So Ethan Holliday. Cam lighter. Kaden Kent. Brady Council. Max McGuires. All these famous names.

Is it their famous dad or relative in the league? You start seeing it, and you're like, man, I saw their dad. I had their dad's rookie. I watched him play. His career's over now his son's in the league. There's one thing. When your hero's retired. Right now, their kids are playing. So we're talking about things that make you feel old. We're not trying to make you feel old. We're trying to make you feel Young. But it is relatable. We all have those feelings.

The list of baseball players in this draft in particular, like you said, that there's some relation to another former more.

[Bridget Todd]

Famous names than ever.

[Danny G]

No, without a doubt. I even just saw another one that makes me feel a little old. Quentin Young just got drafted in the first round. Dimitri and Delmon are his two uncles.

[Bridget Todd]

You know, it's the Love island buzz of 2025. It's the rage of 2025. Now, I'm all for young people having fun. I'm all for us having fun here in Atlanta. But when I see them all making out with each other, there's a part of me that's like, that's gross.

Especially when one of the dudes had a herpes on his lip.

[Bridget Todd]

Like, all right, we've seen dating shows before and everyone's sort of hooks up. But rich, this show is like in consecutive order. Like, I'm making out with this person, then that person, then that all like.

[Danny G]

I'm like, do they.

[Bridget Todd]

They use banaka? Do they freshen up? Do they use Mount Listerine in between kisses here? What is going on? And they, they did have a hurt. Or what appeared to be a herpe breakout. Because it's like everyone is making up. That makes me feel old when I see that. Because I'm like, I don't know if I would do that.

We watched the Real World, remember? And that looks so tame now compared to Love Island.

[Bridget Todd]

Compared to that.

[Danny G]

I mean, please.

[Bridget Todd]

And of course their language, like. And I try to stay up on lingo. I'm a big fan of lingo. But crash out and chopped. Like, do you even know what chopped means? Because they have their own language, the weenials. If someone's chopped, that means they're just not good looking. So. Yo, he's chopped, she's chopped.

You know, I like how you're standing on business.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah. Standing on business. What up, twin? Like, instead of bro, it's if you're my, like my daughter, she's a teenager, right? If to put a guy in a friend zone, she'd be like, what up, twin? Meaning, like, you're like a bro to me. Oh, you're Twin or gang? Hey, what up, gang? That means, like, you're just one of my gang. You're just. You're just a friend. What up, gang?

Back to the Love island thing. I couldn't resist. I had to start watching with the wife a little bit because all you idiots are talking about it. Even on, like, episode one and two, when they first partner up and they. They're like, all right. You get to make out with two people to see who you click with.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah.

[Danny G]

What if you don't want this? This one girl went up to a dude, was like, a lot slobbering. And then she goes, okay. Goes up to another dude and was like.

[Bridget Todd]

And I'm like, and dude, that's constant.

[Danny G]

And the second guy not sound gross. But I was like, babe, if you're that second guy, she was just all over that first guy with nothing.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah, I would be like, no, thanks. I'm good.

I have a couple other things that make us feel old. And I was. Sam is on the phones if you want to chime in. Kavino and Rich in for Dan Patrick. When they ask college athletes, they do this on Tick Tock and Instagram a lot. Like, yo, yo, yo. As they're walking in and out of the locker room. Like, what year does someone have to be born for you to consider them old? And all these kids now are like, when they were born in the 1900s. And I'm like, they think if you were born in the 1900s, before 2000, that means you're old as hell.

[Bridget Todd]

They thought you. You got around on Horse and Buggy.

[Danny G]

Like, were things in black and white in the 90s.

[Rich]

It's like the videos of when they hand kids a cassette tape and say, show us how this works.

[Bridget Todd]

Oh, yeah, they don't know how. Or a rotary phone or something. They have no clue. Or they don't even know what a phone booth is.

[Danny G]

I saw a clip. The other really made me go, for real. I get it because it's a 90s song, but there's a dude on TikTok or Instagram that goes around and he'll say the first lyric of a song. And he asked, like, the young people at his office to finish the lyric. And he was over his whole office. I'll do it for you guys.

[Bridget Todd]

The whole office.

[Danny G]

The whole. The whole office was like, didn't know. And the guy's like, all right, come on. I'm gonna go around to all the 20 somethings at my office. Ready? Peaches come from a can.

[Bridget Todd]

They were put there by a man in a factory downtown.

[Danny G]

When I tell you not one, he's like, peaches come from a can and they're like, like. And they taste good and they're on sale. I'll give you one more quick one and then we'll go to your feedback. What makes you feel old?

[Bridget Todd]

I got one too.

[Danny G]

I have a personal story. My wife.

[Bridget Todd]

Oh, was it looking in the mirror?

[Danny G]

My wife and I. My wife and I were in Cabo. I feel like I look good for my age, and my wife certainly does. My wife certainly does as well. We were at a nice hotel and some college kid on spring break was drunk and he tried to sneak into our hotel. Danny, he was in the lobby and he was like, I'm trying to look like a towel and water. And he's like, I'm gonna get kicked out of here. And he goes, yo, yo. If they try to kick me out, I'll just tell them that you guys are my parents. And I was like. I was like, you son of a parent, get out of here. I was like, wow, I wanted to kick him in the ass.

[Bridget Todd]

You're like, old enough to be your dad, kid.

[Danny G]

I guess so.

[Bridget Todd]

You sure do, mister. When someone calls you mister or sir for the first time, you're like, huh? When you realize that kids today, they have different. They have different labels for the genres you grew up with. For example, they call 90s rock, which we call like grunge rock. Right. Or alt rock at the time. They call that classic rock now. So when classic rock is now considered like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, you're like, wait, that's classic rock to you? Get out of my face. Classic rock is the Doors and Hendrix, and it's not Nirvana. So you thought it was.

[Rich]

It's just like oldies radio station oldies. When we were kids, oldies was Elvis.

[Bridget Todd]

Oldies was like Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons.

[Rich]

Now Sugar Hill Gang, Rapper's Delight is on an old.

[Bridget Todd]

When you realize your music is now considered the classic or the oldies, you're like, what in the hell?

[Danny G]

Well, as the meme goes, we all think 1970s or 30 years ago. Yeah. And it's actually the 90s, so.

[Bridget Todd]

And for the record, we're not the show. You know what makes me angry? What boils, boils my goat. What boils my blood, gets my goat. You know what boils my goat, Rich?

When someone young, like they're in their 20s or younger 20s, 30s or are talking about how they feel old. Like, get out of my face with that because I'm in no rush to feel old ever. I want to make that clear. We got plenty of life to feel old. I'm not trying to do that.

Who? Yeah, Mike.

He said, you know what makes Mike who runs this place feel old?

When he sees Abe Lincoln in his yearbook photos.

When he went to high school with Woodrow Wilson. No, when he said, when he goes, when I'm awake. You know, let's go to. Let's go to Keith in Arizona in for DP Kavin on Rich. Having fun with you guys. What's up, Keith? I got side now you talk about feeling old. I grew up watching the Big Red Machine King Griffith. I watched all Ken Griffey Jr. S career. And here in Tucson, Ken Griffey Jr. S son played football at the University of Arizona. Damn. By the way, I saw a great clip the other day, Keith, if you're a Griffey fan, Barry Bonds, who. By the way, another topic we could maybe get to later. How baseball sort of embracing Barry Bonds again. Barry Bonds said that if he had not got injured by far, he thinks Ken Griffey Jr. Is the only player he thinks was better than him. He said Ken Griffey Jr. Was the best player to ever play Major league Baseball. And if he had not got injured, like number one.

[Bridget Todd]

He's not really going out on a limb with that one. I mean, it's big of him because of who he.

[Danny G]

Barry Bonds always claims that nobody.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah, yeah. Crank Griffith Jr. Was. He was incredibly great. So. Yeah, I could see that.

Let's go to Mark in Nebraska. What's up, Mark? Hey, real quick, I go clear back to the dude bro day. So it's. I am glad. Glad to catch it because every. I'll change jobs and I illusion and every two or three years I'll have to catch up and it's like, wow, a lot's changed. So.

Yeah.

What makes you feel old when you find your favorite radio show every five years? Every, like, over 20 years. Yeah.

[Bridget Todd]

When you hear me talking, I'm like, yeah, my daughter's 16 now.

[Danny G]

And it's like, wait, you're not with Layla anymore anyway.

No.

[Danny G]

Anyway, so when you get on social media and it goes like this weekend, 40 years ago, the Goonies came out and you were like holding hands with your junior high girlfriend. That's that stuff rough. Well, thank you. Forget not even the pop Culture memories, like on this day. And it's like a sports or pop culture memory. Even your own Facebook memories. How about Facebook itself? You go on Facebook, that makes you sound like an old guy. Because now kids are like, Facebook's like their parents.

[Bridget Todd]

Social media, you know, it makes me feel terribly old. And it ties into baseball. When you see your team's highlights from like the 90s and it looks like it's from the 1890s and you're like, oh my God, were the graphics and the production package that weak back then? And of course, the, I guess the transfer to video and our TVs today is different, but it looks so old and blurry and horrible.

[Danny G]

I told you the funny story was, you know, when we were kids, we thought, hey, grandma, Grandpa, did you live in the black and white? Because every picture of video of your grandparents was black and white.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah, we lived in the blurry.

[Danny G]

My kids, I showed them because it's my Mets only real highlight. 1986, I was a little boy. My son's like, dad, did the Mets ever win the championship? I go, buddy, they won the World Series. When, when dad was your age, when I was a little boy, he goes, can I see it? I pulled up a video on YouTube and my 5 year old son goes, dad, was, was everything blurry back then? Was. Was he asked if life was blurry?

[Bridget Todd]

Life was blurry. You, I mean, you, that's 86. If you go to 96 and you see the Yankees beating the Braves, sorry, Atlanta. It looks like the oldest footage ever. It makes you feel old. You're like, damn, I was alive back then.

[Danny G]

Well, if you noticed, in the world of baseball, so many of the kids being drafted are just, you know, related to former MLB legends and role players. So a lot of nature, nurture, conversations, baseball. But Danny, let's, let's direct our attention. You said there's a major rumor going on right now in the world of football regarding Nick Saban.

[Rich]

Yeah, this is catching fire all over social media right now.

[Bridget Todd]

All right.

[Rich]

Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy said this morning on WJOX94.5 that a very much in the know person believes Nick Saban will return to coaching. If it wasn't someone notable, I would never say a word McElroy said on the air. So, yeah, I mean, we thought maybe Saban had one more team in him.

[Bridget Todd]

Right.

[Danny G]

But I also thought with the nature of Nil and the way college football went, Nick. I'm not saying Nick Saban's a great coach, but what I'm Saying is Alabama was sort of set up to be a contender every year with Nick Saban, but now at the nil, as you could tell, like any college could spend money and be good. Now it's a different ball game. So I'm surprised. I thought Nick Saban was going to be like, yeah, just chill and broadcast.

[Rich]

If you really love coaching, though, can that even keep you away?

[Danny G]

I guess not. You know what I'm really curious about? We haven't talked about him in, like, a good month. We talked about him every day for a While. Bill Belichick, N.C. young Girlfriend Program over there. Like, I've been busy. What's going to happen there? So we'll keep you in the loop on that. Nick Saban, could there be a return to the coaching?

[Bridget Todd]

That's interesting, man. You know what this feels like, though? Danny G. And I get it's a big name, but you don't want the game to pass you by. And Rich made a really great point about NIL changing everything up where maybe he can't be as competitive as he used to be because it's more of an equal playing field. It's like when Tony La Russa came back out and he was just too old to be vibing with those young players. And grand opening, grand closing, and the game sort of passed them by.

[Danny G]

Yeah. And we talk about how knowing when to tap out.

[Bridget Todd]

You always bring up the David Letterman.

[Danny G]

Yeah, I feel like Letterman was the master of being like, all right, the world's going more social media. I'm not the late night host. I'm not doing carpool karaoke or I'm not posting little clips like Fallon or Kimmel. So Letterman tapped out at the right time and, and said, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to pivot to an interview show on Netflix. And he nailed it. Because no one ever said, hey, Letterman needs to get out of here.

[Bridget Todd]

And no one's telling Saban what to do. Hey, if this is what brings him joy and he wants to be great still, and he looks at this as a challenge and he could still deliver. That's again, his legacy. That's his life. But he already made that pivot. I feel like he already made that pivot. Go ahead, give me your stupid line. Pivot, pivot. And you know, we'll keep you posted on Saban73. See, that's what I'm saying.

He's been out of coaching and recruiting now for two seasons.

[Danny G]

Yeah, dude. I mean, again, I never want to criticize folks in their 70s. I'll tell you why. Because my, my dad's in his early 70s and I look at my dad and some of his friends that have stayed relatively young that still golf and play tennis and do things like 70 now. And I'm not just saying this. 70 now is not what 70 was.

No, it's Pete Carroll now.

Yeah. My. When my grandparents were 70 something, they looked like that. Well, they had been through a war, but they looked old as hell. My grandparents at 70 look 90.

Yeah, no, for sure. It's a different 73 year old.

Just saw your parents Cavino at our big Cavino rich party. Your parents are approaching 70.

No, they're.

No. Your grandma was wearing a moomoo and she was like 50.

Yeah. Think about it. I have a question. Did anyone's grandmother. Unless they were rich. My grandparents were not. My grandparents wore like moo moos and my grandmother didn't do makeup or anything like that. She was an old ass lady.

[Bridget Todd]

She had a beehive hairdo. She was like 50 years old wearing a moomoo. She was still a young woman.

[Danny G]

Well, there's a picture of Brown's owner Jimmy Haslam in attendance at the wedding. And he's there and he looks very sincere, like a proud father shaking the hand of Deshaun Watson. Deshaun Watson looking all handsome, all white, nice shirt, little white, little off white class. He's rocking his white bow tie. And Jimmy Haslam goes up to him, he's shaking his hand. He embrace. And the story is that Haslam and Watson share a special bond. He was in attendance for the wedding. Probably gave him a nice gift. By the way, do you invite rich people just in hopes they give you a good gift?

I heard the I'm invite all of our bosses. This is a wedding hack.

If I ever get married again, the.

Wedding hack apparently is send an invitation.

I'll invite Colin Cowherd and Dan Patrick and the Sandman. Sandler's invited.

Oh, yes.

There have been people that send out wedding invitations to just random rich people because sometimes an assistant will get the invite and be like, and they're back. Just send them a couple hundred bucks. Like there have been people that have schemes.

Jimmy Haslam actually went to the wedding, which is really nice. It goes to show you, dude, he's an important business guy, right?

But it's also the guy that they gave a hundreds of millions of dollars to.

So. But you know, you know, sometimes you keep that separated. But he's there because he apparently genuinely cares about him. So the story is that.

[Danny G]

Did he give out massage tables to all his groomsmen?

[Bridget Todd]

No, no, no. I mean, he might have, I don't.

Know, you know, the little gifts on each table, though.

Yeah.

You think there was like little bottles, mini bottles of lotion with their. Oh yeah, definitely their names on it.

Yeah.

And the date.

Yeah, absolutely. Jimmy Haslam also admitted recently we talked about this, it was a viral story that he publicly stated he made a mistake or something along those lines. He made a mistake on the contract. On the contract with Deshaun Watson. That's not necessarily a nice thing to say, but it's also very true when.

[Danny G]

They, when they have this full quarterback room of, you know, every. From everyone from desean Sanders, I'm sorry, Shador Sanders to the other rookie to Flacco is still there. They have this big five person deep quarterback room. And I believe the owner used the phrase something like. Well, we did swing and miss on.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah, that was it.

DeSean Watson, he admitted he made a.

[Bridget Todd]

Mistake, but apparently still has a good personal relationship.

[Rich]

Yeah. Don't forget Kenny Pickett and Dylan Gabriel. Kenny Pickett, QB is who you're.

Yes, he can. Yeah. So there's a ton of quarterbacks in that room.

So opposes like a bunch of questions. Question number one. Does anybody really still believe in deshaun Watson? Because Haslam might. Even though he thinks contractually he made a mistake, he does have love for this guy. Does anyone believe in Deshaun Watson? Fox Sports Radio Nation.

Because professionally I don't know where they stand, but personally they're in good terms. And can you still have a good personal relationship if you have a bad professional relationship? That's why people don't mix business with pleasure. Can you still have a good personal relationship if you have a bad professional relationship?

Rich, this would be like in Covino. I'm sure you can speak to this. If the show got in trouble, let's say we were a bunch of slouches who all slept in this morning and didn't get over here to All Star Village and let all the sponsors and listeners down and we were no longer at Fox Sports Radio. Would you guys still have a good personal relationship away from the business with our bosses?

It makes it a lot tougher, which is why I commend Jimmy for being at this wedding. Because Deshaun hasn't made anything easy for this guy. And how he looks as a decision maker and businessman. It's like, like spot, I want to strangle this guy. Professionally, it does put a little bit of stress on your personal relationship, but I'm still able to be friends with the guy. Right. So it poses a lot of questions. Do you believe in Deshaun Watson?

Watson I mean, he's the most famous of all the Watsons, but based on his relationship with Jimmy Haslam, who was at his wedding, Jimmy, who made a mistake or admitted he made a mistake in that contract professionally, still likes him personally.

[Danny G]

Yeah, they're. They're hanging it. And that's the thing. Professionally. And personally, you. You had, you had a multi tier question, which I love.

[Bridget Todd]

Well, the first one was obvious. Does anyone believe in Deshaun Watson?

[Danny G]

I mean, this guy, I mean, I, I just feel like, can your talent have dropped off that much that quick? Does he put no work in?

[Bridget Todd]

Because people fall off cliffs, man. You hear it all the time. One day you got it, one year you got it. And then you don't.

[Rich]

At least on the field, in his defense, when he came back from the injury, he looked decent.

[Danny G]

Yeah.

[Rich]

And then he got injured again.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah.

[Rich]

And the reports have been that he has looked good with his rehab. So there's at least that, you know.

[Bridget Todd]

From a football standpoint, I don't want to root against them. Right. I'm always rooting for people to have a great career. It's just his past makes it tough.

[Danny G]

Yeah. I mean, listen, massages and, you know, not delivering on the field, there's like a multitude of reasons why people will hate on this guy personally and professionally. And speaking of personally, professionally, that's tier two of your question. Can you separate those things?

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah. What's more important, your personal relationship or professional relationship?

[Danny G]

And I've always struggled with this, and I'll tell you why. Because professionally, what we do, I feel like our show is better. And I've always felt like we've had something special with our show. And Danny, when you joined our show when we moved to Fox, I feel like if I get a closer relationship with the people I work with, we're better. Because what, you create more of a bond?

[Bridget Todd]

The boring answer is both matters. And you know what? Some people don't really understand that. Some people keep it too professional and not enough personal. And that's why, I don't know, you're always a number. That's. That's just the truth. When it comes to budget cuts, you're always just a number. But you have to be a little far ahead of, little more ahead of the game if you have a personal relationship as opposed to the guy who doesn't know.

[Danny G]

But I did. There's a. There's a part of me that just thinks I want to surround myself with people I enjoy. Right. And that's. I. Like I was Sam. Like, we Work with you every day. But I wish. Sam's been to my house. We've had drinks around my fire pit in the yard, like I want. Because I feel like on a team.

[Rich]

You guys have done the running man.

[Danny G]

Well, that's true at work and at home. I feel like if I have a relationship with you, we're gonna work together better. But then it also creates awkward moments, too, though, that if you butt heads with someone, it's like, oh, man. Like.

[Bridget Todd]

All right, let's put. Let's use Iowa Sam as an example, right?

[Danny G]

Yeah.

[Bridget Todd]

And I always say him. This is only an example.

[Rich]

I like this. Are you going to fire him right now?

[Bridget Todd]

No, no, no. But we think he's great at what he does. But it's not just the technical aspect of what he does. Pressing buttons in the studio and running the show, you know, he brings a good vibe, and we like him personally, and that's part of it. Right. Let's say there was someone better than him, more qualified, technically.

[Danny G]

Yeah.

[Bridget Todd]

That you wouldn't want to work with them because they were technically better. Right. You want to work with Sam because you like him personally.

[Danny G]

Correct.

[Bridget Todd]

So what holds more weight? So think about that. What's more important, your personal or professional relationship? Because, Sam, regardless of how professional you are, even if you were the best guy at running the show and on the boards, we like you personally.

[Danny G]

Thank you. But you're good at what you do. Even if you were, like, the fifth best, I'd still want you because I think you're a nice guy.

[Bridget Todd]

No, no, no. And it's not a knock at what you do. We're just saying we're using you as an example. That's the truth. Sam's gonna get in his head, like, they don't think I'm good at what I do. You're great at what you do.

[Danny G]

You know what? I will say this, though. You find these things out, and I think everyone could attest, because I'll give you the example of how we find the answer to this out. You ever lose a job? You ever get let go? Fired? Budget cuts? You move to a new job on your own accord, you will quickly find out who was your friend and who wasn't.

[Bridget Todd]

Oh, yeah, absolutely.

[Danny G]

We worked at espn, and there's a guy that worked at ESPN named Sean Riley who was our friend then and is our friend now. He was a guy that hired us, and then he was the guy that had to make the tough phone call that was like, guys, I don't want to let you go but budget cuts and this, that, and they're forcing my hand. And, like, we still meet him for dinner or during this Coach Ball game. Coach ball games in the house.

[Bridget Todd]

Yeah. Get over here real quick, dude. You got time. We got time for you. Are you sure you're not. You're not hobnobbing with Julio Franco? Two minutes.

And here's the deal. The bag, the travel bag is on its last leg, so this might be the last trip for it. But yeah, the. The conga. We've added another, maybe 10 signatures. 15 signatures. Julio Franco's on there. Just got Fred McGr. Dusty Baker. I mean, for a coach, Dusty Baker is the Shangri La. So I am. I'm fired up. We're gonna have to get a new boat. Gotta get a new conga.

You need one because it's full of signatures, dude. How do you infiltrate? Obviously, you've caught fire with your videos. Your life is surrounded by baseball. How did you get so in the mix? Dude, I've seen you with everybody.

[F]

Hey, I'm gonna tell you, it's other people. Like, I, obviously, you know, I've had great mentors along the way. I've worked hard. I have a wife that has been very supportive. But a guy named Joe Buck opened the door with mlb. He flew to New York twice, met with the commissioner, said, watch this guy coach kids. He needs to be part of your play ball program. And that kind of spawned everything else.

[Bridget Todd]

You know, that.

[F]

That spawned the sandlot tour and me working with all these greats. So I gotta say thank you to him. And then all My mentors that taught me how to coach in my 20s. I was a bad coach starting out, as most of us can relate. I don't believe it, but, you know, I never stopped Coach Ballgame.

[Bridget Todd]

I noticed that you get that mutual respect now. You're fans of these players, but they're fans of what you're doing. How cool is that?

[F]

It's great. And you know, run camps with Barry Zito or Peter Moylan or Jay Bruce and they're. Now they've got kids and they're like, you know, I've got a World Series ring, but I don't know how to teach my 5 year old son how to catch.

[Danny G]

You taught me alligator vacuum.

[F]

Alligator vacuum.

[Danny G]

Right.

[F]

Any animal references, things that rhyme, catchphrases.

[Bridget Todd]

Things patented and copywritten because he's stealing all your stuff with his.

I'm coaching. It's okay.

Spread it like wildfire. I do have some sort of copyright lawyer thing going on. That's not really my bag, but I know it's there.

[Danny G]

I teach them that. And I love something else Coach Ballgame does, which is give each kid a nickname.

By the way, does that work or what?

[Danny G]

I had a question for you that you might think. It's an interesting thought. So I coach. I just got done coaching the all the all stars. They're 5U, but there's an all star team. How can you explain how these kids were closer in three weeks than my regular team was the whole year? They bonded on a level like we had pool parties.

[F]

Yeah, well, that's what it's about. I mean, I talked to Dusty Baker. I said, why is connection to the heart so important to you? And he said, it's everything, right? When you get in the big moments and those high leverage moments where the game is on the line and you've built this brotherhood, it's huge. So as a coach, you got to prioritize that. Prioritize building trust with the people. Not the player, the person. That's. I mean, Dusty Baker said that.

[Bridget Todd]

Hey, speaking of nicknames, Big Dumper, am I right?

[F]

There it is. And we've had. And, and, and I'm. I'm working the play ball park. And there's like every other nickname is I want to be Big Dumper. And then his little brother's like, I'm little dumb.

[Bridget Todd]

That's so funny, Cal. Raleigh is ablaze, by the way, Coach Ball game. Is it weird if you, if you gaze at it a little bit? Because, I mean, he's known for it now.

[F]

I mean, it's there, it's there.

Yeah, you. I've been following your clips, and I saw this speech you made to these kids about Jim Abbott. And dude, you had me so hard. I had a, I only get so many vato tears, and I had one coming down. I shared it with all my family. My little nephew didn't know about Jim Abbott. And ESPN just did a documentary this, this past week about it last night.

[F]

If I'm not so fired up to see that. I mean, what a great story. And here's the deal. Yeah, I've been telling that story for 20 years. It's just, it's a great story. And I'm telling this story two years ago in Orange County. I'd never met him, but I've always had this dream. Maybe if I, maybe if I'm telling his story and I just put it into existence, he'll show up and surprise me. Two years ago in Orange County, California, he showed up, he surprised me. He said, hey, Coach Ball Game, I hear you're telling my story. So he came up, he talked to the kids, he played catch and showed how he learned how to catch and throw with one hand. And yeah, I mean, it's a no brainer. ESPN should, should put 50 documentaries up.

[Bridget Todd]

No brainer and no hitter. But you reminded me, too, how important it is to pass on these stories. Otherwise, who's talking about Jim Abbott to these kids?

[F]

And you have to tap into different personalities. I mean, some kids love moving, some kids love story time. Some kids Love humor. Some kids love music. So being able to tap into that, I, as a kid, as an 8 year old, responded to life lessons through story and music. So when I'm trying to get a life lesson across, like never give up, be kind. I'm going to tell that Roberto Clemente story or I'm going to tell that Jim Abbott story to never give up. And. And kids respond to it. So story time.

[Danny G]

I'll tell you what, if you're a coach like I am.

I'm Kavino. That is Rich and Rich, you're in the middle of telling a story. We were talking about Deshaun Watson's relationship with the owner of the Browns, Haslam, and we asked, can you still have a good personal relationship if the professional relationship is a little tarnished?

Well, I was saying during COVID we were just a cab. We were a casualty of, you know, Covid layoffs. And our old boss at espn, guy named Sean Riley, he was the guy that hired us but also had to say, hey guys, it's not my choice. Budget cuts, Disney, Covid. And you know what? We are still friends with him to this day. Because when you're out of that, when you click with someone and you have that friendship, business and pleasure can mix. I'm not one of those people that say don't mix business and pleasure. I think it gets tricky at times. But then again, doesn't everything get tricky?

[Bridget Todd]

You know, I respected a guy that I admired. I respected the fact that he called us up to let us go and for that we are still pals. And I actually agree with Rich. When Rich and I agree, it's fact you can pull it off.

[Danny G]

People say don't mix business and pleasure. And I agree. Like I said, it could get sticky and weird and odd at times. But what's the alternative? Worker people you don't like?

[Bridget Todd]

Hey, Rich. And not the kiss ass. But I genuinely like the people we work for now. Like on a personal level, professionally, of course, but on a personal level. And that makes it that much better.
