Should the early church fathers of the first 2 centuries AD be given greater weight in their biblical and theological commentary than their successors? Rod and Pete make the case that they should.  As the perfect and pure signal of God's word is "telephone-gamed" down the ages, those closest to the signal likely have the best perspective other than the Bible itself.  And we should treat new interpretations and doctrines with suspicion that arose after them.
