A conversation with Becca Mann, an open water swimmer and writer. She's an 8x USA Swim National Team member and 2x USA National Champion. She's the first and only swimmer to complete the Triple Maui Nui Channel Swim, a 40 mile channel crossing from Mauito Molokai to Lanai back to Maui. A conversation with Edzard Ernst, M.D., PhD co-author of the book Trick or Treatment, The undeniable Facts about Alternative Medicine. He's a long time physician that has decades of experience as a doctor and also as a researcher. He has served as chairman of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) at the University of Vienna. He became director of complementary medicine of the Peninsula Medical School (PMS) in 2002. Among many accomplishments he holds the record for the longest continuous run of 350 miles in 80 hours and 44 minutes without sleep, and winner of the Badwater 135 milre run in Death Valley California. A conversation with running legend Amby Burfoot. Amby Burfoot stands as a titan in the running world. Crowned the Boston Marathon champion in 1968, he became the first collegian to win this prestigious event and the first American to claim the title since John Kelley in 1957.As well as a stellar racing career of over 62 years, Amby channeled his passion for running into journalism. He joined Runner’s World magazine in 1978, rising to the position of Editor-in-Chief and then serving as its Editor-at-Large.As well as being the author of several books on running, he regularly contributes articles to major publications, and curates his weekly Run Long, Run Healthy Newsletter. We talk about his origin story and the early relationships he cultivated with other notable runners like John J. A conversation with Paul Holborn. He is a former boxer and winner of the 2025 World Marathon Challenge which is running 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. Paul Holborn didn’t go into the event to win, but after about 5 days Paul emerged as the men’s winner, completing the 777 in an average time of 3:22:36. We talk about his background as a boxer and the inspiring story of what eventually drove him to consider attempting the World Marathon Challenge, and the support he received from his family after taking the physical and financial leap. We discuss Paul’s training approaching leading up to the 777 and the amount of training volume he peaked at to prepare, including his level of confidence going into Antarctica. We talk about Paul’s fueling and sleep protocol going into the event and how well it worked. Paul discusses what he believes it was that helped him in the end. Paul talks through each leg of the event, some of the high points and lower points and where along the way did the possibility he could win come into mind.
