A
see these golfers mistaken the Trugreen lawns for an actual golf course. Have you noticed that?
D
Come on.
A
No, no, I'm serious. They're the official lawn care treatment provider, the PJ Tour, so they know what it takes to get golf course quality lawns.
E
So you're saying we could host a tournament out back?
A
Yeah, I guess we can. Get your own golf course quality lawn@trugreen.com trugreen.com Let the pros handle the law. Just don't be surprised when golfers show up.
D
I can't tell you how many times I've spilled something on my shirt right before walking out the door. And it's always while I'm wearing a white shirt too. And somehow that's the exact moment I realize I'm out of stain remover and I don't have another clean shirt to change into. Unpredictable moments like that are part of everyday life. Luckily, Amazon helps make it easier to manage life's curveballs. From unexpected needs to everyday essentials, Amazon offers everything in one place with reliable value and great prices. So when a small mess turns into a last minute problem, Amazon makes it easier by saving the every day.

You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio final hour on this Wednesday. Well, that flew by quickly. Gangs all here. Fritzy Seaton, Paula, yours truly, and of course the backroom guys as well. 8773 DP show email address dpdanpatrick.com Twitter handle @dpshow Good morning. If you're watching the program, be careful. If you're watching with children because apparently Marvin has been known to flip people off. He gave a double bird yesterday and we're still feeling those repercussions.
D
Yes, Marvin, I've learned from my mistakes. It won't happen again.
A
Or.
D
Or Mario says something to me that just.
A
You're guaranteeing that you will not flip off this audience again.
D
I'm gonna try my hardest, guys.
A
But as you said, all of those people who have been mean to me about my small hands and don't you think it's ironic that I flip them off with my small hands? I go, no, I don't think it's ironic at all. I think it's wrong.
D
It's a full circle moment.
A
Yes. You can't. It's not the circle of life. Just don't do that again. You flip people off. Scotty Scheffler, Rory McElroy. The PGA Tours Elite take on Bay Hill. It's the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, Saturday and Sunday, 2:30 Eastern on NBC. And Peacock. Coming up, we'll play the reclamation game. Which quarterback who is going to be this year's Sam Darnold? We'll have that. We'll actually have a draft. Is that what you want to do? That will do. A snake draft.
C
Yeah. Quick two round snake draft.
A
Okay. All righty. Eight, seven, seven, three, dp. Show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. Our Kyler Murray poll questions today kind of dominated the first two hours. What are we going to go with the final hour of the program? Seaton?
E
Well, I have a few other options here from topics we haven't really got to one off of Todd's topic. More legit TGL or Liv.
A
Oh, wow. Well, I would say live is more legitimate than T. Tgl.
E
Is it though?
A
Yeah, because now they're playing four rounds. I don't know if they're doing the music anymore.
E
They wear shorts.
A
Yeah, I don't know. I think they can still wear shorts. But you know, I played at a country club where you have to wear long pants every single time you play. No matter what the temperature is. It'd be 95 and you got to wear long pants. I don't play it very often. In fact, I get invited, but I don't want to play because golf's hard enough. I don't want to be out there 95 degree weather with my long pants on. I need to show these legs. You know, that's going to be a distraction to the people that I'm playing with. They focus on that instead of their golf game. Yes, Todd, to a certain extent.
F
It's already a snooty sport. You got to add. You got to wear pants, Even if it's 100 degrees on top of that. We get it. You're better than everyone else.
A
It's golf. Also, when you go in to the grill area, have to take off your hat, you have to have your shirt tail tucked in. Now, there are golf courses in America where you can basically not wear anything. And it's. It's all men's club, and they don't care what you wear and don't wear. Although I don't think I want to play golf where I'm not wearing anything. Yeah. Yes.
C
But the kiss of death. If you ever go to a golf course and see someone walking out with jeans on, that may be worse than anything. You cannot wear jeans while scoffing.
A
No, you can't.
C
You cannot.
A
No, no, no. But I've seen it before. Cutoffs. Yeah. Certain golf courses. But yeah. The Bay Hill Invitational, the Arnold Palmer is coming up this weekend on NBC. And Peacock, which is where you can find this program, Download the app if you haven't done. So, the poll question for the final hour. Seaton, did you tell me? And I forgot.
E
Well, you kind of poo pooed the live versus tgo. I'm gonna put that up there. Anyway, just to see. We also had another topic this morning that we haven't really gotten around to, but it was controversial. The donut should be a breakfast food or dessert.
A
It's breakfast.
E
Why?
A
You just get something quick, you start your morning, give you a little energy, and you're on your way.
E
Yeah, but couldn't it just be sort of universally loved throughout the day? Why is it. Why is the donut a breakfast food? It's more desserty than anything else you could think of.
A
Well, you don't have dessert at lunch, and if you're gonna have dessert, dessert at dinner, it's not gonna be a donut.
E
Make dessert lunch again. Is that what we're.
A
I would say your donut is your breakfast. It's just something quick. You don't have to have somebody whip up eggs and bacon. It's just like, hey, grab a donut. What?
F
Todd, a donut should not be breakfast. I understand. You know, you grab it and you think of Dunkin or whatever, and you get your coffee. Whatever. But if a donut was shaped like a piece of chocolate cake, none of us would consider. Oh, what are you having for breakfast? Cake.
A
So you're saying the shape of the donut is the reason why we don't embrace it as I think a lot
F
of people see a donut and we're so used to it being like a type of maybe a breakfast thing. But if the donut was shaped more like a dessert or it's made out of the same kind of ingredients as desserts, so it's kind of insane because it's shaped like a circle with a hole missing, all of a sudden it's breakfast. But if it was shaped like a cake, it'd be like, what are you eating cake for breakfast for? Even if it was made out of the same exact ingredients but not shaped like a circle.
A
Slow down.
E
Take arguably the best rant Todd's ever had on this show.
G
Full support.
A
Take a breath. Yes.
C
Paul, A couple things. If we were putting donuts in a lane, are they a breakfast item or a treat?
A
I would say they're a breakfast item.
C
I look back at the history of donuts, which I always have on my screen at the ready. It was more of a daytime treat to have with coffee and tea than a breakfast item back when it was originated.
A
Yeah, but you're having coffee and tea in the morning and that could be breakfast.
C
Early donuts were an all day treat.
A
I'm not a donutter. Like, I'm not big on. We had donuts brought in yesterday. I'm like, man, you know? Yes, Todd, I don't think you're going
F
to the right donut. So like, if there's a Krispy Kreme, there are some donut shops that are like, they take that real seriously. S' mores donuts and apple fritter donuts. There's like 50 different types of donuts in some of these places.
A
I remember when Krispy Kreme opened up a store and people went crazy, crazy. And I went, what are you doing?
E
There were lines like miles long. Waiting to get into Krispy Kreme to get a box of donuts.
A
I know.
E
Crazy.
A
Yes.
F
You know what sign they didn't say next to Krispy Kreme. Come join us for breakfast and have some donuts. I'm pretty sure they don't say we're open 6 to 10am for breakfast. Here's the donuts. It's just Krispy Kreme donuts.
A
I got it. You fired up today, man, with your donuts? Yeah, I'm not big on, but if, if I'm gonna grab, oh, I have half of one. But then it drives Paulie crazy because if I cut it in Half. Oh. And then it'll be like, just take the whole thing.
C
Take it with you.
A
And I go, I don't want the whole thing. Then I'll eat the whole thing. Any other questions? Any other poll questions? Any other thoughts before we get. Oh, I mentioned this yesterday. I come in and I say to Paulie, I said, hey, I don't know if, you know, Charles Barclay's got an interesting job during March Madness. So I don't tell Paul, go through the entire show. And Paul sends me an email, and he goes, hey, by the way, Charles Barkley is going to be working with Dick Vital. He's going to be doing one of the first four games on True tv. And I go, damn it. I was going to tell you that he was going to do this with Dicky V. Dang. And Brian Anderson. All right. Yeah. So Charles is going to do a game with Dicky V. And that'll be great. It'll be awesome, baby. True tv. That'll be that opening Tuesday of the NCAA tournament. Yes.
F
Which is interesting because Dick Martello says everything is awesome, and Barkley always says everything is terrible according to Frank Caliento's impression. So you got awesome and terrible. The dichotomy is fascinating.
A
All right, so Charles got a fun gig there. That'll be interesting to hear him do a game. And let me see, is there anything else that needs to be mentioned? And we'll play the Reclamation Project game. So the idea is to choose the quarterback who will have the most success with the team that didn't draft him heading into next season. Okay. So that's a player who has already improved but can still have more of an upward trajectory. Now, Daniel Jones, set to be a free agent or, well, ish. But I think he. I'm not going to put him in the game. Okay. Malik Willis. I'll put him in the game. Kyler Murray and Tua, they'll be in the game. So Kyler Murray, Malik Willis. See, Mac Jones isn't available.
G
But.
A
But he could be. It could be. We'll put him in Tua. Anthony Richardson, Davis Mills Spence Spencer Rattler, Tanner McKee, who was in Bad News Bears, I think.
D
No.
A
Oh, he wasn't. Oh, sounds like not the same town.
F
Technically an NFL quarterback.
A
Joe Milton.
C
I know who's taking him.
E
So I'm literally looking at Joe Milton right now to see where is he going to fall in this? Because I am taking him first.
A
Okay. All righty. That's my guy. How about we use arm length? That'll be who goes first here. Yes.
C
Paul, is Aaron Rodgers available in this draft?
A
Is he a free agent?
C
Yes, I think. I think he would be in this draft.
A
Okay. All right. See?
E
Reclamation project worthy, though. I mean, there.
A
Yeah. I don't know if I'm gonna. I'm gonna rule no. I'm gonna say no, that he is not a reclamation project. These other ones are.
E
He's a squeeze one more year out of them.
A
Yeah. That's all. That's just a farewell tour. Kyler Murray, Malik Willis, Mac Jones. Tua. Anthony Richardson. Davis Mill, Spencer Rattler, Tanner McKee. And he's the Eagles backup quarterback. And Joe Milton. All right, we have to throw another one in there because there's five of us and we're gonna have. So Kenny Pickett will Levis Trey Lance, Zach Wilson. So it's a two round draft. The shortest arms. Todd, or let's see. Paulie, you're first. Yeah. Paul, you go first,
C
man. I don't think they're gonna let Mac Jones go. I have to go with Malik Willis as my number one draft.
A
All right, Next on the list would be. That'd be Seaton.
E
I went four for four. I am taking Joseph, Joe Milton, because I love that dude.
A
That brings us to the massively long armed Fritzi.
F
I'm gonna take Trey Lance. Yeah. I think there's still something about him that we haven't heard the last of. Trey Lance and his abilities under center.
A
Okay. Yes.
C
Paul, is Russell Wilson on the board?
A
If you want to put him on the board.
C
Okay. Just checking.
E
You can get Zach Wilson, not Russell.
A
Yeah. Who would you rather have better Wilson. I'm gonna take Kyler Murray Jr III. Now the incredibly long armed Marvin Prince.
D
Zach Wilson.
A
Then it comes back to me. I am going to go with 2. A Tonga Violoa.
E
Next up, if it's a Snake draft, does Mark. Doesn't Marvin pick twice?
A
Oh, oops. Yeah. So sorry.
E
Dan, you have to give that pick.
A
Okay. I give that pick back, Marvin.
D
Oh, no, you can keep yours.
A
Oh, you don't want to.
D
Quite all right.
A
Wow. Okay, I'm gonna go.
D
Spencer Rattler.
A
Okay.
F
Todd, I'm gonna grab Anthony Richardson.
A
Okay. Paul.
C
I'm gonna go with Garden.
A
Oh, no, it's Seaton. It's Seaton.
E
I'm gonna go with gardening. I'll take Mac Jones.
A
All right. We don't know if he's gonna be available.
E
We don't know if he's available. But I'm. That's. Someone's going.
A
You're betting on him? You're Betting on him. Paul.
C
I'm gonna go with Gardner Minshew with the Chiefs.
A
Okay, anybody interesting who didn't get selected? Davis Mills is pretty good.
E
Will Levis.
A
Yeah, Will Levis. Kenny Pickett.
E
Sam Howell.
A
Ow.
E
Tanner McKee. No, they took Tanner.
A
No one did. Former Stanford quarterback.
E
I mean, there's enough for one more round.
A
No, no, no, I'm good. I'm good. Who is going to be this year's Sam Darnold? Who is going.
E
My money is on none of them.
A
Well, you'd have to win the Super Bowl.
E
Yeah, right.
A
Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. And maybe that's not fair to say who's going to be this year? Sam Darnold. Because any of these guys going to be a Super bowl winning quarterback. And the answer would be no.
E
Hey, this year's Indiana, they did well.
A
Yeah, Indiana was this year's Indiana. Yeah.
E
Yeah. They crushed.
A
Sam Darnold's going to be this year's Sam Darnold. Yes. Marvin.
D
I was only going off of Sam Darnold with the Vikings. Like, you know, he'll be a Pro bowl player. Have a really good year. I wasn't thinking about winning the super bowl because if that's the case, I didn't want any part of this draft.
A
Yeah, but that's the thing. You can't say it's the Sam Darnold Award because Sam won a Super Bowl. If this was Sam Darnold in Minnesota or Baker Mayfield in Tampa, then that would be different. But yeah, the super bowl attachment there, that's a pretty lofty goal. Scott in Scottsdale. Hi, Scott in Scottsdale.
G
Hey, Dan. I'm doing well, thank you. Regarding the Kyler Murray situation, I'm conflicted on one hand, his time. Like Florio stated, when they entered that language into the contract, the ship sailed on him. He was gone. They should have got peak value at that point. Now we're left with nothing. And basically with Bidwell being at the helm, we're the jets of the west at this point. Yeah, I don't see anybody walking into this. You know, it's good in terms of taxation, the money you save going to higher price areas like New York, California and such. But you're gonna have a really tough time swaying somebody unless you pay them a lot of money. And with the hit they're taking, I don't know how you're gonna do that. And the second thing that could really quickly. You talked about basketball camp yesterday or today's rather, and Rick Barry yesterday, not for nothing, my parents sent me to Rick Berry's coaching camp at Sonoma State when in the late 70s when I was a kid and I got booted about the fourth day because I wouldn't change the shirt. I had on to one that represented his camp logo and that didn't go over too well.
A
You got kicked out of camp?
G
Yeah. Well, what happens is at the end of the camp, he comes in the beginning, welcomes everybody in, and at the end he comes back and he takes a Polaroid with you. Yeah, that's how old I am at this point. So I went to another camp earlier in the year called Santa Clara Coaching Camp, and I chose to wear that shirt. And they said, who is this kid? Where's it? Where's his proper shirt? And I said, listen, my parents paid for this camp. I can wear the hell I want. Now, obviously, I was way over my head and should have been a little more respectful, but that didn't fly. Next thing I know, I was packing my stuff.
A
All right, thank you, Scott. I think we got most of that. Yeah. Rick Barry, if you watch the documentary, he tough. He was tough on everybody but a great player. Great player. All right, we'll take a break. More phone calls coming up. We're back after this. Dan PATRICK Show. Yeah.

Nobody really prepares you for this part of life. When I had some guests stay with me recently, I realized I was missing a few key essentials. I hate when that happens. Really? No more paper towels. Down to the last pigs in a blanket. So soon? I didn't want to interrupt our time together by running to the store or give off the impression that I was unprepared for my guests. Moments like that are a perfect example of how everyday life can surprise you. Some days go as planned and other days, well, life throws curve balls. It's not always convenient. That's why I went straight to Amazon. Amazon helps make it easier to manage both the routine and the unexpected. From household basics to last minute replacements. You like to have on hand to be a Great host. Amazon makes it so you can find everything that you need all in one place with reliable value and great prices. So when you run out of essentials right when the party's about to start, Amazon makes it easier to focus on your guests. Talk about saving the day.
A
Pretty cool moment last night. NBC and Peacock, they had a NBA throwback night. Doug Collins back. That was great. They had, you know, clips of, you know, previous broadcasters who've worked for NBC. Hannah Storm, Pat Riley there. Bob Costas was there. You know, they've had Marv. I mean, down through the years. Isaiah Thomas was there, that. But they're showing you all these clips, all the different incarnations of broadcast teams that they've had. But it was nice. And Bob Costas still brings it, man. He's still got his fastball. He's still. You see him and he reminds you that he did it at a different level. Yeah, Paulie.
C
It felt like throwback jerseys, but a basketball game, they use the old logos, the old graphics, the old music. Yeah, and it was very, very late 80s, 90s feel.
A
I did mention. Well, the Dennettes have asked me what I'm going to do with the man cave. And when they leave, can they each take something? And I said, no, because this is a museum. If you work at, you know, the Museum of Modern Art, you don't get to walk out with something. You don't get to work in the Louvre and walk out with something. Although I think some people at the Louvre did walk out with something. But, no, I'm gonna make it a museum. Maybe. Maybe set up a bread bed and breakfast here where you could come and spend the weekend and you could enjoy the man cave, play basketball. We could grill. You could sit behind the microphone. You could have your. Your family out there. They could play the role of Danets. You know, we could have some fun with this. Yes, Todd, no auction.
F
One of those guys, you know, and sold for the NBA pinball machine for $70. You don't want to do that. We could have a little silent auction maybe.
A
Yeah, I wish you were.
F
I knew that was kind. I walked right into that one, didn't I?
A
Paulie said that somebody reached out. Now, is this an offer to buy my man cave when I retire?
C
I think the tires are being kicked. But this is a real person who works in the media collectibles industry. And they said they'd be interested in buying the building. Just handing over the keys. They get everything in it.
A
So. Darren Revelle, no names are involved.
E
Is the only person who Works in that industry. That's a one person industry.
C
In negotiations, you try protect people.
A
All right, so Darren Revelle, he runs Collect. Okay. He's curious.
E
He's gonna be shocked at how dirty all of our chairs are, by the way.
C
Yes.
A
Oh, he. He doesn't want the chairs.
E
The chairs are disgusting.
A
They are.
E
They really are.
C
We need a chair partner.
A
Yeah, I think it's when, you know, we'd have a meet Friday and then nobody had a napkin, so they just wiped stuff on their.
E
You want to make a billion dollars tomorrow, make a napkin chair. Everybody uses their chair as a napkin.
C
A roll of paper towels connected to a chair.
A
Right? Okay, so what's the offer, Paulie?
C
This would be like if someone's buying the house and they want it furnished, they want the keys, all the production facilities, the cameras, everything. Daniel. All the lights and all the memorabilia. And they will decide what they'll do with the memorabilia.
F
All right?
C
Now you would have to come up with a number.
A
Oh, no, I'm not negotiating. I want them to tell me what they'd pay. There you go. I'm not negotiating against myself, so.
C
But it is a semi real conversation.
A
Well, there's a lot of really valuable items in here, but there's also a lot of items that aren't valuable at all. And I'm looking at him right now.
F
That's so mean. Even as a joke, I gotta tell you. Upset with that.
A
Are you still upset from yesterday?
F
I'm a very sensitive type. He mentioned it a few times over the past week so that it stung a little bit because it wasn't the first time the. The Todd Fritz comment.
A
Unbelievable. It was unbelievably stealth by Seaton because Seaton usually is your, you know, biggest proponent. I mean, he's your cheerleader.
F
The worst part is you guys were talking about like, you know, those songs, those power ballads, and I was so. But because I was in a crummy mood, I decided to lay out and I had opportunities to like, sing a little bit, and I just sat there and Seaton thankfully took the role of some of those songs.
A
Can't you just laugh? Can't you just go? You're a guy who tries to make people laugh and you can be critical in your humor, but when somebody is critical to you, you can't laugh.
F
Very sad and immature. You would think, you know, for a 56 year old man, you know, you can get over it a little bit.
A
But we were talking, everybody's talking. And then Todd brought it back to him. And that's when Seaton said, you know. You know, oh, it's been too long since the topic wasn't, you know, centered around.
E
We're talking about Marvin.
A
Too long.
E
So Todd had to bring it back.
F
The focus, in and of itself, it wasn't horrible at all. It was very playful. But because there was, like, a theme I felt over the past several weeks, there was a few other mentions of, like, the Todd fr. For whatever reason, at that moment, I was like, I think I had enough of that, and I'm gonna be pouty and sit quietly. And I'm like, yeah, but you're.
A
You're not doing your job.
F
I know.
A
You're right.
F
I said, it's immature. It's unprofessional, too, I guess.
A
You know, some. I have friends who are funny people, but they're not. They can't laugh at themselves. And I'm always amazed at that, that they have a sense of humor towards other things and other people, they just don't have one with themselves. And you fall into that category.
C
You know what?
F
Let's be thankful this is just a sports talk show. Imagine if I was a surgeon, and I'm like. And all of a sudden, someone will hu feelings.
A
One of the nurses. I'm leaving.
F
No, we need you to finish this cranium. You got to put the thing. Nope, I'm out. I don't like what you said.
A
Cranium.
F
I'm in the middle of brain surgery, and I just walk out in the middle because I didn't appreciate what one of the physician's assistants said to me.
A
You were sad. You were sad yesterday. I actually.
E
I felt bad, too. I was like, oh, man.
A
I really.
E
I might. I flew a little too close to the sun or whatever on that one. It's a little. Stung A little too much, maybe.
A
Yeah. Even the big German said, do you think Seaton will apologize? And I go, I hope. I hope not.
E
He did, actually.
F
He apologized and gave me a hug, too.
A
Yeah, I wouldn't have done that.
E
I actually just sort of. I really was like, I'm sorry. Ty just forced him into the hug. I really didn't give him a chance.
F
I certainly didn't reciprocate because I was in no mood.
C
Yeah, he was.
A
He was like, it seems to be a theme. Kept his arms down. Seems to be a little bit of a theme lately.
F
Thankfully, there was a lot of meat sitting in the kitchen, so I rallied, and I felt a lot better seeing all the different.
A
But you quietly ate steak yesterday. You had two plates I went into a corner.
F
Yeah.
A
We had our sales team up here. We had a client up here.
F
I said hi to the clients. I was respectful as far as that goes.
A
You didn't say anything.
F
I just wanted to quietly eat my meat. I had a can of lemonade, and then I had a second plate of meat, and I was fine in my little corner. What a baby.
A
I know.
E
Yeah. But let's talk about all the fun things I did during the meeting. Dan.
A
Yeah.
E
Did you see all the things that I did in the meeting? I thought I was really fun in the meeting.
A
Yes, Paul.
C
It felt more real than normal. The back room reported back to me that Todd dipped towards the back room at one point and said, I'm staying back here.
A
Okay. Scale of 1 to 10, how much did that sting?
F
I don't know if sting is the accurate word, but did it. How real?
A
How real? 1 to 10?
F
I would say 7.2.
A
Oh, no.
F
I've been a lot more upset about things over the years than that. That's why you can't give it a not. Let's go through all the last 20 plus years.
A
Go through. I gave you.
F
I gave a videotape.
A
I gave you your own podcast, Todd.
F
That means I can never be sad or upset or anything like that. I just got to be happy as a pig. And you know what? I love doing the podcast. But at that moment, you know, we all have feelings, and at that moment, it bothered me a little bit. So what am I supposed to pretend?
A
Boy, it was a great line. Was it? I wasn't sure it was accurate. It was. It was one of those. That it was the truth and obviously true. Yes. Yes. Yeah, that was. That was true tv.
F
A great line. The first, third, or fifth time that was brought up, that's what you have to kind of decide. That's where I got upset.
E
Well, let's see how it goes seven through 10, because they're coming for sure.
A
Yes.
F
Grow up.
C
You're totally right, though. Fake criticism doesn't hurt if it's not based in reality. Like, you shake it off because it's not true.
A
And then I thought team, team building. The big German was going to take everybody out for lunch and it was going to be all, you can eat sushi today.
C
I've never heard of that.
A
All you can eat sushi? Yes.
E
Is it on a conveyor belt?
A
I don't think that one is. Now. I have done conveyor belt sushi.
E
It just comes by and you're like, oh, it's awesome.
A
Yes. And I'LL bet that you make you eat more by the fact that it just comes by. You don't. You can order things, but they have the conveyor belt and you just go, oh, there's tuna. I'll take that one. Yes.
F
I think you're on the clock, though. Like the NFL drift. It's all you can eat within like 15 minutes before the next person.
A
That's not true, but the invitation has been extended to everybody. Backroom guys like to go to the all you can eat sushi. But if you guys would like to go, it's a team building. You don't have to have the all you can eat sushi. Maybe there's something else on the menu.
E
And inviting everybody an hour before kind of feels like an invitation.
A
But no, no, no. It's been in the works. I think there's an email.
E
No, there is. There is.
A
Okay.
F
Email read as a mandatory meeting to me anyway. I didn't even know there was an option of not going, but I'd like to have some free sushi. Why not?
A
Did you rsvp?
F
I did not RSVP because again, I read it as. We'll see you there. We're gonna go over some stuff.
A
You are going and you are going to build this team.
F
I don't know who read that as. Like, if you feel like joining us, come on and have some sushi. I did not read that at all.
A
You have the choice to not go.
F
I'm planning on going. I was planning on going all along. But I will say that it was read like we're all going to meet here. Like, you know, whether you like it or not, this is what you're doing after the show. That's how I read it.
A
Richie in Wisconsin. Hi, Richie. What's on your mind?
G
Hi, Dan. Thanks for taking my call. It's so funny. Just because I'm going to piggyback off the whole conversation that you just had. I listened to the Todd cast the other day and I got to say, out of so many things that I've loved about your show through the years, I now understand what you mean when you say cut it in half. Because between my wife and I and watching and listening to your show, like I said for so many years, she said they should just call him Turbo. So it's Turbo Todd Fritz. I just thought I'd share that. And it's just. It's great. I love what you guys do, but it's a great addition or add on to enhance the whole DP show.
A
All right, well, thank you Richie. And you're right, if we cut it in half, the podcast. Podcast would be about 20 to 23 minutes. Yes.
F
I like the term where I was just looking at seat and we were like, turbo. That means a Kelly Ozone Turbo. And weren't that like the American Gladiators or the break into. Remember those. Those breaking movies? It was Kelly Ozone and Turbo.
C
They were doing the breakdancing, the movie break in 1984.
A
No, miss.
F
Yes, you do.
A
No, no, I missed it.
F
There's no stopping us. No one does it better. You know what I'm talking.
A
So the Todd cast is available@danpatrick.com. when's your next one that you're.
F
I think we were going to do it today, but we have the mandatory sushi thing, so it can't be today. So it might be tomorrow. It could be next week. Waiting for the next note from the big Germanist to guess what you guys are doing at 12:15.
A
Wow.
F
We will see you at Stratford or wherever. We're doing it from some restaurant.
A
All you can eat sushi.
F
That's right. You had me at hello on that one.
A
Yes.
E
I don't know if this is a bad time to do this, a good time to do this, but I will at best be late to the mandatory sushi meeting.
A
At best.
E
At best, I will be very late.
A
Okay.
E
Or AKA might not make it because
A
this is team building.
E
It is team building. Yes. But I have a meeting that I am supposed to have yesterday that I had to push off because we had another mandatory meeting yesterday, and now I have to do this one today.
A
How about to go sushi, maybe? Would you like, you know, take out?
E
I'm going to try to make it there ASAP, but it's definitely not at the required 1215.
A
I think it's 1230.
E
Is it 1230?
A
Yes. Marmalade.
D
What's with all the new mandatory meetings? Are we trying to be, like, a real place?
A
Yes.
D
Like a real work.
A
Yes. Yes.
G
Now?
A
Yes. What?
E
We're gonna start being a real business?
D
Yeah.
A
Two years to go, man. I said to the big German, I'm gonna leave it up to you. I need you to run this place. I'm too tired. So now he's got meetings. He's got, you know, big billboards here with all the stuff that we're doing and light up signs. You've got everything. I think he's going to do a time clock, too.
C
Swipe cards.
A
Yes. Yes, yes.
D
Marvin, are we gonna have, like, a real HR now?
C
Oh, God, no.
F
Let's not get that crazy.
E
Well, probably closer to it.
A
Yeah.
E
Than ever.
A
I. I was hr, but yeah.
D
That's awful.
A
Yeah.
E
And you're retiring.
A
Yes. So, yes, the big German is probably hr. He's got a title. I mean like I don't know what the title is, but he's kind of running the whole place here and he's taking care of the back room guys. Everybody got to answer to the big German. You got to come in, you got to say hello every morning. Yes, Todd.
F
And a little bit of a power chip like the justify your title guy. No one likes to justify your title guy. I'm gonna have a meeting just to say I had a meeting. I gotta do something. I guess I'm supposed to. I'm in charge. Dance. And I must have to. I guess we have to have mandatory meetings.
A
Eric in Tucson. Hi Eric. What's on your mind? Good morning, Dan.
G
Hey. I'm looking for a judgment from the sports judge if you are willing to offer one this morning.
A
Yes, sir.
G
So, ballroom or barroom discussion? Rather not ballroom. The backup quarterback, starting quarterback dynamic of a right handed versus left handed quarterback. And I'm going to go to Atlanta. Michael Penix and TUA being a natural fitness because of the way that offenses are set up and how important it is. I contend it is very important. Buddies contend. It's really no big deal because, you know, they're professionals. However, my point is is that all of a sudden your blindside tackle with the left handed quarterback is your right tackle. Your blindside tackle with a right handed quarterback is your left tackle. You, you have a backup that is opposite handed. All of a sudden your entire offense flips.
A
I think there's validity in that. Absolutely.
D
Eric.
A
Yeah. Does that mean Atlanta is going to bring in TUA so they can keep with the left handed theme? Maybe. Yeah.
C
Paulie, there was an article quite a few years ago in the Athletic that said some offensive coordinators lean against having a left handed quarterback on the roster for just those reasons. Now if you're a star, if you're Steve Young, you know, people will turn
A
the other cheek or the other arm.
C
Yeah,
A
let's see. Anything else that needs to be mentioned here, we take a break here. All right, take a break. Last call for phone calls. What we learned, what's in store tomorrow. It's only natural. You see, these golfers mistaken the true Green lawns for an actual golf course. Have you noticed that?
D
Come on.
A
No, no, I'm serious. Happens all the time. And you know, they're the official lawn care treatment provider, the PGA Tour, so they know what it takes to get golf course quality lawns.
E
So you're saying we could host a tournament out back?
A
No. I mean, we could make. Yeah, I guess we can. If True Green's doing all the work, no one makes it easier. They handle the treatments, the timing, everything.
C
I feel like you see them everywhere.
A
Yeah. Beautiful lawns. And you know it's True Green America's number one lawn care company. And chances are they're already in your neighborhood.
F
I'll play, but I'm not mowing.

Nobody really prepares you for this part of life. When I had Some guests stay with me. Recently, I realized I was missing a few key essentials. I hate when that happens. Really? No more paper towels. Down to the last pigs in a blanket. So soon? I didn't want to interrupt our time together by running to the store or give off the impression that I was unprepared for my guests. Moments like that are a perfect example of how everyday life can surprise you. Some days go as planned, and other days, well, life throws curve balls. It's not always convenient. That's why I went straight to Amazon. Amazon helps make it easier to manage both the routine and the unexpected. From household basics to last minute replacements you like to have on hand to be a great host. Amazon makes it so you can find everything that you need all in one place with reliable value and great prices. So when you run out of essentials right when the party's about to start, Amazon makes it easier to focus on your guests. Talk about saving the day.
A
Last call for phone calls. What we learned what's in store tomorrow. Went back and talked to the big German. Since it's a team building luncheon coming up. It is. This is sort of like our OTAs. It's not mandatory, but you should show up. And it's all, you can eat sushi. And he's not thrilled with you. Todd just.
F
He's not.
A
Yeah, he's only been on the job for a couple of days with his new title, and he said. All right, well, when we do Todd's review. Yearly review. Yes, yes.
F
Don't you hate sensitive people that get upset over the littlest? They can't stand being around that.
A
And Seaton said that a sharp member of the audience did point out that Marvin is concerned about HR now that he's flipped off the camera. But did you do this before the big German took over as the guy in charge of the man cave? Because he's now hr.
D
I think it's just a happy coincidence.
A
Yeah, well, we're not.
D
Maybe not happy, but it might.
A
It might come up at the team building on. You can eat sushi. Just letting you know he's got an agenda. He's got. He's got a. Like a PowerPoint he's doing. That'll be coming up. Nothing like a. It's not mandatory, but please show up Tommy and Madison. Hi, Tommy. What's on your mind? Hey, Dan.
G
I just wanted to share a morning Marvin bird to everyone out there and the mandatory meeting today. I'm sorry to say I won't be able to make it. They are handing out Pink slips, but I'm not going to be able to make. I know it's mandatory. I'm going to be working on my mandatory sushi T shirt instead. So good luck today, guys.
A
Thank you. Tommy Seaton. Final. Final results of the poll question.
E
Dude, there are many, many, many. A lot of Kyler Murray poll questions. As a matter of fact, let's run through them, shall we?
A
Okay. What kind of quarterback is Kyler Murray?
C
Good.
A
Very good.
E
Average. Stay away. Right now, average has about 53% of that vote, followed by stay away. Those are the two big vote getters from Marvin, the player you wish you would that had done more with their talent. Michael Vick running away with that one. Whose best years are still ahead of them. Kyler or Tua. Kyler's got 75% of that vote. There might be a few more in there that I'm just not seeing right now.
A
This day.
E
No, that was Kyler, starting quarterback in the NFL. 53% say yes.
A
This day in sports history.
C
1913, Dan. The New York Yankees traveled to Bermuda for spring training. First team to leave the country, the U.S. to train. 1993, ESPN formed the V Foundation with Jimmy Valvano. And in 1993, same day in New York, the very first ESPY Awards were held. Were you at that one?
A
Yes.
C
93.
A
Yes. Yeah. Did Michael Jordan win the SB that year?
C
No, this. That was the following year. I think Jordan on that.
A
Okay.
C
First one, New York 93 with Jimmy V speech.
A
Was Norm Macdonald hosting?
C
That was a couple years later.
A
Was Dennis Miller hosting? Is that right?
F
Dennis Miller was the host of that.
A
I had a lot of fun. And once again, I. When we were like, we're going to hand out our own awards, and I go, let's not do this. And there were times when we couldn't get players, coaches to show up. And then you had to entice them to show up. Like you. You can't hand out an award. And then that person. And then the person who finished second not showing up. And then it felt like, who's showing up? All right, you get an espy. It was just a little disorganized to begin with because we didn't really know what we're. We're not in the business of an award show, but Jimmy V's speech and you know, there's not a dry eye in the house when he did that. And you're just kind of sitting there and he was unbelievable that night. Yeah. It was just. And they were trying to wrap him up. They were like, all Right, Okay. Like, that's where somebody's not listening to what Jimmy V is saying. They're like, all right, time wise, come on, let's. Come on, wrap it up here. And Jimmy V. Even in Italian says something. Oh, yeah, you want me to wrap it up? You know, but wow, that's. I've been around a lot of great moments, important moments, but you talk about a powerful moment that is really, really high on the list because he's dying. He knows he's dying, but he wanted to make sure that he got his message out. It's just like Stuart Scott did at the ESPYs. Craig Sager did at the ESPYs. Stuart knew he was dying, but like, in your mind, you're not accepting that. But he knew he was dying. It's. He just didn't want to present himself as somebody who was dying and Jimmy V. The same way. And that speech, that will live on hope, hopefully one day we don't have to play it because we've cured cancer, but not in my lifetime. We'll be hearing Jimmy V. And it's. It's a speech that resonates and people react to it. And it's still great to hear. We're very fortunate to have had that. Let's see. Rich in Ohio. Hi, Rich. What's on your mind today?
G
Yeah, Dan, I just had a real quick question and a request. Is there any chance you guys could record the mandatory meeting today?
A
Well, the big German is human resources, so he would have to approve. And then we'd have to get the all you can eat sushi manager to sign off on this. But I don't think we could do it live. But maybe we could show who is in attendance, where they sit, maybe get like a feel of the team building lunch. I'll bring that up. We gotta. We gotta work on these phone calls because I don't think it's the callers. It's. It's popping and cracking in there a little bit. Marvin, can you get some of your best people looking into it?
D
I don't know about my best, but I'll get people in here, work on it.
A
How about you bring it up at the team building meeting now on the agenda.
E
Who do we blame for the phone calls first?
A
Tyler. Tyler, maybe. I don't know, but I can hear some. You know, there's some crackle in there that hasn't been there. Curtin, Florida.
E
I kind of wish that we all acted like we didn't hear it though, Kurt. What are you talking about, Dan? It sounds Fine.
A
Kurt in Florida. Hi, Kurt. What's on your mind?
G
Hi, Dan. Thanks for taking my call. I had a fantastic idea, I think, for you to finally get your sports Emmy. And you guys brought up the Iditarod. A couple of months ago, I heard you talking about Jesse Holmes winning the race. But if you could cover the Iditarod, not this year because it starts this Saturday and there's no way you could prepare, but next year, I think that would put you over the top. It's such a great story. The dogs are absolutely amazing and they love to do this, which is what most people don't realize or can't even comprehend really.
A
Well, I'd need a second source on that. If the dogs are really that happy, We can't do it this year. Who's up for the Iditarod next year?
E
2027. Heck, yeah.
A
I know. Paulie is. Fritzi.
F
What if I make it about me once in a while? We call the idea of Todd and I'm the one that raises the dogs. And you guys all wave to me that, look, it's Todd Shell. He's raising the dogs.
E
We actually should do some type of thing with Todd and dogs called the Ardita Todd and see how that goes.
F
Afraid of most dogs.
A
I know you are. I know. And cold weather.
F
I have some fears.
A
Yeah, maybe we sent somebody next year to the Iditarod that is not going to put us over the top with the sports emmy. If I'm voting, I'd be like, how desperate are these guys to win a sports Emmy? Let's go around the room, see if we learn anything on the program. Todd.
D
Yeah.
F
Mike Florio points out the Cardinals should have traded Kyler before feeling compelled to include a stupid ass study clause in his contract.
A
End quote, Satan.
E
We have a human resources department now.
A
Yes, it's called the Big German.
E
Oh, boy.
A
He's called the picture Marvin.
D
You might turn the studio into a bed and breakfast.
A
Yes, Paul.
C
Miami, Ohio.
A
Todd, what did I learn?
F
When a clause has to be put in your contract to study more Kyler Murray puts your desire to be great into question.
A
Have a great day, everybody. We'll talk about the team building. All you can eat sushi tomorrow. This is Julian Edelman from Games with Names. Date: March 4, 2026
Podcast Host: Dan Patrick and the Danettes (Fritzy, Seaton, Paulie, Marvin, Backroom)
The final hour of this midweek edition focuses on two major themes: NFL "reclamation project" quarterbacks—players looking for a fresh start or a revival outside their original teams—and the lighter side of sports media team building. Dan and the crew delve into a provocative "quarterback reclamation draft," share insights about team culture, and mix in the signature Dan Patrick Show blend of self-deprecating humor and sharp sports commentary. Additional conversations touch on golf culture, donuts as breakfast or dessert, the legacy of sports broadcasting, and behind-the-scenes team dynamics.
