You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Final hour on this Wednesday. We got football tomorrow night on NBC and Peacock. It's the Chargers and the Lions. It's the hall of Fame game. And speaking of the Chargers, Philip Rivers and Justin Herbert set to join us on the program tomorrow. They won't be together. They'll be separate but current Charger quarterback and the past Charger quarterback. 8773 DP show we'll get some more phone calls. Final hour of the program. Stat of the DAY is always brought to you by Panini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. Matthew Stafford has delivered what the Rams envision when Sean McVeigh and the Rams went all in. They wanted to win a Super bowl title. He's 37 and now you're dealing with another season where he is banged up. Speculation soreness and you're not quite sure what's next for the Rams at this position. They signed Baker Mayfield in 2022. They drafted Stetson Bennett in 2023. They now are rolling the dice on Jimmy Garoppolo as a backup. And none of these are franchise quarterbacks. But you got two first round picks in 2026 and it's supposed to be a quarterback rich draft and Matthew Stafford might be in the last year but you wonder Sean McVeigh getting another younger quarterback and maybe staying in that job a little while longer because I thought Sean might go and do TV and There's always that chance that he could do tv. But you got devonte Adams, I mean, you do Puka Nakua, you got some good defensive players, got a good running back. And it feels like the season hinges on Matthew stafford at age 37. But do you know that this is kind of the last year for Matthew Stafford? Do you prepare accordingly with those two first round draft picks? The question is, where are those draft picks going to be? Because if you kind of play well, then maybe you're in the 20s. If you don't play well, you're definitely going to be in the market for a quarterback. Yes, Paulie.
Marvin
It does seem though, if you're a Rams fan, the division is winnable. You got the Seahawks with always a quality team. They won 10 games. But is Sam Darnold for real?
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but they don't have Tyler Lockett, they don't have DK Metcalf.
Marvin
Right.
Dan Patrick
You know, you know that's. Yeah, they have Sam Darnold.
Marvin
The Cardinals are a coin flip whether they're going to be above or below 500.
Dan Patrick
I think they're going to be good this year. I do.
Marvin
And then the Niners 6 and 11 last year with all those injuries.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I could see that flipped. Yeah, but you got to have Christian McCaffrey there. You know, your, your receiving core has got to step up. You know, Ricky Pierce, all you got Brandon Iuk, you know, so you still got some marquee players on defense. They should be the class of, of that division. But if Matthew Stafford's healthy, then, you know, I like the Rams chances again to win that division. But yeah, you start to look at, you know, guys, that one guy on each team like that guy, if he doesn't play or he plays well, what it means. And look, they, they went toe to toe with the Eagles last year to go to the NFC title game. But if you start to look at that team, that's a 37 year old quarterback who's got a lot of mileage there and is going to battle trying to stay healthy ish this year. And then you got two first round picks coming up next year. Now they were the team that I thought, if you're looking at Arch Manning, that may be working with Sean McVeigh. Pukinakua, you know, you're playing in Los Angeles. You know, we don't know much about Arch Manning other than the, you know, the family lineage here of quarterbacks. But you know, as far as playing for a great team or, you know, organization, you know, the Rams are a great organization and to have Sean McVeigh as your, you're kind of Mr. Miyagi, your sensei, that could go a long way. But I don't. Once again, I don't think Arch Manning is coming out this, this one year. And that's why I didn't think the Cleveland Browns and Nick Saban and Arch Manning. Okay, for all of that to work, you have to end up with the number one pick in the draft. I don't think they're the worst team in the NFL. I think the Giants are based on their schedule and we went through that schedule. You know, they get the Saints and I don't think they have a real easy, another easy opponent for the first nine games of the season in games that they're expected to win. I don't know how many games the Giants would be favored in this year. I don't know if we can find that out. I'm going to guess they're. They're not going to be favored in any game this year to start the season is the Saints game in New Orleans because they got, they, they have the Eagles and then they have an opponent and then they have the Eagles again. They got the Chiefs, Cowboys. I mean, it's a pretty tough right out of the gate. Commanders are in there as well. Yes, Todd, I see the Giants at the Saints. Yeah, I don't, I don't know if the Giants are going to be favored. They might not be favored the first at least nine games of the season. So they could be the worst team. But they drafted Jackson Dart, their first round draft pick. Yeah, Paulie.
Marvin
Yeah. You can get some early future lines on games and I found one where the Saints are favored in that game.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if the Giants will be favored in a game this year. Yes, Marvin.
Paul Pabst
So if the Giants have the number one pick, New Manning. I'm already starting. Sorry, guys.
Dan Patrick
If, if Arch is available. But once again, how much time. When does Arch have to announce? Let. Let's just say let, let's go crystal ball here. Let's say Texas plays great. Let's say they're in the national title picture. Arch plays great. Maybe a Heisman finalist invited to New York. When does he have to declare when. So the NFL regular season is over. We're going to know what the draft order would be of worst teams in football. He's got plenty of time, you would think, to be able to get information on if he's going to go pro or not. Let's say the Saints. Saints. I don't think are going to be. Well, Saints got a really good offensive line and maybe in that division. Maybe. I know.
Marvin
Chopping up the Saints O line.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Marvin
You can do some film work.
Dan Patrick
Well, they have. They're all first round picks, I think, except for one of the guys. Oh, we got music attached to this.
Marvin
Merrill Hodge and Jaws with you.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Breaking this down. But they, they've used first round picks on offensive linemen. The other guy might be a second or third round pick. But. Yeah, if I'm Arch Manning, do I want to play for my hometown team? Would I want to play for the Giants? Would I want to play for the Browns or would I want to go back to the University of Texas? I'm going to guess he's going to stay two years there. That's why it just sounded preposterous that Nick Saban is. Is going to come back based on getting Arch Manning. They have to get Arch Manning first. And then you say to Saban, do you want to come in and coach? Because I don't think Saban's going to go. All right, I'm going to take this job and hopefully we'll get Arch Manning. Yes, Mark. Yeah.
Paul Pabst
Because Nick Saban's known as the quarterback.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, exactly.
Paul Pabst
With Jake Coker and Blake Sims.
Dan Patrick
Whoa, look at you. Look at you. All right, time to play the Travis Hunter game. I don't know what the Travis Hunter game is. Oh, is this the percentage of offensive plays and defensive play kind of spoiled it there. Oh, okay.
Marvin
So the Travis Hunter game is this. He was basically 51% offense, 49 defense at Colorado. Approximately his ratio plays.
Dan Patrick
It was.
Marvin
Yeah.
Dan Patrick
Like, why had him at, like, he.
Marvin
Played a lot of both, but he.
Dan Patrick
Played over 80% offense and over 80% defense.
Marvin
Right. He played just a touch more offense than he played defense at Colorado. Just a touch.
Dan Patrick
But he did play almost all of the plays.
Marvin
So he played like 88% of all.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Okay, okay, okay.
Marvin
What is Travis Hunter's ratio of plays offense to defense?
Dan Patrick
I'm going 80% defense, 20% offense. Satan.
Seton O'Connor
Is this by the end of the season? Correct, by the end of the year.
Marvin
End of the regular season. We'll check back on this.
Seton O'Connor
All right, I'm gonna say it's 90 10.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Marvin.
Paul Pabst
I'm gonna go 65% defense, 35 offense.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Todd.
Eddie
I'm gonna go 67 defense, 33 offense.
Dan Patrick
Paul.
Marvin
I will go 63% defense. Doing the math, 37% offense.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Marvin
Here's the thing I wanted to bring up. If they limit his Offense. And the offense was ranked for the Jaguars, 27th in the league last year. And they spot him on the offense and they struggle. That's not going to go over well with him. And the fans. Fans aren't concerned about player safety.
Dan Patrick
Well, what were they defensively?
Marvin
27Th. They stink at both.
Dan Patrick
Wait, they were 27th in both? Yeah.
Marvin
So they're consistent.
Dan Patrick
Okay. But you can't say we're going to rob Peter to pay Paul.
Marvin
But if he played 90% of the defensive snaps and 60% of the offense, people are going to complain when he's not on the field. If they struggle on offense, okay.
Dan Patrick
But when they give up touchdowns and he's not on defense, then they're going to get upset at that as well.
Marvin
I think he's playing 90% of the defensive snack.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Seaton.
Seton O'Connor
Yeah. I think just from what I've read, that Travis Hunter seems to be a better defensive player than he is. Offensive player.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Seton O'Connor
And I think if you play him too much on offense, he's going to be bad on defense. So I think they're eventually going to be forced to choose a lane and stick it, stick with it. And I think it's probably going to be defense.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Stay in your lane. Yes. Todd.
Eddie
Well, you also have a quarterback with lovely blonde hair, but not a lovely game, and he's been getting a lot of criticism, and we're not sure what Trevor Law Lawrence is or what he's going to be. So all the more reason to try to, at some point get Travis in the offensive mix a little more than he normally would. If there was a quarterback that we had a better, stronger feeling about.
Dan Patrick
Why. Why are we factoring it in his hair?
Eddie
I was just playing off of lovely, lovely blonde hair, but not a lovely game of football.
Dan Patrick
The last couple bald guys always go after sensitivity.
Seton O'Connor
They always go after the guy with the hair.
Eddie
But if there's all these question marks about your quarterback and he's not living up to expectations, now this guy comes in who can play both. I think you got to sprinkle in a little more offense than you would if he was already established by now.
Dan Patrick
Well, you're bringing a guy who was the offensive coordinator with the Buccaneers and did a wonderful job with Baker Mayfield. Now he's your head coach in Jacksonville. And maybe he leans a little bit more to Travis Hunter offensively just because of that.
Eddie
That's quite possible.
Dan Patrick
Thank you. Back to you in the studio. Thank you. Do we have a new poll question for the final hour of the program?
Seton O'Connor
Yeah, we got up there. One from Marvin. Marvin Tino team whose off season will be more interesting than their regular season. Browns, Cowboys, Steelers, other.
Dan Patrick
Browns, Cowboys, Steelers, others.
Seton O'Connor
Yeah, their off season is more interesting than their regular season.
Dan Patrick
Okay. Yeah.
Paul Pabst
Marv, this happened last year. We talked to Cowboys during the off season and during the regular season. We may have maybe talked about the Cowboys in the first segment on Monday Morning show. I don't know, two, maybe three weeks out of the 17 games when they.
Dan Patrick
Were seven and 10.
Paul Pabst
That's what I'm saying.
Dan Patrick
Had injuries. They.
Paul Pabst
Sorry.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. And never they could have. Derek Henry wanted to play for the Cowboys. He lives in Dallas. He wanted to play for the Cowboys and that's where I kept going. You. You know, sometimes you can't afford a player, but maybe a better business decision with some of the contracts and signing them early frees up more money and they could have had Derek Henry. And imagine if Derrick Henry was with the Cowboys. Dax healthy. You got CD Lamb and Micah Parsons will eventually be in camp. All right, now you got people's attention there, but it wasn't that much of a difference of what they. What Derrick Henry wanted or what he signed for with Baltimore. Maybe in what Dallas would have been able to offer him if they had a few extra dollars freed up.
Paul Pabst
Yes, Marv, see how much more interesting it is talking about them in the off season and hypotheticals.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I think it's a great question because the Steelers with TJ Watt, you trade away Minka, Fitzpatrick, you got obviously with Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf coming. I mean, that was a lot for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh usually doesn't make headlines in the off season like that. The Cowboys are always there. So I'm kind of numb to that. It feels like it. This stuff gets done. It's just. It's messy when it gets done. It's like a recipe. And you go, yeah, I don't really go by the book. You know, I just kind of throw it together and then it somehow turns out okay. So Cowboys, Steelers, Browns. And the Browns is, you know, like Miles Garrett. Okay, Sanders. Yeah. But I don't even know what that means. They. They've gotten a lot of attention only because it's Shador Sander. I don't know what. How it impacts their season. So are they going to be more interesting in the off season? And guess is what the question is. Yes, probably. So Cowboys, are they more interesting? I don't find them interesting in the off season. Like, it's repetitive. You just kind of change names. The Steelers, I would go with The Steelers might be hard to live up to all of the headlines that they made. Yes.
Eddie
Todd, as exciting and interesting the storylines are with the Steelers, don't you feel like if they're just going to be 9 and 8 again or maybe 10 and 7, that they're not going to be like a 13, 14 win team? They're not going to be.
Dan Patrick
No. That's why I said that they're more interesting in the offseason.
Eddie
I guess I'm just agreeing with you and giving my opinion on why. I was just kind of elaborating on that.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Eddie
They're going to just be that same team. Maybe they'll get one more win. I don't see them being significantly better.
Dan Patrick
So just.
Eddie
You're kind of jumping on your.
Dan Patrick
You're reiterating.
Eddie
Yeah. In my own words.
Dan Patrick
So what I iterated paraphrasing. All right. Thank you. Yes. Yes. Paul.
Marvin
I'll throw out a team that it's a. Miami Dolphins, don't make the playoffs or improve. I think they're gonna be a hot topic in the off season, the restructuring there.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but that's. That's next season.
Marvin
Yeah. I thought Marv was talking about what's upcoming.
Dan Patrick
No, this offseason. To this season. Right. That's what this was.
Paul Pabst
Yes. This offseason.
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Paul Pabst
We've talked about these three teams a lot. I don't want to put the Bengals in here because I think the Bengals are going to be incredibly interesting. That's why I didn't put them in there.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. Yeah. The Dolphins are good. If they don't make the playoffs, it's going to be a mess. Well, they're going to clean up, you know, your head coach, your gm, your quarterback, Tyreek Hill as well. I mean, it may be. See you. But. Yeah. As far as offseason to regular season. Yeah. Steelers had a lot of headlines, and I think because it's rare that they have this many headlines, that's why they stood out. You know, the Brown situation. Yeah. With Shador, but that was it. Miles Garrett, he was going to get paid or he was going to get traded. Nothing else really attached to that. And then the Cowboys, it just feels like this is the way it goes every off season. Yes. Yes.
Eddie
Tom, if this was to go sideways for the Steelers, who's going to take more flack? I'm sure they'll share it. But Aaron Rodgers, Mike Tomlin, what happens at the end of a year that just goes poorly? No playoffs. They're 7 and 10 or something like that. What are they going to say about these guys?
Dan Patrick
Well, I think Mike Tomlins, that seat is, is hot nationally. It's really hot locally because it's like, hey, great, we, we're over 500. Hey, we got into the playoffs. Hey, we didn't win another playoff game. They're loyal to their coaches but at some point, if they don't make the playoffs this year, dot dot dot, even if they make the playoffs, don't win a playoff game. Like it just feels like there's a, there's a lot, you know, Rogers, maybe his last year, if they don't make the playoffs, Mike Tomlin, does he get out? You know, maybe his voice is stale in that locker room. But locally, I don't think you can go through another season and not win a playoff game. We'll take a break. We'll come back after this Dan Patrick Show. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick show, weekdays at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Hey, we're Covino and Rich, Fox Sports radio every day, 5 to 7pm Eastern. DraftKings just sent me NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds and the Favorite is Aiden Hutchinson coming off the injury. Then it's Micah Parsons, Miles Garrett, TJ Watt, and Trey Hendrickson. Now, if Micah Parsons isn't paid this year, he would be my pick for the defensive player of the year. Aiden Hutchinson, the season cut short with an injury. Miles Garrett got paid, T.J. watt got. If Trey Hendrickson doesn't get paid, his odds would be a little bit better. That motivation for defensive player of the year. I was flipping through the channels last night and all of a sudden I stumbled upon Fight Club. And they, they got me. And I'd seen it before a few times, but Tyler Durden, Brad Pitt's character, that's a great one. That's an old timer. And then you throw in, you know, Meatloaf does a cameo in there. Helena Bonham Carter is spectacular in that.
Seton O'Connor
He is great.
Dan Patrick
Ed Norton, Ed Norton's great. The way it's shot, it's dark, it's gray. And there's a scene early where Ed Norton and Helena Bonham Carter are divvying up all of these self help groups that they're going to go to and you know, like a cancer group and just they're running down the list of all these different self help groups they go to each night. And, and they don't need the help in these self help groups, but they're splitting up all these places that they're going to. And there's a lot, there's a lot going on in Fight Club. But if you look back on the commentary, the social commentary of what they're saying, then a lot of that played out. And they're taking a shot at Gen X, you know, all the, you know, corporations taking over the world? Yes.
Paul Pabst
Marvin, Is that the film? Film, Is that the film where people started taking Brad Pitt seriously as a great actor instead of just maybe like a heartthrob?
Dan Patrick
He came off as a heartthrob in that too. I'm gonna guess. He did. Yeah. Certain, certain group of people probably would look at that and go, wow. Yeah.
Paul Pabst
Two things can be true.
Dan Patrick
Yes. I don't know if there was a movie where all of a sudden you go, oh, he can act like this happens to Sandler all the time when he does his, you know, like, what was it? Hidden gems? He should have. Uncut gems. He should have been nominated for an Academy Award. And look, I'm biased. That was a great, great performance. But it feels like, I don't know if Brad Pitt had a moment where you go, okay, guy can act. Yeah.
Marvin
Paulie, Fight Club came out in 1999, leading up to that, Brad Pitt was in seven. Very well reviewed. Yeah, that's a big one for him. In 1995 he was in 12 Monkeys, which was Cool Sleepers, the Devil's Own, Seven Years in Tibet, Meet Joe Black, and then Fight Club. It's a nice run.
Dan Patrick
Fight Club was great. Yeah, Fight. Fight Club was. Wait a minute. What are they doing? And the fact that whenever, wherever Brad Pitt would go in the movie, and then he'll see somebody like at the diner and then they'll just give the look and then the look. Because you know the first rule of Fight Club and it was, boy, that's one of those. You just have to settle in and, and watch it start to finish. And. And I don't know if it's kind of like Inception. Like there's certain movies where it only works that first time. It doesn't work. But it did work for me the next time around. But then the Bourne Identity always works for me. No matter where it is in the movie, I'm watching it. Except for the one where Jeremy Renner was. Was in it. And Jeremy Renner is a fine actor, but he's not Matt Damon. He's not Jason Bourne. Are we playing a movie? Game off. Fight Club.
Marvin
We played this game before. Dan, are you ready? You brought up Fight Club?
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Marvin
Here we go. Is Fight Club good? Great. All Timer, eh? Or stinks? Those are your options.
Dan Patrick
I'd say it's a great movie. Great movie. I don't know if it's. I don't know what old timer means. I don't think it's something that you watch over and over. I mean, you can like the fight scenes, but I, I don't know if it's one of those where I go, hey, like, Bull Durham comes on. I'm watching it. Just him. Animal House comes on. I'm watching it. Born Identity. I'm watching it. Yes, it might.
Seton O'Connor
I might be a little bit of like a cult movie follower. This. I think it's an all time great, but I understand if people don't think that. But for me, it really like captures a moment in time, you know, and like you were saying too, it has this quality as a movie that you could almost feel it like if you reached out and touched the screen, you would feel the like grit behind it. I think it's an all time great. Pretty disturbing to watch modern day, but I think it's all time.
Dan Patrick
Anybody want to put it on the all time list there? Aside from Seton Paul, I lean Towards.
Marvin
All Timer because it's really original, unique. It's not like anything else before or after. The creativity level is fantastic.
Dan Patrick
The social commentary is what's so sneaky in all of it that you're like. Visually, it's arresting, but the social commentary is there, the undercurrent is there. Yes, Marvin Havid is great.
Paul Pabst
Alzheimer's for me is like Shawshank. But I still think Fight Club is great.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, it kind of depends on your definition of all time greats. Okay. How many movies do you say that's an all time great movie?
Seton O'Connor
Dumb and Dumber.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, and Dumb and Dumber, too.
Paul Pabst
Dumb and Dumber.
Dan Patrick
Although I will say, when Dumb and Dumber is on, I watch.
Seton O'Connor
Of course you do. Every single time.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, it's. It's.
Seton O'Connor
It's great because it's an all time great.
Dan Patrick
It's. It's a. It's a great movie. But Jeff Daniels makes it a great movie. Jim Carrey didn't surprise me. Jeff Daniels, comedic chops, that surprised me. And you bring in my former girlfriend, Lauren. Holly. And presto. Change. Oh, you got box office magic.
Marvin
Yes, Paul, I think we stumbled upon it. Seaton and I were saying if you could rewatch it anytime and you enjoy rewatching it years later, that makes it all timer. Even if it's a goofy comedy or a serious movie.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, but I don't want to watch Citizen Kane again. Exactly.
Marvin
So.
Dan Patrick
But it's considered the greatest movie of all time.
Marvin
Overrated.
Dan Patrick
Gone with the Wind. I don't need to watch Gone with the Wind anymore. Yes.
Seton O'Connor
Is this our hall of Very Good? Like we're stumbling on a new category. It's not all time great. It's anytime great. Anytime it's on, you watch it. It's an anytime great movie. Not all time great. Dumb and Dumber is an anytime great. Every Bourne movie. Anytime great.
Dan Patrick
Stripes. Isn't anytime great? Oh, heck, yeah. Stripes comes on. I'm watching that. Kingpin. Kingpin. When that comes on, I'm watching that. I. I watched Die Hard the other day.
Marvin
Good for you.
Dan Patrick
Die Hard. Anytime On. In fact, all of the Die Hard movies. When they come on, I'm watching. You know, but the original. I'm watching. Todd, do you have a suggestion?
Eddie
I'm more of Goodfellas. The Shining, Sounds of the Lambs.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Eddie
Can't get enough of Wild Things for certain segments.
Dan Patrick
Of course you can.
Eddie
That those like. I'll end up getting stuck on that Willy Wonka.
Dan Patrick
What if you miss the.
Seton O'Connor
Gotta admit, Todd, that is a weird combination that you just threw out wild things for certain reasons. And then Willy Wonka.
Eddie
I like all kinds of different genres. There's certain movies that come on. It's like, I'll. I'll stick with that.
Dan Patrick
Wizard of Oz. I will watch no matter if it comes on. I'm Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life. Those are. I'm watching no matter what.
Seton O'Connor
It's a Wonderful Life for me is all time. It's weird because I'll put it. For me, it's like, you know, Goodfellas, Animal House, It's a Wonderful Life, Dumb and Dumber.
Marvin
Classic list.
Dan Patrick
But Ralphie and Christmas Story, I'm watching that. Yeah. Paul Gladiator. No.
Marvin
No. Oh, very watchable. Saving Private Ryan.
Dan Patrick
No. Oh, no. That's tough to watch. War Movie. Nah. Yes. Marvin.
Paul Pabst
For me, I got Ace Ventura and Coming to America. No matter what part of the movies those are in, I'm watching the first. Ace Ventura is so good.
Dan Patrick
It is great. Courtney Cox looking great in there.
Paul Pabst
Jim Carrey was like 96 Jordan in 1994.
Dan Patrick
Ooh.
Paul Pabst
You do Ace Ventura, the Mask and Dumb and Dumber in the same year.
Dan Patrick
Dang. And you go out with Lauren Holly.
Paul Pabst
Oh, you're Michael Jordan plus Steph Curry plus LeBron James if that's the case.
Dan Patrick
And I joke about Lauren Holly being a girlfriend, but I. I went to see the Cubs and she was dating Mark Grace. I. I guess I should put dating in parentheses with dating Mark Grace. There are probably a few people dating Mark Grace at the time, but I remember she sat out and left sort.
Seton O'Connor
Of a Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson situation. Can't tell if they're promoting the game or if they're actually.
Dan Patrick
There was something. Yeah, they. Yeah, there was something going on there. But I just remember I was in left field, and she had had a couple of drinks, and next thing I know, she's calling my answering machine at Sports center and leaving me a message while I'm sitting next to her, you know, saying it's the greatest day of her life. And that's when Mark Grace. I made fun of his lack of speed. He stole second base out of nowhere, and then he was kind of getting the dirt off his pants, and then he, like, was pulling down his pants a little bit right towards me in left field. But Lauren Holly, she was. She was a rock star. And I remember being at Mark Grace's. I. The statute of limitations as well, gone. Here I was at Mark Grace in the Cubs first basement, his condo, which was about five blocks, six blocks away from Wrigley Field. And I remember we were going to go to dinner downtown and I. The. The album. Moby's album. What? Play? Yeah, you can hear it upstairs. It's loud. And then Grace, Mark Grace goes, hey, go tell Lauren that we're gonna go to dinner. So I walk up and Lauren, Holly is doing yoga to Moby's song. And she has this see through onesie on doing yoga. And I, of course, don't want to interrupt her doing yoga. So I had to stand there for a little while to watch her do yoga.
Marvin
Very thoughtful of you.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, I didn't want to press stop while she was pressing play and you know, so we then went. Went to dinner. Mark Grace. Yeah, I reached out to Gracie yesterday. He lost his teammate, Ryan Sandberg, and he was. He was pretty beat up yesterday. Sad day for him. Let me see any other. Let me sneak in. Danny in Florida. Hi, Danny.
Wyatt
Hello, Dan. Thanks for taking my call.
Dan Patrick
Sure, Danny.
Wyatt
Long time listener, first time caller.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Wyatt
6Ft, 175. So I was listening to your conversation about the Beatles and I wanted to extend that conversation a bit. You had mentioned that they were great and their influence was extensive, even into other musical genres. Well, I thought about that and a great example of that is that as recently as just a few months ago, Ozzy Osbourne praised the influence of Paul McCartney on his music in a melodic sense.
Dan Patrick
Okay, well, thank you, Danny. Like, you don't have to convince me that the Beatles were influential.
Seton O'Connor
Yeah, I think Ozzy has said many times that the Beatles were a huge, you know, influence for him.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. Yes, Todd, I think I may have.
Eddie
Changed my mind now about the Beatles based on this Ozzy thing.
Dan Patrick
Wow. You know what, Todd? Why? You know what, Todd?
Seton O'Connor
You think you're so great.
Dan Patrick
See, this is where I pick on you. I know.
Eddie
I just got moved by that story about. I'm like, maybe I'm missing something. Now I'm realizing I'm coming to my senses musically.
Dan Patrick
This is why I berate you when you do this, because you're making fun of the situation.
Eddie
It's exactly.
Dan Patrick
Danny called in. He was nice. He was sincere. He was. Ozzy just passed.
Eddie
It was mean spirited on all various, various levels. There was no need for that.
Dan Patrick
Yes, Marvin.
Paul Pabst
Sorry. Completely unrelated to Todd.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Paul Pabst
Two more Alzheimer's okay for me.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
Paul Pabst
Philadelphia.
Dan Patrick
Forrest Gump and you can't watch Philadelphia over and over.
Paul Pabst
I can watch Philadelphia.
Dan Patrick
No, you can't. Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks, Antonio Bandaros.
Paul Pabst
It's not working. It's not working. It's so good. That's like Kobe and LeBron on the same team. Denzel and Tom Hanks.
Dan Patrick
But you can't watch that over and over.
Paul Pabst
I can't. I skipped the end.
Dan Patrick
Forrest Gump. You can. Lieutenant Diane. Yes, Mark.
Paul Pabst
One of the great villains. Jenny.
Dan Patrick
I know.
Paul Pabst
She was the worst.
Dan Patrick
I know. Jenna. She toyed with his emotions.
Marvin
She really did string him along for decades.
Dan Patrick
Yes. Sick of that. Sick of it.
Paul Pabst
This is your. This is your baby.
Dan Patrick
Forest.
Paul Pabst
Oh, you found I was a millionaire. Oh, now all of a sudden I'll have a baby by you.
Dan Patrick
Yes, Todd.
Eddie
The actual party. Something I would have a tough time turning away from if I jumped in on Tom Hanks and 20 contain in the middle of that movie.

Eddie
I rather not. But you've been known to put me on the spot and do impersonations or say, do you know we have someone on the show here that thinks you're a big whiner during your career. Todd, you want to say something to Philip? I wouldn't put it past you to do that.
Dan Patrick
And what would you say to Philip Rivers?
Eddie
I'd totally downplay it and be a phony and say, yeah, I'm a big Bronco fan and it just looked like you were complaining a little more than the usual average quarterback complains on a officials calls. And I would leave it at that.
Dan Patrick
Okay, well then I'll leave it at that as well. I won't say anything like that. You have my.
Eddie
Yeah, okay.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, my word. Wyatt in Florida. Good morning Wyatt. What's on your mind today?
Wyatt
Morning, Dan. Good morning guys. Second time caller, long time listener. 5:10, 190. I just had a comment about the all time, all time movies but first I wanted to say how great of a job I thought you got. You did with Happy Gilmore too. Just a pure class act and a natural.
Dan Patrick
Thank you wife.
Wyatt
But as far as movies, I got two. My fiance wanted to throw one in there if you don't mind. My two would be Hook and Waterworld. When those movies are on, I'm always watching. And my fiance wanted to mention Twilight. Give a shout out, shout out to the Twilight Saga. That's all I got. Appreciate it, guys.
Dan Patrick
Wyatt, do not invite me over for movie night. Please don't invite me over. Zach and Hartford. Hi Zach. What's on your mind today?
Wyatt
Hey guys, thanks for having me. 57140 I wanted to go over the greatest movies and I wanted to add jaws. It's its 50 year anniversary this year.
Dan Patrick
I believe that's an all time great.
Wyatt
I also wanted to put the Departed on that list as well as the Rocky movies.
Dan Patrick
I can't. I hate the Departed. Jack Nicholson's accent was terrible.
Paul Pabst
What can I use you for?
Dan Patrick
He would have his accent in one scene and then he wouldn't have it in another. Even the end where everybody's getting shot at the very end, I, I actually laughed out loud because I kept thinking, okay, are they done shooting each other? And then all of a sudden there's one more victim at the very end. The Departed is not good at all. Great cast, not a good movie.
Marvin
Yeah, Paulie, it feels great, but it also feels like it has hokey moments that like prevent it from being great.
Dan Patrick
You know, Nicholson's one of the great actors of all time. I just didn't think he was great. This Whitey Bulger. Matt Damon's in there. Mark Wahlberg, DiCaprio. DiCaprio is always good. Jaws is a great movie, but it's not one of those. If it's on, I'm watching it. Like I, I'm not, I'm not interested in revisiting it. Not, not, not, not going to do it. 8773 DP Show Email address dpatrick.com Twitter handle @dp so Dylan. Hi Dylan. What's on your mind today?
Wyatt
Hey Dan, thanks for taking my call. How you guys doing? Congratulations on the new role at Hobby Gilmore too. I want to change the subject from movies to sports. I wanted to get your guys opinion on my prediction for the 2035 MLB standings.
Dan Patrick
So 2035 prediction from Dylan in Orlando.
Wyatt
Yes. My prediction is that the two expansion cities will be Nashville and Charlotte. That the Angels are going to relocate to Salt Lake City. I think that's a huge fan base for them already with their triple, the Triple A affiliate, they can really get a good fan base there. I think the Athletics will officially move into Las Vegas. I think you need to split up the division from three teams to five to four teams of four. And the Colorado Rockies will relocate to the American League to make the standings even.
Dan Patrick
I'll check back with you in 10 years.
Eddie
Dylan, deep dive.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, thank you for the phone call, but I don't understand why you would move a team to a city where you have your triple A team there because then you take away your triple A team. Now granted you're gonna have more people coming to watch a major league team, but do you want to move to Salt Lake because you have a AAA team there. But the other ones, Nashville. Feels like Nashville is getting a baseball team at some point. I would love to. I, I wish Montreal still had a baseball team. Yeah, a lot of politics that went into that but you know, these teams in South Florida, do they really care about the Rays and the Marlins is there. That's a, it feels like, you know, we're gonna, we're playing the long game here and eventually you're going to come around and you're going to build a stadium and love these teams. I just don't know if it's there and if you can get another. You know, Portland's been a site that they've brought up before so I don't know if there's expansion as much as maybe relocation. The A is obviously going to Vegas, but Colorado leaving, I haven't heard anything of that. But yeah, we'll miss the mile high altitude there. Yes, Marvin.
Paul Pabst
But didn't teams in Florida seem like a good idea?
Dan Patrick
Yes, but they're a great idea during spring training. I don't know if it's, you know.
Paul Pabst
When it's, when it's 8, 000 people at a game, it's great.
Dan Patrick
Yeah. March. I just don't know if that's, I love spring training but you know, as far as, hey, let's go see the Marlins play. Yes, Marvin.
Paul Pabst
And also you're in Florida, you're in Tampa. You're watching the Red Sox and the Yankees play, not the Rays or if.
Dan Patrick
They come to town to play the race of the Marlins. Yes.
Chelsea Handler
Todd, do we think the average Florida.
Eddie
Sports fan is far more interested in their hockey teams than their baseball teams just because of performance?
Dan Patrick
Well, they're, they, they play for championship.
Eddie
All about the Panthers and lightning and.
Dan Patrick
Could care less about this day in sports history.
Marvin
Paul 1930 Dan Uruguay won soccer's first World Cup. They beat Argentina 4 2. In 1966, England's soccer team won the World Cup.
Dan Patrick
Let's go around the room, see if we learned anything on the program. Todd, I'll start with you. What did you learn on today's award nominated program?
Eddie
The lead story today by far is Liam Neeson and Pam Anderson report reportedly dating.
Dan Patrick
Well, I saw it from my own eyes that it certainly seemed like they were into each other and I love love Satan. What did you learn today?
Seton O'Connor
We've invented the anytime great movie category.
Dan Patrick
Yeah, yeah. No matter when it's on you watch the movie, Marvin.
Paul Pabst
People magazine is your bible.
Dan Patrick
It is Us Weekly used to be. Paulie, what did you learn today? I'm looking forward to taking four with Pam Anderson. Yes, somebody maybe Tommy Lee is the villain and he takes Pam Anderson and Liam Neeson gets her back. I will find you. I will kill you.
