In your car, in the shower, on a walk through the Dylan Hour. Feeling sweet, feeling sour? I ain't feel nothing, Dillon. My couch is open. It's better than therapy. All you soccer moms, all your theys and thems, all your bottom boys, bivisexual femmes come one and all disassociate with me. It's free, grab a drink or two or three. You have no friends. All good, you got me. It's the Dealing Hour.
Sherry Cola
Love you.
Dylan Mulvaney
Welcome back to the Dylan Hour. I'm your host, Dylan. I hope this is an okay time because I'm feeling very conflicted if I am a good girl or a bad girl. And I kind of dressed as what I thought was a bad girl as a throwback to my 16 year old self. Because when I was 16 years old, there was this like really expensive boutique in Sandy Diego where I couldn't afford to shop there like some of the other like really Richy Richie girls, but they would let me clean the store after hours and I would get $10 in store credit to buy certain items from the store. And this was one of the shirts that I purchased with my store credit. And I thought it made me a bad girl because I obviously thought this was like a punk band or something really edgy that just was really gonna show, like who I was as the bad girl that I wanted. And when I got home, I'm like walking around the house, you know, my dad's like, what's up with the shirt? And I was like, oh, nothing. And he was like, you know who that is, right? And I was like, no. And he's like, that's Ricky Martin. And I was like, what? And he was like, that's a very gay man. And so I don't think that this shirt had the effect that I Thought it was gonna have, but Ricky Martin is on my shirt today and I haven't worn this in probably 10 years. But I busted it out for our guest because I think this is someone who isn't afraid, get a little dirty, be a little bad, but also has the good girl edge too to her. And she is multi hyphenate of our dreams. Stand up comedian, actress, voiceover artist. She does it all. And a friend that we. We got to host or not host, but announced for an award thing a few months ago, which we'll talk about. Everyone give it up for Sherry Cola.
Sherry Cola
What? The rumors are true. Okay. All of the rumors are.
Dylan Mulvaney
The rumors are true. Are you sure? Do you feel like a good girl or bad girl?
Sherry Cola
A little bit of both. Just get you a girl who's a true bi. You know what I mean? First and foremost.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, you're looking very femme today, honey.
Sherry Cola
The range, the range is good.
Dylan Mulvaney
It's really good.
Sherry Cola
I will go from a lemon to a passion fruit and at the blink of an eye.
Dylan Mulvaney
And we are going to be sipping on everyone a little drink that we're calling the good girls Staying good because it's a club soda with lime.
Sherry Cola
Just for a little carbonation. Cheers.
Dylan Mulvaney
Just for a little carbonation.
Sherry Cola
So the goosebumps, you know, get erect.
Dylan Mulvaney
And so you are not drinking right now.
Sherry Cola
I've been off of alcohol.
Dylan Mulvaney
What a good girl.
Sherry Cola
Shockingly. Tell us for like seven months.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, when did this start?
Sherry Cola
So I'm putting it down. That is very delicious. What brand of sparkling water is that? Oh, Megan, you outdid yourself just like I requested.
Dylan Mulvaney
We needed it needs a brand partnership, me and you. Super bowl.
Sherry Cola
Okay, I'm curious. When you're at an event.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
What do you do with this? Do you actually take it and squeeze it?
Dylan Mulvaney
Never. She falls out every time.
Sherry Cola
I always just, just. Okay, well, I mean if I'm feeling frisky, I'll do the. I'll rim it. I'll go 361. I will be on the turntables. Ones and twos.
Dylan Mulvaney
Ricker, ricker, ricker.
Sherry Cola
You know, u turns doing donuts and then I just drop it.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, but seven months ago.
Sherry Cola
Seven months ago. My story starts seven months ago when. No, but my girlfriend and I gave it up for lent just to have a self challenge and we just kept going.
Dylan Mulvaney
And was lent a normal thing for you to take part in?
Sherry Cola
You know, I love trying new things.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah, yeah.
Sherry Cola
My girlfriend grew up catholic. I mean she, you know, this was.
Dylan Mulvaney
Her first lent ever.
Sherry Cola
No, because I think Lent Yeah, I guess. At least full commitment.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay?
Sherry Cola
We just decided, why not?
Dylan Mulvaney
And you never, you never. You know it's only 40 days, right? Right. No one told you.
Sherry Cola
I saw the movie, Josh.
Dylan Mulvaney
Harvey, like you're telling me we could be drinking vodka right now.
Sherry Cola
We could, we could be blacked out. You could be holding my hair.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you went. You're showing God that you love him the most.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, I said let's go. Overtime.
Dylan Mulvaney
This is now way overtime.
Sherry Cola
This is like triple, double, quadruple, all that stuff. And.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you look hot and so it's obviously paying off.
Sherry Cola
It does pay off.
Dylan Mulvaney
And like, do you feel good?
Sherry Cola
Yes. Because, you know, usually when I'm drunk, I'm ordering Taco Bell at midnight.
Dylan Mulvaney
Right.
Sherry Cola
Or period.
Dylan Mulvaney
But. And then you go to. Oh, this is actually gonna be one of my. We're doing, gonna do bitter and sweet of the week. My bitter is that I think I've been saying yes to too many events.
Sherry Cola
And honey, we're on the same page.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think we're. I think it's getting a little much. But I usually, sometimes cause of my anxiety, I'll go and I'll like definitely have a cocktail and like a Tuesday. And then I wake up not feeling that great. And, and so you don't have that now.
Sherry Cola
I gotta say, that's one of the pros of this non alcohol journey. I'll be back, by the way, just for the record. I'll be back.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
And I'll be there for day. You will be shaking and stirring.
Dylan Mulvaney
Watch what happens live. I'm the bartender, bitch. Oh, that could be fun. That's a good pitch. Actually. I think Andy should have sherry on properly to have her first drink in a matter of months and just. And then I'm behind the bar making ever clear shots.
Sherry Cola
Inebriation. First of all, I'm already a lightweight. So on live television, cheapest date. That's going to be something.
Dylan Mulvaney
Talking about Real Housewives.
Sherry Cola
But I, Yeah. So shockingly, that's my word of the week. Shockingly.
Dylan Mulvaney
Shockingly.
Sherry Cola
Shockingly. I don't miss it. The solidarity is nice.
Dylan Mulvaney
So if you feel awkward at an event and you're together, it's like, oh, well, let's just go home.
Sherry Cola
Well, here's the thing, you know, my friend is launching a wine and there's gonna be an event to celebrate. And I told myself, I'm like, okay, I'll have a glass of wine because you know, it's a big moment for her and you know, it's not like I'm off Off alcohol. Like, I'll do it. But then I. I keep thinking about it. I'm like, I don't know. Cause I'm off alcohol. And then it's like, if you're abstinent, they're not gonna say, like, just have sex once. Well, and then go back to being abstinent. I mean, of course, you know, it all depends case by case. But I'm starting to think, like, maybe I won't have the glass of wine.
Dylan Mulvaney
Speaking of abstinence, I. The last time I partake or partook in Lent was I gave up touching myself for 40 days.
Sherry Cola
Oh, that's good.
Dylan Mulvaney
And on the 41st day, I called up a guy I was in college, and I went to his house, and it. It wasn't as good as I thought it was gonna be. And I should have kept going. M. It actually wasn't. It was bad. Yeah.
Sherry Cola
You see?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah. What was your go to?
Sherry Cola
I love an Aperol Spritz.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, us in Italy.
Sherry Cola
Girl.
Dylan Mulvaney
I'm like, that could be back. That's where you break it. It's White Lotus, baby.
Sherry Cola
It's only if I'm overseas.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
You know, in the middle of a murder mystery. That's when I will drink.
Dylan Mulvaney
When you said this again. You have to. You know, how about your bitter and sweet of the week? What's the high and low? Sherry Cola.
Sherry Cola
That's a bitter. You know, I think I'm. I'm with you on us being. Yes. Women. And we just refuse to sit at home in silence.
Dylan Mulvaney
But. But you know what I realized, too, when we go to these events that, like, people won awards at. You go. Those people didn't go to a certain. A lot of events so that they could win that award and do something that. That equaled award worthiness. And yet here I am at all these. And I was like, wow, I really gotta go. Probably do something to make sense of me being here.
Sherry Cola
No. You know what? Being there is inspiring.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
1. I never regret going, ever.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. Inspirational speaker. Go.
Sherry Cola
3. My voice is absolutely. I'm so emotional right now. 3. I need to remember that a lot of people are not invited. And we are somebody is what I'm saying to you.
Dylan Mulvaney
And it's so. We should be lucky that we're there.
Sherry Cola
Not lucky, but it's like, I guess it's nice to enjoy it.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah. You know what I mean?
Sherry Cola
But I do agree that we need to balance, like, how many.
Dylan Mulvaney
And the food seems to be pretty good.
Sherry Cola
I went to one that has Shake Shack, but also, I couldn't I was wearing, like, a white. Like, I was like, this is gonna.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, you gotta be careful.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. Get too saucy for my own good. But, yeah, I'm learning that the bitter.
Dylan Mulvaney
Maybe you're bitter.
Sherry Cola
I think we have the same bitter. Not that I'm mad about it. I just need to learn to perhaps pick and choose, you know, because I. I don't know how to use my diaphragm like you, in terms of the vocal ability. So I will lose my voice every night. I'm a talking machine.
Dylan Mulvaney
We don't show over the loud music. No. I'm addicted.
Sherry Cola
The ketchups and the hearts of hearts.
Dylan Mulvaney
I know.
Sherry Cola
While Saweetie is on blast.
Dylan Mulvaney
And the content.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, the content.
Dylan Mulvaney
I feel weird, though. Well, it's funny because I. I feel like sometimes I get invited to these events as, like, the TikTok girl, and they think they're gonna get a TikTok out of you, but I'm like, honey, I don't know if this is really the time and place to be pulling my. I. Do you have any, like, shame in, like, whipping it out for, like, a funny moment?
Sherry Cola
Well, I don't necessarily have that. The pressure of that obligation, though.
Dylan Mulvaney
They're not. Well, because. Let's talk your TikTok presence right now. What's going on?
Sherry Cola
I don't really have one. Except one viral video. 11 million views. That's pretty good, right?
Dylan Mulvaney
That's amazing.
Sherry Cola
And it's because. Not an easy thing to put on my soul sister Vanessa Michaels said, you have to put this on TikTok. I was like, fine. My girlfriend and I were at a wedding, okay? So my blazer broke. All the buttons are off. And this is like family, right? At this wedding. So I'm just open bra out. Just out. And we go do that 360 spinny camera thing. Oh, yeah, photo op. So my girlfriend. Oh, I'm sorry.
Dylan Mulvaney
Like a glam bot at the wedding.
Sherry Cola
Minutes after we caught the bouquet together.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay?
Sherry Cola
So this was, like the night of our life. It was huge. And so we're doing this thing, and I hop off the platform before it's over. So that camera thing is swinging 19 miles per hour. And so I hop off, and immediately I see it because I'm honestly quick as a cat.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
I move my foot back up, completely avoided slattering my. Slattering. Shattering my shin.
Dylan Mulvaney
Slattering my shin.
Sherry Cola
And the best part is caught on video, right?
Dylan Mulvaney
No.
Sherry Cola
So not only do we have the slow mo thing of me, like, we also have homegirl from High school Stephanie on the sidelines recording the bts.
Dylan Mulvaney
So of me, you have, like, influencers in the wild.
Sherry Cola
Influencers in the wild.
Dylan Mulvaney
And you got the real thing.
Sherry Cola
Goodness. I'm an athlete first.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
Is what this video is about.
Dylan Mulvaney
I wish I could, but as a trans woman, it just doesn't feel like the time for that. So I have to let you be the athlete. Athlete in the room.
Sherry Cola
No, but truly, I love sports. Can we get that out of the way real quick? I know everyone's wondering. I played in a charity basketball game last year. I could not move my body afterwards.
Dylan Mulvaney
Because you were so into it.
Sherry Cola
No, I was so sore. I didn't do anything during the game. I just ran back and forth. Really?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
I could not move. It hurt so bad.
Dylan Mulvaney
But did you contribute to, like, the win?
Sherry Cola
I did a pass.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
That was beneficial.
Dylan Mulvaney
Excellent.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, yeah. This is really all I did. And I whipped my ponytail a few times.
Dylan Mulvaney
Is it this pony that you have in right now?
Sherry Cola
The hair is real.
Dylan Mulvaney
Are you serious?
Sherry Cola
So are the teeth.
Dylan Mulvaney
Shut up.
Sherry Cola
Can you believe?
Dylan Mulvaney
Really good. Real teeth, fake hair.
Sherry Cola
It's a wig. To the point, though, where I am on the toilet and it's, like, risky.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, my God. It's, like, down.
Sherry Cola
I have to, like, you know, swing around the neck.
Dylan Mulvaney
Any plans to cut her? I don't want you to.
Sherry Cola
It's the bullshit thing of, like, I'm waiting for a reason.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, same thing for drinking. So there's going to be a day when you.
Sherry Cola
I have an. A line with a 40 ounce of my hand.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. And just like, wow, I can't wait for that. Okay, what's your sweet?
Sherry Cola
I love that we have the same bitter, though. So let's. Let's work on that together. Let's work on that.
Dylan Mulvaney
Let's talk about that.
Sherry Cola
The sweet. Yesterday, I went to Cheesecake Factory with my family. Oh, yeah. So my mom's brother's daughter, AKA my cousin.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wow.
Sherry Cola
We got there the technical term. Her and her husband came from China to visit.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
But yeah, just like kind of having a wholesome moment.
Dylan Mulvaney
And they're proud of you.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. And so it was my mom, my mom's man friend.
Dylan Mulvaney
Does mom live here?
Sherry Cola
Yes.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, cool.
Sherry Cola
I grew up here.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, okay. Excellent. Oh, everyone. Sherry Cola is from Los Angeles.
Sherry Cola
I was born in Shanghai, China Tea and on. God. And so that's where my cousins are visiting from. And I went a year ago as well to visit. It's the coolest Chinese city.
Dylan Mulvaney
Have you performed over there?
Sherry Cola
No, I have gone to comedy shows. There, though.
Dylan Mulvaney
Bucket list.
Sherry Cola
I know.
Dylan Mulvaney
Put it.
Sherry Cola
What am I doing?
Dylan Mulvaney
I'm really into manifestation vision boards, so by the end, we're gonna have a ton of things probably that we want to put on it.
Sherry Cola
I'm dying too, because every single time I'm with my mom's friends and I'm just speaking in Shanghainese.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
The crowd goes wild.
Dylan Mulvaney
They. They go crazy.
Sherry Cola
I am so funny in Shanghainese. Maybe even funnier.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, we're gonna go test it out in a world tour. You know, how about maybe I also wanna put on my vision board going to Cheesecake Factory with you and. But maybe that's the day you drink. Who knows?
Sherry Cola
Cause the day you drink. What do you know?
Dylan Mulvaney
That's crazy. There is that the portions for those of. I mean, who wouldn't know what Cheesecake Factory portions look like, but if you don't even. The drinks are just about 10 times the size of a normal coffee.
Sherry Cola
Eating and drinking at Cheesecake Factory is spring break.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's a sport. That's. That's a sport.
Sherry Cola
I can get weekend.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah, that's. As a trans woman, I do feel comfortable exercising my sport at Cheesecake.
Sherry Cola
Well, the menu alone will keep you there for eight hours because it is. It is the length of Prisoner of Azkaban.
Dylan Mulvaney
And then by the time that you get to dessert, you can't even get the cheesecake. Do they even have cheesecake?
Sherry Cola
Yes. No. It's actually. They rebranded. They're just called the Factory now. No, I love.
Dylan Mulvaney
Nobody ever could get there.
Sherry Cola
Sweet tooth.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. But no chocolate. Only sour.
Sherry Cola
Interesting.
Dylan Mulvaney
And no fruit ever. Fruit. No fruit ever.
Sherry Cola
I don't fruit recreationally. Although I respect her.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay. I do just eat her like.
Sherry Cola
Like professionally, biblically, spiritually and clitorally.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
Oh, speaking.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
Merch. I will eat fruit, but never voluntarily.
Dylan Mulvaney
No.
Sherry Cola
What is up with that?
Dylan Mulvaney
I don't know. I really think that it's. We don't need to put in. I don't eat vegetables either, which is another kind of.
Sherry Cola
I fuck with vegetables.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay. See, but you. Is it true that you're. You grew up in a family that like, like, had a lot of great food and like, was part of your Then food.
Sherry Cola
I eat everything.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. And your name, Sherry Cola, didn't that come from.
Sherry Cola
Yes, I was. I was making a Yelp account in, like 2011, and I asked my friend what my username should be. I want it to be food related.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
And she said, what about Sherry Col. And here we are.
Dylan Mulvaney
And that's now what everyone is.
Sherry Cola
Oh, my tramp. Stamp. Yeah.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you really?
Sherry Cola
No, but. Should you?
Dylan Mulvaney
No, but tramp stamps are making a huge comeback. Alex Earle really wants to get one.
Sherry Cola
But what kind? Like, are we talking, like, you know, a starry night or, like, words.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think I'd want, like, a little. Maybe like a frog in a bathtub holding, like, an umbrella.
Sherry Cola
I love that. No, that makes me want to get the salt girl with the umbrella. Oh.
Dylan Mulvaney
Like, the little she's in the rain or. No, I think I'm confusing the Coppertone baby with the. The dog. And then what if we just made her one person so it's. She's. There's salt is raining on this poor girl that's having her little diaper pulled by a dog on the beach frog.
Sherry Cola
And eat it, too.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah, that's what I thought.
Sherry Cola
I have had frog legs. Have you? Speaking of.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, my God.
Sherry Cola
Chinese?
Dylan Mulvaney
Never.
Sherry Cola
I was gnarly. Gnarly, gnarly stuff.
Dylan Mulvaney
What's your favorite gnarly food?
Sherry Cola
Pig intestines.
Dylan Mulvaney
Ooh.
Sherry Cola
I don't even stop talking about every podcast I mentioned.
Dylan Mulvaney
Is that, like, drink every time? Like, it's like every time that drink.
Sherry Cola
Every single time you hear pig intestines.
Dylan Mulvaney
On a sherry cola. Guess what?
Sherry Cola
That game.
Dylan Mulvaney

Have you ever been in a fight before?
Sherry Cola
I've been punched in the face. Okay, same by one of your producers.
Dylan Mulvaney
Just actually, right before this just.
Sherry Cola
It's a kink.
Dylan Mulvaney
And now we're gonna keep round two now.
Sherry Cola
No, it was. Who knows what year. Maybe 2009.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
Can't remember half of that year for sure. I used to dabble in Old Town Pasadena. That's where I went out when I first turned 21. But it was just like. It was at Volcano. Yes, the restaurant. But there was a bar in the back of the Pasadena one. Essentially, it was just like drunk packed like sardines, dance floor situation. I was making out with this random dude named Peter, and a few of his friends were standing next to him. So this girl passes by and I was feeling liquid courage. I was feeling, you know, power toppy.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
And I pushed her. I think she kind of knocked into me, but it wasn't intentional at all. And then suddenly I'm just swinging for no reason. This is why I don't drink anymore. I'm swinging. I'm swinging and suddenly I'm getting nothing but air. And then she just pops me. I fall back. Peter and his friends catch me before I hit the floor.
Dylan Mulvaney
Peter.
Sherry Cola
Peter. I owe him money. And I come back and the girl's nowhere to be found. And I see a girl outside who I thought was the puncher. So I pushed her. This is why I don't drink anymore. I was like, 19 probably, but yeah, it wasn't her.
Dylan Mulvaney
It wasn't.
Sherry Cola
It wasn't her. So then I got kicked out. And then we go to King Taco. My other friend gets punched in the face there in the light from the bathroom, same night.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wow, it must have been like a full moon.
Sherry Cola
Listen, I am now, because that's just outrageous.
Dylan Mulvaney
Was that the first and last time that you got punched?
Sherry Cola
Yes.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
I don't know.
Dylan Mulvaney
I got punched. Have you heard of Deltopia?
Sherry Cola
No.
Dylan Mulvaney
So it was flow topia before in Santa Barbara, where, like, thousands of people like, crowd the beach, like college kids.
Sherry Cola
That kind of sounds familiar.
Dylan Mulvaney
But then they. I think they made like a crazy movie on it. And then. But then the beach got so destroyed that they had to take it to land. And so it was like on like frat row. And so I was 16, and me and my friend Lily, like, drove up there. And, like, I think we had, like, friends or something that were meeting. No, maybe I was 15. And we were like, at one of these, like, parties, like, you know, frat, and this guy goes, you gay? And I was like, yeah. And he was like, you gay? And it was like, yeah. And then he goes, pop. And just pops me. And then I sank to the floor and. Oh, this is actually. Is this one sad Twice. I go, I'm like, getting such a kick out of myself right now. And then I'm like, oh, wait, this is a hate crime. No, just. I got one punch. And then. But talk about double trouble. Because we're like. Lily's like, get out.
Sherry Cola
Everyone clear.
Dylan Mulvaney
You know, like really just doing the allyship. And then she throws me on the train, the Amtrak, to get us back down south to la. And a guy on the train looks back at me and goes, you fucking fairy. And I was like, oh, my God, what is going on today? It's something about. It's like was in the water. What if it was the same day? That was your 21st birthday.
Sherry Cola
No, no, it wasn't the same day. 21st was a whole nother. I mean, listen, Good girls gone.
Dylan Mulvaney
Bad.
Sherry Cola
Bad girls gone.
Dylan Mulvaney
I still was kind of a good girl in that moment. You were a little more bad.
Sherry Cola
No, I did rebellious shit. But at the core, I'm. I'm good.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think so too.
Sherry Cola
You know what I'm saying?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah. But I tried to cosplay as a bad girl is what I think I tried to do.
Sherry Cola
But I was researching for a role.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
In bad girlism.
Dylan Mulvaney
In bad girlism.
Sherry Cola
I. I'm sorry that happened to you.
Dylan Mulvaney
Thank you.
Sherry Cola
Foremost, he said, you get twice, you gay. He confirmed.
Dylan Mulvaney
Just to confirm. I mean, who know? I don't think anyone was home. But I. I just, I think column response. Yeah, but it was also like. I mean, that was what, maybe like 12 years ago? And like that. I still feel like homophobia was already out of, like, kind of fashion by then.
Sherry Cola
And on board.
Dylan Mulvaney
How crazy. And there's, like, making a comeback all of a sudden.
Sherry Cola
People fucking suck.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you're in your, like, bisexual, like, awakening area, right?
Sherry Cola
We're thriving in the bisexuality. Always been bisexual but, yeah, just, you know, I mean, not to get super deep, but when I booked the role of Alice on good trouble in 2018, I came out to my mom because this character that was queer and, you know, could potentially be a role model. I thought I had to, you know, spread my wings IRL and feel liberated in that way. So I had that conversation. Of course, the conversation was not overnight, but my mom has made so much progress since, and, you know, my girlfriend joined us at Cheesecake Factory, so life is good. But my point is, representation matters.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
Because I got the chance to be in this show and portray this story. My conversation just within the community has opened up so much.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, and then on the topic of, like, good Trouble, did it feel good to be telling, like, a story and, like, like, making people think about a situation, especially with the LGBTQ community, of, like, you're actually contributing something positive to, like, the world?
Sherry Cola
I mean, Good Trouble changed my life. It was such a blessing and such a victory, just career wise, because, you know, it was a lot of episodes, honey. 88 episodes. Very auspicious number. Okay. Chinese culture, we love the number eight.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yeah.
Sherry Cola
Four, on the other hand, means death. So we're always trying to avoid fours.
Dylan Mulvaney
And go for the eights.
Sherry Cola
All Chinese people do is try to avoid death, you know?
Dylan Mulvaney
Really?
Sherry Cola
Yeah.
Dylan Mulvaney
How do you feel about death?
Sherry Cola
I'm putting it off.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah. I'm scared of death, definitely.
Sherry Cola
I want to live forever.
Dylan Mulvaney
I just. I get so tired all the time, and I'm. I think I've had so much fun already.
Sherry Cola
Where are we on death?
Dylan Mulvaney
Where are we? Where can I get a. Here's the temperature check on death.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. What's the status on death?
Dylan Mulvaney
Still happening.
Sherry Cola
Still in. Yeah, still in.
Dylan Mulvaney
Maybe always will be.
Sherry Cola
My girlfriend and I love each other so much that that's when the thought of death makes us so sad. We're like, I want to do this forever.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yeah. Well, we got to talk about what a girl wants.
Sherry Cola
What? I'm not warmed up. What a girl. I got to stay here.
Dylan Mulvaney
What a. Let's harmonize.
Sherry Cola
So Ashley park, you know, Ashley park.
Dylan Mulvaney
Obsessed with her joyright.
Sherry Cola
My girl, my sister. I sent her a voice message yesterday. Singing that beautiful song ruins. That is in the finale of season four of Emily in Paris.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
Because it's been stuck in my head.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
And I was like, I'm not bad. Ashley will always say, like, you're not bad. Like, not bad.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, then let's get. Let's see.
Sherry Cola
I'm not.
Dylan Mulvaney
Because we're about to make the segment, everyone. What a girl.
Sherry Cola
No, see.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
What a girl. I got to stay here.
Dylan Mulvaney
What a girl wants.
Sherry Cola
What a girl wants. Whoa. That kind of.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wait, one more time. What a girl wants.
Sherry Cola
See, you know what you're doing. I just. One more time. What a girl wants. I'm just driving.
Dylan Mulvaney
Hold it.
Sherry Cola
Let's hold out the one really beautifully.
Dylan Mulvaney
Let's, let's. Let's hold out the wants.
Sherry Cola
Okay.
Dylan Mulvaney
What a girl wants.
Sherry Cola
See, I got nervous there.
Dylan Mulvaney
Maybe let's just go on the note.
Sherry Cola
Okay. What a girl. What a girl wants.
Dylan Mulvaney
What a girl wants. Everyone, I hear at the Dylan Hour we've got what a girl Wants. What do you want? Because I think I know what you want, and I know that's in Broadway for you, because for me, for. I think we do Chicago.
Sherry Cola
Whether it's a musical, whether it's a play.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, maybe it could be a play because I watched.
Sherry Cola
Oh, Mary. Oh, my God, Such a cool times. I was in that.
Dylan Mulvaney
It was so crazy good, right?
Sherry Cola
It is unlike anything that exists.
Dylan Mulvaney
But would you rather be in a musical or a play?
Sherry Cola
Well, will they. They let me into a musical. I do rap.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
That.
Dylan Mulvaney
Hamilton.
Sherry Cola
Hamilton.
Dylan Mulvaney
You could, like, play Hamilton. Honestly, I think Lynn did an interview a couple years ago where he was like, I would love to see, like, gender bending and stuff. And I think that this could be. I love pitching stuff on the Dylan Hour. I love making dreams happen.
Sherry Cola
I'm pretty sure I could call someone to call someone. Without a doubt. He.
Dylan Mulvaney
I. I sent him a DM once. He hasn't opened it. So this is our next shot.
Sherry Cola
I am so in awe of people on Broadway because it's hard work.
Dylan Mulvaney
Eight shows a week. What would be your dream role a week?
Sherry Cola
Definitely something like Hamilton.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
Not to be so, you know, top 40 about it, but.
Dylan Mulvaney
No, but a good show is a good show.
Sherry Cola
My favorite show is Wicked, period contagious in 2008.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, my God.
Sherry Cola
I never saw it in New York, but.
Dylan Mulvaney
No, but that's You.
Sherry Cola
You never.
Dylan Mulvaney
You didn't see it after that either?
Sherry Cola
No.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, my God.
Sherry Cola
I've seen it 12 times coming back, but maybe.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you ever go to New York?
Sherry Cola
I do, I do, I do, I do. I've seen the recent shows. I've seen in New York. Lion King. Actually, I saw Lion King this year. Okay.
Dylan Mulvaney
24 years later.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what, though? The shock of the century is that I didn't go to New York for the first time until 2016.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wait. Hello?
Sherry Cola
Yeah. And I was born in 2012.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah, I was 2014. You know, it's crazy. So we've been up for a lot of the same co. Set in Les Mis roles on.
Sherry Cola
But that's the shock.
Dylan Mulvaney
That is shock.
Sherry Cola
So I'm late.
Dylan Mulvaney
So you're late to.
Sherry Cola
So you're catching up. I watched Some Like It Hot recently. I watched. No, truly, I want. Oh, Mary. Multiple times.
Dylan Mulvaney
Had you met Cole before?
Sherry Cola
No, but I did say hello when I went because I do know James.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yeah, Mutual friends.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. All the. My. My girlfriend and her sister and Anna Camp, who we love as well. Oh, yeah, yeah, we saw. We all kind of were there together. No, I really want to list more. I'm trying to prove myself now.
Dylan Mulvaney
Broadway theater, gay people, playbills.
Sherry Cola
I have so many. I promise. I promise. I have some Mamma Mia.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, I love that one. They're going to come out with the third one.
Sherry Cola
You know that one I'm going to. Can we. Can we, like.
Dylan Mulvaney
I want us to be like, you know, in the background. I love the extras in Mamma Mia that pop up behind, like, in a rich man's world. My dream is to do that. I want to just be. I want to be in the background and go, whoa.
Sherry Cola
I would love to. I'd be down to do eight shows a week as a. It's just as a. A cloud.
Dylan Mulvaney
A cloud. I know. I always say tree in the back. We always go trees.
Sherry Cola
What's up with that?
Dylan Mulvaney
I think. Who. Has there ever been a musical where someone has actually been a proper tree?
Sherry Cola
No, I think they have the tree.
Dylan Mulvaney
Also. You said. What was your word was to this week was.
Sherry Cola
Shockingly.
Dylan Mulvaney
Mine's properly. Because I'm obsessed with British people and they're always like, is that a. Is that a proper tree or is that a different kind of tree? I'm like, that's a proper tree. I'm obsessed with proper.
Sherry Cola
We took the SATs and it shows. Wait, can you do an English accent? I have so many things I need to get back to, by the way. My God, bookmark here.
Dylan Mulvaney
I know. I've got 75. So British accent is okay? Not. No, it's terrible.
Sherry Cola
I've done auditions and I'm like, am I just so bad?
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you do a dialect coach ever? Oh, yes, darling, I'm upset. Why?
Sherry Cola
You know I can't mention it on camera.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, don't cry.
Sherry Cola
It's day.
Dylan Mulvaney
She's crying.
Sherry Cola
It's day two of my menstruation. Oh, darling, it's not good. You know what I'm Saying.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
Lindsay Lohan, though, in the Parent Trap.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, my God. Well, that's. I feel like my only reference.
Sherry Cola
I have claws in you, no doubt.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, I bought the. Her little Burberry trap is I bought her little outfit and I'm realizing, like, maybe not as, like, fashionable for a 27 year old as it is for a 12 year old.
Sherry Cola
I want to know where tie dye girl is today.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, from the camp.
Sherry Cola
Yo, Tie dye girl. That was a power top, mamacita.
Dylan Mulvaney
And how about. Oh, I loved the. The fencing.
Sherry Cola
Oh, you ever done that fencing? It was the Olympics. Before the Olympics.
Dylan Mulvaney
On God.
Sherry Cola
Or on guard or on peacock?
Dylan Mulvaney
On peacock.
Sherry Cola
On guard. On guard.
Dylan Mulvaney
On guard.
Sherry Cola
Run into the. Like. Okay, back to Ricky Martin.
Dylan Mulvaney
Actually, let's talk Ricky Martin.
Sherry Cola
Let's break down the back to. Not cut to back to. Do you know the connection I have with Ricky Martin?
Dylan Mulvaney
No.
Sherry Cola
Okay, first of all, my name is Sherry Cola. Right. My broadcast channel that I don't participate in as much as I should on Instagram, you know?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah, of course.
Sherry Cola
It's called Living La Vida Cola. No, Living La Vieta Cola one. My dad, my father, my birth paternal.
Dylan Mulvaney
Figure dad was obsessed with Ricky Martin.
Sherry Cola
With Ricky Martin growing up.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, so he's gonna love this episode.
Sherry Cola
I mean, listen, I think my dad, you know, we're talking Kinsey scale. But anyway, he had a framed photo of Ricky on our wall. But my dad was also very into pop culture. We're all immigrants. We came here, and my dad was like, let me just absorb everything.
Dylan Mulvaney
Really. Take two.
Sherry Cola
Let me watch trl. You know what I'm saying? Like, that was what my dad mantra was when he woke up. Let me watch trl. And so I was just also into him enough. You know, the. The she bangs and the, you know, living La Locas. And. And what. What's another one from that era?
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, what is this? Big Ricky Martin honeys.
Sherry Cola
Liv La was right. Which is why I'm bilingual.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's.
Sherry Cola
That is your bilingual homosexual because of Ricky Martin. Coastal soon, hopefully when I.
Dylan Mulvaney
Would you kiss Broadway?
Sherry Cola
I would.
Dylan Mulvaney
I would.
Sherry Cola
No, but it gets better. So my dad just. That's a fact. I knew. Okay, my dad loves Ricky Martin. Cut to me hosting the Critics Choice LGBTQ awards this past June.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes.
Sherry Cola
Ricky Martin presents to Abe Sylvia for Palm Royale. I am backstage with Ricky Martin. My dad is there. I pull him for this opportunity. My dad meets Ricky Martin.
Dylan Mulvaney
No, that.
Sherry Cola
This is my career achievement award is what I'm saying.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's all he cared about.
Sherry Cola
He gets the first of all I asked my dad, I'm like, okay, it's going to be quick. Ricky has a heart out. Like it's going to be a very like backstage moment. Do you want me in the photo or not?
Dylan Mulvaney
You lay ground down.
Sherry Cola
The shot list needs to be clear, right?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
He says, I want one by myself.
Dylan Mulvaney
And he was honest. And you.
Sherry Cola
I'm like, say less.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
So I'm holding my phone to get this photo of my dad and Ricky Martin and because I do want to be involved in some way shape form, I tell my makeup artist Tammy to just take a video of this interaction the moment. So then Ricky. Sweetie, sweetie, sweetie. I know I should put it on TikTok.
Dylan Mulvaney
See, I see you've got friends that tell you to put shit on TikTok.
Sherry Cola
I'm sleeping on TikTok. I don't know. Here's the thing. I know that I have the potential to go viral.
Dylan Mulvaney
Honey, you, you're walking virality is so exhausting. But okay, but then. So she's taking the video and then.
Sherry Cola
Ricky sees her taking the video and then she says no, no, no, you get in. And so then I am. There is a photo of the three of us. Oh my God, it was perfect.
Dylan Mulvaney
And was Ricky lovely to you?
Sherry Cola
Oh, so lovely.
Dylan Mulvaney
See that makes me feel really good about wearing a shirt now. Maybe I should give you this shirt.
Sherry Cola
For also dude, the studs in the heart formation.
Dylan Mulvaney
It came like that and that's why it was so expensive at.
Sherry Cola
This is legendary.
Dylan Mulvaney
This is really the little girl boutique that I got store credit at. It's a.
Sherry Cola
It's giving Twilight.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, honey, you brought up my trigger. My favorite trigger. Have I found you. What's your relationship to Twilight?
Sherry Cola
Um. Ish.
Dylan Mulvaney
What does that mean?
Sherry Cola
I have viewed it.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you team Edward or Jacob?
Sherry Cola
Oh, I see. Edward.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay. I'm into Kristen Stewart now.
Sherry Cola
Well, of course. Okay. You didn't ask about that.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, that's what you had to. You just had to go there because.
Sherry Cola
K Stew was given. You know what the dad.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, Billy. Oh my God, that father.
Sherry Cola
The mustache. Single handedly keeping me bisexual.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think he's hot.
Sherry Cola
I always thought he was too young. Like he looks so young to be. Because obviously everyone playing teenagers is like an actual 42. Well, they weren't, were they?
Dylan Mulvaney
No, they were actually young then.
Sherry Cola
Okay, if we're talking and they dated.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you remember they were together?
Sherry Cola
Yes. If we're going deep into the the lore extended cast.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
Cam Gigantet. Is that his name? Gigant Burlesque. And also the O.C.
Dylan Mulvaney
What was he? What character did he play?
Sherry Cola
One of the.
Dylan Mulvaney
The vampires.
Sherry Cola
Bad vampires.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yeah, I know who you're talking about now.
Sherry Cola
Good vampires.
Dylan Mulvaney
You played a vampire?
Sherry Cola
No, I had to think about it.
Dylan Mulvaney
What's your dream? Sort of like acting scenario that maybe somebody wouldn't traditionally put you in.
Sherry Cola
You know what? In. Okay. When you say they wouldn't traditionally put me in is because they don't traditionally see me in this light. Right. Which is why I am working on my body and being taken seriously as someone who could be a superhero, who could be an Asian, bisexual, female James Bond. You know what I'm saying? Give me stunts.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, so you want to be kind of like. Like a little bit more like, masculine superhero, or do you want to be like.
Sherry Cola
No, I want to be like. I want to show the cleavage, but at the same time, I want to, you know, just so.
Dylan Mulvaney
Action.
Sherry Cola
See, even in the face, I still went comedy. It's internal. It's internal.
Dylan Mulvaney
But so. So action category is kind of where you'd like to find yourself one day.
Sherry Cola
Action villain. Like, just. Just serious, sir.
Dylan Mulvaney
I just want to be on a jet ski with, like, an explosion happening behind me. Could you imagine?
Sherry Cola
And then. And just riding away with no bother in the world.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. And then like, like blown out hair.
Sherry Cola
Have you jet skiing?
Dylan Mulvaney
Have I jet skied? It's the only thing that matters.
Sherry Cola
It's your only form of transportation.
Dylan Mulvaney
All sadness in this world. If we all just got 45 minutes on a jet ski in Bora Bora daily. Yeah, well, no, yearly. Do you know how many jets you.
Sherry Cola
Need to do jet ski? It would have billions of paragons. Have you jet ski daily? I have.
Dylan Mulvaney
What's your relationship to jet skiing?
Sherry Cola
Enjoy, love. Enjoy thoroughly. Yeah, And I didn't think I would. I recently went to Catalina island for the first time ever. What you'll learn is that I'm. I. I appear worldly.
Dylan Mulvaney
Speak on it.
Sherry Cola
I appear like a globetrotter.
Dylan Mulvaney
And you, you tagged Greece when you posted Those Catalina photos.
Sherry Cola
1, 2. Mamma Mia. 3.
Dylan Mulvaney
In a rich man.
Sherry Cola
3. New York in 2016. That was shockingly so.
Dylan Mulvaney
There's been some traveling.
Sherry Cola
So what I'm saying is Catalina, even though I grew up here, because a lot of my friends went to Catalina island on field trips and stuff because, you know, Lala girl.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yeah, that. So that was close enough to do.
Sherry Cola
Something, but I never went out of.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you see the buffalo?
Sherry Cola
I didn't see a buffalo, but we did rent a golf cart. It was for my girlfriend's dad's birthday and I'm shocked. They just give people golf carts because we're riding on like open cliffs.
Dylan Mulvaney
But was it you driving?
Sherry Cola
No.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, but why? No, just because, like, I could never sound scared.
Sherry Cola
I could never. Because I couldn't be responsible. I'd rather go down then.
Dylan Mulvaney
What about In Good Trouble, for example? Did you get to do any crazy shit that felt actiony?
Sherry Cola
Ooh, you know what? First of all, I'm so grateful for Good Trouble because it was categorized as a drama. So I think some of my most powerful work as an actress was in season four of Good Trouble. Tell us the Margaret was in that season. Actually, no, she was in season three. But the storyline was kind of an extension because I go on tour with her in the show and then I get assaulted after a show and it was this, like unpacking this trauma, crying every episode and, you know, kind of.
Dylan Mulvaney
And you'd come from the standup world before that?
Sherry Cola
Yes. And I mean, it was just so layered, but it felt so liberating to express through the craft because I'd had also been like at a rock bottom kind of personal chapter in my life while filming it. Yes.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
I was like in a, in a heartbreak scenario during this time. And the fact that I went to work and just cried every day, it was really therapeutic. Along with going to therapy irl. But yeah, it's buy one, get one free therapy, but essentially so.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you were doing a lot of trauma stuff.
Sherry Cola
Like what I'm saying is like my dramatic skills on camera, I didn't even know I had until Good Trouble. Which is why, you know, your dreams are really limitless. You know, like before when I was doing radio, like that was the dream, like not even being on camera. And then I do comedy, you know, standup, and then I do comedic TV shows. And then now I'm doing dramatic stuff and then you know, yada, yada, yada. So I think you're so capable and it's society that kind of puts you in a box or, you know, wants you to settle for the bare minimum and then you, you like stretch that.
Dylan Mulvaney
This is your TED Talk.
Sherry Cola
I just went vaginal a little bit because I went immediately anal.
Dylan Mulvaney
If you're getting really crazy, do you ever get hit with a cringy memory of your 13 year old self out of nowhere and suddenly your panic, sweating and laughing at the same time? Don't, don't worry, don't worry. We all get that. It's because being an adolescent is one of the most visceral shared experiences we have as people. And we want to talk about it. Join me, Penn Badgley, and my two friends, Nava and Sophie on podcrushed as we interview celebrity guests about the joys and horrors of being a teenager and how those moments made them who they are today. New episodes of podcrust are out now. Wherever you get your podcasts. It's the Dealing Hour. You know what I just realized? I didn't say my what a girl wants. Do you know what I want?
Sherry Cola
I want it.
Dylan Mulvaney
I want there to be one universal bridesmaid dress that we all wear for every single wedding. And so that you just. You've got the dress on. We all have gotten. We're doing the same colors. Have you been a bridesmaid before?
Sherry Cola
I've been a maid of honor. And listen, I have first AD energy.
Dylan Mulvaney
So you. They was. It came naturally to you.
Sherry Cola
It came naturally. But.
Dylan Mulvaney
And you were. You, like, doing, like, all sorts of other things.
Sherry Cola
It was. It was during Joyride press shortcomings was coming.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you delivered.
Sherry Cola
I was filming Good Trouble as well, season five. And. And I delivered. I fully delivered. But that's my girl, Christine. She literally has been my best friend. We met in seventh grade, so I'll do anything for her. And I showed up and I did the damn thing.
Dylan Mulvaney
I feel like they keep adding more and more levels of things that need to be done.
Sherry Cola
Here's the thing. We've been a part of enough bachelorette weekends and bridal parties and whatnots that my girlfriend and I are like, maybe we shouldn't do that. Like, let's just either plan it ourselves or like. Cause it is. It's also a lot of money for other people to spend as well.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, yes, you have to bride the dress and in weddings in general. But I. I'm either doing Big Sur or the Plaza.
Sherry Cola
Where.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you know where your wedding's gonna be at? No, I don't know who I'm doing it with.
Sherry Cola
Shockingly, I don't.
Dylan Mulvaney
You don't? Do you like bigger songs?
Sherry Cola
There's an idea, I think breezy.
Dylan Mulvaney
Breezy. Oh, yeah. Starts with my thumbs and a crinkle my nose.
Sherry Cola
Wherever it goes. See, that's where I stay.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh. So we're gonna find you a nice baritone role on Broadway.
Sherry Cola
It's giving. It's giving Lacroix. You know what I'm saying?
Dylan Mulvaney
Speaking of. Do you need a little sip?
Sherry Cola
I say I do.
Dylan Mulvaney
You need a little sip? I was actually curious. The cola piece of your name as well. You drink a lot Of Coke.
Sherry Cola
I am a diet Coke girly. Cherry Coke girly. And Coca Cola proper love that stuff in the glass bottle.
Dylan Mulvaney
They got to get you a brand deal.
Sherry Cola
I'm trying, honey. When they hit me with the cease and desist, that's how, you know, I made it.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, and. And the fact that they haven't already, it's good. It's. It's good. Trouble.
Sherry Cola
I got it. Step my game up.
Dylan Mulvaney
No, that means that they're. They're circling.
Sherry Cola
They're circling. So we've.
Dylan Mulvaney
We've shared. What's that? But I think we. We're now going into our overshare, don't care section of the Dylan hour. This is a lightning round of a few questions, and we're going to put a timer behind us. And it's. Well, not literally, but it's going to be going and. Are you ready? I'm gonna ask you things.
Sherry Cola
Actually, I needed to burp. That's some strong. Is that Topo Chico? Topo Chico hits like a cigarette.
Dylan Mulvaney
That is not Kirkland.
Sherry Cola
Honey, honey, those are not fake caught Kansas anymore.
Dylan Mulvaney
Pellegrino. No more.
Sherry Cola
I'm ready.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay. Ready, Go. Favorite food.
Sherry Cola
Boiling crab seafood. Boiled.
Dylan Mulvaney
Ideal day off from shooting.
Sherry Cola
Peace and quiet and just breathing.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh. Coca Cola or cocaine?
Sherry Cola
Coca Cola. I've never done cocaine in my life, believe it or not.
Dylan Mulvaney
On. On guard. Where to joyride to in L. A. Oh, my goodness.
Sherry Cola
San Gabriel Valley, where I grew up. Asian food galore. Summer rolls in Temple city.
Dylan Mulvaney
Trade places with one person for a day.
Sherry Cola
You.
Dylan Mulvaney
I can't wait. Favorite pop girly right now.
Sherry Cola
Oh, my God. I want to say Sabrina Carpenter because I was just listening to her this morning. However, let's switch it up. Lisa from blackpink.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, yay. Makeup or no makeup?
Sherry Cola
To be honest, no makeup at the end of the day.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's the real good right now that.
Sherry Cola
It feels so stressful to not snatch and emotionally attached.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay, underrated dessert.
Sherry Cola
Red velvet cupcake from Sprinkles.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. Favorite city in the world.
Sherry Cola
That's not really underrated, though. But the honeydew melon pops Korean style.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's not favorite city. Okay. That's the.
Sherry Cola
I don't know.
Dylan Mulvaney
I'm not.
Sherry Cola
Just cut it up and make it pretty.
Dylan Mulvaney
Favorite city.
Sherry Cola
New York is up there.
Dylan Mulvaney
2016.
Sherry Cola
I want to be bicoastal so bad.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay. Sign your most compatible with astrology wise.
Sherry Cola
Oh, let's say Sagittarius. Because the love of my life.
Dylan Mulvaney
Thank God. And favorite movie.
Sherry Cola
When you need a laugh, the sweetest thing.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, I've never seen that.
Sherry Cola
Stop.
Dylan Mulvaney
Who's in it? Oh, Cameron, that's okay.
Sherry Cola
That's the diamond Applegate.
Dylan Mulvaney
Now let's get into it. Is it. And it's funny.
Sherry Cola
It's a national treasure. I was rewatching it, as I do, you know, four times a year. Quarterly Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4. And it really actually reminds me of Joyride in a lot of ways because there's a music montage thing. Like, there's a road trip situation. There's just outrageous sexual things. And I'm like, wow. Like, I grew up watching this film, the sweetest thing, and then I got to do a film.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's what I was gonna say, though. It's like, how crazy that now something you've done is now, like, somebody's answer to that question. How cool.
Sherry Cola
I love it. I mean, raunchy is.
Dylan Mulvaney
I love raunchy. That's why.
Sherry Cola
Such a freeing feeling, right? I'm dying to do it.
Dylan Mulvaney
Because I think we're good people, but we like to be bad sometimes. And I feel guilty about the raunch because I think, like, there are, you know, people who get, like, turned off by that style of comedy or, like, I. But it's a part of, like, it.
Sherry Cola
Yeah.
Dylan Mulvaney
It lives in you, and it lives in me.
Sherry Cola
It's interesting because I feel like I'm good in the sense of, like. Like I said, I've never done cocaine, but go off sis. I just.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you can embody it.
Sherry Cola
But I am, like, candid and chaotic in, you know, how I express, which can be bad. But I don't think I'm safe. But I think I'm obedient. I don't know.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think I'm. What's it called when you're, like, can be counted on?
Sherry Cola
Oh, reliable.
Dylan Mulvaney
I think I'm reliable.
Sherry Cola
I am so reliable.
Dylan Mulvaney
I turn. I'll turn that out. If I say yes, we're gonna make something great happen, girl.
Sherry Cola
It's almost like I'm. I'm, like, trying to prove something. It's almost like.
Dylan Mulvaney
But my bathroom counter. It might look a little crazy.
Sherry Cola
Oh, my God. My bathroom counter is a crime scene.
Dylan Mulvaney
Bad girl. Is it? Oh, honey, we're called.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, it is so bad right now.
Dylan Mulvaney
It's.
Sherry Cola
Or talking, like, because I had a broken nail. There's, like, Band Aid freaking wrappers everywhere.
Dylan Mulvaney
Contour everywhere.
Sherry Cola
The hamper has runneth over. The hamper has runneth.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, honey, I had to. I had to. I had two hampers that were filled to the brim. Right before we got here, we dumped him out on the floor so that we could put more shit to bring to the podcast today. But I mean, there's not even a hamper in sight now.
Sherry Cola
The toothpaste smears on the mirror. I know what you did last summer.
Dylan Mulvaney
Like, it's so that's the reality of the world that we're living in.
Sherry Cola
And look at this hair, babes.
Dylan Mulvaney
Is it everywhere?
Sherry Cola
Michelle Branch.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wow. Who's that?
Sherry Cola
Oh my God, Dylan.
Dylan Mulvaney
I'm trying. We're trying.
Sherry Cola
We're not in the same U.S. census bracket.
Dylan Mulvaney
I'm 27.
Sherry Cola
Oh, it's all coming back to me.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wait, is.
Sherry Cola
That was nice.
Dylan Mulvaney
Wait, but can I give.
Sherry Cola
Michelle Ranch sings a song called Everywhere.
Dylan Mulvaney
But does she also sing a song that's like 2am and she goes, no. Who's does that one? That's breathe, right?
Sherry Cola
That song was in Grey's Anatomy famously. That's Breathe famously shockingly properly. Kill Mary.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh. Oh my God. Wait, of. Of. Of who?
Sherry Cola
Those three words.
Dylan Mulvaney
But what. What. How does that work? Kill Mary. I know what Kill Mary is, but.
Sherry Cola
You didn't give me the famously, shockingly properly.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh. Oh my God. I literally. I went like in my mind there was no one home even that was.
Sherry Cola
Harmonic shockingly properly, famously, famously.
Dylan Mulvaney
Kill Mary. Kill probably famously. Oh, I'm gonna famously. Cuz it. Oh no. I feel so bad. I'm marrying properly. It's my favorite word to say.
Sherry Cola
And I killed your word Shockingly. No, no, but you can make famously just enter the chat out of nowhere. So every podcast I'm on, I mention pig intestines and I do a Kill Mary. I need to stop.
Dylan Mulvaney
Kill Mary. Mary Fuck kill.
Sherry Cola
Interesting. Let's unpack that, I think.
Dylan Mulvaney
But I like that you're putting your own spin on it.
Sherry Cola
No Kill Fuck Mary babes. No, because you eliminate and then you tolerate and then you commemorate that.
Dylan Mulvaney
You might have just sold me on that Kill Mary. I actually think you could trademark that along with Cherry Cola. If Coke lets you.
Sherry Cola
If Coca Cola or cocaina. I don't trust us calls me tonight. Let's.
Dylan Mulvaney
But you know who did call us?
Sherry Cola
Who?
Dylan Mulvaney
It's time for last call confessions.
Sherry Cola
Uh oh.
Dylan Mulvaney
So someone has called and specifically wants advice or a confession for us here at Dylan Hour. Are you ready to give it to them?
Sherry Cola
I'm edging. I am edging.
Dylan Mulvaney
As I did during Lent that one year.
Sherry Cola
40 days. Should have kept going.
Dylan Mulvaney
It was crazy, girl.
Sherry Cola
Should have kept going crazy.
Dylan Mulvaney
Hello, honey. Hi, Dylan, this is Camille and I just wanted to Ask for some advice about getting in tune with myself. I'm a recovering people pleaser. And, yeah, I don't know, I just kind of feel like a loss of identity in general. So I was just wondering if you had some advice about getting in tune with yourself and kind of finding your truth. Thank you. Bye.
Sherry Cola
Wow.
Dylan Mulvaney
Hi, Camille.
Sherry Cola
Thank you for sharing, Camille, because that's a very vulnerable feeling of like, I'm doing this and that for everyone else. Who am I? You know what I mean?
Dylan Mulvaney
Who are you?
Sherry Cola
That's. That's sometimes like, you know, when we talk about our bitter of. Of just saying yes to too many things, that's in that same.
Dylan Mulvaney
But then you can lose who you are, I think, because I. I found especially trying to make all these people on the Internet so happy all the time and. And making as many people like me as possible, I was completely suppressing all the actual pieces of myself, like the bad girl, like, the raunchy. Because I thought, oh, God, you know, God forbid that I say a bad word or I acknowledge that, like, I'm a sexual human being or that, like, I've, you know, got these weird quirks about me that might turn some people off. I, like, hid those. But then you're being like the shallowest sort of like, polished version of yourself, and that isn't going to get you. I don't think that's going to be good in the end.
Sherry Cola
Yeah. I mean, being a public figure definitely has its extra layer of the pressure or what we think are you people want every pleaser in real life? Definitely. You know, what would you say to Camille?
Dylan Mulvaney
Like, do you think.
Sherry Cola
What I've realized is that most of the time people are not as mad that we don't attend something or as annoyed that you didn't do this for them. As we think we are overcompensating in our heads. Like, we are the ones going that extra mile because we are so terrified of being not liked that we actually make this up. They're fine if we don't go to their birthday. There's 45 other people who are we. If anything, it's us being full of ourselves, thinking, if I'm not there, there is no party. You know what I'm saying?
Dylan Mulvaney
Amen.
Sherry Cola
Like, that's what I realized. It's like when we're overly apologetic. Cause we've been there. Like, oh, my God, I'm so sorry I can't make it. And what's the reason, really? Except, like, I don't feel like it. Slash, I'm just Overwhelmed. Who isn't overwhelmed? And then they'll be like, oh, my God, don't worry about it. I totally get it. There are people who will be petty and hold a grudge, of course, but most of the time they get it. And as a matter of fact, they forgot that that even happened, that exchange. Like, unless, of course, it's like your sister or your best friend or, you.
Dylan Mulvaney
Know, your girlfriend, what's going on in our own lives, that it's like it's.
Sherry Cola
Heightened this, like the fact that they even need to be pleased. You know what I'm saying?
Dylan Mulvaney
Yep.
Sherry Cola
Like, I am such a people pleaser in different ways of my life. The guilt is. Is self provoked. Like, I'm making it up a lot of the time.
Dylan Mulvaney
Do you use comedy as a way to, like, get through that?
Sherry Cola
Definitely. I'll be like, you know, let's say I. There's three birthdays in a housewarming on a Friday night. Girl, you're.
Dylan Mulvaney
You're slinging jokes at all of them.
Sherry Cola
Oh, you're talking about when I attend. I'm talking about when I, like, need.
Dylan Mulvaney
To get out of something.
Sherry Cola
When I get out of something, there's also jokes because I might as well give you a treat.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
If I'm gonna punish you.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, I think. Yeah. Surround yourself with people who know you really well and that you feel like you get to be your complete self with so that when you feel called to please someone else, you know already what your morals and values are with the people you love and so that it doesn't slip into the broader parts of your life.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, absolutely. I think, you know, taking time to yourself, perhaps journaling the pros and cons of the people in your life and what they do to fill your cup. Because my mom even said yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory, she says you have to take care of yourself first. And I was like, mom, drag me. Read me, you know, in front of the free bread.
Dylan Mulvaney
You need to take this.
Sherry Cola
You're gonna do this here. So. Cheesecake Factory. That was.
Dylan Mulvaney
That was nice. Good. We should talk. Comedy music.
Sherry Cola
Camille.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, Camille.
Sherry Cola
Yes. Camille. Camille, don't you feel conceal okay under the eyes? Look great. Okay. Camille. C A M I L L E. Camille. Cam for short. Illy, if you're, you know.
Dylan Mulvaney
Oh, Ellie's so cute, actually.
Sherry Cola
Okay. Journal just to express therapy always.
Dylan Mulvaney
Lent is good.
Sherry Cola
Lent is good. Yeah. Maybe take.
Dylan Mulvaney
What if this is actually for Camille. Camille, for Lent, you're giving up people pleasing.
Sherry Cola
Yes. Make it a goal like that. Make it like 40 days a tangible and then transactional. Logical goal.
Dylan Mulvaney
If Camille, too, has a wine party thrown by her friend, Camille might choose to. People please that day. Tell me, what are you looking forward to in your life? Are you. Are you happy?
Sherry Cola
You know what? I worked with Keanu Reeves.
Dylan Mulvaney
Whoa.
Sherry Cola
On something quick. I popped in and played this summer.
Dylan Mulvaney
Okay.
Sherry Cola
And I'm sitting there in my living room a couple days later, and my vision board is just always right there.
Dylan Mulvaney
You have a vision board?
Sherry Cola
Yeah, it's under my tv, kind of to the bottom right. And I. And I. I look at it, and Keanu Reeves was on there. So in January of.
Dylan Mulvaney
You put Keanu Reeves on your vision board?
Sherry Cola
Yeah, he must have been on some John Wick, you know, advertisement or something. I was like, why not? You know, he's Asian. That's usually my.
Dylan Mulvaney
That's what?
Sherry Cola
Mentality when I make a vision board. Yeah, they're Asian. Throwing them in there, put them on there, you know? And I was like, oh, my God. Manifest, honey.
Dylan Mulvaney
And. And you did it, period. Can you tell the people at home, like, you gotta ask for what you want?
Sherry Cola
Manifesting. I listen. When we say we're hanging by a thread, we don't mean because what we're doing is hanging by a nail. That's okay. No, it's giving. Now you see me, now you don't. It's giving like. Like Asian mom visor. You know what I'm saying?
Dylan Mulvaney
It's giving. Smoke and mirrors.
Sherry Cola
It's giving. The cocaine was too strong. It's giving. Pinky break a promise. No, it's.
Dylan Mulvaney
This is the Sherry Cola nail.
Sherry Cola
It's giving. Emily embarrassed. It's giving.
Dylan Mulvaney
That was good.
Sherry Cola
Not my best.
Dylan Mulvaney
I liked it.
Sherry Cola
Not my worst. It's giving like something duplex.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yes. She's giving a little lift.
Sherry Cola
Okay, no, but no, we have to.
Dylan Mulvaney
Tell the people what you want.
Sherry Cola
We want panini press. Okay? We're.
Dylan Mulvaney
We're getting you an action film.
Sherry Cola
It's giving Fail salon. No, it's a nail. I'm done. I have to leave.
Dylan Mulvaney
I do.
Sherry Cola
Hello, Camille.
Dylan Mulvaney
Mom, can you come pick us up?
Sherry Cola
The fact that Camille is now my emergency.
Dylan Mulvaney
Camille is my mom. Camille.
Sherry Cola
I think we need Camille more than she needs.
Dylan Mulvaney
How cute, though. If we took Camille to the Cheesecake Factory. And you know what? It. When we do it, we just pick you up from your. Like I almost said, John Bond. What's his name? James Bond.
Sherry Cola
Uhoh.
Dylan Mulvaney
You did your James. You did your first day on James Bond in a tux.
Sherry Cola
And then James Bondage.
Dylan Mulvaney
Me and Camille pick you up. We bring you into the Cheesecake Factory. We eat the dessert. The dessert first. We're not well, something's really wrong. Please, please, please give me my. They're like, why do you have a pod? And. And we're gonna take you there and then we're gonna be okay. That's what I'm just praying we're all gonna be okay. You know, it's actually, I'm not worried.
Sherry Cola
About you, Cheesecake Camille.
Dylan Mulvaney
You don't worry. I'm not worried about you.
Sherry Cola
I am not worried about you either because one, we have each other.
Dylan Mulvaney
Yeah.
Sherry Cola
No matter what.
Dylan Mulvaney
Well, we did host. We did do that award once.
Sherry Cola
We are surviving. We're thriving or jiving.
Dylan Mulvaney
You've got good hair.
Sherry Cola
You listen.
Dylan Mulvaney
You look good. I look like.
Sherry Cola
I gotta say the secret is that the drapes actually don't match the carpet because down there not as abundant. Oh, flex.
Dylan Mulvaney
And on that note, I want to thank our lovely guest, Sherry Cola. Where can they find you?
Sherry Cola
Sherry Sherricola on Instagram? Just search me on the Internet and.
Dylan Mulvaney
Maybe we'll get a few more viral TikToks in the in the meantime.
Sherry Cola
Yeah, there's something here.

Summary of "Good Girls Gone Bad with Sherry Cola" Episode on The Dylan Hour
Released on May 7, 2025 by Lemonada Media
In the "Good Girls Gone Bad" episode of The Dylan Hour, host Dylan Mulvaney welcomes multi-talented guest Sherry Cola, a stand-up comedian, actress, and voiceover artist. Dylan sets the stage by sharing a nostalgic story from her teenage years, highlighting the unexpected revelations that sometimes accompany our attempts to express our identities.
Dylan Mulvaney [01:34]: “I kind of dressed as what I thought was a bad girl as a throwback to my 16-year-old self... And I thought it made me a bad girl because... Ricky Martin is on my shirt today.”
A significant portion of the conversation revolves around sobriety and the personal challenges associated with it. Sherry shares her journey of abstaining from alcohol for seven months, a commitment that began as a Lent challenge with her girlfriend.
Sherry Cola [04:04]: “I've been off of alcohol... putting it down. That is very delicious.”
Dylan reflects on her own experiences, recounting a time when she gave up physical intimacy for Lent, which led to unexpected and unfulfilling outcomes.
Dylan Mulvaney [07:48]: “I gave up touching myself for 40 days... it actually wasn't as good as I thought it was gonna be.”
Both Dylan and Sherry discuss the complexities of attending social events, especially when striving to maintain sobriety. Sherry recounts an incident where her attempt to act out a "bad girl" persona resulted in an unintended confrontation.
Sherry Cola [20:01]: “I pushed her... and suddenly I'm just swinging for no reason... I got punched in the face.”
They delve into the pressures of being a public figure and the internal conflicts of wanting to please others versus maintaining personal authenticity. Sherry emphasizes the importance of self-care and setting boundaries to prevent burnout from constantly saying "yes" to commitments.
Sherry Cola [53:09]: “Take time to yourself, perhaps journaling the pros and cons of the people in your life... you have to take care of yourself first.”
Sherry discusses her role in the TV show Good Trouble, highlighting how the series allowed her to explore deeper, more dramatic aspects of her acting abilities, which contrasted with her background in comedy and stand-up.
Sherry Cola [39:16]: “Some of my most powerful work as an actress was in season four of Good Trouble... it was really therapeutic.”
She shares her pride in contributing to LGBTQ representation in media, noting the positive impact of portraying a queer character.
Sherry Cola [24:42]: “Representation matters... My conversation within the community has opened up so much.”
A heartfelt segment focuses on Sherry's relationship with pop icon Ricky Martin, stemming from her father's admiration for the artist. Sherry recounts hosting the Critics Choice LGBTQ awards, where she had the opportunity to meet Ricky Martin backstage, capturing a memorable moment for her family.
Sherry Cola [33:50]: “Ricky Martin presents to Abe Sylvia for Palm Royale... I pull him for this opportunity. My dad meets Ricky Martin.”
Dylan humorously connects this experience back to her own story about the Ricky Martin shirt, reinforcing the episode’s thematic focus on unexpected self-discoveries.
Sherry Cola [35:02]: “Ricky sees her taking the video and then she says no, no, no, you get in. And so then I am. There is a photo of the three of us. Oh my God, it was perfect.”
The episode incorporates playful banter and interactive segments, such as the "What a Girl Wants" segment and a lightning round of rapid-fire questions. These segments showcase the hosts' chemistry and provide insights into their personalities and preferences.
Dylan Mulvaney [27:06]: “What a girl wants. Whoa. That kind of...”
Sherry Cola [45:07]: “Boiling crab seafood. Boiled.”
They discuss favorite foods, ideal days off, and personal anecdotes, creating an engaging and relatable atmosphere for listeners.
Towards the end of the episode, Dylan and Sherry address a listener's call for advice on overcoming people-pleasing tendencies and reclaiming personal identity. They offer practical strategies such as setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, and embracing one's authentic self.
Dylan Mulvaney [53:43]: “Surround yourself with people who know you really well and that you feel like you can be your complete self with.”
Sherry Cola [54:30]: “Take time to yourself, perhaps journaling the pros and cons of the people in your life and what they do to fill your cup.”
As the episode wraps up, Dylan and Sherry reinforce the importance of self-acceptance and authenticity. They encourage listeners to embrace their true selves and seek happiness beyond the pressures of societal expectations.
Sherry Cola [54:50]: “We want panini press... We're getting you an action film.”
Dylan Mulvaney [56:17]: “And you did it, period. Can you tell the people at home, like, you gotta ask for what you want?”
Dylan thanks Sherry Cola for her candidness and invites listeners to follow her on Instagram for more content. The episode concludes with a call to subscribe to Lemonada Premium for additional bonus content.
