You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on FOX Sports Radio.
Ian Pfaff
It's the Dan Patrick show here on FO Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in for Dan and the guys.
LaVar Arrington
Let's talk about it.
Ian Pfaff
We are going to take you all the way up until the end of this hour. Noon Eastern Time, 9:00 o'clock Pacific. You can find us weekday morning, 6:00am Eastern Time, 3:00 clock Pacific right before the Dan Patrick Show. You can listen to it on the iHeartRadio app and hundreds of affiliates all across the country as we part ways with the week that was here on this Friday morning and we opened up the show. There's been a lot going on here. We talked about the, the open championship. Scotty Scheffler apparently cut a fart during a backswing that we we discussed actually the follow through.
Bob Crawford
But semantics.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Crawford
It was after the great shot he had.
Ian Pfaff
Quality fart. Really, really pushed it out.
Bob Crawford
Great. If we could get live bed Jesus to push one out and give us a better.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah, nobody's ready for that. Nobody wants any part of that.
LaVar Arrington
Including I bet Jesus, nobody wants any.
Ian Pfaff
Part of that smoke. So we've had that. We also talked about Lloyd Howell stepping down as NFLPA president. Yeah, nothing to see here. Just going to go ahead and walk away now and then. TJ Walk getting his deal done three year, $123 million extension. He's getting 41 million a year. So he's the highest paid non quarterback in NFL history. Which just goes to show you how far the market has grown considering I think what was he making like 20 million a year. Something along those lines like when he signed his deal previously. So pretty wild to see sort of where that market has gone. And then when you talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers, I mean you can't help but talk about the Steelers without mentioning Lavar's guy Aaron Rodgers. And Cam Hayward was on the Rich Eisen show and had this to say about the arrival of a rog in the Berg.
LaVar Arrington
It just felt like he was bought in and you know, it worked out for the best. Like I know sometimes we live in a society where we want things now but you know, patience has a way of, you know, paying off and to now see he's a Pittsburgh Steeler and just walk him walking through the locker room Asking questions, how we do things. He's bought in and, you know, that's all I can ask for, you know, our quarterback and as a teammate, you.
Danielle Robaix
Know, I'm excited to go work with him.
Ian Pfaff
I'm bought into.
LaVar Arrington
All right.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah, I'm bought into.
LaVar Arrington
Go ahead. Q.
Ian Pfaff
This will be year two of supporting Aaron Rodgers with little to no support from Laar. This is what. That's.
Bob Crawford
Why do people think that he wouldn't buy in, though? I mean, I. I think it's just because he wasn't present and he wasn't there. I mean, we. We talked about, you know, there was some personal stuff he was dealing with during the summertime. We talked about how there was a potential thought that maybe he doesn't want to have to be signed with a team before a mandatory, you know, deal. So it's not a storyline like some of the stuff was last year with the mandatory minicamp and, you know, going on overseas or something with James Van Der Beek. But whatever the case may be, what's interesting is it feels like whatever the perception is of him, he gets there and all his teammates like him. Is that. Am I wrong in saying that?
LaVar Arrington
I don't know.
Ian Pfaff
That's what I've heard.
LaVar Arrington
I don't know. I mean, I don't know. What do you mean, I don't know? I mean, I don't know. It sounded as though the teammates liked them in. In New York, that's after it. It came out, you know, after he left. It wasn't about him. So I will say I just don't. I don't know about Pittsburgh. I haven't.
Ian Pfaff
Garrett Wilson was rumored to not be.
LaVar Arrington
A fan, but I heard that, too.
Ian Pfaff
You know, I think that's a Garrett Wilson problem, to be honest with you.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah, I don't know. But go ahead, finish your point. Let's just say for the sake of saying there's probably a high chance that he's probably liked by his teammates.
Bob Crawford
I think he's a. He's a deeper guy. He's the type of guy that looks at everything and analyzes everything and takes it all in. And I don't know why there was a thought that he wouldn't, you know, want to go in there and be a part of a historic franchise that does things a certain way and respect the leaders that have been there, like Cam Hayward and done an incredible job before that. So, look, I'm always optimistic because as a former quarterback, he is one of the most talented that I think this league's ever seen. And not everyone can end their career like Tom Brady did or John Elway did, where, you know, yeah, there's a couple seasons after for Tom, but he was going to the playoffs every year and still playing at a really high level. You know, for Aaron Rodgers, when he is playing at a high level, dude, it's like an art. I mean, it's beautiful when you watch him out there, the way he plays. And when it's not, though, it's. It's tough. And so for his sake, for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, which I can't believe I'm saying this because I've grown up to hate the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm hoping that it works out because I want them to be competitive. I want them to be good. The NFL is better when the Pittsburgh Steelers are competitive and good and in the mix and you get some of those old school games and rivalries that we're accustomed to seeing. And I know Mike Tomlin has brought them a level of consistency, but not so much in regards to truly contending. So I hope for the state that for the sake of. Again, cannot believe this is coming out of my mouth right now. For this, the sake of Steeler Nation.
LaVar Arrington
I like it coming out of your mouth. Come on.
Bob Crawford
No, I just.
LaVar Arrington
Okay, come on, say this.
Bob Crawford
Come on. I'm just saying I want him to be good. I want this to work. If this is it for him, I want to see the best version of him, the Steelers, everything else. Because I think that is better for the NFL. It's better for all of us.
LaVar Arrington
I'm a Steelers fan, y'. All. Just so y' all know. Don't get carried away. Listen, I think this. This is Cam Hayward addressing a bigger issue than Aaron. Aaron Rodgers. They have been under very intense scrutiny over the last couple seasons, and due in part to. To the idea of how much it surrounds, one, their quarterback's position, two, the lack of efficiency on the offensive side of the ball, three, the malcontents that continue to resonate or emerge from that locker room. I think Cam Hayward is addressing a larger. A larger issue by narrowing it down to saying that one is buying in. I think is the question is how many of these guys are buying in. What's this locker room like?
Ian Pfaff
Like a room full of derelict.
LaVar Arrington
It's possible. It's possible. And. And again, listen, you just got rid of one that didn't buy in, that is arguably the most talented player on the team. You get rid of them, you bring in one who has. Has maybe a reputation of possibly being one that doesn't buy in. In Ramsey, you bring in one that could possibly be perceived as one that doesn't necessarily always buy in. In Metcalf, you bring in another one that you could possibly say, by the. The looks of their reputation, that they may have not always have fully bought in. In Aaron Rodgers. I think Cam Hayward, being the leader that he has been and being the tenured leader that he has been, I think that saying that, you could at least put to rest one component, one aspect of a bigger conversation, because to me, that is the bigger conversation in Pittsburgh is how much of a team will this be, how much, you know, he said. He said buy into the Steeler culture. How much of that Steeler culture is still winning, Stealing culture or Steeler culture. So I think he's addressing a bigger issue here that actually stems beyond the. The. The parameters of what Aaron Rogers represents to this team.
Ian Pfaff
Well, I also think Rogers, too, him signing with Pittsburgh and his reasoning behind it, you know, talking about, you know, play in a place like Pittsburgh and go back and, you know, I didn't need to come back, but I want to come back and, you know, play with peace and, and grace and. And be grateful for all these. I think that says a couple of things, too. One, it shows you how much he appreciated his time in Green Bay upon further review. And that appreciation grew because of what a disaster the jets were. And I think he looks at this as like, man, I got to rid myself of that. And I just want to go somewhere where it feels as close to Green Bay as anywhere else in the NFL. And if you had to pick a place that's probably the most similar, mom and Popish, if you will, Pittsburgh's that place.
LaVar Arrington
But again, you got to be careful with that, because what I just gave as explanation and what you just gave as explanation tied into what Q gave as an opening, you know, in terms of the observations, if you look at all of those in totality, it still comes back to, that's what's being questioned in Pittsburgh right now. Like, do they still have that mentality? Do they still have that culture as. As an organization? And how does Aaron Rodgers fit into that? How does that. Because some would say, I mean, and I hate to say it because I am a fan of this franchise, some would say that you could consider Pittsburgh a dysfunctional organization right now. There's a level of dysfunction taking place. I mean, you see guys like, like Pickens, who. You have the greats of. The greats that are raining down on him, like Mel Blunt had some really, really Pointed things to say about, you know, about him and his mentality. You got Terry Bradshaw dropping. Dropping criticisms, heavy criticisms of how he doesn't feel good about. About Tomlin as a coach. Like, there. I mean, there are. There are guys who are stone cold fixtures and, and pillars of that community that aren't fans of what's going on with that organization.
Ian Pfaff
They're not awful. This isn't the jets or the Jaguars. They're. They're still a playoff team. They haven't had a losing record since Tomlin's been there. It's not like they're.
Bob Crawford
They're.
LaVar Arrington
If. If I'm looking at it from listening to your perspective versus Rocky Blyer or Mel Blunt or, Or, you know, Terry.
Ian Pfaff
Bradshaw, we all have a lot in common.
LaVar Arrington
You're gonna lose out on that one. That's all I'm saying. Whether that. Whether what you're saying is reality or not, you're going to lose out when you have those guys of historic value saying what they're saying about this team currently. Go ahead, you.
Bob Crawford
No, I was just gonna say. I mean, look, that's their opinion. You know, I think guys like Terry Bradshaw, you know, he's always, you know, voice his opinion on where he sees the organization and the team compared to where he thinks it should be or where it was during that time with those guys. There's no doubt there's been criticisms of this team because the expectation there is Super Bowls. I mean, that's what it is. It's not just, hey, we've had a winning record or, excuse me, we never had a losing record under Mike Tomlin. Yes, he's won one, but it's been a while. And this is a hungry fan base. This is one of the more passionate fan bases, so you can understand where there would be some criticism. I look at it the opposite way, though. It feels like they seem to get rid of guys. Well, first off, I'll say this. They take in guys who may be other teams, whether it was Antonio Brown or George Pickens or whoever you want to point to, that may be some problem guys. And look, some probably work out, some don't. But I'll say this. When they make a mistake, they admit it and they do move on.
LaVar Arrington
That's fair. No, that's.
Bob Crawford
I mean, the Antonio Brown trade, at the time, we were like, what are you doing? And then we started saying to Antonio Brown, what are you doing?
LaVar Arrington
We're still saying that.
Bob Crawford
Well, so then you look at George Pickens and you're like, well, could this be a problem. He's so talented, but it seems like maybe times, well, they trade him, so you bring in DK Metcalf, so you fill in that void. So I would say that as much as there may be that criticism, I also think you could look at it and say they're willing to admit mistakes, or they're willing to admit that we need to cut bait and we need to move forward without some of these players to get this culture back to what some of these older players are referring to. And I just think it's hard to uphold that when you don't have a Ben Roethlisberger. You know, when you, yes, you've got some. Some guys on defense who've been the guy, but you really haven't had that strong offensive personality there in particular at the quarterback spot. And I think when you don't have that, it's going to be tough for guys on defense to be able to play at as high of a level as him and TJ Watt and all the rest of the guys do, but also be able to hold everyone else accountable because you don't have that strong voice on that side. So I think that's going to be different for this year. I'm just more curious to see what the offense is going to look like. That's always what fascinates me the most in regards to a future hall of Famer. Guys talented as Rogers is, are they going to adapt to what he wants to do? Are they going to adapt, or is he going to adapt to what they want to do? Because if you look at the end of Green Bay, it was a lot of things that LaFleur wanted to do that he started to mix in there, and it was successful to a degree. And then even with Jordan Love, it's been successful to a degree. So, you know, does. Does he assimilate to their culture and their offense, or is. Are they working with him, saying, this is your last shot at it? Right. Like, that's what we're assuming. Let's. Let's do what you want to do, what do you feel most comfortable doing? We're going to make everyone else kind of adapt around that.
Ian Pfaff
I mean, it does make the Week 1 matchup against the jets that much more intriguing, though, when you see just sort of the backstory, the storylines, because, I mean, basically Justin Fields chose the Jets, Rogers ended up taking the Steelers gig, and then you get to see them play it all out.
LaVar Arrington
Rogers didn't choose the Steelers, though.
Ian Pfaff
What do you mean? He could have retired.
LaVar Arrington
He could have Retired.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah.
LaVar Arrington
But he didn't choose the Steelers. That wasn't like it was his first choice. I think everybody knew he wanted to choose somewhere differently than where he ended up.
Ian Pfaff
Are you saying that that was all that was left?
LaVar Arrington
That was all. Was that. That was it. That was like that $9 jacket that you talked about earlier in the show, like, about that. That that jacket was there and you. You left it there. Like, he didn't leave it there. He. He went and got the jacket. Happens to be a good, historically a good organization that you chose to get that. That discount jacket. But nonetheless, that was the only thing available to that man to, to continue his career at the NFL level.
Ian Pfaff
Just so people, Dan Patrick fans who are unfamiliar with this Levar ARR has his picture on the wall at Permani Brothers. That's what a celebrity is in Pennsylvania. And he has done nothing but ridicule and criticize and shame the Steelers for this pairing with Aaron Rod.
LaVar Arrington
I have some built up equity in Pennsylvania, so if I choose to use it every once in a while, especially on that side of the state, I'm gonna use it. So it could come across. It could come across as I'm being, you know, unreasonable about it, but like.
Bob Crawford
Some would say hater.
LaVar Arrington
I mean, some would say it would sound like hating. I wouldn't disagree with.
Ian Pfaff
I mean, their schedule is brutal this year. There is.
LaVar Arrington
I can't see it. I really can't. I can't see it if they're. If they're good. I saw one of these, you know, news outlets talking about, is it super bowl or bus for. For the Pittsburgh Steelers? First of all, yes, it is super bowl or bus. But then secondly, I don't think that this roster is good enough to fall into the category of super bowl or bus. I don't think they're good enough to be a Super bowl or bus team. And their schedule does not say that they would be winning a whole lot of games. It just doesn't. So we're going to see again, the one thing that Pittsburgh has always done is prove people wrong. It's like Pittsburgh, the Steelers, for as much success and as much pageantry and legend as they hold and, and all the, all the, like, annals of sports. This is still a team that has always taken on an underdogs mentality. It's like a. A city that takes on an underdog mentality. So if they can prove that they're the underdogs, that, and they can, you know, have a good year and be successful and Aaron Rodgers can finish out strong. I'll be the first one it saying that I'm glad I wasn't right. I'll be the first one saying, this is amazing. And I don't. I could care less than somebody's like, oh, but you were hating on them. Don't cheer for them now. Nah. Nobody has the right to say that to me. You don't. You don't. It's not qualified. What'll happen if they do it doesn't matter what you do about it. It will be totally dismissed. Totally dismissed from my conscience.
Ian Pfaff
That's when you get hashtag hostile.
LaVar Arrington
I mean, all I'm saying is, is that's my team. Everybody knows that. And I want to see the best for them. I am a fan of the coach. I am a fan of some of the players on the team. I want to see them do well. But if they're not doing well or if I see something, I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna call it out. So. And if they're doing well, I'm gonna call that out, too. So I hope they do well. I'm just not expecting very much. And that's. Not that that could be possibly me as a radio personality, but it could possibly be more of me as the Steeler.
Bob Crawford
Okay, okay. So you're. You're. You're getting out there on the edge now, so I want to now help you make a definitive statement.
LaVar Arrington
You want to push me off the fence? Go ahead.
Bob Crawford
No, no, no, no.
LaVar Arrington
Go ahead.
Bob Crawford
I'm saying, though, if this year doesn't go well as it. It sounds like you don't think it will.
LaVar Arrington
I don't.
Bob Crawford
Are you saying this will be Tomlin's last year?
LaVar Arrington
I think. I think it would be hard to justify moving forward, but I do think it's interesting that they extended the gm. If they hadn't extended the gm, I would say definitively yes to what you just asked. I don't find it to be as simple an answer today because it. It comes across to me as. And for some reason, I got this strange feeling that the quarterback out of Ohio State is the one that they want to be the next franchise quarterback of this team at Will Howard. And I think you're able to do what the Steelers have historically been able to do, which is hide and not talk about at all the potential of what that next player coming into the role would be. Now, not at quarterback. That hasn't happened historically at the quarterback position, but it has happened at other positions for. On. More specifically at the. The running backs. Position, the receiver's position, various defensive positions, linebacker. Probably the most famed of them all in terms of guys just. Just restocking and reloading different guys. But that would be interesting if they were able to have success this year. And the idea of it is, is that you're buying time for Howard to be the guy. It's very possible. It's very possible. And if that's what it is, then. Then great move. Great job. It worked out. But if. If all things given Q. If. If they don't give him that extension, that The. The. The GM Con. Khan. What's his last name?
Ian Pfaff
Omar Khan.
LaVar Arrington
Khan, yeah. If they don't give him the extension, I. I would say definitively if they do not have a successful season, which. What is that defined by? I don't know. But if they don't have, like, a playoff season or are contending for the AFC north divisional crown and heading into the playoffs in an impressive fashion, it could possibly have been. Yes, it could be. Tomlin's last year as the coach.
Ian Pfaff
By the way, you just was not a pick.
LaVar Arrington
That was not a pick.
Ian Pfaff
That'll suffice. And by the way, how are you just gonna leapfrog Mason Rudolph and go straight to Will? Howard Mason?
LaVar Arrington
Because that's Howard.
Ian Pfaff
Because he's still recovering from that assault he suffered at the hands of Miles. Damn. We're just gonna skip past him and go right to Will.
Bob Crawford
Yeah. After. What do you call him? What did.
LaVar Arrington
It was some type of a profane piece of language.
Ian Pfaff
Was it?
LaVar Arrington
That was used and very, very directed. And possibly we're looking at Johnson. It originated from some type of a racial slur.
Ian Pfaff
It's weird because nobody else anywhere in the vicinity heard it except for. Except for one guy.
LaVar Arrington
I don't think Pouncey even would have cared to hear it. I think he just wanted to go throw down. I mean, and that was. Those were the type of players you had in Pittsburgh. Do you have throw down? Well, Jalen Ramsey's a throwdown player. He might. He has a Pittsburgh mentality. Like. I think he'll fit in well in Pittsburgh. I think it's. They have. On paper, there's the makings of a pretty good team here. In reality, I don't know that it matches.
Bob Crawford
Here's what I love about what they have. I think all these guys got something to prove.
LaVar Arrington
Well, that's.
Bob Crawford
I think after the way things went with the Jets, Rogers has something to prove. I think the way things were with DK and looking at Seattle, as productive as he was and not getting the contract, all that. I think he's got something and then I think Jalen Ramsey. Same thing. Yeah, I think they all have something to prove. So I think when you align a lot of those guys together and it takes some cohesion, but I think it can be something special.
LaVar Arrington
Those are some strong ass personalities and you'd have to assume that if there's one guy that has a strong enough personality to be able to shoulder what would come with adverse situations with that type of group, it'd be Tomlin. I mean, but again, that could be, you know, that could be perception. We're going to have to wait and see because literally these are some of the strongest personalities in the league all on one team right now.
Ian Pfaff

When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier and we watched Paraguay against Chile pouring rain. Just watching the fans jumping up and down, I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me. Not only was that going to be my game, but it was going to be my life.

It's two pros and a cup of Joe on Fox Sports Radio. Filling in for the Dan Patrick show here, Lavar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you. So coming up here in a little over 15 minutes from now, we are going to close up shop with another edition of Lee's Leftovers. That'll be yours here on fsr, starring our executive producer, the one and only lead the lap, or as his zoom name is, Liquor Store Lee. That'll be. That'll be what we got coming up here. Again to close. If your nickname was Liquor Store Lee and you're proud, like nothing better, which, by the way, that you talk about a lost opportunity. I've told Lee he should do like Portnoy does. The pizza reviews. Lee should review liquor stores in and around Southern California.
Lee
I should. That's a good idea. I live right, right around the corner from Circus Liquor. World famous.
Ian Pfaff
Oh, yeah.
LaVar Arrington
Interesting.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah, there's that.
LaVar Arrington
Okay.
Ian Pfaff
All right. So I feel like somebody's to blame for this. We almost had. I don't know if Revolution Is too strong of a word. But all of a sudden you saw a couple of second round draft picks get guaranteed contracts and you thought, man, they're really going to dig in. Really going to dig in. Emma Nwori from the Seahawks also got a guaranteed contract. Then he thought, all right, man, these guys are really going to. And now you find out, no, everybody's falling in line, everybody's dropping like flies. Guys are accepting less than guaranteed contracts all throughout the second round of the draft. And I feel like the person to blame for this is Brady Quinn. Because you had to give the thought that, listen, this is all nice in theory that they all band together, but somebody's gonna cave. Happens every single time. And it literally took one player to do it. And now you just go through the, the list and they're all agreeing. 72% guaranteed, 47% guaranteed. The first three years guaranteed, but not the four. Like, damn it, we almost had something here. And unfortunately, now they're signing contracts to get ready for the, for the training camp coming up around the corner.
Bob Crawford
Yeah, I mean, it's Alfred Collins. He's. He's the one who ultimately signed a deal that was an improvement upon last year's player that was drafted in that slot. However, not a fully guaranteed deal. So Clutch Sports Group, I believe is who handles his contract. And look, maybe The San Francisco 49ers took a hard stance and it got to a point where the agent, the player, they didn't want to push it any further. So that's. Look, ultimately it comes down to what the player feels most comfortable with agreeing to. But again, not having a ton of negotiating experience. There's also a heavy portion that the agents play in regards to their role and their ability to make sure the player understands what exactly they're signing. So it's disappointing. But this is why the owners win in every single collective bargaining agreement or negotiation because there's just a ton of players and different guys set different priorities and, you know, most aren't willing to sacrifice not only for their own good, but really for the future, you know, for other players after them to be able to tap into a better deal as well.
LaVar Arrington
I don't know, man. You know, I. It's so many different ways you can approach were they right, were they wrong.
Ian Pfaff
You first round picks are all the same, man.
LaVar Arrington
Well, I didn't have, I didn't just.
Ian Pfaff
Look down on everybody.
LaVar Arrington
I just was just hoping that I get as much as I wanted to get. You know, it is what it is. You know, I'm the number Two pick, give me my money.
Ian Pfaff
Oh, you second rounders.
Bob Crawford
It was way harder back then because there was more things to negotiate than it is now.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah, yeah.
Bob Crawford
I mean this, this is so simple nowadays. And, and really moving forward, you know, someone, next year, whoever represents this pick, 43rd overall where Alfred Collins was taken, someone's going to try to probably get a fully guaranteed deal or at least improve upon the percentage of guarantees within it. Because up until this year, outside of the first round, we kind of thought, all right, you know, second round picks get this amount in guarantees usually. And then we saw how the, how the top of it played out. So agencies have to try to harder and harder to create value. You know, if you think about if it's slotted, you really don't need an agent to do it. You could have an attorney do it. So one way they're trying to create value is trying to get full guarantees. So kudos to those agents who've been able to do it.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah, but just not at my expense. You know, that's, that's how I think you got it spot on with what you're saying and good. Try to create more value for me as a player. Try to create more value for yourself. I have no problem with that. But you're right. Like these contracts have become slotted. And that was something that was worked upon within the CBA and it was made so that you would not have holdout situations. And yet here we are. And so to me, again, I look at it as if it's a slotted contract. If you want to try to push the envelope, you can try to push the envelope because it's going to, it's going to impact me and, and having more guaranteed money. But do not do it at my expense. Meaning whatever that contract is. We tried, we tried. It didn't work. Okay, Like I'm going, this is what it was slotted to be. And if that language that you're speaking of isn't, isn't late. Now, granted, if it's like the first rounder for Cincy, that's a little different. If this is what everybody was getting before me, I'm not going backwards. But don't, don't at the expense of me going forward. That's, that one's a little bit more of a question mark. That's got to be by individual. Because I look at it like this. I understand the value of a dollar. I'm coming in as a second round draft pick. If I'm able to make X amount of dollars and I'm in seven figures getting to do what it is that I'm doing. That's. I mean, at the end of the day, I have to take a good, long, hard look at the fact that this is a slotted contract and this is my opportunity, and I just have to make the best of it.
Ian Pfaff
33 was Schlesinger. 34 was Jaden Higgins. 35 was Iminwari. 36 is Quinshon Judkins. All three of those guys got guaranteed deals. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Quinshon junkins not gonna get a guaranteed contract. Just saying. Based on all the one.
LaVar Arrington
That's the one.
Ian Pfaff
Well, yeah. I mean, he's got the domestic violence.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah.
Ian Pfaff
Charges.
LaVar Arrington
Well, that's. Yeah, yeah, that is true.
Bob Crawford
Like, even if you did, the struggle would be like two things. Like, you're. You're signing him to this deal knowing what has already occurred, and you drafted him.
LaVar Arrington
You drafted them knowing that. Right. Unless it happened after. Did it happen after the draft? Okay. Happened after.
Bob Crawford
Yeah.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah.
Bob Crawford
So my point is, and I don't know, you'd have to find an attorney to figure this out, but, you know, because it happened before they've actually signed the deal, you'd have to think that the ownership knows this. So are you. Are you trying to negotiate in guarantees after the fact and trying to carve out. Well, hey, you. You drafted them. You know what you're dealing with. You know, we're. We're still negotiating this deal, so if we put in guarantees, it's going to exclude whatever's, you know, punishment is going to happen from this. Or is the team saying, no, no, no, no, we drafted him with the intention of this. The guarantees are going in. But if he is indeed convicted and we go through the whole, you know, process of negotiations and figuring this out, he's going to lose a portion of that. He might lose all the guarantees that are within that deal. So, you know, Quintron's is going to be one that it's gonna be interesting to follow. It's going to be harder for the guy who's drafted after him because at no fault for anything that player did, he might be the one where it stops getting the 100% fully guaranteed purely because of the actions of Quinchon Judkins.
LaVar Arrington
Dang.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah. Sabi and I. He's the guy with the Dolphins who's going to be sitting there because it looked like if you just follow the numbers based on What Swessinger got, 4 years, 11.8 million. Higgins, 4 years 11.7. Iman worry 4 years, 11.7. You just assume 11.5 would be the next one. But that's junkins. So it kind of throws everything a wrench for all that. And then you've got the quarterback Tyler Shuck, who's there at 40. So yeah, it's gonna be, it's gonna be interesting. But training camp's right around the corner, so who knows, Maybe they'll show up, maybe they won't show up. And I think rookies report this weekend, don't they? I, I think it's, I think they report this weekend, if I'm not mistaken for some. Yeah, well, it is the Dan Patrick show here on fox Sports Radio. San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team. We need veteran players and we need young players. LaVar Arrington
It's Lee's Leftovers.
Ian Pfaff
All right, Da lap. What do we got, guys?
Lee
Lots of entertainment that you can check out this weekend. You know me, I like going to the movies. Yesterday went and saw Eddington, Ari Aster's I believe, fourth feature length film, two and a half hours. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Very long, very boring. But I am a big Ari Astor fan. If you're into his stuff, go see. It's got Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, Austin Butler star, studded cast. Yeah, go check that out. Or take the kids to go see Smurfs. I just sent you a picture of Todd posing with the Smurfs outside the movie theater.
Ian Pfaff
Sent you one too.
LaVar Arrington
Oh, yikes. Yes, you did.
Lee
Yes, you did. Thank you for that yeah. And then if you want to see something else. I know what you did last summer. Basically a remake. It's got Jennifer Love Hewitt in it as a cameo. Did I ever tell you about the time I ran into Jennifer Love Hewitt?
Ian Pfaff
Yeah, I believe so. Okay, you.
Bob Crawford
No, I haven't heard it. I'd love to hear the story.
Lee
All right, so first big crush movie star crush of mine was Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Bob Crawford
Hold on. What scene? What movie?
Lee
Can't hardly wait. One of those teen comedies from whatever it was. I can't necessarily pinpoint a scene, but Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Bob Crawford
I know what you did last summer.
Lee
Yes, she was the original. I know what you did.
Bob Crawford
Can I give you the exact time and scene?
Lee
Oh, I know exactly. Everyone's seen in what time.
Bob Crawford
Yeah, everyone does. It's raining outside. She's in a low cut top and she's yelling, what are you waiting for? And she's like turning around the red, like, what are you waiting for?
LaVar Arrington
I remember that scene.
Bob Crawford
Everyone remembers that scene. It was.
LaVar Arrington
Why exactly? Remember that scene in particular?
Bob Crawford
Because it was very flattering. It showed off some of her.
LaVar Arrington
Because I was like, dang, like, when you said that, I immediately was brought back to a place in time where I could remember that.
Lee
Was she in a snow in that scene?
Bob Crawford
That's where most people fell in love with Jennifer Love Hewitt, so.
LaVar Arrington
And Pamela Anderson. Right.
Bob Crawford
Well, she was before that. I'll be ready.
LaVar Arrington
I'll be ready.
Bob Crawford
She'll be jogging up that beach.
LaVar Arrington
Yes.
Bob Crawford
Red bathing suit on. Holding that life raft in her hand. She's running.
LaVar Arrington
Yes, she did.
Lee
I'll be red.
Bob Crawford
I'll be red it.
LaVar Arrington
Hey, Hasselhoff was my hero in that show, man.
Lee
Happy birthday.
Bob Crawford
How did he get, like, the only main male character in that show? Like, they didn't want to put any other dudes that thing, huh?
LaVar Arrington
No, they didn't need it. Nope. Didn't eat it. Only one. Only room for Hasselhoff. It's his birthday. How old?
Lee
Birthday yesterday.
LaVar Arrington
I think like 90.
Ian Pfaff
Yeah.
Lee
Let's see here.
Ian Pfaff
Is he still eating food off the floor?
Bob Crawford
70.
LaVar Arrington
Is he 70?
Lee
I thought it was 69, but he is 73.
Ian Pfaff
70. He's still eating hamburgers off the floor.
Lee
Hell, yeah. Good place. Good place to eat one. So, yeah, I was. I was working in the video store. My first high school job. And pretty young blonde comes in looking for movie recommendations and walking around.
LaVar Arrington
It was Lindsay Lohan.
Lee
Pick one or two or three of them. She comes up, she's in a Zach Morris. She's in a pink Playboy Shirt. She's got the Playboy bunny. And I say, last name on your account. H E W I T T. And I look up and I said, oh, man. I've just been talking to Jennifer Love Hewitt for the last five minutes. I didn't even realize it because she had just dyed her hair blonde and she just got some work done.
LaVar Arrington
What type of work?
Lee
The Playboy bunny was a little hard to see.
Bob Crawford
It was.
Lee
It was up and down the Playboy.
LaVar Arrington
Bunny a little bit hard to see. Oh, you mean it was hopping?
Lee
Yeah, it was hopping. Hopping up and down.
Ian Pfaff
Dumbbell flies.
Bob Crawford
Jonas goes, oh, oh, oh.
LaVar Arrington
What else, Lee? Come on, guys.
Lee
Did you see Jimmy Graham this week? He broke the world record for rowing across the Arctic. Him and a couple, along with a Navy Seal. So four total, taking two hour shifts, 24 hours a day. They did it, I think five days or they broke the record by five days. They did. In 10 days.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah.
Ian Pfaff
Good job.
Lee
Jimmy Graham, killing it.
Bob Crawford
Career.
LaVar Arrington
And what was that done for? Why is that?
Lee
They did raise a lot of money for charity.
Ian Pfaff
New Orleans.
LaVar Arrington
Okay, all right. Okay.
Bob Crawford
He's one of the most unique athletes we've seen. He played basketball, transitions to become a great football player.
LaVar Arrington
He's a ginger.
Bob Crawford
What's he gonna go there?
LaVar Arrington
Oh, he's of it, though.
Bob Crawford
He's a pilot.
LaVar Arrington
Yeah, there you go.
Bob Crawford
He's a pilot. So he flies in his.
LaVar Arrington
How big is that?
Bob Crawford
Spare time. Oh, geez. Okay, what else we got?
Ian Pfaff
Settle down just a little bit now.
Lee
Keep going, keep going.
LaVar Arrington
Come on, man.
Ian Pfaff
Come on, Q. I don't know why.
LaVar Arrington
Come on.
Bob Crawford
Hey, liquor store Lee, what else we got?
Lee
I'm running out. Keep going, keep going.
Bob Crawford
What do you mean you're running out? Lee, Are you not prepared for this segment?
Lee
No, I wasn't.
LaVar Arrington
I'm running out of topics for my own segment.
Lee
What do you mean you want some more entertainment news? Because I know you want it.
Ian Pfaff
We want your content.
Lee
Great white sex battle or Jaws versus mega croc. You could get that this weekend. Or how to train your dragon. I highly recommend that one, Lee.
LaVar Arrington
You're going downhill fast.
Lee
You guys broke early. You guys are the ones who ran out of content on time. For the first time ever, Whoever came.
LaVar Arrington
Up with the idea of this segment, you should get. Fine.
Ian Pfaff
Okay, so we talked.
Bob Crawford
Your name.
Ian Pfaff
Liquor store Lee, do you have any liquor store advice for people out there going to. Going to go shop or do whatever they need to do?
Lee
So I was looking up. I was looking up the world famous circus liquor, which is in North Hollywood. It's got the big 40 foot tall clown.
LaVar Arrington
Listen how he sounds so educated about this.
Lee
Well, yeah, I mean you could get, you get a get. After the show I often go there.
LaVar Arrington
And get some bread and breakfast to that professional voice. Go ahead, finish up.
Ian Pfaff
He's the grok of liquor stores.
Lee
I often go there for bread and breakfast, which is a burrito spot. Bread and breakfast. And bread and breakfast.
LaVar Arrington
Really?
Lee
Yeah, it's called bread and breakfast. It's a, you know, it's a pop up shop out in the parking lot at night. It turns into Pablitos Tacos, which also makes pizzas, delicious pizzas.
Ian Pfaff
Do you have any advice for people listening across the country? Not SoCal related, but just general advice for how to handle like how to shop smart at a liquor store.
Lee
Now most liquor stores do a great job of packaging things together and then giving you a discounted price so you could go there. Especially on a hot pool day. You get yourself like mine serves you a whole cooler. So you get a cooler with a spout and everything and it comes with a bunch of beat boxes for buzz balls. Some, some mixers get that. It sometimes comes with some Cheetos. You crunch that in, push it in, make it so ridiculous. Enjoy your summer.
LaVar Arrington
Y' all have a great weekend. Don't listen to Lee.
