? Everybody go, oh, you're just going to take these kids for six months? He went, yeah, I'm bringing them in, see what we can do. Then I bring in another wave. And then all of a sudden Mike Shashevsky started doing it. And that's when everybody go, oh, okay. You know, yeah, even the great Mike Shashevsky was taking a one or doner. But you know, Coach Cal did that and he has talked about that because I even talked to him, you know, about this before, where he needed to surround some of the younger talent. And I think his approach is different at Arkansas than it was at Kentucky.
Paulie
Yes, Paulie, I do think the days of winning with a super duper freshman are kind of over. I don't know if you can have that one AJ debona and make it to the final game. And these coaches have no choice but to take a superstar freshman. Duke and BYU and Arkansas. But it seems like it actually hurts you and you'd rather have a bunch of 21 year olds.
Dan Patrick
Well, Duke should have won a national title the last couple of years with that talent that yes, you have won in Dunners, but still, you still have a pretty good roster. BYU didn't have a roster. They had one player. And then you spend five or six million dollars. There goes the budget. Also keep this in mind. You know, Dusty May went from Florida Atlantic to Michigan. Kurt Signetti, James Madison to Indiana. Even Danny Hurley left Rhode island to go to Yukon. None of these moves were, you know, I guess, treated with fanfare. Dusty, you know, going from Florida Atlantic of, you know, Final four team a couple of years ago to go to Michigan. But you know these coaches. It doesn't mean you have to get the biggest name. You got to get the right name. And these schools certainly benefited from that. Jalen Rose, part of the FOB 5. He is recently recently launched Same Page Entertainment, which he'll talk about as he gets ready to sit down. He was watching the title game from his hometown of Detroit. How you feeling today about your Wolverines?
Jalen Rose
I feel like a national champion. Dan, it's always great to see you enjoying the show. You a legend. You know how much I love and appreciate you and value everything you've brought to the game over the years on all in all aspects. So always an honor to be on the show and it's a great day to be a Michigan Wolverine. As a Detroit kid, the Pistons had a number one seed. We're going to get Cade Cunningham back for a playoff run. Just won the national championship in football a couple of years ago. Now we win it in basketball this year. I'm so happy for Dusty, man, the squad. It's a perfect day to boss up.
Dan Patrick
How will history remember this Michigan team as national champions?
Jalen Rose
You know, being a. A quote unquote football school and, you know, the team has won 12 or 13 national championships and has 120,000 people at the game every Saturday. You know, that's just going to be the standard. But there have been times, even when we were in college as the Fab Five, where Desmond Howard was also winning the Heisman Trophy. And so that's an expectation when we say leaders invest. That's a real thing at Michigan. And so there is a level of pride and excellence in, you know, not only being great at basketball, but being great at all of what we do.
Dan Patrick
Who was bigger on campus? Big men on campus, Fab Five or Desmond Howard?
Jalen Rose
Well, it's not fair to Desmond because it was five of them. We could be in a lot of places at a lot of times.
Dan Patrick
The way that coach built this team, I don't know if this is the future, but, you know, that makes it even more amazing is you're kind of taking pieces from all over the world and going, I can, I can put this puzzle together and have a magical run. Is this how teams are going to try to build their rosters in the future?
Jalen Rose
Absolutely. You saw Indiana do it in football this year, what's considered a basketball school. And all of a sudden, you know, they have a team of 23 year olds and they win, you know, the football College Football Playoff this year. And so for Dusty May, though, I think. I think he has the ability to do both, and that's what I really like about him. But in this case, turning the team around in two years, you bring in Yaxel Lindenborg, Big Ten player of the year from uab, and then you bring in Cadeau, who was at unc, and Morrow, who's at ucla. So a lot of moving parts. Mahrez Johnson, he was at Illinois, you know, and then the school invest in the team. You know, you put up the nil money, you create the budget, and all of a sudden Dusty puts his fingertips on it and becomes magical. And they did a terr job and they were the best team all season. And I was telling this to Jamal Mashburn about Arizona and how they were a great team, but, you know, I felt like they were a little handicapped because they didn't make the three.
Dan Patrick
The altcast with the Fab Five how much fun was that?
Jalen Rose
Like college kids, really. And. And it was really awesome because a lot of people may or may not recognize. That's really the third time since 1993 we've been in the same place at the same time. And one of them was early 2000s at my celebrity charity game I did in Chicago. Another time was when Michigan played in the finals against Louisville. And then one time when Juwan was coaching, we got a chance to go to a game in Ann Arbor. So, you know, to be back with Ray Jackson, Jimmy King, Juwan Howard and C. Webb and break bread and tell stories. It was a great opportunity for CBS and TNT and TruTV to bring us all together. And the fans seem to really enjoy it and probably will do more in the future.
Dan Patrick
What makes a team famous?
Jalen Rose
The public. It's almost like giving yourself a nickname. Initially, we didn't want to be called the Fab Five. We wanted to be called five times because as a fan of music, I knew that that was the Beatles, and then I'm a fan of rap. I knew that was Fab 5 Freddy. And so we didn't want to be called the Fab Five. But then the public wins out. And I'm glad the public was right. It's the exact same thing with anything el. You know, the impact you have on people and on the game speaks for itself. And so they determine all of that.
Dan Patrick
How much would it have cost Michigan in NIL when Fab 5 was coming to Michigan?
Jalen Rose
So here's the difference, as I learned just covering the game this year with, you know, Adam left, coach Amal Mashburn and Bruce Pearl is not only would we had the pay for play opportunity, which most players are taking advantage of, which is why you see so many players moving around, but we actually sold merchandise. Jerseys, shorts, socks, shoes, huaraches. Like we actually sold merchandise and helped with enrollment help with the popularity of the school. So couple that with, you know, pay for play nil money, we would have
Dan Patrick
made some pretty pennies talking to Jalen Rose, member of the Fab five, of course, longtime NBA player as well. Tell me what Same page Entertainment. What are we diving into?
Jalen Rose
Multimedia on Detroit based and I partner with Tom Gores, a good friend of mine for the Detroit Pistons. And we really bonded over our community work and wanted to give back to, you know, his song sound the Flint mind of Detroit, but also just the state of Michigan. Just highlight a lot of voices and talent and in all types of spaces, whether it's docu series, we have the number one show out right now to be called Software is high. Make sure you check that out. We also have a project out right now called Meal Ticket that we're consulting producers with this on Amazon. So really, it's going to be podcast, it's going to be multimedia, just creating quality content for the masses.
Dan Patrick
How many text messages did you get when bam Adebayo scored? 83.
Jalen Rose
You know, I probably like the rest of the world, none of us was watching that game first off, so I didn't. I didn't know it was happening. They were playing against the Wizards. Right. I didn't. I didn't know that was happening. But in context, you know, I want to give Bam a lot of credit for. For people who haven't played, just the endurance and the discipline it takes to do something consistently to get to that type of numbers. There's a reason why it hasn't happened in the history of the game, whether it's free throws and, yeah, it was a little funky at the end of the game when they were fouling and trying to get it for him. But if you think about it, it's no different. And I say this with all due respect. If the Cleveland Browns are trying to get Miles Garrett the sack record, they're going to try to help him make it happen at the end of the season, even if the team isn't playing for the playoffs. And so that's. That happens in sports a lot. A lot more than people realize. And so I was just happy for Bam. It's a terrific accomplishment. And I joked a lot because I feel like if he wasn't dating Asia Wilson, he wouldn't have never got there. So good for him.
Dan Patrick
Wait, why wouldn't he have got there?
Jalen Rose
Because I love her killer instinct and how she's been a multiple MVP and champion, and she brings it every game. So I feel like she's a motivating factor for his approach to the game these days.
Dan Patrick
Okay, but now nobody's. Now people aren't going to text you and say, can you come on the show on the anniversary of Kobe's 81? You don't have to worry about that anymore.
Jalen Rose
Well, I think I knew the entire time that, you know, when you're playing against greatness, you know, Tom Brady's going to throw six or seven touchdowns in the game. But the reality that people always forget because people keep using the word record, Will actually has it at 100. That's the actual record.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Jalen Rose
And so, again, rest in peace. Kobe lost him way too young, but it was. It's really an acknowledgment to Wilt's greatness as well, that he still has the record all of these years later.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but as you said, I didn't guard Kobe the whole game. People made it seem like you're. You're the. Nobody's bringing up anybody from the Wizards to say, man, this is going to stay with you because you guarded Bam out of bio when he had 83.
Jalen Rose
And I'll say this with humility, is because Jalen has become a common name in the marketplace. And so you can attach me to it. There's nobody on the Wizards you can attach to it.
Dan Patrick
But isn't it amazing the number of players in the NBA with the name Jalen? Is it like 28?
Jalen Rose
I'll tell you a secret. Not just the NBA. NFL, NCAA in society, at the. At the grocery store. And it's a blessing. And it's such a tribute to my. My late mom, who lost a handful of years, who combined my biological father James, with my uncle Leonard, who took her to the hospital to give birth.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, Jalen. I mean, if I do the math,
Paulie
you know, Paulie, before 1992, it wasn't in the top 500 boys names in America. Then it went to 378 and 92 and got up to the top 50 ten years later.
Dan Patrick
All right, Shaq's up there too, isn't he? Is there anybody else? LeBron's not up there.
Jalen Rose
So I got some fine print for those names. Shaq, LeBron, and Denzel, who all are all time greats at what they do. All of those kids are black. The one thing about the name Jalen is unisex is universal. Is it has no color lines or boundaries.
Dan Patrick
Are you sure there are not a lot of white guys named Shaquille?
Jalen Rose
No, I've never met one.
Dan Patrick
Paulie, would you. Would you check?
Paulie
Yeah, we're checking.
Dan Patrick
Check and see if there's a Shaquille white guy out there. Hey, great to talk to you. Good luck with same page entertainment. And congrats to your Wolverines.
Jalen Rose
I appreciate the love. Hell to the victims.
Dan Patrick
All right. That is Jalen Rose. That's good. You start to look at the numbers, you look at the mat. You know, do the math there. Yes.
Seaton
He. It's hard to explain, even as someone like, I'm not a Michigan fan, but there's something special about seeing that five together that gets me like, ah, here we go. There they are. And it's not. It's so unique. It's so rare. But just seeing those five guys together
Dan Patrick
just makes me feel good, you know, more impactful. Fab 5 or the running rebels of UNLV.
Paulie
Impactful, not better at basketball.
Dan Patrick
Well, UNLV won a national title. Fab 5 noticeably yeah, Fab 5 by far.
Paulie
To me, impact and coverage. I think the Fab Five was covered outside of sports.
Reggie Miller
Okay.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. I mean, it was cultural. Like that was different unlv, the way they played. But Michigan, it was more of the way they looked and the way they played as far as the style with the uniforms, with the baggy shorts. No apologies whatsoever. Yes. Marvin.
Reggie Miller
Yeah, I feel like Paulie brought it up earlier. Michigan, the Fab Five, you had to be there for it. I remember fourth grade rec league. I got black church socks because in 1994 Nike didn't have black socks. I wore church socks to a rec league game to be like the Fab Five.

Got a text message last night. Reggie says hey, I want to lead off my segment talking about the UCLA women's basketball team. I'm going. Okay, great. You filled out a bracket. Nobody else filled out a bracket. You filled out a bracket and you picked your alma mater to win the national title. That's not a big jump. What? Yes, it is a big jump. No, it's not.
Reggie Miller
No one had my if you listen to if you listen to the pre game of the women's championship. No one had ucla, even though they only had that one loss all season long. It was all there. There you go. Thank you. I picked all four Final four, which wasn't a stretch. They're all number one. Okay, that was, that was a little easy, but. But look, we know the talk coming into the championship game. What happened with Gino and Dawn and South Carolina. This is going to be a motivating thing. My girl said hold my beer. Hold on, hold on. That was, that was Beth. Belt, belt to booty. Come on.
Dan Patrick
Congratulations.
Reggie Miller
Thank you.
Dan Patrick
Congratulations.
Reggie Miller
Let's give the ladies some love. I know you want to talk about Michigan in the middle of the. Let's give my lady Bruins. Corey Close. Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, Gabrielle Hopkins, Gianna Neepkins. Let's give these seniors some love because I want to tell people experience matters, seniors matter. And them having those six seniors, they scored every single point.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I know.
Reggie Miller
Every single point came from seniors. I love that.
Dan Patrick
What stood out with Michigan's performance whether last night or in the tournament overall?
Reggie Miller
Oh, my goodness. Their size. Whoa. That was like low key and NBA type team right there. Their size was unbelievable. It was so hard to score anywhere in the paint. Not only all season long, but it was highlighted in this tournament. Unbelievable size, shot, blocking. But again, Elliot Cadeau, when you've got a guy that can run the offense, experience came over from, obviously from Carolina, have the best career there. But for whatever reason, it changed once he got to Michigan. Confidence wise, Dusty may instill, maybe instill that confidence in him, but when you've got a guy who can control the tempo, control the pace, be that, you know, the head of the snake along with that size, to me that's what stood out the most. Their defense and their size.
Dan Patrick
Your reaction to Michael Malone going to North Carolina was what good for him.
Reggie Miller
I was surprised that last year there were so many job openings in the pro game and he wasn't able to get one of them. And you talk about a basketball savant. I thought he got kind of railroaded when he was in Denver. This is a great job for him to kind of set pace and step back in life because NBA is go, go, go. I don't know how well the recruiting thing will be for him in nil and all that, but you're going to one of these blue blood type universities where I'm sure the bank will be open in terms of X's and O's in game management. He is one of the best. So it's, I think it's A great fit for him because now he gets the chance to kind of slow down a little bit as opposed to going 100 miles a minute in the NBA.
Dan Patrick
How involved do you think Michael Jordan is at Carolina with basketball?
Reggie Miller
I think he has a huge influence. I mean, he's their most famous athlete. Their team is repped by Jordan Brand. So I'm sure he had a say in it. I'm sure he did his due diligence. I'm sure he had his conversations with Michael Malone.
Dan Patrick
But does he resonate with a 17 year old?
Reggie Miller
They all wear Jordans.
Dan Patrick
Of course.
Reggie Miller
Everyone knows. Yes, absolutely.
Dan Patrick
But it feels like the 17 year old Kobe might resonate more with them than Mike. Maybe. Maybe LeBron would resonate more than Mike would. Is that fair?
Reggie Miller
Yeah, fair enough. I could, yes, fair enough. But at the end of the day.
Dan Patrick
But the parents. The parents would be like, Michael, yes, Mike. Mike's on the call.
Reggie Miller
But the kids. Kids are out there buying Jordans. As much as I love the bronze, they're not saying, I want a pair. They'll want Kobe's. They love Kobe's shoes, too. Kobe's has a huge following as well. So does LeBron. LeBron has a nice following, but in terms of shoe deals. Come on. Now we know.
Dan Patrick
And you have Jordans.
Reggie Miller
Why are you bringing this?
Dan Patrick
No, I was just curious because. Are you a sneaker?
Reggie Miller
Later in my career, I had Jordan. Okay, Later. Before I was just a regular Nike athlete.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Reggie Miller
Are you everyone else?
Dan Patrick
Are you a sneaker head?
Reggie Miller
No, I'm not.
Dan Patrick
You never collected.
Reggie Miller
No, I have. I have quite a few of the Jordan brands, but I'm not like, I got to get these. I'm not. I'm not die hard like some people are.
Dan Patrick
You know that. I was watching Joker and Wemby and it was a Saturday afternoon game. Oh, and it was so much fun to just watch that game because I love both of the players. But here is joker putting up 40 on the best defensive player in the game. And even there were shots where Wemby put his hands up. Like I said, I don't know what I can do with this. And you know, Wemby had a great game against Joker as well. SGA is winning the mvp, of course. But that was fun to watch. That was a late season battle. I don't know what was really at stake other than pride.
Reggie Miller
But I will say this. With the Lakers being hurt, I don't know if they can hold on to that. Number three seed, Dan. The Denver Nuggets move up and get that Three seed. How fun would that be? Knock on wood. They both handle their business in the first round.
Dan Patrick
Oh my goodness.
Reggie Miller
And we get those two juggernauts in the second round. San Antonio. But let me say this too. Wimby was guarding Jokic for most of the game. Yeah, Jokic was not guarding Wimby for most of the game. See, that's the difference. And this is why I do love Wimpy. He takes on the challenge. It's my responsibility to stop the best player on the other team, which is Yokids. I'm going to take that challenge. And look, Yokich has put up 40 on a lot of great players, just not Wimby. So it's hard to say, oh, he dropped 40 on Wimby, the supposedly the best, you know, defensive player. That's his job. He's going to contest. He's going to go against the best player each and every night. I like that he's not dodging the smoke at all.
Dan Patrick
Oh, hey, I acknowledge that I love Wemby, but Joker puts up 40 and own. He owns the team record against him and head to head matchup as well. He's still the by far and away the best offensive player in the game.
Reggie Miller
Yes, I agree. But you and I, I think we're in sync on who will win mvp. I think that'll be SGA and them
Dan Patrick
having Wemby will win an MVP before Joker wins another one. Wendy's having a better year. I mean, Joker's having a better year this year than he did in his MVP years.
Reggie Miller
But can I just say one thing?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, dude.
Reggie Miller
The dude is averaging a triple double as a center. He's leading the league in in assists and rebounds. And he's a top five scorer.
Dan Patrick
I know.
Reggie Miller
And he won't win mvp.
Dan Patrick
No, he's not.
Reggie Miller
I mean, think about what we're saying here.
Dan Patrick
But if they had a better record than he's winning the. That's what it comes down to.
Reggie Miller
I, I think this year SGA is putting up incredible numbers, but I think what will tilt towards him will be the overall number one seed. Was it. And again, this is coming off having the best record, going deep in the playoffs, going to seven games, winning finals mvp. And oh, by the way, you come back, what, two months later, maybe less than two months later, and you're doing it all over again. Let's give SGA and the Thunder a lot of credit for doing that.
Dan Patrick
Absolutely. We're talking to Reggie Miller. I didn't give you the proper introduction. Let's See, no need, no need. People know you got my Hornets at the Celtics coming up tonight. Howard, look, who's your rookie of the year.
Reggie Miller
I'm still going with Khan, but what Cooper Flag has done over the last week or so, 51 and then I think 45 against the Lakers. That's great and all, but Khan and his team, every game means something. I mean they've had the second best record I believe since January 22, only behind the Spurs. And if you look at their starting five, Lamelo, Brandon Miller, Khan, Miles Bridges, Musa Diabate, their plus minus by far, their starting five by far is superior than any other starting five since January 1st. This is one game and I'm glad we added it late in the season because when you watch the Hornets play, it's hard to kind of gauge their pace and their speed from television. So I'm curious because both of these teams tonight, they kind of are very similar. They both like to jack up a lot of threes. They live behind that three point line. They both are great offensive reboundings team and they're both great defensively. And March 4, the Hornets came in to Boston and put a whooping on Boston. Now again, Tatum came back a couple weeks later and they went to Charlotte and Juan, Boston did. So this could be a very, very well could be our first round matchup as well. So I think there's going to be some messages being sent from both teams.
Dan Patrick
Okay. I think Cooper Flag should be the rookie of the year. You're factoring in record for a rookie of the year award. We, we don't do that. We're doing it because that can tilt towards con cannipal. I think we're surprised at Knipple. We're not surprised at Cooper Flag. He plays on a bad team. Imagine being 19 years of age and everybody knows you're the guy who's going to have the ball and try to score. And he puts up 51 and 45. I really don't think it's close. I love Knipple. I do watch the Hornets play games, but Cooper Flag is leading an entire team every single night. There might not be good, but everybody in the building knows we have to stop him.
Reggie Miller
All fair invalid points, but also too, you've got a dude who is not only leading the league but broke the rookie record with 265 and counting made threes. Just go back last year for the Hornets. They weren't in this position. Khan comes in and it helps that Brandon Miller has been helped, been healthy. He was hurt. It helps that Lamelo ball has been healthy. But Con Kneble has added something to this Hornets team. I don't think it's a runaway for Cooper to win it. Let's give Khan some credit. 265 made threes as a rookie. It's not like he's just jacking them up. And he has a terrible shooting percentage. He has added a lot of stability for this Hornets team.
Dan Patrick
Okay, I brought this up and I need you to bring it up. Oh, next year. 50 years since the ABA merger.
Reggie Miller
Yes.
Dan Patrick
Okay. The Spurs.
Reggie Miller
You want me to bring it up on here like the red, white and blue ball.
Dan Patrick
Okay, here, just hear me out. Next season, one game. Spurs, Nuggets. Two original ABA teams. Old uniforms, red, white and blue ball. And you have ABA Night in the NBA. What do you think?
Reggie Miller
I absolutely love it. The only thing I would change in what you just said it would have to be spurs versus the Indiana Pacers. What are you talking about? Three ABA championships. Roger Brown.
Dan Patrick
I'm okay with that. I'm okay.
Reggie Miller
We're going with the spurs and the Indiana Pacers. Adam Silver, if you are listening. Theodore and Reginald Aloysius Miller. We want ABA Night. Spurs, Pacers. Oh, bring. And the. The cheerleaders and. Oh yes, let's do it.
Dan Patrick
Okay, but can I get. Okay, who the Nuggets got to be involved in this?
Reggie Miller
Is there still a only three ABA teams left that merged?
Dan Patrick
The Nets.
Reggie Miller
Yeah, but the Brooklyn. Yeah, we could do the Brooklyn Nets.
Dan Patrick
And I want guys to wear afros too. Like 50 years ago. Maybe mustaches, goatees or whatever. Tight shorts.
Reggie Miller
Wouldn't you love to see Jokic just run out for the layup line? Just with a big old Dr. J throw.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. I'd like 50 year anniversary.
Reggie Miller
I hope they're listening to us. That's one game.
Dan Patrick
You got the pulpit. Reggie, you're on the call tonight.
Reggie Miller
First Pacers. And we've got Nuggets, Nets.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Reggie Miller
Let's do it.
Dan Patrick
ABA night standalone. Those four teams play and it's ABA Night. Next year during the regular season.
Reggie Miller
More.
Dan Patrick
You know what we'll call it the
Reggie Miller
red, white and blue ball. That. That's Chef's Kiss.
Dan Patrick
Come on. And you know what we're going to call it? Throwback night.
Jalen Rose
Oh my goodness.
Reggie Miller
Okay, you're going a little too far.
Dan Patrick
Are you not? That's gold.
Reggie Miller
Look, I'm in for the warm up line. Wearing fake frozen. I'm in for all that. Come on.
Dan Patrick
God.
Reggie Miller
You're getting too gimmicky now. I like everything how we Set it up.
Dan Patrick
Tight short night.
Reggie Miller
Yes. That. Yes.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Reggie Miller
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
We. We just promoted his tight short night. John. John Stockton will. John Stockton, the old Blaze.
Reggie Miller
You know, the big lapel blazer.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah.
Reggie Miller
Oh, let's bring them back.
Dan Patrick
You could have Utah Jazz have the John Stockton shorts night. And the Jazz dress up like John Stockton the way he played.
Reggie Miller
I'm staying out of it. John. We're cool, right?
Dan Patrick
John was just dirty to everybody. Not just.
Reggie Miller
Yeah, he was.
Dan Patrick
He was dirty. I can't argue he was dirty. Reggie will be on the call. Noah Eagle tonight, My Hornets against the Celtics. That's 8 Eastern on NBC. And Peacock. Thanks, Reg.
Reggie Miller
Appreciate you. Theodore Seaton. You may be leaving. You're not gone, but you will never be forgiven.
Dan Patrick
You are.
Reggie Miller
My God. You and I started together in the trenches. We started together. You and I.
Dan Patrick
Wait, did you say he'll be gone but not forgetful, but never forgotten.
Reggie Miller
Gone but never forgotten.
Dan Patrick
I was like, what is forgetting?
Reggie Miller
No, he's gone but never forgotten.
Dan Patrick
Forgotten. Okay, forgotten. Why are we yelling? I don't know. Thanks, Reg.
Reggie Miller
Love you.
Dan Patrick
See? Go. Go shoot that regular. All right, we'll take a break. Last call for phone calls. What we learn what's in store. What? What? Paul?
Paulie
Throwback night.
Dan Patrick
I know. I loved it cold. Yeah. Yeah. Then he. Then he claims that I got gimmicky, but he was okay with the short, short night. Everybody has to wear Chuck Taylor Converse. That'd be nice.
Paulie
Broken ankle night.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Although nobody was breaking ankles back then when we were wearing Converse, Chuck Taylor's. And there were some high risers back then. All right, when we come back, Fritzi has his SportsCenter tees. More phone calls as well. What we learned, what's in store tomorrow.

Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred joining us tomorrow. We'll talk about the automated balls and strengths. Brandle Shamble. He'll join us from Augusta Weather. Looks like it's going to be great for the entire week.
Seaton
What's he in trouble for today?
Dan Patrick
Randall Shamblee. Nothing today.
Seaton
We usually call him whenever he's in trouble for something.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, when he said something. All right, Todd, I'll let you do your Sports center theme.
Todd
Am I being a past?
Dan Patrick
A little bit. I got to get through other things here. There are.
Todd
We've got only about five and a half minutes.
Dan Patrick
Okay. All right.
Jalen Rose
All right.
Reggie Miller
All right.
Dan Patrick
Here is Todd's Sports center tease.
Todd
Coming up on Sports center, they didn't know what was in stores for them. How April became May last night at Lucas Oil and did the top husky, Hurley arbor any ill will toward the officials a forlorn unicorn. Anyone have a spare rib for wincing Wemby? Here's a nugget. New home Malone. Michael moves into the chapel. But this will be a good marriage or not. Why Coach K grades the higher as a UNC minus will explain the Windy City clips an angel's wings but will be a dream or nightmare in Atlanta. And is the Red Sox first baseman okay with getting hit by a pitch? Oh, Contreras. We only have an undergraduate degree, but we're preparing for a master's. Sports center next.
Dan Patrick
About that. Round of applause for that. Oh, I like that, Todd. Yeah. Yeah. Paul.
Paulie
I hesitate to say this because it means he'll do it every week after this, but that may be his best one ever.
Dan Patrick
Ever.
Paulie
At least 12. Good play on words.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Yeah. I mean, there's usually one or two cringies, but for the most part, that was good.
Paulie
Arbor Ill will.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Okay, so Contreras has been hit 24 times by the same team, but Craig Bio has the all time record. I think the Rockies hit Craig bio 29 times. Like, at what point does it become personal? When? Like after the 20th time that I've been hit by this pitching staff. But I. I think so. Wilson Contreras was hit by a Brewer pitcher and he has been hit by Milwaukee pitchers 24 times in his career. Six more than any other active player by a single team. Yeah, it is. Craig BGIO hit 29 times by the Rockies pitchers. Yeah.
Paulie
Paulie Contreras.
Dan Patrick
Whoa. All right, all right. Thank you, Mark. No, no, I know. You're just doing your job. Brought to you by Panini America. Yes.
Paulie
Paul Contreras, 45th all time hit by pitches. Craig Bijio is the modern era leader.
Dan Patrick
In case you missed the big announcement about an hour ago, Seaton is adding another chapter to his DP show career. I think I'm trying to figure out how to explain it. Is that good? Adding another chapter to.
Seaton
Sure. Yeah.
Dan Patrick
I like that. Okay. You're staying in the house. We're just building onto the house.
Seaton
I'm just. Yeah, I'm still in the family. I'm just not reporting to duty here every day. I'm not going to do the radio show anymore.
Dan Patrick
Said duty?
Seaton
Yeah, duty.
Dan Patrick
Seaton's going to be developing digital content for us. He's going to be on the road, going to be traveling to different cities, hopefully the draft with us, super bowl with us, Tahoe with us, but doing other things that kind of suit what he wants to do. Bigger picture. Yes, Paul.
Paulie
I think they call it a pivot.
Dan Patrick
Oh, he's career.
Paulie
I've heard that.
Dan Patrick
Pivot. Okay, so Seaton's pivoting. Friday will be his last day, officially, technically, on the radio show. Yes.
Paulie
I am going to need something from Seaton. I could wait. Or I could ask for it now.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, ask for it now.
Paulie
As a producer, there's. I'm gonna lose a bunch of things with Seaton being gone. One of them that I'm really gonna need is a good variety of fake laughs for when things happen on this show. So, like. And then the preset. That's not my sausage.
Dan Patrick
Marvin, I think you need to have that sound effect ready.
Seaton
I was gonna say, unfortunately, I am taking it with me.
Reggie Miller
I know.
Seaton
I'm sorry. You guys are gonna appreciate it now, aren't you? Yeah, I'm sorry. I think the laugh is coming with me. No, very sorry.
Dan Patrick
When I left espn, they kept all my catchphrases. They owned everything. Intellectual property. I think they call that Barry in Long Island. Hi, Barry. Welcome back. Good morning, fellow. Good morning, Chat row. I wanted to congratulate Seaton. We're gonna miss hysterical cackle. And one more thing. I wanted to know if you can take Todd with you.
Seaton
Wow.
Todd
Gotta get that in with a minute
Seaton
and a half left.
Dan Patrick
Thank you, Barry. Very slow burn delivery.
Todd
The middle of Passover, too. He's got a higher person to deal with now,
Seaton
Todd. You only got a couple more days left of this, and then.
Todd
Yeah, they'll pick up the slack.
Dan Patrick
The rest of the group and Dylan's. Dylan's gonna be back there in Seaton's chair. That's good. This day in sports history, Paul.
Paulie
Let's do one 1963 at the age of 23. Jack Nicklaus, youngest golfer to win the green jacket at the Masters Tournament.
Dan Patrick
Here's one for you. This pitcher is credited with the first official save in Baseball History, 1969.
Paulie
Paul Mike Marshall.
Dan Patrick
No. Oh, that's okay. Not a bad guess. A little early for him, but same team, Dodgers. Bill Singer. Bill Singer. Todd, what'd you learn today?
Todd
Dusty May told us that Coach Knight used to mix Dr. Pepper and chocolate milk.
Dan Patrick
How refreshing for Bob Knight.
Seaton
Yeah, Seaton I've answered to many names over the years on this show, including Seaman. And right now the Internet seems to be calling me Seaton.
Dan Patrick
O' gonna.
Seaton
Ride that one out for the last three days, huh?
Dan Patrick
Thanks for joining us. We'll talk to you tomorrow.
