You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. All right, bringing it. Alarm went off this morning.
Rich Davis
Early.
Steve Covino
Like Mr. Furley. Like the old guy. Alarm Jack. And just one word came to mind. Fudge. But then again, I get so excited to fill in for DP Covino and Rich. Day two of of the Dan Patrick unnatural holiday hat trick. Merry Christmas Eve. I'm Christmas Steve. That is Rich.
J. Stu
And there is way too many Christmas story references in the studio. You already did your fudge. We have a leg lamp and Spot's got a bunny shirt on. Oh, you got a Ralphie shirt on.
Steve Covino
I do. With the soap in his mouth.
J. Stu
Most overrated Christmas movie. And we're gonna get to it on today's show. I think it's trash. I think it's Garbagio.
Steve Covino
Well, actually, hold your horses. We're gonna talk about the greatest R rated Christmas movies today for your adult viewing pleasures, I guess. But if you want to dump on this classic, be my guest. Hey, it's not like I love it so much. Although I do like it. Scut Farkas and Ralphie and Randy. Major award. I probably bought this at Target because I had to wear it to a stupid holiday party. And it's the only reason I have it. So today's the only appropriate day to wear it and get my money's worth out of this ten dollar T shirt of a Christmas story. So I'm trying to be festive. Like I said, Christmas Steve. Christmas Eve. Happy Hanukkah tomorrow. Merry Christmas and thank you guys for being here. Like I said, always a pleasure to fill in for Dan Patrick. If you missed yesterday's show, I thought it was fun. I thought it went great. So catch it on the podcast again. I'm Kavino. That is Rich. We're on two to four out here on the West. Monday through Friday on Fox Sports Radio. Five to seven on the East. Just search Covino and Rich wherever you stream your podcast. Let's welcome super producer Chase Stu.
J. Stu
Yo, what up?
Steve Covino
Hello. Yeah, he's a super producer. He's a super professional. He's been there, done that. From Jim Rome to Doug Gottlieb, he's done it all. He's an actor. He's probably been in a Christmas movie. We don't even know about it. So I feel like we're not worthy of the J. Stu.
J. Stu
I think he was probably in like Home Alone 4.
Steve Covino
No, like, yeah, definitely in a Hallmark movie. Yeah, he's probably been in one. He's done it all. No time. He was in a lifetime Christmas, this movie. Always fun to work with J. Stu. He's on the phones at 87799 on Fox. 87799 on Fox. And being the most interactive show, most inclusive show on radio. We welcome you to talk trash, to say merry Christmas to hit us up at Covino and Rich at fox sports radio on social media. Let's go.
J. Stu
Did J. Stu play, like the douchey big city boyfriend that was holding the girl back?
Steve Covino
Yeah, he's definitely like the Glenn Gulia type. Definitely the Glen Gulia of Christmas movies. So we'll talk Christmas movies. We're going to talk the best Christmas sports toy of your childhood. We have a number one answer. It's a clear answer. We're going to talk a little Charlie woods if we have time. Lots to get to. I just want to give him props. I think he seems like a swell kid, like a nice fella, and I'm happy for his moment with his dad. Is hole in one. That's really it. But before we talk Packers, Rich.
Dan Patrick
Yes.
Steve Covino
I hope you had a green bay packers sort of Monday night. Whoo. Can I just say that it was a boring game? So the whole time I'm sitting there watching him dominate and I'm like, all right, can I turn it off now? How about now? How about now? And I'm debating that keep it on. But I gotta wake up early. I want to get out with my night. So I put on Dexter original sin.
J. Stu
The new series episodes deep.
Steve Covino
Three episodes deep now. And I gotta tell you, I think there's a lot of people. People sleep on things. Like the packers. People are sleeping on the new Dexter prequel. If you never watch Dexter, it doesn't matter. But I could say it's probably one of the best shows of our 20 years of working together.
J. Stu
I agree. I'm a big Dexter fan, so I like what you're saying. People are sleeping on two things. Dexter and the green bay packers. We're going to get to.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
J. Stu
Why? In a second.
Steve Covino
Maybe it's a hot woman that nobody talks about and you're like, I can't believe nobody talks about it. Who else? What else are we sleeping on? Because the Packers Are probably the number one answer, but please let me just tell you this. I'm thinking to myself, self, got to wake up 5am out here on the west side to do DP. Can't stay up that late. So I shut the game off because the packers are destroying, right? They're dominating this game. I put on Dexter. Two new episodes are out. There's three totals. This is the prequel to the original series Dexter. So they had a recast. And this is the key. They had a recast. All the characters you grew up knowing and casting is everything. And this is why you love it. The guy that plays young Dexter, a young Michael C. Hall, Almost identical. Dude, you're like, that's the guy. The guy that plays Bautista, same guy. Laguerta is Christina Milian. Like, it's unbelievable casting. Mazuka, remember that guy?
J. Stu
Of course. The Asian dude, The young version of him.
Steve Covino
Totally different guy, all different people, different cast, identical nail in the part. You could see how well it was written. It's so good. Dude, I'm not into prequels and things like that. This is so worth the watch. And it's narrated, you got me. By the original Michael C. Hall. So my point is, by the way.
J. Stu
When you said, you know, masocha, and I'm like, the Asian guy, I knew that it wasn't just a guess because that would have been the easiest guess. Oh, Masuka, the Asian guy. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Steve Covino
Well, look, Kavito and Rich celebrated 20 years of working together. 20 years of working together and still the youngest in the game. I don't know how. And we were on the air when Sopranos was running. Okay? Dexter's right up there with the best. People sleep on it. And people are sleeping on the new series. I'm here to tell you. Watch it and enjoy. And you could write me a thank you note at Steve Covkovino.
J. Stu
There was a turning point in the original Dexter. See, I watched the whole series, My.
Steve Covino
Dark Passenger, but there's a lot of.
J. Stu
People that said after the John Lithgow.
Steve Covino
Season, who are those people who show me them?
J. Stu
Like most people now that's, you know, it's like Walking Dead. It's like Walking Dead when people say, when Carl died, they gave up everybody. There was. There was a point.
Steve Covino
There's outrage. Where's the outrage? Show me the outrage.
Dan Patrick
I will tell.
Steve Covino
I'm gonna. You're speaking in social media headlines. Who said it sucked after that? Show me him. I'll punch him in the face. No one's ever said it. Dexter was great. I love the criticism. Was the last episode of the final season, right. And how it ended. And I'm telling you, they. I think they saved it because they had a comeback. But watch it and enjoy. But the point is, people are sleeping on it the same way they're sleeping on the Green Bay Packers. Because, look, I do the show with Rich every day. He loves talking NFL. This dude never mentions the Packers. And I see that every once in a while, see one dude say, hey, man, we watched the talking heads on tv. We watched the people on ESPN fighting just like you do. I see Herb street and Stephen A.
J. Stu
Having word.
Steve Covino
Yeah. I see them having words. Every once in a while, I'll hear somebody say, man, if there's any team that could be any team any given day, any given Sunday in the NFL, it's the Green Bay Packers. Once in a while, I'll hear that. Once in a blue moon. But they're not sexy. No one really likes to talk about them.
J. Stu
You don't think Jordan loves sexy?
Steve Covino
I think people are sleeping on him.
J. Stu
I think that Michael C. Hall and Jordan Love have a lot in common. People are sleeping on.
Steve Covino
We both have Dark passengers.
J. Stu
I think. J. Stu, you and I, before the show were talking about how it's almost like Jordan Love has an on switch that's flipped.
Steve Covino
By the way, no relation to Darlene Love, right?
J. Stu
Christmas baby, please come home. I think it's his aunt.
Steve Covino
Is it?
J. Stu
No. Start that rumor.
Steve Covino
I heard Buddy Love is his uncle.
J. Stu
Buddy Love. By the way, the game was so boring last night. Did you see in the fourth quarter, Joe Bucks doing elf impressions?
Steve Covino
You know, I think I missed. You told me, but I missed that part. I must have been sweeping the floor out of boredom.
J. Stu
They're coming out of commercial at this point. It's like 27 nothing.
Steve Covino
Can I give you two indicators? When you know you're tuned out of the game or you're bored?
J. Stu
Yeah.
Steve Covino
When you start looking at your phone as indicator number one, this is not grabbing my attention. I'd rather look at something stupid on social media. I'm feeling the compulsion to look. Or when you just start wiping down your counters or you pick up a broom, you're like, yeah, I guess the game is kind of boring. Because if I choose cleaning over that, it means I'm just trying to do two things at once.
J. Stu
We get those smudges on the window, they're coming out of commercial, and they pan to the crowd and there's a bunch of people dressed up like Buddy the elf and Joe Buck's like, hey, buddy, hope you're find your dad. And I'm like, well, not bad. Joe Buck doing elf impressions.
Steve Covino
There's nothing wrong with bringing personality. I thought it was great. Into a football game. You know, I think that's where sports made a wrong turn. It's sports. It's entertainment, and people take it far, too. Not that you shouldn't take it serious, but in a stuffy way.
Dan Patrick
Right.
Steve Covino
I always found it interesting that a bunch of sports fans wearing beer helmets watch dudes in suits talk about it.
J. Stu
Agree 100%.
Steve Covino
Guys with face paint in the stands and dudes with suits breaking it down, wearing cufflinks. Yeah, it's fun. So to see Joe Buck have a little fun with a boring game is okay with me.
J. Stu
So let's talk about the packers for a second. And I'm not one of these jabronis that have been downplaying.
Steve Covino
You are a jabroni, though.
J. Stu
The Green Bay packers, my wife, her family, they're packers fans. So, like, I got my year. To the streets of the Packers.
Steve Covino
Meaning squad. Oh, meaning you don't. You never talked about the Steelers, and.
J. Stu
I'm starting to see why the Steelers, because I never believed in them.
Steve Covino
But last night, there's certain teams that you just don't hit on and the public sort of forgets.
J. Stu
Let me. Let me first of all tell everyone about the worst beat last night. You know, Scott Van Pelta's bad beats. When a bet just misses. I just happen to see someone adamantly on social media talking about the best bet of the night might be Jordan Love. Under 29 attempts, passing the ball, because the thought was Green Bay would be up so big, they'd run the ball in the second half. And he's thrown under 30 passes the last, like, three out of four games. So I was like, you know what? Let me keep it. I didn't make the bet. And then in the fourth quarter, he's at 28. I'm like, ooh, this is gonna be close. They take him out for the last series. So anyone that made that bet. 28 attempts, and Vegas had it at 29.
Steve Covino
16 for 28, 182 yards, one tutty, no picks.
J. Stu
Just a very easy night of work for Green Bay. So to show that I'm not sleeping on this team, I immediately looked at the super bowl odds because I could see one team that I think is the best value. It's by far Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, and these Green Bay packers, they're just in a loaded division. You're Gonna hate this analogy, but dare.
Steve Covino
I say, if you do it like Colin Cowherd, I might like it.
J. Stu
Stars attract stars.
Steve Covino
Stars. And stars are stars.
Dan Patrick
Stars, stars.
Steve Covino
So.
J. Stu
When you're in A division with two 13 and two teams and everyone's talking about the gutsy, ballsy Lions and everyone's talking about Sam Darnold, it's not a good story anymore. This guy's legit. They're 13 and two. When you're talking about two 13 and two teams. And then you got the Packers 11 and four, two games behind them. It's so easy to sleep on them. Dare I say it's like my New York Mets last year. Yes, they caught lightning in a bottle in the playoffs until they hit J. Stu's Dodgers and reality struck. But the Mets spent the whole season in third place behind the Phillies and the Braves. And it made sense because those teams were arguably just better.
Steve Covino
Or the Mets stunk for like two months. That was part of it. You tuned out. I hate to call you out, but that's the reason. The reason you tuned out is because they sucked so bad. Which is why it was such a good story when they pulled it all together last month and a half of the season. But let it be known they sucked for a good run.
J. Stu
They did. But what I'm saying is they still ended up winning.
Steve Covino
Oh, man, they had a magical season. I'm not going to deny that.
J. Stu
Ended up winning 89 games and they sort of had a bad last week of the season. So the Mets are like a. They were like a 90 win team and went way under the radar because all year long it was all about Bryce Harper and the Phillies and oh, look at that. Atlanta won the World Series a couple years ago. And the sexier. Yeah, and I think no one really paid attention. And I think right now we're so hung up on. Man, listen, the Niners are out of it, so it's going to be a new representative in the nfc. Are the Lions finally going to do it? Oh my God, what a great story with Minnesota. And then the other narrative is like, oh, we don't really want Philly again. Unless you live in Philly. No one's talking about Green Bay right now.
Steve Covino
Dude, the super bowl odds.
Dan Patrick
Sweet.
J. Stu
The super bowl odds right now are fantastic. For the Green Bay Packers. The worst value. You want the worst value. Detroit and Kansas City are both roughly plus 400. Now for the non gambling fool, plus 400 means you bet 100, you win 400. That's terrible value. Kansas City plus 400. Plus 450 at some sports books. Plus 375. Meaning you're getting like three to one odds. Four to one odds right now in Vegas. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. They have the seventh best odds. And the reason is Kavino, that they're going to have to play every round of the playoffs and they're going to have to play every round on the RO add because they're a wild card. But right now, the Green bay packers are plus 1400 and plus 1500 in some places. That to me is great value. I know that means they have to go on the road multiple times, but do you really look at Green Bay and say they are a lesser team than Detroit? Minnesota.
Steve Covino
Yes.
J. Stu
Philadelphia.
Dan Patrick
Really?
Steve Covino
Yeah. And here's why. And I look at. I'm a fight fan. I look at football the same way I look at fights. I look for the best matchups. I like matchups. And I have a team. I watch the games. That entry interest me the most based on the matchup and any fight that goes down, I'm like, all right, well, who did he be? Or anytime I'm thinking of any boxer or fighter, I'm like, well, who did he beat? Who did he lose to?
J. Stu
By the way, the most weird fact about Steve Covino, if you're new to our show, most of all the things about you, and I'm sure you can name a lot of weird things about me. The fact that you don't have a football team.
Steve Covino
Every other sport.
J. Stu
Yes, football. He's like, I watched the matchups.
Steve Covino
I look at it this way.
J. Stu
How do you not have a lot of the great team?
Steve Covino
A lot of people don't. I don't think Colin Cowherd does either.
J. Stu
A lot of the greats.
Steve Covino
Yeah, yeah. Can I keep my opinions, you know, objective?
J. Stu
You're right.
Steve Covino
You're true. Analyst. It keeps me honest.
J. Stu
Cavito the journalist.
Steve Covino
And it keeps me tuned in because I'm in games that I like. As opposed to one team.
J. Stu
Please. You're as much of a journalist as Bobby the Brain.
Dan Patrick
He.
Steve Covino
Dude, you already tuned out. Cause your Niners are out. I'm still tuned in because I like the matchups. Every week wears an NFL hat like Rob Lowe did. That I do, I do. It's true. No, no, no. But like, anytime a boxer comes up, I'm like, well, what was his legacy? He lost three fights. Well, who did he lose to? And if he loses to all the big names, like, all right, he beat a nobody. Nobody, nobody, nobody. But he lost to three names. That I know. It's like, well, he was good, but he wasn't that good because he lost the big names. That's how I look up the Wikipedia and the fight records. The same way you're looking at. Well, who did Green Bay lose to? They're 11 and 4.
Dan Patrick
Right?
J. Stu
He's a big Roger Goodell fan.
Steve Covino
They're 11 and 4. They lost to the Eagles. They lost to the Lions twice, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, they lost to the Broncos in a preseason. That's preseason. So they lost to the Lions. Lions.
J. Stu
Get the schedule. If you're going to make this battle, get your schedule ready and they'll be looking at preseason games.
Steve Covino
No, I just said it. They lost to the Lions, Lions, Vikings, Eagles.
J. Stu
This is horse.
Steve Covino
Okay. No, no, that does not. Again, styles make fights. Matchups are what I love, so I get it. But if they can't beat those teams, that says a lot to me. I'm not saying that's the be all, end all, but it shows that those teams are a little bit better to me. Doesn't mean they can't make adjustments. Sports, life, football, it's all about adjustments. Do you think they have enough momentum? Where. Oh, they could beat an Eagles. They could beat a Lions. They could. You know what I mean? They could be that team. They could be a Vikings. I don't know. I think they're good, but they're like, right under. Right under that level of good. They got, like, a bright future. I think Vegas might disagree with you, Covino. Only because I just looked at the odds for Sunday. This is early. Packers are at the Vikings and they are getting a point and a half, which essentially means they're favored.
J. Stu
I bet Vegas thinks the packers are.
Steve Covino
And I would never bet against Vegas. Yeah, somehow they always know these things. And I often wonder, like, rich, what the hell do they know? How do they know?
J. Stu
I hate to call you up because it is, you know, Christmas Eve and you're Christmas Eve with your stupid ass Christmas Story shirt on.
Steve Covino
Hey, I came in festive. Yeah, we're all festive. Except you. Except for you. Rolls out in his pajamas. What is that, a buffalo on your shirt?
J. Stu
Yeah, it's a Catalina island triple. I was at the wine mixer.
Steve Covino
Yeah. So they call me out on.
J. Stu
I mean, I want to call you out.
Steve Covino
Your word is no better than mine. It's not like you have a crystal ball, you bonehead. Do you have Biff's Almanac where you're right and I'm wrong? I don't think so. I'm just telling you why I think what I think.
J. Stu
But you just said the matchups show you that when they played those better teams. Can I give you the scores of these games you speak of? And I want to tell you when these games were.
Steve Covino
But how do my facts lose to your just assumption here based on. The scores were close, but they still lost because you have a crystal ball. Like I said. Are you a genie of sorts?
J. Stu
Week one of the NFL, Brazil. That feels like an eternity ago. Remember that game?
Steve Covino
Yeah, I do.
J. Stu
We're talking about all the Brazilian booties. And remember there was the rumor like, should they wear green in Brazil? That would. That felt like 10 years ago. They lost 34, 29 in a, like a really back and forth week one game against the Eagles that you can't even count that three months later, that's like. That's a different team that. That starts crossing.
Steve Covino
What's the update on Hertz, by the way?
J. Stu
I don't know. I'll look it up a second. But you know, I want to tell you, concussion protocol. Yeah, it's still happening.
Steve Covino
Okay, so if you're going to tell me. Yeah, he's not playing. Yeah. Green Bay, you know, they would have the edge now. No question. It's a long season. Things change. I get all that.
J. Stu
That game was a two point game until a field goal iced it at the end and again, you know when that was.
Steve Covino
But hold on, Rich, as we go through this and it's fun to look back and see if they've improved. If you think there would be a different outcome, I do appreciate that. You know, there's a reason that we're talking about this. People are sleeping on them. I think they're. Because they're not. They haven't proven yet that they could beat that caliber of team. Yeah, they could. Romp of Saints 34, nothing.
J. Stu
So they lose week one in Brazil. Odd game. You're traveling around the world now. Let's go to Week 4. They lose to the Vikings by two in September.
Steve Covino
Again, this is the Vikings. Got any less though? They're on fire too.
J. Stu
But you know what, though? It's like you're a big baseball fan. It's like me talking about a Yankees game in April or May come post season. It's like, dude, that was a different squad. That was a different team.
Steve Covino
Could the packers win? I'm not hating on the Packers. I think they're a really exciting team.
J. Stu
They've lost close games to everyone in this division. That's the problem. They lost to The Lions twice. But you know what? Yeah, but know when they lost to the Lions last? A couple weeks ago. You know what that score was? 34,31. And it was fantastic. And it was in Detroit.
Steve Covino
Could they win? Yeah, but they didn't. Does Vegas say something different? Yeah. So I'm probably wrong. But the proof is here. And the wins and losses. If you ask me, I think I like the Packers. Let's make it clear. And that's the reason we're talking about them. People are sleeping on them. They could beat all of these teams any given day. I agree with that. But they haven't. I also think Tyson Fury could be Oleks. Anthur Usyk maybe on another day, but he didn't. So your thoughts? Other things we're sleeping on. I thought of a few bands. I thought of a few fighters. Maybe there's women, maybe there's shows. I told you, Dexter. Original sin. Who are the packers of your life? Who else are we sleeping on?
J. Stu
That's a good question.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Anything else? It's a brand. Can I give you a brand? Before we talk about rapid radios?
J. Stu
Don't sleep on rapid radios.
Steve Covino
Don't sleep on them. You go to Target with your wifey, right? You go in there for one thing, then you end up with a $500 bill. You ever see the brand Goodfellow at Target? I think people are sleeping on it.
J. Stu
It's a good brand. It's a good brand for a discount store. Good brand.
Steve Covino
You know how many people are like, yeah, where'd you get that? And I'm like, don't worry about it. You know why I say don't worry about it? Because I don't want to tell them I got it at Target. Goodfellow is a great clothing brand and everybody sleeps on it because no one wants to admit that they got their clothes. Target, It's a really good brand. I like it a lot. Okay.
J. Stu
I just don't like telling people when I buy clothes at Costco. That's what still.
Steve Covino
But I think it's like such a good quality seasonal. I'm not saying it's made from the greatest materials in all the land, but I really feel like, hey, if you need some shorts, you want to go to Lucky store and pay a hundred dollars for a pair of shorts, go to the mall and overpay or go to Target because you need shorts and you paid 30 bucks. You know what?
J. Stu
What else are we sleeping on besides the new Dexter and the Green Bay Packers? What in life is it? A new good looking woman on the scene. Is it a show? Is it a team? Is it the Packers?
Steve Covino
I agree. We're sleeping on the Packers.
J. Stu
Who are the packers of your life?
Steve Covino

Kelly Clarkson, right? Who threw some shade at her ex husband.
Steve Covino
I like how Rich pretended to not know, but he's like her biggest fan.
J. Stu
I do love Kelly Clarkson. Why are you making it sound like this? Shame in that I'm not too cool like you are.
Steve Covino
I'm calling out the fact that you pretended to not know.
J. Stu
Sorry.
Steve Covino
I know you love her.
J. Stu
Sorry it's not Limp Bizkit.
Steve Covino
You mean Limp Christmas.
J. Stu
I just want to make sure because I think this is one of those songs that breaks the Christmas code. And I saw that she threw some shade at her ex husband. And when you have kids, I know there's a lot of people living that divorce life where you try your hardest not to throw shade at your ex. I know it's not always easy. She posted a picture.
Steve Covino
Did you just give me a Trump right there? I know it's not always easy.
J. Stu
Not easy.
Steve Covino
Did you hear this guy? Not easy. Are you Ryan Seacrest or Donald Trump? Figure it out. I don't know who I'm talking to. I had to turn around because I thought Trump was there. Let me tell you something. It's not easy. So that's Kelly Clarkson, your American Idol.
J. Stu
It's not easy.
Steve Covino
It's not easy.
J. Stu
Anyway, you know, sometimes I morph between Donald and Seacrest, I guess. But she Threw shade at her ex husband posting a picture of four stockings by a fireplace and it said Kelly. Her two kids names and the last stockings said nope. And people are like, is that necessary? Like I feel like during the holiday.
Steve Covino
Season it's petty but it's funny. Maybe it was just a funny thing.
Dan Patrick
I don't know.
J. Stu
Yeah, I don't know. I like Kelly Clarkson.
Steve Covino
It's definitely petty.
J. Stu
Yeah, I know you're a bigger fan of Clay Aiken.
Steve Covino
Huge fan.
J. Stu
Ruben stuttered. Is Clarkson's ex Justin Worini? No, that was the guy she just beat on American Eye.
Steve Covino
I'm glad you guys got that.
J. Stu
Yeah.
Steve Covino
But he is the sweet one.
J. Stu
He's the sweet one.
Steve Covino
You know that? No.
J. Stu
On the Dr. Pepper commercial, you know the little tiny guy, the sweet one.
Steve Covino
It's the sweet one. That's Justin Warini.
J. Stu
Yes, Justin Warini.
Steve Covino
What do you think it was? Prince? No. Justin Guerini, man.
J. Stu
Yeah.
Steve Covino
So anyway, that's Jason Stu. He's on the phones at 87799 on Fox. J. Stu producing.
J. Stu
Always great to see Jason, always.
Steve Covino
We got Mark Ramsey. Is Cavino and Rich in for Dan Patrick? Spotty's on the videos, the most interactive show on radio. Again, we're on from 2 to 4 on the west, Monday through Friday, 5 to 7 on the east. But just search Covino and Rich wherever you stream podcasts. In fact, we have a bonus podcast called Over Promised which you could watch on fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. And that's basically what we're highlighting right now because we sort of talked about this on Over Promise but really didn't dive into the best R rated Christmas movies.
J. Stu
I'm wondering if we forgot any. And don't forget next hour if you're still hanging with us, which I hope you are. We caught up with Mike Tyson, Mike Tyson a week ago and he really is one of the most fascinating dudes on planet Earth.
Steve Covino
Merry Christmas.
J. Stu
And he talked about everything from edibles to his fight with Jake Paul to everything. So licking toads and drugs and everything. So Mike Tyson next hour right here in for Dan, Patrick, Covino and Rich. So let's get into this. Your top 5 rated R Christmas movies. When you're watching a holiday movie where you want some laughs, you don't care if there's a little nudity or some cursing. The movies that you're not watching around your kids that are highly entertaining.
Steve Covino
Well, I want to take it back on a Tuesday real quick.
J. Stu
What are you, Frank Stallone?
Steve Covino
Do, do, do, do. Take it back to the thrill of when you were a kid and just hoping that it was an R rated special feature on hbo, that music would kick in. Do, do, do.
J. Stu
Rated R. Yes.
Steve Covino
And you're so happy you stayed up late to watch that rated R movie. I just wanted to reminisce and experience that with you, Rich, because that was a thrill because you knew you were going to see some, some good, quality entertainment. When you saw that rated R, what.
J. Stu
Were you gonna say?
Dan Patrick
Some things.
Steve Covino
Good quality entertainment. Now, speaking of R rated movies, these are the best R rated Christmas movies according to us. And you could agree, disagree, add a few, but these are the top five. We agree on four of them. So number five is the night before.
J. Stu
If you have not seen this movie, it's Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, Joseph Gordon.
Steve Covino
Levitt, Lizzy Kaplan, James Franco.
J. Stu
It's just a story of a bunch of pals that are hanging out, you guessed it, the night before Christmas. Some of them, Seth Rogen, he's Jewish. So they were celebrating Hanukkah Christmas together, old pals. And they try to go to some crazy party where there's just a lot of like sex and drugs and craziness and it's just a good, like a good laugh out loud Christmas Hanukkah comedy.
Steve Covino
Yeah, it's their yearly reunion. And I saw it in 2015. I saw it with you.
J. Stu
I remember that.
Steve Covino
So it came out. 2015, number five, R rated, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Seth Rogen, the night before. Anthony Mackie, shout out to him. And that brings us to number four. When did this one come out? Trying to remember 2016. I believe it was a Christmas party.
J. Stu
Because you remember a young Jimmy Butler because he had a cameo in the movie.
Steve Covino
It was 2016. And that stands out to me, believe it or not, because he wasn't household name lovable. Everybody knows Jimmy Butler at the time. He was star on the rise. And he has this cameo as himself in the movie. So Office Christmas Party with our pal at the time, Olivia Munn, Jason Bateman, who everybody loves by the way. Carry On Aniston.
J. Stu
Have you watched Carry on yet?
Steve Covino
No, I haven't.
J. Stu
Fantastic on Netflix.
Steve Covino
Pretty good.
J. Stu
Pretty good.
Steve Covino
I know there's a lot of buzz. T.J. miller's in that one, guys, Office Christmas Party. And that's exactly what it's about.
J. Stu
The whole point of that movie is that it's like a company that's sort of like shutting down or they're trying. They need a couple big clients. So to entertain the clients, they throw a ridiculous party and Is Don Cheadle in that movie?
Steve Covino
No, it's Tim Meadows.
J. Stu
It is Tim Meadows. Tim Meadows. I'm joking. We always say it's like the same guy. So good. Office Christmas Party. Jason Bateman at his usual self. Everything about that movie is fantastic. So Jason Bateman, Aniston, Office Christmas Party. That's number four now.
Steve Covino
Number three on our list of R rated Christmas movies. Agree or disagree? Oh, 2008. Four Christmases.
J. Stu
I recommended this to my mom the other day and she's like, it was so funny. My mom's like, I need a Christmas movie to watch. And she's watched all the classic, like, happy ones. I go, you want to watch something just really funny? Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon, they both come from divorced families. Let's just say Christmas plans get out of hand if you haven't seen this movie. And they visit all four of the families.
Steve Covino
Yeah. And all four families obviously are very.
J. Stu
Different and dysfunctional and crazy. Four Christmases definitely gotta be on this list.
Steve Covino
You know what's crazy about it though? Rotten potatoes gave it 25% as I.
J. Stu
Look it up, that's why. Rotten Tomatoes, potatoes. I, I don't believe that crap. Because if that's the case, every Adam Sandler movie or dumb movie we loved in our childhood, Tommy Boyce, you know, Farley movies probably all got terrible ratings there too.
Steve Covino
So. Vince Vaughn at his best. Your favorite. Kristin Chenoweth again. Oh, Katie Mixon from Eastbound and down is in that movie. You'd love me some Katie Mixon. Four Christmases, 2008. That brings us to number two in our top rated R rated Christmas movies that you could check out this weekend instead of A Christmas Story, which I'm representing as we speak, which is the most overrated.
J. Stu
If it didn't air, if they didn't have a deal with like a cable provider, I don't know if that movie would have have ever gained steam. In fact, the sequel they made like a year ago was better than the original.
Steve Covino
I thought the sequel was good.
J. Stu
Yeah, I think, I think A Christmas Story misses the mark and everyone else loves it. I don't get it.
Steve Covino
Remember how we talked about the packers first hour and how people sleep on them, but now you're taking note. But it's good to be slept on, right? Because I don't know, it's a nice way to sneak in, like, ah, gotcha. You were looking for me, but here I am. I feel like people sleep on our number two because I think that people forget it's a Christmas movie. No, not Die Hard, you boneheads. Daddy's Home too. Daddy's Home 2 is so good that it could be my number one.
J. Stu
I mean, think of the cast. Will Ferrell.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Are you familiar? J. Stu. I feel like you're not. You're like, huh? Daddy's Home too. Daddy's Home.
J. Stu
Not a Christmas original. Yeah, yeah, so did I. And I watched the second one with like, maybe like, not the highest hopes I got. Sequel to Daddy's.
Steve Covino
It's really good.
J. Stu
It takes place around Christmas.
Steve Covino
It's a straight up a Christmas.
J. Stu
And it's Will Ferrell. It's Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg and their dads are Mel Gibson and John Lithgow.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
J. Stu
And they're on like a Cabin for the Holidays.
Steve Covino
John Cena's in it.
J. Stu
And John Cena. It's ridiculously entertaining.
Steve Covino
It really is.
J. Stu
Wait a minute.
Steve Covino
Have I seen this?
J. Stu
Which one does the.
Steve Covino
Do they Know It's Christmas?
J. Stu
Is that the original? At what are they at a movie theater? Yes, that's the one. That's the one. That's Part two. That's Part two? Yes. That's a great movie.
Steve Covino
So I've seen both of them.
Dan Patrick
Interesting.
Steve Covino
You have seen it? Yeah. See, people forget. That's Sleep on Daddy's Home too. It is a Christmas movie. It's not like a debate. Like, we think it's a Christmas. No, it is a Christmas day.
J. Stu
There's a funny fight scene during Nativity scene.
Steve Covino
Oh, it's really funny, man. And the cast is great. 2017. I'm like a tough. Like, I don't want to like these movies and I like this movie. So that's Daddy's Home 2. That's our number two in our best R rated Christmas movies. Now here's where it gets touchy because Rich and I couldn't disagree more on our next two selections here. Yes, Rich has a number one and I have a number one. And I can't necessarily say, oh, this is the greatest one of all time, but I just hate his so much that anything's better than his choice.
J. Stu
My choice for number one is a movie that I feel like you have to watch every year.
Steve Covino
Barf.
J. Stu
It's a combination of like eight great stories into one fantastic tale. There's heart, there's humor.
Steve Covino
There's a porn scene.
J. Stu
It's not a porn scene. They're porn standards.
Steve Covino
You know, nothing says Merry Christmas like a good porn scene. Am I right?
J. Stu
Maybe you want to cover your kid's eyes during that part. There's office romance. There's sadness if you don't appreciate love. Actually, you're probably a bad person.
Steve Covino
Weakest movie ever, honestly. And I know J Stu, you like it. So I feel bad because I love Jason. I can't believe you like this. I honestly. You're a man of great taste. The soundtrack. I can't believe it.
J. Stu
Phenomenal.
Steve Covino
I hate this movie.
J. Stu
Got some Beatles, some Kelly Clarkson, a little everything.
Steve Covino
He likes to do the dance that Hugh Grant does.
J. Stu
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Now here's the thing. Rich and I have been doing a show for 20 years, right. And Rich always says this is his favorite Christmas movie. I do find it to be appropriate for this conversation because we're specifically discussing R rated Christmas movies. Okay. So I do believe that. Okay, maybe it's on this list or at least it belongs in the discussion because it's an R rated Christmas movie. But he brings it up all the time as his all time favorite no matter what. And that's where I have the problem. But I'm gonna say Bad Santa as a. As a current day. Not even current day, but a newer classic for sure. Because I feel like it started the really jump started the genre of R rated Christmas movies. Bad Santa. Thurman, Merman, Fortune, Feamster. As Thurman Merman. Right. Or is that Iowa Sam? I can't tell. Thurman, Merman. Billy Bob Thornton. Bernie Mac. Bad San Santa, bro. So your thoughts? Cuz I despise love. Actually. Give me a break. I watched that movie.
J. Stu
I hated it.
Dan Patrick
I don't know.
J. Stu
What can you hate about it? I didn't like say like all these.
Steve Covino
Was any redeeming anything.
J. Stu
There's like.
Steve Covino
I like the beginning scene of the. That starts with the slow motion airport scene, right?
Dan Patrick
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Yeah. I love. I thought that was like a beautiful scene. Everything else sucked. And people forget that the most iconic scene from love actually are the cards, right? The cards to the. Yeah.
J. Stu
With Rick from the Walking Dead.
Steve Covino
Right. That's the thing most people think.
J. Stu
Wait, is that Rick from the Walking Dead? That's what he's known for.
Steve Covino
It is.
J. Stu
Yeah. Andrew Lincoln. But did Bad Santa not make your top five? Rich not a fan. So out. Yeah, me too. So out of the top five, by the way.
Steve Covino
They both came out. They Both came out. 2003. Love actually. And Bad Santa. Interesting. Yeah.
J. Stu
I mean, Billy Mack singing his Christmas song.
Steve Covino
Corny.
J. Stu
Liam Neeson trying to find love.
Steve Covino
I mean, come on, that's his weakest role ever. And I love Liam Neeson.
J. Stu
Hugh Grant.
Steve Covino
Corny. Be sure to catch the live edition.

Be we caught up last week with the legend Mike Tyson. We wanted you to hear it and here's how it went down.
Steve Covino
Let's welcome with glory and renown iron Mike Tyson. What's up Mike? What Up, Mike.
Rich Davis
You guys are nuts.
Dan Patrick
Okay.
J. Stu
No, you're nuts, Mike. You're nuts, man. Yeah, we're obviously huge fans and, I don't know, the most intriguing man in the world. Mike Tyson on the show.
Steve Covino
Most interesting man on the planet. It's a pleasure to be hanging with you, to see you again. So, Mike, let's get right into it, man. Not many people could break the Internet with their butt cheeks, but you did. How did it make you feel, man? Tell us about that moment.
Rich Davis
Hey, television had really changed. That became a big thing. That's just so ridiculous.
Steve Covino
Did you expect that to be even a little story when the fight was over?
Rich Davis
That's not important. I've been that way my whole career. My butt's been showing off. Took a picture of it.
Steve Covino
Hey, did you ever think, well, maybe it's just better than ever because it seemed like the whole world was taken by it?
Rich Davis
Hey, man, I guess so. I don't know. There's a new time and error.
J. Stu
Mike, as we. As we signed on here to see you, you lit up Tyson 2.0. Last time we saw you in Vegas, you handed me a bag of your Mic bites. The edibles. Fantastic. I love them.
Rich Davis
Yeah.
J. Stu
I gotta tell you, I see Aaron Rodgers doing ayahuasca. You were smoking toad venom. You got Tyson 2.0. Tell us what we gotta be trying. And what do you recommend for a guy that's open to this?
Rich Davis
Hey, I recommend you try everything.
J. Stu
Yeah. Open your mind up.
Rich Davis
You try everything. Yeah.
Steve Covino
What would you say you've learned from your experiences with toad venom and all your experiences?
Rich Davis
That death is beautiful and death is nothing to be afraid of.
Steve Covino
Is that why you're willing to leave it all in the ring?
Rich Davis
I don't know. I think that's just my personality. But what I learned from all of this medicine was not to be afraid of death.
Steve Covino
You know, that's kind of an interesting statement, because a lot of us think about those things right before we're going to sleep.
J. Stu
Right.
Steve Covino
Some deeper stuff, if you're not afraid of things like that. Mike, from your experiences, what do you think about before you go to bed? What sort of stuff runs through your mind?
Rich Davis
Listen, I don't know. I think about always trying to be the best I could possibly be, the best me that could be before I go to bed.
Steve Covino
Well, you're a great dad. We know that. You're a great family man. Congrats on your beautiful family. We saw your family on the Netflix special. We saw your daughter is a great tennis player. We saw you there supporting your daughter? Is there any other sport Mike Tyson could have competed in besides boxing?
Rich Davis
I don't know. I would have liked to try tennis.
Steve Covino
Well, do you ever.
Rich Davis
We all became tennis fans over here.
Steve Covino
Are you any good? Have you tried or. No, I don't think so.
Rich Davis
No. I tried to hit the ball before it went so far in the air.
J. Stu
Imagine Mike in the 80s wearing those little John McEnroe shorts.
Rich Davis
Oh, yeah, it's like me playing baseball with a tennis racket.
Steve Covino
No, but you're such a disciplined guy, right? And you could be great at anything you put your mind to. You showed that in boxing. Do you think there's another sport you could have been a professional at if you dedicated yourself to that?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I have no idea about that. No, I have no idea.
Steve Covino
Just boxing.
Rich Davis
All I knew was boxing.
J. Stu
Yeah, Mike, I'm a big Mets fan. And there's a classic picture of you in the 80s with Daryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden and, you know, at the height of what they were doing and what you were doing, what athletes. Now are you intrigued by, like, who are you following in the boxing world? NBA, football there? Are there athletes you keep your eye on?
Rich Davis
I'm just. I'm just a guy chilling out. I'm not much of. I don't watch sports much besides tennis. I don't know, I just. Most of. The. Most of the guys that play sport, I know, it's athletes. A friend of mine, they don't play anymore.
Steve Covino
So we gotta talk about the fight. Mike Tyson's here on the Covino and Rich Show. What do you have to say to all the critics who say you held back on punches? There was a lot of viral clips. What do you have to say to the critics that brought that up?
Rich Davis
Oh, no, I don't remember the fight that much. I kind of blanked out a little.
Steve Covino
Did you watch it back or anything or.
Rich Davis
No, I'm gonna watch the fight. No, I have not.
Steve Covino
Okay, so there was a lot of casual fans. First, I wanna thank you again for bringing people together. It was like the 90s all over again. We got together with friends, we had a great night. It was highly entertaining. But then, of course, clips go viral. A lot of casual fans speculating. There's a few clips where, like, you're holding back a right hand punch, in my opinion, as a fan, to not be exposed so that you don't get hit. Is that what was happening in that clip or you don't even know?
Rich Davis
Yep, I was just listening. Know what I remember?
Steve Covino
No.
Rich Davis
Coming back from the first round. And then the next day, I remember Jacob doing some kind of. I don't know, what was he doing at the ring?
J. Stu
He was a little bow at the end, he bowed.
Rich Davis
That's the last thing I remember.
Steve Covino
Dude. There was a lot of people online that said, that's when you should have hit him. When he was bowing down like that.
Rich Davis
That'S when he was gonna hit me. That's why I was like, what the hell is he doing?
Steve Covino
So it went that quick for you?
J. Stu
Yes, Mike.
Rich Davis
I was not tired. I wasn't sweaty. I went to a hotel. No, I went to the house that we stayed in. I left the house, me and my wife, my kid. Then we went to the after party. Then we came back.
Steve Covino
So for us, right, it was two minute rounds and it felt really quick for us. We were like, dang, we wanted more. Is there anything about the fight you would have changed based on the experience?
Rich Davis
Oh, not at all. Listen, I wouldn't have realized any of it if it went three minute rounds. I didn't realize it.
J. Stu
Question. You come down to the ring solo. I can only imagine there were people that wanted to come down to the ring with you. Who wanted to come down to the ring and why did you choose to have no one with you?
Rich Davis
Hey, listen, someone just said, mike, is your time to come out. And I just came out.
J. Stu
I would assume anyone wanted to come in.
Steve Covino
I would assume there was celebrities, colleagues, friends of yours that wanted to be out there. But you did it. We were rooting for you, man, pulling for you so hard. And I know you often say, we're fans, Mike. You don't care about ego and legacy. But after something like that, do you think it adds to your legacy? How do you think you're viewed after this fight?
Rich Davis
Wow, I never thought about that. You know, the day after the fight, right after the day after I woke up, I told my wife, why did I do that? I don't know. I just don't know what the hell goes on.
Steve Covino
And what was her response? Like, what was your family's response to everything?
Rich Davis
They were just supporting me.
J. Stu
I can only imagine. We saw your great relationship with your daughter, like Covino said on the Netflix special. And by the way, Mike, are you brushing your teeth more now or what?
Rich Davis
Working on it.
Steve Covino
Okay.
J. Stu
Okay. I saw the great relationship you had as a dad and daughter. Was it cool for your family to see that the public rallied around you so much all these years later? I feel like everyone I knew was just like, come on, let's go, Mike.
Steve Covino
Everybody.
J. Stu
You had the world behind you. Was that a cool feel to know you still had it and your family to see that?
Rich Davis
I'm so happy. I am happy my family saw that. But we don't normally go around and talk about me fighting and stuff. I say I'm gonna fight, and then they say, dad's gonna fight, right?
Steve Covino
So that was like a different side of them, of you for your.
Rich Davis
This is like a party for them, like going out, but normally, yeah, Daddy's gonna fight.
Steve Covino
It was a party for everybody, man. Rich and I were buddies in Miami. Rooting, Yawn. Now, there's been a lot of rumors since the fight. Are there any rumors you'd like or is there any truth to any of the rumors? Is there anything you want to share with the Fox Sports Radio Nation about what's next?
Rich Davis
The real fight?
J. Stu
Yeah, it was a real fight.
Steve Covino
What did you think of Jake's power, man, when you were in there?
Rich Davis
I don't remember it.
Steve Covino
You don't. You didn't even remember it?
Rich Davis
I heard my body, but my body was really sore.
Steve Covino
It was sore the next day.
Rich Davis
Yeah, my body, my chest, my stomach and stuff was really sore.
Steve Covino
Well, dude, you were in great shape. You still look great, Mike. Mike Tyson on the Covino and Rich show. Speaking of rumors, there was a rumor today that's one of your buddies that you fought not too long ago. Roy Jones Jr. Said that he wants to maybe test it out with Jake Paul and test Jake Paul's chin. He's 55 years old. Do you think that Roy Jones Jr. Could handle something like that? You were just there.
Rich Davis
He's fast enough, though. Yeah. If Roy's training, Roy could still do a lot of stuff. He got to be training, though.
Steve Covino
He has to be training now, Mike.
Rich Davis
Dave punted hard.
Steve Covino
He does. I know. He's a big dude, man.
Rich Davis
So bad.
Steve Covino
Well, you know, years ago, you talked about the fighting guts, right? You didn't have the fighting guts years ago to continue going on. So what inspired you at 58 to do it finally?
Rich Davis
I don't know.
Steve Covino
Just.
Rich Davis
Yeah, let's fight Jake. You know, we were talking. We were talking about it for years. Let's just do it. It.
Steve Covino
Just for the fun of it, for the excitement of it and to be part of history.
J. Stu
I mean, and I'm sure, Mike, the. The payday sort of helped out a little bit too, right? I mean, it's. It was not.
Rich Davis
No, no, no. That. That payday is not going to change my lifestyle at all.
Steve Covino
Well, I see. Is that your house right There.
J. Stu
I was going to say you're living in a beautiful place.
Rich Davis
Yes, I am.
Steve Covino
Looks like you're living large right now.
Rich Davis
Very fortunate. I'm very fortunate. Yeah. Thank God. A lot of whack ball.
J. Stu
Mike, of all. Of all the pop culture moments you brought us, you know, for. For guys that are in our age range, the fight you delivered Mike Tyson's punch out the Hangover. What are you most shocked by that people remember? Is it the cameo in the hangover? Is it the video game? Like, what Are you shocked that was as popular as it was with your legacy?
Rich Davis
Well, I think it's going to be the ass now, but the Tyson butt shoes.
Steve Covino
Yo, Mike, you should come out with an edible Tyson's but cheeks, right? So that people can eat it.
Rich Davis
Oh, I like that.
Steve Covino
You like that? Tyson's cheeks.
Rich Davis
Oh, sweet cheeks.
J. Stu
Tyson, sweet cheeks. I can see it now.
Steve Covino
You know what? Yeah. Rich will be the first to eat them. Rich probably wants to eat them right now. Rich loves him. You gotta give me, like, a little small percentage, Mike. It's my idea. And you know Rich, we talked to Mike years ago. He said he never. Mike, you said you never played the video game. You never played Tyson's punch out ever. That's what you told us years ago.
Rich Davis
Commercials. I wasn't into games back then, Ahead of my time.
Steve Covino
Well, I don't know if you're into games now, but my next question was, what does Mike Tyson do to keep himself happy? Obviously, you have a beautiful family. What brings you the most happiness now? You had a lot of fun at that fight. It was fun for everybody.
Rich Davis
This is what we were talking about. That fight was such a big ascendo. We were so up and high. We were so excited. The fight's over. Boom. Wow. I'm kind of depressed a little bit. You know, you got to get back in our little situation, back to living what we know because we fight. We're training for nine months.
J. Stu
Mike, I saw on the docu series on Netflix that you were saying, no matter where you go, wherever you go, people want to say hi to Mike Tyson. And you said. Your wife said that if that wasn't the case, you'd hate it. Do you. Do you go anywhere where someone doesn't recognize you?
Steve Covino
No.
Rich Davis
No. My wife said I probably lose my mind the way they know me.
J. Stu
Yeah. It's gotta be fun to be Mike Tyson.
Steve Covino
Yeah. What is it like, Mike? Do you go grocery shopping on your own? I mean, you're probably the most recognizable guy on the planet.
Rich Davis
I do everything on My own. I will run into a store real quick and buy something. Come out. Yeah.
Steve Covino
Are you immune to people's reaction, though? Because everywhere you go, like, I remember this was years ago. I was on West 57th street in New York City, and I saw Muhammad Ali walking down the street. But what I noticed first was everybody standing still, just watching him, like, oh, my goodness, this is Muhammad Ali walking down the street. Do you notice people staring at you and. Because that's a thrill for anybody wherever you are.
Rich Davis
Hey, listen. Yeah, I had to go to the police station to let my probation officer know I was leaving town. All the police were looking at me like, wow.
Steve Covino
See, there he is. Gotta feel great, man. That's the legacy that we're talking about. That's important to us because we're such fans.
J. Stu
Mike, because of Tyson 2.0, I feel like people that smoke weed or enjoy that culture, as Mike lights up right now.
Steve Covino
Yeah.
J. Stu
People say, oh, I want to smoke with Snoop Dogg or Willie Nelson. Is Mike Tyson now on that list of celebrities people want to smoke with? Do people come up to you?
Rich Davis
I don't think so. I'm not too exciting when I'm smoking. You know, Snoop. Snoop is pretty exciting and animated when he's smoking, so it's good to be around.
J. Stu
Are you just. Are you just chill? You more like a sink into the couch and get all deep.
Rich Davis
I'm just a listener. I like to listen.
Steve Covino
Who's the coolest guy you smoked with? Your favorite guy you smoked with or woman?
Rich Davis
There's nobody cooler than Snoop.
Steve Covino
Yeah, that's gotta be an experience. Hey, what would have happened? We were at your ranch one time, right? And you were smoking out at your ranch. We were just so happy to be there, just taking it all in. But there was a part of us that sort of wanted to join in a little circle just to say we smoked with you. Would that have been overstepping if we jumped in there?
Rich Davis
That's what you did for. You did a smoke.
Steve Covino
Totally blew the opportunity. Because we want. Yeah, we kind of wanted to. Hey, Mike, we saw you another time in Vegas. You were doing your podcast. Tell us about, like, that journey, that venture. Do you like broadcasting? Do you like doing podcasts?
Rich Davis
This is something that's funny. My wife got me into this stuff. Yeah, I'm not that crazy about. I don't love it. Love it. Crazy. But I'm very good at it.
Steve Covino
Yes, I was just gonna say that. And you're. You're one man show. Like, are we gonna see more of that? Because you said it. You, you have the post fight blues right now, right? So what is that? Next thing you're gonna dive into, man, Otherwise you're gonna get bored.
Rich Davis
Well, we're working on that right now. We do it all. My new show is coming out. It's gonna be a Netflix.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Cause you are, you're great at it, man. So even if you don't like it for your fans, I think you gotta do it now.
J. Stu
Mike, I feel like. Mike, what about? Because I feel like when I see the podcast, you love to have deep conversations. Have you ever thought about just sitting down with other fighters and celebrities and having like deep conversations? Is that sort of what, what a TV show might be?
Rich Davis
Not necessarily the deep conversation, but it's explaining to somebody that what's your existence, who you are, you know?
J. Stu
Hey, Mike, you ever sit down with Neil DeGrasse Tyson? I feel like the other Tyson, I mean, that guy's pretty deep, you know.
Rich Davis
That guy something else, isn't he?
J. Stu
Yeah.
Steve Covino
Tyson and Tyson. That's a good show. Tyson and Tyson. Hey, Mike, I know one of your heroes growing up was Roberto Duran, right?
Rich Davis
Yes.
Steve Covino
Now, from Today's perspective, these 135, 140 guys, do you think any of those dudes have the same fighting guts? Like of the Devin Haneys, Tank Davis's, Ryan Garcias, Tiafimos?
Rich Davis
Of that we can't overlook those guys. Those guys are tough guys. They just fought in different areas.
Steve Covino
Yeah. Do you have a favorite of all those young guys? You keep your ear to that a little bit or just heavyweights?
Rich Davis
They're all sensational too. I think Ryan and Devin should fight again.
Steve Covino
Yeah, I agree with that.
Rich Davis
That was a good fight, man. That was a good one.
Steve Covino
Do you still make a night of it? Let's say there's a big fight coming up, right? What's it like for you? How do you enjoy the fight? Because you gave us all these opportunities, all these memor you sold us on boxing in the 90s. For me it was Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, you know, you'd get a pay per view, you'd have friends and family over. What's that like? If there's a good fight and you're interested, how do you party? Do you invite people over your house? Do you?
Rich Davis
I try to go to the fight if possible, but we not going to the fight. People just come over the house. As I go over someone's house.
J. Stu
Mike, I've seen you at fights where when they put you on the big screen, you get the biggest applause of all, does that make you feel good? Because it's got to, right? They go around the crowd. When they go to Mike Tyson, the crowd goes nuts. Is that the respect you feel you've earned over the years?
Rich Davis
Hey, I'm just very grateful, that's all. I'm very. I'm becoming familiar with the act of gratitude.
Steve Covino
You know, we were talking about other fights. You got Fury Usyk coming up at the end of the month, the rematch, Fury USYK2. Any thoughts on that? Because I know you have connections with Tyson.
Rich Davis
Fury could have won that fight. He wasn't playing around early in the fight.
J. Stu
I agree.
Rich Davis
Won that fight.
Steve Covino
So do you think he's got the second one?
Rich Davis
I want him to have. I want him to be serious enough.
Steve Covino
You know, I know you like him, but how did you get in Ngannou's corner against him? I always thought that was interesting too, because Fury looks up to you so much. Did you feel bad going against him?
Rich Davis
I don't even know how that happened, but it happened. I don't know how the hell that happened.
J. Stu
Well, Mike Tyson 2.0 miketyson.com People could support all the stuff you're doing. Any. Any other stuff. Any other stuff going on right now. You got the Netflix thing in the works?
Rich Davis
Yeah, I'm doing a Netflix one man show. And we'll start doing movies again. Yes, you know, God willing. You know, the sky's the limits.
J. Stu
Nice, man. Well, listen, next time we're in Vegas, hopefully we bump into you and we could take you up on that. Maybe we'll have some mic bites together, some edibles.
Steve Covino
No, Sweet cheeks. Mike, sweet cheeks.
J. Stu
Sweet cheeks.
Rich Davis
I can't believe I said Mike sweet cheeks.
Steve Covino
Mike, sweet cheeks. And then the tagline is, everybody's eating them.
Rich Davis
Oh, God. You gotta get this guy. We gotta get this guy some money.
Steve Covino
I'm trying to get in on that, man.
J. Stu
Mike, we'll see you in Vegas. Let's hang, man.
Rich Davis
Let's hang. We gotta help this guy. Give this guy some money.
Steve Covino
Thank you. Hey, Mike, wanna thank you for everything. Congrats on your career, on being a better person, and thank you. Thank you for your time.
J. Stu
Just thank you and thanks for all the joy you brought. Mike.
Rich Davis
Thank you, guys.
J. Stu
Later, bro.
Steve Covino
Have a great one.
J. Stu

J. Stu
